oh, you're not the only one. I saw your post and went "oh that episode! the one that specified that they broke up" and it's still so weird that he's somehow in the wrong for saying they broke up. Like, what was he supposed to say in response? what was he supposed to do?
which is an opinion I've held in the decade-plus it's been since I saw the episode.
that omniverse had a scene repeating that they broke up always felt weird bc I went "wait, didn't we already go over them breaking up in a previous series?"
To be fair, Ben and Julie did get back together in Ultimate Alien. They were on-off for a little bit there.

how seventeen get cuteness aggression for their s/o
requested by many people! counterpart to this hc <3
masterlist
seungcheol, woozi
has probably actually gotten mad at how cute you are at some point. like genuinely, looking over at you and then just freezing, before loudly complaining and making a whole fuss over how you can't keep looking at him like that because he will!!! he Will need to punch something bc of just!!! how!!! cute!!! you are. nonono, he's not punching you, he's gonna punch like. a wall or something. just to vent over how someone as adorable as you actually exists. and then he'll give you kisses all over until you're laughing because you are ridiculously cute and he needs to shower you with affection so you realise how enamoured he is.
jeonghan, joshua, minghao
only he could make cuteness aggression sound like the softest thing ever. he'll be aggressively squishing your cheeks so hard that your eyes are all squinty and everything you say is basically indecipherable, whilst he continues sighing and looking at you with all the fondness in the world and lamenting over how goddamn adorable you are and honestly, what is he going to do with you? the stark contrast between his soft, enamoured voice and the way he's ruffling your hair and kissing your face everywhere like you're going to disappear any moment makes you laugh, weirdly endeared by his behaviour. you're going to get him back for it, though. and ruffle his hair until he can't see a single thing.
junhui, hoshi, mingyu, chan
probably cries. he looks at you sitting there all pretty, completely minding your own business, and the feelings just bubble up inside him so aggressively because WHO is allowed to be that adorable whilst doing absolutely nothing? it's not fair. what starts out as a rant over your cuteness ends up with him a bit teary-eyed and sniffly bc you're just so pretty and he doesn't know what to do. you have to pat him on the head and wipe away his tears as he clings to you and continues to tearily confess that you're the sweetest and loveliest person he's ever seen. his episodes of cuteness of aggression always end with you getting cuteness aggression too bc of how adorable he is everytime he does this
wonwoo, vernon
he's not very showy about his cuteness aggression, at all, but that doesn't mean it's not obvious. he'll stare at you for hours with literal hearts in his eyes, fondness written all over his face, and anyone who looks at him will just know how cute he finds you, even though he hasn't said a word. acts like you're the most precious being in the entire world, and is basically dissolving into a puddle of adoration right then and there. god, he's so lucky to even be in your presence and be able to love you, bc you're just so pretty and so cute. “why are you staring at me so much?” / “you're just so cute, i don't know what to do with you.”
dokyeom, seungkwan
he is very, very noisy about how cute he finds you. i mean like genuinely screeching and being all loud as he complains that you are far too adorable and what about his heart?? have you thought about his heart? bc it's currently melting onto the floor and it's all your fault!!!! the loud screeching is Also accompanied by very clingy hands, so expect the sudden shout to then be followed up with him basically hanging off your shoulders and holding your face in his hands as he cries over how adorable and lovely you are. everyone within a fifty metre radius will know that he finds you cute, by the way. be prepared.

FIVE YEARS LATER
The trip back home wasn’t as rough as Yoongi expected it to be.
Somehow, there’s a huge difference between sitting in economy seats versus first-class seats, even if they’re situated on the same aircraft. When he left, Yoongi was irritable (amongst other things) to keep bumping elbows with everyone else; now that he’s back, he almost misses the ruckus in the cabin that’s far too cramped for everyone who could afford it.
Yoongi used to hate people like himself — atleast the version that he is now. He hated bastards sitting upfront in seats that reclined all the way back and ate off plates instead of noisy, flimsy plastic containers. Back then, deep down to his very core, he wanted that lifestyle for himself. To become bigger and better than he could ever imagine for the life ahead of him was always the goal.
Now that he’s at the peak, maybe even being the peak himself, he feels weirdly homesick.
“You need to bundle up all the way, Haneul. They’re gonna scold me if you’re not covered from head to toe,” Yoongi playfully chides his son, the insecurity and nervousness underneath his tone flying right over his head. It’s not even that cold, but still, a huge part of Yoongi worries.
He worries everyday if he’s a good dad to his four-year old. He worries if he’s good enough to be a solo parent because after all, he’s the one who has main custody of Haneul anyway. He worries and worries, but there’s nothing quite like the trepidation he feels being back home with everyone who has ever known him prior to all this success, suddenly seeing him come home.
It should be the opposite way around, that’s what everyone says to him. Yoongi had been queasy the whole flight back home despite the flight being one of the smoothest trips he’s ever been on in his life. He’s nervous to be back where he had been born and raised and he doesn’t know what’s that supposed to mean, except for the fact that he has an inkling of what the weight in his chest pertains to.
He’s back because it’s your mother’s 60th birthday. He’s back because her and Namjoon had asked him to, and he obliged without even thinking about it. Yoongi had offered numerous times to throw a party for the woman who had practically raised him alongside his closest friend, and even if Namjoon had backed him up on the grand idea for such a large milestone, she said no. All she wanted was for everyone to be back home, and Yoongi couldn’t say no.
Neither could you.
Yoongi is not the most modest person alive, but he is at his humblest when he drives the long way home just to delay the inevitable. He’s happy to the point he could be sick. He can’t tell if it’s the joy or the anxiety in his chest that makes it tighten, almost unbearably so, that he makes Haneul reach up to his forehead to check if he has a fever.
Yoongi’s home.
Not Los Angeles home, and not New York home. Not his home with a closet that’s the size of his childhood house’s living room, and not his space with the big windows and concierge downstairs.
Yoongi’s home — where the streets are narrow and the stairs are creaky; where this time, it’s all of him and none of you.
.
.
.
Enduring is different than working.
You’ve realized that the two concepts are drastically different as soon as Yoongi left, leaving you to survive the remaining years of your degree before you had to face the reality that you had to work to the bone for the rest of your life if you wanted a shot at living an average, food-stocked-in-the-fridge kind of life.
You didn’t know anyone who was connected to someone of importance one way or another, your family had zero ties, and you graduated from a university that raised more eyebrows in confusion than it tilted heads in awe. Your degree does havehigh promises as far as everyone in your town was concerned — it does and it should be, if only you were born and raised in different circumstances.
There’s not one acclaimed and high-profit company that would ever accept the likes of you. You worked hard and even if there were no exchange student agreements and Latin honors to show for it, you really did. You gave your best to graduate with a degree you never really liked and was only forced upon you, all for the promise of a future. It didn’t matter if it was extremely good or bad — everyone else just said you had to have one.
Your misfortune is what it is. It’s empty and haunting and the two weeks you had spent in the city right after graduating is truly something you never want to relive.
In hindsight, gambling the rest of your pocket money on a bus fare in your last day of job-hunting in the city at the time was a stupid decision. It was impulsive and irresponsible and everything your family scolded you for, what Yoongi hated you for, but it ended up being the single best gamble you’ve ever made, even above entry-level lottery tickets.
The same circumstances that held you back from where you’re supposed to head ended up propelling you to somewhere far, far different. Your degree became completely irrelevant, and the fact that you had nobody of significance in the city– no person to pass malice and gossip onto— made you a manager.
It had been a gamble to go work for an unknown entertainment company, much more a sinking one. It was an insult to have busted your ass back in your hometown, studying and working at the same time, only to work professionally in the city for a field that you didn’t even study about.
Your fate is what it is. You’ve endured and worked hard enough to the point that you had finally lucked out. Being the manager of someone who had later turned out to become the biggest actor in the industry, even in Hollywood, became your biggest break up to date.
Your way back home feels like an embrace you’ve denied yourself for far too long. You’ve mainly stayed in Seoul apart from the several hundred times you had to come with Jungkook for filming outside of the country, yet you could only count on one hand the amount of times you came home without anyone telling you to.
Coming home had become foreign to you as much as leaving it had become familiar.
“I’m near, Joon,” you hum to your phone, taking a quick glance at the cake you’ve strapped to your front seat. “It’s only us, right?”
“Yeah. Just us.”
Maybe it’s your fault for changing what us meant throughout the past five years, but Namjoon’s definition never changed. Maybe it’s your fault for not clarifying what he meant when you’re still kilometers away, when you can still leave, but nonetheless, you were cornered.
Us meant what it used to be when you were a kid in your childhood home — when Yoongi was still in the picture and you didn’t hate him for it.
In the grand scheme of things, you realize that Yoongi was right — nothing valuable was left for him in your hometown anymore. He was as right as you were wrong every time he went on a monologue of how he thinks there’s no problem in him admitting that he’s full of envy. He had been right for being bitter that there’s people who have and get much more than him, more than what they deserve, by not even putting a fourth of the effort that he does.
In the same way that he was right, you were wrong for thinking each time that Yoongi would soon outgrow his ambitions and instead, see things for what they are. You were wrong for thinking Yoongi would stoop down to your page, much less ever think of it.
Yoongi was right for saying that his stomach’s made of steel, and you were wrong for trying to convince him otherwise. He’s always had the appetite for more, the digestion of whatever life throws at him coming easy. Yoongi can choke down the reality of leaving Namjoon, your brother, who’s been buddies with him even before they could talk. He could forgo the only brother figure he’s ever had in his life if it means making something of himself.
He doesn’t get constipated from the reality of no longer having the homemade meals your mother would make that the younger, more innocent, and less ambitious version of him would literally jumps fences for. In fact, Yoongi’s palate craved something more foreign and sophisticated; not familiar, hearty meals served in dinnerware dulled from years of routine.
His stomach doesn’t turn thinking about how the skyline he said he’d never get tired of, wouldn’t appear in his new side of the world. The little, unassuming, and far too comfortable version of him who used to chase sunrises with his bike as a child and chase sunsets with his car as a teenager, doesn’t feel like he’d be poisoned if he were to see the sunlight in a high-rise instead of a run-down pavement.
Yoongi’s right when he said he had a tolerance because he doesn’t even get heartburn when you cry for him to no longer leave. You’re not in the position to beg him to stay (and you probably never will be) because as you’ve come to realize, he would only stay for the big things.
The only thing that would anchor Min Yoongi into place and dissuade him from chasing more is by being the most. One would have to be extremely significant, even bigger than Namjoon’s brotherhood, your mother’s impact, and what your hometown has to offer. You can’t even hold a candle to the aforementioned.
In Yoongi’s grand plan that’s as big as the galaxy, you’re merely a speck of dust that had the luck of hovering around him. You realized it back then when you blew over and fought with him right before his flight; right when Yoongi was clutching his one-way ticket, right when one foot was already out of the door.
“But the future that you want is not easy, Yoongi!” you gritted through your teeth, the grip you had on his suitcase too visceral that it bends under the pressure. Yoongi snatches his luggage from you in a blink, nostrils flaring in annoyance.
“Of course you’d be the first to say that,” he seethed, eyes wild and unforgiving. He drills his finger into his temple, inching towards you with an anger he had never shown before. “You don’t work as hard as I do, Y/N! You always settle. You always go for mediocre. You never put your head into anything because you’re too immature for any of this shit!”
“I’m not immature, you asshole!”
“Yes you are, you dipshit!” Yoongi scoffed, throwing his head back. “You cave and you bend and you let the whole world fuck you over, then you come running to me whining. You don’t have a passion in life, Y/N! You’re begging me to stay in the same predicament that you’re in now, what’s not immature about that?”
“When you leave now and decide to come back one day, Yoongi,” you spat with resentment, the tears that pour down your cheeks no longer out of sadness but instead, out of promise. “Nothing will ever be the same.”
“Good,” Yoongi clipped, turning his back on you for the last time. “Good for me.”
In the grand scheme of things, you realize that when Yoongi left five years ago, he also took the large chunk of your soul that had been shaped over and over again the entire time that he stood by you. He’d gotten his hands on the security and contentment you used to take pride in, weaponizing them against you.
You’re unsure if you have to thank him for that, the uncertainty being on par with the insecurity you had felt when he left you with his truth.
When you visit your mother for her birthday and see Yoongi emerge from your childhood bedroom, hand-in-hand with a toddler that looks like an exact carbon copy of him, you’re unsure of what to do either.
You’re not hysterical in the same way you stood before him when you even considered ripping up his plane ticket, but on the other hand, Yoongi’s inconsolable in the way he flounders before you.
“Y/N,” he says breathless, the lump in his throat even bigger than the tiny fist that grips his hand. “I… I-I didn’t-…” Yoongi tries again, his mouth dry at your appearance. “You came home.”
“I’m only visiting,” you answer, the curt smile on your face that Yoongi recognizes to be the one you’d give to strangers making his blood run cold. “I don’t plan on staying.”
.
.
.
You’re numb if that’s the word for it.
Your chest buzzes emptily the same way your fingers clench around nothing. You look at everywhere and everyone but Yoongi and his son. It’s nauseating to even think that everyone’s eating dinner as if everything’s okay; what’s even more sickening is that somehow, you’re willing to settle for it.
Yoongi is your mom’s cross-stitch project of a teddy bear that she hung up in your room one day when you were in school that you never took off by the time you came home. He’s a dent at the corner of your gate that could’ve only been made by Namjoon when he was practicing his soccer skills. He’s a Snellen chart that nobody really uses, stuck to the side of the refrigerator that you walk past.
Yoongi’s here, there, and everywhere, but you don’t question it. He’s simply there in your orbit and even if he exists, you don’t follow up on him.
You stay quiet at the talks of the sleeping situation because it turns out that Yoongi’s family had long sold their house. You never knew that throughout the several times you came down to visit.
Frankly, you’re relieved to barely know anything about Yoongi these days.
“You and Haneul can take my room,” you half-heartedly offer, not because it’s Yoongi who tugs at your heartstrings and demands your pity, but his child instead. The two, three (?) year-old baby (read: you’re too hesitant to ask what his age is because if it’s anything higher, then that meant Yoongi had moved on earlier than you did) you didn’t even know existed because you’ve completely cut off Yoongi from your life and refused to listen to Namjoon every time he talked about him, will be sleeping in your room; it just happens that he’s with his dad.
Yoongi’s awed at your preposition but he’s even more worried. He can’t tell a single thought that’s going on behind your eyes nor a single hint behind your tone. You’re formal; neutral. You’re detached even when you utter Haneul’s name and gesture them to your bedroom as if he hasn’t spent years and years of his life in your home.
“Where will you sleep?” he furrows his brows, his hand that had been rubbing circles on Haneul’s back faltering.
He’s asking because he doesn’t know anything about you at this point. He can’t tell if it’s the indigestion he has from resisting to talk your ear off at the dining table (like he’s always did when you were young) because you barely even spoke to him, or if it’s the overwhelming feeling of being back home with everything feeling familiar but you — either way, Yoongi thinks he’s gonna be sick.
“I’ll sleep at my mom’s,” you purse your lips, leaving him at that.
Between the yearning, demanding looks you get from Yoongi, the nosy and concerned glances from Namjoon, and even the guilt that you get from keeping all of your emotions from your mom when you used to confide in her religiously when you were younger — you’re drained. The urge to wash off all your anxiety can’t be done in your childhood home’s small bathroom. You can’t with the faulty water heater (you have to keep one finger pressed on the button at all times to keep it running) because you can’t even cry in peace under the either scorching or freezing water.
You can’t evade everything by grabbing a drink from the fridge that runs loudly as if it’s excavating oil from underneath your floors. You can’t curl up on the couch that’s become worn with age because there’s dents of you and Yoongi, the only two people who had sat on it the most every late night for years on end. You can’t romanticize any of the things in your home that have brought you joy all your life at this point in time.
To sleep under the same roof with your mother and brother again after so long feels foreign. It’s a language you can perceive but can’t translate and the frustration that comes with it seeps into your bones. There must be some common ground between the three of you; it should be anything and everything. With Namjoon being a world-renowned football player and you being somewhat accomplished and decorated in your field, you’ve managed to retire your mom early.
The three of you are doing fine. Not one interaction in the past five years has ever felt this tense and unfamiliar, but if you could pick just the odd one out, the very reason why you feel like falling to the floor and crawling your way out of your own home because you feel like you don’t belong to it — it’s Yoongi.
You feel awkward in your own four walls, whereas Yoongi finds your nightlight that you keep tucked in your closet without breaking a sweat.
Namjoon tugs you right when you’re about to call it a day in your mom’s room, his hushed whispers taking you back to when he pleaded for you not to rat them out whenever he and Yoongi crashed at the couch drunk.
“Give them this,” he shoves the can of bug spray into your hands, your immediate reaction making him wrestle with you just to push you closer to your own bedroom.
“No, Joon. You give it.”
“Y/N, no. You give it,” he whines, purposely having given Yoongi extra sheets and blankets earlier without the bug spray so you’d have something to take to him.
“I don’t wanna see Yoongi,” you whisper, trying to pathetically regain your footing even if you know your attempts go futile against an athlete for a brother.
“You think I don’t know that?” he snarks, giving you one last shove with a stern finger. “We’re gonna talk about whatever the hell happened between you and him, but right now, you’re gonna offer him bug spray like the gracious hosts that we are!”
You crash too far to your door that it could be mistaken as a knock, making you hiss because you know you can’t retract it. You actually knock this time, being met with nothing but a quiet Yoongi behind your own door.
Even when he opens it fully, even when it’s your own room — you enter hesitantly.
Yoongi’s already made a home out of your room. He knew where your nightlight was, knew which good extension cord (that didn’t spark every time it shifted) to plug into the wall, and even knew where you kept the magazine that you had to wedge between your windows whenever they didn’t fully close.
“Namjoon told me to give you this,” you put your hand out, looking at everything but Yoongi. You could look at Haneul who’s sprawled in the middle of the bed, but it isn’t any different than looking at his dad himself.
Yoongi, on the other hand, can’t see anything but you. He feels like an intruder who just happened to know the confines of your life almost better than his own, holding bug spray and the remainder of whatever recognition you have left for him.
“Will we ever be alright?” he whispers, not for the sake of keeping Haneul asleep, but for the sake of his sanity. If he makes his voice any louder, he’ll spill all his grievances and question if he had ever meant anything to you.
“We’ve always been alright,” you smile tightly, wrapping your hands around your back.
“You know what I’m talking about,” he pleads, swallowing the lump in his throat. “When did you ever give me bug spray? When did you have to knock on my door, o-or when did you ever have to treat me like I’m some guest and not a huge part of your life?” Yoongi stumbles over his words, correcting himself with a huff. “Most of your life.”
The sarcasm that coats the last of his words makes you twitch, the clench in your jaw being unmistakeable. Yoongi almost forgot what you looked like whenever you argued with him — talked to him, even. “Why are you only bitching about this to me and not to Namjoon? He’s the one who told me to give you the bug spray.”
“This is not about the bug spray!”
“What is it about then? Is this, is this some sort of long-winded euphemism that involves bug spray? What is it Yoongi, are you gonna hound me for an essay about it?” you spit, exhaling heavily. Haneul twitches in his sleep from the corner of your eye. “You grew up and so did I.”
Yoongi flinches like you’ve shot him.
“Don’t do this to me, kid. Don’t do this to us.”
You flinch because anything is better than to have him dig up his old nickname for you as if he’s close; as if he’s still the Yoongi that you chased, as if you’re still the Y/N he looked out for.
“Don’t call me that.”
( ♡ )
Yoongi’s in the kitchen with your mom.
He looks domestic this way, hair tousled and pajamas loose. Even if you have unbridled internet access (courtesy of the high-speed package you split with Namjoon for your mom even if the most she does online is repost motivational quotes, reels of Namjoon and his team, and clips of Jungkook where you’re seen), you can’t muster the courage to search Yoongi’s name and what he’s made of himself.
You’re too scared to search up articles about his success as a producer because if you do, you’re terrified by the thought of accidentally clicking a link that leads you to a page of him and his ex-wife.
You’re too weak to search up the songs he’s had a hand in (that is if you hadn’t heard them before) because you fear that if you even listen for a single second, you might hear how perfect his life has been ever since he left behind everything that he’s ever known.
Even now, you’re too uneasy at the sight of him. He’s in your home and he looks like the version of himself that had never left. The Yoongi in front of you, sitting on your seat at the dining table and peeling tangerines with your mom, resembles the Yoongi that would top off your glass with water whenever you ate with him.
It’s as if you’ve always been in touch for the past five years; it’s as if Yoongi has never aged and you never drifted apart.
“You’re awake,” he remarks, greeting you first before your mom could even register your presence.
“You’re still here,” you reply, the exhale that leaves you making you deflate in reflection. Breakfast isn’t ready yet, but Yoongi’s already slid over a plate to you.
“There. Just how you like them.”
There’s tangerines with barely any pith on them, and iced tea that had more ice cubes in them than there are in the freezer.
Yoongi smiles at you like you’re the old you again; the one who is more forgiving, and the one who is more hopeful.
( ♡ )
If it wasn’t for your brother guilt-tripping you into joining the impromptu road trip, you never would have come.
You didn’t want to come with them in the first place because the very thought of hanging out with Namjoon and Yoongi like old times, this time with the addition of the latter’s son, was too close; too familial. The three already knew each other and had kept in touch and you’re the odd one out. You’re the only planet out of the system and once you’ve come to think of it, that bit of their galaxy never failed. Whether you were in it or not didn’t matter — atleast that’s what you thought.
Yoongi got everything he ever wanted and you’ve heard nothing about it.
You blocked his number and on every social media account he had to his name. Even with Namjoon as a prominent variable, you’re amazed to how you’ve heard little to nothing about Yoongi ever since he left your hometown. You still talked to your brother, of course, but there was an obvious difference to how your conversations went because none of them ever went to Yoongi.
You didn’t tell him to not talk about Yoongi at all. You didn’t instruct him to never utter a single word about his closest friend whom you also grew up with. You never told Namjoon anything concerning Yoongi and what unfolded between the two of you before you left, and yet, it’s almost as if he had already been in your mind and knew exactly what to do.
You’ve come to realize that the prospect of growing up never used to be in your cards. The whole concept of it sat at the very back of your mind, the only times you used to pay attention to it being whenever Yoongi picked at your brain.
You thought your world would have ended when you were 19. You didn’t think you would grow up and see past high school. You didn’t think you would finish college, much less pick a degree to pursue in the first place. You didn’t think of having a future — you didn’t think you’d be living it now in this way.
“Joon,” you mutter, voice barely being heard at the expanse of the balcony you’re in. It’s his balcony in his vacation house he barely stays in, overlooking the waves by the beach he isn’t even that fond of to begin with.
Yoongi and Haneul are already asleep, the father-son duo knocking out way ahead than everyone else. They stayed with the two of you in the balcony hours ago, the bug spray in both the adult and kid edition being proof of it.
Tonight, alone, felt different. It’s as if the younger version of you was gazing out to what was supposed to be your future, except neither the past nor present variant of you could have ever had it for yourself.
“Hm?” he hums, sipping the last of his drink while he’s sat at the far end. You know about each other’s presence, and while years ago, the two of you would’ve been giddy staying in a house as grand as this whilst drinking behind your mom’s back, you and Namjoon grew up. You didn’t fight or anything — you simply grew up and grew apart.
“I never said it before, but thank you,” you exhale, clenching Haneul’s towel as you try to warm your hands. You may have spent the better part of the day not even acknowledging his dad, but you did fawn over him like you would with any other child. “Thank you for not telling me a thing about Yoongi.”
“You’re welcome,” Namjoon finally speaks as soon as he grasps what you were talking about, the smile on his face only lasting for a second. “If it were up to me though, I would have told you everything.”
“Good thing it’s not up to you, hm?” you laugh uneasily, running your hand through your hair. You didn’t know how much you had to be grateful for until Yoongi came back and reminded you of how little you knew about him.
Namjoon breathlessly laughs, looking up at the sky to try and condense everything that has happened through his words before you leave again. “I would have told you that he confessed what happened that time you ran away from home a couple years back, and I beat his ass. We didn’t talk for like, I don’t know, three months? Even when I was still training in the US that time.”
Your lack of a reply is what makes him take notice, the stunned look you have on your face making him snort.
“What?” he questions, eyebrows furrowed as he throws a stray bottle cap at you. “Why are you so shocked? I love him like a brother, but you’re my actual sister,” he confides his loyalty to you, yet you don’t even have a second to express your awe before he opens his mouth again. “I would have told you that I became the best man at his wedding. Even mom was there.”
“You can stop telling me these things now.”
Namjoon exhales, already feeling deep in his chest that you’re gearing up to leave. He wants to get the last word in, not to prove himself, but to try and vindicate you and the quiet suffering you endured without telling anyone.
“I would have told you that Yoongi kept trying to come back to you.”
( ♡ )
Haneul wakes up before Yoongi does.
You’re confused for a second because the moment you hear the lightest footsteps that you ever could pad along the kitchen, you become completely disoriented. There’s a child that looks like Yoongi, wandering off to where you are.
For the briefest second, your heart drops because the whole situation resembles a vignette. In another lifetime, it could’ve been your child, your Haneul, waking up before his dad, trudging to the kitchen where you are is if you’re his mom.
He’s an observant kid, far too trusting unlike his dad who used to scold you to hell and back for even entertaining strangers that asked you for directions. He’s friendly to you; to someone Yoongi had introduced as appa’s close friend. There isn’t even a single hint in how he introduced you to Haneul that the two of you stopped being close. Yoongi didn’t leave the faintest indicator to him that you most probably hated his guts and would probably choose a lifetime where he hadn’t even been in your life at all.
Haneul is innocent to yours and Yoongi’s history and it’s going to stay that way. You don’t meant to change whatever he introduced you as because by the time your mom’s birthday week is over, or by the time Yoongi takes the hint and leaves your hometown again, you would be a fleeting persona in Haneul’s life.
You’re not his mom. You’re not anyone of significance to either him and his dad.
“Good morning,” he greets shyly, his diction telling of how just attentive Yoongi is as a dad. You mostly listened to whatever Namjoon told you last night anyway, tuning out the parts where he rounded to how Yoongi had been miserable not having any contact with you (you don’t believe that at all), and instead zeroing in on the large details that you’ve missed. “Auntie.”
You smile tightly, patting the empty seat beside to you to which he climbs effortlessly.
Haneul doesn’t know you, but you do know him. You know that his dad is a doting, slightly paranoid one whose current dilemma is whether or not enrolling him in kindergarten early or waiting for one more year. You know that Yoongi doesn’t want him to know about the existence of iPads for probably ever, so he spends almost every waking moment talking to him to the point that Haneul’s eloquent at speaking for his age. You also know that Namjoon’s his godfather, and that he had looked after him for a whole day by himself when Yoongi went to settle his divorce.
Haneul doesn’t know you, but you know his parents. You know Yoongi is his dad, and more importantly, that Hyewon is his mom — the same Hyewon who had been with him in your room before, and the same woman Yoongi shared his success with when he made it big.
“Hi,” you greet him softly, handing him his bottle for him to drink from. It’s a warm, domestic vignette for a split second. You’ve watched Yoongi far too many times at the corner of your eye to know where he gets the distilled water. “Why are you up already?”
“Uncle Joonie promised yesterday we can watch the sunrise together,” he says in between sips, letting you comb his hair into order unconsciously. You didn’t even think of it before your hand sweeps the strands scattered on his forehead, the hum you have at the back of your throat pausing when you realized what you’ve done.
“He’s still sleeping right now. He had uh, a long night,” you mutter, at a loss for a child-friendly alternative word for hangover. You keep your hands to yourself because you fear falling into the domesticity that isn’t yours to relax into; if you think about it for a second longer, you’d think that Haneul is yours and Yoongi is the final piece to your puzzle.
“Oh. But I, I wanna watch,” Haneul frowns, brows softly furrowed at your revelation. He’s not close to throwing a tantrum, but the upset expression on his face keeps tugging at your heart to cave.
“You can take your dad with you,” you offer, willing to knock on Yoongi’s door if it meant his son smiling again.
Haneul shakes his head at that, looking up at the ceiling as he recalls the events of last night before being tucked in. “Nuh-uh. Appa had a long night too. He just kept crying.”
A part of you wishes that Haneul didn’t speak so clearly.
“What?” you clarify, heart skipping a beat the more you replay his words in your head.
“Crying?” Haneul repeats, tilting his head as he tries to figure you out. He says it again for a third time as if you needed any clarification of the word and not because of your disbelief that his dad was capable of it. “Like this,” he adds, pretending to bawl with his hands wiping at his eyes.
The scene before you is your brief moment of reprieve, making you chuckle breathlessly as you try to regain your senses. Whether or not Haneul was sure of what he was saying, if Yoongi had cried, it’s most probably not because of anything that has to do with you.
“Oh. So that’s what it means. Thank you, Haneul,” you laugh lowly, patting him on the head until you retract your hand again in realization.
Haneul thinks nothing of your trepidation; he thinks nothing of the yearning behind your eyes, and thinks nothing of the tremble in your voice.
“Can we watch the sunrise together?” he asks, eyes looking up at you as if doing so would be the equivalent of hanging the stars up for him in the sky.
(Read: it probably is, and in another lifetime, or in the far-shot that it happens in this one, you’d do it if he asks you to do so.)
You want to ask Haneul why it’s you who he wants to accompany him, but you don’t. You can wake up either Yoongi and Namjoon to go with him instead, but you won’t.
In another lifetime, this would have been your son, your Haneul asking to watch the sunrise with you. There’s a Yoongi-shaped hole and a Haneul-shaped vacancy in your chest, but you don’t prod about it further.
You don’t question what’s happening, and maybe, just maybe, there’s a tiny part of you that wants to fully accept it instead of hesitating to do so.
“Okay.”
Haneul puts his hand in yours, but you don’t pull away. You just hold him tighter.
( ♡ )
A large part of you forgot that for as long as Yoongi’s here, he’ll treat every interaction you have with Namjoon as an open invitation for him. He had always been this way; for as long as you could remember, he’ll include himself even if he isn’t needed nor wanted.
You can’t count the amount of times your mom had berated Namjoon for something and oddly enough, Yoongi also happened to be there. Whether it was to rat out on his own best friend or being at the receiving end of said scolding, Yoongi jumped at every opportunity to come along as a package deal.
When you asked Namjoon to drink with you at the balcony two days ago, Yoongi butted in and asked what brand of alcohol he should buy you at the convenience store. When you were on the way home and asked your brother what he wanted from the rest stop, Yoongi said he wanted the biggest can of coffee you could find.
And when you asked Namjoon what time you should come to the stadium to watch him practice, Yoongi said he’ll pack you an extra cap while Haneul bonded with your mom.
Sometime long ago, you and Yoongi saw each other eye to eye. You can’t determine when and how exactly, but there was a point in your life where everything you had to say to each other was what the other was thinking all along. Nowadays, you can’t even look at Yoongi in the eye while all he wanted was for you to return his gaze.
If there’s just one thing though, one single variable that remained unchanged between the two of you, it would be Namjoon.
The way Yoongi engages you in conversation this time around is not to trap you and to ramp himself up to apologize again, but purely, it’s to talk about your brother. Namjoon’s a lot of things, and one thing you pray would remain unchanged is the love you have for each other.
“Who would have thought, right?” Yoongi nudges, asking you sincerely. “Who would have thought that the Namjoon who had knockoff cleats years ago would become this world-famous athlete?” he chuckles, shaking his head as he once again tries to digest the fact that this very stadium in your hometown had been built and refashioned in his honor.
You laugh genuinely, the sound being the first he’s ever heard in such a long time.
“Abibas.”
Yoongi has his lips parted, shocked that you were even answering him.
“Abibas. That was the brand of his knockoff cleats,” you chuckle, bowing your head as you try to contain your laughter. “He could’ve bought the original with his allowance and everything, but he split it so he could also buy me knockoffs.”
Yoongi laughs at the memory you jog up in his mind, remembering distinctly how Namjoon kept asking for his opinion repeatedly on which colorway of the knockoff pair he should gift you.
Even if things are still tense between you, even if Namjoon is the only salvation that Yoongi could bring up in a conversation to which you don’t run from, nothing from the past five years could ever take this moment away from you.
The three of you have grown up. Some faster than they’d like, and some because they had no choice but to — nonetheless, in this moment, it’s the three of you back at home like it used to be.
“Namjoon was always meant for greatness. Even from the start,” you murmur, your attention waiting on Yoongi’s response even if your eyes were on Namjoon in the field.
“You are too,” he interjects quickly, voice defensive at the lack of your name to your own sentence.
“No I’m not,” you snort, crossing your arms. You’re not angry when you say it; in fact, you’re calm as if you’ve always seen it coming. “You told me I’d amount to nothing.”
You’re calm, seemingly at peace with what you just said and what Yoongi had ingrained in your head before, but he’s the furthest thing from it. His mouth hangs open, chest tightening impossibly as he shakes his head eagerly.
“I never said that!”
You’re about to counter him when you hear a familiar holler reach you at the lower section of the bleachers, eyes perking to see a familiar figure who isn’t blood-related to you.
“Y/N!” Jimin runs up to you faster than to whenever he passes the ball to Namjoon, engulfing you in a massive hug that forces you up to your feet before you know it.
“Oh my god, Jimin! I didn’t know you were gonna be here!” you awe at the sight of him, unwilling to break away from the embrace until he does so. It’s been ages since you’ve seen him, the second-best player in the team (you’re biased because of course Namjoon had been the best player to you since you were kids) being the closest member to you out of everyone.
Jimin doesn’t care for Yoongi. He knows of the guy and he doesn’t want to know any more than he already does. He doesn’t even acknowledge the guy’s presence; all he does is squeeze you tighter and twirl you briefly in his arms.
“Fuck, me neither. Heaven must’ve healed my ankle quicker so I could come here and see you,” he flirts playfully, earning a well-deserved eye roll from you.
“And you know, play for Korea.”
“Eh. That too, I guess,” he shrugs, sitting at the seat beside you. He looks straight at you and only you — Jimin only pauses to snort to himself when he notices that Yoongi’s squirming in his seat, beyond annoyed and frustrated.
( ♡ )
On the fifth day of Yoongi staying over at your house, there’s a power outage.
The sound of everything shutting off together in sync makes you jolt, the collective groan you hear outside from the neighborhood comforting you in solidarity.
You can only make out a grunt from Namjoon and a gasp from your mom until you hear the trembling voice of Haneul, the sound of a cry that crawls up his throat putting everyone on their feet.
“Oh baby, it’s okay, it’s okay! It’s just a little dark, that’s all,” Yoongi pipes up instantly, scooping him up in his arms without having to fumble for where he is because he could practically locate his son in his sleep.
You didn’t want for it to be a power outage, but oddly enough, you feel sorry that it happened while you’re here. “It’s okay, Haneul,” you whisper as consolation, the dark of the night shielding you from how Yoongi’s eyes widen at your cooing for his son. “Mom, where did you put that generator I got you?”
“About that,” she sheepishly shrugs, turning on her phone to illuminate her shyness. “I donated it last year to the public school nearby.”
“It’s gonna get so hot,” Namjoon groans, the sound of him clumsily feeling around for the lights alerting Haneul briefly. He comforts him instantly, finally turning on the torch in his phone instead of relying on his instincts. “Don’t cry, Haneul, alright? Uncle Joonie’s gonna get the candles and the flashlights.”
“I’ll go try to find a guy,” you get up as soon as Namjoon hands you a flashlight, your contribution to help instantly being shut down.
“You can’t just try to find a guy, Y/N. That’s dangerous,” Yoongi scoffs, putting a hand on your forearm to pull you.
“I meant on my phone, Yoongi,” you grit. “I was gonna go outside to try and look for a signal.”
“That’s still dangerous,” he narrows his eyes at you as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
“Give me a break,” you mutter, removing his hold from you. You’d save your pride and actually go outside if not for your mom interjecting that she knows an electrician from her contacts.
Namjoon comes back after his quest for battery-powered fans and flashlights, unaware of how Yoongi’s protective streak for you practically never disappeared; in fact, it came back twofold. “Whole neighborhood’s out. Must be a broken transformer or something.”
Your mom consoles Haneul in her arms.
Namjoon waits by the gate for the electrician.
You and Yoongi clean the fridge up before anything spoils.
In between getting food out and embracing Haneul every now and then who insisted on obediently sitting atop the counter so he’s closer to his dad, Yoongi holds your hand.
“That’s my hand that you’re holding,” you murmur, assuming that he had mistaken yours for Haneul’s as he’s always chuckled how yours always seemed to be small against his.
Yoongi only hums.
“I know.”
( ♡ )
You’re falling back into your old routine.
Maybe it’s how your mom has to shake you awake because otherwise, you’d sleep through the afternoon and would therefore be unable to sleep through the night. On the other hand, it could be Namjoon who either hounds you to hang out with him or tell you off for clinging to him too much.
Maybe, it’s just Yoongi. It’s him who’s tricking your brain into thinking that has nothing changed with the way he keeps peeling fruits for you and telling you to be safe even if you’re only buying ice cream from the convenience store.
It’s only been a week and a half of almost normalcy, save for the fact that there are certain things and connections you can neither reverse nor rekindle.
You’re convinced, almost fully convinced that history is repeating itself except for the bitter, ugly parts of it that you never want to pop in your head again.
Like the past, Namjoon blocks you for whatever reason in his head but this time he does it to you while you’re on the way to your room, on the quest to retrieve your charger for your phone that you barely even used for work purposes.
“It’s my room. Why can’t I go in my room?” you furrow your brows at him, your amusement turning into annoyance the more that Namjoon pushed you with actual strength instead of playfulness.
“Are you hungry? Let’s go out for dinner,” he changes the subject quickly, turning you towards the stairs.
You shouldn’t have questioned him further — you should’ve left it at that.
“I guess? I’ll just get my purse,” you concede, dodging his attempts to haul you downstairs.
“I’ll pay,” Namjoon insists and although it’s not out of the blue for him, his franticness is what keeps you on edge.
“I still need my-…” you counter, being interrupted when he holds you firmly as you attempt to walk towards your door. Namjoon grips you with a silent plead, one that you can’t even decipher. “What the fuck is going on with you?”
You finally break off his grip at once, walking into your room with a renowned determination.
It’s not only your routine that falls back into place, but it’s your whole worldview that does.
Love is terribly human. It’s a loose thread on your shirt that gets snagged on your doorknob. It’s a coat in your closet waiting to be worn for the supposed perfect time, and when you do, you realize that it no longer fits you.
Love is terribly human, and it is terribly Yoongi, Hyewon, and Haneul.
Love is terribly human and fragile, and it’s Yoongi, Hyewon, and their son sleeping on your bed.

PLEASE DO NOT HARASS THIS PERSON.
I'm genuinely tired of HB/HH/Vivziepop stans putting words into my mouth.
"You literally hate everything about the show"
Fyi, I didn't hate the premise. I also don't hate: 1) The animation; 2) The voice acting; 3) The potential the show had, and hopefully still has, since it will apparently have at least four seasons.
But ever since HB went from being about the misadventures of assassins in Hell, into a romance drama between two characters who are clearly toxic for each other, that's when I started hating the plot. The third point you made is true, I do hate the plot, and I will continue to do so, unless all this focus on an abusive gay ship (Stolitz) shifts back to what got me and a lot of other people into the show in the first place. And no, I'm not going to stop being vocal about it just because someone else told me to. You're on the internet buddy, learn to accept the fact that not everyone will have the same opinions as you.
And that's really NOT something to get worked up about.
"Just stop watching it if you are this upset about all of this"
Maybe you should stop going into the critical tag if you know that what you're gonna find there will upset you. Just a thought.
And if you've come across my post by searching "blitzo" "moxxie" "millie" or "loona," all you had to do was read the very first sentence I wrote (having to do about my issues with the latest episode) and click off my post because clearly criticism of your beloved show triggers you. And no, I won't stop tagging the characters like this even if I have something negative to say about them. This perfectly explains as to why:

"You hate the main character"
Which one? If you mean Blitzø, then no. I don't hate him. I literally said it in the tags.
But if you mean Stolas, then yeah, I hate him. So what?
"You hate most of the characters in general"
If by most characters you mean Stolas, then yes, I do.
But uh... I don't hate any other character aside from maybe Loona? She's written so inconsistently. There's no real development when it comes to Loona. She acts like a huge bitch and a spoiled brat despite receiving love from her dad for five years straight. She is a grown ass woman who kicked Blitzø in the balls after telling Octavia that Stolas is "trying his best" when he clearly wasn't. She physically abused Blitzø just because he called her out RIGHTFULLY, remind me why she didn't beat the shit out of him again in the latest episode after Blitzø wanted her to overwork herself AND didn't pay her for a month?
Oh and there's also the time Loona cheered for Blitzø, tucked him in and called him dad. Why is she abusive towards him in the very next episode?
That's the inconsistency I'm talking about.
As for the other main characters:
I genuinely relate to Octavia. And I feel sorry for her. Enough said.
I don't care about Millie. It's too little too late for that.
I'm not sure how to feel about Moxxie. Where is his character arc even going? What is his character arc? Learning to stand up for himself for the millionth fucking time?
Stella is a wasted character whose only purpose is making Stolas seem "innocent." I hate what the writers did to her.
Also yes, I dislike Viv for reasons that are 100% valid and available to the public, so I'm not making stuff up.

Alright not to like liveblog my breakdown on main but yesterday was a really bad day after a really bad, like, 4 months, and I've hit a bit of a breaking point and one of the only things in my life that can give is running @mdzsartreblogs , @tgcfartreblogs , @svsssartreblogs , @erhaartreblogs , @tykartreblogs , and @cnovelartreblogs , so that is what has to give. It's been a 99-out-of-100 days thankless job. A small number of people do say thank you and yall I appreciate you so much (HUGE shout-out to the artist I met at Flamecon who gifted me a zine when I said I ran these blogs, @bonesblubs you rock) but I have never done an act of fandom labor simultaneously this labor intensive yet this invisible before and, uh. It sucks. I spend an hour or more a day on this every day, if it's under 2k hours since I started the first of these in September 2020 I'd be shocked. And I do it because I love it but doing it means I don't have time or energy to do other things I love. And I really don't want to just quit, but I can't keep this up.
In a last-ditch effort to try not to just give up, I'm making the following changes:
1. Only watching one tag per fandom for the MXTX fandoms. I am going to check *only* #tgcf, #svsss, and #mdzs. Artwork posted to any other tag, I will not see unless a mutual reblogs it.
2. Reduced tagging (even more). I'm only going to tag characters and maybe overarching au type (eg, "modern au," "fantasy au"). I'll no longer tag creatures. I will continue to tag the same common trigger warnings I already tag.
3. If a work's appearance doesn't make it obvious what it is AND the tags aren't clear, I'm not going to reblog. I can't keep spending 5 minutes or more trying to figure out what I'm even looking at, scared that if I guess wrong the artist will get mad at me for mistagging their work. If I do reblog, I'll tag only the artist name and/or whatever else I can identify for sure.
4. I am no longer going to follow #link click. The fandom is just too big. I've started dreading checking it. If I was more into it and less busy I would make another spin off just for it but neither of those is true. (The art is so good, I hate to do this, but. If you love link click, highly recommend the main tag, lots of great stuff there.)
5. I will no longer tag any non-cnovel content in the art/post. Like, if someone draws, idek, Xie Lian and Marinette from Ladybug, I'm not gonna put any tags for Marinette, just for Xie Lian.
6. Basically if I run into something hard to tag or confusing or unclear, my new policy is I'm not gonna fricken bother.
I think those are everything but idefk, I cried for 3 hours last night and got 4 hours of sleep so I'm mostly fueled by exhaustion and desperation right now and my memory is even more fried than usual.
How artists can help. This is obviously all optional. You do you. But since some people might want to know what would make my life easier, I'm sharing. I'm not claiming I feel entitled to dictate how people fandom or anything like that.
1. Put the tags for the character(s) and ship(s) early in the tag list.
2. If you make art for a fandom that isn't one of the big ones (right now the only big danmei fandoms on tumblr as far as I can tell are the MXTX fandoms and maybe 2ha) I am begging you to use my tracked tag #cnovelartreblogs
3. Do mdzs art? Tag #mdzs. Do tgcf art? Tag #tgcf. Do svsss art? Tag #svsss.
4. Not only artists, but everyone, *please* stop tagging fandoms not discussed and/or depicted in your post. It's gotten to be stupid common for people to blanket the danmei fandom tags with posts only about one fandon (like, svsss-only works also being tagged mdzs and tgcf and 2ha for some damn reason). This isn't about just my sideblogs tbh this is just fandom etiquette that seems to have been forgotten or never learned by many. Tagging unrelated fandoms isn't "reach," it's annoying. People go into the #mdzs tag to see mdzs, not whatever not-mdzs stuff people have decided to tag for ~reach~, and seeing the same post in 8 tags, none of which it's related to, is so damn irritating, and makes scrolling the tags looking for content that IS relevant take that much longer. Knock it off.
Okay. I think that's as much as I'm prepared to meltdown where everyone can see. Thanks in advance everyone for your understanding, and apologies to everyone about to see this 8 times as I reblog it to each sideblog.
At least I'm not tagging it to everywhere. 🤣🤣🤣

The Nation Where Chocolate Melts the Fastest | React | Days 6-11
Wow so this month went by so damn fast??? But I mean...I guess February usually does anyway right?
So as I said in my audio react here for the first half, I was gonna write about the second part! I'm going to try my best to keep it just limited to this post only as for whatever reason, my posts keep getting yeeted off the main whb tag? Maybe it's because I haven't been posting lately so maybe that's why but at the same time it could just be tumblr being tumblr.
ANYWAYS quick recap ->
🖤Amon, MC, and Naberius are in Abaddon right now on a mission to meet the Abaddon nobles during their travels Nabe is going over every single rule and incident that has been caused by these powerful two in the first place. 🖤We find out that MC accepting chocolates in Hell during valentines day means they are pretty much down for whatever, sex mostly 🖤We go over the 3 'Hole' incidents, the first one which wasn't properly recorded, the second one caused by Dantalian causing trouble in Heaven, and then the third from Belphie ripping off Ronove's eye mask causing him to multiply
Now here we are to the second half of the event
SUMMARY TIME
🖤So as we learned in the past 5 days, Dantalian has a kink where loves to be injured, damaged, possibly killed, you name it while Ronove brings that desire forth by influencing others to cause harm. So when Ronove multiples, this means...that everyone is affected at the same time. Including angels. This is why him multiplying into 100s and 1000s of himself is problematic. Everyone would basically die.
🖤Once Ronove's desires are satisfied, his clones will start to disappear but he multiples so fast it's pretty much impossible to keep up with said clones. This isn't like Beel's clones at all or his flies. This is pure chaos.
🖤The only reason that everything is chill, is because of Dantalian believe it or not! He prevented the 3rd Hole incident from annihilating both Heaven and Hell in the first place.
🖤A cute thing to mention btw is that MC had Amon eat some of his own chocolate which he decided "oh it's the chocolate you're giving me right? to basically say they're giving him chocolates back. Nabe gets jealous but doesn't show it, and MC ends up giving him some chocolate too. Cuties.
🖤So back to the reason that Dantalian stopped Ronove is because his desire cancels out Ronove's. Because of the desire to torture Dan, all of his clones came back and everyone was able to put Ro's eyemask back on. The law now is that Dantalian must always accompany Ronove in battles and vise versa. To prevent such things from happening.
🖤So we get to see the front of Asmo's castle and it's pretty fucking big. Also, Ronove is there to greet them as their own personal escort! He mentions..."it's been a while" further confirming that the card stories are canon because the first time we saw Ro was in Satan's Torture card.
🖤I love btw how Nabe is on guard dog mode this entire time
🖤So to get through the gates, it takes a fucking hour to do so. Ronove knows the way and is attacked by wet papers that will suffocate him if he doesn't recite all the names to prove he has access inside the castle. So yeah, my ass would definitely be taking that nap with Amon lmao
🖤Also what I don't like about even though the card stories seem to be canon within one another, MC apparently forgets certain details. Such as being worried that Ronove not being able to breathe for an hour when he can go days and weeks when his power of speech is used for spells.
🖤So now we're inside the "red cage!" it's empty too as all of the devils inside are off either making something or doing small activities and missions assigned by Asmo.
🖤There's four floors in total, the more important the devil the higher up. Meaning Asmo's room is at the very top if we had to guess and devils like Ronove and Dantalian are on the third floor. We also meet some guards along the way, and it appears that each interact with Ronove differently. One was slightly intimidated and the Second floor guard was annoyed, and he looks familiar btw...the same guard that was watching over Zepar when he came to help MC be disguised as a lower rank angel in Levi's Torture card (the silhouette is the same)
🖤So because MC is the descendant of Solomon...they are being escorted through the shortcut the same as the kings would use. Now I imagine regular degular folks like ourselves would probably take years to get through just one floor.
🖤So on the second floor we run into Seere, and if anyone remembers I believe that is the exact same devil Levi asked for a spell/talisman something like that to help him infiltrate MC's dream for his School Uniform card. But basically Seere just tried to jigglypuff his way to MC's dreams with a song lmao
🖤That's over and done with though, Ronove pretty much just kicking "red flesh???" (what was he just crumpled into a ball on the floor?) and stopping Seere from singing anyways
🖤So we're now on the third floor. There's no guard and we meet Dantalian, who gets slapped by MC immediately (i'm pretty sure he influenced that lmao)
🖤So as MC witnesses Dan's influence is strong...and he's very pissed off that Ronove interferes with that such as stopping him from self-harming but also I'm sure he keeps Ronove in check too
🖤We also see that Ronove and Dantalian go hand in hand. and now they seem to be targetting MC since they are the guest of the hour. And Nabe thinks they're up to something so he starts quoting the big ass rule book at them (he's such a class president lmao)
🖤It turns out though that MC was never in any danger, Ronove and Dan were just gonna give them chocolates 💀 so there he is jumping the gun again (but I mean from what he said could happen I do get it but yeah he gotta chill)
🖤And the chocolate gesture is the same! Back when Solomon was alive, it also appeared to be the same traditions but also it seems that giving chocolates to Solomon was never that important to begin with, just something to do if a devil felt like it. For Ro and Dan they did it because they got something out of it. IN this case the desire. Dan got choked out while the chocolate melted on his tongue and Ro was being bitten while Solomon ate said chocolate at the same time so yah grandaddy a freak.
🖤MC didn't really have anything to give them, but that's interrupted anyways by Asmo showin' up out of the blue and he's sending Ro and Dan on a mission but wants to know if MC is down for V-day activities before or after they get back. Nabe says after but I think he's tryna buy some time lol
🖤Asmo is being his flirty self btw with MC, feeding them the chocolates Ro and Dan presented and being like "let's wait for them to get back *wink wink* and I'm like yeah there ain't gonna be no type of waitin' with him around 💀
🖤Also I like how we get to see how he handles his nobles. He handles them affectionately but while being firm and they just melt against him, naturally like I would expect that.
🖤And that's how everything ends! That's it.

I just wanna mention Amon has been so clingy and snuggly the entire time and I'm loving this. I'm also glad we get to see more of of the Abyssos boys <3
Yes bby, please eat 😩
See I ain't the only one who was like okay are those pants or leggings? they look so tight lmaooo but they have pockets (so do leggings sometimes)
I feel this whole thing has been me showin' ya'll Amon 💀 but a nap date? Yes
This was wild lmao he had to sit up there for an hour dealing with this shit I would have just let the papers take me I can't
Oh MC...boy fucking howdy do I know that feeling...in fact I'm hoping they just keep fucking moving and leave me the hell alone 💀
Amon being cute again for the 1000th time
MC slapped the fuck outta him and he's just there wanting more.
Ronove says "here lemme help" 😭
Nabe and Amon fightin' for their life because they simply just do not wanna fuck around and find out lmao

oh so we're just out here poppin' people's bones back in place like it's nothing alrighty
Dan: Omfg let me be toxic to myself wow Ro: Just doin' my job, sweetie
Omfg we in Asmo's castle, tryna focus and shit and Nabe and Amon already tried clappin' cheeks and now we have two other devils glancing this way like they need to stop teasing the threesome shit and just do ittttttt /hj
LMAO this had me want to bully him a bit and be like "ha okay nerd, teacher's pet" which that other phrase he might actually be like "uh???"
This is so pretty, I don't think I'd want to eat it 😭😭
He'd escape prison just to see you. Remember that when lookin' for a ride or die devil to have by your side 😌🙌
I can hear him rn...lmao he's so angry he doesn't even like to be called cute lmaoooo
Me when his ass showed up outta nowhere lmao
Ooo what we doin' bae? All of the above? Great let me take my nap now since this is gonna be a marathon
He's so affectionate. This is a much softer side of him for once since he's debuted in WHB. Still very horny but at least we're like awh he's so gentle
Lmaoooooooo idk why this had me rollin' maybe it's because I'm like "wait did you not pick up on the obvious queues and piece it together after learning from Amon and Nabe what accepting chocolate means?" 💀lawd somebody help MC.
❤🖤❤🖤❤🖤❤🖤
And here we are at the end of the react! So this event...I personally liked it more toward the end. Sure we learned about Ronove and Dantalian here but it was mostly just Nabe telling the stories and us getting a short time to observe their behaviors in person. I guess I'm saying this event aside from the lore is pretty unremarkable.
But it also seems like it ties in with the upcoming card of Ro and Dan together! Maybe. But last time I checked S+ cards didn't have stories (other than Raphael's card...but we'll see)
I just know a group orgy happened when they returned /j
So yes, thank ya'll so much for sticking through this and enjoy my stufff. Again I know the first react that was audio was a bit b l a h but that's how I felt about that first part anyway. Not really worth spending my time writing about and adding like reaction gifs other what I showed in the video
I still have more things to catch up on! So I'm hoping to be done with all of it before the new card comes out. Until y'all, much love for the lovelies, your admin Jaze (✿◡‿◡)

Gareth is the baby of the group, always has been, always will be. He's a year younger than Jeff and Frankie, and four years younger than Eddie. He was behind in everything, but it just was how it was.
He was a drummer and they needed one. The fact that he was the best drummer in a 100 mile radius helped.
But because of them hitting the ground running the moment he graduated, he didn't really get to have much of a regular young adult life.
He didn't really have much of a rockstar one either.
He had three extremely overprotective big brothers constantly by his side making sure he didn't do anything dumb, but they also made sure he didn't do anything at all.
"Promised your mom we would watch out for you," Jeff said.
"Last thing we need is you getting involved with some girl and ruining the band," Frankie said.
"Don't rush it, man," Eddie said.
But Gareth was now 20 years old and had never even kissed a girl. Or a boy, he didn't know what he was into. How could he? None of them would leave him alone long enough in the bars he was technically too young to get into to try.
Tonight. He would find a way to shake them tonight. He'd find a girl in the crowd, he'd buy her a drink, and he'd hope that she'd at least be willing to check this one thing off his list.
If he was gonna be a rockstar, he should get to kiss someone.
They were playing a smaller venue tonight, opening for a band that was bigger than them in theory, but not in talent. Story of their lives.
Hopefully, everyone would be distracted by the main act to not pay attention if he slipped off.
He was dripping sweat, cursing the fact that these small venues never had decent ventilation or fans for them to cool off, and the stage lights were always too close, building up a furnace on the stage.
His drums were packed, his shirt rolled up to help him cool off the best he could while he sipped on water. He hadn't even gotten a beer tonight, a nervous flutter in his stomach that he didn't want to make worse with feeling bloated from the combination of hops and heat.
"Gare!" Jeff's voice interrupted his walk towards the bar.
Dammit.
"You wanna head out? We're all so fuckin' hot."
"Yeah, yeah, let me just grab another water. Feeling kinda lightheaded."
That was definitely not the right thing to say. Jeff's mouth turned down in a concerned frown.
"Well, let's get you outside then. You need some fresh air. Eddie!" Eddie yelled back in acknowledgement. "Get Gareth a water!"
"I'm okay, I can get it." He argued, desperate to let his plan work. "You guys head out, be there in a few."
"Like hell am I leaving you alone when you're not feeling good," Jeff wrapped his arm around his shoulders and started pulling him towards the door. "You gotta speak up sooner."
"Jeff. Please."
Something in his voice must have alerted Jeff to the seriousness of his plan because he quickly pulled his arm away.
"What's going on?"
"I just need to be alone for a bit. Please?" Gareth wasn't afraid to pull out the pout. The pout worked on his mom every time. It had to work now, too. "Just for a little bit?"
Jeff searched his face, probably trying to see if there was something he should be worried about.
"I'll distract them for 15 minutes. But that's all I can guarantee," he finally agreed. "Whatever it is you're planning, please be safe. Please."
"What the hell could I possibly get up to in 15 minutes?"
Jeff sighed. "Don't ever ask that question to Eddie or Frankie."
He walked away and Gareth watched as he convinced them both to walk outside, probably to get some fresh air. He probably didn't have to be that convincing.
God, it was so hot.
The bar area of the venue was crowded, a lot of people taking the break between sets to throw back a shot or chug a beer. He genuinely did just need a water, so he forced his way through the people and got the attention of the bartender.
"Not a fan of beer?" A woman in a black dress and leather jacket asked him. She was smiling, sipping on something that could be water, might be a vodka tonic. The lighting wasn't good enough to see bubbles.
"Not a fan of being hot," Gareth smiled.
"Awful confident of you."
Oh. Oh shit. Was she flirting with him?
"Trying something new tonight, I guess."
"Oh? Anything in particular?"
Gareth liked her smile, her eyes. She seemed a few years older than him, closer to Eddie's age.
"Well…I've never actually kissed anyone before," Gareth figured honesty was the best policy.
"Never?" She didn't believe him, but that was okay. She'd figure it out if she let him make a move.
"Never."
"Let's give it a go then."
So he did.
She leaned in, closed her eyes, and he was having his first kiss. He didn't know her name, he was surrounded by hundreds of people, and he was certain that stars were exploding behind his eyes.
She pulled away after a few seconds, smiling, winking, and walked away.
"Damn, she didn't even give you a name?" A guy to Gareth's left asked, watching as she walked away.
Gareth shook his head. "Didn't need it."
The guy touched his arm and smiled at him, much like the woman had before.
"I'm Evan. You're the drummer, right?"
"Sure am."
"You wanna have a kiss with someone you know the name of?" Evan asked.
Gareth wasn't about to pass up this opportunity, so he nodded.
When Evan kissed him, he saw fireworks.
Stars and fireworks.
"Wanna come outside?" Evan asked.
Gareth shook his head.
Firsts and seconds were enough for now.

You are denying the existence of romance in wbk by saying" there's over 160 chapters and there's no set up" where's the same energy for Sakura's backstory?? There's over 160 chapters and there's no mc backstory!
Alright, I know you’ve been going around to everyone using the main tag and venting your frustrations, so I’m gonna be civil and kind to you ok?
Sakuras backstory HAS been setup, just not in a way that divulges a ton of details. We know that his parents aren’t in the picture (wether they’re dead or abandoned him), we know that he’s been treated with scorn and distrust from everyone (from kids running at the sight of his hair to an adult accusing him of stealing his wallet and threatening to call the cops), we know that he had to learn to fight to defend himself, we know that he hasn’t had anyone to rely on to the point that his friends coming to check on him while he’s sick is SHOCKING to him. If you’ve watched the anime the opening scene establishes that he was passed around from place to place (possibly between relatives) and that his caretakers also viewed him with scorn and disgust.
The main thing is that Sakura doesn’t WANT to talk about his past. (he basically said so himself when everything was happening with Anzai, “everyone has a thing or two they don’t wanna talk about”) The main connecting thread through all of the backstories in the series so far is that the character in question is changing/has changed enough that they can reflect on their past through new eyes. Sakura is nowhere near ready for that, he’s only just gotten to the point that he can call his friends Friends, and he still can’t accept that their praise and love is unconditional. To give his backstory now, when he’s not ready to face it, would feel rushed and unearned. Sakuras full backstory likely won’t come till near the end of the series, once he’s gone through major changes and can finally face his past through new eyes and accept that he does deserve love and good things. This isn’t because the author doesn’t care, but because this is what they think is best for the character. Obviously you’re free to disagree and not like this writing choice, but this is how I see it and why I think it works writing wise.
#wind breaker#wind breaker spoilers#wind breaker theories#Like I said your free to disagree but this is my two cents on it#I’d also kindly like to ask you to not spam asks to everyone? It can come across as hostile and I know many are annoyed#Also if your mad that characters other than Sakura are getting the focus again that’s your opinion#But I think your missing the point of this being an ensemble cast and are missing out on some fantastic characters

─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
The air in Austin is heavy. Sweat forms on my skin almost instantly, even in the dark of the night. I sigh and drag my suitcase which I hadn’t touched in years through the small crowd. The heat, while uncomfortable, feels like home; reminding me that I’m not far from my family. I find a small alcove off to the side to escape the crowd and cool down without all the added body heat from strangers. I lean against a bare wall and scan the crowd for a pair of tall, dark-haired men. Jensen said Jared would be coming back to visit his family too, so they got the same flight. I expect to wait a little while as they’ll likely get caught up with fans on the way out. I pull out my phone and send him a quick text to let him know I’ve landed safely and where I’m waiting. I don’t get a response, but I’m not surprised. Despite knowing the likely state of the floor, I let my legs rest while I wait as I sink to to cool tiled floor. I trust I’ll be able to have a shower as soon as I get to Jensen’s house, so I put the germy floor out of my mind for now and enjoy the coolness against my clammy legs. I lean my head against the wall and just watch as the crowd disperses outside, leaving the area quiet. I let my eyes fall closed briefly as I wait, keeping a firm hold on my bags.
I startle awake when I feel a presence looming over me, blanketing me from the fluorescent airport lighting. I blink a few times and squint at the person staring at me. His features are soft and apologetic.
“Hey Sleepyhead, I’m sorry we took so long.”
I shake my head and run my hand against his lightly stubbled cheek. “It’s fine. Can we go home now? I wanna shower and sleep in a bed.”
He smiles. “Of course. Come on. Let’s get a cab.”
He stands up and holds out his hands. I take them and he pulls me up. He effortlessly slings my backpack over one shoulder with his own before I can grab it. I keep a firm grip on my suitcase so he can’t take it and he doesn’t push. As we near the doors I spot Jared. It’s kind of surreal because it feels like I know him from everything Jensen’s said, yet we have never actually met. As we get close, he pulls me in for a big bear hug, squatting down to my height.
“It’s a pleasure to finally meet the woman who’s got my best friend’s heart”, he says too-loudly near my ear. I feel Jensen punch his shoulder. I blush.
Quieter, I lean up to his ear and say, “Little does he know, he has mine too. But don’t tell him, he might get a big head.”
Jared laughs out loud and pulls back slightly before leaning back and saying, “Oh, I’m sure he’s gonna have a big head when you get home…It just might not be the head you think.”
Jensen wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me away from Jared and into him instead. “Alright, I think that’s enough of that. You have a wife to get home to,” Jensen says as he stares Jared down.
“Alright, fine. Don’t forget the barbecue on Friday, I promised Gen you’d be there and you’d bring Y/N. She’s dying to go on a double-date.”
Jensen looks at me apologetically. I just smile and say, “We’ll be there.”
With that, Jensen unwraps himself from me, just holding onto my hand as we finally exit the airport. The cab ride to his house is fun as we drop Jared off first. He continues to tease us the whole time and it feels natural. It feels like I’m finally entering Jensen’s circle a little, while also giving me a glimpse of how much he actually talks about me or us with his onscreen brother. Once we’re finally alone, minus the cab driver, Jensen pulls me close and pecks my cheek. Next to my ear he whispers, “I’ve missed you.” I nod and snuggle into his embrace like it’s only the two of us. Jensen must notice the driver glancing at us because he stiffens. Once we finally stop moving Jensen sits up straight and leans forward to talk to the driver. “What do I have to do to make sure what happened in the cab stays in the cab?”
Knowing that he’s making this scene because of me, I place my hand on his arm, “Jens, it’s okay. Let’s just go inside.”
He doesn’t even look at me, he just raises an eyebrow at the driver. “Photo? Autograph? Personlized video?”
“Nothing, man. Listen to your girl. Just pay your bill and we’re square,” the driver says. Jensen nods, pulls out his wallet and hands over enough cash to cover the trip and a sizeable tip. I shake my head and get out the opposite side.
Jensen follows and unloads our bags, carrying the bulk of the load up the long driveway to a large metal gate at least two and a half metres high. It’s the first glimpse of starhood that I’ve really seen from him. He notices me staring as he punches in a code making the gate swing open slowly. “I value my privacy. Please don’t look at me differently. I know this is a lot.” I shake my head and reach for his hand.
“You’re still Jensen. The guy from Texas. You just happen to be a millionaire…”
He chuckles, “Now don’t get carried away.” He turns to face me. “I mean it, this place is probably going to overwhelm you, but please don’t let it scare you off.”
I nod, “Okay. I’m ready to see another side of you. I know I scare easy, but I’m working on it. I know I have to embrace both the sweet Texan and the lavish movie star, that’s what this whole trip is about.”
He nods, ”Come one then. Let me give you a tour.”
He tugs lightly at my hand, pulling me through the gate and towards the house. It’s massive compared to anything I’ve ever had, but for a celebrity’s house, it’s surprisingly quaint. Not what the gates had suggested at all. It’s a simple two-storey brick house. There's a sizable garage attached at the front which he walks us past to go to the front door. I take in the bare porch as he searches for his keys and unlocks the door. The hedges that surround the house and lawn are well-kept and green, a clear sign that he has a regular housekeeper and gardener. I shake my head to myself as I hear the door creak open. He steps in and leans against the door, holding it open for me. “Welcome to my humble abode and your home for the next couple weeks.”
I notice him toeing off his boots and so I do the same with my sneakers before walking past the entryway. The spacious living area is unexpectedly tidy but is decorated with nice furnishings –likely chosen by an interior designer–musical equipment and a few handmade trinkets that look like they’ve come from fans. It’s homely and very much Jensen. As I walk further into the room I notice the Texan flag hanging above the fireplace and bull horns above the door frame; very Texas. It feels like home, especially knowing that my parents have similar decor in their house. From the other side of the room, Jensen says, “Say something.”
I rush over to him and wrap my arms around him in a burst of excitement. He instantly embraces me. “It’s very Texas. Very homely.”
“I hope that one day-” he shakes his head as he cuts himself off, but I smile.
“Me too. One day…”
He kisses my forehead and pulls back slightly as he reaches for my hand. “Come. I’ll show you your sleeping options.” I happily follow him up the stairs, carrying my suitcase in my free hand. He turns on the lights in the hall and shows me a medium-sized bedroom first. It’s minimally decorated with a large queen-sized bed and a large dresser. “This is the guest room, which you’re welcome to stay in if you’re more comfortable. You can move in here at any point that you need, just say the word and I’ll help make you feel comfortable. Otherwise...” he leads me down the hall to another larger room. “This is my room, but I’m more than happy for it to be our room while you’re here.” He turns on the light and leads me inside. It feels as big as the whole living area in my apartment in New York. A king-size bed barely fills the space, leaving plenty of room for a lounge by the window with another acoustic guitar. He pulls away and walks into a large walk-in wardrobe where he puts down his bags and mine. I curiously follow him in and notice the ensuite through the other side. It’s adorned with a massive spa bath, rain shower, double sink and a toilet in a separate small room. My jaw drops as I take in the space. “You said you wanted to shower. Feel free or take a bath if you’d prefer. Make yourself at home.” My words get caught in my throat as I look at the bath that is much too large for just me. He shrugs off his jacket and dumps it in the hamper. “I’ll wait downstairs. Take your time.”
As he turns I finally find my voice, “Jensen.” He turns back instantly with a worried expression. “I…”
“What do you need? There’s another bathroom if this is too much. I just want you to feel comfortable.”
“Stay with me?”
“Darlin’...I-Are you sure? It’s night one. We don’t need to rush anything.”
I look over at the bath. “It’s too big for just me.”
He considers something for a moment before answering, “Did you bring bathers?” I nod slowly. “I don’t want to push anything, so how about I run you a bath and you get changed into your bathers and we can go from there. I can either sit by the edge or join you in my own bathers.” I smile at his consideration. As enticing as the idea of being skin-to-skin with him is, I know he’s worried about me having another meltdown and I can’t dispute his reasoning. “You can get changed in the robe or the other room, I’ll stay in here. I won’t look until you say to.”
“Thanks.” Feeling tiny in the spacious house, I want to stay close by, so I slide shut the doors to the ensuite and dig into my bag in the walk-in wardrobe. I dig to the bottom where I shoved my new bikini. It’s full-coverage but hugs me in all the right places. Stella and Anna helped me pick it out when we went on a girl's shopping spree for this trip. I had originally been leaning towards the one-pieces that cover everything but they talked me into a bikini. I tear off the price tags and lay the two pieces out on top of my suitcase before quickly stripping and slipping them on. Still feeling a little self-conscious I pull out a faux-silk dressing gown I bought and slip it over the top. After taking a few deep breaths to calm myself I slide open the doors and step into the now-warm room. Steam fills the air along with a sweet aroma of citrus. Jensen slowly turns around, his eyes rake over my body and he subconsciously licks his lips before biting down on his bottom lip.
After a short pause he softly says, “It’s still filling but you can get in. I’ll just go-I’ll just…” Noticing him flush I wrap my arms around my body.
“Sorry…”
“No. It’s not your fault. I just-I need to compose myself. We’re gonna be alone together in this house for a while, so I need to get used to it. It’s just that it’s the first time in so long.”
“I can manage on my own if it’s too much. I just-”
“I want to be near you as much as possible during our time together. It may seem like a while, but really it will go quickly. Just give me a second to change and I’ll be back.” He quickly slips out into the robe. I sit on the edge of the bathtub, watching as the water fills the tub and the bubbles rise. I gently dip my fingers into the warm water and try to relax my racing pulse. Unable to resist the warmth, I slip off the dressing gown and drape it over a brass hook near the sink before stepping into the aromatic bubbles and warm water. It feels so good against my bare feet and legs as I sink further down. It’s a little disappointing that some of the warmth is blocked by the lycra, but it’s so worth it once I see Jensen strolling in. I take in his perfectly toned body. His muscular arms, pecs and flat stomach on full display, while a pair of simple black and red board shorts hang low on his hips. He must notice me oggling him, as he steps forward and breaks the silence, “Like what you see, huh?”
I blush and look down at the water. He crosses the room quickly and steps into the large tub. He sits across from me, resting his arms on the bright white porcelain. “For the record, I like what I see. And I enjoy you looking. For all his teasing, Jared’s not wrong about how I feel about you.” I meet his eyes and smile. He reaches out and splashes some water in my direction. “Say something, Darlin’.”
I shake my head and look up at the high ceiling. “Hundreds-Thousands of girls would kill to be where I am, yet I…I can’t say it yet, Jens. I’m sorry. I like you, I want to be with you, I…You mean everything to me, but I can’t say that yet…”
He sits up straighter and takes my hand in his. “That is more than enough. You got on the plane. You’re here. That’s enough. And as for all the other girls…they’re not you. They only know the public version of me.” He brings my hand to his bare pec, gently forcing my palm to rest there so I can feel his racing heart beat. “I’m as nervous as you, trust me.”
We stay like that for a few minutes until his heartrate seems to even out a little. He lets go of my wrist and brings it to my exposed waist instead. He encourages me to come closer and I go with the flow. He guides me between his spread bowlegs and then helps me turn around so my back is flush with his front. His hands then start to gently massage my stiff shoulders and neck. Between the warmth and the euphoric feeling of his ministrations my eyelids fall closed and I relax. The longer he continues the less I can tell whether I’m awake or dreaming. I tense slightly as he slips the straps of my top off my shoulders so they hang off my arms, but when his fingers don’t stray past my upper arms I relax again. I feel his fingers hover near the clasp for a moment before he takes his hands off me completely. He voice is deep and raspy when he talks again, “We should get out…I need you to-I-Shit-I.”
Shaken out of my half-asleep state I notice the tension in his body and feel the stiff outline of his dick against my buttocks. “I’m sorry.” I quickly scramble away from him and out of the tub.
As I stand up, he grabs my hand. “Never apologise for what you do to me. I love the affect you have on me, I just don’t want to push you.”
I nod. “I’ll give you a few minutes. I’ll just go…” His eyes rake over my partially covered body and I notice how dark they are. He shakes his head and then points over at a towel rail. I follow his direction and take the towel, wrapping it around myself quickly. It’s warm–of course, he’d have a heated towel rail. I give him one last smile before slipping out of the room to change into my pyjamas. Not wanting to make the night any harder–no pun intended–for him than it already is and wanting to be comfortable, I choose a pair of sweats and hoodie instead of the lacy cami shirt and shorts that I bought with the bikini. I know I want to get the courage to wear all of it and go all the way before we go to my parents, but tonight’s not the night.
I grab my toothbrush and toothpaste and turn to go back into the bathroom but from the door, I hear quiet and strained grunts. Part of me wants to throw everything to the wind and help him with the problem I helped cause, but I also know it’s not right and that it would be best to let him handle this situation on his own. I decide to give him his privacy and find the guest bathroom instead. I carefully navigate the dim hall back to the guest room he showed me first. As I brush my teeth I take in my reflection in the giant vanity mirror. There are dark bags under my eyes and my cheeks are slightly flushed, but what I don’t recognise is the smile that encompasses my eyes, cheeks and tips of my mouth. I know I owe it all to one man.

my mostly calm(er) reaction and reflection post on the magnolia awards nomination list 🥀

sir i don’t understand. why aren’t good people rewarded? // as the old saying goes, evil doers get gold belts and good people can’t even keep their corpses. { war of faith episode 24 }
the quote above is one of my favorites from the show and i feel the truth to it now more than ever. i have already posted about my initial rage and that hasn’t changed, it’s not okay and will never be. i’m mostly a pacifist but i’m not a doormat. there is a reason why the WOF account or the other nominees like the director and “best actor” have not posted their thanks as soon as the nominations were out because they are guilty. it speaks volumes and they should be ashamed of themselves. if you look at the most recent post for WOF weibo account, they are being torn apart. not to mention blog accounts and the same audience who supported the drama calling them out.
this should not be a surprise to those of us who watched the show and understood it’s meaning. because this is what the show thought us, to not stay quiet when there is injustice. much like how wei ruolai said that he is ashamed to be in this mountain. how he was not afraid to leave his dream and literally walk back to Jiangxi for what he believes is the right thing to do. i don’t think you will fully understand the hurt, this is not just me being a yibo stan but someone who saw myself in Wei Ruolai.
the drama was about how the youth can change the world. the reality, and what just happened is proving otherwise. i’m sharing this quote here cause it perfectly explains the problem:
"If the youth are strong, the country will be strong" but the truth is the youth are strong, but you don't recognize it.
this incident exposed the problem with these acting awards. i daresay, not only that, but with other industries where everything has to be about seniority. which in turn makes the younger generation feel burned out and contribute to wanting to lie flat. because what’s the point if the game is rigged. the CCP have always given importance to the youth. often inserting the message of why you all should have kids now because they are the future. they are important blah blah blah — but this simple award? you can’t even show fairness? Wang Yibo is the poster boy for CCP’s propaganda on how an upstanding Chinese Youth should be. He has been in the most recent years, we all cannot deny that with how prominent he is showing up in nationalistic programs tied to the “youth”. So if someone as popular/well-known/talented as WYB can’t be treated fairly. can’t be rewarded with his efforts, then what more for a normal citizen?
WOF team and Magnolia Awards really opened a can of worms here. It goes deeper than nominations and a fandom. In a way, it’s good how this exposed the corrupt system and contributed to why people are so angry. The tag for him continued to stay on top because a lot of netizen can relate, even if you didn’t watch it, i bet they had something to say. It’s been happening for some time but definitely is magnified because of Yibo’s popularity and it made them look really bad.
I am aware of Yibo’s chances with the history of older nominees when it comes to this Awards show but I am confident that he had a good chance of getting it. What made me livid was Wang Yang taking the nom. You can slice and dice it however you want, but Yibo carried that show. He is the main lead. The story is about Wei Ruolai. If Yibo didn’t get it i will still speak up but with the betrayal, not only to him but also the screenwriter — i can’t stay silent and be the “rational” vic that most of you are familiar with. WAR OF FAITH is still one of my favorite dramas with how it affected me and is largely contributing to why i’m reacting the way i do.
I’m not gonna defend anyone. Only Wang Yibo. Honestly. Fuck them all. I watched the show and supported it for WYB — everyone else don’t matter. I won’t post any hate message on their accounts but they get no love from me either.
So now let me get to the good part. Because no matter how hurt we all are, there is still a lot of good that came out of this. The silver lining(s) if you will.

1. Everyone who said that WYB has some backers can fuck off. This proves that he hasn’t. He has no background. There is no big-name pulling the strings for him. He is where he is because he is WANG YIBO. His name alone is enough. WOF got the green light because Wang Yibo’s name was on it. Now more than ever, it is proven that he is where he is because of who he is and what he can bring to the table.
2. We are reminded once again that producers are not our friends. LOL. if you know, you know. it’s all business. So don’t kiss their ass.
3. The fact that he trended #1 for hours, and still is right now at number 4 is proof of how great he represented the character of Wei Ruolai. People now recognize him as an actor who deserves a nomination and a win. The general public are now on his side. He is the underdog and there is nothing more that we want to see than a beaten down person rise above it and win. In a way, this creates more buzz and anticipation for his next movie that will be out. 🫶🏼
4. This has really set him apart from his peers of idol actors who crossed over to being professionals. He did it so effectively and in a short span of time. What happened is sad, but he won people’s hearts and those who already do stan him are more geared up to support him in the future. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I’m happy for WOF’s nomination. If i’m being honest, it was a sure thing. I’m proud WYB was part and led this amazing drama to what it is. He will continue to give us more excellent works because that is his gift to the audience who always support him.
In the next coming days, if WYB or most likely YBO puts something out, that’s what i’m gonna follow. The most i will do is congratulate WOF, but the others? no thank you.

Selective and Mutuals only I want to keep my dash clean and easy to follow. I may not follow back at everyone. Especially if you have same muse in your blog as mine. I actually have a duplicate anxiety, minus with few of my close friends. If Mam is not your main thing on your multi that’s also fine for me.
Multimuse and Multifandom friendly-ish. Picky with OC’s. If your multi has muses from fandoms I don’t like, I won’t be following you back. There are fandoms that have made my life living hell one way or another so I choose to stay away from them.
As for OC’s, I have mixed feelings. May or may not follow your OC blog.
Headcanon Based and “Canon Divergent”. I base my Mammon on some of the irl Mammon lore but also mixed with Vivziepops version. Canon Divergent as in he is not that much into show business that much, his main focus is to make money by buying facilities and by all the companies and stores he owns. I’m not gonna say no to people who wants to throw Glitz and Clam at him but he is not gonna treat them any different than Fizz. And as Viv said those two are only popular in Greed ring which is huge loss compared to Fizz who was well known across all the rings of hell. I will be posting headcanons and tag those as #Headcanon;; / #About Muse;;
Shipping Is not a thing on this blog. This is one ship blog with only my friends Ozzie (rapid-as-sass-in-nation-team). If you are gonna follow Mammon just a sake of shipping, I suggest you don’t even bother following this blog. Mammon is Ace and sorta sex repulsed. He will be hating Sindays forever. Friendship, Hateship… everything else are welcome! Gimme Sins being friend-enemies! Give me all Adams for him to fuck around with! He legit needs friends.
NSFW & Triggering themes Where I won’t be posting anything sexual here but darker rp themes may occur. Plus Mammon’s foul language. If the word “Cunt” offenses you. I’m sorry. Mammon swears like a pirate. I will be tagging triggers as “#Tw; Blood” or “#Tw; Injury”. If I forget to tag anything please let me know. I’m not here to make anyone uncomfortable.
Muses of this blog Mammon is the main thing but at times you may also see his twin female Fizz bots who works as his assistance. Their names are Coin and Penny. Both have personalities and they are sentient. You may also see Fizzarolli here popping up. My main Fizz blog is @Peppy-Jester

Ask Box Is open for everything. I welcome everyone to piss this well rounded fella off. Or just send in requires, thoughts, even M!A's. But if the things goes too personal or too sexual I will just ignore the asks. Spreading OOC drama will get you ignored and blocked
Discord Is for mutuals only. I don’t add just anyone because I have at times hard time replying on things there.
Few more things for my mutuals - Please reblog from the source, unless there is none then you are free to blog from me. -Don't hop in the rp middle of everything. You don't know how many mutuals I've had to block because of this happening. -I happen to use icons in my replies, you don't have to. It's optional and if you want me to drop the icons as well let me know. -My replies varies from few lines to several paras depending how my muse works for me at the time. Mr. 6 made you do a good show to be released?? 👀 um....
This is already giving serious eye vibes.
A whole show dedicated to public humiliation?
The Mr. Bonzo suit started moving??? 👀 Serious stranger vibes. 🤡
"It actually became a sort of ritual"
I've seen people being like "don't cross tag" but buddy... the writing cross tags itself here I mean c'mon! 😂 Something something ritual of the stranger- okay, I'll keep listening!
Hey, what's with the music?? Hey, who is Terrance Menki???👀
"The police said there were eleven bodies in total and his wardrobe was full of all sorts of homemade costumes." BRO IS ACTUALLY MAGNUSPOD WILLIAM AFTON-
"It certainly had a profound effect on the Mr. Bonzo brand." Oh I'm sure it did, holy fucking shit. 👀
Oh, me using this image is rather ironic now.
"In a lot of ways I’m more his prisoner now than I ever was on my show." WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT? 👀
"The witness statements from three murders over the last five years that claim a person in a Mr. Bonzo costume was at the scene? Do you think there could be a copycat?" Has the fear of clowns manifested as an actual clown-guything?
"Don’t contact us again." "Us?" "Why am I still trapped dealing with all this this- Why won’t he let me go?! Why-" So Mr. Bonzo is absolutely a clown cryptid of sorts with some sort of hold over Nigel.
Oh no, Gwen's about to fuck around & find out, isn't she? 👀
Hey, is Colin still himself & is he supposed to be back?
Hmm, okay, I guess that's him (hopefully).
"Maybe don’t tell them I’ve been on their terminals. They’ll only get the wrong idea." "If Lena asks, I wasn’t here." Seems like everyone's got their own little secret investigations going on, fun! This can only go well! 🙃
One of the episodes absolutely no one shows up to work except Lena is there & is like "where the fuck did everyone go?"
"Time to get some new hires again I guess."
Let's go!! Ruin exploration gang!!

"Like, it’s Saturday night and I’m choosing to hang out in a hole with you. A wet hole. And not the good kind either."
Alice with the absolute best quotes. lmao
That sounds like something with giant wings like a bat or some sort of cloth flapping in the wind. Let's hope it's the latter!
Oh a rusty old filing cabinet! Wait tetanus- 😭
"That carved floor in the big atrium – I don’t know what’s going on with that." Ah so we're just gonna breeze past that then. 😶
These are probably the remnants of old avatar creation test areas like mentioned in the Gerry & Gertrude episode. I'm just assuming here.
A key? Big find! Let's go!
AS I WAS SAYING-
Gwen, it was nice knowing you. 🫡
"Now get out of his house."
Archivist! 👁👄👁
"symbols of ancient otherworldly power"
Wait could this be a timeline where this universe's Jane Prentiss actually did manage to invade the building & succeed? I'm thinking out loud.
21:10 that sounds like critters, insects specifically 👀
"I have memories of weird stuff I saw here, but no context. I want to know what was happening, why they chose us… why they didn’t choose me. Maybe find the bit where everything started to go wrong." I am so captivated & intrigued please recount said memories to us- I mean Alice so we can learn more. Please. 👀
EXCUSE ME, WHO THE FUCK WAS THAT?!? WHO IS "[ERROR]?"
WHY DO THEY SOUND DISTORTED AS FUCK?? ARE THEY FROM THE PRIME TIMELINE OR IS THIS A NEW THING?
ARE WE GAZING OUR EYES UPON A WRETCHED THING FROM THE MAGNUS ARCHIVES?!
edit:
Is Lucia Wright an avatar of The Flesh now (in this universe or from the original timeline somehow)? Because it sure fucking sounds like it! 👀 Well, at least that key was put to good use! 😂
Also, supposedly Mr. Bonzo is a reference to Mr. Blobby.
Gwen, I'd be quaking in my boots too. That thing is terrifying!
Late observation but this universe & story seems to focus a lot on the cryptids & I like the direction it's going in! Loving this plot of cryptid hunters, childhood avatar experiments, a strange institute where our main character has past trauma, & just all of it is so good! 💜
Amazing episode, 10/10, I was at the edge of my seat the entire time! 💜 That Bonzo scene & the sound design were absolutely horrifying, thank you! The ending too! 🔥
#nigel dickerson if you need help from mr. bonzo or mr. six please blink twice omg#what if bonzo & six are actually the same creature or entity of sorts?#someone keep an eye on Colin; I'm worried about him#that carved floor in the big atrium is gonna come back into importance I just know it#so Lena uses mr. bonzo as a hitman crytpid of sorts... & now Gwen is exposed to the occult#this episode is a lot... holy crap#these episode do not miss; oh my gods; hit after hit; every time!#worm tracks made me think of jane prentiss; I just made the connection#did lucia wright become an avatar of the flesh & invade this world or is she a left over experiment of the magnus institute#I can only hope Gwen Bouchard will tell the others about wtf she saw (likely against Lena's wishes)#tmagp liveblog#mine#op#tmagp 10#tmagp#tmagp spoilers#tma spoilers#tma#the magnus protocol#the magnus archives

Despair Time Chapter 2 Review Part 1: The Good
Hey guys Review Anon here and what’s this? I’m reviewing something other than ASOOT arcs? Yes, yes, I am. Shocker I know but I am not treading too far as I’m still covering Danganronpa as I’m reviewing Chapter 2 of Despair Time now it’s finished. I have my thoughts on it and now I’ve taken some time to take it all in I can talk about what went well, what didn’t go well and what lessons we can take away from the whole thing. I was gonna wait until Bubbles does their review/rant but natural disasters are bitches and power hasn’t been restored yet. So, I’m doing this now to get out of the way.
And for any people coming here from non ASOOT related tags then I will apologise in advance because you are gonna be in for a LOOONNNGGGG read. If you are the type to go tl;dr then turn away now.
I presume the rest of you want to read it? Well, let’s get right to it. I’ve split this into three parts because I don’t want to do Google Docs for this, and it would be an easier read for those who came from the non ASOOT space as you guys aren’t used to my lengthy reviews. Consider this your crash course on how I review, in extreme detail and excessive word count. This right here is about 8.5k which is a bite size by my standards which should tell you everything.
Please bear in mind you will have to wait a bit for the next parts as I want to get my current project done before this. Its just I didn't anticipate this taking so long.
Anyway, let’s get right into it, shall we?
Chains of Friendship
Chapter 1s for any Fanronpa tend to be very shocking as it’s the creator’s way to try and surprise the audience and subvert any expectations they have. Some do this well, others do not. But Despair Time was one of those who did it well by how it handled the main protagonist Teruko Tawaki.
At first glance she seemed to be an atypical Danganronpa protagonist. Ultimate Lucky Student? Check. Has an ahoge? Check. Believes in friendship, trust, hope and all those bollocks? Check. Gets backstabbed by someone they believed to be a friend in the first chapter? Check quite literally. Forgives said friend and continues to be a ray of sunshine? Ch- oh wait hang on a minute she didn’t do that at all.
Yeeaahhh while Xander’s sudden attempted murder on Teruko was a massive shock, what was even more so that Teruko decided to say fuck friendship and trust and not trust anyone ever again. On one hand you can understand Teruko’s rage. She was very close to Xander and he used that trust to try and kill her. Min was also someone who supported Teruko and she was willing to throw Teruko under the bus to save her own skin. None of the others stood up for her as they all decided that Teruko killed Xander, and it was only thanks to the power of protagonist energy and using basic logic that saved them. As such Teruko was well within her right to call everyone out for being selfish bastards. Especially since as we get to know more of Teruko this chapter, we learn that what happened in Chapter 1, while extreme, is a snapshot of her entire life due to how ruinous her luck has been.
I don’t think I’ve said this before, but I will say it now, luck SUCKS in the Danganronpa universe. Look at all the Lucky Students we had, Makoto is the only one who has a decent life and he loses the most. Nagito is so ravaged by luck he’s become suicidal and depressed. Yuki goes through literal hell due to his luck and the less said about Utsuro, the better. And while it’s still very much a WIP, one of my OCs is a Lucky Student and her life is equally ruined by her luck. But don’t worry I’ve not copy pasted it from anyone else as the direction I’ve taken my OC is in a way nobody has done before. And what Teruko has here is a fine example of that. She is an orphan who was abandoned by everyone in her life, she has numerous wounds on her body, she barely has any education as she has to sneak into large schools as a student and then once the gig is up, run away and her finances are in ruins due to the hospital bills. Its little surprise why she likes the Killing Game, as she gets guaranteed food and shelter here, which is more then what can be said outside. But even that has a silver lining as we know whoever the mastermind is, they have it out for her.
However, while this is a massive departure from what the typical protagonist would go through, it’s a known fact that in a Killing Game, you NEED to work with others. Class Trials are decided by majority vote and so if you become a pariah, you are very likely to be ignored and might risk dooming yourself or others if what you are saying is true. Teruko doesn’t have to like her classmates, but she needs to learn to coexist with them. Especially since Teruko switching from “I hate and distrust everyone” to “We are all friends” is a major mood whiplash I doubt anyone would do. So naturally one of the main themes of this chapter is learning to rebuild trust after its broken and the consequences of not trusting anyone.
Two major voices object to Teruko’s self-imposed isolation and distrust of everyone. The first is Eden Tobisa. She’s always been a cheerful and optimistic person within the Killing Game and has taken Xander’s and Min’s deaths harshly. In a way Eden behaves more like what a typical Danganronpa protagonist does, wanting to be friends with everyone and being kind. When she tries to get Teruko to bake with her, Teruko reminds her the last time they baked was with Hu, Rose and Min and that was later used for Min’s murder of Xander. She calls her naïve for being optimistic and says she won’t be friends with her, because she knows that at some point, Eden will crack from the harsh reality of the Killing Game and the luckster doesn’t want a stake in it. Kindness will always be rewarded with cruelty.
But when she says this Eden surprises her as contrary to what Teruko thinks, Eden isn’t oblivious to the cruelness of the Killing Game and reality as a whole. Yet the small clockmaker chooses to be kind because it’s the right thing to do, and if you give someone kindness while people can backstab you, you can be rewarded. When it comes to trust and distrust you need a healthy balance.
When I reviewed Black and White Christmas, I didn’t like how Sunako was forcing the Quantum Crew to trust the 76 Squad for a couple of reasons. I tried explaining it at the time, but I felt I telegraphed it quite poorly and I’m sure that’s irritated Mod Poi. The first one is on me, as I didn’t really know the 76 Squad then and as such couldn’t really tell at face value if they were to be trusted or not. Since they are from NWPM and I struggled to read it, my lack of knowledge led to that judgement, but the other thing is that I compared the whole thing to Raja and the Last Dragon and how it mishandled the theme of trust. Expect I didn’t explain it very well or misunderstood the hate. The main reason Raja got betrayed the first time was because she trusted Namaari too much, which you should never do to people you literally just meet. Give them the benefit of doubt yes, but never open yourself up to someone you don’t know that well. Teruko made that mistake with Xander and that’s why she got a knife in her gut.
While it’s a heartfelt speech, it had a notable impact on Teruko as she didn’t know how to respond. When you expect nothing but betrayal and backstabbing, having someone be kind for the sake of it can shock you. It’s the same shock Kyoko experienced in Trigger Happy Havoc when she didn’t expect Makoto to keep his mouth shut about evidence that he knows is false, and he explained it’s because he trusts her, she didn’t know how to respond. While Eden isn’t the main protagonist, the same principle applies.
Eden isn’t the only person who objects to Teruko’s views that you should never have faith in others as the other is Charles Cuevas. Starting off Charles was your atypical smug intellectual who believes he’s superior to others, akin like Byakuya and Rei. But much like them, he softens up and learns to work with others though in Charles’s case it’s a bit more extreme. In Chapter 1 he was revealed to suffer from Hemophobia, so much so that if he sees blood, he literally goes into shock and can’t remember anything. Xander uses this to his advantage to try and frame Charles for his would be killing of Teruko, but when it seems like everyone is turning on Charles, Whit is the one who stands up for him, gives evidence why he couldn’t do it and so Charles is cleared. This has caused the formally smug chemist to go through a bit of character development as while in Chapter 2 he still thinks his intelligence is beyond that of most of the cast, he isn’t pushing them down as much and has soften up to certain characters, most particularly Whit and Teruko. The former because he stood up for him and is an honest friend and the latter due to demonstrating that unlike most of the cast, Teruko actually uses her brain. It’s a slow burn but assuming Charles survives all to the end, he will become a much better person.
So, when Teruko talks about her disbelief that he is trusting people after what happened in the Class Trail, he brings up some valid points on why Teruko is actually being quite illogical as cooperation with others is key to surviving this game and humans are social pack animals by design, we work better as a team.
Chapter 1 Charles is pretty much Chapter 2 Teruko but after learning he cannot look at a corpse and thus is incapable of surviving on his own, Charles has started to learn how to rely on others. In some ways he doesn’t like how everyone pities him now so Teruko is a relief as her interactions with him haven’t changed. But while Eden says why Teruko is wrong from an emotional and moral perspective, Charles approaches it from a logical and factual point of view. As many analysts have already pointed out, it’s impossible to do a solo act in a Killing Game, if you want to live, you need to learn how to work with others. Either to prevent yourself from becoming a target, or so others can help you when you are down, much like how Whit helped Charles in his lowest point. As such using his own experiences, he knows the direction Teruko is coming from and implores her to reconsider as eventually events will occur which will force her back to trusting others again.
I like this as we have two different characters, both who get tons of development this Chapter, attacking Teruko’s morals from different angles. But while they are definitely making dents, Teruko is able to justify in her worldview that she’s been beaten too many times to be like Eden, especially as Eden seems to have had a good life where her worst secret is that she’s a closet lesbian. Which okay its definitely something Eden might have been harassed over if bigotry is still a thing in this world, but with so many of the cast being LGBTQ, it’s not the worst secret in the world. And for Charles, he has a deliberating condition which prevents him from surviving on his own. Everyone knows about Teruko’s luck and she’s survived this well without needing help on it so she doesn’t need to rely on others.
Expect of course, she’s wrong, because during an interaction with Veronika, she brings up the suggestion that Teruko might have prosopagnosia.
While it’s not confirmed in this Chapter, I do believe Bubbles has a point that Teruko might have face blindness but I don’t think its prosopagnosia. Recall that Teruko has had a very harsh upbringing where she couldn’t get close to people or have a solid support network. It’s known that having a disruptive childhood can lead to arrested development in various areas. I recall a case where a woman had blurry vision for a long time as a child and wasn’t diagnosed as shortsighted until much later in her life and because this happened after the point in a child’s development where the sense of self develops, it means this woman had a lot of self-identity problems and has a hard time recognising herself or others. But she doesn’t have prosopagnosia as that’s a neurological condition you are born with. Rather I feel the face blindness is due to people fazing in and out of Teruko’s life so much that she doesn’t bother forming connections and that is what’s fucked her up.
Regardless of the technicities, it IS a problem in a Killing Game because it would be very easy for someone to trick Teruko by merely dressing up as someone else. That wouldn’t be a problem if Teruko has a support network in place, but if she doesn’t, then she’s a goner. So, like Charles, for medical reasons Teruko doesn’t have the means to stand on her own and needs others to help her.
But the one character who shattered Teruko’s worldview and made her realise what she’s doing is wrong is the victim of this chapter; Arei Nageishi.
When Arei was introduced back in the Prologue at first it seemed like she was gonna be an insufferable Hiyoko-like character. She’s vicious, mean and enjoys tormenting others. But Chapter 1 reveals some layers to her as when Eden invited Teruko, Rose, Min and Hu to bake, Arei got really upset because she wasn’t invited, implying she wants to be involved with the group but doesn’t know how to approach it in any way other than being mean. Then during her FTE with J, she reveals that she has a ranking system in place for how badly she bullies other, while some like J get mild teasing, others she will try to ruin their lives completely. And for kind people she will make sure they cry because she cannot stand anyone being kind, implying that Arei seems to have a real problem with people being kind.
As such when Eden goes to apologise to Arei for excluding her, at first Arei behaves like how Teruko would think she would, she belittles Eden, calls her dumb and says she’s gonna die if she keeps this up, which causes Eden to burst into tears and run away. But alone with David and Teruko, Arei confesses that she didn’t like doing that. She said that stuff to Eden to protect her, because she believes the world is like what Teruko says it is, that kindness cannot be rewarded with anything other than cruelty. And if Eden keeps this up, she’s gonna die. The reason for this is as you would expect due to trauma as Arei’s older sisters would torment her constantly and make her life hell, until Arei just had it and frame her sisters for a bunch of crimes which resulted in them getting send to reform school. This here is a snapshot of one of the main themes this chapter has so we will come back to it later. So, is Arei just reinforcing Teruko’s worldview? Nope. Because then Arei reveals that despite all of that, she WANTS kind people to exist, she HAS to be doubtful of Eden because she’s so kind and optimistic, the exact person Arei wants to have in her life, but her past experiences have gotten in the way. And as she breaks down sobbing due to that, something stirs within Teruko.
Without realising it, Arei has shot a massive wound in Teruko’s armour. She’s someone who is basically like Teruko, who is rude and cruel to others because every time she’s tried to be kind, it was slapped down and punished. She also believes the world is a dark and evil place, but she also wants to believe kind people exist, despite what her experiences have taught her. This is what Teruko is going through. The fact she does cactus puppet plays of Xander and Min, shows that despite what Teruko claims, she is not a sociopath and can care for others, and she wants to be friends with everyone but having been hurt so badly, she cannot get close again. Teruko, without realising it, sees a lot of herself within Arei. She denies it at the time but those words have an impact on her.
David’s speech to her, even though its hollow and not even Arei believed it because she saw his secret and knew he was a piece of shit, still didn’t mind it. The reason being is that even if someone like David, who is seen as a beacon of hope and sunshine, is a rotten bastard deep down, then its proof she isn’t too far gone. While obviously we don’t have David reveal this to the others, we see the conversation happen, and it clearly had an effect on David, due to him remembering it so vividly. Arei’s drive to become a better person wound up saving Eden’s life twice as she interrupted Arturo’s attack on Eden when she tried to reveal his secret to him, and by doing her stunt Ace, the culprit for this case, decided to switch targets and go for Arei instead of Eden. Which I’m glad that Eden didn’t die because if she did, that would convince many that Despair Time was gonna be a cynical work like the Another Series and The Mistake. And why of course Arei still died this chapter, her death was NOT caused by her reaching out to others because Ace was gonna kill regardless of what was happening. And Teruko’s rage at Ace for killing Arei was less about him having a shitty motive but because had Arei lived, she and Teruko would have become good friends, since she would have understood Teruko’s pain and her desire to want to trust others regardless of her past.
Teruko also suffered the consequences of shutting others out as by being isolationist, Teruko has missed the context for a lot of what shenanigans have unfolded among others, and due to believing her viewpoint to be the only correct one, she makes mistakes. During the Class Trial, Teruko misreads the time and assumed the murder occurred at 8pm and NOT 8am which is Arei’s true time of death. Had Charles not pointed this out, David would be ruled as the culprit and everyone would have been executed. Another major mistake Teruko made was in how to end the Killing Game. When Veronika said that Eden had an idea to end the Killing Game by being as boring as possible, Teruko said that wouldn’t work as that’s why motives exist, whereas she has an idea but she needs to wait until the next murder occurs. We are left hanging, and for Arei’s case quite literally on what she meant by that, that is until Ace was exposed as the culprit and Teruko asks Ace to do something outrageous; Kill MonoTV.
Teruko’s logic for this at first glance seems sound. The reason the Killing Game occurs is due to the fact they have to follow MonoTV’s rules, and breaking them results in death. However, with Ace due to die via execution, he has nothing to lose. If he destroys MonoTV he has a chance to save his own life, of course if he fails, so what, Ace is gonna die anything so it achieves nothing. In short, there is no downsides and only upsides.
Expect of course if you have been paying attention, this is not the case. Firstly, normally with the mascots they tend to have copies, one gets destroyed, another takes its place. Thus, the game will carry on, but then there’s another one and one that tripped a lot of people up. When MonoTV was asked who would be the blackened, he said whoever was the most “mastermind-y” Now a lot of people interpreted this as being whoever is behind the murder and not necessarily the murderer. This is why Bubbles proposed that while Hu would be the one to kill Arei/J, David would be the blackened as he was the one who manipulated Hu into doing so. But this logic doesn’t just apply to murders, when Ace obliges and tries to smash MonoTV, it doesn’t work due to the robot being more durable then initially thought, the AI said that while Ace did break a rule, he was gonna be executed anyway so it would achieve nothing. As such the one being punished would be the one who told Ace to break said rule; Teruko herself.
As the countdown for Teruko to get gatling gunned occurs, I wasn’t worried like Teruko, as I KNEW someone was gonna jump in front of her and take the shots. The question was; who? I was thinking either Eden or Charles would do so as both have strong connections to Teruko, and for both it would be a massive contribution to their characters. In Eden’s case its shows she’s not scared to fight what she believes in, and returning the favour. Teruko stood up for her when the culprits narrowed down to Ace and herself, and Teruko decided to focus on Ace, so the petite clockmaker would return the favour. For Charles, it would be him facing his fears as he is terrified of the sight of blood and gore, so him jumping in front of the way of a gatling gun, assuming he survives, would show how much he is starting to care for the others. Anyone else aside those two…I didn’t think so. Ace would have never done so as I’m sure he is the one who voted for Teruko. Nico clearly wanted to get away with their crimes and the others either aren’t close to Teruko or jumping in front of the gun would be out of character for them. So, when the timer hit zero, I expected a CGI of either Eden or Charles with a lot of bullets in them…
But instead, my expectations were blown wide open by the fact that Levi of all people jumped in front of Teruko and shielded her from the bullets. This reminded me very much of when Akane was almost blown up by a bazooka by Monokuma but Nekomaru blocked his way and got shot. Considering what we learnt about Levi in this Chapter, this really took me off guard AND bumped him up several tiers in my character rankings.
But this had a total shock on Teruko, as she believed if she didn’t care for anyone else, nobody would likewise care for her, so the fact that someone cared enough to shield her from pain, and that they are on death’s door because of her, send shockwaves through Teruko’s body as when after Ace’s execution as everyone rushed to the infirmary to treat Levi, Teruko stayed behind to do something she said she would never do; mourn.
The amount of people who contributed to Teruko’s character development doesn’t end there as while those four are examples of positive interactions for Teruko, we have had two cases of negative interactions who serve a different purpose, the first is David Chiem.
When introduced David…seemed off. He seemed like an affable and friendly person who believes everyone has the motivation and desire to change, and Xander in particular seems to be a massive fanboy of him. But like most celebrities and people in public that is just a façade is in the Prologue when Xander went off to get something for his idol to sign, we see David chuckling to himself on how much of an idiot Xander is, without realising that Teruko was there to see it all, and his shock when she reveals she heard that, says it all. Chapter 2 brought up the suss meter even further when David ‘confessed’ his secret and implored everyone to discuss their own secrets, which far from doing good, ended up causing a lot of drama and tension. Anyone with a irk of sense could tell David was fake, I knew he was fake, Bubbles knew he was fake, pretty much most Youtubers reacting knew he was fake.
Another factor working against him is his VA. Quite a few SDRA2 English Dub VAs also worked on Despair Time, and for the most part is interesting to see their contrasts. Bblackroses is known for playing Hibiki Otonokoji, but here she is J who while Hibiki is a bubbly peppy girly-girly, J is a complete tomboy who hates the starlight and fame. Artimmissis Setsuka Chiebukuro, who is a very reliable woman with a prankster side to her, but here she is MonoTV an incompetent mastermind who tells the worst jokes. David Chiem’s VA is Sword of Swords who also worked on SDRA2, and what character did he play there?
Oh, nobody important, just Mikado Sannoji the Mastermind of that game, the leader of the main antagonist group Void and more or less a piece of shit.
At first glance the contrast seems to be that Mikado is an evil bastard whereas David is a moral force of good. But as the pressure mounts for David and the fact his secret is that he’s a manipulator who likes to deceive others, as well as how he mocked Arei’s desire for friends earlier, meant when it reached the boiling point the mask came off and David revealed his true self.
It’s here the true contrasts between him and Mikado become clear. Both are men who hide their true selves behind a mask, literally for Mikado and figuratively for David and both pretended to be forces of good before their masks slip and their true vile nature is revealed. David is obvious as he tried to be a good moral speaker whereas Mikado you might have missed it tried to be a hero and claim Void was a force of good before Rei and Teruya ruined it. In addition, their true selves are so VERY different. Mikado always remained polite and affable even when he is being extremely bastardry whereas David is rude, condensing and swears all the damn time. I also cannot help that David’s true self looking a lot like Utsuro, who is the main object of Mikado’s desires cannot NOT be a coincidence.
But what does David show for Teruko? Well, he seems to at a glance reinforce Teruko’s beliefs that nobody can be trusted as Teruko smugly pointed out she saw the warning signs of him being evil way before anyone else did. And whenever he talks to her, he seems to want to keep this act of Teruko hating everyone up, saying it’s her nature to distrust others and the only thing she trusts is the truth. And then here is his final confession he wants Teruko to trust what he’s saying. David is in a way a warning of the kind of person Teruko would become if she keeps on her current path. I also think that David had Teruko’s secret and knows it’s her fault the Killing Game is going on. The fact he keeps seemly praising Xander and calling him a good person is obviously an attempt to get under Teruko’s skin due to how she feels about him. I for one second don’t believe he cares about Xander.
Mr. Politician isn’t the only person who serves as a warning as the culprit of this chapter, Ace Markey does as well. Ace always seemed to be a coward as he is easily scared of his own shadow and while he talks tough, he doesn’t have the actions to back it up. However, in Chapter 2 Ace gets sick and tired of being a wimp and thus decides to become a bully, which is still being a coward as pretty much most bullies bully because they are cowards who want someone weaker than themselves to lord over to make themselves feel better. Yet what drives Ace’s actions is his Thanatophobia, fear of death which is a very bad thing to have in a Killing Game. Due to this fear, Ace decides to commit murder as he feels if he doesn’t kill someone, someone will do the same to him and the fact Nico almost does, reinforces this belief. Teruko is someone while not paranoid, is very distrustful of everyone and if she feels that anyone and everyone is out to get her, she could fall down the same slippery slope that Ace does.
Despite this, Ace still manages to surprise her as when Levi takes the bullets for her, everyone needs to get to the infirmary to treat Levi otherwise he dies, but the lift won’t work since Ace still needs to be executed. Ace has already made it very clear he hates and despises Levi, especially after the latter confesses that he doesn’t care about the former, which seemed to really hurt him, but seeing someone he hates that much do something so selfless, means he decides to do the one decent thing in his life, while also being his last, getting MonoTV to execute him so the lift doors open and Levi could be saved.
That I think was the final straw which broke Teruko. She has had mounting pressure throughout the entire Chapter but then someone who was a coward, sacrificing himself so that someone else could live, is the final crushing proof as well as the knowledge that while she avoided making the same mistakes as before, she just wound up making new ones, that caused her to cry alone in the Trial Room.
We also get interesting character interactions with Teruko and MonoTV throughout the chapter. Since Teruko isolated herself so much from the others, MonoTV hires her to do maintenance around the Killing Game since he’s too incompetent to do it himself. As Monokumas were originally butler robots this would have never happened in the main series. We learn a far bit about MonoTV, that he is a simple robot designed for the Killing Game and he doesn’t have full knowledge on who’s running the thing as he was only programmed to do what his tasks enabled. And as Teruko pointed out, he is sadistic as Min was executed before she could say everything she wanted to and Ace’s execution was dragged out for as long as possible, in both cases it’s to make the victims feel the most despair. The other interesting thing is that Teruko can use Monocoins to get him to remove other characters who are bothering her which is the complete contrast to FTEs. What should we call them instead? Exclusion Zone Effects or EZE? Nah that doesn’t roll off the tongue.
In conclusion, I really liked how Teruko was handled in this Chapter due to how much of a cliffhanger the previous chapter left with her. This chapter did so much to knock her down for her high and mighty view and while she won’t be buddy-buddy come Chapter 3, I do believe that she will be more approachable to the cast. Teruko’s journey throughout this fanganronpa will be interesting to see and I see her opening up more about her past as she gets more comfortable with the cast.
Trust in Nature
Every Danganronpa game has two themes, no matter how you slice it. The first theme is the most obvious one and this is a theme that the protagonist and the mastermind have in common. For Trigger Happy Havoc its Hope vs. Despair, Goodbye Despair is Future vs. Past and Killing Harmony is Truth vs. Lies.
Some have said that it’s too early to call what the themes for Despair Time are, but I disagree as Chapter 2 imo is the ideal time to introduce your themes, and I think I’ve worked them out. The primary theme is one that doesn’t take much to deduce and others have caught onto it and that is Optimism vs. Cynicism. Teruko is a very cynical individual and doesn’t think she can trust others but more optimistic people disagree, saying being jaded makes you more open to being deceived. Eden and Charles, who are 100% the partners in this fanganronpa serving similar roles to Kaito and Maki in Killing Harmony where one represents the emotional connection and the other the logical one. Eden is always a bundle of sunshine and wanting everyone to be happy, but unlike someone like say Makoto, she isn’t oblivious to the fact the world is cruel but chooses to be kind regardless because its decent and it’s the most moral thing to do. Charles is more logical based and originally was quite cynical but having been shown kindness by Whit, he has opened up a bit more to some other people and while he definitely is a work in progress, he is more optimistic about surviving and escaping the Killing Game.
And this brings me to the Rival of the Fanganronpa; David. Bubbles didn’t like David surviving past Chapter 2, ignoring their own hatred for David aside because they didn’t think David contributed anything meaningful to the overall narrative of Despair Time. I disagree harshly as if I am right with the main themes of Despair Time, David is 100% a perfect Rival character as he represents those themes so well. The cynicism side is obvious as David believes that everyone is gonna die in the Killing Game and there is no point to continuing so might as well get it over and done with. This is why when David’s true nature was exposed, he tried to claim to be the killer, which is another typical rival tactic, so everyone votes for him and they all die. This very logic is why Teruko said she is not the culprit because as soon as David went on his tirade, it would have been an instant win condition for her. And as the game progresses more and more people are gonna want to live to prove David wrong and his mental sanity is probably gonna decline as a result until his Rival protection cause expires in Chapter 5 where he probably dies in a way to try and spite the cast. Going back to the Mastermind, I believe they think the Despair Time cast are all horrible people that deserve to die, whenever that be because they are Neo Remnants of Despair or something to do with Teruko, and as such use the Killing Game to kill them all. By the end of the fanganronpa, Teruko would have become more like a typical Danganronpa protagonist and be able to defy the mastermind wanting to kill her by showing the world is not a bleak place and people can change and improve.
That brings me nicely to the secondary themes. The primary themes are shared between the protagonist and the mastermind, whereas the secondary themes are shared between the group and the rival character. This take a bit more thinking to figure out but I think I’ve cracked what Despair Time’s secondary theme is. Trigger Happy Havoc’s is working together as a team as the class are trying to work together to survive the Killing Game while Byakuya is trying to play the Killing Game in order to “win” and isolates himself from the others. Goodbye Despair’s secondary theme is a deconstruction of the idea of talent as despite being Ultimates, Class 77-B doesn’t really care about their talents and support each other for their own individual characteristics and despite Hajime being revealed to be a Reserve Course Student, are extremely accepting of him. Nagito by contrast believes Hope’s Peak talented and talentless system is gospel, praises his fellow Ultimates for their talents which they do not want to be reminded by and is extremely cruel to Hajime when he finds out he is a talentless person who thinks he can mingle with his idea of the elite. Killing Harmony’s secondary theme is wanting to remain stagnant and compliant as the V3 Cast are very content to stick to the status quo and carry on with their lives, whereas Kokichi would rather shake things up and challenge said status quo. All of these secondary themes are very important to the story. And with that I believe Despair Time’s secondary theme is if humanity is inherently good or evil.
That seems very similar to Optimism vs. Cynicism but it isn’t. This theme tackles if humans are capable of changing their nature or if they are always either good or evil. From this it’s very easy to see where David lies, he believes humanity cannot change their nature, people are either saints or scum. If someone can “change themselves” it’s because they were never that bad to begin with, whereas truly evil people cannot change. And Teruko also seems to agree on this concept because whenever Eden says she is a good person, Teruko tells her to stop as by saying that, she makes her feel worse for the fact she can change but she hasn’t made the effort to do so. Teruko always believed she was scum and would die like scum if she cared about nobody around her.
Naturally this chapter has a few characters who challenge this rule big time. Let’s start with Levi, the guy has always seemed chill but we get to see more of a scary side to him when he threatens to kill Ace if he doesn’t stop being an arsehole. We also have an interesting opening discussion with him and Eden where Levi confesses that he doesn’t see himself as a good person, contrary to what Eden thinks. This all gets revealed in the Class Trial when Levi admits that he doesn’t possess empathy and therefore cannot care about anyone around him, the fact he’s killed 4 people, one of whom being his own father and yet he treats it with the same disinterest as one would swat a fly, is very telling.
Fans were quick to diagnose Levi with Antisocial Personality Disorder, and this is where DT Dev actually impressed me big time. This disorder is one of the most maligned within society, even more so in my opinion then those on the autistic spectrum. The reason being is simple, almost every single time a fictional character is revealed to have this disorder they are almost always a psychopathic villain who kills everyone around them and gives zero shits. To say how damaging this stereotype is unbelievable and Levi is frankly the most realistic portrayal of someone with this disorder. Yes, Levi doesn’t have empathy, or a very low level of it, but he still tries to be a good person not because of morals and emotions, but more so out of a sense of duty, especially as before Levi revealed it nobody suspected a thing due to Levi not behaving like the usual stereotypes. He isn’t very good at it because he's trying to figure out how to be a good person which isn’t easy when it’s not instinct. When Ace asked if he cared about him at all and Levi responded with flat no, while Ace screamed at Levi in his usual manner, it’s clear the jockey was hurt by this reveal as a small part of him wanted to consider Levi a friend.
So, for Levi to then shield Teruko with his body from the gatling gun, not only comes as a massive shock but I believe this is Levi’s attempts of trying to prove he is a good person. Chances are, he wasn’t happy with how he handled the situation with Ace and wanted to prove something to him, so that’s why he protected Teruko, not only because thinking about it, Levi was probably one of the few characters who could survive that, but to try and redeem himself from how he mishandled the situation with Ace. And the effects of this are very clear as Ace, who was trying to prolong his death as much as possible, upon realising the only way to save Levi is for him to die, demands MonoTV to execute him. If someone without a clear concept of empathy can be a good person, then isn’t that proof humans can change?
Arei is another character who also wants to believe she can change. After she decides to become a good person, the bowler saves Eden from being threatened by Arturo and then later that night confronts David about the fact she knows he’s full of shit. We heard some of this originally from Ace who overheard the conversation, but when David is thinking about what to say to Eden, we hear the other half where Arei says she’s glad David is horrible because it means there is no such thing as a pure good person. That even someone like Eden might have done something nasty and if he’s so deprived then there’s hope left for her. She even offers a hand of friendship to David because she thinks they are one and the same, and they can improve their behaviour together. The fact David remembers this means the conversation had a meaningful impact on him, even though he doesn’t show it. What Arei is showing is clear existentialism or optimistic nihilism. Nihilism which I’m sure 75% of people reading this believe in, is where you believe nothing in the world matters because it’s all meaningless. Optimistic nihilism by contrast is saying that yes nothing matters, but that’s okay because you have the power to decide what is most important. Arei clearly believes there is no such thing as a pure good person, but what she can be is a slightly less shitty person then she was before.
And finally, there’s Ace. Ace’s motive for killing Arei is the fact he is scared of death, and that if he didn’t kill someone, then he would be killed. His reason for targeting Arei was simply coincidence, his original target was Eden but upon learning of Arei’s desire to change, decided to exploit that to target her. Ace also demonstrates a level of intelligence we haven’t seen from him before given that he was able to memorise how Nico tried to kill him, replicate that method, overpower Arei with a method unique to him and since everyone thinks Ace is dumb, he was able to pull the wool over their eyes and he could have damn well gotten away with it, especially with David’s stunt making so many convinced he was the one who killed Arei. Goes to show that people are not as stupid as you think. He gets chewed out big time by Teruko who calls him a coward, his motive is dumb and that Arei didn’t deserve to die because of that. However, even when facing death there is still a chance for character development and that comes when Levi eats a rain of bullets. Not only does this change Ace’s opinion on Levi considering he hated his guts before, but he gives Arturo a well-deserved callout who claims he doesn’t know how to treat Levi’s wounds because of his mix-maxed medical skills, but Ace calls him a coward saying as a surgeon he should know the basics and apply that skill to save Levi’s life or at least keep him alive as he gets executed. And yes, despite being as scared as possible for his death, he accepts it as it’s the only way to save Levi as the lift doors won’t open until he is executed.
Onto Ace’s execution I was pleasantly surprised as I have seen somewhere on YouTube an Ultimate Jockey Execution where the horses are used to tear the victim up, and I would have complained MASSIVELY if Ace went down a similar route. But no, the execution is more tailored to Ace’s fear of death by him escaping horror scenario after horror scenario, no wonder Veronika was orgasming over it, until when facing an execution squad, they shoot confetti and Ace suffers a heart attack and dies from fear. This is actually a real way people can die as during the 1970s, there was a string of cases where Hmong refugees would die from heart attacks in their sleep despite being healthy and middle-aged. Doctors at the time concluded that they were suffering nightmares so bad it would cause heart attacks and kill them in their sleep, and if this sounds familiar to you, it should as it was one of the inspirations behind A Nightmare on Elm Street. There’s a reason you shouldn’t scare someone with heart problems and while Ace might not have any heart issues, he has been suffering a lot of stress which could have made his heart rate dodgy and then the execution delivered.
These themes are extremely heavy hitting and I’m glad Despair Time is covering them. I could be wrong about them but that’s my theory on what they are.
Murderer Among Us
And finally, my last big positive about Despair Time’s Chapter 2 is the fact we not only get an attempted murder, with the plot twist the would-be victim would later become the culprit but the fact that this attempt didn’t succeed means the would-be murderer walks among the cast still and they have to deal with the consequences.
I have wanted this since Killing Harmony when Monokuma offered the tantalising prospect that if there are two blackeneds, only the first murder counts. So, when Korekiyo confesses to killing Tenko, the cast cannot vote for him because if he didn’t kill Angie, they would have got it wrong. I REALLY wanted it to be that Tenko was Angie’s killer, my logic being that Angie invited Tenko to her Talent Lab for a chat which got into a heated debate about how Angie was brainwashing Himiko and Tenko, who is quite hot-headed and doesn’t always think straight, accidently killed Angie in the heat of the moment. She would then either cover up her crime or someone else like the Mastermind would make the locked room mystery which the cast discovered and when Kiyo announces he is gonna do a séance, Tenko grows worried as if the séance is a success, Angie would reveal the culprit so Tenko offered to become the vessel which led to her death. You could also argue that maybe she sensed Korekiyo was up to something and did it to protect Himiko. Either way that would make for an interesting Chapter 4 because tensions between Korekiyo and Himiko would be high, but of course Kodaka doesn’t do anything with that and as a result we end up with 4 deaths, and 2 ruined chapters.
No other fanganronpa tried anything like this as they were all not willing to commit so I thank Despair Time wholeheartedly for actually having the balls to do so. As Nico, being pushed to their limit by Ace’s tormenting of them, which is very similar to how they are ostracised for being non-binary, meant they tried to commit murder by hanging Ace on the fans, but they not only miscalculated the strength of the fans but Ace woke up from being knocked unconscious and struggled awake. Before Nico could try again, Teruko and Eden showed up, foiling any would be attempt. Not only did Nico try to commit murder, but they betrayed the trust of both Hu who was trying to protect them but also Rose as Nico stole Hu’s wire and Rose’s turpentine to use for their murder scheme. What’s interesting is they didn’t apologise because they not only were not sorry for trying to kill Ace but know an apology won’t cut it. J gave Nico a very harsh verdict that even though their attempt was foiled, the point is they still tried to commit murder and was willing to give up the lives of everyone here for their own, and betrayed the trust of those who reached out to them. Hu hasn’t had a very good time this chapter because two of her closest friends; David and Nico, turned out to be using her for their own schemes, and we see the consequences of her mother hen nature. I feel a major theme for Chapter 3 is gonna be forgiveness as both Nico and David have burnt a lot of bridges this chapter and the fact they still live, means they need to somehow get back into the good graces of the group. How they do this I don’t know; David probably would be fine being a pariah but I’m not sure if Nico is wanting to make amends. They might, but they might also think they went too far. I do hope that Nico tries, especially after they have seen that even people like Levi and Ace were willing to act selflessly. And who knows, maybe David might try but I think it would be a ruse, which will still work because this cast isn’t the brightest.
Does this mean Nico would be a survivor? I don’t know as I do believe between David and Nico, one will be a survivor and the other will die, probably as a victim but who I cannot tell as Chapter 3 would probably expand upon these two a bit more. Regardless I’m glad this is being touched upon and I for one am looking forward to see where it takes Nico.
And that’s all the positives I have to say about Chapter 2. Teruko had a good character arc, I like how we know the main themes, we know who presumably the partners and rival characters are, we have an attempted murderer walking among the cast, quite a few characters like Levi, Arei and Ace got moments to shine and the execution was well done. But it cannot be all sunshine and rainbows. As much as there is good, there is also bad so when we come back next time, I’m gonna talk about what didn’t go well for Chapter 2 and what DT Dev could do to improve things.
Until then, see ya! -Review Anon

Hiii gamers! As i promised yesterday, today i am here to finally do the doomsday idol cult infodump....i would like to first thank my oomfies @orangelovesyoumore and @sotogalmo for wanting to hear abt it, giggling :3
I was gonna post it directly into the post i made, but i wanted to put some tags into it since i wrote a lot and wants this to get some traction, so here we go <3
1. What the HELL is the idol doomsday cult?
The actual name for it is "Golden Flight", and it is a fictional cult that i am making right now, with my friend @chioniphilia actually making one of the people who participate in it. This cult is part of the Alien Stage universe, it started first as just the backstory of one of my ocs, but i thought it had a lot of potential, so i thought about turning it into its own thing, away from the main plot of Alien Stage (since i can't make it a completely original thing as it is really tied to the unvierse of ALSNT)
The cult is commanded by an alien that no one knows the name of, but whom is called "Father" by everyone who is a part of it, they don't make a lot of public appearances, but all the humans who are brought into the cult know about them, with them being mostly this "divine" figure that is always looming around and knowing everything they are doing. The main idea of the cult is that the universe is quickly shrinking, and that one day, there will no longer be enough space for everyone, and when this happens, aliens will first start killing their pet humans and then kill each other, however, there is a planet that will stay there until the end, and the people who live there will all live and one day live in harmony - with this including both the aliens and the humans. (i know the aliens in the alsnt universe have their own name but i forgot what it is so im just saying alien)
This harmony presented in this small group of survivors is said to be due to them all sharing "the same soul", with them all having this dream of living in a world full of peace and with no suffering in it, being seen as "divine beings" who, even if they die, will "take flight to the paradise" as they are pure.
Of course, most of these things are hidden from most people, with this community being seen as a "training place" for humans to become idols - a little like a competitor to ANAKT Garden, which i'll explain further down <3
2. Ok, if it is a cult that is all about "everyone living in harmony", why did you only say that humans partake in it?
For the people in the cult, the explanation given to the humans who are taken care of by "Father" is that they are trying to get as many humans as possible there as a way to "pay for the aliens mistakes", saying that they will help as many humans as possible survive this apocalypse since they know true pain and thus will know how to not make the same mistakes the aliens made related to how the other species are treated.
But in reality? They get humans into the cult because not only it makes no one be suspicious of them (since humans are just seen as pets, with no one really caring about their suffering or whatnot) but also because for them, it is a lot easier to convince these humans to come willingly to the cult - the situation that most of them find themselves is dire and without a lot of hope to it, so thus, "Father" knows that the promises of a new universe where they have a participation in and can leave peacefully is enough to make most of them come, or even the promise of revenge agaisnt those who wronged them.
In the end, they do have aliens in it as well, however, the human to alien ratio in the cult is very afar from one another in my head.
3. Where the part of "idol" comes from?
OK SO NOW THIS IS THE PART I LIKE THE MOST TO TALK ABOUT AND WHAT MADE ME START THIS WHOLE THING!!!
The part of "Idol" comes from the main form the cult has of putting out propaganda for it without it being obvious what they are doing: through songs, and this is done by an idol group sponsored by a corporation in the ALSNT universe called "Eden Dreams" (which is actually a shell corporation comanded by the cult), and this is where the name of the cult actually comes from, as the group is called "Golden Flight"
The group consists of 12 members in it, with each one of them having one color representing them (the colors being red, blue, cyan, green, yellow, orange, purple, pink, brown, black, white and grey) which are the only colors they can use - this is not only in their clothes, but also in their hair, eyes, makeup and so on, with most of them going through surgeries to be of the colors assigned to them. The surgeries they can go through are also to be more "marketable" to the aliens. All of the members of the group are winners of past seasons of Alien Stage.
The members of the group change over time, as every time one of the members end up dying or "disappearing", a group of people is chosen by "Father" to be trained to take the spot, which them being given placements - then, this group of people is given an intense training just like the former member did, and, when they are done, the "best one" in the group is chosen to be put in Alien Stage as their "final test" while the others stay, if this person wins, they go through the surgeries in their appearance and become the new member, if not, the next in line is sent to the next one and so it goes until one wins. The reason as to why members of the cult want to become members of this group so badly is due to the propaganda "Father" spreads, saying that all those 12 people who are in the idol group are the "purest" ones there, and they will be the ones who will take care of all the survivors when the day of the apocalypase comes. (although most members in this idol group range from the age of 15-25)
This idol group is EXTREMELY popular in the ALSNT universe, not only because of all the money the cult puts behind them, but also because the members of it are actually good at what they do, and the fact they are winners of Alien Stage make them get even more attention. Their songs normally have themes related to peace, friendship and harmony to them, spreading the ideas of the cult of "everyone having the same soul", which makes them be popular not only to aliens, but also to be seen as inspirations to other humans.
The 12 members of the cult are also the only ones who know of "Father"s true identity, as they are called their "children", and thus can interact directly with them, and the members of it call each other "brothers" and "sisters".
The training they go through is not only related to learning how to compose, sing and dance, but they are also trained to not fear death nor to have empathy towards their "enemies" (the people they go agaisnt in Alien Stage and other people who might not want to join the cult) as these people are only doing that out of "being agaisnt the universe's peace", and thus they shall be punished by dying and being sent to the limbo, to forever know they didn't take the opportunity to be in a better place. The members of the group are extremely controlled, however, they also partake in controlling the cult - since they have direct contact to "Father", they are the ones who always tell them when something happens in the cult and if one of the members is "misbehaving", which makes them be punished properly.
I don't have all members of it planned, having only made the orange one and with my friend making the red one...........So if anyone wants to make one idol for it hit me up!! ^-^
4 - How does the cult get new members in it?
1 - One of the ways they find new members (and which is also easier) is to go to the slums and other places where humans live in precary situations. When they go to these areas, the members (who are always groups of humans) take care of the people living there, giving them food, medicine and other things that they normally have trouble finding, and, after some days, when they are leaving, they ask these people to come alongside them, promising all these things and more if they go, and, as these humans do not have owners, no one really notices that they have went there.
2 - Fan meetings. One of the things the idol group does is make fan meetings, with them normally doing some for only human pets as well, in these meetings, the members analyze which pet humans seem to not have stable homes or be victims of bad owners. When this happens, they find a way to discover where this human lives, and they take them forcefully to the "paradise" without their owner knowing where they went, this or they manipulate and help this human in "getting rid" of their owner, helping them "find somewhere to hide" afterwards.
3 - The Eden Dreams program. It is a "program" made by the shell corporation mentioned before. Basically, as all members of Golden Flight are winners of Alien Stage, the cult will offer this program where they will train pet humans to become "winners" as well. If an alien pays for it, the human is taken into the cult for training (all the things an idol needs to know + the brainwashing), where they will go through it for years without any contact with their owner (as they say this will "distract them") and, when the cult deems the human as "worthy", they are sent to ALSNT - if this human dies, their owner is returned 60% of the money they invested in the program, but if the human wins, they are sent back to their owner, with the cult receiving 30% of any money the owner gets from the human's success. Also sometimes they do the same as the second way and make the human "disappear" to get them back into the cult but ykyk.
I didn't knew how to break my other thoughts from the actual infodump so im using this image..........I have some things here and there made for the cult as well but idk how to organize them here, so i'm here just to say: if you guys are interested in this idea and wanna know more about it, please send questions in my inbox or in my dms, PLEASE I LOVE TALKING ABT THIS I GEN WANT TO MAKE AN ASKBLOG FOR THE IDOL GROUP AUEUEEUEUEUE
Also again if anyone wants to make an oc for the cult feel free to do so to..................Again thank you all for reading this love yall so much <3

i mean its no secret who i am since i heavily advertised my audio drama on this blog, and thats written under my real name obviously, so im gonna talk about last weekend
my father offered to take me down to the cemetery and show me where all our family’s people are buried. as someone who has struggled with understanding my blood connections for a variety of reasons, i jumped at the chance.
he shows me a few branches of people from as far back as his father’s grandparents’ generation. while we’re walking, i make a joke about how all these people lived so i could turn out trans. (NOT self-deprecating. in the most literal and appreciative way, but still a joke because not every part of being trans is easy and my dad has been with me every step of the way. it’s its own separate post how much my dad loves having me as his son. anyway.)
so i meet clinton and elizabeth, and earl and hattie (yes im REALLY white), and then we go over and meet some of the pipers, who i actually knew when i was extremely little as my great-grandparents. i always knew my middle name came from this evelyn, so i brought it up, and my dad said, “yeah, you were named after both of them, her and her husband, james. but everyone always called him by his middle name fred for some reason. but because of them you were named jaimie evelyn.”
bro i was like what. do you ever feel like life sends in patch updates to retcon shit??
i was like you have NEVER told me i was named after this man. you have ALWAYS told me that you and [That Woman We Don’t Talk About] just liked the name jaimie?????
he was like no, you were named after both my grandparents on this side.
ok????? i guess thats canon going forward whatever, im named after two people instead of just my middle name
personally i always liked the idea of naming someone from scratch, for lack of a better term, and i always thought that was what happened with me, but in that moment it all kind of sunk in that at the end of their lives these people would’ve met this tiny little baby-blond brand new person who still needed lots of help with everything from eating to sleeping to speaking, and my parents made a gesture that said their time in this family will continue to shape the future of it
and jaimie evelyn grew up, found his way back to their graves, and stood there as a complete person. he weeded strangers’ headstones covered over with leaves on the way. from all the way back then until now, he turned out alright.
the thing that got me thinking about all this was how much i appreciate still carrying both those names forward through transitioning. i get nervous handing over my ID in public because even though i am typically correctly gendered by strangers, its always a gamble whether they’ll see “evelyn” now and take offense to that feminine tag. if the person im “supposed” to be will crumble before their eyes and they’ll start to see the rounded afab features. i dont want the name evelyn to feel like a “giveaway.” because. thats me.
but i was getting dressed for work this morning and thinking about how, when things were different, its possible my father thought his “daughter” would not want to have been named after a man. maybe! maybe it genuinely was an accidental miscommunication, too. maybe he did say it right once and i forgot. maybe the world is the matrix and im the main character and it got retconned. all equally possible!
i remembered him stressing the timelines of the women in our family when i asked about them. there are several different surnames to remember from wives like hattie and elizabeth. i was glad to be told their names and to honor that part of them, too.
so i was standing there in front of the mirror doing up my buttons and thinking about how much i adore being jaimie evelyn, named after james. it’s very satisfying to be who i am now and to know i was given the mantle of a male relative’s name. i’m accepted. i’m the next. but i also would not give up evelyn for the world. i’m all the men and women of my family. there will be others after me, but this time is mine and im living it to the fullest. while keeping both names.
i just think there is plenty of honor to be had in embracing males with explicitly feminine names, from feminine roots. not because “it could be a man’s name too!”
because its important that i was named after evelyn. if i hadn’t been named after her, who would have?
if someone sees the name jaimie evelyn on my license and thinks they’ve caught onto my cheap trick, thinks im a creep who can’t afford to get my name changed but would if i could, thinks im a liar who wants to bury the person i was and live life as an impostor — i wouldnt be able to explain anything to someone like that, but i just want the world to know that you actually couldnt pry jaimie evelyn out of my hands.
my family gave me permission to be here, to be myself, and they are letting me define what the mantle now is.
even if i didnt have their permission, it would be no take-backsies, so thats good. but im very hopeful for a future wherein these lines continue to be blurred in such a way that all the stigma of sexism and transphobia are stripped away and the notion of simple honor and pride are carried forward
lets all be who we are, okay????
#im not tagging this bc who knows what t***s might do with THIS level of personal information#be cool guys ok

I’m seeing more tagged ruin slander so I’m gonna tag some ruin positivity
Guys, hear me out. Villain characters can be good characters, you with me? Villain characters can be good characters even if you don’t like them. I’m half sure that Davis had Solar, the popular side character, be caught in the crossfire of Ruin’s plans so that viewers would take Ruin seriously. The unfortunate side effect of that was the viewer’s general opinion of Ruin plummeting.
It’s one thing for Ruin’s plan to come to fruition, in which he destroys countless dimensions. It would be fair to have everyone act like said event was bad, and be horrified. But, it’s another thing to have the consequences of that event directly impact the main characters, which kickstarts the next arc.
This is to say, Solar’s death was optional, Davis could’ve just said that the Creator from Solar’s dimension was also a complicated situation like the main one is. I think that Davis had Solar die so that there was weight to Ruin’s actions. No one would’ve cared if Ruin deleted thousands of dimensions if it just stopped at that.
I think Moon would’ve reacted to Solar’s death mostly the same way no matter how Solar died, it just happened to happen during a period of near-constant stress for Moon, and if you gave him a person to blame for that death… well. Here we are.
I love Ruin, and maybe this is coming from a biased perspective because he’s the character that convinced me to watch TSAMS. As a new viewer, I started off in the “jigsaw” portion of the show and then watched the recap.
I was a little disappointed that “jigsaw” was cured, I liked Ruin a lot better when he was unapologetically maniacal and played the game by his own rules and sang his silly theatre songs. But, the new Ruin grew on me in time. (Imagine my pleasant surprise when it turned out that Ruin was acting the whole time!)
Whether you believed Ruin was always evil or not prior to the reveal, I think he was always an enjoyable character, an outsider that didn’t have a reason to care about anything that happened in the show prior. He would certainly use show events (villains like Bloodmoon and Eclipse) to his advantage, but he had no reason to feel any sort of way towards any of the main characters.
But, as a villain, I think his motive is solid on paper— I personally think they could’ve had a little more showing how Ruin was affected by his past, but decades of acting would cover that up pretty well, huh?— and the twist was something the viewers were probably meant to pick up on, with characters like Moon constantly ending episodes with “I have a bad feeling about that guy” and Ruin being the main suspect of several things and a few comments on the similarities between jigsaw and ruin (like the tune they both hum.) You were waiting to see when Ruin’s time would run out. But when it did, it was too late.
As far as I know, Ruin is one of the villains that got (mostly) what he wanted, what he set out to do. While it didn’t work 100%, it definitely worked partially.
I really like that Ruin is an eclipse in the context of the show, but I love that he’s an eclipse in a slightly different font. In the context of the show, Eclipse is the remnant killcode left behind in Sun when the brothers seperate. It’s established that Eclipses tend to be workaholics (not stopping until they complete a goal, which afterwards they don’t know what to do with themselves), usually get themselves killed, and want to be accepted or loved in some capacity. However, Ruin came to be by the combining of the brothers. He technically has all of the components of an Eclipse, and generally has the same traits as one. He worked to complete his goal, and didn’t care if he died or not after everything was said and done. He adapted to his situation to avoid dying, acting infected (which probably became a coping mechanism over time) and maybe silently mourning the loss of the world and people he knew. He wouldn’t have set out to kill the other Creators if what his Creator did didn’t personally impact him in some way. I believe that the last trait is a bit of an exception when it comes to Ruin— or maybe it’s something that he’s grown out of over the years. He doesn’t feel the need to belong to a group anymore, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t try in his own dimension.
I also agree with the sentiment that Ruin’s story isn’t over yet. Davis could have easily killed him off soon after the reveal and Solar’s death, but he’s still contributing to the B plot.
I don’t know how I’d feel about a Ruin redemption arc. I see Ruin as the sort of character to be fully convinced of his own perspective, and has realized and accepted the consequences of his actions but won’t say that what he did was wrong. He’s an anti-villain— a character in a story that does bad things in the name of good. He had good intentions, but he went the extreme route.
But, I also want to see him alive and well and happy, and if a redemption arc is what it takes for that to happen, then I guess I could learn to like it. I severely doubt that the rest of the main cast would allow for any one of those things though.
I just realized that this is getting long, but, I really like Ruin both as jigsaw and eclipse. I like that he defines himself as an actor, slash compulsive liar, in order to survive and fit in. I like that he’s a little dorky, a theatre kid at heart and watches things like anime on a few occasions. His body language is charming, and he’s super fun to watch move around and dance and wave his hands. Davis’ vocal performance is very satisfying and fitting for a character like Ruin, and is a big part of his charm as a character.
I like that he has a tragic backstory, one that he sometimes references in half-lies, and was forced to grow and adapt for it, which lead to him choosing the end-all solution to what caused him pain in the past, under the guise of preventing future tragedy. He says he’s doing it to save people, but I think he wanted closure to his own traumas and revenge, in a way. At least, I think that’s more realistic than Ruin caring about dimensions being torn apart by errant creators. He doesn’t care that the dimensions die via the creators— he doesn’t want what happened to him be repeated to others, if that makes sense? It just happened to be that the Creator was the cause of that, and the Creator’s motive (studying the effects of the wither storm) was what disgusted Ruin. Everything that happened to Ruin’s dimension and family was done in the name of research. I would be furious too! But, because Ruin is an eclipse, he was smart enough to figure out how to go about his closure/revenge/preventing future tragedy. Mind, he says he’s not as smart as Dark sun who’s been shown to be dimension hopping and whatnot, but he’s definitely been able to study other dimensions extensively.
One thing about Ruin that I found a little bit odd was that he was able to use magic. Not that there’s a reason for him not to have it, or that it’s a bad thing, it’s just something that you don’t expect from a character like Ruin. But it does make sense, given the dimension stuff, combining of moon and sun, etcetera.
TLDR I think Ruin is a worthwhile character in TSAMS and we shouldn’t dogpile him because he killed a popular side character, and please stop tagging character hate I just want to see my boy. okay goodnight
