someone needs to bully me into finishing the 1st chap of the doorkeay/gerrymichael fic i keep in my drafts!

bc i genuinely rly like the concept it's just that I've no motivation. PICTURE THIS:

Dr Who au, where Gertrude is "Archivist of what?" and changes assistants that keep dying through time for "the greater cause". She has a friend named Gerard who's not immortal like her but it's a time traveler and obviously, he's met his fair share of assistants but he never could have guessed their fate. So when he saw the cute new guy, who was his age, they had a nice chat, light teasing and that was it.

with the places that Gertrude would take Micheal, the times she would bring him to... the things he would go through, after he lived through so much and watched what happened to her as well... it didn't even cross his mind to think it would be cruel to be happy at finding Gerry again. No. He just had to take him with. Maybe find the original Gerry. He would sure like to try.

and what if I say Luffy only says things that he thinks are important or fun facts

and what if i say that the crew doesn't know he loses a chunk of his lifespan every time he uses the gears because he doesn't think it's important

and waht if i saaay he just thinks it's irrelevant because in the grand scheme of things his longevity seems like a small price for keeping his friends safe and achieving his and their goals

and whaaat if i saaaaaayyy that in the final battle, they win and he reverts back from gear 5 or 6 or whatever level he reaches and before passing out he smiles and says "I'm the pirate king. it was worth it."

aaaaannd what if i saaayyyyy that chopper finds him like five minutes after that, everyone else is overjoyed and celebrating, some are halfheartedly looking for him but too happy that it's hard to do anything but cheer in victory. but Chopper's smile fades because Luffy's smiling, yes, but his body's cold and his heart is no longer beating to the rhythm of any drums. the cheers never stop as the dawning realization falls on him and he can do little to supress the scream of agony.

and what if i say. that Luffy becomes the pirate king and lives out his dream just before he can finally rest.

omg tyyyy :")) but also answers to some of the stuff you asked: none of the connections are directly referencing characters from dr who. mostly I'll be using the world building and some iconic elements/creatures. But some stuff is strongly changed, for example: the Archivist dies and comes back in a new body BUT! the new body doesn't remember almost anything from the last one ((SPOILERS!)yes, I'm bringing Jon into the fic(more spoilers in the tags btw))

so gerry isn't gonna be a version of jack(as much as i like him), but yes, the idea of a time traveler who knows the dr (now archivist) but is also a solo agent came from him :))

Sanji keeps finding things to make into a scandal because the only way Zoro pays any attention to him. He's always so indifferent, either sleeps, eats or fights others. Sanji tries to get his attention - buying lingerie, cooking his favorite food, getting the expensive booze, planning elaborate dates. Nothing works. Nothing works until Sanji starts picking fights and throwing dishes at him. It seemed that the more Sanji tried, the bigger the distance between them because. If Sanji didn't know any better, he would have thought Zoro was avoiding him or straight up running from him... But it felt like Zoro gave up on him.

Zoro doesn't understand what Sanji is always upset with. They had everything but he kept on pushing for things that Zoro didn't care for. The lingerie was pointless because it would end up on the floor or ripped up (if Zoro was in the mood, which was rarely the case nowadays). Zoro didn't get why Sanji hovered around him at every meal or drink, like he was waiting for something to happen and then got upset when nothing ever did. Zoro didn't want to fuel the fire so he always just decided that giving him space to breathe was best. He never cared for the fancy places Sanji took him, or the weird activities he took him to. It all just made him tired. But then when he tried to sleep, Sanji would get pissed off. Every conversation with Sanji seemed to end up with a fight or with Sanji storming off disappointed. Zoro hated it so he started avoiding Sanji as much as he could. It just felt like Sanji felt obligated to stay in a relationship that he hated being with.
