"You know how chess is basically a game about two kingdoms going to war with eachother?" The being asked, his white gloves gesturing about lazily, "well wouldn't it make sense for chess competitions to make the players go into the next round with only the pieces that "survived" the last war? It would be more interesting."

Danny smirked as he watched Mr. Drakes mind whirring at all the new strategies and potential. Comforted in the knowledge that Mr. Drake wasn't going to get much paperwork done tonight, let alone have time to work on his project for the competition, Danny let himself vanish from the other boys office.

All he needed to do was keep distracting Tim from the competition and that prize was all Tuckers.

He just prayed Sam didn't find out he was doing this or that he was getting chased around by bats every other night or else she'd kill him the rest of the way

I'm dead serious when I say this comic is beat for beat something that happens in the film #Guy who told this women *nothing* about the peril she's in form the government tells her he (legally) killed her.#She responds by saying “Care for a little necrophilia?” with NO ROMANTIC LEAD UP.#THE MUSIC SWELLS. HE TEARS OFF HIS JACKET AND DIVES INTO THE BED. SCENE END.#Jill Leyton has incredible range as a hot butch and hot femme. Was the line bizarre? Yes. (the jason one is in reference to the fanon headcanon/au that Jason and Damian potentially knew each other and interacted while jason was in the league. I've thought about it before in context of this au, but haven't thought about it enough to feel inspired or motivated to make a post exploring the idea)

(diablito means, as you can guess, 'little devil'. while i'm neutral to latino jason, i think the nickname is cute as fuck and was danny's main nickname from Jason. i don't wanna touch that timeline so im not gonna decide how old they were when Jason was there.)

The observations and gossip add a lot.#And it helps reposition us to what the external perspective is on these two. Namely that 'they don't get along.'#Tensions are known! Even here in Nouveau Lotus Pier.#Ah...Lan Wangji never got a chance to see the Lotus Pier of Wei Wuxian's childhood and adolescence...did he?#It's not the same. He's not the same. Call them by the same name and people will know what you mean...#...but the first version - the one with the fond memories - is gone for good.#It's sort of interesting isn't it? How names can hold so much power and still be hollow?#We often get stuck over past versions of things. Be it ourselves or other people or places.#Change is scary but the truth is nothing ever stays the same. It's always moving. You're always moving.#It's okay to mourn the past. Thinking about Kay coming for ND-5's rescue again for absolutely no reason but because I love everyone's reactions.

I love how Kay makes her priorities clear and that she came to save ND-5 while saving Asara is barely an afterthought (outch!).

ND isn't really able to show emotions on his face, but, boy, you can tell he's shooked and his processors are running hard in this moment, trying to process the fact that Kay came after him, risking it all for him!

And I just love the way Jaylen and Asara look at ND with their matching expressions saying "Wait, him??? You're here for HIM?!?" (I think that both of them are a bit smitten with Kay in the game, well everyone is smitten with her for good reasons).

This is like one of the top and iconic tropes with the hero coming to rescue of their beloved last minute and I have so many feels about this.

And don't even get me started on how Kay wears the Stormtrooper gear in this scene, making her look like a knight in shining armor, and ND, restrained by the restraining bolt, is basically the cursed/chained up damsel in distress in the clutches of the evil syndicate king.

The game really went hard with these classic romantic tales/tropes for them.
