CALL MY NAME
Danny Rand x Y/N x Dick Grayson
Part 4
__________________
"Thank God you're alive."
Dick Grayson felt like his world collapsed when he was told that (Y/N) was shot. Not the arm, or leg, but center chest during a mission that he left because he thought she could handle it.
Especially with her old team.
"I'm fine. It didn't even leave a mark," She lifted up her shirt to show that there was no scar, not even a scratch, where the bullet entered.
"Still, I thought. . .I thought the worst, baby," Dick whimpered, his entire demeanor almost crumbling at the thought of the woman he's loved more than anything else just dying.
And he blamed himself.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have let my guard down."
"No, no, this is not your fault. You saved ninety kids from absolute hell on earth, (Y/N)."
"No, I didn't," You dismissed, walking around him and towards the kitchen.
"The team did. Nova extracted the kids while Luke kept watch, and White Tiger and Spiderman apprehended the traffickers who weren't murdered. I just laid there, and Danny had to fucking carry me back like a baby," You groaned, remembering how useless you felt on your own mission.
"You called him Danny."
You looked up at him, and without the domino mask and in the comfort of your own home, you could tell now more than ever that Dick Grayson was frustrated yet nervous.
"Yeah. . .? So?"
His brows furrowed, "He's Iron Fist. You called everyone else by their hero alias but him."
"Are you fucking serious right now? What's wrong with you?" You immediately got defensive, trying to turn the narrative but you've always called him Danny. Only on the battlefield did you call him Iron Fist.
"You've gotten closer to him and I don't like it."
"He was my teammate, and he just saved my life! So sorry if I called him by his birth name," You were confused.
Did he not trust you?
After all this time?
"I could say the same shit about Zatanna," You crossed your arms.
"Zatanna is not the topic of this discussion."
"But when she is, Zatanna is some amazing sorceress! She's undefeatable, she's changed so much! God, first she's a nuisance in our lives and now she's a saviour for respecting our relationship?!" You yelled at him. Zatanna always made it clear that she wasn't going anywhere when you and Dick got together, but he always shoved her away.
"Zatanna is not the one always looking you up and down like you're some meal!"
You stepped back, "What are you talking about?"
"You're a Widow, (Y/N). Figure it out for yourself."
You did notice it. The way that Danny always gravitated towards you at meetings, the way he would subtly and 'accidentally' brush his hand against your thigh, and the way he stared. Maybe no one else noticed but you recognized it well. It the same stare he gave you after a mission where your suit was ripped and you had to get it fixed, and as mature and zen as Danny is - he was feral.
Only moments after you dropped it off to have it fixed and made your way to your room, you found Danny waiting outside with a clenched jaw and a lustful gaze.
That night was your first time together.
And the thought of that look made you shiver.
"I'll talk to him. Danny is the most respectful man I know, and he would never make a move on me," You expressed. He always asked, no matter the situation. Being raised by Monks can teach a guy a thing or two.
"After this, after SHIELD has all their shit fixed, I don't feel comfortable with you being around him anymore. I know its a lot to ask, but-"
"It is," You cut him off, "even if I were to just hang with Luke, Sam, Peter and Ava - Danny has always been their friend. They're a group, so I can't just tell Danny to fuck off when I want to see them. And it's been years since I've seen any of them. I want to repair the friendship we had."
Dick sighed, not knowing what to do. He loves (Y/N), he knows he always will, but the mere thought of Daniel Rand being the constant in her life made him jealous. She even said Danny was her first love, and as much trust that they've built up, he wanted to be selfish.
He wanted Iron Fist to go away.
"Then I want to talk to him."
Her head snapped up.
"To Danny?"
He nodded, "I need to know, man to man, that he no longer has feelings for you. That I can trust him."
(Y/N) felt off. Yes, this is a good thing, they should talk this out and clear the air. But Danny compared to Dick? Danny doesn't lie, and if he still has feelings for her, Dick might very well lose it.
But she still said, "Okay."

Hit Me with Your Best Shot
A Nova and Shiki short
Hey yall! I'm back with a little short of just @greaser-wolf and I's ocs Nova and Shiki! This one is set after the No One Does It Like You Do fanfic and also is based off the sparring drawing wolf drew!! Hope you guys enjoy!!
⚠️WARNING⚠️: There is usage of adult language and also mention of blood and abuse, viewer discretion is advised.
Word Bank: Rhubarb- An argument or fight
Shiki looked down at her phone at the address Nova had texted her. After the boar yokai healed from the mountain mission, the cop asked the feline if she would be down to spare. And with Nova being the competitive and boastful yokai she is, accepted the offer.
Shiki knew what she was getting into, if she lost Nova would rub it in her face for weeks on end, but the cop was a little rusty when it came to cats and if her and the Mud Dogz were going to keep running into cat like yokai, she needed to be prepared.
As the brown furred yokai went towards the front door, two figures started to head towards her.
“No way,” she whispered to herself as she finally made out the two yokai that decided to show up.
“What are you guys doing here?”
Dastardly Danny was practically dragging the ogre next to him as he caught up with his girlfriend.
“Did ya really think we would miss this rhubarb? Not a chance!” The rat exclaimed as he brushed back the few tufts of hair on his head. Both of the men wore more casual outfits than their usual gang outfits so they could blend in with the crowd.
Shiki was a little excited to have the boys here after all the battles and adventures they had gone through, the cop never recalled Danny ever seeing her spare one-on-one with someone, and maybe with the guys being there than her and Nova will give all they got into the fight.
“You sure you want to be here?” Shiki asked as she opened the door and looked over at Leonard, who’s tired eyes and messy hair in a bun indicated that he was forcefully dragged to this.
“I really don’t believe I have a choice.”
As Shiki asked for Nova at the front desk, the rat yokai leaned in and said something about the feline in question and the ogre just rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
The gym worker led them to one of the large rooms that could be rented out for dance or sparring practice; the rooms had a glass barrier around it so yokai’s could watch from the outside without getting hurt.
The tabby was sitting on one of the mountain's piles of folding mats, her claws scrolling through her phone as she drank from her water container. She wore a long grey thermal and workout shorts, sweat barely dripping down her face and her hair stuck to her back in its ponytail. The worker that led the three knocked on the door and the feline walked over to unlock it, a poised smile on her mouth.
“Well, not only do I get a sparring partner, but she also brought cheerleaders as well! This must be my lucky day!” Nova laughed out as she let her three friends in and waved at the worker.
“You would just love to see us in skirts, wouldn’t you?” Leonard asked and Nova stuck her tongue out at him with a wink.
“Well of course.”
Nova placed her phone and drink over in one of the corners of the room and then strolled over to her friend, her multi-colored eyes scanning over the boar’s workout outfit.
“Do you expect to bleed today, Munchkin?” Nova asked as her eyes landed on Shiki’s handaged wrapped hands.
“Didn’t the police academy teach you how to fight cats?”
The tabby flashed her fangs in a bright smile as she turned tail and over to one of the mats, her feet barely pressing into the soft floor.
“It taught us how to fight almost all different kinds of yokai, I’m just a little rusty in the feline department.”
“More like I don’t want to get my hooves dirty.”
Nova tightened her hair tie and pushed the bangs out of her eyes as she stretched her long arms up towards the ceiling. She then turned to the guys.
“Well, the cheerleaders can’t be this close to the players,” she chuckled out and then pointed to the row of seats that were outside of the room.
“Alright, boss.”
The two members of the Mud Dogz walked out of the room and sat up against the cold, metal bleachers, the only sound coming from the room was the vibration of the speakers that popped out Nova’s songs.
“Okay, I believe that the most important thing you must know about a cat is their flexibility, most small and nimble cats are flexible, except for lions and such,” Nova started as she sat down and reached for her toes while Shiki popped a few of her tight joints.
“How flexible are you?”
It almost seemed like the cat was waiting for her friend to ask that because stretched out onto her hands and did a handstand and then split her legs away from each other, all while giving a cocky smile.
“As flexible as you want me to be.”
In the stands Danny had to elbow his friend in the stomach who seemed to have cottonmouth.
“Would ya like me to get ya a drink? Ya looking kind of parch.”
“Oh shut up I saw you staring at Shiki’s ass on the way in.”
The tabby then did a front flip to land on her feet, her arms now crossed behind her back as she looked over at the stacks of soft mats.
“Most cats will use height to their advantage, to jump off of or use the hard surface to bring more power. So, that’s what I’ll be using,” she explained and then took a fighting stance.
“Alright, Shiki, got any questions?”
“I’ll ask along the way.”
“Then hit me with your best shot.”
The boar yokai grinned under her fist as she charged, her fist flying towards the feline’s stomach but the tabby dodged quickly, her hands not even coming up to protect herself. Shiki frowned and then lifted her leg to roundhouse kick her but the feline ducked down and then used her own leg to trip over Shiki, who hit the ground with a thud.
Nova leaned down to look at her, her brown curls creating waves at the end of Shiki’s vision.
“Your moves are predictable, if you’re fighting a criminal then they’ll know what moves you’ll try to pull since you’re a cop.”
Shiki responded with a grunt as she got herself up and they both took their fighting stance once more, this time Nova was the one to take the first step forward. She turned left and then a hard right at the last second, her paws digging Shiki’s arm as she came up to block.
"Cats will use their claws when they can," Nova grunted as Shiki's strength started to take over her arm.
"So, you'll need to protect yourself whenever they attack."
"Okay, how do I do that?"
Nova took her hands off of the boar’s arm and had the cop grab her by the wrists.
“You can usually see a cat about to attack with their claws when their claws come out and they’ll look for a perfect angle to attack, so grab them before they can do that.”
With Shiki’s grip on Nova’s wrists she then flipped her off her feet and then onto the ground, a forceful bust of air coming out of her white chest as the cop smiled.
Shiki helped the mountain cat up and they took a fighting stance once more, the fire boar edging closer to Nova until she had enough room to attack, her bandaged fist raising up to hit Nova in her freckled cheek. But the feline held the fist with her white paws and bounced off the momentum of Shiki’s power and strength, and with her tongue sticking out she flipped over the cop, her own power pushing Shiki to the ground.
“Jeez, Nova, you know the force could use someone like you.”
“Yes I’m sure they would love someone who’s been in their jail cell to have access to their private information,” Nova cooed and swayed from side to side.
“I’m barely breaking a sweat, Shiki! I said hit me with your best shot!” The cat challenged and Shiki raised her eyebrow in irritation, but she lifted herself up and went rogue from her usually fighting techniques.
The tinge of shock that danced over Nova’s eyes was pleasing to see as Shiki swung an underhook into her side, the cat barely dodging it before the fire boar went in for another hit, hitting her knuckles deep into Nova’s thigh.
A hiss parted between Nova’s teeth and she backed away, her strong legs leaping on top a five stacked mattress and then higher and higher onto the stack of long pillows. Shiki watched closely as Nova rubbed her thumb over the spot that was hit.
“I’m guessing that you take the legs down, you take the whole cat down?” The officer asked, confidence and arrogance leaking throughout her tone.
The feline laughed at her comment as she stood up.
“Their legs are their backup plan, if things aren’t working out for them, they can at least jump out of the situation.”
The mountain cat then jumped from one of the hanging poles and landed on one of the smaller pile of mats and then leapt towards Shiki, the female dodging the attack and Nova rolled to a complete stop next to her, her hand taking hold of her okay colored ankle and flipping her onto the floor. Shiki let out a snort as she felt her lungs hit against her back and her hand went flying towards Nova, bringing her down with her in a single pull.
They both instantly got up before either of them could get in another hit. Sweat was dripping at the corner of Nova’s face and Shiki’s palms started to feel clammy. But the brown mammal charged after the cat, Nova’s arms constantly going up to use as a barrier and then raised her knee up while Shiki was invested into trying to go for her top.
But even through the pain that Nova’s knee brought the shorter female slammed her elbow into the middle of her thigh and the fishing cat reeled back as Shiki turled and had her foot make contact with Nova’s flat chest and stomach.
The feline took a few steps back, her snowy paw gripping her stomach as she took in a few gulps of air and for a second fear traveled over Shiki as she saw spit drip from Nova’s mouth.
Maybe she took it too far? This was just supposed to be practice.
As Shiki raised her hand closer to the feline her white hand seized her wrapped hooves and twisted it behind her back in remarkable speed all while the tall cat was letting out light chuckles.
“You can’t hurt me that easily,” she growled and then released the fire boar, her white foot slamming into her back and sending her onto her feet.
Shiki could taste blood in her mouth and realized that her tongue was between her teeth and she thrashed her head around as she got herself up from the ground.
‘Cats sure do like bringing their opponent to the ground,’ Shiki thought as Nova came racing towards her, the force of her legs threw her up to the point that her foot could make contact with the Shiki’s face, who rapidly blocked it by shoving her her fist into the sole of her foot. Instead of it hurting Nova, she used it as a boost and did another front flip over the fire boar and once again used her powerful legs to kick her face down into the ground.
This time a snort of anger erupted from Shiki’s mouth as she felt a bruise start to form on her back for how many times she was kicked. She didn’t even notice the blood that soaked her wrapped hand and how Nova was leaving little pawprints of blood over the mats.
The two guys that were watching were each growing their own amount of concern as they noticed the drops of crimson that stained the blue mats and how Shiki’s and Nova’s face had changed from friendly to almost cutthroat death glares.
Nova winced as she walked over to Shiki who was getting up, the feline overhearing that she was done for the day.
“Oh we are not done, little piglet,” Nova reported as her paws enfolded over Shiki’s ankle and instant panic reaped over her body as flashes of her father crossed her mind.
“Shiki! Get your ass back here! We are not done yet!”
“But Dad, we've been at it for hours! I have homework to do!”
“And you have to show that you’re not weak! AGAIN!”
The years of fighting, if never having a break and going to bed bloody and bruised to the point others thought she was a brown and black spotted boar. The cop couldn’t hear the fake giggles Nova was pushing out as she playfully dragged her back to the center of the room, all she could hear was her father’s heart stopping screams trembled in her memory.
Shiki could feel it bubbling at the edge of her throat, the uncooked and fresh rage that started to take form as a living thing inside of her. And when she turned to look at Nova the feline stopped in her tracks, her white paws letting go of her friend’s ankle as she took a step back. Tusks were now growing out the side of the boar’s mouth and they curled towards her dark eyes.
“Hey, Shiki, I was only playing, if you need a break-”
“You wanna fight? Let’s fight then.”
Nova narrowed her eyes as puffs of smoke started to leach out of the corner of Shiki’s mouth and the feline took a step back in fear, she had seen Shiki mad before but nothing like this, nothing as dangerous as this.
The blur of smoke and dust was upon Nova in a blink of an eye and Nova was on the floor, Shiki’s body hovering over her as a harsh gargle and shriek boiled from her mouth.
‘Shit, shit!’ Nova thought as she kneed the boar in the stomach and then rolled away before the fire could spill over her, the liquid flames pinching into the floor where she was laying.
Back in the stands, both Leonard and Danny started to realize that this wasn’t just friendly training anymore, but a full blown war.
“Okay, we have to stop this before they kill each other,” Leonard said as he got up to head over to the door, but he came to a stop when the door didn’t budge and the ogre turned back to the rat in panic.
“They locked the door.”
Nova climbed onto one of the mats as her friend eyed her like a predator to its prey.
“Shiki! You need to calm down! You won, is that what you want to hear?”
“I want to hear your face bashed into the wall!”
Nova leapt onto another patch of mattresses as the fire boar spat a fireball at her, the sparkling orange sphere engulfing the gym equipment as the feline had to pull her tail closer to her due to the heat.
The mountain cat vaulted off of the pile and tried to slip past Shiki to head for the door, but the cop was instantly on her, her strong hands gripping the back of Nova’s shirt and panic fizzled throughout the feline’s body at the thought of her scars showing. The feline realized that her friend was targeting her back with how her hands pulled at the fabric, she was the only one who knew about them.
“Shiki, let go! Please!”
“I’ll show you what I can do! I’ll give you my best shot!”
Without even thinking, Nova’s claws came out and she swiped, a loud roar of pain seizing the room as the grip on her loosened.
“Shiki! Oh my gosh!”
Nova looked over in horror to see three small cuts over the fire boar’s cheek, not deep enough to scar, but enough to where the scent of blood hit the humid air once again.
“I’m so sorry-”
“You’re weak.”
Nova’s eyes rose with shock as Shiki licked at one of the cuts that was near her mouth, her tusks now fully grown out and fire leaked from her mouth like a volcano, the liquid fire pooling at her feet.
‘She’s playing at your emotions, Nova. Don’t fall for it.’
“Shiki, you need to calm down, we are going to get hurt-”
“You’re weak!”
‘Don’t fall for it!’
“You’re weak for hiding it!”
Nova couldn't help but rub the back of her neck, the faintest scar barely poking out from her shirt as Ashur invaded her mind.
The fury that started to simmer in Nova’s gut was almost too much to bear, she had tried to reason, and even though the cat saw regret flash across the fire boar’s face it was too late and the feline let her full set of claws come out. She heard the hard bang of the door and guessed it was the two men trying to get in, but she gladly ignored it as her tail lashed back and forth.
“You know, you don’t have to project your sad little daddy issues onto me.”
Shiki let out an offended snort as she watched the long nails from Nova’s feet grow out and tap against the floor as the two of them started to circle each other, as if they were back in the days before yokai, before humans, just animals trying to survive.
Both of the females could hear the muffled screams from outside the room but Shiki kicked a mat in front of the door without looking as they continued to go around each other.
“At least it made me stronger, and not a fraidy-cat who can’t show herself.”
With a low roar Nova charged, her extended claws digging into the soft floor as she headed straight for Shiki, at the last second edging herself towards the left and then leaping upward with all four of her limbs, her claws sinking into her friend’s thigh.
A shriek echoed into the room and Shiki encased Nova in her arms and threw her off, sending the feline into a pile of mats and it falling over due to impact.
Back outside, Danny had gotten a worker to come and unlock the door while Leonard watched as Nova became a living nightmare. Her tail growing in fur size and her pupils were barely visible from where he stood and she had grown a few inches and he couldn’t help but wince as the feline hid from Shiki and then pounced from the shadows, her hands digging into the boar’s shoulders.
When Danny and the worker came back, the key was useless due to the mattress blocking the door.
“What do you think happened?” Danny asked no one in particular as Shiki slammed Nova into the glass wall to get her off her back and all three yoakis took a step back as they could finally hear the hollering and screams that were traveling between them.
“Daddy’s girl!”
“Weakling!”
“I’m afraid to ask.”
“These yokai’s are unstable in their powers, we are going to have to wait until they calm down,” the employee instructed as Shiki took a hold of Nova’s shirt and threw her into the window, the clear sheet bouncing against her, the feline taking a few seconds to get up before she pounced at the fire boar, using her long legs to kick into her stomach and sent the officer rolling across the floor.
“They’ll kill each other if we wait!” Leonard reported as he eyed Nova’s long fangs, they were even longer than his as they passed her chin.
Both members of the Mud Dogz were beyond concern at what the girls could do to each other, with Shiki’s fire power and Nova’s flexibility they could go at it for hours, neither of them wanting to give in.
The women had attracted a crowd as the commotion extended past the semi sound-proof room and the two men had to keep yokai’s from recording it. But with them having the criminal look they had to give one death-glare and the mammal would put its phone down.
A long yowl bounced off the windows and the ogre and rat yokai turned just in time to see Shiki send Nova through the glass, her body sending the million shards of mirrors scattering across the gym floor as her beaten up body slid with it.
Her curled body stayed still as Shiki climbed through the broken glass, the smoke and fumes that flooded the room she was in as she threw herself onto the hard ground, the glass under her hooves as the yokai’s who had crowded around started to slowly back away.
Danny started to make his way over to his girlfriend but with one look he stood stiff in his spot. The fire that stormed in her eyes could barely scratch the surface of her powers, the cuts and bruises that coated her didn’t seem to bother her as she looked for where Nova had landed.
The rat couldn’t tell if he was utterly terrified or if he should make her mad more often.
“Restrain her!”
Two of the buff workers came up behind Shiki and held her arms back, then instantly wincing at the heat that radiated off of her.
Leonard had raced over to where Nova was laying and he could feel the harsh growls that were rumbling in her chest.
“Nova..”
Her eyes instantly opened and he was caught in the sunset of her face as she rose from the ground and her pupils landed on Shiki, and with one grunt she was on her feet and past the ogre.
“Move.”
The leader of the Mud Dogz swallowed as the feline took a stance and charged towards the fire boar, taking out the worker on the left with a kick and the one on the right with a shove as she took Shiki all for herself.
She had the officer in a dance as her lengthy body crawled over the cop like a bug, her nails digging into any part she could find before Shiki would blow a fireball at her.
“Should we...Should we do something?”
“I really don’t want to die today.”
Shiki finally got a hold of Nova and launched her across the building, the feline letting an earthy scream as her body came into contact with the front desk, the computer and paperwork flying as her body disappeared behind it.
Her white paws curled into the desk as she pulled herself up, her curly hair out of its ponytail and spilled over her face.
“You throw like your weakass mother!”
A wave of heat was jetted over to Nova and she quickly scaled the walls indented grooves of the gyms design, her nails creating long marks into the stainless wall.
Just as Nova pushed herself off the wall and reached for Shiki, a small grunt of surprise escaped her throat and she looked down to find a dart in her thigh. Shiki let out a squeal of shock as one lodged into her leg as well and they both started to wobble. The boar was the first to go down, her body crashing into the floor as the fire that was tussling around the corners of her mouth extinguished.
The tranquilizer that hit Nova was having a harder time making her fall asleep, her pupils shaking within her eyes as she fought to stay awake.
“Jeez, it’s like she’s been dosed before,” the worker who shot them said, making Leonard frown as another dart was poked into her other leg and the feline finally went down, her long fangs slowly shrinking back into her mouth and her tail going back to its thin length.
Both of the yokai were heavily wounded, Shiki was covered in scratches and bruises, a few bite marks were even covering her arms and blood mixed within her brown fur. Nova had burn marks over her, the tips of her fur in certain areas were singed off, both were breathing heavily, both were exhausted to the bone.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It had been over two weeks since that fight, and Shiki hadn’t seen or heard from Nova. Danny had taken her back to her apartment (after him and Leonard had to pay for the damage the girls had caused).
Shiki brushed her hand over one of her bandages and rolled her shoulders, the pulsing of the bruises that covered her back hisses with dull pain.
The fire boar sat on the stair of her fire escape as the city roared under her, the casual conversation of passing yokai poking into her hearing range.
The officer didn’t know what to do with the situation, even if she went up to Nova what would she say? I’m sorry for throwing up your trauma into your face like an asshole?
Of course the things that the feline spat back were...hurtful, they tore into Shiki’s heart like her claws, squeezing every drop of blood out.
Maybe this was a sign that Shiki couldn’t have friends, she was somehow lucky enough to have a healthy relationship with a criminal, the cop didn’t think that her luck would run dry with any friendship.
“Need some company?”
Shiki looked up to find the mountain cat hanging off the railing of the rusted fire escape, a grocery bag hanging off the tips of her fingers.
The feline had a healing black eye and even though she wore her usual wine colored jacket, Shiki could see the bundles of bandages as they pushed outward due to no room under the sleeves.
“Sure.”
Nova settled herself on the fire escape and sat on the ledge next to her, the boar yokai seeing the redness that poked through her torn leggings from the burns. The lights of the city blurred around Nova’s sides as she placed the bag next to Shiki’s legs.
“I brought your favorite.”
Shiki peeked into the bag and saw chocolate covered strawberries along with two handmade smoothes, one being a mixture of purple and the other was a bright pink.
“Did you steal these?”
Nova let out a snort as she reached down with her tail and picked up the purple drink.
“I don’t steal food, that department is taken by Mickey.”
It went silent between the two friends as they ate and drank in silence, Nova moving from the railing to sit next to Shiki on the step.
“How are your wounds?”
“They’ll heal, nothing I can’t handle. Yours?”
“You definitely got claws, you’ll make some yokai happy one day.”
The feline bit into one of the strawberries and stared at it in her hands.
“I want you to know that I’m not using these treats as an apology,” Nova started and as Shiki looked up at her the cat looked away.
“I don’t know what exactly happened with your dad, and for me to remind you of him or even bring him up to coax you into fighting. I don’t even know how to begin the word sorry for what I’ve done.”
“Nova-”
“Leonard was scared of me when I came to, like I was a different animal. When I...when I get like that I don’t recall much of what happened. I just know what I said was wrong, what happened was wrong. I’m sorry, Shiki.”
The fire boar was silent as she took in the somber words and she finished her fruit to push the tears back.
“I’m a lot alike with my father than I would like to admit, and I shouldn’t have let my rage get in the way, I shouldn’t have been like him during that battle.”
“He hurt you, didn’t he?”
The tears that were silent against the cop’s face were now loud and clear and shined bright like shooting stars.
“Yeah...yeah he did.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Who hurt you?”
Nova leaned into her friend’s arm as she let out her own shaky sigh, her own eyes trying to keep the tears at bay.
“His name is Ashur… You can call him my ex or whatever, but uh...He didn’t like it when I disobeyed his rules,” the female choked out and she buried her face in Shiki’s arm as a sob got caught in her throat.
“I’m sorry, Nova.”
Shiki rested her head on top of Nova’s as they took in each other’s presence, the comforting stillness between them was like a bank full of snow; quiet and undisturbed.
The fire boar decided not to press Nova any further about her past, just like the feline didn’t press on what her father did to her.
“Maybe you should tell, Leonard. Out of all of us, I think he would understand the most.”
“You know,” Nova coughed out, the side of her fingers wiping the corner of her eyes to conceal the tears and forced a laugh out.
“You and Leonard are a lot alike.”
“Really? Why do you say that.”
“You both want to be stronger because your shitty dads wanted to be assholes for some reason. But, it’s their loss, those weak excuses of men don’t deserve you both in their lives.”
Shiki let out a shifted chuckle as she took a long drink from her smoothie.
“You’re not weak by the way. This Assur guy better watch his back if he ever comes around, because not only will he have to deal with you, but the rest of us as well.”
“Did….Did you just call him Assur?”
"What's the difference?"
Their laughter hit the night sky as they continued on to eat their snacks and went onward to talk about other things and even talked about the fight they had, going over the strategies and techniques that they can share with each other in the next round.
With Leonard and Danny in the room next time, of course.

The gathered crowd at the Luna Nova University Arena went wild as the voice of professor Chariot Du Nord boomed through the loudspeakers of the massive structure. “Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our annual fight festival, here at LNU!”
Down below, deep in the bowels of the arena, Chariots’ voice and the following raucous cheers of the crowd were nearly completely swallowed up. Not that Diana minded. She had enough input to deal with, with that damned wire ticking away inside her, administering micro-shocks that were too small to cause harm, but just big enough to be massively irritating.
With a sigh, she rose off the bench that stood in the middle of the changing room between the rows of lockers, and stretched. “It’s almost time now.” She mused while her eyes wandered over to the clock hung above the door.
Another muffled wave of cheers confirmed her speculation. SHe closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to block out the annoying ‘tick, tick, tick’ of the wire inside her. “You got this.” she told herself. Despite her best efforts, her heart was beating faster and faster by the second.
That beating only continued to intensify as she left the changing room and made her way out towards the field. The din of the crowd was transforming from a dull sound to something more harsh and defined with each step she took along the long concrete tunnel.
“Are you ready for the first match?!” she heard professor Chariot yell into the microphone. The way the professor was getting into, put a small smile on her face. That smile only grew as she began introducing her opponent for the match.
“Here we go, folks! In the red corner we have a newcomer! Everybody, please welcome Chloé Mercier!”
The sound that came reverberating down into the bowels of the arena was indescribable as the crowd roared full of excitement. Without any thought of her own, her smile only widened.
Damn the wire and it all, this is what she was here for and she would enjoy herself.
“And in the blue corner, we have one of this year’s favorites! Will she be able to keep up with everyone’s expectations, especially after last year’s semi-final upset? There is only one way to find out. Please welcome, Diana Cavendish!”
She felt the cheers of the crowd wash over her as she stepped into the light of the arena. The atmosphere was almost intoxicating, the way it buzzed with excitement and adrenaline. She tried to spot Akko and Hannah among the jubilating masses but to no avail. Then again, she didn’t really need to see them to know that they were watching.
Her opponent was already waiting for her on the field, a grim expression drawn across her features. Diana had seen her on campus a couple times before, but had never really spoken to her. The way the blonde student was looking at her set something within her on edge.
The two of them met in the middle of the arena, gazes leveled against each other. Still smiling, Diana extended her hand towards her opponent. “Let’s have a good match.”
But Chloe simply remained staring at her until she withdrew her hand. What was her problem? She didn’t have any time to think this over before professor Nelson stepped up on the platform with the pair.
“Alright ladies,” her voice had this peculiar drill sergeant quality to it that only a PE teacher could properly pull off “I wanna see a clean fight out here. No excessive force, no striking a downed opponent and most importantly, when I say ‘stop’ you stop whatever it is you’re doing right that instant. Understood?”
Both fighters nodded, their eyes locked in a fierce stare-off.
“Alright then, Take your stances!”
Diana and Chloé both took several steps back while Nelson vacated the ring. The world seemed to be silent for a split second before the match started, the ticking of her wire and the beating of her heart the only sounds audible to her.
“START!”
Diana took a step towards her opponent, determined to land the first blow. But as soon as her foot touched the ground she froze. Her leg didn’t seem to want to obey her orders as it stayed planted where it was. Distressed, she tried to backpedal but found that she couldn't will any of her limbs to move.
“Now that’s a sight to behold. What’s the matter Cavendish? Did you suffer a sudden bout of stage fright?” A voice suddenly assaulted her ears, so loud that it seemed to be directly inside her head.
Diana knew in an instant who that voice belonged to. “Get out of my head.” she hissed staring straight at Chloé who was favoring her with a cocky smile as she stepped closer to her immobilized opponent.
“What, are you afraid I might find something that I’m not supposed to, Danny?”
Diana redoubled her efforts to move, fury beginning to build in the back of her mind. But none of her efforts bore fruit. The only thing she achieved was sagging down to her knees.
Chloé who was now standing over her laughed inside her head, her visage twisted into a mocking parody of itself. “You know Cavendish, I have hated you from the moment I first laid my eyes on you.”
She swung her leg out behind her and gave Diana a hefty kick into her abdomen. She gagged and staggered backwards on what little strength her legs still had in them. Chloé went on “You and your little clique of friends think you’re so damn special, completely inconsiderate of anyone outside your little circle.”
“What are you-” Diana started but got cut short when Chloé hit her square in the face with a right hook.
“The great and mighty Diana Cavendish with her flock of groupies and adoring friends. Or should I call them your harem?” Diana took another fist to the face, staggering her closer and closer to the edge of the field. “Did you ever have to work for anything in your life? Did that Cavendish name come included with friends and yes-men? Do you even have any idea what it means to struggle?”
Diana was so astounded for a second that she didn’t even notice the blood running down her nose. “What are you even talking about?”
“Don’t play dumb with me!” Chloé grabbed her by the chin and forced her head upwards to look her in the eyes again. “I’m gonna show you what struggling looks like!”
The blonde wound up for another punch with her free hand and Diana knew she probably wouldn’t remain conscious through this. At this point she had already given up trying to fight against Chloé’s block in her mind. She closed her eyes and braced for the impact
The sounds from the arena that had been drowned out by her opponent’s monologue inside her head came flooding back over her. The astounded calling of Chariot’s voice over the loudspeakers, the cheers, the shocked gasps, all of it. But one voice in particular seemed to rise above the rest.
“Kick her ass, Danny!”
“Akko!” Diana whispered, her eyes snapping open to see Chloé’s fist only centimeters from her face. With no time to think her body simply reacted on its own. The arena suddenly was blinded by a flash of lightning, followed by an incredibly loud thunder crack.
Chloé staggered back with a surprised yelp, as the crowd fell silent, mirroring the blonde’s surprise. Diana felt the pressure on her mind fall off to zero in an instant. A smile returned to her face as she rose to her feet, blocking out the pain from her stomach and face.
Her opponent stared at her in shock, cradling her lightning scarred arm. “W-what did you j-just do?”
Now it was Diana’s turn to stride towards her adversary with a cocky smile on her lips. “Oh, not much. I put the positive and negative terminals for a discharge onto my face.”
Chloé staggered back, tears beginning to form in her eyes. “N-no, stay away!”
Diana, now bearing a smile not too dissimilar from Chloé’s just moments before began charging towards her staggered foe with her arms swung out behind her.
“NO!” Chloé screamed as Diana brought her hands together on either side of her head.
“STOP!”
She froze for the second time that match as Nelson's voice boomed out over the arena. Chloé had her fixed in a wide-eyed stare, feeling the electricity emanating from Diana’s palms stand the hairs on her head. She heard the hum of electricity ready to arc over; she smelt the ozone tang of ionizing air around her.
“You know what’s funny?” Diana asked, keeping her hands in position next to Chloé’s head. “You got inside my head and yet you still know absolutely nothing about me.”
She finally withdrew her arms and let the built up charge dissipate from her palms. She used her jacket sleeve to wipe off her bloody nose.
Nelson, who had stepped back into the Arena, made a wide gesture with her arms in Diana’s general direction. “The winner of the first match by TKO is Diana Cavendish!”
Diana let her eyes wander across the wildly cheering crowd as she took in the applause. Chloé took that opportunity to slink off and get some medical attention for her arm without so much as a word to Diana.
Her eyes finally came to rest on two people in the crowd who seemed to be almost jumping out of their seats at the outcome of the first fight. Even from this distance it was hard to mistake Hanna and Akko for anyone else. Waving in the general direction of her two biggest fans she whispered to herself “Thanks you two. Couldn’t have done it without you.”

Ultimate Spiderman (Peter Parker x Stark! OC x Sam Alexander x Danny Rand)
Summary:When people hear ‘Maya Stark’ everyone would think about the perfect, smart. good looking, rich, student body president of Midtown High.Nobody but her childhood friend Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man and her new team of heroes. Ava, Sam, Danny, and Luke AKA white tiger, Nova, Iron fist, and Power Man knows about her secret of being Queen’s very own Mistress, soon to be ULTIMATE Mistress
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
{Peter's POV}
"Leap, forward leap. Flip!" Batroc laughed as I raced after him up the building with my spider-cycle. "C'est bon. C'est magnifique."
"Your suckatude knows no bounds, Batroc." I said as I slinged a web on his foot as I tried to slow him down but instead he managed to pull me off my Spider-cycle and make me hit places as he leaped around like a giant frog. Soon I was face flat on the back of a billboard as Baltroc got away.
________________________________________________________________________________
Batroc the Leaper. So off the radar, SHIELD doesn't have a real file on him. What's to know? He's French. He leaps.
Another thing you guys must be wondering,Where the heck is Maya? Well, She's at home getting work done early.
Why? You'll see later
________________________________________________________________________________
"And zee bug goes splat." Baltroc taunted. "But where is zee witch?"
{At Stark Household}
Maya sneezed as she suddenly felt ticked off. She stopped typing her report.
"I feel like somebody just called me a witch...?" Maya shivered slightly as she went back to typing. "Probably just my imagination."
{Back with Spiderman}
"Taunting me is one thing, Baltroc" I said as I got down. "But calling names on my favorite partner is a whole nother level of wrong" I felt irritation, mixed with confusion. Why was I having such a strong reaction to this? Maya's been called a witch plenty of times, but I never felt this overprotective. I quickly pounced on him as he was about to getaway.
"Spider-Man. Nick Fury says get back to SHIELD HQ for training." I hung upside down next to White Tiger.
"Just because he's the director of SHIELD doesn't mean he can boss me around. Besides, Fury would be the first to say going solo on B-listers like Batroc is good training. Don't be so official, White Tiger." I said as I got on my feet and began walking. "When life gives you Batroc, make French toast." Baltroc then kicked my face hard, sending me flying as he got up with a laugh.
"A boot in the face!" White Tiger tried to pounce on Baltroc with her claws but he moved away just in time as he bumped me hard, hitting the billboard playing J. Jameson.
"Way to go it alone," I said annoyed as I sat there, a bit stuck.
"Get lazy and even the lame ones can splatter you. That's what training's for." White Tiger said mockingly. "That and mastering new tools like electric claws." White Tiger bloated as she activated her electric claws. I managed to get out of the billboard as Baltoc chased white Tiger. I quickly made a giant web as White tiger clawed a water plant as Baltoc hit the web and slinged far, defeating him.
"Is Spider-Man and Mistress a student at Midtown High? - Recently it was attacked" J.Jameson said before Baltoc hit the billboard making it explode.
"Where does he get that stuff?" I asked myself before White Tiger and I made our way back to S.H.I.E.L.D.
***{Maya's POV} ***
I sighed as I closed my laptop. Finally finished my essay reports, school check-ins, and tomorrow night's homework while also making sure I have free time tonight to catch that Sci-Fi movie with Danny.
.________________________________________________________________________________
Why am I getting things done early? You may ask.
Well, today is my annual every 19th of a month, a training session with the great powerful Sorcerer, Dr.Strange.
My training with him is once a month since he's always busy, and he is special because since I'm a sorceress I can learn to be better with my mind and magic with a great Sorcerer like Dr.Strange.
________________________________________________________________________________
I yawned as I fell on my bed. Man, I'm tired.
***{Timeskip}***
I was at school in my student office since I got here really early to check up on everything and leave a detailed schedule on what the Vice President, Gwen Stacy. I checked the time. 7:59. I gasped and quickly gathered my things as I quickly made my way to the cafeteria. I seemed to have made it just in time as I saw Danny saved me a seat next to him and Ava. I gratefully thanked him as I sat down to listen to Principal Coulson.
"all city campuses run on high alert. Report any suspicious persons immediately." Coulson said as Peter dashed in here.
"I think I see one now" Flash joked at Peter as I frowned before smiling at Peter as he made his way to the seat next to Ava.
"Pretty good show with Batroc ze Leaper, huh, Ava?" Peter asked nudging her as she seemed unamused.
"Lapse training, and late for school? Good show, Parker" Peter sighed as he sat on the opposite side with Harry and MJ.
"Hey, Pete. They're saying Spidey goes to the school. Girls love heroes, so help me spread the rumor it's me, huh?" Harry slyly said.
"It probably is you, Harry. Who else could afford all those webs he squirts all over everything?" MJ stated.
"How could he be spiderman when you were both there at Harry's party at the same time Spider-Man arrived? Harry can't be in two places, can he? Plus he could just be having a sponsor." I inputted.
"Maya's got a point, And Spider-man doesn't squirt, he shoots," Peter said demonstrating it "And I don't think it's a good idea for anyone to pose as him right now." He added on before Flash pushed him off his seat, sitting in his place.
"Speaking of squirts" Flash mockingly said as Peter got up and frowned at Flash.
"Thompson, Parker, pay attention" Principal Coulson snapped as I looked over at the man next to Coulson. Almost no hair, white strap around his head. Skinny yet muscular figure. And, his aura seemed off. It doesn't give off a normal aura, but instead a darker one. He's harboring evil intentions, but what is it? "Your gym teacher, Mr.Molskin will be out due to a freak accident after last night's game. Mr. Jager will be your substitute until further notice." I wonder how freaky.
"I look forward to the challenge of unlocking your ...hidden talents," Mr.Jager said with an accent as he looked at our group specifically as if searching us for something. I eyed him suspiciously, not trusting him at all now. I felt my magic senses go off as I saw him lock eyes with me.
'bad intentions are being harbored, Stark'
Peter and I's senses are sorta different in a way. His only alerts him of danger that is seconds away from occurring, mines comes with a voice that tells me something that hints me towards potential danger.
________________________________________________________________________________
Awkward phrasing or veiled threat? You be the judge.
The answer is pretty obvious
________________________________________________________________________________
***
We were in the gym now, we were arranging the teams in dodgeball when one of the Office helpers came in and gave Mr.Jager a pass, he didn't seem so happy. I wonder why? He grudgingly made his way towards me and gave me the pass with a frown.
"Go, Miss Stark" I took the pass as I packed my things, while also stealing glances at Mr.Jagar. Why is he so upset about me leaving early?
"Annual Magic session?" Peter whispered as he handed me my phone-which I lent him earlier since his was dead.
"Yeah. Doctor Strange may be patient, but he doesn't like being kept waiting, besides I learn a lot from him since he's the only other person I know that shares practically the exact same abilities as I do" I whispered back as I placed my shoulder bag on.
"Text me later, you know what time I get off training"
"I hate gym without you, Maya"
"One a month Peter, Once a month. I'll make it up to you"
"Tonight?""Got plans with Danny, Tomorrow night?"
"What are you two doing?"
"We're going to watch a Sci-fi movie"
"Oh, Okay"
"Got to go, remember. Text me later" Peter nodded as I left the room, Feeling Mr.Jagar's deep stare as I left.By the time I made it to the office, I saw Doctor Strange sitting there waiting, in his casual clothes. I grinned as I made my way there."Mr.Strange," I said with a grin. He looked up with a small smile.
"Let's get going, shall we? Maya" I nodded as we made our way to a dark alley. "You remember the group transportation spell from our last lesson, don't you?"
"I've been practicing a lot"
"Did you torture your father?" Dr. Strange chuckled as I nervously chuckled, remembering how annoyed and irritated dad was by the number of times I had purposefully accidentally teleported him all over the Avengers Tower whenever I practiced.
"Maybe...?"
"Why don't we put the spell into use? Teleport us in our usual spot in the forest clearing in the Amazon." I nodded as I focused my mind on that location.
"Cali mon ta rēn fooloo belaga." I chanted the spell. I opened my eyes to see we were in our clearing...except I was on the grass and Doctor Strange was in the lake soaking...oops? I helped Doctor Strange out mumbling sorry a lot of times as he brushed it off as he snapped his fingers drying himself quickly.
"Except for that misfortune of me being in the lake, you seem to have successfully brought us here" I grinned as he waved his hand as we were soon in our cloaks. "Since your strongest point is your mind, we'll start with meditating to sharpen your focus and to get you relaxed. I can sense you've been stressed recently." I sighed as I sat down with my legs crossed as Dr.Strange did the same.
"Yes. With school going haywire, New team, and stark internship. I do have a lot on my plate"
"Seems your a very well relied on person"
"it's an honor and a curse"
"You know the drill" I nodded as I took a breath in and closed my eyes. I focused on clearing my mind. I felt my body go light as I took slow breaths. I focused my mind on my breathing. I sensed Doctor Strange was doing the same. "Free your mind of worries," Doctor Strange said in a low, calming tone. "Let go of any doubts or regrets" I sighed in relaxation.
***{Peter's POV}***
20 minutes in and I already miss Maya a bunch. We played dodgeball and I allowed myself to get hit in the face by a ball I could have easily dodged but I didn't, for the sake of my identity. Even though I got snarky responses from Ava, Maya not only gave me snarky responses about how I shouldn't be getting myself hurt to hide my identity and just dodge simple things like that, she would also secretly place her hand on mines to use a bit of her magic to make the pain go away when nobody is noticing us, which makes getting slammed by a dodgeball in the face by Flash Thompson all worth it.
"I'm looking for finalists for the citywide athletic achievement contest. I want to see everything you've got in this obstacle course. Push yourselves to the limit. Don't give me less than 110 percent." I never even knew those things existed! Couch Jager walked down the line us students had stood in. He made us all look him in the eye which was pretty creepy.
"You could learn a thing from him," Ava said as she glanced at me from her spot next to me in line.
"How to creep people out?" I asked as I glanced back at her oddly.
"Mr.Thompson!" Couch Jager yelled as he turned around. "Go!"
"I'll show you how it's done," Flash said cockily. "And make sure to record it people, I want Maya to see this!" I rolled my eyes. Maya wouldn't be interested in him even if he walked through fire. Flash ran through the obstacle course only stumbling a bit before falling face flat in front of the couch, not bad for a rookie. "Good, huh, coach? - Am I in?" Flash asked excitedly as Couch Jager turned his back.
"Okay, next one up." He yelled. "Go! Ayala, next." Ava went through the course with her swiftness through being white Tiger. "Rand, next!" Danny went through with ease with incredible balance. "Osborn, next!" Harry went through the course stumbling and tripping, obviously not meant for these kinds of stuff. "Cage! Go!" Luke went through the course before getting stuck in the tire instead of going through it.
"Can we get some man-sized tires up in here people? Seriously." He said annoyed.
"Mr.Parker, your last" Couch Jager said in a deep tone as they finally got Luke out of the tire.
________________________________________________________________________________
How sweet would it be to show them all what I can really do? Move on to the citywide championships?
.________________________________________________________________________________
"You can begin anytime today." Couch Jager said, pulling me out of my daydreams. "The course doesn't run itself, Mr.Parker." I purposely made myself fail as I pretended to struggle climbing the wall before falling down, fake of course. Man I wish Maya was here to take the pain away. Couch Jager grunted as I got up and went up to the others. "I'll see three of you tomorrow" He said to us. "Rand, Osborn, Thompson. The rest of you, anemic."
"Tomorrow? Saturday?" Danny exclaimed as Couch Jager walked off.
"Did I stutter?"
"Danny, Flash, and Harry? Harry? I aced that thing." Ava complained. "Why am I not a finalist? Because I'm a girl?"
"Are you the only person on Earth who sees school on a Saturday as a good thing?" I asked.
"Maya and Fury were right. You are too soft" Ava said. "You know, I say we show Mr.Jager who can do what. You and I are going to come back tomorrow anyway, list or no list and run that course again. You know what, I'll even bring Maya along to do it too" By this point the others already walked off.
"If I'm late, you can start without me. Finish too. I'm beat. I have tomorrow set aside for sleep and a movie marathon with Maya by night " I yawned out. "Doesn't that Jager creep you out?" I said as we looked at him doing Jumping Jacks facing the wall.
"I work with a guy whose feet stick to walls. No one creeps me out." Ava said before she walked off. I stared at Couch Jager stretching suspiciously before walking off myself.
***
I was having an amazing dream of J. Johnson proclaiming every day to be Spiderman Day with me sitting on Iron Man and Thor's shoulders as the crowd cheered my name with confetti everywhere before my phone began to rang waking me up as I groaned. I picked up my phone to see Ava calling.
"Hello? Peter, have you heard from Harry?" Ava asked, "It's noon, and no one's come out from the gym yet."
"I'm not late for training," I said as I rubbed my eyes.
"Something's wrong. We can't get into school. The fence is electrified." I heard Maya's voice. "I'm almost certain it has to do with Jager"
"It's Saturday. Why are you-Did you say the school's electrified?" I said as I bolted up from my bed as I went to get my Spider-man suit.
"Get here now!" the girls yelled as they hung up before I smirked and got there quick in my Spider-man suit as I stood next to Ava.
"That quick for you?" I smugly said as Ava had to take a double look as Maya sighed. "Yeah, I'm that good"
{Maya's POV}
Ava and I quickly changed into our own hero selves as I levitated myself over the gate as the other two leaped over.
"Something's up." White Tiger said. "We should call Coulson." White Tiger began to call on her com wrist before Spidey interrupted.
"No." He said stopping her. "We should go solo on this!" We raised our eyebrows at him as he began to explain himself. "Eh, you know, together, the three of us. We can handle this." Spidey placed his hand on her shoulder before she glared at him with a warning look as he soon let go before we looked at the school. "SHIELD added security to protect the school from well, for us. Probably just a misfire."
"Or Jager took them captives" I inputted as I glared at the school. "My senses gave off a warning when I looked into his eyes the other day."
"Yeah, maybe but, who electrifies a fence and leaves the door unlocked?" Spidey said as he opened the door as we moved in the dark hallways.
"Dark, creepy, dank." White Tiger complained as she stepped in a puddle.
"I told you not to come to school on a Saturday" Spidey said.
"Hello? Is anyone there? Help!" We got serious as we ran towards the source. "Help! Can anyone hear me? Oh, I sure could use a hand. I've got myself in quite a pickle here." The Janitor said as we stopped to see him pinned to the wall by a robotic arm, the security system. "Oh, if Irving Forbush could see me now." He gushed.
"Hang tight, Janitor Guy. We'll get you out" Spidey began to pull on the arm as I sighed. I focused my mind on levitating the arm off.
"Movere." I ordered the robotic arm as my eyes began to glow purple as I moved the robotic arm from the Janitor giving him time to move out before I let go of the arm as did Spidey as it clammed itself back in the wall. Spidey walked back to us as he wiped his hands.
"Mucho malfunction security system." He said as the Janitor took out a handkerchief to wipe his forehead before we heard a click
."Don't move" White Tiger said as we froze in place.
"Oh my," the Janitor said still a bit shaken from the robotic arm, he moved a bit before he fell down a pit as we quickly went around the pit as we heard a thud, guessing he had a rough landing. "Wow, there's a lot of wax build-up down here." Guessing he's fine. The pit closed on us as we stood up.
"Who built the security? Dr. Doom?" Spidey questioned before we began searching around. Once we passed Coulson's office White Tiger snapped.
"I'm calling Coulson" She attempted to call him as I noticed something green shining from his office as I looked through the window to see him.
"No phone needed," I said as Spidey took a glance behind me. "He's already here"
"On a Saturday? Agent Coulson?" White Tiger questioned as she walked up to the door. Spidey slowly opened the door.
"Don't come into my office" Coulson said before we opened the door to see him upside down, hanging on top of his desk with nothing but a white men's tank top and his underwear.
"I can see why he wanted to be alone." Spidey jokes. "Nice tighty whities." I cringed as I looked somewhere else. Seeing my dad in his underwear is one thing, seeing my principal in them is a whole nother story.
"The whole school is rigged," Coulson informed us. "Taskmaster corrupted the SHIELD security tech."
"Who?" White Tiger asked.
"Assassin. Hates me. Hates Fury"
"We have to contact Fury" White Tiger exclaimed as she tried to but seemed to fail.
"You can't. He jammed the frequencies." Coulson said. "You shouldn't have come to school today."
"Told you." Spidey mocked as I slightly sent a shock at him as he began to rub his arm. "Oww! Maya!" Should've watched his mouth. If there was one thing us Starks hate, it's being proven we're wrong.
"Work on getting yourselves out of here, and then find Fury. Don't waste time on me, and definitely don't go after Taskmaster alone." Coulson commanded. "He's a combat chameleon. Do you understand?"
"Wait," Spidey said. "He was bitten by a radioactive chameleon?"
"Not everyone is bitten by a radioactive living thing to gain powers," I said as I sweatdropped before we all heard a yell as I soon recognized it as,
"That's Harry!" Spidey exclaimed. "I remember that scream from slasher movie night at camp Maya and I went to a summer ago! Let's go!" Before I can object the two ran off as I sighed and ran as well.
"If Taskmaster sees you do it, he can do it. Fight him once, he's as good as you, you hear me?" Coulson yelled as Harry yelled again. Bet a million the two didn't hear him as well as I heard his warning.
"What did Coulson just say?" White Tiger asked as I caught up with them as we turned a corner.
"I don't know. I couldn't hear him." Spidey said confirming my statement. I should tell them, but I'd rather make things interesting and see how long it takes before they realize it themselves. My senses began to go off as did Spidey's.
"My senses! Get down!" I yelled as we slid down as rockets went past us quick before we began running again.
"If Flash and Harry are here at least they've got Danny to protect them," Spidey said as one of the two hallways were closing.
"I'll take this way! You guys check the other!" I yelled as I slid under the closing gate as they did the same in the other. I had a feeling Danny would have to separate from them to really fight, he might need backup. "O me ducere ad Rand" I muttered as I soon began to sense Danny's aura nearby as I followed the arrow I conjured. By the time I made it to him, I seem to have been too late as I saw Danny unconscious. "Danny!" I gasped as the wall behind me shut as well leaving the two of us trapped. I kneeled down as I placed his head on my lap as I checked him out.
________________________________________________________________________________
AND NO! Not the way you perverted readers. I'm 16 and Danny's just a friend I care a lot for, okay?________________________________________________________________________________
I saw how beaten up he looked as he kept groaning in pain. Taskmaster must've used all his moves on him, and let me tell you this, his moves are NOT ones that are little pain. His injuries are really major but there's no blood and it seems like his pulses are still there. Even healing this would take a bit of my core magic...but it's for the sake of Danny, right? He's done a lot to hold us all together. It's my turn to return his generosity. I took a deep breath as I lifted my hands to hover above him as I closed my eyes.
"Curare patiens, nunc autem poena inops dolor, maneant modo poena, et non reverta!" I chanted as I felt a glow surround me and Danny. "Curare patiens, nunc autem poena inops dolor, maneant modo poena, et non reverta!" I kept chanting as I slowly healed Danny. Curare patiens, nunc autem poena inops dolor, maneant modo poena, et non reverta!" Danny began to wake up as I soon noticed and stopped chanting as I felt faint a bit.
"Maya?" He said with a husky tone, which strangely made me flush slightly.Maybe it was just me being exhausted. I smiled as I soon collapsed as he- now fully recovered- caught me. "Maya!" I felt him remove my mask and placed down the hood of my cloak as he kept yelling my name.
"I'm weak, but I'm not deaf" I joked as Danny sighed.
"You didn't have to exert yourself in that way, You had me worried"
"Don't ugh, worry. I used less than Venom and since this is the second time since last week, I think I'll not faint as much." I saw the lights go back on and doors open.
"Guess Taskmaster was taken care of"
"We missed the fun" I chuckled breathlessly.
"Can you still change back to your average clothes? I think I hear sirens"
"Can you help me up?" Danny nodded with a small blush as he placed my arm over his shoulder as his other arm supported my back as he wrapped it behind my waist. "Should I wrap my leg to cover up I'm just magically exhausted?"
"Probably" Danny joked as he slightly chuckled.

“No one in this school is cool enough to be Spidey or that cool chick Mistress, so forget that rumor. " Flash excitedly said to a newscast. "That said, I totally helped Spider-Man save the dump. I had no clue where Mistress was but I bet you I helped her out too," We all including Coulson watched from afar as Flash and Harry get interviewed. I had my leg wrapped up with a bandage from the Nurse's office which conveniently was where we were trapped in as I let Danny support me.
"Flash Thompson finally did me a favor." Peter joked.
"Taskmaster never even suspected Peter Parker was Spider-Man and since Maya was absent, Mistress wasn't suspected either," Ava said. "Your creativity was just as strategic as my training." She praised Peter. "More even."
"Really?" Peter raised his eyebrow a bit confused from the sudden praise.
"Going solo paid off, okay?"
" There's still one thing I don't get at all," Peter said as he turned to Coulson. "The tight briefs. Really?"
"I swim," Coulson said sternly as he turned his head.
"Leave the man's underwear alone, Pete, or he'll get short with you." Ava joked as we all laughed while Coulson walked away having quite enough jokes from us.

I needed to see you - Ethan x MC fanfic
Summary: After Ellie’s successful Ethic’s Hearing, her roommates throw her a party to celebrate. A lot of familiar faces scatter around the house, but is the one person she looks for will be there?
Author’s note: Another MC x Ethan fanfic, since I finally have some free-time and just LOVE this couple. Let me know what you think! <3
Tagging: @cora-nova @lilyofchoices @paisleylovergirl @dandeservestheworld @mfackenthal @quacksonlover @blackcatkita @writtenbycandy . Let me know if you wanna be tagged in future works for Ethan x MC/Open Heart/Perma tag! Let me know if you want to be untagged! ^^
The chat with Ethan was open on Ellie’s screen. She was staring at her phone for the last fifteen minutes.
Still no response...
- Hey, wanted to check up on you. How have you been? - Ellie
- I confessed everything. Everyone tells me it was stupid. You’re probably thinking the same thing.... Just wanted to tell you. - Ellie
- My ethic’s hearing is tomorrow morning. Wish me luck! - Ellie
- By some higher power... I actually passed it. I get to keep my medical licences. I’m still a doctor, yay! - Ellie
Her shift ended a couple hours ago. She was sitting in her bedroom, the sound of her roommates (minus Landry since, thankfully, he moved out) were preparing a party to celebrate their victory.
Not as big as the housewarming party, really. Just a couple of friends. Medical interns, the surgical interns with Bryce, Rafael and a couple of nurses who supported Ellie at the hearing. Apparently Danny convinced some of them to vouch for her and Ellie was entirely grateful.
She was supposed to be relieved, happy... But something was missing. And she knew exactly what it was.
Her gaze wandered back to the phone in her hand.
She was hopeless.
She knew Ethan needed time. She wanted to be there for him but knew he needed his space right now.
And she was willing to give it to him, really. But she couldn’t help but feel a sting in her heart for not being able to talk to him. To see him. To hear his thoughts. Even the snarky ones, the brooding ones. The collected, calculated, cautious ones.
“Ellie, are you ready yet? We’re almost done setting everything up--” Jackie entered the room without notice, but she stopped mid-sentence when she saw Ellie moping around.
“Oh hell no-” She pulled the phone out of Ellie’s arms. “You are not sitting around here sinking into some kind of pity-party since Mr. fancypants isn’t replying to your messages. Get up, get dressed, and get your butt over to the living room who’s filled with people who came here to celebrate with you!”
Ellie stared at Jackie stunned, mouth falling agape.
“Are you going to keep staring at me or are you going to put a bomb outfit and get out there?” Jackie wasn’t playing around, and Ellie stood up, nodding.
“Fine. You’re completely right. I’ll get ready in no-time. Can I have my phone back?” Ellie put a confident smile over her face.
Jackie WAS right. Ellie should be out there, celebrating.
Ethan will come around, eventually, she hoped. But she shouldn’t be sitting around and wallowing while waiting for him. He wouldn’t want that for her either.
“Once you’re dressed. And put it on silent mode. Understood?” Jackie ordered.
Ellie nodded frantically, and got up. She pulled a nice dress out of her wardrobe and put it on. She took off her hair-tie and finally let that messy bun of hers fall gracefully over her shoulders.
Turning around, she grinned at Jackie.
“How do I look?” She was smiling for real this time.
“Amazing,” Jackie nodded proudly. “Now let’s go!”
Letting Jackie pull her out by her hand, Ellie entered a buzzing with life living room.
Everyone seemed to have a good time, playing drinking games or just chatting. But everyone stopped in their tracks and looked over to Ellie.
Smiles already spreading over all of the familiar faces, they raised their drinks at her.
“let’s welcome the woman of the hour!” Elijah called. “Hooray!” Everyone answered.
It felt a bit silly, since they were celebrating Ellie avoiding being fired and losing her medical licences rather than some actual accomplishment, but it was still heartwarming to watch how all the people she cared about cared about her and gathered in one place to support her.
She took a glass of her own, and raised it at them. “Thank you all for coming, hope you have a good time!” And everyone drunk up.
She mingled with the people who came to the party, greeting everyone as she approached. After a few beers she decided to take a break, and get out to the balcony to get some fresh air.
There were certainly more friendly faces here than she’d anticipated. Even Aurora showed up. It didn’t come as too much of a surprise, given she and Ellie had become closer friends over the time, but it was still notable.
But even among all the familiar faces Ellie still couldn’t help but to search for one certain face.
Ethan’s, obviously.
And she didn’t think he’d come. How could he? He didn’t even know about the party... Let along reach out to her recently.
Shaking her head, she looked back inside. She was about to enter when she saw through the transparent curtains at the balcony’s door that Sienna was opening the front door, welcoming another guest in.
He was much taller than her, and Ellie’s heart fluttered in her chest when she saw those dark locks of hair.
Could it really be...?
Sienna moved aside, now letting him come into full view.
It was him. It was Ethan. He was there.
How?
She couldn’t hear them talking, but she saw Ethan push his hands into his pockets and ask Sienna something. Sienna immediately replied, smiling brightly as always. She pointed into the direction of the balcony, and Ellie felt weak at her knees. She took a step back, catching the railing of the balcony to balance herself.
Ethan thanked Sienna, and headed towards the balcony, Ellie’s heart thumped in her chest like a drum.
He entered the balcony, closing the door behind him, but stood at the entrance. His ocean blue eyes searching intently for hers, but looking hesitant when finally meeting.
“Hi.” Ellie smiled at him. She wasn’t sure what he was doing here, or why was she so nervous, but at least she managed to say something.
“Hey.” He smiled back, nodding, looking her over up and down. “You look-” He catches himself, taking a breathe. “You look great, by the way.”
Suddenly he’s looking anywhere but her. Somewhere in the distance or simply avoiding her eye-contact, and gulps.
Ellie bites at her lower lip.
She doesn’t know what was she expecting, or why was she disappointed.
It’s not like she was waiting for a grand declaration of love, that is...
But just... More than a ‘Hi’ before turning around... Probably.
“Uh... Thanks.” She hopes her tone doesn’t sell out her disappointment.
“So... You’re back in Seattle?” She asks, trying to act casual, even though nothing about it casual at the moment...
It was like there was something between them and there wasn’t, at the same time. Confusing and frustrating but also comforting and promising.
“I guess so.” He answers dryly, at first... And Ellie’s about to scoff and go inside but he manages to speak up again before she can do it.
“I wasn’t planning to come back just yet... But then I had to.” He finally looks back and meets her gaze. He crosses the balcony and stands beside her, leaning on the railings as well.
“You had to come back?” This time, she definitely sounded disappointed.
He wasn’t there to see her - of course he wasn’t...
“There was someone I had to see-” He looked into her eyes and she swore she could drown in them.
“Someone...?” She couldn’t help but sound hopeful, even if she firmly tried to.
“God, Ellie...” And before she knew it, he was kissing her.
Desperately, but so tenderly at the same time.
It felt like coming home. Like it was setting everything right where it should’ve been.
He caressed her face with both hands and she let herself be pulled against him.
God. She wanted that moment to last forever.
But like all things, it needed to end. But what followed... Didn’t seem so bad at all.
They pulled apart, still standing incredibly close to each other, not bringing themselves to break apart completely.
“I needed to see you, if that wasn’t clear enough,” Ethan cleared his throat, just the hint of a pinkish color rising to his cheeks.
“I kinda got that, after that, uhm, kiss.” Ellie was definitely blushing, but she didn’t mind. She felt so happy at the moment she couldn’t care if her face was as red as a tomato.
Ethan chuckled, and Ellie joined in, giggling and leaning her head over Ethan’s chest.
“But how did you know there was a party?” She suddenly remembered, the question flying out of her mouth before she could process it. She raised her head and looked at him.
“I... Didn’t.” Ethan shrugged, throwing a look back inside.
The party was still in full-motion, and people were having such a great time no one noticed they were missing.
“I was texting you the whole night, but once you didn’t answer... Thought I’d stop by. I guessed your shift would be over, but when I heard the music playing so loudly... I almost didn’t knock.” Ethan confessed, and Ellie’s eyes widened.
Her phone! Right!
She pulled it out of her pocket, turning the screen on to see five new text-messages from Ethan.
“Jackie made me put it on silent mode. Guess I forgot to check it. Sorry,” She furrowed her eyebrows at him apologetically.
“It’s alright,” he assured her.
“So... Why did you knock, anyway?” Ellie asked, wrapping her hands around Ethan.
It was such a small gesture... But it felt incredibly giddy to be able to do it without him pulling away or telling her they can’t.
Ethan wrapped one of his hands around her in response, pulling her even closer against him, as if saying he felt the same way.
“Well, I figured if you were having a party, you must be home. And I couldn’t wait another moment to see you, knowing you were somewhere behind that door.” Ethan admitted, and Ellie raised to her tip-toes to give him a peck on his lips.
“Kind of reminds me of Miami. When another door was keeping us apart.” Ellie said, in a matter-of-fact voice.
Ethan huffed, a snarky sound leaving his lips. “You have no idea how much I wanted to tear that door down and go to sleep with you, instead of that lonely couch I had.” he let her know, suddenly no walls standing between them, keeping them apart.
She wanted to ask ‘Then why didn’t you?’ - But they both knew the answer to that.
They were still mentor and student back then, but now... They weren’t. Not at the moment at least.
“Hey... Ethan?” An idea sprung to her head, and she bit down on her lower lip in anticipation.
“Yeah?” She recognized his intrigued tone as a smile played over his lips.
“There’s nothing stopping us right now from going to my bedroom...” She raised a suggestive eyebrow at him, as his hands glided down her body - settling over her waist as she wrapped her hands around his neck.
“There are a lot of interns inside.” Ethan motioned towards the crowd, although he didn’t say ‘no’ and didn’t really sound against the idea.
“They’re so caught up in their own conversations they probably wouldn’t really notice, and even if they did - They’re so drunk I doubt they’ll remember.” Ellie noted.
Admittedly it wasn’t the best plan, or even the best excuse, but...
“Hell, You’ve convinced me.” Ethan winked at her, not wasting another moment before throwing the door back inside open and pulling her in with him.

65. When Someone Flirts With The Father
Pein
You, Pein and Elliot were all out and gathering groceries. Normally, you'd do this without Pein, but you made him take a break from work to do something as a family. At first, he wasn't happy about it, but when he saw how happy it made Elliot, he went along with your plan. Though, now he was regretting it. You left him with Elliot to go get some personal products and a man approached Pein and began to talk with him.
“Have I already said how handsome you are, sir?” The man stated with a flutter of his eyelashes. He was flirting with Pein? Pein wasn't sure but he was sure of one thing, he wanted the man to go away as soon as possible.
“I have a spouse already, our child is very literally right next to me,” Pein explained to the man who was staring at him like he was a piece of meat. The man's eyes flicked down to Elliot and changed to a look of pure disgust.
“That's unfortunate, I could show you a world you have never seen before if you'd just come with me, sweetheart.” Pein just became angry now, not only because of the man's words but the way he looked at Elliot infuriated him to no end.
“Well, sweetheart, my husband isn't interested in some cheap whore like you. So back off.” You growled as you came up from behind the man. The man visibly jumped, took a look at your angry face and scurried off to find someone else.
“Thank you for that _____,” Pein stated as he breathed a sigh of relief. Elliot, who'd been hiding behind his father stepped out and hugged you.
“You saved Dad! You're our hero!” You couldn't help but smile at your child as he spoke those words. You looked up at Pein to see a barely-there smile on his face as well.
“Let's finish up and get home before any other creeps come onto you, alright?” You couldn't help but chuckle now that the situation was over, however, Pein just cringed and nodded his head. So, you three finished up the shopping and headed home.
Zetsu
Zetsu, you, Danny and Sammy were all out at the park. Everything was going great. The kids were finally playing nice with the other kids and the weather was just right. Not too hot and not too cold with not too much sun as well. It made the perfect setting for the perfect day until a woman approached you and Zetsu.
“You look so unique! Can I sit here and chat with you for a bit?” The lady hadn't even brought a child with her to the park. You'd seen her watching Zetsu for a little while, but you didn't think she'd be stupid enough to approach him while you sat right next to him. For a moment, neither you or Zetsu said anything. Until Black Zetsu found his words.
“What is wrong with you lady? Can't you see that I'm here with my spouse and children?” Black Zetsu grumbled out loud enough for the people around us to hear. The lady's face just went red and she began to sputter.
“Oh, I didn't even see you there, you don't have a lot of presence, do you?”
“Hey! You can't say that! Go away, creepy lady!” It was Danny who'd approached from behind with Sammy right next to him. Both children then put their best scary faces on and literally growled at the ladylike an animal.
“What in the world are these vile creatures?!”
“They are my children. How dare you insult them!” It was White Zetsu now speaking in an unusually angry tone. Zetsu stood up and towered over the lady.
“I-I'm sorry! I just...”
“Leave!” Both halves of Zetsu yelled out, causing the woman to nearly trip over herself as she ran away. Both children began to laugh and other parents clapped when they saw the lady leave. Apparently, she'd been worrying the other parents since she was lingering around the children and looking at the fathers with hunger in her eyes. She'd finally chosen to go after Zetsu in the end though. “I don't want to come back to the park again.” White Zetsu muttered simply as he sat back down next to you. You couldn't help but chuckle at his words.
Sasori
You, Sasori and the children were out at a craft store. The kids recently picked up being crafty and now you all needed more supplies. Tara liked to do origami and paint while Dahlia liked to draw and make paper flowers. So, Sasori and you were helping them pick out new items to help further their crafty talents. Everything was going as expected with two children in a craft store that wanted everything they saw until things went bad.
“Hey, there cutie~” Some random young girl came up approaching Sasori. The four of you took a moment to just stare at the girl before the girl spoke up again. “It's so cute that you are hanging out with your sisters. Can I help you all find anything?”
“I'm his wife, and these are his children.” You instantly snapped at the young girl. The girl began to laugh like she didn't believe you and even began to say as much.
“I'm sorry, that joke was just too funny.”
“It wasn't a joke, so get lost. I don't have any patience for this.” Sasori growled out at the girl. She took a step away and looked at us all over again. Tara and Dahlia were hiding behind Sasori and you were standing in front of Sasori now. Your eyes narrowed at the girl and she smiled cutely at the four of you.
“You are a very beautiful family, I'm sorry to have bothered you.” Then, the young girl turned away and left the aisle you were all in.
“What an idiot,” Sasori grumbled as he turned back to the supplies on the wall.
“At least she didn't make a scene and left peacefully.” You muttered to him with a smile on your face.
“I wanted to see you punch her!” Tara yelled out directed at you. You were a bit shocked at your child's reaction but accepted it to be fair. The young girl was threatening their family by trying to hit on Sasori, so it's only natural for Tara to want the girl hurt. So, ignoring the comment from Tara, you four went back to searching for supplies.
Itachi
You, Serenity and Itachi were all out taking a walk one nice day. The weather was cloudy and warm, but it was nice. There was also a possibility of rain, but you three wanted to take a walk anyway. You didn't expect anything to go wrong other than the rain, but you were wrong. You noticed that there was a man following you three. Itachi seemed to notice it as well and decided to confront the man. So, you three stopped, Serenity hid behind you and Itachi stood in front of both of you.
“What is it that you want?” Itachi demanded as the man kept staggering closer. He was close enough to see that his eyes lit up when Itachi spoke in his clearly male voice. The man licked his lips and creepily looked at Itachi.
“You're such a pretty woman.” The man responded to Itachi. He only looked at Itachi, so it was very obvious that he was talking to your husband. You were taken aback, as no one has ever said something like that to Itachi before. At least, not right in front of you and your child.
“Excuse me? I am a man.” Itachi was clearly a bit shaken up with someone thinking he was a woman, however, as the man got closer, you three could smell the alcohol on him. Immediately, Serenity began to cry. It was like she could sense what was coming next.
“You're beautiful! I want you!” The man then lunged at Itachi, causing Itachi to use his Sharingan on him. It was an instant reaction, not one that was a conscious decision. Within a moment, the man instantly fell to the ground with a thump.
“Is he dead?” You questioned hesitantly. Itachi just shook his head. You were a little relieved since you and Serenity didn't need to see someone die right in front of them.
“He'll wake up eventually,” Itachi explained simply. You nodded your head and the three of you went back to your walk. Eventually, it began to rain and you three took shelter in a little food shop where you three had lunch and chatted about various things.
Deidara
Deidara, Nova and you were all checking out a shop that sold clay and clay utensils. There were molds and other things you'd use to make clay figurines. Nova and Deidara were in their element as they both were going insane over all of the things that were in this store. You just stayed back and checked a few things out, but you weren't really into it like they were. However, since you were staying back, you were able to see the most part of the store. You saw an attractive man, just watching Deidara. It made you uncomfortable, so you approached the man.
“Hello sir, I see that you are staring at my husband, care to explain why?” You questioned mostly politely to the man. He looked at you and had a look of shock written on his face.
“Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't realize that he was taken. I thought that you were just a friend and that girl was his little sister. I guess that'd be your daughter, huh?” The man seemed honestly apologetic, so you didn't get angry with him at all.
“Yeah, that's our little girl. They are super into clay and everything revolving it, however, I'm not into it as much. So I'm just letting them do their thing.”
“I see, I see. Well, I'm sorry for staring at him, I didn't mean to offend you or upset you at all.” The man turned out to be a really nice guy, surprising you to no end. You expected someone that attractive to be an asshole or something. If you weren't married with a child, you'd probably have gone after him. However, that would be a different life, and you are currently thrilled with the one you have now. So, you just smiled at him and replied to him.
“It's alright, no harm no foul.” You and the man shared a smile and you both then split up. You went over to Deidara and Nova and explained the situation to him. He was creeped out that someone was staring at him and he didn't notice, but otherwise, he was alright with the interaction. So, forgetting about the man, you three continued to shop, but this time you stayed with them and began to pick out a few things of your own.
Hidan
Hidan decided that it was finally time to go out as a family and find sacrifices. Since the children were immortal as well, you figured, why not. It would be a good learning experience and it would help them get their anger out in a more constructive way. So, you four walked around a nearby town at dusk and stalked a few people who turned out to be a group of drunk friends. Deciding that it would be a good choice, Hidan chose them to be the targets. There were four men in the group, so it was really perfect for the occasion. However, as the four of you stalked the group, a group of women approached you all.
“Hey, there sexy! What are you doing out so late?” One of the women called out once they were close enough to you all.
“I love the way you look with clothes on, let's see them off of you!” Another woman called out to Hidan as they got closer to you four. Sarah and Justin instantly hid behind you and hid their weapons. Hidan just turned to look at the women with disgust written on his face.
“What the fuck do you whores want?” Hidan snapped back after he got over his disgust of them. It seemed like something clicked inside his mind and he turned to speak to you. “Hey, let's sacrifice them instead.”
“Sacrifice?” The four women grew concerned and began to back away.
“Yes, that sounds like a good idea! No one flirts with my husband!” You called out with a smile on your face. The women began to run away, but Sarah and Justin used their little scythes and swiped at their legs. From there it was all over for the women. It was the kid's best sacrifices yet and they were thrilled to go through with it. You were also happy to sacrifice the women as well. You had a habit of doing so towards any woman who looked at Hidan the wrong way anyway, so it was perfect for you. Hidan was so proud of you three. You all had done the ritual perfectly and nothing had gone wrong at all. No one even caught you guys. So, not only did you four deal with people who'd flirted with Hidan, but you guys successfully sacrificed people as a family, which warmed your heart.
Kakuzu
You kept nagging at Kakuzu to take you and Kristina on a bounty hunt. You wanted to do something as a family, and you thought that it would be perfect. He was reluctant at first because he didn't want to risk either of you getting hurt or getting in the way, but eventually, after plenty of bothering, he decided to just go with your request. So, that's where you were now, you three were stalking a decent bounty. You were hiding in the trees waiting for the man to be alone so you could act without causing too much of a scene. Normally, Kakuzu wouldn't care about that, he'd just kill anyone in his way, however with you and a child, he wanted to play it a bit more safe. As soon as the man was alone you three moved into action and things didn't go the way you thought they'd go. Instead of fear of Kakuzu, the man showed arousal.
“Hey there, hot stuff. You come around these parts often?” The man didn't look like he was going to be gay or interested in Kakuzu, so this threw you all off. You instantly pushed Kristina behind you to hide the child from the situation.
“What is wrong with you?” Kakuzu growled at the man. He wasn't against the man being gay, it's just so obvious that you all were after him to kill him, so it was odd for the man to react like that.
“What's wrong with me? You aren't inside of me yet.” That made you and Kakuzu disgusted within an instant.
“Nope this isn't happening, Kuzu, let me take this one down.” You wanted to kick the man's ass now that he'd said such a vulgar thing about your husband. So, you pulled out your weapons and went after the man. He went down fairly easily and you wondered why he had such a decent bounty on his head, but that wasn't your problem. So, you left a little life in the man so he could suffer until the time of his death. You were happy about your takedown, and Kristina was as well. Kakuzu also seemed to be proud of you and your abilities as a ninja. He made the mental decision to take you with him more times on bounty hunts, along with Kristina. It made a nice family event for all of you.
Tobi
Tobi and you decided to take Dexter to a candy shop. He'd been getting good grades so you wanted to give him a treat, and what is a better treat than letting the child pick out any candy he wanted? So you three headed out to a huge candy store in another village close by. It wasn't one you'd visited in a while, so it was a treat for you and Tobi as well. You were very much looking forward to buying any candy that you'd want as well. However, it seemed that someone had their eyes on Tobi and wanted to devour him like candy. You noticed the woman first and realized just how she was looking at your masked husband.
“Hey, Tobi, that woman over there is watching us like a hawk. More specifically, she's watching you.” You mentioned to your husband as he went through candy and thought about each piece before putting it in his little bag.
“Huh? Why Tobi is being a good boy.” Tobi clearly didn't think anything of it, so he just continued on with his candy search. Until that search was interrupted by the woman approaching the two of you. You weren't sure where Dexter was at the moment, but you hoped he wouldn't be witnessing anything that was about to happen.
“I love a mysterious man. Can I ask, what's under the mask?” The woman was practically pushing her breasts out to try to get Tobi's attention, however, he just blankly looked at her and responded in his Obito voice.
“My face.” His voice was void of emotion and it actually made the woman laugh.
“Well, of course, silly man. I wanted to know specifically what you have under there.” Her eyes were not on his mask any longer, she was looking him up and down. You shuddered and then decided that you'd handle the situation.
“Listen, harlot, this is my husband and you need to back off.” You growled at the woman. She seemed to be freaked out and offended for some reason.
“Why would a man like that, be with a child like you?”
“Back off or I will slit your throat.” You responded simply by pulling out a kunai. That seemed to catch the woman off guard and she decided to flee from the store. Even Tobi seemed to be shocked by your actions. “What? No one flirts with my man.” You shrugged your shoulders and then went off to find your child. Eventually, the three of you got all the candy you wanted and then got the hell out of there before the woman could report you for threatening to kill her. It was worth it though, so you had no regrets.
Kisame
Kisame decided that for his mini-vacation, he wanted to take you and Alexander fishing. It wasn't the best idea in the world for two people who'd never gone fishing before, but at least the three of you would be together. You hoped that he'd take you to a spot where not many other people would go, and for the most part he did, except there was a group of men there with one woman. Of course, that woman just had to see Kisame and instantly fall in love with him or something because she immediately came over to you three and began trying to chat up Kisame, right in front of you and your child.
“Hey there, you look quite different than any man I've ever seen before. I was wondering if you wanted to fish together.” The woman stated to Kisame, who just looked at her like she was an idiot. He looked to you and then back to the woman.
“I am obviously here with someone else, so the answer would be no.” Kisame finally responded after a moment of thinking whether this woman was serious or not.
“Yeah, you're with some brat and a kid, so what? I can guarantee that I'm better than they are.” Kisame's eyes narrowed and the girl took a step back, sensing his anger.
“That is my spouse and my son. No matter how 'better' you seem to think you are, no one is better than them to me. So kindly walk away before I use you as fish food.” Kisame's tone was as threatening as his words were and the woman seemed to have enough sense to just walk away. She returned to her group of men and began to chat with them instead.
“I can't believe she had the audacity to approach you in front of me.” You muttered, not actually believing that someone could have the balls to do something like that. Kisame just shook his head and went back to fishing. It was a difficult day of fishing, but eventually, you all caught at least one fish. It was fun, but you'd make sure to go to a different place next time, without anyone there, just in case.
Madara
Madara, you, and the children all went out to a restaurant for dinner. It was the perfect evening. The food was great, the kids all behaved themselves and Madara didn't pick a fight with anyone. However, things began to go downhill when you noticed ninja from another village eyeing your husband. They were two women who weren't looking at him with anger or confusion, they were looking at him with want in their eyes. It greatly upset you and it made you even more angry that Madara didn't even notice their looks. So, you took it upon yourself to take care of the situation.
“Excuse me, but can you stare at someone else's husband?” You asked the women from across the room. Their eyes instantly went to you and just glared at you for a moment.
“Husband? We thought you were his sister.” One of the women responded in a snarky tone.
“Well, you were wrong. So stare elsewhere.” You gave just as much snark as the woman did, but it seemed to only piss them off further.
“Or what?” The other woman questioned as she stood up.
“Or else we'll kill you!” Eclipse snapped, not wanting to deal with the situation a moment longer. She spun around in her seat and pulled out a kunai to show it to the women. They weren't scared and decided to lunge at your oldest daughter. Madara then had enough of the situation as well and stepped in front, easily defeating the two women. They then lied on the ground, bleeding and bruised.
“Come on, let's go home,” Madara stated after he brushed off any dirt that'd gotten onto him.
“Yay! Dad took care of the whores!” Arcadia cheered happily. You weren't sure where she learned the word whore, but you decided to let it go for the night. The five of you then paid and left the restaurant. It was still a nice night, so all of you decided to take the long route home. It was now peaceful and you were happy to have that situation done and over with. You just hoped that no one else would try to flirt with Madara.

Three Englands and an American
Ficlet Valentine for @cwjhunt
Roses are red Bamboo is for pandas I think you’re a star So here’s some Hamanda!
Fandom: Little Witch Academia Pairing: Hannah England x Amanda O’Neill
approx. 1650 words, rated T
In which Hannah receives some unexpected assistance taking care of her two younger cousins.
One kid? Hannah could handle that just fine. Two kids? Pushing the limits, but still manageable. But three kids?
"Kill me now."
Hannah had been press-ganged by her family into taking care of her younger cousins for an afternoon during their visit to Blytonbury. The girls were pleasant enough to spend time with, but they needed all of her attention. The last person Hannah wanted to see right now was Amanda O'Neill, who happened to be walking toward them.
The girls noticed that their cousin recognized Amanda.
"Who's that, Hannah?" The younger of the two girls, Gabriella tugged at Hannah's sleeve. Like all the Englands, she had auburn hair, tied back in two pigtails, and dressed in clothes as similar to the Luna Nova uniform as she could get—Gabriella couldn't wait to go to the same school as her cousin. The eight year-old was Hannah's favourite of the two, sweet, well-mannered, and shaping up to be a proper witch.
"Is that your girlfriend?" The older of the two girls, Danielle, had learned the previous summer that Hannah was bisexual and brought it up at every available opportunity. The twelve year-old had developed an attitude and was old enough to resent having a babysitter, on whom she took out her frustrations through relentless teasing. Danielle couldn't have been more different from her sister; she had recently shorn her long hair into a rough pixie cut in a gesture of rebellion against her parents, and her current outfit was a pair of artfully ripped jeans and a black t-shirt with a crude slogan plastered across it.
"Absolutely not," Hannah protested. "She's nothing but trouble." Particularly what she did to Hannah. And her feelings. Hannah would never have expected that she would actually look forward to Amanda's attention. Unfortunately, the American's interest in her seemed to be strictly intended to frustrate her.
Amanda spotted the three of them, smirked and made a beeline for them. "Kids already?" she said. "I heard teen pregnancy was on the rise but this is ridiculous."
Hannah rolled her eyes. "They're not mine, jackass. They're my cousins."
"I'm Gabriella England. How do you do?" She held out her hand and Amanda shook it solemnly.
"I'm Amanda O'Neill," the American replied. "Coolest witch at Luna Nova."
Hannah elbowed her other cousin. "Introduce yourself, Danielle."
"Ugh," Danielle scoffed. "My name is so frickin' girly. I hate it."
"Danni, then," Amanda said. She held out her first for the twelve year-old to bump. Danni smiled and obliged.
"What are you doing here, Amanda?" Hannah asked. She hoped that she was in Blytonbury for something important so she'd go on her way and leave her alone.
"I was just killing time looking for something to do," Amanda said. "And look what I found." She laughed. "Three Englands? Is this the War of the Roses or something?"
"That reference almost makes sense, so I'll give it a pass," Hannah said. "Now get the hell out of here."
Gabriella tugged at Hannah's sleeve again. "Hannah, you said a bad word."
"Yeah," Danni said. "And earlier you called Amanda a jackass." Gabriella reprimanded her sister for repeating the word.
"Urk!" Hannah had forgotten to watch her mouth around the two younger girls. Amanda really did bring out the worst in her.
"Wow, Hannah," Amanda said, smirking even more obnoxiously. "Looks like you don't have what it takes to take care of kids."
Hannah put her hands on her hips. "And you do?"
"I'm actually great with kids."
"Yeah, because you are one!"
"As fun is it is to watch your lover's spat," Danni said, "I thought we were going to the park."
"Yeah!" Gabriella said. "You said we were going to see the ducks and go to a café!"
"We are not having a lover's spat!" Hannah blushed.
"Like I'd be having a lover's spat with her!" Amanda said, forcing a laugh.
"Amanda should come with us too!" Gabriella grabbed Amanda's arm.
"Yeah," Danni chimed in. "Amanda seems like way more fun than you." She grabbed Amanda's other arm.
"I've been captured," Amanda said dramatically. "I guess I have no choice."
"No way," Hannah said. "I'm not watching three kids."
"Please?" Gabriella and Danni gave Hannah their best wobbly lip
Hannah considered her options. She didn't need Amanda complicating her task of taking care of her cousins, but on the other hand, Gabriella and Danni rarely agreed on anything, and if she could mollify both at once, that was a win. And if Amanda was as good with kids as she said she was...
"Fine," Hannah sighed. "But you better behave yourself." She pointed at Amanda accusingly.
"Yes, mom."
The group of three became four and made their way to the park. Hannah led the way, holding Gabriella's hand; Danni trailing at Amanda's heels like a puppy. Once at the park, Gabriella went straight to the pond to feed the ducks, and Amanda magicked up a ball for her and Danni to kick around. Hannah noticed that Amanda had intuited Danni's boundless energy and chosen an activity that would tire her out. In theory. Danni ended up climbing a tree to show off to Amanda. While Hannah chased her back down to the ground, Amanda gave Gabriella a piggyback ride. Once the energy was wrung out of the two girls, they lazed around on the grass in front of the lake—Hannah chastised Amanda for her unladylike sitting position.
"I wish Amanda were my cousin," Danni said wistfully. "She's so much cooler than Hannah."
Hannah frowned, but before she could respond, Amanda chimed in. "You have no idea. Hannah's such a bossy-pants."
"I know how bossy she is way better than you," Danni said competitively. "She's always lecturing me on manners 'cause she's the queen of being ladylike."
Amanda scoffed. "Hannah? Ladylike? She challenged me to a duel for pulling a prank on her." She neglected to mention it was the eighth prank that week.
"Whoa!" Danni looked at Hannah with stars in her eyes. "You challenged someone to a duel!?"
"That's nothing," Amanda said. She smirked at Hannah. "Didn't you spit at Chloe after she trash-talked Diana?"
"That was supposed to be a secret!"
"Hannah, spitting is bad," Gabriella said earnestly.
"Well," Hannah scrambled for an appropriate answer. "If someone is being rude, they aren't deserving of a lady's finer manners and should be treated accordingly."
Gabriella considered this, while Danni stared at Hannah incredulously, apparently reassessing her opinion of her cousin.
Their time in the park came to an end and Hannah ushered the others in the direction of the café. As the girls walked (Amanda joking with the girls along the way), Hannah tried to puzzle out Amanda's behaviour. Not only was she actually being helpful, her revelations that Hannah wasn't as stiff as she seemed gave her a huge boost in Danni's books. Was Amanda trying to make things easier on her? Naturally Hannah appreciated the effort, but the thought of Amanda going out of her way for her put butterflies in her stomach.
They got to the café and Amanda took the others' orders. When it came for Hannah's turn, Amanda put a finger on her lips before she could speak.
"I know exactly what you want," Amanda said before walking off mysteriously.
"Ooh!" Gabriella and Danni voiced in unison. Hannah shushed them and herded them off to a table.
Amanda returned with their orders; she handed Hannah a scone and a coffee with a single cream—just how she liked it.
"How'd I do?" Amanda asked cockily.
"H-h-how do you know what I like?" Hannah spluttered.
"I asked Barbara and she said that was your fave." Amanda waved her phone.
"You have Barbara's number?"
Amanda smirked. "Jealous?"
"As if!"
"Damn, I try to impress you and this is what I get?" A crack appeared in Amanda’s suave facade at that slip of the tongue.
Hannah raised an eyebrow. "Since when do you care about impressing anybody?"
"That's the thing," Amanda replied nervously. "You're not anybody; you're nobody!"
"Hey!" Hannah felt her face grow hot with indignation. And then she processed that, posturing aside, Amanda had admitted to trying to impress her, and her face grew even hotter out of embarrassment.
"Awww, you two are so such a cute couple," Danni said, taking a self-satisfied bite of her donut.
"We are not a couple!" Hannah yelped.
"Amanda, Hannah won't tell us if she has a boyfriend," Gabriella said. "Does she have a boyfriend?"
"Does she have a girlfriend?" Danni asked.
"Not yet," Amanda said, winking at Hannah, who made a strangled noise in response.
Is Amanda flirting with me!? The thought was more than she could bear. Is that what she's been doing all along!? Or is just trying to annoy me? Did she come along with us because she wanted to spend time with me? Impress me?
"Just have your snacks, children," Hannah said in a high-pitched voice. The girls grinned and did as they were told. Even Amanda.
For a while, anyway.
"Admit it," she said, nudging Hannah with her elbow, "you're glad I'm here to help you out."
Hannah couldn't disagree. Amanda had made the afternoon easier on Hannah. She was good with kids after all, and they actually made quite the team. Taking care of kids. Together.
And following that line of thought made Hannah choke on her coffee.
"I had lots of fun with Amanda," Danni said.
"Me too!" Gabriella added.
The hopeful tones in their voices pushed Hannah to make a decision. She ignored her own apprehensions and the jittering of her heartbeats and pushed forward. "I'm in charge of Gabriella and Danni tomorrow too," she said. "I... I would appreciate it if you helped me baby-sit them again."
"It's a date." Amanda smiled so sincerely that Hannah was left speechless.
"I guess I'll be getting Amanda as a cousin after all," Danni said slyly.
"Danni England!"

Danny knew he had fucked up as soon as the words ‘I wish’ came out of his mouth. And from Desiree’s wicked grin he was going to regret wishing for anything, let alone happiness. Before he knew it, Danny was being whisked off somewhere. Hopefully nowhere dangerous or anything like that. So the first thing he did was take stock of his surroundings as soon as the green mist dissipated. It looked like he had been dropped in the middle of an occupied meeting room. There were several adults all dressed colorfully. That didn’t matter though.
Because at that moment, he saw it. A large window off to his right showing what was outside. Space. Space was outside and it was beautiful. He darted over to the window. Pressing up against the glass but careful not to accidentally phase through it. Excited energy buzzed just under his skin as he stared at the inky vacuum of space. A pleased rumble sounded from his core and gently rattled his ribs. And for the first time in a long time, Danny was purely, happy. There wasn’t any way to explain it other than that.
There were voices calling out behind him but Danny didn’t care. He was in space and the cosmos were calling his name. Planets and stars singing a song only he could hear. Nebulae dancing gracefully to the hauntingly beautiful melody with pulsars and glowing stellar nurseries lighting the stage.
Danny was broken out of his trance when a hand came down on his shoulder. Instantly, Danny turned and hissed. His features pulling and sharpening. It startled the man in a red and yellow suit so that he took a couple steps back. Danny relaxes again and turns his attention back to the void of space outside the window. His core was thrumming happily and he was vaguely aware that he was purring. Wide eyes greedily taking in all that was before him.
He stayed there for so long that he didn’t hear the people in the room leave. Danny just sat and watched the stars. He watched as red giants burned quickly through their stellar fuel before exploding into super novas. He watched as other smaller, dying stars expand into space, sloughing off their outer layers turning into beautiful planetary nebulae. He watched as planets collided with other planets and became new ones. He watched meteor showers millions of light years away. He watched comets draw closer to their stars, leaving bright tails behind them. He watched as stars were slowly pulled apart by black holes, doomed to a fate they couldn’t escape.
And so he watched until his core settled and he felt sated. Shortly after, he noticed another presence in the room with him. So Danny turned and looked over. There was a man in a dark suit with a cowl pulled over his face sitting at the large conference table. He looked to be doing some kind of work. Going between filling out paper forms and typing on the laptop in front of him. Danny’s addled brain finally made the connection, that was Batman. He was in space, Batman was doing work in the same room. Danny vaguely remembered another man dressed in red and yellow. That must have been Flash. Holy shit did that mean he was on the Watchtower? Did Desiree seriously just drop him off in the middle of a top secret Justice League base just for kicks and giggles?
But before Danny could get too far into that thought spiral, Batman looked up. Right at him. Ahhh, this was terrifying. He could tell the older man was assessing him. Determining if he was a threat or not. Hopefully he would be seen as not a thread and he wouldn’t be thrown in jail for accidentally trespassing.
“Are you done looking out the window?” The Dark Knight asked.
Danny nods, not trusting his voice to not crack or squeak or do something embarrassing.
“Alright. Mind telling me how you got here exactly?”
Oh boy. That’s going to be an interesting conversation. Danny was most certainly not looking forward to that.

Kate Leth: The Frederator Interview
One of our top-most frequently asked Qs is: “Do I need to study art or animation to become a creator”? Our long-winded answer could really be replaced with: “Look up Kate Leth”. For many of you, this intro itself will be redundant. Since she began posting her personal Kate or Die! comics in 2011, the growth of Kate’s now-ginormous online following - as well as heaps of talent and hard work - opened doors for her to become one of the most exciting comic book creators and animation writers working today. It was awesome talking with Kate about her adoration for Plum, the rising tide of female and non-binary voices in animation, and witches - lots ‘n lots of witches.
Kate: So now, where are these being posted?
Cooper: On our Tumblr! We have a long-running Studios blog. Do you know the Frederator // Tumblr origin story?
K: Maybe??
C: David Karp launched Tumblr from his desk at Frederator when he was an intern! Fred Seibert was one of its first bloggers and investors.
K: Oh that’s funny! I still use Tumblr sometimes, as like a less stressful platform than Twitter. Which it used to be much more so?
Yeah, Twitter’s really taken over, huh? Do you like Twitter or does it feel like a chore?
Half and half! I like the fun side of Twitter but it is also pretty depressing. I’m starting to use Instagram more, cause it’s just happier. It’s like a nice break, scrolling through pictures of my cute friends!
Has social media been very important to your career?
Oh yeah - all of the work I’ve ever gotten has pretty much been through social media. I come from a super small town in Canada, which makes it harder to network and connect with people. It used to be you’d meet people at Cons, but now you meet everybody online. So many of the connections I’ve made and so many of the jobs I’ve gotten have been through Twitter and Tumblr. I don’t know where my career would be without those platforms!
That’s amazing. Did you know those opportunities were out there when you started posting?
I got into Tumblr just to follow people. I worked at a comic book store at the time, and my boss knew that I was drawing and encouraged me to put my stuff online. So I did, and slowly started to amass a small following. It got bigger, and that was how I got discovered by BOOM!, which is how I did my first published comics—including the Bravest Warriors comics, which is kinda funny!
Whoa, cool! From comic book store employee to comic book writer - how was that transition?
I started working there in like... 2009 or 2010? It was part time; I was also working at a dress shop. But I got fired from the dress shop (laughs) so I became full time at the comic book store. My boss, Calum Johnston, was a really engaged member of the arts community. He pushed people to make comics and share them, and that’s how I got started.
He must be so stoked to see where your career is now.
It’s really wild to look back on. When I wanted to self-publish my first zine, I had no money. I was a super broke art student. Cal sold his original art of the cover of the first volume of Scott Pilgrim and used the money to help me and a bunch of other people self-publish our comics. He’s a really good dude.
That’s so generous! Do you stay in touch with people there?
Yeah, I try to! His daughter is in animation school now. I’ve known her since she was like 14. It’s cool cause now I can promote her work and help her get a foot in the industry, so it comes full circle!
When you got the job at the store, were you just a fan? Or did you know you wanted to be a creator?
Just a fan! I was really big into autobio and self-published comics. Kate Beaton, Lucy Knisley, Erica Moen, and Jess Fink were all creators I was following at the time. Kate Beaton is from Nova Scotia like me, and I watched her get successful on LiveJournal and things as a comic artist—and yet she had studied history! She had no formal arts training; she’d just started making comics for fun. I had always thought that if you didn’t go to art school, that wasn’t an avenue for you. Seeing what she was doing made me realize, “Oh, people can do that!? Maybe I could too!” I’d been reading web comics since junior high, but it was never something that I thought I could do, until I started doing it. Being on Tumblr was also really encouraging; seeing so many other people just starting out and at a similar skill level with their art.
How did the path from self-publishing to BOOM! go?
It was sort of accidental. An editor came across Kate or Die!, and I was offered a backup strip in one of the Adventure Time comics. Only like 2 pages - super short. And then they came back with an offer to write a whole graphic novel? I’d never written anything longer than 4 pages in my life. But I was like, “Sure, I can do that!”. So I wrote Seeing Red, my first Adventure Time comic. And it did well, so they asked me to write another one. And all of a sudden that was my job! I was like, “Oh, okay, I better get good at this.”
Wow, so you taught yourself how to write comics? And to screenwrite?
Oh yeah, I didn’t go to school for any of this. I went to school for makeup and photography. I was a professional makeup artist for a couple years. Then I studied photography for two years. Then I dropped out. A college dropout made good! At first, I didn’t feel like I knew what I was doing. I’ve been writing comics for 6 or 7 years, and I only now feel like I’m good at them (laughing) I know people will disagree! I’m very self-deprecating. But I definitely feel like I understand what you need to craft a story now. When I started, I didn’t think about stories as a whole: knowing where you’re going, how you’ll get there, the themes you’ll touch along the way. I did a lot of improv in high school, so I felt fine sitting down and just starting! I'd make stuff up as I went. But that doesn’t make for as good of stories. So over time I’ve learned to sit down and really figure out the world, the arcs, the timing for big moments. I fill books with outlines!
Do you have a favorite project you’ve worked on?
Spell on Wheels, which just came out from Dark Horse last year, is something I’m really proud of. It’s about witches on a road trip. Megan Levens and Marissa Louise, the artist and colorist I’m working with are so awesome; I’m really happy that we’re gonna do more of it. And it’s nice to have an original series out there, because I’ve worked on so many other people’s properties.
What are the biggest differences there?
It’s very freeing to write an original. You’re not beholden to any corporate standards or licensers, so it’s easier to tell the kind of stories that you want to tell. Especially in terms of things like diversity and queerness, there’s nobody saying, “Oh, we can’t do that because it’s not in the TV show”. It’s nice to not have to worry about things like that. Dark Horse has been very supportive of it, which is cool.
Is Spell on Wheels your main project right now, or what else is goin’ on?
I work in animation primarily now, so I’m working for Hasbro and some other places that I can’t talk about yet, as is always the way. But I’ve been with Hasbro for about a year and a half, as a sort of jack of all trades writer. I’ve worked on My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, Littlest Pet Shop, and a bunch of other things that haven’t been announced yet. As for comics, I’m currently working on the Mysticons graphic novels - the first one comes out in August.
What do you like best about being a writer?
I love it. I think it’s amazing to create worlds and characters and stories and see them brought to life by so many different kinds of people, with so many different artistic styles and talents and specialties. It’s just like magic. Animation is so exciting. You write a script and then you wait... like a year... and then it’s animated! And there are voices saying your jokes! I feel like the thrill of that might wear off at some point, but it definitely hasn’t yet.
What are your favorite cartoons?
Sailor Moon is top of the list. And Cardcaptor Sakura - any magical girl anime I would just eat up as a kid. I watched Disney’s One Saturday Morning religiously, Doug and all of those shows. And now Steven Universe is a big favorite. I got to write an episode for Craig of the Creek, which is great, and I’m really excited about that. And I’m a huge fan of Bob’s Burgers!
What is your episode of Craig of the Creek about?
Witches. I’m very into witches! I grew up on Buffy, Charmed - every YA book I could get my hands on. Practical Magic is my favorite movie. I feel like there were so many movies and TV shows about witches in the 90s. I’m ready for that genre to loop back, in a BIG way. And for the episode of Craig of the Creek, I created characters that ended up becoming part of the recurring cast! So it was neat to contribute to that world a little bit.
What is your favorite thing about Bravest Warriors?
Plum. Just Plum, in general. She’s my favorite character to write - she’s just so fun. She’s silly and weird, and once you get her voice right, she’s such a laugh. She's so blunt and harsh, but in this innocent, unintentional way.
Your episode “Chained to Your Side” has the Scaley Williams Dance - what inspired your play on Sadie Hawkins?
We don’t actually have Sadie Hawkins dances in Canada, which is funny. But I’ve always been kind of fascinated by the concept: “Oooh it’s so rebellious cause the girls ask the boys.” Which is so outdated! So I thought, what’s the futuristic version of that… and got: ‘the girls ‘dart’ the boys’. And we had this conversation, like, “Okay, they dart the boys - but it has to be consensual! They have to say yes!” That was very important (laughing) I could only take that joke to a certain point. But I knew the dance idea would let me do a lot with Beth and Plum. And I love beating up Danny. Like that’s my favorite thing to do in the comics. Just let terrible things happen to Danny. He’s such a goofball.
What are the themes that recur in your characters and stories the most?
Surface level, the obvious: witches and gay stuff. In a deeper sense, things I come back to a lot… there are a lot of characters I’ve written that work retail or minimum wage jobs. Because that’s what I grew up with—I moved out when I was 17 and started working, and did that up until 4 or 5 years ago. So that’s a huge part of my experience. Definitely characters who aren’t borne of privilege and are struggling to prove themselves. Like Hellcat especially, is very much about someone in their 20s just trying to get by. And I talk about self-acceptance a lot. I like genuine moments between people. Amid the comedy, I like there to be something real - especially if it’s something difficult to talk about. Hellcat is this really upbeat superhero, Saturday Morning Cartoon vibe—but I did an entire arc about how people misinterpret and mistreat men who are bisexual, and how that’s different from how bisexual women are treated. So it’s this funny comic, but still touching on real topics. I like to try to say something. But not, you know, hit people over the head with it.
Do you have a cartoon project that’s your favorite?
Yeah, but I’m not allowed to talk about it yet! I have had a lot of fun working on Equestria Girls. It’s so exciting to write stuff for kids. Since I started in animation I’ve actually tried to shoehorn myself: I want to write action-adventure for girls. That’s what I want to do. I’ve managed to get to a place where that’s everything I’m working on now, and that’s really exciting. A lot of people don’t want to be pegged like that, but I’m like, “Oh, you want me to write girls punching and having feelings? Good, I’m here for it!”
It’s funny to pigeon-hole yourself! Most writers seem to want the opposite.
I doubt I’ll want to do the same thing forever! But I definitely don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting to tell stories for girls. For a long time I think there was an onus to make sure your show could appeal to boys, and that led to a lot of female characters getting side-lined, because executives would say, “Boys need someone to relate to!” And I agree with that—but I really don’t believe there’s any reason boys can’t relate to or look up to girls. And I think perpetuating the idea that they can’t is pretty harmful.
In your time in the industry, have you noticed animation becoming more inclusive and diverse?
I’m lucky in what I’ve worked on. Hasbro has a huge female staff and a lot of the executives are women, so they’re very supportive of that. There’s always room for more diversity, but it’s been good. I know there are parts of the industry that are still very much a boys club, but I’ve stayed pretty far away from those, and would prefer to keep it that way. There are so many women coming into animation now. I know so many women and non-binary folks working in the field that are just going to keep rising. It’s definitely a rising tide.
That’s awesome.
Well, I have to believe that, or else I get depressed! (laughing). My boyfriend and I play a game where at the end of movies, we count how many title cards we get through before seeing a woman’s name. (I groan) Yeah, it’s wild. Usually it ends up being a producer, or the casting director, or a costume designer. It’s rarely someone on the creative end. And when you start looking for it, you really start noticing it. But it’s heartening when you see a movie that defies that. Like at the end of Black Panther, there were a ton of women’s names early on in those credits! That’s my goal, is to like (laughing), be the early in the credits female name. And then fill the rest of those credits with people I know.
Oh cool, so you would want to make a feature film?
Yeah. I have lofty goals. We’ll see what happens, but I don’t want to close myself off to any opportunities.
Do you know what that movie would be about?
Probably witches. But I guess we’ll see! ❀

UConn’s Danny Hurley drew the softest ejection of the college basketball season
College refs must be stopped.
Danny Hurley has a solid resume in his fourth season as head coach of the UConn Huskies men’s basketball team. Hurley made the NCAA tournament for the first time last season, developed an NBA lottery pick in James Bouknight, and has his team back to playing at a top-25 level again this season. There’s one thing Hurley hasn’t done since taking over the program: beat Villanova.
The Wildcats have been the premier power in the Big East for much of the last decade, and are again a top-10 team this season. This felt like a true measuring stick game for the Huskies. UConn played its heart out to earn a season-affirming victory, but Hurley wasn’t around to see it. Instead, he was tossed from the game in the first half on one of the weakest ejections you will ever see.
With under five minutes left in the first half, Hurley started yelling at the refs when he believed guard Tyrese Martin got hacked on a layup attempt. The refs didn’t make the call, and Hurley barked at the officials as play went down the other end. Hurley was eventually given a technical foul by the refs. He proceeded to turn around and pump up the home crowd, which earned him another technical. Seriously.
Watch the ejection below:
After receiving his first tech, Danny Hurley got ejected for this......... fix college basketball pic.twitter.com/irgQZIFcdy

Here’s the full sequence:
Here is the Danny Hurley sequence in its entirety pic.twitter.com/nN9wCgIukT
— Let's Talk Big East Hoops (@Hoops2College) February 23, 2022
This is simply one of the softest ejections you will ever see in college basketball.
The ref must have believed Hurley was showing him up by igniting the crowd, but he needs to grow up. This is a high stakes game with less than two weeks before the conference tournament, and no one came to see him. To toss Hurley is that moment is completely inexcusable.
The official who tossed Hurley was heavily criticized on Twitter during and after the game:
Just saw the Dan Hurley ejection. What an embarrassment by those officials. Are you kidding me? Imagine feeling that threatened/shown up that you have to call a technical because Hurley tried to pump up the crowd. Unreal.
— Sam Vecenie (@Sam_Vecenie) February 23, 2022
Absolutley horrendous by this crew to toss Hurley out of the game. HORRENDOUS.
— Matt Norlander (@MattNorlander) February 23, 2022
That is one of the worst calls I have ever seen in my life. A miscarriage of justice in Hartford. Unfathomable.
— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) February 23, 2022
Without their head coach, UConn still came through with an absolutely incredible victory.
The Huskies trailed 69-65 with 31 seconds remaining as Villanova went to the free throw line. Nova missed, and UConn got a three from 6’9 senior forward Tyler Polley. R.J. Cole then stole the ball from Collin Gillespie and made a layup. Cole then took a charge from Gillespie to seal the win.

Hurley wasn’t able to coach his team in the biggest game of their regular season, but the credit the Huskies for one incredible response.

Star Crossed -
Prologue:
"Sam! I swear to shit, if-"
"If I what? Screw up the mission? Relax Gabs, it's not like the Chitauri will show up."
Oh how Sam wished he could take that back.
Because the Chitauri did show up.
Gabriella dawned her Nova helmet and her armor covered her body within seconds, making her appear to the public as the flying hero - Orion.
"Orion! To your left!" Iron Fist shouted and she blasted a small fighter ship of Chitauri, her heart racing as her green eyes searched rapidly around for her brother.
"Orion!"
"Nova," She breathed out, thankful when her brother flew up beside her.
"Supernova, both of us," Her eyes widened at her brothers' request.
"But, the tea-"
"They know what to do! Now!" He shouted and she nodded, her body warming up a hundred degrees by the second and she shut her eyes, letting out a scream as it all became too overwhelming for her.
Sh-shit.
And she started to fall.
"Got'cha!"
"Danny. . .?" She mumbled out.
"That hurt like a bitch," She groaned and he chuckled before setting her down.
"Stay down, you and Nova took down most of them, but there's still more. We'll take care of it," She reluctantly agreed and watched as her friends took down the remaining Chitauri, but then immediately felt her heart drop into the pit of her stomach when she saw a familiar set of stripes.
"Titus!"
Sam spun around and his sisters' shout was right. Titus planned this. He planned for her and Sam to use most of their power on the Chitauri, who were a mere distraction, and then he would deliver the final blow.
"Run!" Sam yelled at her as she picked herself up.
"What?! No, I'm not leaving you with Titus!" She flew towards Sam.
"And I'm not going to explain to mom how Titus got the jump on us and killed you."
"I'm. Not. Leaving!"
"You should listen to your brother, Orion. After all, wouldn't that just break her heart?" Titus taunted.
"Shut up, you overgrown cat!" She spat at him.
"Go. Don't go to mom, but anywhere but here! Please!" He pleaded, and Gabriella gave him a quick hug before letting her flight take off and breaking the sound barrier as she went.
Using the Supernova should bring down any Nova, but not her. Like her brother, her helmet turned black and gave her total access to all the Nova Corps powers, but unlike Sam, she didn't know how to fully engage everything.
But what she did know is that Titus sent Chitauri after her, and stopping in the middle of an ocean, her palms lit up with rage.
"Bring it on, asshats!"
_________
Tye yawned, tiredness overwhelming his body as he stretched. Maurice wouldn't be home for a few more hours, and the fact that his mom even invited him to live with them made him enraged.
But he could only say so many things without hurting her feelings.
As he started getting ready for bed, tying his hair up for the night, the house shook and pieces of dirt flew up from his backyard.
"What the hell?" He muttered, grabbing a bat from his room and slowly making his way to the back door. His hand shook as it made its way to the handle, but just took in a quick breathe and flung it open.
"Oh shit," He rushed to the girl who had practically dug her own grave in his backyard, and noticed a helmet on her head, covering up most of her features.
"Hey, are you okay? Hello?" He poked her arm.
"Shit."
He pulled out his phone while keeping his eyes on her unconscious form.
"Jaime."
"Ay, it's two a.m.. Tye, what's up?"
"This chick just crash landed in my backyard, dude. I-I don't know what to do! What if she's dead?!"
"What?! In your backyard?!"
"Yeah, dude! I-I can't the police, right? I mean, they'd just experiment on her and shit."
"Why did you call me?"
"I panicked!"
"W-well, there's this superhero hotline I heard about. I could call them."
"Really? Where'd you hear about tha-?"
"I'm calling right now! Gotta go! Bye!"

This Woman Reimagined Michelangelo's "The Creation Of Adam"
With Black Women * And It's Beautiful
Michelangelo who?
Posted on May 16, 2017 Michael Blackmon - BuzzFeed News Reporter
This is Harmonia Rosales, a 33-year-old artist living in Chicago.
"I was raised in a creative environment," she said. Rosales also noted that "artistic expression was floating in the air" in her household growing up. Her mother is an artist and her father, a musically inclined guy, played the congas.
Rosales credited her parents for sparking her interest in the arts. "Kids imitate their parents and my parents were great models for me. I repeated visuals of my mother hunched over her art table churning out illustration after illustration starting with a blank canvas and a vision of a full one. I often would crawl under my mother's art table and track her movements, her brushstrokes, her ideas, her illustrations. She would let me experiment with all her expensive oils and brushes, never once telling me what to paint or how, but letting me find my own style."
One of Rosales' pieces, which she calls "The Creation of God" recently went viral.
The piece is based on Michelangelo 's "The Creation of Adam," famously displayed in the Sistine Chapel. "I wanted to take a significant painting, a widely recognized painting that subconsciously or consciously conditions us to see white male figures as powerful and authoritative and flip the script, establish a counter narrative," she told BuzzFeed News, elaborating on why she decided to make reimagine the well-known work of art with black women.
Says Rosales, "White figures are a staple in classic art featured in major museums. They are the 'masters' of the masterpieces. Why should that continue?
Replacing the white male figures — the most represented— with people I believe have been the least represented can begin to recondition our minds to accept new concepts of human value. ... If I can touch even a small group of people and empower them through the power of art, then I've succeeded in helping to change the way we see the world. ... And when you consider that all human life came out of Africa, the Garden of Eden and all, then it only makes sense to paint God as a black woman, sparking life in her own image." "In the essence of Picasso, my whole life," Rosales said when asked how long it took her to create her latest piece. "Every skill, life experience, and emotion has led me straight to this particular piece and every piece thereafter."
And the way in which her ideas form, and the way she's acted on them, is a very organic process.
"I have an idea, it might not be fully thought out, but first the idea. Then I let it marinate. Often I'll place a blank canvas by my bed so that I may wake up and sleep to it. And, while I sleep, it speaks to me," Rosales said. She also said that she doesn't sketch her creations, everything happens at once on the canvas by which they are brought to life. "My subjects morph and their expressions change as they speak to me and reveal themselves to me. Sometimes I will go over an area multiple times until they virtually come to life." Rosales' work definitely has a recurring theme: women of color. "I paint women darker than me because I want no one to mistake who I'm representing. I paint what I know, who I identify with," she told BuzzFeed News.
We have been underrepresented and misrepresented for so long that I feel I should paint to empower us. We need powerful images for our youth to see." Her daughter is another reason why Rosales is passionate about the work she does. "I want my daughter to grow up proud of her curls and coils, her brown skin, and for her to identify as a woman of color, a woman of value."
What I do with my art contributes to the way she and all other little girls like her will come to recognize themselves."
Rosales' "The Creation of God" will be part of an exhibited series in the near future.
She also plans to work with fellow artist Aldis Hodge on a series about persecution that will debut at the end of the year. "This particular series will relate to the masses," she said.
Critics Disgusted With Artist’s Painting of God As a Black Woman
By: Seth D. Mills - May. 31, 2017
The painting (above photo) The Creation of God by artist Harmonia Rosales of Chicago has caused a lot of controversy throughout the last 3 weeks. Since it was first shared on Instagram, the painting has had at least 7,000 likes.
But some people on Twitter have called it a “disgrace”, while others stated that it was “cultural appropriation” and “disgusting”. In The Creation of God, Harmonia showed God as a black woman touching the hand of another black woman, much like The Creation of Adam by Michelangelo.
Harmonia said the painting was meant to show that “we have created God in our own image. So ‘God’ is whoever we want God to be, a representation of the ideal, of the divine, of wisdom and love and pure creativity.”
But not everyone agrees.
What do you think? Did she go too far?

Hannah Marie there are so many people in these comments that think they know what they are talking about but really don't. culturally appropriating something is taking something from another culture saying "it's mine i created it" profiting from and creating an entirely new meaning, while the (almost always) disadvantaged are left in the same position having their object devalued for the same things that are valued in said appropriated object. you can't culturally appropriate an image like this, it's literally impossible. if that was so then there are hundreds/thousands of images that have been by musicians, directors, artists, everyday people god damn photo-shopping themselves into images. why can't y'all just see the beauty and let it be ---------------------* James "Cultural appropriation is the adoption or use of the elements of one culture by members of another culture.[1] Cultural appropriation is sometimes portrayed as harmful, framed as cultural misappropriation, and claimed to be a violation of the collective intellectual property rights of the originating culture.[2][3][4][5] Often unavoidable when multiple cultures come together, cultural appropriation can include using other cultures' traditions, fashion, symbols, language, and cultural songs without permission" Its the definition of cultural appropriation. News Flash: You cant just make up your own definitions of things. ---------------------* Hannah Marie James Nino didn't make up a definition, i never said i defined what it was, i was giving informed examples. what did i say exactly that was wrong? ---------------------* Bon N Why can't you see the gross double standards at play ---------------------* Hannah Marie Bon Nord but why do you think it's cultural appropriation? just because it's got black people in it? (genuine question) ---------------------* Aaron L Hannah Marie-Nova St Jean maybe because she literally said white people shouldn't dominate classic art and then literally stole someone's theme for a piece? ---------------------* Hannah Marie Aaron Lonnergan and you think they should dominate???? seems bizarre to me as there are millions of people in the world and one race should dominate? and if you see the work of Warhol and other pop art artists you'll see there is a heavy tradition of using other peoples images and making them ones own while still referencing the original work (like she clearly has done) but the difference is that she isn't making millions from the work. and this image has been so widely used in so many different re-imaginations, where people make fun of and transpose whatever image they want on to it doesn't make sense for this image to be so contested as cultural appropriation when people have literally put Ronald McDonald in the position of god and an overweight person, there's a Simpsons version too i just think it doesn't make sense. people interpret and re-imagine images all the time, the issue comes when someone claims the work as their own, purely original idea. that's when issues begin to arise ---------------------* Nicholas S That last sentence right there - buzz Feed makes it nearly impossible. Last year one of their big topics was how a white girl with dreadlocks was stealing from another culture. And it's just idiotic. ---------------------* Pepe C Everything is cultural appropriation now so everybody might as well stop crying about it. Just like everybody is racist now these words have no meaning anymore. ---------------------* Igor R Yet another cultural appropriation, sure. Or is it a parody as a form of flattery? Celebration of the absent fathers, spending time in prison, while the girls are being raised by their mothers in the 'hoods? Brown skin and coils is nothing to be proud of, unless you think just an abundance of melanin is something to be proud of. But melanin is not the magic powder, not the midichlorians to make you into a Jedi. So far what I am seeing is one second-rate painter apeing the great and original artist of the past, with unintentionally funny results. ---------------------* Mathew B Isn't this just cultural appropriation? ---------------------* Daniel Z Apparently not, you know, Europe doesn't have culture apparently ---------------------* Danni T She gave credit to Michelangelo so no it is not. 😌 ---------------------* James N Danni Turner So if a bunch of white people in black face doing racist skits give credit to Bojangles then its not cultural appropriation or racist right? I mean they gave credit... ---------------------* Danni T It's racist for black face due to the derogatory comparison of said black person, but it isn't appropriating because it was made by Caucasians. So if anything, if a minority donned black face or made their face darker it would be appropriating idiocy from said Caucasian race lol. However, I would like to see you adorn black face in an all black neighborhood. It would be an exquisite scene to watch. ---------------------* Maximus Autizmus Fucking hilarious. A white girl can't braid her hair but blacks can "re-imagine" one of the most iconic European masterpieces? Double standard much ---------------------*

[DA Request]Iron Fist X Reader - The Dragon and The Dragon Slayer
Words: 8722
Warnings: None?
Notes: This fic was request by a DeviantArt user back in February. I’ve been writing it on and off, and I finally finished it a couple of weeks ago, and I decided to share it here.
The request wasn’t an X Reader per see, but a OC fic, however I was given the option to make it into a reader-insert, and I did.
The powers and mutant appearance of the reader are that of the OC, however when in human form, I made it as neutral as possible. Also, I was given 2 plot lines to choose from, but being the Iron Fist fangirl that I am, I mixed in the two.

The silver scales along her forearms reflected the orange of the flames that came out of her mouth, stunning Doc Oct just enough to fly through the flames and scratch him with her dragon claws. When her silver, dragon wings sent her higher, she saw the claw marks along the scientist’s cheek, before the Beetle was thrown against him and the two villains fell.
As a recently added member of Spiderman’s team, it had become almost a habit for (1st Name), a.k.a Spitfire, a dragon-hybrid mutant hero, to fight with Doctor Octopus and whatever “backup” he brought under the name Sinister Six, or Sinister Five, as of now.
A flash of gold caught her eye as she was circling the are to charge again. Iron Fist, a.k.a Danny Rand, a.k.a her boyfriend, was engaged in a 1vs1 against Kraven the Hunter.
Before she could fly down to help, she was attacked from above by Vulture, much to her dismay. If there were two people on that battle she was avoiding to face was Vulture and Rhino. She knew they weren’t really evil, so she didn’t like the idea of hurting them.
But she wouldn’t go down without a fight. She used her dragon tail to grab her attacker’s leg and throw him bellow her. A small sting on her tail told her a silver scale had just come off with the movement.
From then on, Spitfire spent most of the battle flying around in a sort of aerial dance with the Vulture, while occasionally helping a team member in need. One of those times, Spitfire dove and caught Kraven by the shoulders with her strong dragon paws, before grabbing him with her tail and throwing him at the ground with full force. Iron Fist jumped and knocked out the hunter with a punch.
A thankful wink was sent her way by the zen boy, causing Spitfire to blush and swoon internally before Vulture’s shadow loomed over her.
“C’mon, Vulture! I don’t wanna hurt you! I know you’re not really evil!” She yelled to the sky above. Vulture’s response was a nosedive with the intent to tackle her to the ground, but she dodged at the last second. Nova happened to fly by and blasted Vulture into the ground, knocking him out as well, and drawing a frown from Spitfire.
Before she could feel bad, a lost projectile from Beetle flew right in front of her face, missing by an inch. Startled, Spitfire hurled towards the ground, but landed safely on her legs.
Looking around, she noticed Doc Oct was trying to grab Spiderman with his “tentacles”, and although Peter seemed to be doing fine, Spitfire’s acute eyes noticed the signs of tiredness starting to show on him.
Sensing the need for help, Spitfire approached the scientist from behind and used a roundhouse kick to sweep one of his “feet”, destabilizing him for a second, enough for Spiderman to increase the distance and catch his breath for a bit. Spitfire kept circling Doc Oct, using her agility to distract him and draw his fire to buy her friend some time to rest.
But something went wrong and she lost her footing, which gave Doc Oct a chance to grab her and throw her towards the closest lamp post. She must have blacked out for a minute or so, because when she came to her silver-white hair was out of its ponytail, Kraven was up again and Vulture was flying once more.
Beetle came flying from somewhere and crashed right beside her. Out of instinct, she spewed a burst of flames at his face. White Tiger also showed up and kicked his face into dreamland.
“Spitfire! Are you okay?!” White Tiger asked the dragon mutant while helping her up.
“Yeah, ready for another one…”
“I finally caught you, Spiderman!” The words didn’t reach anyone else besides Spitfire and her heightened senses. As soon as she looked over, she saw Spiderman trapped under one of Doc Oct’s claws, while said scientist grinned at him in victory.
Before White Tiger could look at whatever had caught the dragon hero’s attention, Spitfire was already sprinting to her friend’s rescue. She tackled the tentacle that was holding Spiderman and swiped the hero, grabbing him with her tail and some help of her dragon paws, and flew away.
“That was too close!” Spiderman exclaimed, watching himself getting farther away from the villain. Doc Oct cursed the mutant.
“You’re lucky I heard him gloating that he caught you.” Spitfire smiled at him.
“Yeah, he really should learn how to shut his mouth sometimes…”
Soon enough, Doc Oct ordered a retreat and the villains left. Only Beetle was left behind and taken by SHIELD. Doc Oct spared a look at the dragon-hybrid as he was leaving.
“This might just get more interesting than I thought…” He muttered to himself before disappearing.
The heroes followed the agents to the Tricarrier on one of the jets, all tired and ready to end the day. Inside the jet, Spitfire removed the black mask that covered her eyes and returned to her human form. The scales on her forearms and from her knee down disappeared along with their wings. Her paws and claws gave place to her hands and feet, and her silver white hair and yellow eyes returned to their original colors. She was finally (1st Name) again. The others followed the example and removed their masks.
Danny, who was sitting beside her, snaked his arm around her waist, but she hissed in pain when he touched a certain area.
“Hold on, you have something stuck on your back...” Danny said. He plucked out whatever it was and showed it to the team.
“It’s a dart.” Ava pointed out. “Is that a vial attached to it?”
“How did that get there? I don’t remember being hit...” (Y/n) said, eyeing the dart.
“That… might be partially my fault?” Suddenly everyone had their eyes on Peter and he continued: “Doc Oct was going to shoot me with something when you saved me. Maybe you got hit in the middle of it.”
“Maybe, I don’t really remember that…” The girl shrugged “I just saw you were trapped, I didn’t really notice what Doc was doing”
“So, what, you’re going to turn into some weird animal thing?” Sam asked.
“First, I already do, in a way…” (Y/n) pointed out “…second, I don’t feel… different, so I don’t think so...”
“Are you certain? Are you really fine?” The worry in Danny’s voice was obvious. (Y/n) looked him in the eyes and nodded with a reassuring smile.
“Other that tired, yes, I’m fine…”
“Maybe it was one of Doc’s plans to get Spidey’s DNA, or something…” Luke suggested.
“Either way, it’s better for you to check with Doctor Connors once we get back.” Peter told (Y/n), who nodded in agreement.
Once the heroes told Fury what happened, (Y/n) was sent to Doctor Connors to be checked on, while the rest of the team had a meeting with Fury. The first exams didn’t show anything out of the ordinary, according to Connors, but only after analyzing her blood samples would they know if there was something wrong or not, but the results would take a couple of days.
In the meantime, life would go as usual.
---___---___---___---
That meant classes on the next day. (Y/n) felt good the following morning, as if nothing had happened the previous day. The only evidence left on her body from the battle were the tiny bump the dart left on her skin and the pain on the back of her head from hitting the lamp post.
Morning went by as usual: long, uneventful, and painfully slow.
The calm was only broken after lunch. (Y/n) was passing by her locker to grab the books to the next class when Flash Thompson showed up.
Whenever she was alone, Flash took the opportunity to flirt with her. This started as soon as she set foot inside Midtown High, and not even after she started dating with Danny did it stop (Danny did offer to talk to him, but something left her wondering if he wanted to actually talk or... "talk". She didn’t believe he would go so far as do anything of that sort, but she refused anyway).
"Hey there, babe! Are you free after classes?" Flash asked as he leaned at the lockers in a "cool" way.
"If you're trying to ask me on a date, then yes, I'm busy. I have a boyfriend to be with." She spoke as she rummaged through her locker, and making sure to put emphasis on the word “boyfriend”.
"C'mon, stop playing hard to get!" He insisted, leaning more towards her.
“I’m not.” She replied with annoyance, praying for a way out of the situation. “I do have a boyfriend.”
“Whatever, he can’t be better than me!”
Oh, he didn’t…!
He just didn’t…!
His sentence made something grow inside her, and for the first time ever, she wanted to clean that smirk of his face... With her fists…
"Listen" she said as she closed the locker rather brutally, her calm demeanor hiding her growing anger. "I do NOT want to go on a date with you. Plus, I'm taken! I! Have! A boyfriend!! And he’s a million times better than you could ever be!"
"Then maybe we could just-"
Her hands turned to fists and her face scrunched into a glare uncharacteristic of her. She was about to swing at his face when Peter and Luke showed up.
"Flash, back off." Luke warned, putting his hand on the jock's shoulder. Their appearance surprised (Y/n), and her anger dissipated.
Peter put himself between you and Flash.
“Leave her alone! She clearly doesn’t want anything to do with you!” (1st Name) internally sighed in relief at her friend’s appearance.
“Or what?” Flash challenged, glaring at Peter. Luke reminded him of his presence by tightening his grip on Flash’s shoulder and threatening:
“Or we’ll get her boyfriend, Danny.”
The three heroes saw Flash’s resolution shatter before their eyes as Danny’s name left Luke’s lips, much to their amusement.
Flash shrugged Luke off and walked away with a scoff and a “whatever”.
(1st Name) sighed loudly.
“Thanks guys… You saved me… Again…”
“That’s what friends are for.” Luke stated with a smile.
“Yeah… Let’s go to class, (1st Name)?”
“Sure, Pete… Let’s go.” She agreed with a smile.
---___---___---___---___---___---___--
Spitfire pouted as she flew above the skyscrapers, her silver scales glistering in the afternoon sun. Her boyfriend chuckled from bellow her, making her glare at him, but her pout cut off the terrifying factor.
“Why are you laughing?” She asked him. Iron Fist smiled at her before replying.
“You’re cute when you pout.”
She would have blushed if it was another time, but instead she just stared at him.
“You know I just need to twirl to shake you off, right?” She felt his hand grip her ankles a little tighter.
“You love me too much to do that.” He stated with a wink, which finally made her smile, a light blush coating her cheeks. “Don’t worry, (1st Name), well go out later.”
“But I really wanted to watch the movie!” She complained “But nooooo! Fury had to call us! I was so looking forward to the date!”
“We still have about forty minutes before the movie starts. Maybe it will be quick.” He told her. Although the dragon mutant appreciated the effort of cheering her up, she scoffed.
“It’s Doc Oct, again… It never quick…”
An explosion dragged their attention to the streets bellow.
“Tell you what, if we’re not too tired after this, we’ll go to the night session, what do you say?” He asked as she dove towards the explosion.
“You do remember we have school tomorrow, right?” She reminded him with a laugh, but still looking forward to that promise.
“You’re more important.” He told her, before releasing her ankles once he was close enough to the ground.
She blushed like crazy, but flew up once more, analyzing the area.
Enemies: Sinister Six… Again. Doc Oct, Rhino, Vulture, Kraven, Electro and…
Oh, no…
“Hell no!” Spitfire said as she saw the 6th member.
Scorpion.
Already, she felt angry. She hated him, and with good reason. She had only met him once, on a previous battle and she had hated him then. But when she learnt what he did to Danny back in Kun’Lun…
A shadow loomed over her, and she didn’t even need to look up to know who it was. Vulture dove towards her, and the two resumed their aerial dance from two days prior. But this time, she didn’t feel like being merciful.
It didn’t even take her ten minutes to KO the Vulture, before she moved to the next enemy with a whispered “sorry”.
She teamed up with Nova to bring down Electro, and after that she remained on the ground to defeat Kraven along with White Tiger. The two girls shared an high-five, while they tried to catch their breath.
“Three down, and three to go…” Spitfire muttered as she noticed there was still thirty minutes left to the movie “Maybe we can do this in time…”
“Do what?” White Tiger asked her.
“Me and Danny were planning to go watch a movie.” Spitfire whispered to her friend, making sure no one else hear her. “Until Fury called, that is…”
“Then why are we talking instead of fighting? We wouldn’t want you to miss your date, would you?” She asked, emphasizing the word “date” with a wink. Spitfire shook her head with a shy laugh, before they jumped back into battle.
Spitfire found herself going for Iron Fist, who was still in a tight battle against Scorpion. She noticed a couple of cuts along her boyfriend’s arms, probably from Scorpion’s blade. Oh, how she wished to bash Scorpion’s skull in and turn his brain to goo. With her strong dragon arms, she could do that easily…
Realizing the way her thoughts were going, she scolded herself for thinking such things. Her duty was to stop villains, not kill them violently! … Not that Scorpion didn’t deserve it…
Once she was within range, she used her tail to swipe Scorpion off his feet, which gave Danny an opportunity to punch him right in the face and send him towards the closest wall.
“Thanks, princess.” He said in a love-filled voice, which made her blush and giggle at him.
“Maybe we can still our date, if we hurry!” She told him keeping her voice as down as possible, ready to jump into battle once more.
But the sound of steps and a glint from behind Iron Fist triggered her reflexes. By the time he sensed the danger, Spitfire was already holding his arm and pulling him behind her, protecting him from the incoming blade. Flicking her tail in front of her, the blade’s rope wrapped around it, but the dragon scales stopped the blade from cutting through.
Scorpion was back on his feet, and his expression showed more hatred than usual
“ ‘Date’? Don’t tell me the mighty Iron Fist is courting this… dragon… freak!” Scorpion scoffed with disdain. Spitfire felt her boyfriend’s body tense beneath the clawed hand that was still holding him. “You have fallen so low…”
"You're saying that, but remember that, no matter what, he will always be above you!" She retorted, his insulting remarks fueling a growing fire within her. "Even if you beat him to the ground, he'll still be above you!"
Scorpion retrieved his blade and put himself in a battle stance. Instinctively, Spitfire and Iron Fist did the same, side by side.
"We'll see about that..." Scorpion growled with a smirk.
"Scorpion! I'm giving you a chance to surrender and leave!" Iron Fist yelled from besides the Dragon mutant.
"Surrender?! To you?" Scorpion spit onto the floor before glaring at his rival "Never!"
Iron Fist's glare intensified and Spitfire growled, her tail swinging behind her angrily, which Scorpion noticed.
"How cute. The freak is growing angry..." The villain provoked " Tell me, brother, does she make a good pet? She sure is loyal... Still, your choice of partner is disgusting."
"Scorpion..." Iron Fist's tone was one of warning, but said man only continued with a snicker. Spitfire wondered why had no one started punching.
"If you really like that monster, then you are more unworthy of the throne of K'un Lun than what I thought!"
And just like that, she snapped. Spitfire stepped forward and, with an intense glare residing in her cat-like yellow eyes, she said:
"Do you want to see a real monster? Then please, keep talking. Give me a reason to rip you into pieces."
She could feel the surprised look from Iron Fist on her back, but she didn't care anymore. She was tired of this guy's shit.
"Please, go ahead, so you can prove me right and I can beat you before his eyes." The villain encouraged.
Before her boyfriend could react, Spitfire jumped at Scorpion, who dodged her claws but forgot about the tail, that swept him off his feet. Quickly grabbing his ankle, she swung him, bashing his face into the ground, hard.
“Why don’t you crawl back to the hole you came from, you insect?!” She yelled, as he broke free from her grasp and tried to slash his blade at her. She blocked the blows with her arms, the scales on her forearms not allowing the blade to cut through. During one of the blows, she twisted her arm as soon as the blade hit her, allowing her to grab her foe’s wrist with an iron-like grip.
“Not until I destroy you all!” Scorpion replied. In a burst of anger, she tightened her grip. The sickening sound of cracking bones was heard, before Scorpion covered it with a scream of his own.
She then stunned him with a roundhouse kick, before grabbing him by the back of his neck with her claws and flying high above the city skyline.
“We’ll see who destroys who!” She yelled with pure anger, before making a nosedive towards the concrete bellow.
Using Scorpion as a cushion, she landed on him, another pair of crack reaching her ears, probably from his ribs. Without any more energy to fight, he didn’t even defend himself when she started punching his face relentlessly.
“This is for trying to hurt my friends!... This is for insulting me!... This is for insulting him!... This is for blinding him!” She paused her speech for each punch she threw at his face “For every…”
“Single…”
“Thing…”
“…You’ve done!”
Once she finally finished speaking, her fist hung above her. She opened her hands, claws ready to strike, but before she could even strike her enemy once more, a hand gripped her wrist tightly.
“Spitfire, stop!”
She turned to the voice, a furious expression still on her face. Once she realized it was Iron Fist, she calmed down slightly, but only his expression snapped her out of her angry daze.
He had a cautious expression, and she could read a bit of disappointment, surprise and/or fear in it. Only then did she realize what was happening.
Looking down at Scorpion, she noticed the damage she had caused to the man, who had just fallen unconscious. His nose was bleeding and clearly broken, his face was swollen and there were a few cuts on his face. Tentatively touching his chest, she felt a few bumps and realized a couple of ribs were broken, which made her immediately jump off him, afraid to cause more damage. Once she was on her feet she noticed that one of his hands was at an odd angle, reminding her she had broken his wrist with her bare hand.
Her body shook. Never had she once made such damage to anyone, she always kept violence to a minimum, so what had triggered everything? Why did she feel so angry?
The remaining villains had apparently retreated, and the other heroes were already joining the scene. She didn’t even have the courage to look at any of them, ashamed. Instead, she kept looking at her scaly, clawed hands. The tiny silver white scales on her knuckles had turned red.
“Woah! That’s one hell of a beating!” Nova commented, seeing Scorpion’s state, which made Spitfire fidget. She could feel the questioning looks of the team.
"I... I don't know..." She started weakly with a shaky voice. " I don't know what came over me... I don’t know why I did this."
Her boyfriend stepped forwards, and although she flinched, he didn’t stop until he was in front of her. Without a word, he hugged her reassuringly. She couldn’t help but cry on his shoulder.
For the first time ever, (1st Name) felt scared of herself.
---___---___---___---___---___---
The sky above New York had turned red by then. The last SHIELD agents that had arrived to clean up the mess were leaving, and the rest of the team had already disappeared from sight.
(1st Time) sat at the top of a nearby building along with Danny. She was still in her mutant half-dragon form, but she had removed the black mask that covered her soft yellow cat-like eyes, instead of her normal (E/c) ones. Danny had also removed his mask, and the two were watching the sun as it kissed the Manhattan skyline.
“That was unnecessary…” He eventually said, breaking the silence that sat between the two. His green eyes didn’t leave the setting sun. (1st Name) also didn’t look at him when she replied:
“I know. I don’t know why I did that. I was so angry that I lost control, I guess…”
“I have to admit, it was flattering, to some extent…” She looked at Danny, and saw he was smiling. “… Defending me like you did back there.” She blushed and looked away.
“Well… You can’t say that he didn’t deserve at least some of it…”
“True…”
They stayed silent again, but this time it was a more comforting one. The two watched the sun disappear in the horizon, with content smiles on their faces. But after a while, (1st Name)’s smile gradually disappeared.
“Danny?” She called. The boy looked over at her. “If something like that happens again, you’ll be there to stop me, right?”
“What do you mean?” he asked, putting his full attention on her.
“If I ever lose control of myself, like today, you’ll stop me, right?”
“Of course.”
She turned fully to him and stared right into his eyes. For a second he thought that looking at her original (E/c) eyes was preferable than the yellow cat-like ones from her mutant form, especially when she was staring at him like that.
“And you will do whatever it takes, right?”
Danny fidget, searching for a hidden meaning behind her words.
“Sure…” The mutant noted that he didn’t sound that sure, but remained quiet. Her eyes, for some reason, slid down to his chest, and she giggled.
“What?” He questioned.
“Now that I think about it, you do have a history with dragons, don’t you?” She said, tracing the Iron Fist symbol on his chest. He blushed.
“I guess you could say that… But I don’t think you’d like to meet the same end as Shao Lao.”
“True. But hey! If you ever defeat me you could be called…!” Smiling, she got up from her spot and made an exaggerated “hero pose”, her wings spread out behind her.
“ ‘Iron Fist, the Dragon Slayer’!”
Danny didn’t know if he should sweatdrop or laugh, but seeing her more upbeat than earlier definitely made him smile. He got up as well.
“I prefer my title as it is, thank you very much.”
“Still, do you promise to stop me from doing something stupid?” She asked again, offering him her pinky. Understanding, what she wanted, he took it and replied:
“I promise.”
With a small smirk, she gave a step forwards. Next thing he knew, her dragon tail had wrapped around his upper back and was pulling him down towards her.
The deal was sealed with a kiss, with only the setting sun and the newly-born moon as their witnesses.

(1st Name) paused her pencil to yawn, cursing Fury and his training. She had stayed up late to go to the cinema with Danny, thinking that after school she could go home and sleep. But then, Fury had to tell them at the end of the morning that no, they had training after school.
So the mutant now sat on the stairs at the school entrance, doodling on her sketchbook while she waited for her friends. Danny and Ava had patrol that day before the training, so she only had to wait for Peter, Sam and Luke.
Distracted by sleep, she didn’t realize said boys were already behind her.
“Ready to go?” Peter asked, as he set a hand on her shoulder. Startled, she screeched and jumped up from the stair step. She lost her footing and slid to the bottom of the stairs, but luckily landed on one of her feet. Still, her sketchbook fell to the floor along some books, spreading papers all over.
“Woah! (1st Name), are you alright?” Peter asked, before he helped her catch the papers. The other two helped as well.
“Yeah. Sorry, I was a little distracted…” She said, suppressing a yawn.
“Did you draw these?” Peter asked, showing her one of her countless drawings. “It’s really good.” The girl blushed with the compliment and smiled.
“Thanks.” She suddenly remembered the drawings she had, and started catching the papers faster, praying none of the boys would find them.
“Especially, this one.” When the girl heard Peter’s teasing tone, she already knew the drawing he had found. Blushing furiously, she looked up at him. In his hand, he held a page with sketches of her boyfriend, mostly off him smiling. Thankfully, he found one of the tamest ones. She prayed harder so that they wouldn’t find any of the others. Unfortunately, no god wished to help her.
“What do we have here?” When she looked at the drawing Sam had just found, her face went from red to pale white. In his hand, he held a sketch drawing of a shirtless Iron Fist, a sketch she was really proud of for the most embarrassing reasons. She wouldn’t show them to anyone.
“G-Give it back!” Sam ignored her plea and caught a few more pages around his feet.
“Oh~! Steamy!” Whatever drawing he had found, had to be one of the juicy ones. (Y/n) tried her best to rip the drawings of his hands, but Sam kept them out of reach.
“Sam, please! It’s private!” Her tone was desperate. The sound of his laughs was starting to stir something within her, and as she plead more and more, anger started to mix in with desperation and embarrassment.
But Sam didn’t stop. More and more pages accumulated on his hands, and Peter and Luke speed up and caught most pages without a comment, seeing as the mutant was embarrassed enough.
The breaking point for the girl’s anger was her most prized possession. She got a glimpse of the drawing as soon as Sam got it off the ground.
“Oh my god!!” He yelled, looking at the picture. “Hey, guys! She drew Danny na-!”
A clawed fist coated in tiny silver scales hit his jaw, followed by a kick in the stomach that stole away his breath. Her hand turned normal as soon as it striked, but (Y/n)’s eyes still turned from (e/c) to yellow and her round pupil turned into a vertical slit. In a second, she ripped the pages off his hands, before handing a second kick that made him stumbled backwards.
“I said it’s private, you jerk!”
“(Y/n)! Stop!” Luke held her arms as soon as she stepped forward again. He turned her around and looked her in the eye before asking: “What is wrong with you?! You’re never like this!”
The words struck a thing in her. Her eyes widened, fury dissipating. Looking back at Sam, who was hunched over in pain, she gasped and broke away from Luke.
“Sam! I’m so sorry! I don’t know what came over me! Are you okay?...”
Apologies and worried questions tumbled from her lips. Luke and Peter exchanged a look of worry while Sam reassured her he was fine and that he shouldn’t have checked her drawings.
“This is not normal…” Peter whispered to Luke.
“I know. She’s so calm and shy. I never saw her angry before a couple of days back…”
“I was thinking, what if this has anything to do with the serum from Doc Oct that was meant for me?” Peter questioned, glancing at the girl still apologizing.
“I don’t know, Spidey… Why make someone angry?”
“How would I know?! Let’s just pray Connor’s has the answer…”
---___---___---___---___---___---
For the duration of the walk, (Y/n) didn’t say a word, or even look at any of the guys. She walked in front of them, head down, while Peter and Luke sent her worried looks. Although Sam had “accepted” her apologies, he was still rubbing his jaw, pouting, and just like her, he refused to look at her.
Worried thoughts danced in her head. She usually was reluctant to even hurt villains, but her own friends and teammates? No way! “What if” scenarios started forming.
What if one day she hurt one of her friends? What if she lost control and became an enemy? What if she hurt an innocent person, a passerby? Or worst…
What is she hurt Danny?
The thought made her shrink and she force herself to contain a whimper. “No, it wouldn’t happen…”, she thought to herself.
But then the picture of Scorpion, beaten into a pulp, and the memory of hitting Sam, made her wonder if it was true. She realized it was only a matter of time before something terrible happened.
Her eyes stung. Would she become a monster?
“If I ever lose control of myself, like today, you’ll stop me, right?”
She remembered his hesitation at her question, making her wonder what hurt more: The idea of her hurting him on accident, or him being forced to hurt her.
The three boys immediately noticed her posture grow straighter, determinate even. They noticed the moment that she swore to control that anger until she figured out what was wrong with herself.
---___---___---___---___---___---
Per Peter’s suggestion, Spitfire paid a visit to Doctor Connors about the dart before joining the rest of the team in the training room. At first, she tried to refuse (“If Connors has anything to say, he’ll tell me” and “I can go after the training”), but after a worried plead, she accepted.
The Doctor’s answer was “I’ll have your results in a couple of hours, comeback after training.”, which made her annoyed at Peter for not listening to her. But most of all, she was worried.
Only as she was flying down the halls of the Triskelion, did she wonder if her sudden outbursts and the dart were connected. She hoped that it was, so that she could at least know what was happening, and if so she prayed that Doctor Connors would be able to develop a cure.
“Sorry I’m late!” Spitfire burst into the training room, making the remaining heroes stop their training session.
“Any news?” Spiderman asked. The dragon mutant glared at him before replying.
“No, because the analysis results won’t be out until after the training.”
“Still, better safe than sorry.” Spitfire nodded in agreement, as Spiderman returned to the others. Iron Fist came to her right after, giving her a small hug.
“Is everything alright? You seem troubled.”
“I’m fine, don’t worry.” She tried to smile at him, but they both knew the smile was fake. She pushed past him before he could press her, signaling to start the training.
Although she could feel Danny’s eyes occasionally drifting to her, she did her best to forget her worries and focus on the training.
Over time, her demeanor brightened, the focus of training dragging her worries away. The same happened to the others, whatever plagued their heads moving to the back of their minds.
But the calm didn’t last long. A while after the tension had left them, Nova figured it was safe to mess with her, as if the punch earlier hadn’t happened.
“Tell me, (F/n)…” He started, flying next to her around the room “Those drawings were imagined or drawn from memory?” The mention to the drawings made her mood plummet once again.
“Fuck off, Nova…”
“No, seriously, I’m curious”
“Curiosity killed the cat.”
“Oooh, now you use sayings as well? Danny is rubbing off on you, you know?” He then lowered his voice into a teasing, explicit tone “I wonder if he’s just rubbing you his personality or… something else.”
Was it any other time, she would have replied with something to embarrass him, but the flames of anger were back with full strength. She didn’t reply, but she blushed deeply, whether from embarrassment or fury was unknown.
“Well, silence is also an answer.” Nova said with an amused laugh.
Inwardly, Spitfire panicked. She felt a need to just punch some sense into him, but another side of her didn’t want to do it. She felt her muscles tense and she tried to contain herself. She hated the anger and whatever it made her do in the heat of the moment. She didn’t want to hurt her friend again.
She felt eyes on her and knew it was Iron Fist. ‘For him, control yourself. This isn’t you. What would he think? Control yourself…’.
“You know, I wonder how many times you had to see him naked to draw him so good.” Sam teased, breaking her thoughts.
“Sam, shut up!” She screamed at him, anger taking over. She tried to control herself and realized she probably couldn’t.
“Hey, chill. You know I’m joking, right? It’s just some light teasing! Just laugh, chill!”
“Yes, you’re right, Nova, sorry, but please stop for now…”
/‘Yes, laugh. It’s just a joke, (F/n), now find a way to embarrass him too…’/ She took a deep breath and unleashed her anger on the training bots, but there was more still brewing inside.
“Woah! Who’d say sexual frustration helped you kick ass?”
“Samuel!” She screamed in frustration.
She lost control of her own body.
She tackled him into the closest wall and he countered with an energy blast that shoved her to the other side of the room. She remained on the floor, curled into herself.
“Hey! I said I was joking!” He yelled her, floating back to the floor. The others looked between them.
“(F/n), are you okay?!” Iron Fist asked worriedly, running to her. The others realized she hadn’t moved much and approached as well.
Iron Fist kneeled in front of her. She was trembling, dragon claws weakly scratching the floor.
She was panicking. Her body had acted out on its own, and she felt a sudden desire to lash out, hurt someone. It terrified her. She tried to remain as quiet as possible, trying to drive those thoughts away, but it failed.
When she felt a hand on her shoulder her body reacted, claws drawn back ready to strike, but she held herself back. She found herself face to face with Iron Fist, who had jumped back when she did and has a cautious look, that the mutant mistook as fear. Her heart squeezed painfully. What was she turning into? What was happening?
“It… hurts…” Her body felt like it was on fire, as if lava was running through her veins. Her sight was going in and out of focus at a fast speed, and the tears of desperation and frustration that burned her eyes didn’t help.
“It hurts” She crawled away from them. She felt strange and she had a bad feeling. She heard running footsteps and something about Doctor Connors
“My love, everything will be fine. Look at me” She looked at Danny, who had removed his mask. “Focus on my voice. Breath.” She did as such and he kneeled in front of her, slowly.
“Step back! I… I can’t control this, I don’t know what this is…” She begged.
“No. You’re in pain, I’m not leaving you.”
Danny slowly tried to reach for her, touch her, but before his fingers could graze her cheek, a loud dragon roar, mixed with a cry of pain escaped her mouth, followed by a sickening crack. Danny tried to reach for her, but Luke pulled him by the back of his suit right when she lugged herself at him.
The two boys watched, frozen in place, as the dragon mutant released roars, screams and cracks, twisting her body in abnormal ways. Her body grew, and scales took over whatever skin she had left. Danny’s brain couldn’t process the transformation happening in front of him, only the pain his beloved was going through, and that he couldn’t help her. He felt powerless.
When the two boys finally came to their senses the Tricarrier sirens were blaring, and there was a hole on the wall through which they could see a fully grown silver dragon fly over the skies of NYC.
---___---___---___---___---___---___---___---___---___---
“I really need to learn to keep my mouth shut don’t I?...”
“Congratulations, bucket head, you finally understood it.”
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, White Tiger, but it’s not Nova’s fault… Though he could learn to shut his mouth.” Spidey pointed out, as the team hurried towards Manhattan.
“I still can’t get over the fact Doc Oct made a serum to turn you into a spider.”
“He wouldn’t turn me into a spider, Power Man. It would just develop my spider DNA to take over my human part.”
“Same thing.” Sam interrupted “At least I prefer an awesome and pretty shiny dragon than a disgusting spider.”
“Hey! Spiders are not disgusting!”
“Perhaps you’d prefer to have taken the serum instead, Nova?” The team heard Iron ask on a rather dark tone. “I’d sure love to see you turn into a bucket…”
“I would have laughed, if the way you said it wasn’t so dark…” Spiderman pointed, switching worried looks with the rest of the team.
“Hey…” White Tiger called Iron Fist with a soft, reassuring voice “She’ll be fine. Connors’ anti-serum will work.”
He remained silent for a while. Then he muttered a small apology to Nova and didn’t even look at anyone else until a roar was heard ahead. The whole team stopped on the top of a roof and stared at the scene bellow. The silver dragon had landed on Central Park and was spiting occasional jets of golden fire from her mouth. Whatever flames that stuck to something were soon blow away by her wings, constantly flapping with enough strength to rip some trees off the earth. Her tail swiped furiously behind her, breaking whatever got in its way.
“Is it just me, or is she bigger?!”
“No, Power Man, she’s definitely bigger.” Iron Fist confirmed, never drifting his eyes away from the 30-feet tall creature.
“All we need to do is shoot her with the anti-serum… right?” Nova asked, hopeful that they wouldn’t have to fight a giant dragon.
“Spitfire’s scales are stronger than the most expensive SHIELD armor. There’s no way these darts will break through!” Spiderman pointed out. “We need to knock some sense into her, or knock her out.”
“Let’s try the first idea.” Iron Fist decided, before jumping of the building and running towards the dragon. The team followed him into the park. When they reached Spitfire, she wasn’t on a rampage anymore, instead she was banging her head against the ground and releasing some sort of whining sound amongst the roars.
“She seems to be in pain.” White Tiger said. “Maybe we can bring her to her senses.”
“We must help her…” Iron Fist’s chest tightened of the idea of her girlfriend hurting. He didn’t know if she was aware of her situation or not, but he hoped she wasn’t because, if she was, it wouldn’t just be physical pain she was going through, but also the pain of knowing she had, or attempted to, hurt someone.
“Hey, Spitfire!” Spiderman stepped towards the dragon. The dragon’s golden eyes fixed themselves on the red superhero. “We’re here to HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!”
The rest of the team watched as the dragon threw their friend into the distance with the swipe of her tail and an angry roar. The dragon took notice of the rest of the team and, with another roar, spit out a wave of fire that forced them to disperse. The dragon didn’t stop attacking them though, and the team was forced to defend themselves.
“We need a plan to stop her!” Iron Fist yelled at the team as he dodge-rolled away from another swat of her tail.
“We have a plan! Knock her out!” Nova replied from above.
“We can’t hurt her!”
“Unless you have another way to knock someone out, we can and we will” White Tiger Put out the ember that took over the tips of her hair as she replied.
“Iron Fist, I get that she’s your girlfriend,” Spiderman reappeared to join his team “but she threw me across Central Park! We need to stop her, and it’s what she would have wanted!”
Danny opened his mouth to protest, until he remembered his promise to her:
“If I ever lose control of myself, like today, you’ll stop me, right?”
“Of course.”
“And you will do whatever it takes, right?”
Do whatever it takes. The words ran through Danny’s head as he circled the dragon, dodging the attacks as best as he could. He knew Spiderman was right, she would have wanted him to stop her, she wants him to. So even if hurting his girlfriend made his heart squeeze, he prepared himself to do so. Once he steeled himself, Iron Fist approached Power Man.
“Can you throw me at her head? Maybe a punch to the head will work.”
“You think it will?”
“If I hit her hard, perhaps…”
With a nod, Power Man kneeled a few feet from his friend. Iron Fist ran towards him, jumped into his hands, and summoned his chi after Power Man sent him into the air. With a cry, Iron fist hit the dragon, but instead of hitting the side of her head, he hit her jaw, making her bite her tongue with her sharp fangs.
Such a thing infuriated the dragon, who tried to bite the green hero even before he landed but failed. With an angry roar, the dragon became more ferocious. Nova distracted her from Iron Fist while the other ran towards him.
“Unless her head stops in place, that’s not going to work.” White Tiger pointed out, having seen the whole ordeal.
“Then we stop her!” Spiderman stated, determined.” The idea is good. Maybe my webs will do the work, but I don’t know if I’m strong enough to hold her. Power Man, can you help me?”
“Sure.”
“White Tiger can help me make the jump, in case her head is too high.”
The four, after telling Nova the plan, started to set up. Power Man and Spiderman remained close, and once the opportunity arose, the later used his webs to wrap her nose, like a muzzle, and hold her still.
“Now!”
Iron Fist ran to White Tiger, who was already on her knee, ready to send him up, but before he could make the jump, the dragon broke the webs with the strength of her jaw and immediately tried to bite her attackers.
Power Man didn’t run. Instead, he held her open jaws before she could shallow him whole. He didn’t even need to tell Iron Fist what to do.
Channeling his chi into his fist, the green hero ran at the dragon’s head.
“I’m sorry!” He screamed before jumping and hitting the side of the dragon’s head.
With a pained roar, the dragon stumbled back, stunned by the strength of the punch. It wasn’t enough to knock her out, but it certainly was enough to stun her.
“Did we do it?” Nova asked from the air, ready to resume the fight if needed. For a while they thought it wasn’t enough, that she would attack again, but she didn’t.
She banged her head against the ground, like she was going when the heroes arrived. Seeing that the dragon didn’t seem as angry as before, he did a leap of faith.
Iron Fist took off his mask and approached her.
“Spitfire, hey!” The half-lidded golden eye of the dragon locked with his green orbs. “Sweetheart, relax. We won’t hurt you. We’re here to help you.” He spoke softly, calmly. He could see a spark of recognition in the dragon’s eyes. Slowly, he reached for her scales and she growled until his hand finally touched her. Using his chi, Danny tried to calm the dragon, which worked.
“Alright, time for the medicine!” Spiderman said, preparing the dart with the anti-serum he had attached to his Web Shooters. The dragon growled again, but Danny petted her nose.
“Calm down. Spidey will help you…”
Carefully, Spiderman searched for a part off her body where he could inject the anti-serum while Danny kept his girlfriend-turned-dragon calm.
“This might hurt!” Was the only warning anyone had before the arachnid hero shot his dart into a vein on the underside to the dragon’s wings.
The dragon roared painfully and released a short burst of fire into the air, forcing the two boys to retreat. The team watched as the dragon flailed around helplessly as the anti-serum took effect. The creature reduced in size, from a 30-feet tall dragon to a 7-feet-tall. By that point, scales gave place to skin, and eventually, after a few agonizing minutes of metamorphosis, only a girl remained.
“(Y/n)!” Danny called before running to her and kneeled beside her, holding her close. “…(Y/n)?”
The girl’s (e/c) eyes opened slightly.
“How do you feel, my love?” The boy holding her asked, a tiny smile on his lips.
“Tired…” She mumbled and curled into his lap, hiding her face in his stomach. Next thing he knew, she was asleep.
Relief washed over the team, as did fatigue. He held her tightly and kissed her forehead, as his teammates collapsed into the grass behind him.
“Who’d think fighting a dragon was so hard?” Spiderman complained. Ava sighed before replying:
“I would have preferred you turned instead. A spider is probably easier… Next time, let yourself be hit by Doc Oct’s serum.”
“Agree…”
---___---___---___---___---___---___---
When the female mutant came to her senses, she found herself in the Tricarrier’s infirmary. It would be deadly silent, if it wasn’t for the typing and a very calm breathing next to her bed, that she only captured thanks to her enhanced senses.
The skin on her arms and legs seemed to be undulating, like the calm waters of a river. Thought she was barely able to move, she was able to turn her head enough to look at her shoulders, where her silver scales moved before disappearing, reappearing again a few moments later. Her brows furrowed.
“The hell?...”
The typing stopped. She tried to look at where the sound had been coming from, but she was hit with a wave of nausea.
“Oh! You’re awake.” She recognized the voice from Doctor Connors.
“Yeah… What happened?...” Connors appeared besides her and started to mess with some machines next to her, probably to check her state.
“Short story, the serum you took from Doc Oct made your dragon mutation take over your DNA and you turned into a big furious dragon the team had to inject with an anti-serum.“ He said lightheartedly. “It seems like there’s still a bit in your system, but it will eventually disappear. You’ll just have to remain here for a day or two.”
Her head started spinning once she understood what he told her. Worried thoughts ran through her mind, wondering what troubles she might have caused. Doctor Connors must have seen her pale face and realized what she was thinking.
“No one was hurt.” He reassured her “A few bruises here and there and a wrecked Central Park, but other than that, not much trouble was caused.”
She sighed, relieved.
“Thank you, Doc.”
“No problem. Anything else? I have a report to write.”
The young mutant asked to sit up so Connors raised her upper half of the bed before returning to his desk in the corner of the infirmary, only to leave altogether after inputting some data.
In her weak state, she looked around the infirmary, until her eyes landed on Danny, out of his hero suit and sleeping in an awkward position on a chair next to her bed. She dully noted the charred ends of a part of his hair, which she had laughed about if she didn’t know it was probably her fault. If anything, it made her feel bad.
“…Danny, I’m so sorry for hurting you and the others…” She murmured, barely able to look at him.
She remained still, twisting her fingers and listening to the Tricarrier engines in the background, while she tried to remember what happened, but other than a few flashes of color, her memory was clean.
She only realized how hard she was twisting the fabric of the bed sheets with her hand when another laid upon hers. She jumped before looking at her side.
“Are you alright?” Danny asked her, with a lazy smile and a sleepy voice. The mutant refused to look at him.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Doctor Connors said I’ll be out in a couple of days, when the serum vanishes.”
“He told us the same thing.” She heard Danny drag his chair closer to the bed and stretch before sitting down again. “I’m really glad you’re okay.” He tried to put his hand over hers, but she pulled away, still refusing to look at him. She could feel his questioning eyes in the back of her head.
“…(Y/n)?... What’s wrong?”
“Nothing…” Her voice was weak as she replied.
“It’s not nothing. (Y/n), what’s wrong?” His voice was more stern, yet worried, sending the silent message that he would not be happy if she tried to lie to him.
“I just… I should be the one asking you if you’re alright. I should be the one who’s worried with your safety. I attacked the team. I –“
“You were under the effect of a serum you couldn’t control.” He interrupted. Danny put his hand under her chin, making her look at him. “Whatever you did, it wasn’t your fault.”
“I could have, at least, tried to control myself better. Not let Sam get to me, or-“
Danny leaded over her bed and softly kissed her, interrupting her once more. The kiss was so quick it was more of a peck, it was still enough to pull a blush from the mutant.
“Don’t blame yourself for something you cannot control, Princess.” The nickname made the corners of her mouth twist upwards in a soft smile.
“I can’t get my mind off of it, but maybe you can help, Dragon Slayer?” Danny kissed her again, longer and just as sweet as the last.
“Please don’t call me that, it’s not a nice title.” He chuckled when he broke the kiss.
“Why not? If I’m the princess, that makes you my knight in shiny armor, and knights need titles. Also, I said you could be called that if you defeated me.” She smiled brightly at him, her humor improving over time.
“If defeating you gave me the title, then are you the princess or the dragon?” He sat on the bed, next to her, and pulled her to him.
“…I don’t know…” She gave him a smirk “But I could be your queen~.”
He laughed, the sound making butterflies flutter in her chest. He kissed her hair and pulled her to his side, cuddling with her.
“You already are.”

66. When the Kids Get Into A Fight
Pein
You were summoned to the school around lunchtime. You had no idea why, so you quickly made your way there. Once you were there, you were led to the room where Elliot was. He was in there with two other students. They were introduced as Daniel and your son's crush, Scarlet.
Once you got closer to Elliot and Daniel, you could see that both of them had busted lips and bruised knuckles. It was obvious that something had happened between the two of them. While Scarlet just was watching Elliot with fear in her eyes, like she didn't want him to get into any type of trouble.
“Now, your son attacked Daniel because he was being nice to Scarlet. It was completely uncalled for.” The teacher explained to you once you sat down next to Elliot. You looked at your son and questioned him.
“Is that true, Elliot?” You were going to be very disappointed if that was the case.
“No! Daniel was flirting with Scarlet when he knows that she and I are in love! I was just defending my precious girlfriend!” Elliot cried out as tears began to fill his eyes. He was desperate for you to understand the situation.
“I see, well still, you shouldn't attack people like that. It isn't fair to anyone, just calmly explain the situation to Daniel, and then maybe he would have backed off.”
“No I wouldn't have, I want Scarlet too!” Daniel yapped immediately with a bratty attitude. You instantly looked to him and glared at him. He jumped in his seat as you smiled at him.
“I'm sure you're sorry for trying to mess up their relationship, right, Daniel?” There was a hint of threat in your voice as the kid began to nod his head hastily.
“Either way, we do not want to see Elliot here at school for three days. He is suspended, along with Daniel, for fighting at school.” The teacher spoke up after you were done talking, well threatening Daniel.
“Understandable, and do not worry, Elliot will not fight with Daniel any longer.” You stood up and pulled Elliot out of the room. You watched as he waved to Scarlet as you left the room. You weren't sure what to say to your child. You were proud that he stood up for himself and his relationship, but you weren't happy that he fought with someone. So, you decided to wait to lecture him until you were at home and gathered your thoughts better.
Zetsu
You bought some pudding for your family. They all seemed to like it a whole lot, as Danny and Sammy ate theirs up almost immediately. You left the room to tell the others about the pudding when you heard yelling from the kitchen. Once you got back in there, you saw a horrible scene. Danny and Sammy were on the floor, covered in pudding and punching and kicking at each other as they screamed at one another.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa! What are you two doing!?” You yelled out, louder than them to catch their attention. The two stopped fighting and looked up at you. They got to their feet and began telling their story immediately.
“He wanted the last pudding cup, but I wanted it more!” Danny cried out as he shoved his brother away from him, knocking him back onto the floor. Sammy bounced back up and attacked his brother, screaming at him as he did so.
“I wanted that pudding cup more than you!” Sammy began to smack at his brother and then when that wasn't working, he went to begin biting him. You could only watch for a moment before stepping in and breaking up the fight.
“Boys, that's enough!” You pulled the pudding covered boys apart and sat the down on the floor for a talk. “Now, you two can't be fighting over something as trivial as pudding. It is ridiculous. You two are brothers and your bond should be more important than anything else in this world, haven't I told you that before?!”
“But the pudding!” Danny mumbled out as he looked down at his body. He lifted his arm up and licked the pudding on it. Sammy had watched him and decided to do the same. You watched both boys begin to clean themselves up before you snapped at them again.
“Enough! You don't deserve to eat the pudding off of yourselves! Go take a bath! Now!” You were both angry and disappointed in your children for their actions today. You hoped that they would learn their lesson and not do that again. However, they were boys and they were your boys, meaning that they probably would get into trivial fights over and over again for the rest of their lives. You just hoped that you could handle them and control them to a point to make sure they never kill each other.
Sasori
You took your two children to the park on a good weather day. Tara and Dahlia were excited, but as soon as they got there, something changed. They were no longer happy and you followed their eyes to a boy about their age, maybe older.
“Who is that boy?” You asked your children, you just watched them shake their heads and run off to play. You watched as they played at the swings for a bit before that boy came over and shoved Dahlia off of the swing. You were already on your feet and were making your way to them, but could only watch as Tara jumped into action.
Tara just began to scream and dived at the boy and tackled him, knocking him to the ground. The boy began to punch at her and kick but Tara just fought back. Dahlia, also screaming, got into the mix as well and now both girls were being punched and kicked by the boy. As soon as you could, you pulled both your children up off the boy. The girls stopped screaming and just glared at the boy on the ground now.
“What in the world was that?!” You yelled as your children. The boy instantly ran off, not wanting to be caught by you as well.
“Joey is a jerk! He shoved Dahlia off the swing and was going to hurt her even more if I didn't stop him!” Tara yelled out as she was catching her breath. Dahlia began to cry now, finally realizing that she had scratched both her hands due to her fall off the swing.
“I saw, but you should tell an adult and not attack him. Now, let's get out of here before Joey brings a parent back with him. We have to have a long talk about your actions today.” You let your children down and took their hands and began to quickly walk out of the park. As soon as you were out of the park, the three of you hurried home. Once home, you let them wash up as you thought about the lecture that you were going to give them. You weren't sure if you should wait for Sasori to get home to do it, or if you should do it yourself. You couldn't help but be proud though, Tara and dahlia did defend themselves against the boy who was bigger than them.
Itachi
You and Serenity were out shopping for the day. Everything was going quite well until you saw Serenity stiffen up and begin to glare at someone. You followed her eyes and saw a young girl about her age. She had this air about her that showed she was probably a bully. You could just tell and so you didn't tell Serenity to go say hello. However, the girl saw Serenity and instantly came over to here.
“Hey Serenity, how are you? Is that your parent?” The girl questioned as she looked up at you. She gave you this disgusted look and then looked back to Serenity and gave a more disgusted look.
“Yes, Jessie.” Serenity said the bare minimum and her voice was filled with something similar to fear. Serenity took a step back away from her and looked up to you.
“What a loser! You're out shopping with your parent when you could be with friends? Oh wait, you have no friends!” Jessie began to laugh at Serenity when your daughter snapped and lunged at the girl. She knocked her to the ground and began to slam her head against the ground.
“You're the loser, you bitch!” You were shocked and horrified at your child's actions and instantly pulled her off of the other girl. You then ran away with Serenity in your arms before anyone else could get involved. You made your way out of the store and hurried away from it. As soon as you were far enough away, you sat Serenity down on a bench and sat with her.
“What was that all about? I get why you attacked her, but has this been going on for very long?” You demanded to know from your child. Serenity began to cry as she told you the story.
“She's been bullying me all the time at school. She calls me a freak and tells me that no one will ever love me. She's always so mean to me and gets her friends to be mean to me as well. There is no escape from her!”
“Don't worry Serenity, I'll have a talk with your teacher and ensure that she never says anything to you again, and if they don't take care of it, then your father and I will.”
“Thank you.” Serenity began to wipe away her tears as she hugged you tightly. You held her back and reassured her that everything would be okay soon. You would definitely make sure of it.
Deidara
Nova was always a kind child, so when you saw her come home with bruises and busted knuckles. She tried to avoid you so you wouldn't see, but you caught her and forced her to explain. So, you sat her down and began to speak to her.
“Nova, You explain to me right now what you have done! You are covered in bruises and you have clearly been in some type of fight.” You demanded her to tell. You weren't angry with her, but you were worried sick. She'd never been so injured before.
“I'm so sorry!” Nova began to cry immediately. “There's this boy, Antonio, he's a bully and only picks on girls. He's picked on me before, but it was nothing that I couldn't handle. However, when I left school today, I saw him picking on my crush, Lila. She was crying and he was going to physically hurt her. So I stepped in and attacked him. I shoved him to the ground and began to attack him, but he fought back. I did everything I could, but he didn't stop. After a few minutes of fighting, Lila helped me fight Antonio off and we ran away and now here I am.”
“I see. Well, I'm proud of you, Nova. You protected the girl you love and yourself from a bully. I just wish you would have told a teacher instead of getting yourself hurt.” You were sad that your daughter had gotten hurt, but you were very proud of her for her actions. “I will make sure that no one ever bullies you or Lila again.”
“What will you do? The teachers don't care.” Nova stated before continuing. “I already told them a few times, but no one will listen to me.” You frowned at hearing this but instantly thought of a plan.
“Well, I'll make sure they listen to me. I'll tell them all about it, and if they don't listen to me, then I'm sure they'll listen to your father blowing up the place.” That made Nova gasp out loud.
“You'd have dad do that for me?” Nova seemed genuinely shocked at that. You just nodded your head and smiled at your daughter.
“Your father and I would do anything for you. As long as you are safe, we're happy.” You were happy to see Nova smile at that. You knew she could tell that you were serious. You would have Deidara do anything and everything if it meant that Nova would be safe.
Hidan
You had taken the children out to catch some people to do a ritual. It was going well, and you found a few people who looked good enough to sacrifice. However, Sarah and Justin then got distracted by something. You looked around to see what they were looking at and realized that they were seeing classmates of theirs. You watched as they went off to talk to them. You followed slowly but kept yourself hidden.
“Hey there Lilac, how are you?” Sarah questioned when she walked up the girl. The girl named Lilac just glared at Justin, completely ignoring Sarah.
“Hey freak, how's everything with your whore mother and bastard father?” It was Lilac when she'd finally decided to speak. You jolted when you heard a child speak those words, and watched as both your children jolted as well.
“Don't talk about our parents like that!” Sarah yelled out. Lilac just ignored her and shoved Sarah away. You watched as your daughter fell to the ground. She instantly got back up and jumped onto Lilac. The two girls instantly began to roll around and scream at each other as they pulled the other's hair.
“Hey! Stop your sister from hurting my sister, you freak!” The brother to Lilac yelled out at Justin.
“You stop Lilac, Aspen!” Justin yelled out to the other boy. The boy called Aspen just shoved Justin towards the girls, but Justin shoved him back and the two boys then began to fight amongst each other. You knew that you needed to now get involved and stop them all from fighting. So, you came out of hiding, grabbed your children and ran back into hiding, leaving the other two confused.
“What was that all about?!” You demanded as soon as you had figured you were in a safe location and that no one was following you. You set your children down and glared at them.
“They started it with what they were saying about you and father!” Sarah cried out as she brushed off the dust she'd collected. You could understand what she meant, you were upset about what was said as well, but you knew that violence wasn't the answer.
“We should have sacrificed them!” Justin yelled out at you. You shook your head at them both. You wanted to tell them that you shouldn't fight with people, but the words didn't come out and you found yourself just heading back home. You'd find more people another day.
Kakuzu
You were visiting Kristina at school one day. She had forgotten her lunch money and you had to take it to her. As soon as you gave it to her, she ran off to go buy lunch. However, you watched as she was stopped by another student. You then watched as that student led Kristina away and out of the lunchroom. You quickly followed and saw a horrible scene in front of you. Kristina was standing above the other girl and was choking her.
“Kristina! What the hell is going on here!?” You demanded as you pulled your daughter off of the other girl. The girl instantly got up and dropped the money in her hands and then ran off. You and Kristina watched as the girl disappeared from sight. You then looked to your child and questioned her again. “What the hell was that?!” She just looked at you for a moment and glared. She clearly had to catch her breath before she spoke, but after a moment she was ready to speak, well yell at you.
“Alexa brought me over here and stole my lunch money! I had to defend myself and get my money back!” Kristina yelled out at you as she broke free of your grasp to grab her lunch money off of the floor. She put it in her pocket and then turned to you.
“You should not fight with someone, not like that, under any circumstances.” You informed the young girl. You were extremely disappointed in her actions. You couldn't believe that she could do something like that.
“But why? Dad kills people all of the time, for any little thing. Why shouldn't I hurt someone if they took something of mine?” Kristina didn't get it, so you had to explain it to her further. It was lecture time, and you took a moment to prepare what you were going to say.
“Listen, Kristina, just because someone does something to you, doesn't mean that you have to hurt them. You should tell an adult and then let them take care of the situation. If that doesn't work, then you should tell your father, and he will kill them for you.” You explained simply. The girl just nodded her head and left the area you were in. she clearly was heading to go get food, so you decided to just head out and go back home.
Tobi
Dexter had a little friend over, Polly. Since there was a friend over, Obito was being Tobi currently. He was watching the children for a little while, while you had to make the children a snack. However, when you came back, Tobi was nowhere to be seen and Dexter was shaking with something you thought might be anger. You were about to question him when Dexter began to scream at Polly.
“How dare you say something like that about my dad?! He's an amazing father, you shouldn't say something so cruel to him! You upset him and made him run away!” Dexter was yelling at the girl, who just stood up from her seat and shoved Dexter away. You were shocked and was about to interfere when she began to yell at him.
“Your father is a creep and a freak! He is a terrible father to you! I can't believe that you have a father like that! I feel so bad for you!” Polly kept yelling the same things over and over again, causing Dexter to flip out and lunge at her. The two children were knocked to the ground and began to roll around and scream at each other.
“Hey, stop that, now!” You began to yell at them, horrified and confused to how things got so bad so quickly. You set the tray of food down and immediately moved to break the two up. You pulled them apart and set them on their feet. “What has gotten into you two?! I thought you were friends!”
“I thought so too!” Dexter cried out as tears began to form in his eyes. Polly just glared at the two of you and chose to not speak up. “She began to tell me all about how dad is a terrible father and even made him run off because of how upset he became!” Dexter began to cry as Polly just stuck her tongue out at him.
“He is a terrible father, so I wasn't telling a lie or anything,” Polly growled out in an arrogant tone. You shook your head and grabbed Polly by the arm.
“I think it's time for you to go.” You then guided/dragged the young girl out of the place and pushed her away from your home. “Go home and never return.” You told the girl as she began to walk away.
“I don't plan on ever returning!” The girl yelled back at you. You just shook your head and closed the door. You were shocked that there was someone in your child's life that could be such a brat. You made a mental note to never let Dexter bring home a friend for a little while, and to have him make sure that they were a real friend before doing so.
Kisame
You, Kisame and Alexander all went grocery shopping on a day off. It was a nice little trip. You all got everything that you needed until Kisame wanted to get something specific. He wanted to get some type of fish, so he went off in search of it, leaving you and Alexander to yourselves. After a few minutes of just chatting, someone approached the two of you.
“Hey, Alexander! How are you?” You two turned around to see a boy about Alexander's age. He just stood there for a moment before your child responded to him.
“Hey there Aaron. I'm doing good, how are you?” Alexander responded with a smile on his face. He seemed excited to see the other boy.
“Did you see that weird blue guy over in the fish aisle? He's such a freak. I can't believe they let people like him walk around, what a monster, you know?” Hearing those words from Aaron seemed to shock both you and your son. You weren't sure what to say for a moment. So, you just let Alexander react for you.
“That's my father.” Alexander simply stated, with a frown on his face. Aaron seemed to not like that and frowned as well. He then opened his mouth and shut it a few times before he finally responded.
“Well, that makes you a freak and a monster as well, doesn't it?” Aaron then turned to walk away, when Alexander moved into action. Your son then shoved Aaron and Aaron retaliated by turning around and punching Alexander right in the face. The two boys then began to throw punches and kick at each other. You were shocked at first, but then quickly pulled the two boys apart.
“You two shouldn't fight here! We are in public and it isn't right to fight amongst friends!” You yelled at the two boys, causing them to stop their struggling. They just took to glaring at each other. “Now, Aaron, apologize, you shouldn't talk about my husband like that. It isn't fair to judge anyone based on their appearances.”
“No! He's a freak!” Aaron struggled out of your grasp and ran away, leaving you and Alexander confused and a little upset. You just shook your head and turned to look at your child.
“Now you, you shouldn't just attack people like that, but thank you for defending your father. He isn't a monster and more people need to know that.” You spoke to your son, causing Alexander to smile. You just hoped that next time, Alexander would fight with words, not fists.
Madara
You and your children were all out in the front yard playing. The weather was nice and everything was going well until the neighborhood bully appeared. Her name was Abby. She was about 5 years older than your girls were, so you were nervous when she appeared before them. You knew that something bad was about to go down.
“Hey, loser! You and your lesbian whore getting along?” Abby yelled out to Arcadia. Instantly your youngest daughter froze up and became angry.
“Don't call Serena a whore!” Arcadia cried out angry and disgusted with the older girl. Abby just laughed and walked over to shove Arcadia. Immediately, Eclipse was there and on Abby. Both girls were thrown to the ground as Eclipse began to yank at the other girl's hair. However, Abby was bigger and stronger, meaning Eclipse was instantly thrown on her back and Abby began punching the younger girl.
“Don't mess with us!” Adrien yelled out as she tackled Abby to the ground. Abby punched Adrien right in the face, but another punch was stopped by Arcadia jumping in the mix and landing on Abby as well. The four girls rolled around on the ground, screaming, punching and kicking each other. At first, you just watched to see what was going to happen, but as things got more serious, you realized that you needed to step in.
“Girls, girls! Stop that at this moment!” You instantly pulled Eclipse off of Abby and shoved her aside. Then, you pulled off Adrien followed by Arcadia. You then held your three girls back as they tried to get at Abby some more. Abby just got up and glared at the four of you.
“You'll pay for attacking me! You'll regret that!” She then ran off screaming about something or other. You didn't pay much attention to it, as you were more concerned with your children. You checked each child over to make sure nothing was seriously injured.
“Are you three okay?” You questioned, slightly horrified at what all had just happened.
“We're okay. Aren't you mad at us?” Eclipse questioned but you could see the same question on all of your children's faces.
“No, I'm not mad at any of you. I'm proud of you. You all stood up for the people you loved. That is something to be proud of, not mad at.” You just smiled at your children and led them back inside. You weren't sure if anyone saw what happened, but you knew that there was enough time outside for one day. You also knew that if Abby ever came back around, then Madara would handle it. So, you weren't worried about your children.

From teen sweetheart to serial killer-to-be.
If Lorde ever had an image in mind when she wrote White Teeth Teens, it’d probably have been Ross Lynch. With his beach-blonde hair and all-American image, he’s captivated young hearts across the globe with his performances on Austin and Ally and Teen Beach Movie. Between acting and touring with his pop band R5, he’s accumulated the kind of social media presence big brands can only dream of. He’s also one of America’s most notorious serial killers. Kind of.
Ross’ latest acting role sees him cast as cannibalistic serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, who captivated the US’s national attention in 1991 when his 13-year streak of necrophilia-inspired murders finally ended with an arrest. Despite his death in 1994 at the hands of a fellow inmate, the four films, three TV specials, and 11 books focused upon his life testify to Dahmer’s firm grip upon the US psyche. My Friend Dahmer is the latest artistic project to focus upon one of America’s darkest men – but what exactly is America’s sweetheart Ross Lynch doing taking part? It’s all a part of Ross’ plan, apparently. Read on for our interview with Lynch about his band, his acting, and just why exactly he’s playing a notorious serial killer.
What’s going on with the whole image change from wholesome to gruesome?
This was always the goal, even when I was doing Austin and Ally stuff. I knew I wanted to do a weird indie film next. That was always the goal. But that [image change] definitely threw a few people by surprise when I chose to do My Friend Dahmer. The film is basically Jeffrey Dahmer before he’s killed anyone, and it’s him becoming the monster we know him to be. It’s quite a sad story, actually. People usually come to me and ask if it’s a horror film, and they’re a bit like “Do you have a knife and you slash people up?”. The film is actually more about the people that abandoned him, and how that made him who he was.
How did you prepare for the role?
It was a lot of research, a lot of preparation, a lot of watching videos and trying to get his physicality down. We looked a lot at how he behaved with others. He had two sides to him, and that’s how he persuaded people to come home with him. He did have a charm. But obviously, most of the videos we see of him today are videos where he explains why he killed people, so it’s charismatic Dahmer. But I played Dahmer when nobody was looking, when he was alone.
Do you see your preparation as similar to how Heath Ledger prepared for The Joker?
No, not the same kind of way. Heath Ledger, or from what I know of him, hid himself away for months. He was getting into The Joker. I was playing a high school kid, someone who’s trying to figure out who they are. Part of our process was trying to forget the fact that he’s going to become one of America’s most notorious serial killers. Instead, we just played the high school kid.
Will we see these darker themes in music from R5?
There’s a song that Rocky, my brother is working on right now. It’s a working title, but we’re calling it Mrs Nova. It’s not about killing people or anybody, but sonically it sounds a lot darker. Within R5, we’re trying to create a smooth transition in our music. Our first record was a small record called Louder. It had a lot of pop songs, not all written by us, but now we’re in a place where we’re writing all the songs, producing all the songs, and they have darker themes that we want to explore. It isn’t a harsh 180° turn - we’re trying to make it a smooth transition for the fans and make it a smooth ride. With our new EP called New Editions, you’ll definitely hear the sonic growth and darker themes. It’s really started to get up the alley of the songs that we’re talking about.
What are the plans for the summer?
We’ve got an American tour that’s booked. We’re going to Mexico, we should be going to Europe in September/November, all whilst hopefully keeping on the same creative path. It’s a lot harder to write whilst on the road.
Bands such as St Lucia have talked about how hard it is to write songs whilst on the road. How do you find it?
I love that band! It’s so different writing on the road compared to writing in the studio. You have so many different things inspiring you because you’re not necessarily living an everyday life? You’re on the road. The things that you talk about are so different. You also don’t have the same set-up - when we go on a tour, it’s just like a laptop and a few interfaces so we can record audio.
St Lucia’s lead singer Jean-Philippe Gruber discussed losing his cultural identity when we chatted to him. Do you feel the same way?
A little bit? It’s so hard when you tour. Like, it’s the same thing for me. I don’t know if I’m 100% American, just because I don’t spend my whole year here. If anything, I’ll spend a few months here, and then it’s a few months in Europe, and then a few months in South America. What do they call it, an ex-patriot or something like that? I’m not really an ex-pat, because I don’t have another passport, but in a sense I feel like I am.
Where’s the best place that you’ve visited?
I think that the most surprising place, when I tell people, is Tel Aviv. They’re a bit surprised that a pop band from LA could go to Tel Aviv and sell a few thousand tickets, but we were too. We had this whole fundraiser online where people could type in their city and then whoever had the most votes for their city we would go to their city, and Tel Aviv had the most votes.
Do you prefer acting or singing?
Recently, I’ve been growing fonder of the music. Notoriously, I’ve always been more a fan of the music. With the acting, I kind of have to wait for somebody to book me to be an actor, but I can always be a musician.
Would you ever give up acting full-time?
I don’t really know what the future holds, but I don’t think I’d ever do that. Acting is such a great outlet to do something outside of music. I’m the kind of person that doesn’t necessarily want to do the same thing all the time, so to have something like acting is great to break the mold.
Do you prefer to shoot movies or TV shows?
I think I like movies. TV shows are fun, because you really get to develop a relationship with cast and crew, and you get such a good bond from people. But a movie is fun, because you get two or three months to live in a fantasy world and you’re in a different country with. It’s a time in your life. Whenever I think of Dahmer, my brain just gets filled with all of these different memories that happened when we filmed Dahmer. Whenever I think of Austin and Ally, it was four years, so it’s a huge block of time in my life rather than just a few months.
You’re currently working on a new film called Status Update. Can you talk about that?
We haven’t sold it yet, but it’s an indie film and we’re looking for distribution now. I like to describe it as 17 Again; you know that movie with Zac Efron? It’s the same director, but it’s just me in Zac Efron’s spot.
And finally, what’s the go-to order in Starbucks?
Recently, it’s been cold-brew. Just because it’s simple and to the point. It’s kind of like black iced coffee, but it does have a little twang? You can just taste that it’s stronger than your average coffee.
