Summary: Gwen apologizes to Miles for hurting him. But it doesn’t all go according to plan.

It’s all over now, at least for most people. Spot was defeated, but Gwen still had to do something, which she was dreading.

She had to apologize to Miles.

She knew where he was, or at least had a pretty good idea of where he could be. So she didn't hesitate going there.

And just like Gwen expected, Miles was at the Williamsburg Bank Building. Gwen slowly walked up to him. Miles' spider-senses alerted him and he looked behind him. He saw Gwen approaching him, but he didn't want to see her. Not right now.

“You betrayed me, Gwen. I am upset. I really thought I could trust you.” Those words hit Gwen hard, really hard. She felt the tears rolling down her face. “You were the person I could trust the most, and this is what you do?”

Miles turned away, and Gwen felt hurt. “You have every right to be upset, Miles. What I did was really fucked up. And I can understand if you don't ever wanna see me again.” Gwen stopped talking for a second, trying to stop herself from crying. “I just wanted you to know that I care about you. And I would do fucking anything to take back what I did.”

“I wanted to visit you, you're the reason I wanted to join the society-”

“I know you're lying. I'm not the only reason.” Miles now felt tears in his eyes as well. “Just get away from me.”

“Miles, please!” Gwen was now desperate to try and fix this. She couldn't lose another friend because of something she did. “Didn't you hear me? Please, go away now!”

Gwen felt more tears roll down her face. She didn't know what to say anymore, but she was extremely desperate to try and fix this. She couldn't lose Miles, she loved him too much for that.

“Miles I just-”

“Gwen, I don't wanna speak to you.”

“Please, just-”

“I'm done with you Gwen! You can’t just betray me like that and expect me to-”

“Miles, I love you! Please…”

Miles' eyes widened a bit. This entire time Gwen felt the same way about him. “I felt the same way. Now I don't know how I feel about it.”

Gwen felt like she deserved that, she did hurt him after all. “I'll leave you alone now. But if you ever wanna talk about it, or visit anyone, Hobie made you a watch.” She said, giving him a box.

With that, Gwen put her hood and mask back on and swung across Brooklyn, waiting to get to a spot far away from Miles. She didn't feel ready to leave Earth-1610 yet, she just needed to be there for one more time in case things won't be good again. She sat on a rooftop somewhere, observing 1610's New York for maybe the last time.

Gwen wasn't going to try and hold it all in anymore, she let her tears fall, she let herself cry. She was so disappointed in herself. The only friend she had, she lost. It's like she couldn't keep friends because she would be the one to get them out of her life again. Gwen killed her best friend, now she has lost another close friend because she choose a fucked up society over him, one that thinks it's okay to let someone die, just because a story is supposed to go that way.

But then again, Gwen Stacy was never meant to fall in love. If she falls in love, she falls to her death. It's always been like that.

In every other universe, Gwen Stacy falls for Spider-Man.

And in every other universe, it doesn't end well.

Even in this one...

I’m sorry but I will truly never get over Ekko who lost his mentor and all his friends at a young age, then spent the rest of his childhood building a beautiful and strong community that helped get shimmer addicts off the streets and give them a new life that thrived off of trust, respect, and loyalty while slowly watching the girl he loves lose herself to her psyche and become an unhinged suicidal terrorist who he is unable to save despite repeated attempts at it. And THEN gets booted into an alternate reality where he learns he could have had EVERYTHING, the beautiful and thriving community, the education, his family, and the girl he loves and he heartbreakingly leaves it all behind because he knows he doesn’t belong there and he has to go back to save his people which he DOES multiple times at great risk despite knowing what overextending his z-drive could do only to end up completely alone in the end. The most selfless character in the entire series. That’s my boy savior.

guys maybe im going crazy and starting to overanalyse everything in arcane BUT LISTEN

one thing I kept noticing in s2ep7 (which I rewatched an insane amount of times) is how different powder's mimics are from jinx's

like even when her expressions are pretty calm and she's not smiling ear to ear she has SMILE LINES !!!! I've watched arcane a bunch of times and never noted out the same for jinx. yes we see her screaming/crying etc and her mimics are obviously expressive in those moments but when she's not experiencing some crazy shit her face is just kinda blank ??

a lot of people have already said how powder is taller, has different physics and healthier skin tone and I think her expressions is another thing that shows how much her and jinx's lives are not alike

she has a ton of reasons to smile every day while we've barely seen jinx do it :(((( powder is happy and it's literally marked on her face :((((
