Just a small heads up, if you include shipping you may wanna make it clear that there are ships and what ships are there. A lot of people aren’t comfortable with shipping, especially since I’ve seen people say Joel thinks it’s a bit weird to be shipped with anyone other than Lizzie (needs to be fact checked, this is just what I’m seeing in boat boys comment sections). Maybe consider making the ship stuff a separate section or just telling people in advance (pinned post, bio, anywhere clear works) that it includes shipping so those who don’t like it can walk away.

thank you for the heads up! We’re about to get super rambly and vaguely off topic but we promise all your points get addressed. This is actually a great opportunity to clarify, because I realized I didn’t explain myself particularly clearly, if some one does choose to include shipping, its all going to have to be subtext (as always except for shadowbeans whose alternate ship name I still refuse to use), but that is for non-canon ships. Regardless of how people feel about it, c!Joel and c!Jimmy did in fact kiss in Real Life smp, and c!Joel and c!Sausage did in fact have a child together in esmp2, so we’re not gonna rewrite events. Basically when I say shipping in the context of this zine I mean taking relationships the c!Joel had with other people and creating moments that didn’t necessarily happen but feel plausible for the characters that are able to be interpreted as romantic as well as platonic. Also, everyone’s definition of ship art is different, so the level that I was thinking is pretty mild (and btw I’d like to interject here that this is not me dissing on shipping or ship art love shipping so much that I found a ship called the relation and I never left it, but I also know that people have all sorts of comfort levels with different things so this zine is going to be dry docked but I assure you that out there on my super secret personal blog we are very much lost at sea). Like, to give some examples of what would be okay versus not okay for the zine: kissing is pretty much off limits, honestly mostly because that’s a pretty boring zine piece, there’s nothing going on except the ship, but anything where any sort of romance is up to the interpretation, such as hugging, handholding, spending time with, these are all normal things, but also this can’t be the focus of the piece. Please no one just draw like Joel and someone hugging and call it a day. Implied shipping is allowed to feature in your piece, not be the main focus of it. That’s just not an interesting zine piece. Valid art/writing, still amazing stuff keep sharing it on the internet it’s very interesting, just not in the context of this zine. Anyway, you are correct about not everyone being comfortable with that stuff, so if any piece comes off as really shippy without violating the guidelines we’ll make sure to label it correctly, but also, I should make it clear, I’m really hoping that shipping doesn’t become the focus of this zine. It is a Joel zine, so Joel should remain the focus, and any shipping would be subtextual and not central to the zine. There are many great Joel ships out there with lovely content to consume, but that’s not really the focus of this zine. Also, that aside, if Joel doesn’t want his character (because we are talking about shipping cs here. Cc!Joel is a lovely person, but this zine is going to be in-character. Also while cc!Joel should absolutely be respected in what sort of fan content he wants people making about him, his character is, well, just that: a character. Its like saying you can’t ship two characters from an animated tv show because their irl voice actors aren’t comfortable being shipped. It’s just two different things) shipped with characters who don’t belong to his wife, he should probably stop making his c! kiss all those men. And have children with them. And send them love hearts in the mail. And call them babe. If he did it in canon it’s probably safe to say we’re good having them do it in fan content. But again shipping should be an extremely small part of the zine if it’s there at all and should be subtextual enough that even people who don’t ship can still positively engage with the zine!!! If it needs a warning, it’s probably too shippy.

also all this aside if I’m handling this wrong guys I’m sorry I’m only one person and it’s really stressful trying to please everybody I promise I’m trying my best but I just wanna get together with a bunch of other people who share this strange fascination with the bean man and make art and writing about it I don’t wanna get canceled or something I promise I’m trying my best. Please, I'm laughing, I have been sitting on that Glorfindel drawing, poking at it every month or so, since JULY 2023 and there is a very stupid reason why I haven't been able to finish it: I cannot draw Glorfindel solo.

It's my weird, frustrating quirk especially since Glorfindel is my One True Favorite Character. I just can't seem to wrestle him down when he's on his own. He draws just fine in shippy pieces, though. (Interestingly not out of character for the Glorfindel I write. He doesn't like bringing attention to himself and would probably struggle sitting for portraits of himself, but put him in a social/romantic context and he thrives. 💛)

I thought though that Glorfindel Week with the "Helcaraxë" prompt was the perfect time to brute force this piece out—and this was what I ended up needing to do to complete the piece finally akznsmms

As far as art processes go, I always say I am helpless against both my art and writing muse. They come when they will and they bring with them quirks I sometimes just have to find and roll with. The music I play in the background are not necessarily my favorite songs, but they are songs that I play to get something drawn or written. I just did not expect this song for a Helcaraxë scene, Glorfindel please be serious 😭😂

I find it interesting that that message sparked such a flood of defenders, when I did not send it in bad faith at all. From your answer it seems I'm lacking context so sorry if I took some of your statements the wrong way, but nonetheless I just found the parental love addition strange and reacted to that, that was all there was to it. I clearly stated (three times) I'm not taking any issue with your headcanons.

By saying they are far removed from canon I did not mean to say they are "too unrealistic" or something is wrong with that, I literally said the opposite. I meant just that, that factually, this will not be a common interpretation for someone who is familiar with the source material but not your blog. This is not a statement that I made with any judgemental value and I thought I made that very clear but apparently not.

Someone did ask me about it, and you seem to have already seen that response, yet you still felt the need to send another message basically implying that an explanation wasn't enough (turns out it actually wasnt enough because people said I was lying and in denial) and that my explanation was weird too? Which is whatever I already ended up clarifying that, English is not my first language and I type things with the help of a translator (I wish people could actually keep this in mind. I only type in English because it'll reach a wider audience and it's the language most of my followers know. Often I have to google words people tell me online, or I ask my friends fluent in English to explain things for me)

You can say "that's not what I intended" but that's how it came across... you wrote a lot of nice words while also saying it was understandable that people were ganging up on me over a drawing, it seemed patronizing.

That's why me and others took offense to it, but I think it's difficult to tell tone through text so I don't want to keep nitpicking this any further. If you say you had no ill intent then I believe you.

The following will just be me adding more context and not necessarily aimed at you: Again I understand the lack of context of my account can make people confused about my art, Ive made that clear many times.

The art I made where I said "if your parents didnt love you then it's obvious" was a direct response to people who were mocking me specifically for tagging the art as "non-coupling" because they didnt believe me. They got the context and decided I was trying to hide a fetish because a kiss on the cheek was "obviously shippy". They proceeded to compare this to drawing NSFW of Mob and Reigen by labelling it "non-ship" as if it was comparable to tucking a child into bed, that's what upset me. I did absolutely nothing to these people, I dont know them, if they said this privately I wouldnt care but it was public, and they also targeted another friend of mine for no reason.

All Im gonna say is that my drawing shouldnt have caused this much controversy in the first place. I labeled it "non-coupling" as soon as I posted it, which should've been enough honestly. It's not like I posted porn or anything like that, I got the idea from something Ive experienced in my family as a teenager and I could easily google stock images of the exact same scenario to use as reference, like I really didnt think it was that bad.

Anyways I think I've explained myself many times already. Im not gonna be hostile and say to people "roh t9awed dont ever send me anything else related to this" but just.. check if Ive already answered your question so that it doesnt end up being repetitive. How easily do you find yourself joining fandoms or ships?

I'm so easy, I just see a really pretty art piece or a lovely little story and I'm boarding the boat.

Depends, I guess. Like, I'm definitely unable to join a fandom or a ship just from reading fics or seeing fanart. I read fics that were not part of my fandom, with ships I was not familiar with, and while I enjoyed some of them, it usually was just a one-time thing for me and I don't really delve into fics or fanart which is not in my fandom or isn't my ship. If it happens that I frequently come into contact with it, then it's more likely that I fall in love with it slowly, but I usually need someone to get me into a fandom. Most of my fandoms are from TV shows/movies/video games, specifically from those other people got me into. Once I'm in the fandom, it's really easy to find a ship for me there. If I see two characters having incredible chemistry, it's usually just a matter of time before I find myself intrigued enough to go look for fics and from then on, it all goes downhill pretty quick.

On the other hand, it recently happened to me that I wanted to read a fic about one of my favourite characters (so, nothing shippy necessarily) and I found one which featured a ship I had no idea even existed, but I liked the premise and I loved the story and I immediately fell in love with the ship. So sometimes it happens that one story is more than enough haha.

1 • Aikoto, but in a surprising twist only recently. I hadn't cared much outside of "haha nice character" for Aigis until recently much less this ship or any ship and the minimal interactions with her threw me off of the idea on my first playthrough. Now tho it's so bittersweet like a good crunchy dark chocolate.

2 • Doesn't necessarily have to be romantic but also can be, there's some cute Teddie/Aigis moments in PQ/Q2 including a dance in one intro, the idea is just cute in general. A persona who gained a shadow and a shadow who gained a persona? Both gaining an ego let alone a human heart? Who could deny that idea?

3 • Also doesn't necessarily have to be romantic but I'm surprised there's others saying this one too, there's a lot of interesting potential in any dynamic with her and Ryoji. Maybe I just want to see more of these two in general :p

4 • I can't quite put my finger on why but I don't enjoy Femc x Aigis quite as much as Mc x Aigis. I think the two would still have a fun interesting dynamic whether as friends or more but they're worth adding. Probably due to Femc ship biases more than being about her and Aigis specifically aha

5 • Not so much shippy as it is friendly but her and Yukari are a fun duo. Not a big fan of "two popular ships/exes get together instead without the other member" tropes tbh but I'm happy to see they're friends and love seeing art of them doing mundane third year high school things together dealing with their shared grief and understanding

I made this because I want to offer a place for people who feel despised in fandom to take refuge. Specifically, people who have been, are being, or even fear being dogpiled/ostracized for their art, fan interests, or association with anything accused of being ""proship"".

And to be clear right off the bat: I generally understand "proship" to just mean the belief that one can indulge in fiction about horrible things without necessarily being horrible themselves. Proship is a belief. But a lot of people accuse things of being "proship" too (for example, calling a fictional pairing "a proship" or calling the act of indulging in taboo kinks "proshipping"), because the people who attack what they perceive as "proship" believe that proship means "content that endorses pedophilia/incest/abuse/etc." and/or "supporters of those things".

And frankly, at this point, the label is useless, but I just want people to know, in no uncertain terms, that this is absolutely not an, "uwu you were criticized for being a child predator, lemme support youwuwu" blog. I especially have to make this clear because some of the people I intend to give support to do not identify as proshippers, so they might genuinely have a different interpretation of what that word means and then get the wrong idea of what I'm saying, ya know?

Anyway!

You do not have to be a proshipper or enjoy taboo fiction to send an ask. In fact, I made this with neutral- and anti-shippers in mind, because fandom bullies absolutely do not discriminate. I've seen them attack totally sfw, non-shippy art. I've seen them attack other "antis". And I know there are some people out there who are mostly in anti circles and are afraid of stepping out of line. I know there are people who do not like dead dove content and have no desire to make it, who still get attacked. People who actively go after others to appease their friends, and still get attacked. People whose first language isn't English, who get attacked for not conforming to American cultural standards.

But here, you are safe from all of that.

You do not have to out yourself. You can give as much or as little detail as you want, to keep your identity safe. And I will listen and be here for you, and try to provide links to other understanding spaces too.

Whether you want to vent about being in a sticky situation with your friend group, or want advice or new perspectives, or want to send positivity to other followers of this blog, or if you just want me to share your GoFundMe or something... I'll try to give everyone a spot!

Unfortunately, I do have to set some boundaries so that I don't hurt myself. Here's a set of resources for people who have been harassed online.

For proshippers, there's a server called Profiction Hub that directs to other servers, all of which are proship-friendly, but may have other rules that don't fit your needs (such as some being anti-endo and some having a maximum age cap). Only some of them have either of these rules btw. One server is even open to neutral-shippers as well.

Idk if it's just a me thing, but IMO the best Camp Camp fan content is the non shippy kind.

Don't get me wrong, it's fun and all, but since romance isn't really a part of the show (save for a few stray instances, like lilac summer social, something fishy, the episodes with young david and jasper if you'd ask me) it just feels a bit ooc to see. That's not necessarily bad! I love shipping art too, but nothing hits the same as works where that isn't the focus. Like the Goodcare fields fic that needs to be finished, for example! It carries an energy that the show does and I feel like one of the contributing factors is the lack of fanon ships being thrown into the mix.

I think that when I start writing fics again, I'll probably not have them involve relationships because don't get me wrong, Gwenvid and Masha and the other popular ships are great and all, but the show is far from about romance. Though this is kinda true for any fandom and could be me being on the aro spectrum talking.

The show to me is largely about the summer. The core relationships you make in childhood, summer friends who become lifelong friends, learning that neither an overly oprimistic world view nor a pessimistic one is exactly the right or wrong worldview to have.

I love all camp camp content, I think I just really miss the spirit of the source material. It's about relationships, just largely not romantic ones.

the long version is that most teams - especially the big-name social media heavy ones (sauber and haas excluded, sauber has one person managing the soc med, and haas i don't really follow) - have done this at some point, i think alpine invoked yukierre. so far, ferrari has used C2 to refer to charles and carlos, but so many people on insta are breaching containment by using charlos. i think carlando has been referenced a few times by various social media, but i could be wrong and i'm not sifting through instagram's posts

i'm not exactly sure where this shift came from, as we don't necessarily know who the social media managers behind each account are (the only one i know by name is josh, who was formerly with alphatauri but then moved to ferrari in 2023, he's part of the reason why yuki and pierre have so much content because he knows how to draw out their personalities. i know he's having fun with charles and carlos lol), so i can't really determine if they're invoking these names to specifically get engagement from the fandom (as in, the people who do partake in rpf shipping) or if they just think it's a quick shorthand for referring to the drivers.

regardless, it gets clicks, it gets likes, and that's what matters to the social media accounts. i really think that the fandom on twitter and instagram really need to learn rpf fandom etiquette, because there is a SPECIFIC etiquette fans need to follow, which is to not show the people involved the content the fandom is making. you can show them your gen fanart, but for the love of everything, do not send them fanfics or the shippy art, because that will fuck with relationships.

i know that on tumblr, it's rule of the wild in that if you're a celebrity on tumblr, you should probably blacklist your own name and not interact with anyone engaging in anything related to you. twitter and instagram are harder because both platforms require/prefer users to put their names and faces out on there, so it leads to fans being a lot closer in proximity to the actual people. i don't know how old every fan is, but i feel like a lot of them don't know rpf etiquette or even internet safety, and thus, these containment breaches happen. i just hope for the sanity of everyone involved, that celebrities are kept far away from the knowledge that rpf exists/rpf content, because it's going to be a very dicey situation that leaves no one smelling like a rose

but really, i need every single person involved in sports fandoms to see this post. that's the rule we MUST abide by, so that for everyone's collective sanity, no one gets hurt.

What’s your opinion on kaishin? Do u like their dynamics together? or do u like both characters separately? Also, do you find it weird that some ppl ship them romantically?

I’ve thought about KaiShin a little. V:

I don’t really find it weird that people ship them romantically. If two characters interact with each other and have any sort of dynamic (or sometimes even just a regular chat), they will get shipped in some way. And the law vs criminal dynamic is one that’s pretty popular already, they’re the same age (when it’s Shinichi and not Conan), and were already going to be compared at protagonists and lookalikes, so Kaito and Shinichi were already set up for a ship in some way.

As for what I like, it really depends on what the context is. I do enjoy both characters individually, but the dynamic is a reason I like movie 14. Granted, the ‘dynamic’ I like isn’t a ship thing, I just enjoy the interactions as a general thing, makes the characters and how they’re dealing with the situation fun. They have a nice and easy to grasp attitude towards each other that’s entertaining for me to see. 

Now if what you were asking was whether I prefer shipping them or just see them as two people who sometimes interact with each other, then I’m kinda neutral. With this series, I approve of a lot of ships, both canon and fanon, even if I could criticize any of them for various reasons. It’s along the same lines as liking a show, but can point out any flaw it has in a heartbeat. I don’t think I actively ship anything now, though. Passive shipper for a lot, including KaiShin, it’s mostly just that I think it looks nice when I see good content for it without going out of my way to want to provide and find all content for it.

I’ve debated writing this for a while, because who wants to read my inane thoughts on the matter? What are my opinions really worth in the grand scheme of things? I’m not so self important to think this will be of any value. But, I’m an extroverted thinker, so this might help my brain finally shut up, and that’s worth something to me. 

The hypocrisy surrounding Jikook. 

Are they a couple? Maybe. I legitimately don’t know. I don’t default into thinking they’re straight. I don’t default into thinking they’re gay. Every member is a blob, sexually, until they define themselves one way or another. Because honestly, I don’t care. That’s between them and their potential paramours. There’s nothing wrong with either option, heck there’s nothing wrong with both or none. Live a life, man... good luck! 

And I have no problems with shipping, to the extent it is done in a sane way and fans do not impose their ships onto the actual people. What I mean is, if you think Tae and JK look good together and you want to read stories or draw art of them as a couple and you want to explore their dynamic, you do you. However, it crosses a line when fans get mad when real people or real situations do not adhere to their fantasy. When they contradict footage and quotes and the feelings of those involved because it doesn’t fit into their little shipping box, that’s when it’s a problem. Be realistic. Have distinct lines between fantasy and reality, between what you might like and what is actually happening. 

It is this reason, that I think shipping generally innocuous and indicative of the shipper more than the celebrity, that I also don’t think the celebrities in question need to be defended against shipping. Because  if it is distinctly fantasy, then unless they express an opinion on the matter, most celebrities don’t really seem to know about it or care. It’s harmless. That defense, those hackles raised, again say more about the fans than the celebrities. When Xiao Zhan’s (XZ) fans got pissed off that some fanfic writer was portraying him as trans, XZ never weighed in on it. It wasn’t until those fans, in DEFENSE of their idol reported the writer and those of their ilk to the censors in China and got AO3 blocked on Chinese internet, that’s when XZ stepped in. And not to thank his fans for defending him, but to apologize to all the innocent Chinese fanfic writers who lost their work and their sanctuary because a handful of his fans had gotten the site banned. Again, the problem here was fans imposing their own beliefs on the celebrity, in this case thinking he would be upset by this and thus needed to be defended. They ended up causing more harm than good.

So the crux of this, what’s been kicking about in my brain, was the need for the fandom to ��defend” JK from “shippers” the day after “hickey gate” and why these things only ever seem to focus on Jikook moments.

First off, “hickey gate” stemmed from footage that was a full, editorial choice to be shared on the part of Hybe and BTS. It was behind the scenes, closed set, pandemic lockdown footage edited together and released as official content, not some concert fancam or paparazzo on the street catching a private moment. They chose to leave in both Jimin and Jungkook on TWO occasions addressing the bruise/bite/hickey on JK’s neck, with the source being attributed to Jimin both times. Thus, people discussing this after the fact is a natural biproduct of it being shared. Is it even “shipping” when we are given the footage and the explanation? Is it not just a strange fact? This isn’t someone superimposing a fantasy onto them. This is the boys flat out saying Jimin bit JK and left a mark on his neck. I get debate over whether it was a bite or a hickey might lend itself more to “shipping”, with the latter being more shippy, but seriously, just looking at it would make anyone to question whether the BRUISE was more a hickey than a bite mark. What it says about the nature of their relationship is a whole other animal, but the fact is, it happened. And people are going to have THOUGHTS and FEELINGS about this. And that’s obviously something Hybe/BTS were ok with to share it in the first place (seriously, we would have never known, we DIDN’T even have a whiff of this until they put the whole thing on the DVD, so they were obviously OK with this leading to speculation, because how can a member saying they BIT another on the neck not?). All the content we are given of the boys snuggling, biting, ear sucking, tenderly addressing each other, etc.. is mostly a choice. And that choice will lead to questions and debates, and they’re obviously ok with it. It’s not wrong for people to be like, “huh” when they do questionable things and choose to give us said content about the questionable things. 

But, there always seems to be this backlash when it’s Jikook. We have to “defend” JK, a fully grown man, who brought up the bite himself on camera from people talking about the bite as he himself said it was given to him. No backlash to people saying Jimin claimed doing it to cover up JK’s secret girlfriend (uhhh, when homosexuality is a no-go in SK, that seems a weird choice, but sure, ok.... like just cut it from the footage and slap some make up on like they do during the concert, since none of us noticed it then, and move on if you want to cover it up). But that’s allowed supposition despite having NO EVIDENCE to support it. And what we are TOLD actually happened is not ok and “shipping”?!? 

Worse, when days later some innocuous “TAE AND JK WERE STANDING NEXT TO EACH OTHER OMG! THEY’RE IN LOVE” trends, where is the “save JK from shipping” rhetoric? That is CLEARLY shipping. I’m not saying Jikook shippers don’t do this, too, they do. And I laugh and shake my head at every little thing being dissected and offered as “proof”, but there always seems to be this backlash when it’s Jikook. ESPECIALLY when it’s undeniably... different. Neck biting. Ear sucking. “with JK at 4 a.m.” when they found out Dynamite got number one. Golden Closet Tokyo. These things are facts. Again, they’re... weird facts that do lead me to raise an eyebrow a lot, but they are facts and they were shared by the members as facts. I don’t think it’s necessarily shipping to think weird facts are weird and may lead to conclusions that don’t adhere to the THEY ARE ALL INHERENTLY STRAIGHT manifesto so many fans seem to have (and I think “straight until proven otherwise” is a shitty perspective anyone could have in any walk of life and again speaks to inherent or unconscious heteronormative perceptions in society - hurray -_-). 

But even the dumb shippy stuff that ALL other combos have, is always an ISSUE when done by Jikook. Their bond or interactions are downplayed by major accounts. They’re an outlier. Some shippers even try to make it out like they hate each other (whaaa? HOW?!?!).  Any odd interaction that really is just odd is deemed “shipping” and cast off into the no-no void, where it’s WRONG if you side-eye it. And I know WHY. I know it’s because they ARE different and they do do stuff people just don’t want to look too closely at because it makes them uncomfortable, so it’s easier to just deem it all “other” and “crazy supposition” and get rid of it. But it’s frustrating when it’s legit and it’s stuff they’re choosing to show and give us. It’s frustrating to be told you’re not allowed to go “huh, weird” because now you’re just a crazy shipper. 

And again, I’m NOT saying Jimin and JK are in a relationship, because again, IDK, but I’m also not saying they're NOT either. I’m going to keep side eyeing the fuck out of some of the stuff they do and just enjoy that they are 100% each other’s person in the interim. And if that makes me a crazy shipper, then I guess that’s what I am.

hello! this is very very niche, but a brosis pair i've always been fascinated by (though not necessarily in a shippy way tbh) are kai and sakura from the manga sakura hime kaden (direct translation would be the legends of princess sakura) by tanemura arina. they are prince and princess in old japan and also moon people (which they don't know for a long time), with sakura, the younger one, being engaged to prince aoba since she was a little child. they're always all alone, however, their parents having died when they were very small, so they've only had each other for a long time - which caused sakura to be canonically in love with him when she was a kid, and she talks about him as her first love in the manga. kai "dies" before the events of the manga, but in reality, his death is orchestrated by the emperor to make sakura more lonely and as such more prone to falling in love with the prince she's engaged to once she'll finally meet him. due to this betrayal, kai turns against the humans and embraces his nature as a moon person, changing his name to enju (though sakura keeps calling him kai once they reunite), and he's seemingly the main villain of the manga, trying to get sakura (who is now actually in love with prince aoba) to join his side and abandon the humans. it is stated that her love for him was unrequited as he sees her just as a sister, not as a woman, but to be honest, these lines are very blurred - he's very obsessed with her post becoming enju, very possessive and jealous, and he also made himself a lover out of a soul in a gemstone, giving her a body and face that looks canonically just like sakura (it's a big theme throughout the manga, that rurijo looks just like sakura, and they're two sides of the same coin - with one of them being enju's sister and the other one being his lover, while rurijo always talks about how much more enju loves sakura, and that she wants to be sakura for real to be able to get enju's true love). so yeah, they're not really "canon" and also don't end up together, but she had canonical feelings for him at some point, and he's literally fucking a girl he created to look just like her. enju and sakura can be seen together on the cover art of volume 4 of the manga! the art is gorgeous, and it's one of my favorite manga series.

Technically five, because I’m not counting Avengers and MCU as two different fandoms hahaha. But they are: Doctor Who (2005), MCU, Stargate Universe, The Greatest Showman, and X-Men (comics) - the latter, though, wasn’t really for that fandom, because I was writing a TGS X-Men au hahaa

4. Top 5 fics by kudos?

Liminality , with 195 kudos - I am not surprised about this one, since it’s probably the most ‘readable’ of my fics, being a oneshot, not shippy, and also not being stupidly long haha!

Renegades in the Ring , with 144 kudos - I didn’t realise how much kudos this one got? I guess it helped that the fandom was very active when I first posted this. Alas, if only I had finished this one...I have a lot of nostalgia for the idea, but I don’t think I’ll ever return to it, simply because it would take about as much effort as campervan au is taking me right now. 

i need a place to hide (before the storm begins) , with 125 kudos - which I am genuinely SO happy about because ahh! This is my big project and to know that 125 people said ‘yes this is good’ is just...really really nice?? Especially when it’s such a niche, specific au.

Tropospheric Disturbance , with 125 kudos - honestly, I’m surprised this one has as many kudos as it does, since I regularly forget I even wrote it hah! It’s a weird one, because it’s not actually in my usual writing style, but I am very proud of it!

and they did live by watchfires , with 109 kudos - and I’m really really happy to see this one here, because I think this is probably the favourite thing of my own that I’ve written. 

5. Do you respond to comments? Why/why not?

YES absolutely!! I love comments so much, and I really love to ramble about my stories because I almost always have a LOT of thoughts hahaha

6. A fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I mean, it’s probably a toss up between i need a place to hide (because I ended it on that twist/cliffhanger), Retrograde (which is another cliffhanger ending, leaving all the characters in a REALLY BAD situation), or maybe the new problem kid, you’ll taste all the salt in my lungs, because, uh, it basically ends with the Doctor saying ‘the person I was before this moment is dead’ HAHAHA. But, to be honest, I don’t know if I would call any of those endings VERY angsty? They’re more like ‘AHHH WHAT HAPPENS NEXT’ endings rather than angst. I don’t tend to write angsty endings because I love angst but I always prefer to end it on a hopeful note...otherwise it feels very unsatisfying for me to write, personally. 

7. Do you write crossovers?

Technically? I mean, I see Renegades as an au more than a crossover, because it’s merely set in the same universe as the X-Men comics, and the only crossover element is Nathaniel Essex being in it...and I never even wrote those scenes hahaha

8. Ever received hate on a fic?

Nah, people are wonderful!

9. Do you write smut?

Since I’m sex-repulsed, this is a hard no HAHA

Me and @sunshinedaysforever have a collab-wip graveyard in our dms HAHA - but I am actually working on cowriting a fic with some other wonderful folks at the moment! I am. Supposed to have my part finished by the 6th. Hm. 

13. All time fav ship?

Right now, it’s thoschei/spydoc, but I wouldn’t necessarily say that’s my all time favourite, because my favourite changes a lot. I do have a HUGE amount of love for Clintasha and Rush/Young though! 

14. WIP you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Hmmmmm, there’s a few. I mean, at the moment, I feel like The Grandfather Paradox will NEVER get finished, but I like to think that if I’m still into Doctor Who enough when I finally finish campervan, I might take a crack at it? Grandfather Paradox is more solid atm than some of my other wips...(see: deathless, disarmed). Oh, I know which one I almost certainly won’t finish - this one I came up with waaay back before In the Wind, which is set between O55 and Telsa, which is about telepathy and not listening to warnings from the past, amongst other things.

15. Writing strengths?

I’ve been informed that I’m really good at character voices, and I also think that I’m quite good at expanding characters we see very little of and fleshing them out a lot more. I’ve had to do that a lot for campervan and it’s been really good fun!

16. Writing weaknesses?

I think I can get kinda tangled in the emotional plot lines sometimes, and it makes everything get convoluted and messy and hard to follow? Also I’m not very good at...taking a good metaphor and expanding it? If that makes sense. I’m also actually kind of terrible at subtle, clever foreshadowing because half the time I don’t know what’s happening HAHAHAHAH but sometimes I do manage it!! I’m trying to do it in campervan at the moment. Also I. Can’t write short things HAHA. My characters always think and talk a LOT and sometimes that’s good, sometimes not so much

17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

I’m actually doing it currently in part 5 of campervan, since Gabriela and Jamila both speak portuguese (and I’m learning portuguese!)

18. First fandom you wrote for?

On ao3? Stargate Universe. On the internet? The Avengers. Ever? Uh. I honestly don’t know. I made up ocs based on two unicorns in the aftercredits sequence of a My Little Pony VHS tape, does that count?

I mentioned it earlier, but I’m extremely proud of and emotionally attached to and they did live by watchfires
