Getting an Open Heart book pass unlocked a ton of repressed memories in my mind about how unhinged and toxic the fandom got whenever it had chapters actively releasing and I have never been more thankful for how lukewarm and disengaging some of these modern books are because Open Heart really brought out the worst in the playchoices community

I know this has been a long time coming but I am back.

I have unfortunately lost my old account, I cannot for the life of me find any of my passwords to anything so that’s fun. So I will be continuing on this account.

If I’m being completely honest I was going through a lot in my personal life, and so my interest in Open Heart & writing overall did fizzle out. I never went to go MIA with no explanation and I am sorry. But I am back!!

Hi! I'm new here and figuring out how Tumblr works (poorly). I read Open Heart (Choices) and loved it. I'm recovering from surgery so I would appreciate any recommendations.

Can you recommend OPH writers to follow? My favorite LIs were Ethan and Bryce. I wish Tobias and Aurora had been LIs, so I'd like to read about these four most.

Also, do you recommend any other Choices stories to read?

open heart was definitely a book that caught the fandom’s attention but honestly…. it was a hard time to be a black fan. the amount of casual anti-blackness was INSANE!!! from people attacking harper for her relationship with ethan and attacking aurora for simply just existing. tobias’ existence brought about a lot of hatred for seemingly no reason to when he hadn’t done anything remotely bad. also people wanting kyra to die for bryce’s development and raf to die for… the plot? which was already ass anyway and raf’s death wouldn’t have done anything of substance. the worst part about it all is that pb deliberately encouraged this through their writing, through their choice of plot points and the way they represented their characters. the fact that mc and aurora are forced to have a massive blowout over something minuscule? the decision to add harper to the diagnostics team even though she’s a surgeon? and have her suddenly want to heat up her old relationship with ethan??? when she literally didn’t gaf about that man until then. even the choice with making elijah turn on mc and take ethan’s side? it really made me look at pb sideways and the fans who were fanning the flames of the fire that pb set alight.
