I love your art so much. There is something so distinctive about how tender and warm you draw Vasco and Machete and I love it all it just makes my heart melt. I love the dynamic of the catholic queer identity you have for them it's so distinctive and you do it so well. Keep up the amazing work, you are honestly one of my favorite if not my favorite artist you bring me so much comfort with your work.

#I can't really articulate how much it means to me to hear all of this #all of this Vasco+Machete stuff is something that had been stewing within me for years before I started to draw and post it publicly #I distinctly remember feeling so embarrassed and awkward and reluctant to share my OC lore and such #because I was certain that the religious angle would make it instantly unrelatable and unpalatable #or even upsetting to some viewers which isn't my intention #all of these aspects are significant to me personally but I genuinely didn't think that catholicism history furries and queer themes #would be a combination that so many people would be willing to accept and examine so readily #let alone find comforting and worth engaging with #answered #porchpoltergeist #I'm still fighting the “oh no I'm so cringe aren't I” dread on a regular basis #I suspect it's never going to go away entirely #but that might be the cost of letting a bunch of people see you do something you're unironically passionate about I suppose

#ffxiv #digital art #zenos yae galvus #venat #endwalker spoilers #will forever be fascinated with this man #look guys look- the literal embodiment of wol's wings of hope LOL (and me going hehe about that and footfalls)#the part of me that adores digging into the nuance of character writing (intentional or otherwise) is just latched onto zenos #and venat-- they cant just give us two characters who get really important 1v1 duels #and ask really important questions #and love the MC and are willing to risk themselves so unconditionally #and have them not live rent free in my brain #--and maybe this tiptoes into the realm of crack theory so beware there will be a lot past here--#but I cant help but think zenos is akin to an oracle or warrior of light but was tempered/corrupted by zodiark #or some strange happenstance of varis (who shares visual traits to golbez before 6.0 ever came out and the dark mana burst)#and carosa (who it seems zenos got his looks from- and he already looks like he has ties to venat and argos like minfillia does)#was he a result of the eternal chess match between the two parties' machinations? or just some strange twist of fate?#another day of him being “emet's successful experiment” (again- intentional or no) making me thonk #theres something so strange about the final days dreams and how dark aspected he is- that his void abilities are more tied to him tbh #yet his mannerisms beyond just what he's been through almost reminds me of light corruption and the uncanny calmness #we see in most beings associated with the light in any significant way and like second phase eden shiva #he almost has all the marks of someone who shouldve already had the echo or blessing of light but for one reason or another #was unable to hear hydaelyns call #of course it doesnt help i mentally associate him with connections to zero and how she was corrupted before she was even born #and durante- who states uncanny ability and connection with light and darkness and yet favors dark magic more #i simply live with the idea that zenos' soul was an eternally faithful companion to wol's and #this time the cardinal sin of separating the pair finally happened to rather dire consequences lmao

So I've recently realized that murderbot's been translated into my native language and it's apparently a he in the translation (which admittedly makes sense, because it's a heavily gendered language and 1. gender-neutral language doesn't really exist in general and 2. "bot" and all the related words - I believe they use "droid" for mb in the translation - are grammatically masculine).

It made me curious how it's been handled in other translations though!

*e.g. being referred to by multiple gendered nouns/pronouns depending on the context, like both "bot" (masculine) and "machine" (feminine).

For anyone wondering: we never did find the seed for the Limited Life server. But we're all a bit insane, so with a bit of time and dedication, and the combined efforts of Pixie, Lyric, and team member Lavi, we managed to recreate a large portion of the map almost block-for-block. It made for one heck of a finale closer, and we had a blast putting this together!

...we almost might just be insane enough to try and expand this project out to the other known areas of the map, just for fun...but that's a project for another day. :3

Personally, I think Andrew would really like the song "I Sent My Therapist To Therapy" by Alec Benjamin. I think he would find it super amusing. He plays it for Neil one day and asks him if he ghostwrote it. Neil isn't amused. He then plays it for Bee one day in therapy, and she finds it much more amusing, though he finds the following questions and analysis of why he finds it relatable were less so. Secretly, though, Bee is just happy that Andrew found something that he liked enough that he cared to share it.

just went and listened to the usum version of ghetsis’ battle theme and it’s actually got me feeling like this image

like. you mentioned the whips cracking. you didn’t mention the way it sounds like pure bloodlust. i don’t know what it is about it but it sounds like sheer hatred and evil. it doesn’t even sound like a pokémon boss theme. it sounds like the song itself is trying to kill me. and like it could. this is a ghetsis theme with a PUNCH to it. i am viscerally uncomfortable just listening. and i LOVE it. what on earth did they put in it. that is the definitive version of his theme now

IT'S SUCH A GOOD THEME. They somehow manage to make it sound more threatening than the original which is a feat. And it fits so well with the context being that this Ghetsis won in the world he came from. The song itself just sounds cruel, it's perfectly fitting for the version of him who succeeded in conquering Unova.

Just everything about it fills you with this sense of dread that you got from the original but it feels so much more intense here. Every time I listen to it, it makes my skin crawl, it's so great.

#thanks for the ask <3 #come join me in “ghetsis' usum theme is the superior ghetsis theme” land #it takes what makes the original so intimidating and then crank it up to eleven #it's not even mimicking arceus' theme anymore and it's still so scary #putting this in the tags because i'm rambling and being less coherent here #like i mentioned in my response #the song itself sounds cruel and it does share that trait with the original #but like you said this one has a punch to it #along with being fitting for the ghetsis that was able to win #it's so fitting of the cruelty that that goes along with being able to commit the acts needed to get to that point #and that includes maybe killing n #idk it just becomes all the more terrifying on top of everything else when you think about what had to be done #for ghetsis to get what he wanted #truly a theme fitting for someone willing to kill children and to kill his own son in a heartbeat if it could benefit him #it sounds so evil and if he *did* kill n if he did all the things he needed to do to win #then it makes sense #a more evil sounding song for a version of ghetsis #who did much eviler things to get where he is #gaaahhh sorry for rambling i just think about ghetsis in usum a lot

Somehow I forgot it was Arthur who introduced Jack to Lucy. Kinda funny if you think about how their relationship will later evolve - what a massive cringe fail guy 😭

I love how the first description of Seward is "hot rich successful doctor who's smart and cool", and then when you actually meet him, he's just the most pathetic wet cat emo guy who really needs a good nap and a hug. I love him lmao.

#also it's interesting to see how he *could* be a good match for Mina #because they share so many characteristics - especially intellectually - and Mina values that #obviously later on we see how well they hit off #but it's still interesting to think about it and then put him in contrast with Jonathan #who's kind and brave and much more willing to trust his emotions/intuitions and keep an open mind #in contrast to jack who's way too rational and pragmatic for his own good. not that it's a bad thing but you need some balance #idk where i'm even going with this lmao #just excited to hear from one Doctor John Seward soon 🤭#dracula #dracula daily #re: dracula #lucy westenra #john seward
