Not my usual stuff but screw it! I'm part art blog now! I'm taking an art class geared towards animation and have had a lot of fun with it so far! Some of these came out way, way better than i could have hoped for. I'm 6 years out of practice and i think this is genuinely some of my best work!

Trick for remembering 12hour time

so like we have "am" and "pm", and like "am" comes first,, because alphabet you see?

Here's an ✨example✨

to convert 01:47 into 1:47 am you just use "am", because it's the first half of the day. but if we have "15:24", we need to first subtract 12:00, and then add the "pm", right?

but there's more! if the result happens to have 0 hours, then we have to replace in with 12. because, you see, this is the way clocks work. we aren't programmers here. we don't count form 0. we count form 12!! /j

an interesting consequence of this is, that the "12:** pm" times get converted back and forth without changing at all :)

My favorite thing about getting a post massively reblogged is seeing how many people have negative tagging systems. I don't mean "negative" in the sense of "bad", I just mean that instead of tagging something as X, they tag it as not-Y.

Like you'll make a post about how spoons were invented in the 1720s in an ill-fated attempt to settle an argument between four of the five popes, and it gets reblogged and someone tags it "#not naruto".

And it's like, you're not wrong. That post has nothing to do with Naruto! But you can't help but feel proud your post got selected as one of the few non-naruto posts worthy of being included on their clearly heavily Naruto-themed blog.
