Hi, I was rereading your Desmond is Marie Antoinette AU and was wondering how would his other ancestors react to him? Like if after A3 he and Ratonhnhaké:ton somehow got booted to the past (poe they encounter) how would other characters react to this young pretty woman being a fully fledged assassin, a really skilled one, and being treated as a full equal by her partner. How would Ratonhnhaké:ton react to people being weirded out by Desmond?
Desmond is reborn as Marie Antoninette and runs away to America idea that this is connected to
That depends on where in the past they got to.
For Altaïr, anywhere before or around AC1? Oh, definitely. People would be questioning the fact that she’s an Assassin. Some might even say that Ratonhnhaké:ton is ‘soiling’ the integrity of the Brotherhood for letting his woman act like one of them.
Altaïr himself would be surprised at first then he’d see how skilled Desmond is and would accept her as an Assassin.
After AC1 though, the Brotherhood would have seen the skills of Maria Thorpe so they’re not necessarily dismissive of Desmond. They’re still a bit awkward at the fact that Desmond is an Assassin but… well… Altaïr didn’t seemed to make a big deal out of it so they won’t as well.
Altaïr would absolutely figure out that they’re not from this time. He’d figure out that he’s connected to Desmond in some way because of Desmond’s own habits that are so similar to his own.
Ezio’s time though. No one would exactly bat an eye. At that point, there are already female Assassins (especially around Brotherhood with Ezio directly recruiting everyone, regardless of their gender).
Ezio would be curious about the two of them but he’d definitely notice something is up once he hears the significance of Desmond’s name from Minerva (or he already knows about Desmond’s name if this is set after AC2).
Hell, Desmond could be there when Minerva’s message is played and that would make his relationship with Desmond and Ratonhnhaké:ton different.
Some secrets would have to be discussed afterwards.
But overall?
Yeah, no one is going to bat an eye over Desmond in Ezio’s time other than the usual ‘oh, she’s really good’ and ‘who would win in a fight, Desmond or the mentore?’

So going back and forth about Leander I was wondering how quick you caught on to his scheming. Because I first I didn’t like him but I didn’t really have a reason why I just didn’t. But upon rereading his dialogue I was like hmmmmm
Oh man, I clicked like. maybe three lines in.
I have what my friend affectionately dubs an 'evil-dar'. I may not be able to tell you exactly why someone's fucked up, but if I see them and I immediately like them- they fucked up.
Probably, I think the earliest sign for me, was the emphasis on performing.
A pair of gilded boots stride across the tabletop. "Seriously, you dogs? Again?" Scattered laughter and cheers rise from the audience. I drag my eyes upwards... a well-dressed man stand on the table in front of me, his broad shoulder framed by the thick lapels of a trench coat. "This really is the last time, alright?" This time, when he speaks, the audience falls silent, as though bewitched by his magnetic presence or rich, low voice. But nothing is as captivating as his smile. He beams at the crowd around him, a performer on his makeshift stage. "Don't blink, or you'll miss it."
These were the bits the immediately drew me in, the bolded bits. And it's the bolded, italicized bits that immediately made me go 'he's hiding something, and it's horrific, and I want to know more.'
Gilded boots in a downtown pub; carefully designed, likely expensive in taste, and yet he's in the slums- the place where people pull a face when you mention going there. It doesn't say cheaply gilded, or with a fancy design- it's just gilded. It's intentionally not giving us much, but telling us something important- this is a man who is conscious of his appearance. Of how he looks, how he presents, right down to the design on his boot. And he cares enough to throw money at it. If it was just from his upbringing, he wouldn't maintain them, wouldn't still have them today. We don't have a word describing how put together the boots are, how well maintained, but we do immediately get told that he's a performer. It's highly likely that they are chosen and maintained intentionally.
"This really is the last time, alright?" is tasty tasty to me. How will this be inflected, when voiced properly? Is this an establishment of boundaries, from a man placating his pack of puppies? A certain firmness there, that indicates that his word is law here; he's not joking this time? Or is it a man caving to the pleads of his people, throwing them another bone to keep them satisfied in between working on other schemes? Either way, this is a man who has power and is prone to indulging people; and indulging them in a way that indicates he is above them. Whether intentionally or not, consciously or not, this is the stance it takes- to me, at least.
The audience is bewitched by him, the mage. His charisma is high, he's generally liked and adored, and that means he's a man who can get away with a lot of shit. He can work a crowd, appeal to masses and individuals as one, and makes them all feel special- whether they're all together or by themselves. This gets emphasized a lot later, too, and in a lot of his profiles and lil details, but this is when I knew that. He knows how to work a person, and that usually comes from trauma or social ambition, and either way- I'm interested and hungry.
The fact that they outright state he's "a performer on his makeshift stage" makes me so ravenous alksjgldsjgl. The table is his stage, the pub is his stage, heck! The whole town is his stage and he's performing nonstop the entire time we interact with him. Fake or real, undecided- but performing nonetheless. A performance doesn't have to be dishonest, but it is intentional. And intentional means that there's a goal to be achieved- grand or otherwise.
And then there's the warning.
Three lines in (damn, I was right- literally three lines of dialogue from him).
"Don't blink, or you'll miss it."
Such an enticing statement, always. It's so easy to miss, his flashes of soul under the performance. The moment in the pub, later, when he's content to leave the chaos to reign until the player turns to him for help (and then he sighs, like he didn't want to, wasn't planning to, but who was he to let down a new audience member?). The moment of flat on his face, when you refuse his hand, and he grabs you anyway, determined to pull you into his web, into his puppet show. You could be a valuable piece- a fresh pawn off the woodcarver's table, and unblemished, yet, by the rest of the city. The moment when he looses his composure slightly, unaware to what extent Kuras had seen you during your examination.
There's so much there that sold him to me immediately as a favourite, as a schemer, as someone to watch out for because they've always got a knife three inches from your back, and that is super attractive, but man.
Yea, three lines of dialogue in, and I knew.
As my friend said, I have an 'evil-dar'. asdlkjlgsjg if I like the character, she knows 9/10 times, they're definitely fucked up in some way aslkjdklgsdg
#also sorry this took so long damn#i have. so many thoughts but ye#i clicked Super Fast but that is a Skill of mine lmao#personal#touchstarved#i was playing the unnamed for my first playthrough too#i can be fairly oblivious to a lot of things but also not this#not peoples intentions if they could potentially harm me#tis the trauma in me speaking up#but it also means i can play oblivious (which i normally do) because well#people tell you more if they think you're stupid and not looking#and that sits right with me#not necessarily integral to figuring out how i figured him out but#may help#people let down their guard if they think your stupid#and tell you more without words than youll ever notice if they think you're looking

One of my favourite things about Young Royals and its characters is how much it romanticizes being utterly ordinary.
Stories often focus on characters who are exceptionally good at something or who are more ambitious than the average person. Even in the teen shows I’ve watched, these young characters always seemed to have their dream career and dream university figured out at a young age and I could never relate to that because I had none of those things figured out as a teen. It always felt like pushing this narrative that teenagers need to have their entire lives figured out before their brains are even fully developed.
None of the characters in YR seem particularly ambitious and in fact, the main character’s journey is a story of anti-ambition. When he is introduced to Simon, it is precisely Simon’s ordinariness that draws Wille to him. Sure, Simon is a very talented singer, but it’s never indicated within the series that he has dreams of being a pop star. It’s just something he likes to do. Simon is motivated by very ordinary things - he wants to do well in school so he can have better opportunities for himself, he wants to take care of his family, he wants to hang out with his friends and play video games. He’s a dedicated student but not necessarily valedictorian. It’s not his ambition that Wille is drawn to but his integrity and kindness and warmth.
Wille had a chance to be extraordinary - to be Sweden’s first gay king - but being extraordinary has never been Wille’s ambition. Wille’s ultimate goal and dream within the series’ narrative is to be free to make his own decisions and live his life as he pleases. He just wants to kiss his boyfriend and get drunk at parties and live his life one day at a time instead of spending every moment of his life preparing for an inevitable future he doesn’t want. In the end Wille is extraordinary not for his ambition, but for his bravery to reject the expectations thrust upon him and throw himself into the unknown and see where it takes him. Wille had a whole future in front of him as crown prince and future king - he’d never have to work a day in his life and would have people advising his every move - and he rejects that. This lack of ambition is not portrayed as a moral failure, but a necessary step in Wille’s journey to personal self-discovery and fulfillment of his own desires. His desire right now is simple - be free with Simon, but that doesn’t mean his dreams end here forever. He deserves peace and tranquility after all the trauma he’s been through without having to worry about where or who he’s gonna be in a few years. He deserves time to just exist.
None of the characters know where they’re going when they drive away at the end. We as the audience don’t know what careers if any these characters will find themselves in, but that’s also not important to this story. The series is saying you don’t have to have everything figured out when you’re 17 and you don’t have to do something just because your parents think they know what’s best for you and even if you don’t know exactly what you want to do, that doesn’t mean you don’t have the agency to know what you don’t want.
It’s not a moral failing to want the simple things in life or to be ordinary, and I love that Young Royals celebrates that. It shows the beauty in simple moments that feel revolutionary to a person - touching the person you love, forgiving someone and making amends after a hardship, whooping with your friends in a car as you drive into the summer and celebrates them. Ultimately these are the moments that make life worth living.

Strawberry ice-cream | the summer in which Luke Castellan fell in love *ੈ♡⸝
In May, when you first arrived at camp, it was obvious to everyone that you didn’t like the place at all. Usually, campers would finally find bit of peace in that lost spot, far from the normal life and the judging mortals. But that wasn’t the case for you, you didn’t like living there.
The only “joy” you had, was the guy who you were assigned to. Luke Castellan, the counsoler of the Hermes’s cabin. The problem was, that he wasn’t a joy to be around at all, or at least that’s what people said. He wasn’t like that with you- okay, maybe at first he was ruder and more distant, but you brushed it off as shyness.
Chris, another guy from the Hermes’s cabin, explained he didn’t used to be like until he went off to some sort of mysterious quest you weren’t allowed to know anything about. But nonetheless, other than being a bit quiet, he wasn’t mean or bad to you at all, so you brushed Chris’s words off as well.
Quick weeks went by and it was already June, and all you did was follow Luke Castellan around. All of the other counsolers tried their best to integrate you inside of the camp’s community, but without much results. It’s just seems as you couldn’t enjoy anyone’s company.
You were quick to get sad, and it took a lot to even get you to open your mouth. It wasn’t that you were wary, just irreparably miserable.
Once again, the only light you had, was Luke. He was the only one who seemed to get you, and eventually everyone just gave up on you, leaving the burden to the guy. after all, this was the first time he took on a new camper ever since the quest.
You didn’t necessarily despised the camp, or the activities, Luke figured, but you just couldn’t bring yourself to like them either. Luke would often see you around camp, pouty, and lost in thoughts. Even when you had a training session with him, you still sighed and huffed everytime you got disarmed. Luke knew not to go hard on you, to be gentler than he normally would, yet it didn’t seem to help your case.
You liked lacy tops, and pearly white satin. Even while being in the Aphrodite’s cabin, it still seemed like you couldn’t fit in. You always looked helpless.
He tried his best to help you out, and his (only) friend would often tease him about how close the two of you were, the way you would follow him around like a lost puppy, and refuse to get a hand by anyone else.
Whenever Luke couldn’t be with you— to train you or to force you to participate in the camp’s activities— you would always find ways to disappear, so that Clarisse (another camp counsoler) couldn’t get you. You would disappear in thin air, and Luke would then have to come and find you in the most unthinkable places.
And for some reason, when he was able to find you— you were always snacking on a pink creamed cone; your signature strawberry ice cream, the one that matched your shiny lipgloss.
<<y/n- they’re looking for you. Cmon, let’s get out>>
<<but I don’t want to>>
And sometimes, he would let you stay hidden. Sitting beside you without letting a word out. He figured you liked the silence. And he did too.
Also, those were the only times in which you look the little bit happier; when you could sneak away and retire in a peaceful snack time. And he liked to see you happy, so he’d just go back to the others (after a good while tho) and tell them he couldn’t find you.
But by July, his friend noticed his weird acts. And Luke couldn’t hear the end of his big mouth.
<<you need to court her>> or <<you like her so much it’s embarrassing>> or even <<if you don’t make her understand your feelings, someone else will steal her from you>>
And he was right, but Luke thought you were just way too sweet for him.
So sweet you could give cavities. While he was all broody and moody. Mad and slightly rude to people who didn’t know him before the infamous quest.
Not to mention the way you we’re basically the only person he was nice to, and he personally thought that was enough of a give away; so much of a give away that he often would slap himself at his own awkwardness. but Chris reminded him that you didn’t even know how he acted with other people, since he tried so hard to be nice to you and in front of you. So how could you possibly know?
Luke would simply just shrug his shoulders every time, because he just couldn’t bring himself to get any closer. Maybe because he was scared, or maybe because he didn’t think he was worthy of it.
Nonetheless, you were completely unaware, because if you knew about the boy’s feeling, you definitely wouldn’t want to spend anymore time with him, but that definitely wasn’t the case, since you always begged for him to be with you, to hang with you and to spend time together.
He would get all red and giddy whenever you looked up to him with your doe eyes, asking him to spend more time with you. Sometimes he would find excuses not to, or other times he would simply agree, and stay silent for most of the time, scared to say something wrong and ruin everything. But you liked it anyways; actually, you loved to talk and loved even more to he listened.
You would spend hours talking to Luke about your newly bought cowboy boots, or whatever vintage find you got from the thrift store in the nearest town. You liked to drink Coca Cola, he learned, and your second favorite sweet treat after strawberry ice-cream were candies, the sugared ones.
You also loved road trips and country songs.
He learned all of these things in silence, simply nodding as you chatted with yourself.
He did find himself repeating all those information to Chris, later in the days when the camp was silent and the two friends could share a quieter moment.
Chris gave up on him at one point, letting his girlfriend’s best friend, Silena from the Aphrodite’s cabin, handle the situation.
But not even Silena seemed to be able to talk to you. You only had eyes (and words) to spar for Luke. Almost refusing anyone’s else company.
Silena clearly told Chris and Clarisse that there wasn’t much she could do. You seemed head over heels for him already. He just needed to understand that.
But Luke was blinded by his insecurities, and by his lack of self-esteem.
Even tho, his ego skyrocket the one time in which you drunkly traced his scar, smiling up like an idiot, and muttering a “you’re so pretty” that only him and the near forest nymph could hear.
But that was a story Luke kept to himself.
Chris eventually figured his friend would have to do something at one point, specifically by the end of summer.
And indeed, by August, Luke couldn’t even sleep anymore at the thought of you leaving camp. He wouldn’t have been able to see you for almost 8 months! That was way too much time.
Everyone noticed the change in his manners, the way he was always so nervous and on the edge of a panic, even you.
<<whats wrong Luke?>>
<<nothing to worry about, just stupid thoughts>>
You light up at his crooked and shy smile. If only you knew.
A week or two before the last day of camp, Chris threatened to push him off of a cliff if he didn’t ask you to stay, but for Luke asking you if you even considered staying was already too much, let alone asking you to stay. And for what even? Luke already knew how much you hated camp; you hated the games and the sparring and the swords and the sweat-
<<im not going home for winter>>
He froze on the spot. You couldn’t just drop such news without warning, how could you do that? Almost giving him and heart attack.
<<but you- you don’t like here>> he said, shuttering
<<I don’t like it at home either.>>
<<at least I have you here>>
Luke that day reevaluated the possibility of setting an alter for his dad in his bunk bed, or for any other god who watched over him, because that was definitely a miracle. Someone all the way up in the sky must have had mercy on him and his unfortunate life.
That day, probably on the 28th of August, Luke Castellan came back in the Hermes’s cabin almost at midnight, stumbling around on his own feet on the way to his bed, involuntarily waking up Chris, who cursed him out just for then to stop and stare at his dumbfounded face.
<<what happened?>>
<<she’s staying>> he smiled, almost scaring his still half asleep friend.
<<…>>
<<man, fuck off>> Chris Rodriguez officially had had enough at that point, but still smiled back to his friend as he laid down in his own bed.

Helloo !! ^^ Its me again ahaha 🙈
Feeling you with the number of RQs ! (': i have a lot of unfinished ones too, and I FEEL SO JORRIVLE FOR SENDING ONE in knowing that💔💔😭😭😭😭😭😭, but this has been in the forefront of my mind 😵💫. Please don't feel pressured to respond! 🫣 I won't blame you if you'd rather not to ☺️🙌//
...
Yandere Outlaw, having abducted reader, not at all having had anticipated the strength of their connections.
While reader isn't necessarily strong themselves, they have a strong family, a line of uncles and brothers that are feared across the West for their brutality, their violence, and most notably, their loyalty. This is especially jarring given that reader is the youngest in the family, so of course they would be overprotective over them, as weren't they just the baby of the family, their sweet lil pumpkin?
It's why they are second only to Outlaw himself in terms of criminality, notorious instead, however for how they are willing to kill for blood feud, and to wreak havoc in a bid to avenge anyone that crossed the path of their family member(s).
Now picture this: having heard of reader's abduction, to describe their reaction as fury, rage, even wrath, would all be an understatement. They would be getting together, coordinating a plan, and intending to shoot the damn bastard dead, as scum like him should pay for messing with the wrooong criminals.
Now this brings me to my question: what would Outlaw's reaction be to waking up one day to see not a trace of their darling, their hostage rescued by their cowboy brothers and uncles? (Or something more creative than this,, ^^"" ", i doubt that theyd leave him with lungs and eyes, let alone ALIVE after locating his whereabouts and saving their sweet lil pumpkin, thw baby of the family. My imagination can only take me so far an idk 😓💔)
Would Outlaw go after each individual member of the family down, on a furious witch-hunt in a bid to rescue their darling? After all, Outlaw has been on countless raids riding solo with nothing aside from a horse and his trusty shotgun, became infamous for being the West's deadliest gunslinger, has eliminated the wealthiest businessmen and robbed them of all their money, and made a career out of being a criminal.
Or would he accept defeat? This is clearly not a family to mess with, and it was a miracle that they hadn't put his beheaded head on a stake and set it on fire, condemnimg his corpse. He'd have to be a fool to risk this, wouldn't he? Was reader, his darling, really worth that risk?
Would love to hear your thoughts ! ☺️💞
ALSO SORRU FOE THE REALLY LONG ASKS I FEEL SO BAD BC I GDT CARRIED AWAY JDJSJAJAJASSS 😭😭🙏 PLS FORGIVR ME AAAAAAARRHEHSS
My sweet Anon, we simply must find a name for you ! Your ideas cannot go without an identity to which we can attribute their creation ^^. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful mind with us <3 !
♡ This occurrence is very in-character for the Outlaw to encounter; albeit never on such an intimate level.
♡ He’s made enemies out of every criminal in the West – namely for resigning them to a life imprisoned while making off with his loot, gifting them a sentence he’d have served himself were he not so adept at the skill of escapism. In the early days when he first started working with other criminals, at least; he’d never make such a mistake now.
♡ You see, the Outlaw is the very definition of work smarter, not harder. So while he may seem as if he’s given up his pursual of you by hanging back, letting you go back to your family and re-integrate with civilised life, he’s tracking you. Watching you. Anticipating your every move.
♡ He’ll find you – eventually – but he won’t swoop in to retrieve you at the first opportunity; he knows that this will simply incur another rescue effort and his imminent execution.
♡ He’ll start to pick off the male authority figures in your family, starting with the weakest (however large and imposing they may be).
♡ He knows that, without the leader, the pack will scatter, meaning that there will still be some of your family he missed during his executions – members who could still come looking for you upon discovering your kidnapping (again).
♡ Sure, picking off the weakest ones will put the strongest on-edge, but it keeps them packed together – around you – right where he wants them.
♡ The Outlaw knows of the Reader’s family’s reputation. He’s even met them during the occasional heist; opportunists by trade in their willingness to jump upon the corpse of the Outlaw’s victories as soon as his back is turned. But he also knows none are as keen and accurate a marksman as he, and he uses this to his advantage.
♡ While the Outlaw specialises in short-range firearms, he is more than capable with long-distance ones, too. And, once he lures your protectors away from you, he’ll ensure their execution is swift and unforeseen. He’ll perch atop a sturdy tree branch and steady himself, bringing the head of whoever fell for his diversion into the sights of a Whitworth he dusted off and brought from home.
♡ The minute he knows you’re all alone – that your uncles and brothers and cousins are too busy painting the town red with their bodies to stow you away – is when he’ll swoop in, plucking you out of bed and slinging you over his shoulder as he had all those months ago during your first meeting, winding you as he throws you atop his horse and bolting off into the horizon.
♡ So, to put it simply, Anon: yes. To the Outlaw, you are absolutely worth the effort.

I'm not into comics that much but why do Batman and Superman beef with each other? Like if you two don't kiss each other right now instead of fighting-
Like fuck beating the other to a pulp, just fuck each other already😑
Hi!
It really depends on what media you're following. They don't actually hate each other except in specific works. They're best friends, colleagues and at the very least, consider each other family. Even with the variety of universes in comics, Batman and Superman hating each other is very rare and in specific circumstances with reasons behind it.
Long story short: they don't (beef). They disagree and argue, sure. They're rivals, but in a manner that conveys the utmost respect for one another. Their friendship can turn toxic, too, but it's never out of hate.
Yes, there is initial friction when they start working together. Both come with a different set of values and methods to uphold justice, which is what makes their friendship so compelling. After everything, even when they don't see eye to eye, they support one another and they are there for one another. They show deep compassion and understanding for one another, even without necessarily speaking. Batman is highly observant, and Superman is endlessly compassionate.
I'm too tired to find the examples right now, but a couple of bullet points:
Batman is Superman's hero - Superman has unwavering faith in Batman even if his plans are batshit crazy. I can't find the panels rn, but there was even an arc where Batman had a plan that involved Clark slowly killing himself for a 1% chance (or something ridic like that) of saving the universe. It was horrible, but Clark trusted him no matter what.
When Bruce got engaged with Selina, there was an entire sidestory where they went on a double date with Clark and Lois, and both men went into great depth of why they admire one another and how important they are to each other. The respect between them is immeasurable.
Batman's first Robin (Dick Grayson) was a huge Superman fan, and Superman was an important part of his life. To the point that once he stopped being Robin and became Nightwing, his hero name 'Nightwing' actually comes from a Kryptonian story Superman told him.
Both Superman and Batman's respective families are closely knit, each 'bat' has a 'super' that is associated with them, either on a team with them or as friends. If they hated each other, I don't think their families would be this close-knit.
Superman knows the sound of Bruce's heartbeat and listens for it often.
Batman has a voice tone, or grunts, that is reserved for Clark only. Fun fact, the JL unanimously agrees that Clark is the best at doing the Batman voice.
They founded the Justice League together, along with Wonder Woman and other team variations (usually with the Flash and the Green Lantern).
Even in AUs where they hate each other, or they've grown apart, they still respect one another.
They have multiple comic runs as a duo/partners: World's Finest and Superman/Batman.
In one of the runs above, Superman's cousin crashes to earth and both Batman and Superman become parental figures and argue about raising her until Wonder Woman intervenes. Again, they disagree, but it was more on execution of integrating Kara onto earth.
Anyway, the idea that these heroes hate each other isn't really, at least in my experience with other comic fans, common? Mass media (such as films and video games) has a weird attachment to turning Superman into a villain to fight the allegations that he's boring, but he's actually a compelling character if you (general you, me @ the WB execs.) can get past the weird power-obsession and enjoy characters for their depth.
That said, while I do ship superbats, I have a deep appreciation for the women in their lives, especially Selina (who is able to recognize her feelings for Bruce and how they may not be good for one another) and Lois (who is such a fierce character on her own). They add so much to Batman and Superman respectively, so I whenever I talk about Superman and Batman, I make sure to mention this too.
It's important to me, especially in this ship to emphasize that it's not just about kissing the pain away, but understanding the depth and the history that comes with this relationship. Also, not erasing women for the sake of the ship, too.
Final disclaimer: comics have so many different versions, timelines and resets that someone can easily swoop in and prove me wrong, so please take everything above as my way of enjoying the comics.
If I have the energy, I will try to find the panels, but I am so tired 😭
#anyway i love superman and i love this friendship#my asks#superman#batman#clark kent#bruce wayne#superbats#superbat

One Piece Film: Red and What It Meant for Usopp
Part 2 (TL;DR)
(beware spoilers!!!) | Part 1
If there’s one fandom consensus that I wholeheartedly agree with, it’s regarding Usopp’s screen time in the One Piece movies. He’s a scene-stealer and always manages to do something cool or worthwhile. If you’ve watched the movies, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
The movie I want to focus on is "One Piece Film: Red." This is the movie where Usopp meets his dad amid battle, and they do that iconic Observation Haki thing together. It’s a scene I rewatch time and time again.
"One Piece Film: Red" is many things: fun, ambitious, messy, high-budget, and a wild ride. Uta’s character design was rad, and the overall vibe with the other characters was well-executed.
But in hindsight, I noticed that the movie did a lot of foreshadowing, especially concerning the final battle where everyone tries to take down Tot Musica. We see most of the Straw Hats with power-ups and battle moves that weren’t canonically revealed until the Wano arc was nearing its end. Here are some of the foreshadowed power-ups:
Luffy: We get a preview of Luffy’s Gear 5.
Zoro: Demonstrates his mastery of Enma and Conqueror’s Haki.
Sanji: Uses advanced fire attacks, reminiscent of "Ifrit Jambe."
Nami: Shows her integration with Zeus, who finally gets to shine.
Robin: Showcases "Demonio Fleur," which she uses against Black Maria.
Brook: Utilizes more of his soul-related abilities, similar to his actions in Wano.
Koby: Even Koby had a bit of foreshadowing regarding his growth, hinting at his future role as a Garp-like figure to Luffy’s Roger.
Given all this, I wondered why Usopp didn’t receive a similar foreshadowing in the movie. The answer seems clear: Usopp’s “power-up” or significant moment is being saved for a much later, possibly even more impactful, event.
Many fans speculate (and yes, I’m using some “Oda said” hearsay as a source here) that the people behind the One Piece movies have insight into how the series will end or what the One Piece actually is. If Usopp didn’t showcase his Observation Haki in the Wano arc like he did in the movie, it likely means Oda is reserving his moment for a bigger payoff.
Consider the scene where Usopp and Yasopp perform incredible Observation Haki feats together—something we haven’t seen canonically. Not even Katakuri could maintain such a level of Observation Haki for long. There’s also the part where Katakuri tells Shanks he can see through his sister’s eyes, but only for a few seconds, to which Shanks replies, “You’re not the only one who has Observation Haki.” It then cuts to Yasopp saying, “Yeah. My son has it, but he’s too panicked.”
This interaction might hint at the unique potential of Usopp’s Haki. Perhaps Observation Haki users can link up with others they’re related to, or maybe it’s just a matter of Usopp honing his abilities. Either way, the fact that this was showcased in the movie but not yet in the manga suggests that Usopp’s true power is yet to be revealed.
Another point that stands out to me is the conversation between Katakuri and Shanks. Shanks’ words wouldn’t necessarily lead anyone to believe he was specifically talking about Yasopp. We didn't even know if Yasopp was aware of his son's abilities. Yes, the movies aren’t canonical, but still, it’s intriguing. When Yasopp mentions that his son has Observation Haki but is too nervous to use it effectively, it raises questions. How does Yasopp know this about Usopp, given they haven’t spoken in over a decade (if ever)?
What also stood out was the scene where Usopp is running and says, "If we only did something to Tot Musica’s legs, we could defeat him” (paraphrasing here). Usopp then stops, tells himself to stay calm, presses his fingers to his temples, and suddenly, he’s seeing through his dad’s eyes. Yasopp exclaims, "D*mn, son! You finally managed to link up with me?! Finally!” (Paraphrasing here). They then guide everyone on where to attack Tot Musica’s limbs, resulting in a spectacular team effort. Afterward, Shanks remarks, “Yasopp and his son work well together,” with a thoughtful and brooding expression.
None of this is canonical, but it makes me wonder about Usopp’s story in the main series. Does Shanks know the limits of Yasopp’s Observation Haki? Can Yasopp do things with it that even Shanks can’t? Given Yasopp’s role as a sniper, it makes sense. In real-world terms, snipers use spotters to help locate targets and assess their surroundings. Yasopp’s Observation Haki might serve a similar purpose, acting as a “spotter” for pinpoint accuracy.
Additionally, considering the non-canonical nature of the movies (last time I'll mention this), what if they have their own internal canon? In "One Piece: Red," what if Yasopp and Usopp had already talked before the events of the movie? Yasopp might have advised Usopp to train his Observation Haki and stay calm to tap into its full potential. That’s why, during the fight with Tot Musica, Usopp reminds himself to stay calm before successfully linking up with his father. Usopp’s smile when he realizes he’s connected with his dad, and Yasopp calling him a “knucklehead,” suggests a prior relationship and training.
This scenario could potentially work in the canon of the main story. It opens up possibilities for Usopp’s future development, hinting at a deeper mastery of Observation Haki and a stronger connection with his father.

Can I have advice on how to advocate for myself?
I am one of the alters in a system, I think I front the most often after the host, and I have met a mental health professional I feel very unsure of.
I have developed some skills to stop and analyze situations before I act thanks to a DBT skill course, but I have currently only come to the "stop" and "notice I feel bad" stage in this analysis. Anything else feels fuzzy and difficult.
On one hand, he seems like he is genuinely interested in our general wellbeing.
On the other hand, in my opinion, he seems to be pushing towards integration without having us on board with that. I understand this is not necessarily bad, and that I am in a strong emotion right now, but it is setting off all of my alarm bells. I feel like he isn't listening. I feel like he doesn't understand. I feel like he is pushing us to talk about ourselves in a very specific way as to go towards integration. Some things that I can't put into words makes me feel like we are like a project to him, a problem to be solved, and that disagreeing would make him personally upset. I recognize logically that I could be wrong, and that my impulse to change care provider is just that, an impulse guided by a strong emotion.
Okay, therapy speak nuance over. Cancelling therapy forever. In self defence...
Basically, how do I figure out if this is a real threat or a perceived threat and how I should act in order to get to a place that is actually safe?
(I'm tagging this with different related tags in order to find help, I'm not claiming all these tags apply to me)

Your dark crystal lu au has me giggling and kicking my feet. I would love to hear more about it!!! What inspired Hyrule to leave the caverns? Are the Zelda's the Madras?
>:D
I wrote a lot so it's going under a read more:
Wanderlust? Wanting to see more of the world? Seeking out a missing princess? A calling? A summons by Aughra? It could be a number of things! I'm still figuring out how I want to integrate the Zelda lore and timeline into that of The Dark Crystal.
What I do know is that I think I want Hyrule to be apprenticing under Aughra. Assistant turned apprentice. He really does do a lot of grunt work. Go here, fetch that, oil the entire orrery, crawl around in the Sog swamps for this one specific plant. But he has a strong connection to the song of Thra and an insatiable desire to listen and learn so Aughra teaches, and gives him tasks most would think crazy, and he stays. She keeps telling him asides about this snarky sharp tongued apprentice she had before who did a bunch of cool stuff but then ran off and is shirking his duties!!! and Hyrule's like, "gee I'd really like to meet this guy you keep comparing me to smh"
As for the Zeldas, yeah! They're the princess and Maudras. These are bound to change but at the moment, the trio Artemis, Dot, and Lullaby are Maudra to the Vapran clan together. Dusk of the Drenchen, Fable is Spriton with strong connections to the Castle of the Crystal, Dawn with the Grottans, and Aurora spends her time with both the Vapran and Grottan clans. I think the Sifa hierarchal structure would be a little looser. Most seek council from the Sifa elders and soothsayers. Tetra's out and about sailing with her crew. When she needs to speak for the clan that's when you know things have really gone to shit. Flora is a princess from an age past who now travels but spends a lot of time with the Vaprans. I'm realizing now I've forgotten Stone-in-the-Wood. I might place Lullaby, Dot, or Flora there instead. Still a wip!
Which leaves Sun. There's Thra, and then Mithra from the Power of the Dark Crystal comics. I don't want to add another clan because there being 7 is significant. But maaaaybe I could just be like, you know what, what if there were just gelfling living on floating islands who have been up there of since the Age of Innocence or Golden Age or whatever and forgotten. And they're not part of any clan necessarily.
What I really need to figure out is the cause for all the guys to be in one place. Do I want time travel and they're all from different eras and are jumping between them like they are in the LU comics and fanworks, do I want a singular timeline and they've all been living congruently the whole time with their own adventures, or do I want some kind of event to have happened which has caused their times to collapse into a singular and now they're all here in one place with their Zeldas? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ there's a lot of possibility! The Dark Crystal already deals a lot with ideas of threes and triangles so three timelines and three virtues for the triforce and there being nine heroes (divisible by three) already works suuuper well.
And then there's the villans. In loz there's Ganon but in TDC the Skeksis are already a formidable adversary. They have a thirst for power and everlasting life that's already pretty interesting. There's the darkening too, which could be a stand in for the idea of Ganon, just like an evil tainting the land instead of an actual person. Idk!
And since I want it to be in Thra, where in the timeline should it be? During the Age of Division before the events of AoR, far far past the events of the later comics in the Second Age of Harmony with Kensho and Thurma, or create something new and rewrite the timeline altogether? lol I need to reread Power of TDC and read the other comics.
There's A LOT but it's fun.
#courage of the dark crystal#the dark crystal lu au#asks#AAAND apparently the crystal itself is like a teleporter with connections to other crystals in different worlds#which is where the UrSkeks came from#which works for the Twili ooooo#but there's already duel worlds made whole with Thra and Mithra soooo.... would the dark world be a mirror? What about Lorule? Deethra? hah#Lorule as another planet??? with its own version of Thra and Mithra#and then the dark world as a corrupted mirror?#the twili realm as another planet as well#hear me out hear me out hear me out- Fireling Shadow? YEAAAHHHHH!!!!! WOOOO!!!!

(Carlos Sainz Jr./Max Verstappen, 1.4k, rated G, 1/1)
(Pre-Relationship, Feelings Realization, Max Verstappen Needs a Hug, Max Verstappen Gets a Hug, thats it, thats the fic)
Summary:
I didn't know where else to go.
Read it on Ao3 or below. :))
(This was written for Day 1 of the All Ships Ship Week 2024 run by @ficwip for the prompt "I didn't know where else to go".
I've been working on it for a while and I am very very happy with the way it turned out! It's technically part 1 of a series inspired by the prompt, because I had so many ideas that I would love to put to paper and share with you!
Until then, I hope you enjoy my take on the prompt and I’d love to hear your thoughts! <33)
---
Carlos’ Driver’s room – 2015
“I didn’t know where else to go.”
Max sounds nervous, unsure.
It’s very disorienting. Very different from how he usually sounds.
Not that Carlos would be a fitting judge of that. They barely know each other.
Sure, they’ve been teammates for half a year now. And sure, they've spent a lot of that time basically living in each other's pockets - becoming friends even. But just because you’re frequently around someone doesn’t necessarily mean you know them.
You certainly know things about them. Carlos knows a lot of things about Max. Max knows a lot of things about Carlos. Inconsequential stuff - favourite foods, TV shows, ice cream flavours, the works.
(They’ve had a lot of downtime, which meant lots of opportunities to play dumb icebreaker games, when neither of them wanted to pretend to be busy on their phone.)
And yet, to Carlos, most of the Max Verstappen jigsaw in his head is still just a bunch of 2- or 3-piece clumps that he has no idea how to fit into the bigger picture.
I didn’t know where else to go.
Carlos knows how Max sounds when he’s in work-mode. How he talks in briefs and de-briefs, on the radio, in interviews and even those silly PR-videos the team makes them do.
There’s a certain harshness to his voice, that makes him sound almost angry at times - even when he’s just stating facts. (It gets him in trouble sometimes, but mostly seems to work well as a deflector. To keep all the drama at a distance.)
The thing is, most people only encounter Max in work-mode. So it’s easy for them to get the impression, that that’s just how he always sounds – how he always is – and put him into a corner because of it.
But Carlos has also heard how Max sounds when he talks to his family.
The harshness is still there – most likely an integral part of any version of him - but it’s not as pronounced. Instead it’s almost overshadowed by something Carlos can’t quite figure out. Something that continuously betrays his annoyed teenager exterior, revealing the fondness he has for the people closest to him with every word he speaks.
He’s never heard him sound like this though.
I didn’t know where else to go.
Carlos had expected a lot of things to happen this year. Had thought through all kinds of possible routes the season and the relationship with his teammate could take. Had talked about it at length with his father as well.
At no point had any of what he is currently faced with even crossed his mind in passing – meaning Carlos is not prepared for this in the slightest.
(Then again, where would a precedent for Max Verstappen breaking down and somehow seeing Carlos’ driver’s room as his only refuge even come from?)
And yet, here they are – Max curled up on the couch, sounding like he might burst into tears in the next five seconds and Carlos standing awkwardly in the doorway of his own driver’s room, utterly out of his depth.
His head is filled with questions. Most of them variations of What happened?, What do you need? and What the fuck happened?. The timespan between them parting ways after the de-brief and now seems to small for any earth-shattering event to occur.
But apparently it has.
Max is looking at Carlos, eyes filled with the same nervousness and uncertainty as his voice. He is looking at Carlos, like his world really is lying at his feet, broken into a million pieces. Like he has reached his absolute limit and can’t puzzle it back together by himself. But also like he isn’t entirely sure if Carlos would be willing to help him with it. Like he thinks that there’s a possibility his teammate – his friend – will actually kick him out in a state like this.
I didn’t know where else to go.
Realizing what his prolonged stunned silence probably looks like to Max, every question about What, When, Who is flying out of Carlos’ head and he finally manages to push through his shock and into action.
Usually, mostly due to Carlos’ own tendencies, physical contact is not uncommon between them. But he has no idea where Max’s boundaries lie when he’s this upset.
So, as he crosses the distance to the couch and sits down next to his teammate, Carlos makes sure to leave a moderate gap between them.
Just to be safe. Even though everything in him screams with the urge to just hug Max and hope it makes everything okay again.
His caution proves unnecessary, when not 3 seconds later, Carlos is hit with an armful of sobbing Dutchman, clinging to him like his teammate is the only thing tethering him to earth.
Mind still blanking on anything even remotely helpful to say, Carlos settles on simply giving in to his instincts and wrapping his arms around the younger man, gently rubbing his back.
When, after a few minutes, the sobs gradually simmer down to sniffles, Carlos is glad that it seems to be enough for now. That even though he has no idea how to go about this, he still managed to help somewhat.
It surprises Carlos a little bit, when Max relaxes more into his hold the longer it goes on and doesn’t make any move to pull away. To get away. He’d expected at least a little bit of that typical teenage embarrassment over having emotions, but, his initial fears assuaged, Max seems to trust Carlos enough to just let himself fall and be held.
The sniffles become fewer and more far between until Max’s breathing completely evens out. With no small amount of satisfaction does Carlos notice, that the younger man has fallen asleep in his arms.
It helps Carlos relax a bit as well – finally having at least a hint of an idea on how to manoeuvrer this uncharted territory in their relationship. If all Max needs is a safe place to land after whatever happened, it’s reassuring to know that he considers Carlos as such.
I didn’t know where else to go.
Carlos has no idea how long they’ve been sitting like this – Max fast asleep in his arms, Carlos gently drawing patterns onto his back – when he realises that, if a situation like this arose for himself, he wouldn’t hesitate to do the same.
That he too would feel comfortable enough with his teammate – his friend – to let himself be comforted. That he too would trust Max to hold him up when he couldn't do it himself.
This line of thinking seems so far removed from the way Carlos has seen their relationship up until this point and also how he usually thinks about his more casual, circumstantial relationships. Extremely far.
Maybe Carlos has been fooling himself. Maybe it’s impossible to spend as much time together as they have over the last few weeks alone and not grow close enough to trust each other like this. Maybe he just didn’t want to admit that he’s grown quite fond of his teammate. Because maybe, whatever is happening between them is starting to feel unlike anything else Carlos has ever experienced with a friend.
It’s very disorienting.
Especially since the whole thing seems to only be a surprise to his conscious brain.
There’s no tension in his body at their closeness, his limbs oddly calm and comfortable about it all. No subconscious urge to find a way to end it either. Everything about their embrace feels like it could go on forever and all of Carlos would be content with that.
Like it’s been this way for a while. Like Max and him having a connection that goes a bit deeper than just casual friendship is not even yesterday’s news, but last month’s. Like most of him has just been waiting for the last few bits to finally get with the program.
I didn’t know where else to go.
Carlos knows there's a lot to unpack here.
He should probably ask Max what happened. What got him so freaked out on a race weekend, that objectively hadn’t been a complete disaster.
He should probably also figure out what else he has missed in their relationship. And what that means exactly.
But with Max breathing evenly against his chest - a warm and calming weight on top of Carlos, slowly pulling him to sleep as well - he thinks it’s probably best to leave everything tied up for just a little bit longer.

It's Either Tourist Traps or Drugs
Gen, family-centric, rated T or M depending on installment
Do you like longfics? Gen fics? Reflective, OC-centric examinations of family dynamics? Maybe you'd like my fic!
Hi! I am not generally speaking active on Tumblr, but I just completed Part 5 of a fanfiction that is almost 150k words and which shows no signs of slowing down soon. I figured I'd show it to class. :)
Fragile First Chance and its follow-ups is a story about a nineteen-year-old boy whose legal name is Joss William [redacted] Pines but if you call him anything except Will you might end up in a fistfight. It's also a story about how the Pineses are basically good people with a lot of baggage.
Major themes are tagged and optional content warnings for individual chapters are included in drop-down tabs in the notes. For the most part, heavier themes are not gratuitous.
Below the cut you'll find a rough outline of each section. If you don't want spoilers, though, just head on over.
This story was well under way before The Book of Bill came out. It isn't perfectly TBoB compliant, but the themes and plot aren't really something that makes that an issue.
Part 1: Fragile First Chance
Dipper and Mabel Pines were sent to Gravity Falls at the beginning of summer for, from their perspective, no reason. In reality, it was because they were being sheltered from some very old family drama.
Will is May's son from her first marriage and Fil's son by adoption. He's nineteen years old, just getting out of his second incarceration, and a recovering addict. They planned to put him up for a few months, and after that Fil's weird black-sheep uncle agreed to give him a shot in Oregon.
Ford, of course, knew nothing about this. He's not happy about it.
Part 2: Learning to Breathe
Will and Ford are slowly acclimating to each other like two feral cats. They don't really have anything in common except insomnia and a mutual desperate quest not to get in too many fights.
Will doesn't like Gravity Falls. It's lonely, there's nothing to do, and it's full of weird bullshit he doesn't want to deal with. He's coping, though - Soos is pretty cool, the local teens are entertaining, and he ends up getting a long really well with the local bait shop guy and his dad.
Part 3: When Family Matters
Will has started to figure out how Ford works and make an effort to be nice to him. He also tentatively almost likes the guy. (cue Stan audibly sighing in relief off-screen.)
Also: Dipper and Mabel have figured out that their long-lost brother has reappeared, and there are certain family traditions about how you deal with long-lost brothers.
Part 4: Lancing the Wound
Ford and Will are both under a phenomenal amount of stress for a wide variety of reasons. By this point in the story, words like "panic attack" and "therapy" are coming up more often. They have more in common than they ever realized, although for two people with severe abuse-related PTSD, that's not necessarily a good thing.
The McGuckets are around to help. The Twins are too, although whether that's a good thing is open to debate.
Part 5: Nature versus Nurture
In the wake of Part 4, Stanford Pines is coming to realize that his mental health is a much more serious problem than he had previously realized. He struggles to come to terms with this and decide what to do next. This segment of the story is primarily about self-reflection and realizing that you need to change. We also get some serious discussions about the mental health industry (and how it tied into the gay scene in the 70s) by people who are personally invested in it.
Part 6: Definition of a Real Pines
This story arc just started and concerns Ford navigating his life as he tries to re-integrate with his family and society while working through a very difficult mental health situation.
We'll get to meet more of the Pines family. Shermie lives in Florida with his sister-in-law. (Note for those curious about the timeline incongruities: Shermie's age is- wait, look over there! *smokebomb, jumps out the window*)
Bonus: Erastus Kankerson's Toxic Ex
This is a stand-alone one-shot about Erastus Kankerson, an old friend of Fiddleford McGucket who dated him for a while after the divorce.

For this year's Mer-may (which I definitely didn't almost forget about) I present Angler Fish N & Octopus Uzi~ just the sketches though.
◀◁Possible AU details below? ▷▶ Warning: Long.
Ok, so I've never really made an AU before. Still, While I was designing these I was trying to figure out how the sea/ocean creatures would work good not just with their respective species (worker, disassembly) and abilities but also how I could integrate their pre-existing designs so that they would look nice and make sense.
First, I decided I didn't want them to be robotic for this since I like working with organic creatures a bit more. Having flesh eliminates most movement restrictions when posing since the body material is malleable. while the idea of robot mermaids is cool, I didn't feel like drawing a bunch of joints and stuff like that. Second, If they were organic then I needed to figure out why they were fighting if it wasn't for a huge human plot to destroy rouge AI. And finally, how was I going to incorporate their powers like absolute solver and other such stuff without necessarily using technology. Having all these things in the back of my head while I was drawing led to the following, so without further ado, here's that ↓. This gonna be long, I can already feel it...
_______
◇Story stuff.
A long time ago, merpeople ruled the water in peace. Humans kept to the land and the only thing they had to worry about were the sirens: Natural predators to the merpeople.
In the eyes of the merfolk, sirens were dangerous. Mindless, bloodthirsty monsters that couldn't be reasoned with. fortunately, their naturally heightened senses left them sensitive to sunlight. This kept them mostly contained to deeper, darker waters than the merpeople usually inhabited.
During the day it was safe to hunt, play and generally flourish as a species and at night they would hide in sea caves and other small spaces that a siren would have trouble fitting into.
That's how it was for many peaceful years. Occasionally one or two would die a victim to the monsters of the deep, but that was just nature.
But slowly as time moved forward and Humanity continued to develop, the merpeople were driven to deeper waters to escape pollution and being hunted.
Uzi's mother, Nori began having visions of a terrible fate that awaited her kind if things continued as they were and after weeks of pleading with her people and her husband to heed the warnings, she went to the sirens alone. for what reason? No one really knows. It's a mystery that only she knew the answer to.
After getting stung by the sirens paralyzing venom, her husband Khan made the heartbreaking decision to put Nori out of her misery before the sirens could do any worse, leaving him to raise their infant daughter Uzi by himself.
The incident resulted in a lot of deaths and many of the families of those that had passed blamed Nori. Saying that she was a mad woman and rumouring that she was a witch who had been meddling in dark magic that caused her to lose her mind and wander towards her death.
Seventeen years later, Uzi had grown up to be an unstable and particularly angsty teenager with a strained relationship with her colony and her father. Uzi believed that the ever-looming threat of the sirens was not something to hide from, but to confront head-on. Such notions labelled her as her mother's daughter in the worst ways possible: Crazy, an incident waiting to happen, most likely going to get eaten by a siren for reasons they will never understand.
Khan had kept the colony safe since Nori's death by having everyone hide away in a cavern big enough to house them but with an entrance so well hidden that everyone believed that the sirens would never find a way in.
Inevitably, Uzi grew tired of cowering and after fashioning the first semi-modern weapon her people had seen out of sea trash and other things humans had chosen to toss into their waters, she snuck out to confront the enemy.
The siren's lair was decorated rather grimly, with the nest seemingly fashioned out of the bones of long-dead mermaids, skulls stacked up together to make the walls of the lair. Inside the dimly lit den was a single male siren who was in the middle of feasting on a mummified corpse which looked to have been drained of all its blood.
As soon as he noticed her, he rushed toward her with killing intent. Uzi's fight or flight kicked in as she brandished her weapon, but it failed to deter the monster in his bloodthirsty craze. He grabbed her by the shoulders, stinging her with the paralyzing toxin in his Claws. Uzi barely managed to break free from his grip by slashing his face with her weapon, sending him reeling back from shock.
Uzi immediately felt her limbs growing heavier but ignored it in favour of taking the opportunity to take the Siren by surprise. While he was distracted she threw her weapon to the ceiling causing an avalanche of skulls to come crashing down on top of him. Uzi had only a moment to breathe, thinking her enemy was buried and dead before a clawed hand burst through the top of the pile like a zombie about to dig itself out of the grave.
Panic surged through her and with as much strength she could muster she pushed away the darkening of her vision and forced the few tentacles that didn't refuse to move to propel her forward with enough force to hopefully finish the job.
The siren's head burst through the pile of death with a groan of pain, but before he could do anything else, he was knocked unconscious as rock made contact with his already aching head.
All was silent for a moment, Uzi fighting for consciousness as her vision continued to darken, whether she was just crashing from the adrenaline or if the toxin was shutting her brain down she wasn't sure. but then the monster woke up, a confused look on his face as he pulled himself out of the skeletons. he blinked and turned his attention to the little creature before him.
"Did you just hit me with that rock?"
"Holy crap it talks."
_______
◈Extra details.
-The sirens and Humans have a deal with each other that if the humans drive the Mer-people deeper into siren territory the sirens will kill the species off in exchange for making them more powerful.
-Apparently, the humans want them dead because they are considered a threat, and can't be reasoned with.
-this is a giant lie on the human part, as they have made no attempt to talk with the merpeople and plan to kill all the sirens after the mermaids are dead.
-Rather than absolute solver being a program I'm changing it to being some form of magic that the humans discovered mermaids had after analyzing corpses that had washed ashore.
-In order to gain this power plan on reverse engineering it from the merpeople's remains while eliminating the prospective threat to humanity at the same time.
-The humans claim that they will make the sirens more powerful by implementing them with tech that will supposedly allow them to live and hunt during the day.
-This tech would actually be something of a remote detonator that once activated would be used to kill all the sirens off at once.
-I haven't decided if all sirens are angler fish, but probably not because that would be boring for me to design.
-Not all merpeople are Octopi though, that's for sure.
-I'd say that since merpeople can be the same species without necessarily being based around the same sea creature, the babies would simply take after one parent entirely.
-This would make sense in this as to why Uzi looks like the spitting image of her mom.
-While trying to figure out Absolute Solver I was really channelling Ursula for Uzi with the skull and the octopus stuff and it all just kinda resulted in sea-witch.
-Both mermaids and Sirens got bioluminescence as a default so that we don't gotta stifle that glow they got in canon.
-Since it wouldn't make sense for fish to have screens and stuff of their faces and bodies, those dark areas where the face-screen would be are just body markings now.
-Uzi's hat is now a sea anemone that just kinda chills on top of her head, kinda like how they do with crabs in real life.

I know this was really fucking long but if you made it to the end, thank you very much for reading❤️
Im still workshopping this and I don't even know if anyone has already done something like this. I wouldn't be too surprised if they had since it's May and Mermaids are pretty popular... idk, if I make a fic I'll let you know.

Hi! Saw your requests were open and I'm dying for some druid!tav (wild shape shenanigans) fics with Astarion, if you feel up to it ❤️ Maybe tav helps him hunt one night? But really anything you feel inspired by is fine by me ❤️
New Perspectives
A/N: Thank you for the request! This turned into mindless fluff I believe, so I hope you like it! :) Description: Astarion's favorite thing to hunt is you. Tav usually indulges him but she decides he needs some grounding this particular night. Word count: 796
━─━────༺༻────━─━
Red eyes followed intently, the slow and methodical creature's movements amounting to be one of the most elegant in all of Faerûn. The blades of the creature's back move harmoniously with each careful step across the wooded area. Astarion continued to revel in the polished maneuvers the black panther made in front of him, the creature now standing atop a rocky slope, taking a moment to carefully inspect the darkness amidst the shrub and brush before them.
Astarion faltered if only for a moment, skulking back to remain unseen. His mind raced; he had always relished in the game of chase. As of late, his hunt of choice had been you. There was an intoxicating addiction in the thrill. Astarion had grown a healthy love for the thrill of everything you had to offer him. This had become a nightly occurrence. You wander and evade; he hides and strategizes a way to pounce when you’re least expecting him. The high of the chase always prompted you to bare your neck to him. He would always win, after all. Though he did wonder if you simply enjoyed the game as much as he did.
Within an instant, you’re on top of him. Pouncing from the rock, you land on top of the vampire with ease, causing him to crash into the dirt beneath his feet. Nuzzling your own snout into Astarion’s neck, much like he had done to you countless nights. Gazing down upon your prey, the moon kisses his pale skin and you shortly wonder how you had gotten so lucky. Chiseled from the finest of stones he was, but deeper than that your souls had never felt more integral to one another.
He had always been so closed-minded to the simpler things in life. Until you, that is. Slowly, you broke down the walls that he had built so sturdy around himself. A comfortable ignorance, he now often joked to you. In reality, the power he had craved was not his freedom. This was. After being in the dark for two hundred years, the little time he had in the sun had taught him many things, but he had relearned a love for the nature around him thanks to you.
Still propping up over Astarion, you allow your true form to materialize once more, hands firmly in the dirt beside his head; knees planted to the ground as you beam down at him. “I figured a change of pace wouldn’t hurt.” You murmur, moving in to place soft lips upon soft lips. Instinctively, his hands come to rest on your hips. He attempts to deepen the kiss and you tut softly, breaking away.
“Oh come on.” His tone is whiny, causing the faintest smile to grace your lips.
“Shh.” You urge, holding a finger out in front of his lips. “Do you hear that?” You hum, closing your eyes and sinking into Astarion’s chest.
His eyes remain on starlit skies, welcoming you into his arms. “Um… Not necessarily, darling. Are you doing okay?” He quips, brushing the hair from your face in order to indulge in the beauty that you radiated.
“I’m fine.” You groaned, looking up at him with wonder-filled eyes. “Listen carefully.” You coax.
“Well of course I hear everything. The cicadas-”
“Oh my, Astarion. Humor me for a moment, please.” The softest huff emanates from your pink lips.
But he does. He closes his eyes and grants himself grace to slip away for the moment.
The cicadas sing harmonically, yes. Faint buzzing can be heard from nearby insects. The melody of an owl hooting in the distance. Unknown animals scuttled in the distance, dead and fallen leaves crunching beneath their feet. Wind entangling into leaves of tall, unwavering trees. These were all things Astarion had heard countless times during hunts. Had he ever truly taken the time to admire the beauty of it all? He doesn’t believe so. It’s humbling for an instant.
He takes note of soft fingertips stroking his firm chest through his shirt, and what bliss is this? One Astarion doesn’t believe he will ever get used to. Despite his inability to return to the world of sunshine, something he greatly yearned for, it hurt a little less when you demonstrated just how beautiful his world truly was, so long as he recognized it
“Thank you.” He whispers, eyes reopening, pooled with the utmost love and admiration. For you, for the world you’ve encouraged him to see; one that has been right under his nose.
“For what?” You question absently.
“For everything.” You feel that familiar press of lips to your forehead. Maybe life bathed in moonlight wasn’t nearly as bad as he had grown to know. All he needed was a reminder and a new perspective every now and again.

Hello! I hope it’s okay I’m asking this..
I’m very interested in working with Lord Lucifer (King Asmodeus as well) for a long while now and I do not know how to start. The downside is that I currently don’t have money and a job yet. What’s your advice? I already did some research on them and I don’t know what to do after that.
-Sincerely anonymous K
The great thing is you don’t need any money to start worshipping or working with Lucifer!
If you’ve already put a lot of time into researching and understanding Lucifer, you should start focussing your efforts towards connecting to him. A worshipping relationship may or may not differ from a working relationship depending on the kind of reverence you have for him. When you’ve decided what kind of relationship you want to have with him, the rest will naturally fall into place. Some will encounter Lucifer as a fatherly figure, a godly authority, others will interact with him as a causal friend who aids in spell work, and others will address him as a lover, a brother or mentor. It’s impossible to know what to do with Lucifer before you’ve established what Lucifer is to you.
Because he is such a great guide, he tends to pick up beginners pretty quickly. He’s an extremely popular deity so there are a lot of resources on him and many different ways to connect to him. I personally have a lot of luck listening to, singing, and meditating on his enn. (Renich Tasa Uberaca Biasa Icar Lucifer) Burning his sigil with chamomile and lavender before bed can help to attract him in dreams. If you’re not yet fully capable of interpreting him directly, tools like tarot cards can allow you to have a cohesive conversation without relying entirely on intuition. Chances are with repeated practice, you’ll start to get inclinings towards the certain offerings he may want. Putting those things together in a little space usually evolves into an altar.
It’s important to have a complete understanding of your boundaries when working with any entity, but especially with infernals. It’s not necessarily because Lucifer will try to push your boundaries, but more so that he will make you extremely aware of them if you weren’t already. If you’re uncomfortable with things like blood offerings, sex offerings or sacrifices you should establish that right away. He will be willing to work within your comfort zone.
Depending on the sphere you’re working in (the qliphoth for example), different trials or forms of initiation may be used. Oftentimes, the process of communicating and figuring out the fundamentals of your relationship and contract will act as trials in themselves.
One of the very first acts of worship I started integrating into my craft was the celebration of Venus Day every Friday. Establishing a little time in your routine to recognize him is one of the first steps in devotion! I also suggest writing letters addressed to him which you can burn or keep on his altar.

✨🌈💖Doodles n Ocs !!!!!! 🌈🌈💖
I was energized yesterday, so I grabbed my pencil and started looking around for interesting ocs lol
(( @minoru-eno // Idk what Kitty's @ is.... ))
First and foremost was this booger
Cant remember what his name was... But I really loved his zombie//rotting body
If I have a second chance, I'd draw a bit more gorey or twisted poses with him, since he can just regen himself>>
Have to say, this sketch turned out the BEST purely bc at a character standpoint, its amazing cough
Second is how well he can integrate himself in the detailed, Jmilo style
And also cus he's a cutie patootie...
And well, most of my energy was really put into this sketch
I had a lot of fun with him!!
MINORU IF YOURE LISTENING GIVE ME MORE CRUMBS STOP GATEKEEPING GRRRRR
.
.
.
HONESTLY after drawing 'experiment boy,' I knew that I wanted to do KittyLilyHeart's oc, Amcy, next
I wasnt certain what kind of pose I wanted
So, in the heat of the momment, I kinda... Redrew her refrence pose..
IN HINDSIGHT i could've just read her lore ((bc im a sucker for transmigration stories, my pfp boy is LITERALLY from one + 1 Lefe Lore point))
I think that she looks so much more... savage-like? An almost fox-like slyness...
What really stood out to me was her wide smile
It would be a dishonor!! Of me to make it smaller
Soo...
Nayway! I wished I leaned more into her transmigration plotpoint
Maybe a high tech panel to her sides, showcasing profiles of her 'units' and current progression eithin each story ...
Ah, but from my own speculation, she doesn't necessarily like or want to do it, huh?
Her dialogue on her refrence sheet is strange; "HELP" written in a light blood, red handprints on her shaded figure, a glitched and foreboding scream "GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!"
I like this aspect of her; it seems to me that she doesn't wanna be in this endless loop of romancing pointless people in a pointless story
If I had understood this earlier on, I would e implied ot better with the sketch
Hmm... Maybe a disgruntled expression while staring at a True Milo? A bit complicated... Ahh
I do like her though. I'm not fond of many characters, but shes got a place somewhere here
.
.
.
OK AT LONG LAST
Eerie Day
EERIE DAY, THAT ONE PL G*N OC
who happened to win a "whos the most unhinged" poll, cant forget that!!
Im surprised that he... Well, whatever
Pretty boy smh
Im showing his ugly picture, just for his humiliation fun!!
I
Actually liked drawing him again
.
Just kidding he needs to go back to jail
Stupid
ugly
Get in there, pretty face!!
Heh
One bad thing, put behind bars
Speaking of metal things, remember Opal? Yeah uhm. He's here too...
It seems like all my ocs are making a reappearance after weeks!! (R.i.p Cherry...)
Its been TOO LONG
and frankly I
Opal isnt suited for Jmilo style tbh
For one; no nose, no eyebrows, big boba eyes, unrealistic hair details
Ahh
Hes always meant for Jchan style I guess
Cutesy, big eyes, unrealistic hair
ehe, Speaking of Jchan style ...
Ta-da!!! A little present for coming down this far
Long road of me yapping
I like to yap. Just that nobody is here to listen.
Nayway!!!
Theres a few (ton) more ocs/characters I want to draw
Lots
All the milos, for one
And maybe another Pl oc? Ehe
Oh well~ Ill get to a certain nredeacterjecjevavtsbrsvg eventually
Anyway!! Heres a small sketch of myself!
My persona tbh... Same thing! Person! Same person!
Ahh
Thats all the tumblr images can handle
Thanks for seeing them all! I wish more people could tell me that I didnt waste my time, more often
Cya tmr! Or today? Its 2am... Ahhh
*falls backwards into coffin

ahhhh i finished it last saturday night (11/9) (this will post from the q so after other q'd things)! it was really enjoyable tbh, i really liked it. it was good (if we don't get another da game, i am fairly satisfied) not perfect but few things are. def stick with it if you're not sure, there's a LOT at the end
spoilers for the end of veilguard- initial notes after the cut, not particularly organized
not me figuring out the varric reveal like 5 minutes before it was actually revealed tho XD tbh i was expecting him to die from the trailers and then he didn't and i was like "oh perhaps they're doing something else with him?" so they got me with the bait and switch and i was properly horrified. good job, you got me bioware. (as an aside, i still don't think varric was a strong enough choice as solas' friend for the intro section, like you never get the impression they are friends in dai at all. varric was stronger friends with anders than he was with solas, despite weird dai retcon about it. I wish they'd centered the narrative around someone else there- cole would have been a good choice? or cole and varric even since that's the most interesting interaction varric has with solas in dai) i'll def have to watch the cutscenes with him in subsequent pts. I kinda wish they'd done a follow up with him somewhere, maybe like the endings in that one fade book you find in trespasser (like at that fade bar with alistair/the warden/hawke/etc, would have been nice). got some solavellan conclusions, more than i expected and it was pretty good all things considered (i would have loved more, but also this was much more than we've gotten from other cameos of previous protagonists).
(is this the most awkward screenshot ever? possibly XD look she loves him so much, she'll even kiss his blight-y mouth and go live with him in the fade) i do wish they'd figured out a way to keep cole in (esp since spirit cole has that sad line about needing to help solas at the end of trespasser) somewhere. it was still pretty good honestly, i cried (this whole game made me cry at various points tho). I do think it could have resolved with them both living outside the fade and just his life being tied to it but i also get them wanting to literally tie up loose ends with this particular narrative.
it feels very mass effect 2ish (esp the end game section), i think most people will like it but i did find the end game section kinda stressful (where you have to pick the right person for things). Also for a dragon age game, usually by the end you have your team so having to break up the team so they live is not necessarily what i want in a DA game (i can appreciate it narratively while disliking it in practice lol) The format is also very mass effect-y in how it doles out companion stuff (esp romance stuff)- it's paced around the plot which is for the most part a good thing (but it also made it hard to tell where you were with things). I definitely like how they utilized the factions better than DAI or DAO tho- even tho only their rank mattered, having the characters in cut scenes and as npcs you can chat with at the end was really nice. I don't know if it's just lucanis' romance or all of them, but i kept thinking i'd missed something b/c of how long they make you wait for private time alone with your partner (the parts we get are really good, don't get me wrong, it just made me wait FOREVER to smooch him or get more than burning looks lol). 100% worth it tho. will romance many more times probably
(aside: getting to have a rook who's got a body like mine and a flat chest and have another character look at them desirously was just gender euphoria really. like okay actually their chest is nicer than mine -i have to do more pushups- but STILL. THANK YOU BIOWARE FOR INCLUDING NON BINARY PEOPLE SO MUCH IN THIS NARRATIVE and integrating us so deeply in all the bits, not just pronouns and basic shit) Like it wasn't even before the first "final" mission but before teh for realskies final mission ish (and i got more dialogue towards the end too). Real Return of the King BUT WAIT there's more vibes with the end (past the point of no return warning). I wish there was a little bit more romance partner time in act 2 even if it was just vibing? I did get a lot of good companion banter about it which i love (i live for banter and the banter in this was so good) i think my biggest note is i didn't feel the music helped it that much? idk i wish they'd just gone with one of their previous composers so it felt more dragon age-y (the zimmer score felt a little generic except when it did reprises of previous dragon age themes). Sometimes it felt too bombastic and sometimes there was not enough, idk, it just didn't have quite the same feel. i did like that they reused the bard music from DAI in the cities, made me smile hearing the sera song esp. i also wish the approval/tone system was a little more like dragon age 2 where you got unique dialogue choices based on which you chose more. Also sometimes the "sassy" answer wasn't that sassy or felt mean, there felt like a little bit of a disconnect between what i would have expected from the choice and what was said. The approval system was a bit weird too - like there were no approvals early on and then suddenly people reacted to things (but it didn't seem to impact their bonds). It felt like that could have used more tweaking or been more obvious anyway. It also felt like it required your character to code switch when talking to different companions since some of them responded to the different tones differently- which felt really weird and a little clunky. I def wished for more of the DA2 style where your companions just accept that you are a fun or kind or straightforward and you can rp that for the whole game.
i really liked the art direction (tho i did sort of miss the persistent splatter gore) and loved all the companions! the story was overall pretty good tho it suffered from a few pacing issues early on (you could sort of tell it had been reworked a little bit and bits were still a bit weird- but tbh all the games suffer from this a bit).
the combat was fun! i wish the targeting was a little better (as i've mentioned) and toward the end of the game, i got some stuttering when a lot of things were hitting rook at once (so it wouldn't register my dodges correctly). I played as rogue rook and it was super fun, glad i went with my actual fave class on my first pt (i always think i should be a mage and then want to be a rogue so im glad i can finally be like no no, i love knives and arrows!) The optional bosses were the most fun/challenging. Finished the game with the poison squad ofc but most of the companions felt reasonably balanced when I had to use certain parties (i'd say the warriors felt the weakest in their skills, have to see how player warrior feels, rogue rook was awesome). i loved that you could refund your skill tree at any point for no cost and also that it explained the bits of the tree (bursty, control, etc) so you could work out your own build for it. I wish the super special rune you get for beating the optional questline wasn't presented as your last ditch effort thing- i got confused by this dialogue and was a little afraid to use it at first (i thought i'd have to use it at a particular time in a fight, but nah it was just a really good rune with a normal cd) Obviously there's still more questions (the "secret" post credits scene) and i kinda wanted a post credit party scene? Maybe if we're lucky we'll get one like we did for bg3 i'm pretty satisfied, already started some more rooks and ready to make some fan art! [im also pretty sure my first pt had the most bugs since i started it on release date and didn't get the starter quest achievements until my 2nd rook, so we'll see how it plays with war rook and mage rook)
