An idea i had while writting the last update

Quick reminder of the rules for our translations: While you are free to quote short excerpts from our translations, we have a no-tolerance policy for copying large sections up to entire chapters, especially if you're then posting those full chapters anywhere online, including on other platforms such as Facebook. Doing this CAN and WILL get you banned from all of our current and future projects.

It's bad enough to take someone else's work and upload it outside of their control without crediting them. But please also remember that fan translations are most decidedly not legal, and publishing them to a wider audience via uncontrolled screenshots is liable to draw the attention of the original author and publisher, which could get our translations taken down entirely for everyone. Drawing enough attention may result in not only current but also future translation projects being canceled.

We're doing this out of love for the series. Don't be the one to ruin it for other fans.

Quick update!

Hey, guys, I think I'll go on a small hiatus on the fic until, at very least, January 7th, because of New Years and the planned trip with my family.

In meanwhile, I'll still try to make art and finish the first playlist for the AU! (Maybe I'll make a short comic, I wanted to do for awhile now)

But in the meantime, see you all soon :)

So it's been a while, huh? Lots happened between posts, good, bad, and so-so. I won't go into details or whatever, but I've been a lot happier the past 5 months. I will also have someone help me with the artwork for each update, so hopefully, that speeds things up! DId you guys have any specific sources you consulted when doing research for speakesies/underground jobs, and whatnot? If so, do you have links or any recommendations for sources?

Hi there! To be honest, not really! Although I read pretty widely, including books from the 1920s (Anita Loos, Zora Neale Hurston, Scott Fitzgerald, Nella Larsen, etc.), enough to get a general sense of the era more broadly, my main source of inspiration for a speakeasy-type setting is the PC adventure game Nancy Drew and the Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake. Which is probably more fanciful than accurate.

The future of this blog

Hello everyone! So. Now this blog has fulfilled its purpose of counting down the days until Good Omens season 3's renewal! 142 out of 365 days, or 38.9% of the year, or two-fifths if you round it up.

Starting today, this blog will be on a permanent hiatus from now on. I don't think I'll be able to track all of the bits of promotional material that'll come out for season 3. The latest season 3 news is what @fuckyeahgoodomens, @goodomensonprime, and @goodomenshq are here for, so give them a follow if you haven't yet <3

I'll still return to reblog some very important season 3 news and that shall be it. That includes things like the casting info, release date announcement, S3 intro, and trailer.

Sorry, still not an upd8, I just wanted to explain why i haven't really posted anything this past few months

So basically in this last few months I have been gone:

-We lost the home we had been living for almost all my life (20+ years)

-Had to move in like a month to a new rental home

-I started my school practices and im in my last semester before graduation!

So yeah, a lot has been happening and im pretty busy, which became worse when I kinda lost my motivation for the au and drawing in general, but it has lowly been coming back to me, I'm still totally unsure of if next month there will be an update but I'm not abandoning this blog!

So if things go well, I'll see you at the end of november :D

TW swearing, performative activism

So. Recently I've learned quite a bit of information that I did not acknowledge until far too late into my burnout. This post is intended to sum it up, explain my choices and spread the word. I'm no longer going to be covering Royale High updates, I'm quitting the game and I am refusing to enter it even to check out anything new. The blog will be kept to archive that which was posted.

Details, distasteful language, rant and sources below.

Royale High was my childhood game. I always idolized the developers, believing that they are just like me, designing something that they love for others to enjoy. I was a young fool, unaware of what was actually happening behind the curtains on software I never touched. I liked participating in the community, I liked being helpful, I liked getting back home from school every day to play it with my friends.

That was then. And this is now.

I've dug into some areas to look for more details regarding the upcoming waves for the new school, and I've found some unsettling things on the bird app that I cannot quite get over. This includes the following: (note: this is all old. i am behind the times. however, it is still very much an issue and nothing has changed.)

Performative activism during 2022 Valentine's Event - still not settled. You may have heard what happened during 2021's event, but you may not know that multiple black creators and activists were asked for their help with the BHM stand. None of their work was accepted by nightbarbie, and a part 2 for that part of the event was cancelled with barely no communication to the team contracted for it. Sources: twitter, wayback

Over 400 people were not paid properly after making faces, clothes and hair textures for Royale High. For a game that makes thousands DAILY off of their work, they should at least return some of that money to artists who carry their success. Diamonds, badges and lofty 'exposure' does not pay the bills or fill the belly. A majority of the people who submit their work are minors, and they do not know better. They think that compensation in exposure is enough - and oftentimes, they don't even receive that. Here is a spreadsheet of all the unpaid artists.

Possibly silencing people speaking up against them on the basis of the in-game Code of Conduct!!! Despite me agreeing with safety policies to protect younger people, the way that it is worded allows the developers to ban the community for saying anything that they don't like. If anything, that should have been the biggest waving red flag for me from the very beginning.

I'm done with this fucking dev team, done with the community, done with the economy, done with everything being pushed back and back to cover ANY form of dissidence. I'm not going to handle this anymore! I quit!
