Here are some of my hot (or maybe tepid) takes about arcane:

(Under the cut bc i got wordy lol)

-the show could have used another season or like at least 5 more eps per season. Thats not a dig at the creators bc we know they were already forced to cut stuff out, but imho it shows a little, esp in s2. I fully believe Sevika was one of the biggest victims here, i genuinely believe she had an arc in s2 act 3 that was fully cut. And her being one of the biggest defenders of zaunite independence also means that by cutting her they basically gutted that storyline.

-the sheer lack of time with some characters also means that i simply did not connect with some of them, which made their deaths kind of underwhelming. Like i gasped when loris, isha, elora and sky died, but i cant say i was actually sad. That might be a me problem, but i need a little more time and info on a character to feel literally anything about them.

-on the other hand: we need to accept that sometimes background or minor characters are just that. No they werent robbed, no they werent underwritten, theyre simply not that important and thats OK bc theyre characters, not real people. You dont need to give equal attention to all characters for it to be "fair". And i sometimes feel like ppl think they HAVE to bemoan this. esp when its a female character a lot of fans talk about "sidelining" or "theyre using them as a plot device!!" Buddy, sometimes characters are literally just there to move the plot along, thats not inherently a social justice issue. (Ive seen this the most with sky and lest and like.... sorry, they were never gonna be more important than this. They can still be your fave, but just bc you wanted to see more of them doesnt mean they were sidelined for nefarious reasons)

-however sometimes the problem isnt that a character got too little screentime. S2 is a perfect example to show you can do a lot of character work in less time (viktor, ekko) and little character work with a lot of screentime (vi, sorry). Viktor and ekko were missing for entire episodes and managed to have full character arcs and vi was kind of there the whole time, but stuff just happened to her? Like she does do a lot, she looks incredibly cool, i liked watching her scenes, but her motivations, her goals and her values are ALL over the place. I love caitvi, but it did kinda ruin vis integrity when she threw away core beliefs (she becomes an enforcer, she temporarily agrees to kill jinx, she participates in chem warfare against the undercity) for cait. Hmmmmm.....

-i wasnt that deep in the fandom in s1 so i might have simply missed it or i might just not be following assholes, but the "jayvik shippers hate mel" thing never made sense to me. NOT because i dont believe it, bc i sure as hell have seen enough mlm shippers be fully misogynistic or racist, but the way ppl (mainly meljay shippers lbr) talked about jayvik shippers being horrible to mel like it was this HUGE thing confused me bc i personally have seen like 2 fanfics where they horribly mischaracterise mel to be a viktor-hating bitch, but thats it? Like, was that an actual problem or was it ppl deliberately misunderstanding stuff? (One specific example: ive seen someone accuse jayvik shippers of being misogynists bc they accused mel of manipulating jayce and sidelining Viktor. Which is a canonical thing happening in the show. Like ofc you can word it in a way to make mel a horrid evil bitch, im sure there are ppl who DO hate mel and think she is an evil succubus, but this person in particular just seemed upset about the fact that ppl were talking about things that mel canonically did.) This is a genuine question, bc from my pov after s1 mel was one of the fan faves and jayvik wasnt THAT big of a deal until s2. I literally saw a hundred times more jayce hate than i did mel hate, but maybe thats not the universal arcane fandom experience? Like, again, i HAVE seen (for lack of a better term) fujoshis get wildly hateful towards female characters in the vicinity of their ship, i was just pleasantly surprised that the arcane fandom seemingly DIDNT. So the unrestrained resentment and bitterness of some fans after jayvik "went canon" caught me off guard.

-the reason i ask this: i saw a video where someone talked about some rando homophobic timebomb fans who apparently resented caitvi for getting a happy ending instead of jinx and ekko. So i commented "i s2g het-shippers act like theyre an oppressed group sometimes" to which another person responded "well jayvik fans were really shitty about mel, soo...." and i was so fucking confused bc what? The video wasnt even about mel or jayvik?? They just heard me make a snarky comment about het ships and immediately felt called out. But yeah thats what prompted my question.

-i dont get the thirst for the fish man. I get the salo thirst even less. I cheered when jayce bonked him.

-i actually dont want jayce or viktor to appear in future projects. While i love the idea of them being ~not dead~, i think any further canonical storylines about them would devalue the extremely emotional ending they had. Like, imagine if they only bring one of them back?? What then?? No, i actually prefer post-canon fix it fanfics in this case. (Cough cough esp bc this way i can still plausibly delude myself into them being actually canon and yall KNOW it probably would not stay this way if their story continues)

Everyone's already talked about this but wow Optimus is portrayed so well!!! I love the dialogue when he describes Cybertron. Also love the pink backgrounds i some panels!! Anyway the interaction with him and Spike feels good and authentic. nice

The fight scenes. SO good to me, I think the art is super dynamic and the way the sound effects are written give great impact. The artist knew what they were doing for sure. I love how they use the comic media to its fullest. With those different shaped slanted box panels, and the smear lines when somethings moving fast idk

I also looove the shading in these comics!! and the linework like on their faces really helps the atmosphere. once again i love the sound effects (especially that big TONG) when starscream gets hit lol it just looks like all the fonts were designed or drawn by the artists yk?? and the variety of camera angles throughout is cool too.

Also love the relationship between optimus and the humans. It feels... better than how other transformers media has handled it (imo). I think its sweet

again great comic art the lighting.. the EVERYTHING idk i just admire this artist a lot (i think his name is daniel warren johnson, although it switches to Jorge Corona later) one thing i love in particular is how the lines are like... a little messy and sometimes a little all over the place-to depict their wear and grime. cool!

Next. Cant talk about skybound without talkingabout THE DECEPTICONS. oh my god. starscream is a spawn of hell. what a bitch. like actually he might be at his worst here hes so diabolical. Anyway even though hes very evil hes still enjoyable to watch because its just idk pure villain. Soundwaves care for his cassettes is sweet as usual. PUNTING Ravage is crazy. cannibalizing Skywarp is crazy. FGELP IDEK WHAT TO SAY except i like the art a lot here as usual its great very comic-y again. SOundwave stays a favorite character.

THIS is an iconic and great moment of skybound, i love it, i lvoe that optimus is willing to use this cannon to further the battle yk also looks badass

also yea, in the 2nd chapter theyre in a tavern, having some beers and trying to think of their next steps now that they busted zydonia out of his horny jail and are proclaimed dead etcetc; vin is - as usual - extremely upset and pissed at zydonia bc smth happened earlier and he considers him the root of all their problems. vin has low alcohol tolerance and is drunk off his ass and making a scene, trying to climb over the table to "beat the shit out" of zydonia and ends up throwing up into his lap instead. zydonia (annoyed) immediately grabs his head and smashes it into the table, breaking it and knocking out vin akjbscjkabkj they cause chaos everywhere they go and this scene is how they met the next member of their group (the tavern owner, my beloved witch)

the older isafrin designs were moreso. i wanted to have a little fun and made them. lawl. but now i get an excuse to share anyway :) so here!!

numbered the details to make it a lil easier. also dont mind these r quick scribbles,,

1- general outfits and stuff. siffrins i wanted to keep mostly similar to how i usually draw them. sleeveless top, horrible and unnecessary amount of belts,, knowing that hes maybe not as eager to change as some others might be. they are comfortable in their style and thats what matters. for isabeau i wanted to keep a familiar vibe, but still change it up. i think he would still wear clothes that are flowy-er etc etc, buuut yeayeayea. not an outfits guy really so jfkf theyre pretty simple.

2- themb!! they look different! siffrins hair is longer obv obv, and no lightless dye anymore. they tie it back usually, but he still likes it long. also some facial hair. important to me. (you may also notice lack of eyepatch,, personal hc that siffrin gets more comfortable without it after making up with bonnie some more. that he maybe depending on it a lot because he thought it would make them uncomfortable, which theyyy dont have to worry about. anymore! so less eyepatch. sometimes still though). isa on the other hand looks mooostly the same! except. ofc. bigger beard. you guys should know i love my beards by now. lawl. other than that mostly the same,, physical pain in me trying to think of a different hairstyle for him… maybe in the future but for now he gets This.

3- new cloak-thing for sif! his regular cloak is probably much more well suited for the travelling lifestyle, much less the domestic stay-at-home lifestyle, soo they changed it up! (and totally not an excuse for isabeau to try out craft stitching nooo definitely not as practice for the future whaat who said that.) they will still wear the old cloak occasionally, buuut not as often as they used to.

4- finally! bonding earrings!!! yes! the designs themselves are pretty simple. squares and change symbols for the design sif made for isa, and a star with bits that go ding-ding that isa made for sif. more importantly, siffrin carved the earrings himself! it is. hard. to do that. a design that is so small. there were many failed attempts and scraped ideas but they got it done! and isa loves them very much. for isas design, the main star part is glass, and the dangling bits are carved gems (picture isabeau, panicking because this is siffrin hes making these for so it needs to be perfect. and he gets odile to help him, because despite all the teasing she is ofc very fond, and helps him out with that aspect of the design.)

i think the reason ppl like to write wriothesley as smooth and in control and knowing what hes doing all times is bc its like. easy? im not saying theyre Falling For The Facade(tm) or anything but its just very easy to look at what he outwardly presents and accept that as all there is to it. even if you take the caveat of "well of course he has hidden depths, he even jokes about having trust issues" its one thing to go, well, hes not perfect, and another to actually think about how those imperfections would manifest, if that makes sense?

actually i feel that the... casual? way wrio presents himself with IS part of (gestures widely) his problems with personal connections. if he jokes about his issues and redirects questions about his past he doesnt need to open up, because haha, hasnt he already told you he has problems trusting people?

anyway. the way you explained that Hey Actually, Maybe The Consequences Go Deeper Than Just Surface Level is just 👌 A+ elaboration. but idk as i said its easy to just stay at that surface level and not do anything more than that. (not that ppl need to, i mean. we are all here for fun. if you simply want to write about getting railed theres nothing wrong with that obv. its just that sometimes the hornyposting simply boils down complex characters to Smooth Dom(tm) when itd be way more interesting to dig a little deeper imo)

You know I agree I think a lot of times people just want to write a surface level interaction of a relatively simple moment without too much thought of his inner turmoil/trauma and that’s okay. I think they’re enjoyable reads. I think my disconnect with his more “fanon” interpretation as I’ll call it is that I think the persona he has during his surface level interactions sort of gets confused for how he’d react to anything beyond the surface too. It’s not so much that people interpret his emotional maturity and his trauma responses differently than me, but it almost feels like those things aren’t a factor at all when he’s written in something that’s anything a little more on the emotional side if that makes sense. Like it just feels like they are writing someone who’s entirely separate from the trauma and dark past that he has. TO ME, and I say this very emphasized, TO ME, a lot of times it feels like he’s written as though he never had any trauma to begin with—and I don’t necessarily think all of his trauma has to always be tied with his parents. That’s a large factor, yes, but there’s also the fact that a lot of his basic needs as a child, both physically and mentally, were not met and arguably, still are not really met at all. He still hardly sees the sun. It’s implied the fortress doesn’t smell the greatest and he’s used to that. He craves companionship from perhaps a pet or a small creature of sorts but ultimately decides it’s unethical to have a living creature there with him. Most of his character centers around being failed to be provided by the basics of what nurtures a healthy individual, so it’s only natural that when he’s put in an actual intimate relationship where both people are required to meet each others needs, he will fall short. And that’s okay, ofc—I don’t think he’s a bad partner for it, but I do think that writing him in more vulnerable and emotionally charged scenes if people are, requires a little more instability from him regarding his own understanding of what he’s thinking himself. And I only really complain about the absence of this instability when I am reading a scene that feels like it’s intended to be emotionally charged/vulnerable.

WHICH again, I’m not saying that my interpretation is the law LOLLLL I’m sure a lot of ppl disagree with my portrayals and that’s okay. But I do personally think that a lot of his outward charm and charisma gets confused for him being healed and having a grip on his complicated feelings about intimacy and trust in general. I think that in a deeply close and intimate relationship, a lot of his unresolved feelings would start to show up in a bit of a juvenile manner of handling them and that’s because, again, his ability to actually focus on his feelings and process them was stunted at a very juvenile age where he only could focus on survival as his main concern.

THAT BEING SAID. Everyone is entitled to their own understanding of his character and I think people are very talented when it comes to writing him. But I am also just extremely picky and wish more fics that overlapped with my own interpretation would come my way bc I wanna read them and enjoy them 😔

summary of plot (no spoilers): a dorky awkward kid named Kevin is friends with this wannabe metalhead named Hunter. they're starting a band together but because of their flaws, their progress fumbles a bit. however, after finding out about their schools Battle of the Bands, they start working to prepare for the contest. as they improve their skills, they also improve their social lives and their own personalities

general thoughts: I GENUINELY LOVED THIS MOVIE SM????? god if youre into movies about a buncha flawed misfit friends then this is definitely a movie i'd recommend. the first few bits are a little awkward because you can kinda feel that the actors are still getting into their roles, but sticking it to the end is ABSOLUTELY worth it. all of the characters were so lovable and it genuinely filled that "i wanna see a movie about people just being people" hole in my heart. i still have no idea how to describe those kind of movies, but i feel like if yknow then youll know.

i also really loved hunter. like there was a lotta scenes where i wanted somebody to punch him in the face, but he was honestly still lovable even throughout those scenes and he started improving a lot near the end, which was really nice to see. he obviously wasn't completely redeemable since there were still a lot of things he could've done better, but i feel like the fact that he didn't completely become perfect is what made me love his character a lot more. it felt really real to me. he isn't perfect, but he genuinely wants to make up for the shit he's pulled and he's absolutely trying to show it, and isn't that what living's all about anyways? either way, we love hunter in this household <3333

lol. lmfao. i think vampires remain god awful metaphors for predators the second you know anything about predation or how it happens in nature.

okay lets start with the parasite bit because thats easier for me. parasitism is also a little bit of a... non-definition too, and technically is just another form of predation too (much like how we should probably define herbivores as predators too because plants are alive and just as alive as animals and the actual mechanics of herbivory is better understood that way but Oh Well i cant even get people to understand that reptiles are alive so plants are a no-go), so all im really talking about is disputing a certain idea of how they behave as predators. for the purposes of this, lets define parasitism as a form of predation that consumes prey in units of less than one.

for one, in a significant chunk of media, a vampire preying on a human usually kills that human. im assuming for this that the amount of blood they need is just equivalent to one human, rather than getting into the supernatural weeds of why this kills the human. you could also just assume the vampire is incompetent and dispatches the prey due to not know how to feed on blood and NOT, but thats bad for the species if all vampires do that.

this is BAD for a parasite. parasites do not actually want to kill their hosts. why would they? for most parasites, the host is not only their source of food but their HOUSE, their source of everything in the world. sure, never leaving the host makes reproduction a complicated mess, but thats the price you pay for getting literally everything handed to you on a silver platter. a parasite is not designed to leave the host, or not for long, and usually makes use of intermediate hosts to do so anyways, minimizing non-host time. did you know most parasites dont actually have any adaptations to manage their body temperature? because if they live inside a host body, then they can just use the hosts body temperature in the first place, nice and perfect for them.

high parasite loads in single hosts are not actually good for the parasite, anyways. anything that effects host health isnt good for the parasite, actually, because they run on such a fine line of "host is healthy and happy = even better food and house for me!" and "host cannot be TOO healthy and happy, because then their immune system has an even better chance to kick me out and kill me (at the same time ofc)"

vampires that just... kill their host upon first contact with said host are not being very good parasites. theyre bad parasites actually. why are you burning your own fields. the blood comes BACK.

but this is when you say, ah! but what if theyre like mosquitos and vampire bats and other forms of parasites that dont live inside their hosts body!

one, you still have the issue of STOP KILLING YOUR DAMN HOSTS. stop removing food sources for yourself in the future!!! but also, theres a reason vampire bats are so fucking weird for deciding to become obligate sangivores as tetrapods, and its because blood is a pretty shitty source of nutrition. its high in certain things, sure, but also it is crucially missing several different things necessary for life to Function, and this is a pretty extreme way to live if you cant just find ways around that. ie: is a vertebrate.

lack of detection is also the name of the game here. you do not want your prey to even notice that you are there, you do not want them to dislodge you, you want to get in and get out. why are you being the exact same fucking size as your prey. thats how you get immediately noticed. and you LOOK like how your prey looks???? in a social animal???? good job getting marked as 1. OUTSIDER TO INSIDE GROUP and 2. POTENTIAL THREAT. theres so much back and forth, pros and cons, competition and collaboration, in social species, that you shouldnt get wrapped up in that if you can help it (which you shouldnt, because you are trying to eat these people, not have your own feeding attempt thwarted because they pulled you into their social dramas and now you cant get close enough to any of them without getting noticed or possibly attacked anyways)

honestly the size thing is one of the big things for me. it makes no sense. theres a reason predators as a rule are smaller than the prey that they hunt, and thats because the 10% rule of tropic levels still applies here. you are operating at an energy deficit. the energy it takes to capture and kill and feed and digest (because you have to have energy to even begin eating something!! even if you dont catch it yourself!! digestion consumes energy!!!) something the size of a human will NOT be made up for by the energy you get from that human if you are ALSO the same size as a human. you are so much more likely to get caught and found out (and no i do not care how op your vampires are, getting outnumbered is far more powerful in real life than it has ever been in fiction because fiction solely runs on "rule of cool" and it kills me when people then try to apply it to real life) (see also: STOP KILLING YOUR SOURCE OF FOOD YOU IDIOTS) (YOU DO NOT GO INTO THE FIELD AND START KILLING ALL OF YOUR HERD OF COWS BECAUSE ONE BULL GORED SOMEONE) (YOU HAVE TO EAT TOO) and to have your feeding attempt botched if you are the size of a human. theres a reason all the sangivores we have are all fractions of a size of the animals that they feed on, AND this is already counting sangivores who eat OTHER stuff too (a lot of blood-feeding insects will also be important pollinators who eat nectar!! vampire bats are weird by only eating blood!!!)

theres also the issue of timing. vampires ALWAYS eat way more often than they should. like, okay, blood is garbage food and it has no fat meaning no extra stores of energy to prevent immediate starvation if you miss one feeding. but these are also animals that are taking a little bit of blood from an animal far larger than them who will not miss that amount of blood taken. they can afford to double-dip, because they arent killing their prey. sure, they can kill their prey in massive swarms, but not only does this primarily effect the young/small/weak and less so for the adults (a fair enough price to pay, babies are cheap and animals always seem to have a higher mortality in their early life than adulthood), but also this is a pretty rare situation to begin with and the bust/boom suggested would be beneficial enough alone to make up for the cost of these losses.

but no. vampires are killing their prey, they have to take a large amount of blood at once (one whole human the same size as them), and they only specialize into ONE TYPE OF PREY. yes, i know theres recent talk of vampires who eat animals, but no. im going pop vampire, the vampire that most people will first think of when thinking of a vampire, basic as shit.

humans are bad prey, okay? this is what all these stories dont understand. humans are really, really bad prey. first of all, we are apex predators to begin with (do not come at me and argue with me about this, an apex predator is literally just one of the largest predators in its ecosystem, can (not necessarily will) eat nearly any other type of animal in said ecosystem, and is rarely predated upon as adults. lions and bears and tigers and sharks are all regularly eaten by other animals when they are cubs. like i said. infant mortality is universally pretty high), so thats a bad call. even in cases of maneaters that exist, theyre nearly all animals that have had their natural form of living interrupted in some way. habitation is the least damaging option (aka why you need to STOP FEEDING THE WILDLIFE), but also if the animal is injured, or sick, or very old, or nursing cubs. aka, all the cases where we would expect an animal to start taking on riskier prey that cannot pan out. the lions of tsavo could not eat their regular prey due to injury and already were feeding off of bodies left behind by the human atrocities of the railroad being constructed. humans both remember and hold grudges. this is a bad strategy, and vampires have made the fatal mistake of absolutely needing to be in absolutely tiny populations just to make the numbers work and also being large enough to actively target. you cannot squish every mosquito, but one vampire already requires such a massive population to support them that you can easily drive them to localized extinction by just killing one.

which is another thing. if you are killing a human every time you eat, and you are eating often, then the humans are not replacing themselves. humans take at least 9 months to make another human, and even that is basically useless without a good decade and a half more of just waiting for them to grow up and get to a decent size which might then be useful for you. if you target the infants to begin with, then thats way less blood, not going to be enough, and youre going to make multiple kills in one night just to make up for that absence, and then some because you need even MORE to make up for the extra energy you just spent obtaining all of said infants. not to mention the time lag itll take for the same humans to make more humans to replace those, AND humans have a limited reproductive window to begin with. this is very bad if you have to eat more than once a week. hell, this is bad if youre even doing the regular predator thing of eating a single large prey maybe once a month (and they supplement their diet with other, smaller prey items to make up for the energy deficit). do you know how long it takes a wildebeest or a zebra to go from calf to reproductive adult? its not 18 years, okay.

and again i just sit here and fume thinking about every excuse made that vampires are using mimicry to look like humans to get close to them. first of all, thats not how most aggressive mimicry works. most aggressive mimicry is looking like something appetizing to your prey item, something it wants to get close to, or something it wouldnt even notice at all. usually if youre looking like a specific animal, its not actually FOR that animal, and aggressive mimicry to begin with is rarer than you think. the only example i can think of is the (small!!!!) fraction of ant-mimicking jumping spiders that do prey on ants, but not only is this rare due to how scary ants themselves are, but it cannot really be just copy + pasted onto humans, who have an entirely different reproductive setup and no queens that churn out hundreds of offspring a day (more than any spider could eat in the one single community of ants) and are mammalian megafauna that have extremely high energetic needs and physical effort required just to kill a single one of those bastards, let alone repeatedly doing it more than once, AND being obligated to navigate space in the same way that they do.

Just as a general statement, I'm not saying I have the completely correct way to interpret all of these . I'm also not saying I think all interactions between them are intended to be romantic . Just how I see their relationship based on their canon interactions.

I think a lot of the appeal to me is that they would work so well together, yet could never realistically work out? Like a 'wrong place, wrong time' kind of thing?

Outside of an alternate universe idea (which the anthologies seem to follow, at least to me), it is literally impossible for them to know eachother for more than a few days lol. Kano already knows of Konoha's existence -- to an extent, but they only ever meet when Konoha joins the mekadan on Aug 14/15 of present day. Then Konoha gets possessed and either ends up being the one to kill Kano, or turns into Haruka's snake as the awakening eyes.

Of course . When I talk about them it's in more of a casual sense? Once again, think of similarly to the anthologies. Konoha and Kano contrast eachother really well imo !!!!! I made a post about this a while ago which you can take a look at if you want, but both individually and together they are the sun and moon pairing of kagepro. Complete opposites yet so perfect for eachother . At least to me lol,,,,

Secondly,, I think they'd both be helpful for eachother? Of course, while the mktrio wouldn't judge him, Kano very clearly feels too insecure to fully let on what he's going through, shown by how he loses it in the otsukimi recital ep of mca. Konoha, with his limited experience of the world, would probably make Kano feel more secure? If that makes sense? Like . With his limited experience, Kano would likely feel as if Konoha quite literally does not have the ability to judge him. On top of that, he probably wouldn't even really say much about it, as he's generally a quiet person. Kano, as someone who isn't all that confrontational when it comes to his own feelings, would probably be more comfortable with that . At least that's how I read it idk . This is all just my interpretation of their nearly-nonexistent relationship.

Yeah what he did was impressive but I also just find it really endearing how Kano is all 😯😯😯😯❗❗❗❗❗❗when he sees Konoha do that,,, I think Kano both feeling a sense of responsibility for Konoha (due to him not being all too aware of things like social cues & whatnot) while also feeling a sense of admiration for him is sweet .

Later on in the novels, after Konoha gets possessed and kills both Shintaro + Kido, then Azami uses memories to come through to Marry & freeze Kuroha/Saeru, despite having barely known him (at least from what we know), Kano still seems to want to save Konoha which makes me 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

i hate second manga route for haruka and especially takane's stupid arcs but LIKE I ALWAYS SAY its got so much going for it. ayano and shintaro especially. ayano being the shittiest sister ever and shintaro being Literally the awesomest brother really gets me like its so funny

shintaro being so. Weird/mean in more typical routes because of retaining eyes even if it's repressed/inactive... i know its because kagepro was written in the course Of Years and it's honestly a game of telephone so it's more a matter of lack of consistency rather than this but i like to explain it with that lol

in main route shintaro and momo barely speaking, not being close at all. but in an original way they were THE closest siblings... sniff sniff. like so much was sacrificed in the way to their happy ending, their relationship being one. and for shintaro (with retaining) to eventually remember this but not momo... and how it'd cause a shift in his behavior bc he REMEMBERS all these moments they spent together in some other lifetime and how he felt about it then, and it's simultaneous with how he feels with this lifetime and this specific relationship he's built with his sister. it's a lot!! he doesn't stop being him, but all these other routes are overwritten over one another and how he feels in each one is completely simultaneous with how he feels about the present. augh. this is complicated for all his relationships ofc like (drum rolls) takane because of Many reasons but for example he fucking killt her once and he KNOWS that. but hehe. kisaragi siblings. that was just my obligatory takane mention bc i can't help myself BUT IM TALKING ABT SHINTARO AND MOMO

momo just sees shintaro acting awkward and trying to approach her and she's like 😐weird. ofc she still reciprocates!! like DAMN shintaro wanting to be her brother and get closer to her?? it's one of her biggest wishes come true!!!! but its awkward as fuck!!

shintaro is dealing with MANY things as he goes through life with all these memories + living past the end of the story, and momo is terrified of scaring shintaro away because she doesn't KNOW all he knows and he's shit at trying to communicate and just talk. but maybe their mom can come home and be like oh. u guys are watching tv together?? thats strange. and theyre like oh. yeah i guess <- wrestled for who got the remote, momo obviously won, shintaro complains but still stays to watch whatever the hell obscure tv show momo is into. shintaro keeps criticizing it and momo's like just leave if it bothers u so much and he's like NO. im googling the directors and writers of this as we speak.

also i know ive said this 1000 times but car guy shintaro. this guy gets his license and is everyone's taxi driver. but ESPECIALLY momo. he drives her to school everyday and they scream sing together the entire way. momo makes a car playlist to sing with him but will never admit it's a playlist specifically made with shintaro in mind and how funny she thinks it'll be when call me maybe comes on and shintaro will be like AUGGH THIS SUCKS LOWER THE VOLUME but immediately starts singing too.

AND ALSO he tries teaching her how to drive and she crashes their mom's car and shintaro takes the blame. as punishment he can't use the car for a while. in that while momo still gets her license Somehow even though she is an awful awful driver and now since shintaro isnt allowed to drive for a bit momo is taking him and he's FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE.

post str ayano with all this guilt over abandoning her siblings and feeling totally incapable of everything, both academically and emotionally. but ayaki is still a little jealous bc even if she Knows how ayano must feel (despite not even being in her head like with shintaro. she knows bc she IS ayano) kano kido and seto DO see her as a good big sister. i think ayaki harbors certain "hatred" for the surviving ayano because she. hates herself. and this ayano has everything ayaki fought for and is still just as incapable and it pisses her off. i think both ayanos feel horrible specifically about kano's involvement in everything and what he had to deal with when ayano died. ayaki thinks god. i/she still failed for protect him. this SUCKS. she knows ayano hates herself bc she hates her and she is her💥

thought it was obvious? xdd but yeah, thats my main OTP, i still believe in my "joanpher canon, joanabe endgame" motto (cause i do enjoy joanabe) but thats just me adhering to canon as much as possible, i can feel it in my bones the final scene on the definitive last episode of clone high, Joan and Abe kiss on screen confirming their relationship but not elaborating further cause the show literally ended lol. that'd be epic.

but again adhering to canon, if it were up to me, the more i thought about the "lol couldnt it be funny" the more i realize that Joan and Topher are actually really perfect for each other and should stay togheter forever yknow? they bring out the worst of each other and have a lot of fun, being haters and outcasts, being truly themselves~♥

Around 3 months ago i tried starting a big RimWorld playthrough where i would work on overthrowing and starting a brand new empire while keeping a bloodthirsty sanguophage royal with a hair trigger happy so she doesn't rip everyone that serves her to shreds.

Unfortunately for me having around 500 mods broke the save at one point (kind of fortunately) early in the playthrough.

To make matters worse for me i have already ended a previous playthrough early for the sake of this one since i just had to try it.

But yeah, unfortunately this is all thats left. i will try to showcase what i have from the w.i.p screenshots of characters and ideology i was sending my girlfriend when just telling her what fucked up things i will need to do <3

Starting off with the most important person in the colony

Luna Vayonor (unfortunately with a default random nickname)

I spent SO MUCH time in the character editor and im still very proud of the result, i often spend alot of time making those characters unique.

I decided to make Luna the best leader i could think of, that being "do as i will or i will kill you and if i have to sleep in a shed for 5 more seconds i AM executing you! You worthlessness pice of- *mental breakdown*"

To offset her specific and exaggerated needs for survival i did make her very powerful by giving her very good traits, skills and skills for the start of the game.

Although i ofc gave her lots of bad ones for character reasons:

- Jealous for alot of negative mood effects if someone has anything better than her (she deserves the best)

- Abrasive is self explanatory she will insult people and has little to no restraint when it comes to saying what she thinks

- Snob was just perfect while creating her. I didn't know it was a trait but here it is! For creating a spoiled royal its just way to perfect

and finally the double edged sword from the traits is quick sleeper believe it or not

Sure it cuts the sleeping time wich is super useful and makes pawns just do more work, but when a pawn is sleeping, theyre not affected by any mood effects. So technically she can have more mental breakdowns that i will explain a bit later cuz they're also special

i actually forgot what everchosen was though

Next we have the xenotype wich was supposed to be a Modified sanguophage one but i forgot a few of thier genomes lol

i went for a mix of combat focused genes and character building ish genes (appearance and personality)

The most important thing? Epsilon psyker and sanguophage thingys

it was the best choice for making Luna psychic while also (like everything else here lol) having a bad side to it since its a permanent negative mood effect! Another thing about psykers is that EVERY mental breakdown they have is violent, this is why everyone needs to keep her happy, she will kill someone otherwise

oh and since shes a ruler thingy i also gave her a mech link and some cool buffs for it.

Also oh my god blood vomit is such a cool thing for them since they loose hemogen so if they est something bad its x3 as bad for them (1. they get negative mood. 2. in most cases food poisoning. 3. loose hemogen. everything giving mood and stat debuffs? why? because fuck me thats why im not allowed to have fun, Loosing is fun!)

Oh btw i didn't mean to give her long ears,.i thought they were horns cuz i was clicking through the appearance genomes to find cool ass horns.

i picked Low immunity and survival to balance things out and not make her eat 24/7 and underdeveloped teeth for the same reason.

Volatile is just fun and makes things a bit harder and easier at the same time so thats that i guess.

rest is just stats and telekinesis cuz thats cool and fits with a psyker ruler thingy.

and yeah thats about it for Luna Vayonor.

Her name obviously means Moon but i just named her after my old dog i had since i was very little, she was a golden retriever but like, she was the whitest one out there, her fur was almost completely white nit like other golden retriever. Fun fact about her! she used to kind of smile by showing her upper teeth and just sniff like that it was so funny looking and she really tried smiling too! (it was a bit annoying explaining it to people that were afraid but yeah!!! it was silly)

The other character i made for this playthrough is this jackofalltraits ball of anxiety

again a wip screenshot but he was almost done!

unfortunately i dont have the xenotype but basically a perfect servant for sangophages.

Honestly not much to say about them anyway. Just wanted to have a actual useful colonist.

They have just a name too since its a servant

Oh and my head cannon was thst they were inlove with Luna but ofc she would never love him back (why would she?)

Oh and thank you @out-of-context-rimworld for choosing Luna's name, happy to see that the character will live on in someone's playthrough. It does fit too since they have a lucyferium need.
