since ao3 is down and I thought I’d offer some of the fics I have saved. There’s a long list under the readmore, just ask me what you want and I’ll send it your way. The Jason centric fics have an astrix as requested

Shadow of a Bat - PaperPuffin

Captured by the GIW, Phantom was a mere shadow of the thing (no, person, he had to remember he was a person) that he used to be. He thought he would never be freed from the bright, white lab. Then what seemed like a mass of living shadow swept into the lab and Phantom suddenly, for the first time in a very long time, felt safe.

When Batman swept back out of the seemingly empty lab, he was none the wiser about the eldritch Phantom stowed away in his shadow. At least not until things started seem just slightly off.

Danny would like to say for the record that it was not his fault.

In fact, Danny would say that it was entirely Clockwork's fault. After all, he wouldn't even be in this situation if it wasn't for that cryptic time god.

But what was his fault was the fact that he kept helping.

He kept taking the cash from the assholes (and damn there were a lot of assholes near where he lived) messing with the residents who lived in the area. He kept accepting their offers of food. So because of this new routine that kept him able to afford to rent out his shitty (and possibly illegal) apartment and the hunger pangs sufficiently satisfied, rumors grew.

tldr; after Clockwork dropped of Danny in Gotham he tries to make the best out of the situation which includes helping out some people. Except along the way that led to rumors that he was an up-and-coming crime boss. A rumor he was largely unaware of.

Basically, Kryptonite has an ectosignature and Danny figures out how to block it.

This is based off of the idea that Ectoplasm is the essence of death and a bit is released when a person died. When Krypton was destroyed, there was enough ectoplasm released that it soaked into the debris of the planet. Kryptonians are so affected because those rocks physically and supernaturally remind them of the death of their people and the possibility of their own deaths.

Everyone Dies But There's Still a Happy Ending - Allain_Kelyarus

One second Danny is trying his best to adjust to his new normal of being the Ghost King and the next everyone he’s ever loved is dead. Danny is struggling to mourn and while Frostbite and the others may have been able to help Danny’s body and core heal, they can do nothing for the human heart and mind that’s in shambles. The solution to that comes from Vlad of all people.

Danny couldn’t help but feel a kinship with the pre-teen that ended up as the current Captain Marvel. A scrappy black haired and blue eyed child vigilante, that only became one because of circumstance.

Danny was going to help this child whether he wanted it or not.

It's not Jason's fault he decided to one up Bruce and become the father he never got!

And it's not Danny's fault his ghost core took one look at this sorta maybe halfa that hasn't formed properly and decided he needed protection!

Aka: That one fic where both Jason and Danny adopt each other and only chaos can ensue from there.

After all, Amity Park is their home, and the idea of having to start over somewhere new isn't very appealing. So the town, for the most part, continues on like normal. In the words of the great philosopher Dr. Ian Malcom "Life, uh, finds a way."

What he wasn't expecting was to instantly fall in love with the chaotic science teacher.

Danny had managed to make a new life for himself in this new dimension as a science teacher at Gotham Academy. He had a fulfilling life, teaching the kids of Gotham how to survive on the streets and then at night protecting the bats who roamed the streets. Now, to make things even better, he had somehow caught the attention of Dick Grayson. If Danny had to be honest, his life was going pretty great for him.

Now he just needed the other shoe to drop.

Clockwork had found him sitting in the centre of a destroyed chunk of forest, numb after he had raged and offered to take him somewhere new. He had agreed, having nothing else to keep him there and not wanting Vlad to find him. Clockwork had deaged his body to match his ‘ghost age’ explaining that ghosts age slower and aren’t a true adult until they’re one hundred years old, which made him look around three. Then, he sent him into another dimension and gave him a city to protect, Gotham.

Danny becomes Gothams ghost and becomes attached to his knights, the bats, especially Jason as Robin, then as Red Hood.

Danny is interrupted by a hand appearing on the liminal’s shoulder. He feels every part of his being roil at someone touching something that’s his. His core screams at him as he darts between the man and the owner of the hand. He feels his body change as he faces Superman, legs joining into a tail as his body fades into an inky void. Hands stretch into claws, mouth splitting into a pointed gash, and eyes turning into swirling, glowing pits. Tail gently coiling around his rescuer, keeping him protected and behind Danny

Superman backs away in sweet fear as Danny’s -no, Phantom’s- voice fills with cracking ice and harsh static and he says,

It started with Casper High failing to fail, resulting in winning the Thomas & Martha Wayne contest despite their best efforts not to, causing them to spend the summer as interns in Gotham.

According to Danny, the miserable expirence ended after he spent the whole summer getting kidnapped because the average Gothomite was blind and couldn't tell apart a sixteen from a thirteen year old which went to it's logical extreme of him putting the Joker on life support after the clown stabbed Damian Wayne and his whole class nearly getting adopted by the Red Hood after they somehow took out the Russian mafia.

According to the birth certificate Bruce found, this was still very much the beginning and why oh why did he always get surprise relationships?! And no he was not panicking, shut up dear children.

The only one not freaking out is Damian who is eager to finally have a blood family member(s?) he doesn't have to worry about trying to kill him or usurp his place as the blood son.

They say he'll do anything Red Hood asks of him and he'll do it well. That he's strong and fast and probably inhuman. The girls say he's sweet, quiet but charming in his own way. Rival gangs say he's vicious, that he'd sooner rip your throat out than let you go. Jason just wants to help him.

Someone like that couldn't be left to just run around unmonitored not even mentioning that active custody case for his soul that was being duked out in ghost court. Danny's ghost court.)

Danny and Jason meet by chance in a graveyard on Christmas Eve over a certain someone’s grave. Neither expect to ever see the other again, until they run into each other at a coffee shop less than a week later.

Besides, Jay just got adopted by the weirdest trio of people he's ever met, so he's got more important things to focus on.

100 years after his half-death in the portal, Ghost King Danny Phantom is in Gotham checking up on a rumor when he senses a baby halfa struggling to form a core.

He practically football tackles his new son all the way to the Far Frozen.

While Frostbite is managing his health, Danny explains why he brought him here, that he's been ghost adopted, and that he can just let Danny know if he'd prefer to be left alone after he's all healed up (he isn't going to force him to be family if that's not what he wants. Danny isn't Vlad.)

Unfortunately for Danny, human hearing is far more limited than halfa hearing, and Jason's core was not yet mature enough to improve his.

Not enough for him to hear Danny's very important explanation from inside the healing tube, at least.

Jason, feeling very kidnapped, decides to remain mostly quiet and cooperative in order to gain information.

Danny takes this as a sign that Jason is scared about his close call with a health issue and open to being adopted, but too shy to talk about it just yet.

What's Jason supposed to do when he comes home one night to find a crying child with only one arm, and Lazarus Pit green eyes, wiping their own blood up from his apartment floor?

The answer is probably not, "Adopt them.", but, hey, he's never had the best plans and the kid looks like he weighs five pounds soaking wet.

(Danny can't remember how old he is - he remembers being sixteen, but he remembers being six even clearer - just that the last thing in his head is someone rooting around his intestines and telling him he's a fascinating specimen.)

Danny wants nothing to do with any of it. He just wants to sell burgers and survive. Actually, he'd like to go home again, but since that isn't possible, he'll stick with burgers.

After his parents react poorly to his reveal, Danny escapes to the only person he thinks can help him - Bruce Wayne. He doesn't know what to expect when he gets there, but it has to be better than where he is, surely? He certainly doesn't expect to be reunited with his long lost twin brother Damian. It's funny how things work out that way.

Or, what happens when a twelve year old masquerading as an adult superhero calls his guardian, an adult who can also turn into a child superhero, on speaker phone, in front of the Justice League.

Is it running from your problems if your problems consider you to be a dead imprint of consciousness that killed their son? Yes, but Danny tries not to think about how his nightmares of his parents trying to kill him came true when they found out he was Phantom.

After being on the run from his parents and the government for a couple of months, moving from town to town, Danny ends up in Gotham City and decides to risk staying in Batman's territory. He'd take the wrath of Batman over live vivisection via beloved parents or being studied and torn apart by the government. Besides, he's not a meta. Being dead is a medical condition.

Jason Todd takes after Bruce Wayne in an unexpected way by having a small child decide he's their dad now. Of course, it starts out rocky and nerve wrecking because this 6-year-old is a brat, but he can't just ditch a Tiny Meta Child with a possible connection to Lazarus Pits alone to wander the streets of Gotham. Even if the kid wouldn't just follow him back home.

Being half-dead had its perks, apparently. Like finding and saving a teenager trying to dig his way out of his own grave. Yeah. This is Danny's life now. He'll still take it over trying not to get skinned alive by Skulker, though.

A Ghost in Gotham - SassyAngel

Danny hated Vlad with a passion but he also held some sort of respect from him. Their relationship was impossibly complicated, bordering between being mortal enemies and best of allies. There have been times where Vlad was the only person in the entire world that he could relate to, both being half-dead science experiments gone wrong and all that. There have also been times where Danny wanted nothing more than to pummel Vlad’s face in and curse him to high hell.

So when Vlad came to him for a favor, Danny squinted his eyes with high distrust. He had to be civil, since he was Fenton at the moment and his parents were around, but he sure as hell wouldn’t be dropping his guard anytime soon. “Let me get this straight, you want me to join you in your rich people party as your honorary son and plus one?” Danny deadpanned.

“Yes, that’s about it.”

In which Danny Fenton has to go to Gotham to stop ghost shenanigans from ensuing. Vlad gets a redemption arch because I genuinely think that (at first) if he only got his head out of his ass then he'd be a cool psuedo dad.
