the burromuertos are a dysfunctional family

So, I've been seeing an influx of 'the Burromuertos are a healthy family' and hi. No the fuck they are not. It's subtext. No one with a functional family acts remotely like Alejandro does.

Firstly, the most obvious:

No one in Alejandro's family appears remotely concerned that their son/brother was sealed in a robot suit after being fatally injured for a year. The first time we see any member of his family is when Jose comes onto the show to beat him up. That screams healthy family dynamics.

His reaction to being called Al is far from normal. It is a sign of Jose bullying him - it reads like a trigger. It is an encapsulation of Jose's disrespect towards Alejandro and how he is always second place.

His competitive streak and how he prioritises winning over interpersonal relationships

How this man does not know how to navigate interpersonal relationships in a genuine and authentic ways.

Okay, those are my claims. But where's my evidence?

Gestures at Alejandro's whole schtick. But also:

"José always have to win, always, he live to make me miserable! ... He punches me in the arm and called me Al just because I hate it!"

These words speak of a deeply antagonistic brotherly relationship that is incredibly competitive - it is implied that Alejandro's parents pit the two of them against each other, resulting in an incredibly unhealthy sibling dynamic, akin to the al-Jamil's in The Good Place.

It is also (more indirectly) implied that Alejandro has had his food restricted - given that his 'body is a temple' and he refuses to eat the candy, giving it to Cody instead. Again, this feeds into the idea that Alejandro's parents raised him with the expectation to be perfect, in mind, body and spirit - and that is unhealthy. Like, having a little bit of candy won't kill you, I promise. The expectations that Alejandro's parents put on him are clearly crushing and destroying his ability to interact with his peers normally outside the context of a competition. That boy needs therapy and a healthy support network, stat. He cares about his achievements at the expense of his health and personal relationships.

That is learned behaviour.

Anyway. We (the dysfunctional burromuerto writers) are not making it up for the sake of angst. We are extrapolating a valid interpretation from the text by interpreting subtext and implication and sometimes, quite frankly, the shows' literal lines.

It was a normal day. You had just finished work and was off to meet your best friend Chan. This was a normal day for you, the same routine for the past couple years, when you finished work you would walk over to Chan's place for a catch up and sometimes dinner. You had known Chan since you moved to the city, the boy instantly became connected to you and made you feel supported.

But what you didn't know about were his dark intentions and thoughts. Chan instantly fell for you the moment he met you, he thought it was love at first sight. But he never went for it. At first he was shy about it, but over time those thoughts and feelings grew, and he always felt especially jealous when you spoke to other males. He wanted to whisk you away from them, but was just waiting for the right time to do it. If he rushed, he could lose you forever.

So when you arrived at Chan's place, only to see his younger brother Felix leaving and the way you hugged the younger boy, Chan's jealousy rose. He was practically green.

"Hey it's great to see you!" Felix exclaimed cheerfully as he hugged you.

"Likewise, bud. How are things?" You asked.

"Great I-"

"Yeah he's great and was just leaving."

You looked at Chan, to see him leaning in the doorway of his apartment. His arms crossed as he looked at you, a stone cold expression on his face. You felt confused, why was he being so cold suddenly?

"I'll text you later. Don't stay too long." Felix whispered before he left.

You watched as he walked down the hall, a sudden confusion hit you at his words, why wouldn't you stay too long? You then turned back to Chan, the sudden coldness was gone, the warm Chan was back, he smiled sweetly at you and moved out the way, letting you into his apartment. You wasn't sure if to ask him about what Felix said or not.

"How was work, darling?" He asked sweetly.

"It was the same old." You answered plainly.

"Of course it was. Well I ordered some food and it should arrive any moment, I got your favourite~" He sang.

"Sounds good. While we wait I have a question." You said, taking a seat on the sofa.

"Ask away, babe." He said, sitting next to you.

"Why were you so rude to Felix just now?" You asked.

Chan looked at you blankly before laughing. Yes, he laughed. As if you just told a joke.

"Oh your so funny, I wasn't rude to him. It's just brotherly love." He said, defending himself.

"No, you were rude." You responded.

Chan stopped laughing and looked at you again. This time, you saw a dark glimmer in his eyes.

"I just told you, sweetheart, I wasn't rude, he was leaving anyways." He said, a visible change in his tone of voice.

You felt your blood run cold at his dark tone. Chan had never spoken to you like that before. Weirdly enough, there was a small part of you that liked it.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. You knew it was the food. Chan got up to go collect it, giving you a moment alone to think. It wasn't long enough to think about much as Chan soon arrived with the food, a smile on his face.

"You okay?" You asked softly.

"Of course, let's eat." He answered.

With that, you two both started to eat. You were happy Chan remembered your favourite food and ordered it for you. You quietly ate and watched the TV, when suddenly, your phone rang.

"Hello?" You called as you picked up the phone.

"Y/n, are you still with Chan?" It was Felix.

"Uh yeah, we're just eating." You told him.

Chan looked at you with a dark expression, his now empty plate placed on the side table.

"Hang up." He mouthed to you.

"Y/n get out now. I'll explain later but you need to leave, Chan's crazy!" Felix exclaimed down the phone.

"What are you tal-"

Your phone was suddenly taken out of your hand and thrown across the room. You looked at Chan in shock.

"I told you to hang up." He said with a chuckle.

"You....You just threw my phone!" You shouted in shock.

"You should have listened, darling~" He said.

"I was trying to listen to Felix!" You exclaimed. Big mistake.

"Felix this, Felix that. What about me!" He shouted.

You looked at him. What about him? When you didn't reply, Chan scoffed and shook his head.

"Do I really have to break it down, sweetheart? Your mine. I don't like when you talk about or to Felix, or another man in general. Your mine! You were made for me!" He exclaimed.

"I'm your friend, Chan. You can't own me." You said. Mistake number two.

Chan chuckled darkly. He thought you were so funny. He knew he would have fun breaking you.

"Oh sweet Y/n. Yes I can, your mine and only mine~" He said in a sweet tone.

You glanced at the door, thinking you could make a run for it. You were quick to make a dash for it, however Chan already thought of that, he locked the door with an extra tight bolt after the delivery guy arrived. You tugged at the handle but it didn't budge one bit. Chan laughed and clapped from behind you.

"Just relax, my love~" He whispered.

Chan quickly grabbed you, pinning you to the wall. You tried to fight, but Chan was too strong. As you fought, you didn't see him pulling out a wet cloth with his free hand, until it was too late.

"Night my honey, just remember, I love you."

Those were the last words you heard before darkness over took and you collapsed into Chan's arms.

He watched you. He watched you all the time. When you ate. When you played video games with Bucky and the Spider Boy. When you read your books (which to be honest, seemed very boring and unculturated. You should rather read Shakespeare than those silly love novels in Loki's opinion). It was kinda creepy, but he couldn't stop watching you. It was like an addiction.

And right know, he watched you swimming in the lake, next to the compound. They all sat outside, today was the first real summer day. Normally, Loki hated those sunny days. It was much too bright outside. But she was there. So he followed them, because he couldn't stand the fact, that something inside him hurt strangely when she was not there.

Peter Parker and Wanda had companied you and you three laughed over something, splashed water into each others faces. Loki stopped reading his book and raised his head. You laughed while Peter tried to lift you up on his shoulders. Wanda almost drowned of laughter. Your hair was wet and splashed into Peter's face as you jumped on his back. The boy laughed and catched you.

Jealousy speared Loki's heart for a split second. But he wiped that feeling away. Why was he even feeling like that? It was just Spider Boy. It was just you. A simple human. But a beautiful human.

Your red bikini was a harsh contrast to the sparkling blue water around you. And even from his place over here, under the big tree, Loki could see the joy on your face. Your blue eyes seemed to shone brighter than the sun.

He kinda wished he could join you guys. What a silly wish. He never swam in a lake. Why was he so stupid all of a sudden? But the truth was, he catched himself being more and more stupid the last couple weeks and months. Loki noticed these things. First, he didn't acknowledge you at all. But as time passed, and as he spend more time with you - forcefully through dinners and Avengers meetings - he realised that you weren't just a simple human. You weren't boring like every other human. You were fun and Loki catched himself a few times laughing at something you said.

You two weren't friends, hell no. But you shared some comfy conversations. And it was nice. Your company was nice. It didn't feel forced. He didn't feel like a failure with you. And he sometimes felt that when talking to Tony or Steve, because they always remembered him of his actions in New York. But you didn't. You kinda reminded him of his mother. Calm and with a ethereal beauty.

And Loki catched himself thinking more often of you. He wished those conversations with you would last longer. Or go deeper. The other day, you asked him about his religion, about the nine worlds. And even though you already knew a lot (Thor teached you, you were really close with Thor) you still asked him. And he loved those conversations with you. He loved the way your eyes widened, when he told you about the cruel and sometimes brutal behaviours of the gods (especially Odin). He loved the way your face lighted up when you told him about your home and your dreams for the future. And God's, he loved your smile. It was so warm and it seemed like the world lit up when you smiled. It was addicting.

And he couldn't help but notice your scent. It lingered in your hair and sometimes, when you moved, your long hair brushed his skin. And a warm shudder ran through his body. Your scent was in his nose when he would fall asleep. And even though he felt all those things for a plain human, Loki loved it.

A shadow fell over his book and he heard the squeaking of the chair as someone sat down next to Loki. It was his brother (who else!?). With a sigh, Thor leaned back in the chair. "What a beautiful day, right brother?" Loki rolled his eyes. "Why are you here?" Thor laughed at him from the side. "What? Can't I accompany my brother anymore, these days?" Loki gave him a look. "You never do that without a reason, so spit it out." Thor shifted back and forth in the chair to make himself more comfortable. "You know, to be honest... I feel a bit lonely. I miss Jane."

Jane Foster, Thor's girlfriend was in Europe for some work business, Loki didn't care much. But Thor always got so clingy, when Jane wasn't around. Loki put his face into his hands and sighed. "Oh gods! Spare me." "Hey!" Thor gently smacked him on his back. "Don't be that heartless fool, I know you aren't." Loki sighed again. They both fell into a short silence. Automatically, Loki's eyes wandered to the lake again. To you.

Thor followed his gaze. A grin appeared on his lips. "You like her. Y/N." He pointed out. Loki scoffed. "No I don't. She's a simple human." Thor laughed slightly. "But she's cute." Loki's head flew towards his brother. "I thought you were in love with Jane?", he hissed. It was more aggressive than he intended. What in the nine realms was wrong with him?

Thor chuckled. "I am. And I miss her." Thors smile faded. A strange feeling appeared inside Loki's chest. His brothers eyes wandered back to Loki. "You know, sometimes, I want you to feel the same I feel with Jane. It's wonderful." Loki made a grimace. "No thank you." "C'mon! I know you were in love before. You must miss that." Thor waved to the lake. "And she's right there."

"She's way too young. She would die within a few centuries! Compared with us, it is just a blink of an eye." "It that what's stopping you?" Thor whispered compassionate. "It didn't stop me, you know. Eighty years are short, but why not make it the best next eighty years you have?" Loki raised his head, brows furrowed. "That's so stupid!" Thor let out a laugh. "But if it makes me happy?" Loki shook his head in disbelief. But something inside him got hooked about this idea. Maybe Thor was right?

"You can't deny that you love her, Loki", his brother said softly. The younger brother closed his book with a sigh. He felt conflicted. He didn't love her. Right? No, that was too silly. "I don't love her.", he insisted.

Thor leaned his head against the upper part of the chair. "I know you do. I watched it long enough. You're watching her when she's around. You are distracted. You forget things. You smile when you think no one's watching, Loki!" Thor laughed and shook his head. "You never smile"

Loki bit his lip, staring at the book on his lap. "Why do you always push everything away that could make you happy, brother?", Thor said. Loki just pressed his lips together. The thunder god touched his shoulder. "Mother would've want you to be happy"

The pain was like a spear, spiking through his heart. He lift his gaze, so that his green eyes would meet Thor's. "Don't speak of her" "She would want you to be happy, even if it's just a human. She was happy for me and Jane! And she would be happy for you. With Y/N." Loki blinked the tears away, that formed in his eyes. "You don't know that."

Thor's grip around his shoulder got tighter. "Oh, I know. She loved us both equally. She would have want you to be happy Loki. And so do I." His brother smiled softly. "Talk to her." The god of mischief sighed. "What for? We aren't even friends. We barely talk." "That's not true, I saw you talking hours. Take your shot." Lokis eyes gazed back to you and the others. "She doesn't like me.", he said. "I've done too many bad things. And she would rather spend her time with Spider Boy, I guess." He nodded towards the lake, where you and Peter just came out of the water.

"Peter Parker has a girlfriend, Loki!", Thor laughed at him. "What?" "Yeah, some girl in his school. I don't know. So talk to her." Loki closed his eyes. This was too much of a risk. He just realised his feelings for her. What if she thought of him as a complete idiot? Or worse - the thread he was back in New York? But on the other hand, he kinda wanted to talk to her. Gods, he was never that shy!

Thor rubbed his eyes. "Y/N is quite close to Jane. Maybe she should give her a hint.", he babbled, tired of Loki's stubbornness. "Don't you dare!", his brother hissed and grabbed Thor's wrist. "If you do that I will kill you!"

Thor chuckled and freed his hand. "All right, all right." He sighed. "Her birthday is next week. She's having a party." "I know", Loki nodded. "I'm not invited." Thor's brows furrowed. His eyes scanned his brother. "Not? You sure?" "Yes I'm sure!" Loki rolled his eyes. Thor bit his lip for a second and thought. Loki could hear his brain rattling. Then, his brothers face lit up.

"I could ask her to bring you along. You could to magic fireworks or something." Scepsis appeared on Loki's face. But Thor was spurred on. "Yeah! You could do magic tricks and lights. Maybe that will impress her!" Loki furrowed. "You think?" He sat a bit straighter in his chair. Thor nodded enthusiastic. "I bet! She already likes you and that will enhance it. Loki, that's your chance!"

"Yes maybe- Wait wait wait.", the younger brother began. "She already likes me?" He nervously fiddled with he pages of his book. Thor grinned. "Yeah she does. I told you, I watched you guys."

A warm feeling flushed Loki's body and Thor told him what he noticed. Short glances in his direction, Y/N asking about him when he was not there. Her sudden interest in magic and the nine realms. "It's so obvious Loki. Please you have to talk to her." The god of mischief brooded for a bit. "The party could be a chance..."

"Yeah!", Thor nodded with a wide smile. Loki's thoughts were pacing around his head. She really liked him! If he could go to this party, then maybe... Maybe Thor was right. He looked at his brother. "And you will make sure, I can join this party?" Thor raised his pinky finger. "I promise!"

Loki hesitated for a second. Then he placed his own pinky finger around Thor's. Just like they did back then when they were children. His eyes met his brothers and a smile appeared on Loki's lips. "Thank you brother"

hihi!1!! i have a question about your ping sized pillars au! do they act differently towards eachother since they became children? dince because of their ages their behaviours could change so i’m just curious :D

hi anon!!! its 4 am sorry if i sound a little delirious at all when answering this question!

they absolutely do! i’ll make a very brief list just for the sake of simplicity but please feel free to ask for more clarification!! (i also plan to draw comics exploring this more so hopefully that will help showcase their dynamics too!)

Gyomei: After shrinking fourteen years and falling into the role of looking after the little ones until they can turn back, he’s much more gentle and kinder. he’s more expressive and talkative and is overall just a sweetheart toward the younger children and guides them however he can. at most he’ll pick on Sanemi and Tengen— but for the most part he takes all the responsibilities like a champ. older brother moment

He gets easily flustered and tends to mentally beat himself up a lot, often doubting his role and if he’s any good at it. He takes it hard whenever he accidentally makes someone cry :(

He’s very very close with Shinobu and Muichiro, but he loves everyone, and they all love him!

Tengen: he’s definitely more mischevious towards the others, but eeeextremely protective as well. he likes to carry everyone around + rough house and hates being the “bad guy” (aka enforcing rules), so naturally he becomes one of the favorite’s really quick

he’s kind of the equivalent of the older sibling who wants McDonalds and makes the younger sibling ask the parent for it. he bargains a lot with the other kids

He and Gyomei work really well as a team, with Gyomei being more nurturing and making rules (and consequences to breaking of said rules) and Tengen being more playful and funny. it really comes in handy when they have to distract the others from something distressing and Tengen entertains them while Gyomei works on fixing the problem!

Sanemi: Sanemi has the biggest change! he acts normal for the most part but is absolutely a big softie, as seen with how he will let Obanai hold his arm when nervous or how he’ll actively search for a flower to give Shinobu if she’s upset :(

He and Gyomei become closer during the whole ordeal, especially when Genya gets involved… Sanemi tries to get Gyomei to hide him from his (big?) little brother, but the eldest refuses and forces Sanemi to work stuff out with him…

Giyuu: his change is less noticeable… again, he’s mostly the same, but as things progress and he’s around Tanjiro, Shinobu, etc more, he loosens up. He actively looks out for the others in his own way, and never participates in rough-housing in favor of sitting with Shinobu or Muichiro. Honestly, he’s usually just hanging out with Tanjiro (against his will) and it’s difficult for me to word their dynamic without going into a lot of detail!

Obanai: he has a pretty big change as well. Obanai is shy as a kid, so naturally, he tends to keep to himself and only stick with the people he likes. He gets flustered around Mitsuri even more now, and the others tease him in the same way Elementary Schooler’s are like “obanai and mitsuri sitting in a tree!!!!!”

It’s also worth noting that he’s usually glued to Sanemi, Rengoku, or Gyomei/Tengen depending on who is around. He hates the situation they’re in and isn’t afraid to show it, but as soon as Shinobu and Muichiro are there, he acts like it doesn’t affect him at all. He’s closer with Muichiro as he actively tries to make sure he’s doing okay, and likes to help Gyomei watch him!

Rengoku: speaking of Rengoku…. yeah! He’s always been very loving and considerate, so it’s only amplified here. He likes to think he’s part of the “big kids” squad too… he’s more brotherly with Mitsuri and likes to drag Obanai out of his comfort zone, just like when they were younger. He’s much closer with Tengen! He has trouble playing with Muichiro because he’s so little, so usually when he’s with him he’s trying to feed him or entertain him (this rarely goes well)

Mitsuri: like Rengoku, she’s always been a sweetheart, so not too much changes. She’s much more affectionate and loving, though, and always wants to hug someone or play with them!

She becomes a lot more close with Shinobu, and likes to hang out with Tengen and Rengoku and join in on their shenanigans. She is clueless to Obanai’s feelings, and never notices how flustered he gets when she braids his hair or carries him around! She also plays a lot of games like “House” and what not, so dynamics shift whenever Mitsuri takes it veeeery seriously

Mitsuri lights up a room, and it’s noticeable if Mitsuri is down or not around. They’re all pretty close to her during this!

Shinobu: Shinobu has always been the mediator of the Hashira, and that reigns true even as a five year old. People think she can be a bit bratty or bossy, but that’s faaaar from the truth. Shinobu is even more persistent about Giyuu making friends and tries to include him however she can. Also, because she knew Gyomei at a young age, she tends to confide in him more often than not. She likes acting as a bigger sister toward Muichiro and having a lot of “girl talks” with Mitsuri; they have their equivalent of a sleepover pretty much every night.

Fun Fact: she gets pretty sad about not having Kanae around during this (since they grew up together and all), and Mitsuri kinda helps fill that role without either of them realizing it!

Muichiro: Being the baby of the group, quite literally, everyone absolutely adores him, but they don’t always know how to interact with him. At the start, his relationship with everyone is pretty sour, since he admittedly takes the whole de-aging thing the hardest. But with Gyomei’s patience and guidance, he warms up a bit and slowly starts to enjoy himself more, leading to his friendships with the others changing as well.

Everyone’s even more protective of him (especially after Muichiro protected them when they were all getting transformed— they feel kinda bad about it) and coddles him 24/7. They definitely spoil him, and Muichiro warms up to their affection and eventually begins actively seeking it. Tengen sometimes gets jealous about all the attention Muichiro gets, and it creates a fun dynamic between the two of Muichiro purposely trying to piss him off haha.

It’s hard to pinpoint how much his relationships change with everyone without writing an essay about it, but you get the gist!

Triple Threat (DC x DP)

So, this is based slightly on this prompt I wrote! Here is the link to my DC x DP masterpost, and one of my last notfics I posted here was Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss, Godhood where Danny and Vlad try to manipulate and mansplain their way out of trouble with the JLA. So, Danny and Billy are brothers. Maybe they're twins separated at birth, but I prefer that they bonded at some other point, maybe they adopted each other after meeting on the street. Danny's parents said they didn't care he was a halfa, but their behaviour changed so much because they were utterly incapable of hiding their fear of him. He ran away. Billy was at this time, already living on the streets.

They 'come out' to each other on the same day revealing their powers out of brotherly love and unconditional trust - not as an accident. And you know what? Trans Rights! They can come out that way too. At this point, Billy is working with the justice league and Danny is spending a lot of his time in the Zone. He is the king, but mostly his job is to be a key judicial figure as the 'only dude who can pretty much beat anyone up' and has a lot of friends there. Hey, the sovereign ruler of the ghost zone was locked up for thousands of years and nothing really seemed to happen so I can't imagine he'd have a lot to do day-to-day. Actually, instead of sleeping on the streets they both spend most nights in the Zone in Danny's Haunt (though I'd imagine Billy also sleeps frequently at the watchtower because the pair of them are quasi-immortal homeless children who also somehow have fulltime jobs that pay nothing. And the watchtower has a kitchen). When I think of Danny's personality displayed as a physical location, I think it looks like a little suburban street lined with weird ghostly trees growing sentient flowers. There's a nasty burger though it's empty of employees and food; they still use it as a dining room. His actual house (ghosts don't need one but I still think Danny would have one) is moderate in size and charming. But it has defences built in, to the same absurd level as home alone or that live action scooby doo film https://youtu.be/2x7W225iC88?t=62 where there's a trapdoor under the doormat. There's a park across the road (which is always empty of cars but has a pedestrian crossing anyways) with purple grass and some plants that are only vaguely carnivorous. Every now and then, Billy helps out Danny with some magic tomfoolery in the Zone (you cannot tell me Aragon's amulets or Desiree aren't magic over and above normal ghost shenanigans). In one of Billy's first ever team missions he calls Danny as backup. He barely knows these people and he knows he won't be able to do his best hero-ing when he can't fully trust them to watch his back. Phantom doesn't end up having to do much because the JLA members are nice and trustworthy, but he is physically and visibly there. At the conclusion of the mission, following a nice orderly debriefing, Wulf comes to pick up Danny to get Walker back in line. This is a point where there are only a few JLA members, but Batman carefully adds "Brother/Twin??: King of Ghosts - The Phantom" to Shazam's file and begins investigating ecto-activity. A few years pass. Enough that Billy’s and Danny’s lives get a lot busier. Billy is doing some non-traditional school shit (I refuse to google the laws around out-of-school younger-age education in a foreign country for a city that doesn’t exist) and Danny is now working in a space agency. He obviously can’t be an astronaut because of the required physical -which he would not be able to pass - and he is busy with king stuff often enough that going into space for half a year isn’t really do-able. I think his Jack Fenton genes might kick in and he bulks out just a tad. It took him a year to be able to look at his ghost self in the mirror because he looked like Dan’s scarier big brother.

The justice league stop some evil invasion but in the process disable a giant spaceship that is now floating, untethered through their solar system. The aliens had been prepared for superman so there is artificial kryptonite meaning he cannot just punt it into the sun. This is in response to an ancient ask from around 2018 so feel free to ignore it. I found that post about fandom discourse on your account and found out the sh/eith asks on your blog. So here's some clarification about it.

The majority of the bullying and harassment in the fandom was done by kl shippers, specifically the antis and the normal kl fans got caught in the crossfire. I dont know what hunty did but a major reason why they were on the kl hit list was because they were actively compiling all the harassment and vile behaviour of the fandom (regardless of the ship of choice). This doesn't absolve any harm done by sk shippers definitely but there is a big gap between the severity of bad behaviour on both sides.

The kl fans told a gay man (David Gaider) that he was a pedophile for liking sk and tried to get him fired. Harassed a non binary lesbian who worked on the show and painting her as predator and threatening to hurt her till she stopped wanting to appear at panels, threatening a voice actor's children to the point that he had to start reporting people, and the continued and absolutely vile treatment of Lauren Montgomery for 2 whole years at every perceived slight to their golden by.

The reason kl fans were called delusional by some was because they made several really bad reaches like writing entire manifestos about why kl would be canon and calling it a bible and a testament despite the show runners repeatedly saying it was never on the table and it boiling down to head canons. Insisting that every a/llurance interaction was secretly about kl and insisting every sk interaction was platonic but then redrawing those exact same scenes as kl. Insisting that Kihyun's Keith groping Shiro's tiddy art is brotherly. Telling gay men that that using words like brother or family for your crush when you don't fully understand your feelings means they have psychosexual problems and have an incest fetish then turning around and insisting that C/atradora, another ship popular with kls was actually just the lesbian experience since they were actually raised as sisters. Outside of that there was sending sk shippers gore and cp and telling one they should have died from their cancer.

As for the ages and the sk age discourse, the backstory was revealed in season 7, in season 1 the characters were introduced as 5 teenagers in space meeting aliens, which included Shiro. Now considering Shiro has always looked like an older guy even when he was a teen in the original series people went with it, even those who didnt usually read him as an older teen. Later Keith came back about 2 years older while Lance was still 17 so they started insisting that Keith was mentally stunted and therefore still a "baby adult" at about 20. This was because back when people said Shiro could be 18-19-20 that Keith being 17 is still weird. But kl fans started insisting that all ptsd sufferers were inherently abusive in relationships and that he had "scrambled eggs for brains". They also insisted that he could only be shipped with Allura who was an adult according to them. in season 2 a non canon book was released that said Keith was 18 at the start of the series and Shiro was 25. Unless people were obsessively looking at this stuff you wouldn't know that. Later Allura's va made a reference to Allura dealing with trauma like an average teen which instantly had kls throwing shiro/allura fans under the bus. Also note that they were very against lotor/lance and harassed the shippers within a week of the ship becoming a thing. Basically every ship outside of kl involving these two became problematic in one way or another, sk and a/llurance taking the worst hits. By the end of season 6 kls had their chats leaked discussing their fears of sk becoming canon and needing to cope by rereading the kl manifestos and doubling down on harassing the sk and a/llurance shippers. By this point Lauren Montomery had already liked fanart of shiro and keith making out (s2), Barlee had liked art of them snuggled up (s3), the famous "Shiro loves you baby, he's looking at keith" art had already been posted by Chirs palmer (s1), Josh Keaten had already coined the ship name (s1), Kihyun Ryu was drawing Keith groping Shiro (s6) and Bex had already made several jokes about Shiro and Keith being a couple (s1-7). At this point kl fans started harassing the staff directly and calling them predatory, after their infamous attempt at blackmailing them to make kl canon didn't work. They would change their approved non ship questions during panels to put the staff on the spot, they recorded Jeremy Shada without his consent for a scrap of kl evidence, they posted videos of children forcing them to watch vld, they posted uncensored pics of two classmates (minors) for wearing blue and red, as well as of their very very small students because they were kl coded, they spammed Jeremy Shada's posts with his gf insisting its uncomfortable cuz they look like siblings and how he should date Keith's va instead (a married man btw), they then proceeded to harass Shada when he lost his cool and ranted about the behavior of kl fans in a panel calling him awful things. They told csa survivors that they should be ashamed of liking a ship.

In a later panel for season 6 Josh Hamilton flat out said that sk were in no way related and JDS said that people would come out of the show either thinking they were together or thinking they are just bros hinting at some degree of ambiguity. It was only in season 7 after much of the thing was over that we saw their backstory, the pics that are used to harass shippers. By this point most sk shippers had a completely different backstory for them and those who shipped them from before didn't ship them in this variation of canon. He was also dating someone else during this period anyway.

As for why people ever started shipping sk in the first place, its because Bex made two snapchat posts about the very first episode refering to Shiro being Keith's true love and Shiro bringing the kids (the other three paladins) to his and Keith's date night. Mind you, both Josh Keaten and Bex were actively harassed for saying that sheith was a perfectly normal and healthy ship.

TLDR: The vld show had no show bible and the ages were never elaborated on, people didn't know shit about how sk met and a lot of the narrative is made up head canons being pushed as facts. Majority of the claims against sk shippers is revisionism that was done by antis and these things can be proven with all the records and screenshots maintained by hunty and several other blogs. That being said there were assholes in all ships, even the ones that insist they were unproblematic and innocent.

It would have been harsh to say that the Reider parents were the absent kind, but there was something of a disconnect between them, and Ricardo and his sister Olivia. One parent would go to work, then head straight to the bars afterwards to unwind, the other would go to work, only to come home and work some more. With that, Ric and Liv built a stronger bond that one would expect, relying on each other in every possible way, bringing each other up when their parents remained too busy to.

Ric loved every second of being the big brother, there was no point denying it: equal parts teacher, shoulder to cry on, fearless protector and instigator of ridiculous ten-minute squabbles. He wouldn't change a minute of it, seeing how other friends of his found their siblings to be nothing more than an nuisance, continuous arguing as opposed to the Reider's few and far between. Even as they grew older and their lives became more their own, new friendships and relationships forming, jobs, social lives, new priorities but their bond remained the same.

They never found out who attacked Liv that night, a night when Ric had decided to go home early and left his sister at the party, but it ate him up every day since, the one time he hadn't been there for her. Surprisingly, at first, she seemed okay, only mildly shaken up with her phone and her money taken, but it was in the weeks following that Ric and their parents started to notice the problem.

Liv seemed to close herself off from Ric, going out by herself more and more, mixing with random people she would meet at the club or party, not coming home for days on end. When confronted about it, she simply shut those criticisms down by saying it was 'her way of coping with a traumatic event', which their parents decided not to question. Ric questioned it alright, and then some, maybe going over the top in his brotherly duties: keeping tabs on her either himself or through other people, making requests to the bars to stop serving her when she got too drunk, anything he could to stop this self-destructive behaviour and get his sister back.

They didn't find out about the drugs until it was too late. Liv had vanished onto another of her four-days worth of a weekend, drinking and partying, and Ric was at a loss as to where to find her by day four. Luckily, one of the friends he'd asked to keep tabs had done the job properly, encouraging Ric to get to their location urgently. He did, arriving to find Liv blacked out, now the only sober one in a room full of ravers who didn't see anything wrong with this picture. The rest of the night remained a blur for Ric, unsure quite how he'd managed to drive her to the hospital, when he'd called his parents and when they had actually arrived, down to how long he'd actually been sat in the waiting room for news.

Rehab was decided by their parents as the best option, perhaps a way for them to push responsibility to someone else. Ric would have helped her out by himself if he could, but he was overruled, giving her a simple kiss on the forehead and the promise that he would see her when she got out. There was nothing more he could do for her now, so, rather than sit at home and dwell on what he should have and could have done, he decided to make moves ready for her return.

The woodland areas of West Virginia is where he travelled, leaving the car and taking his rucksack of camping gear deeper into the trees. He'd find them a nice spot to hike and to rest and to camp, somewhere away from people, away from temptations and distractions, use nature to clear their mind and then things would be back to normal for them.

And then he crossed the line.

Ric wandered innocently into Huntsville, asking about potential camping spots nearby before being hit with the grave reality that he was now here, in town, permanently. It was a struggle to begin with, but now, a few weeks in, Ric has come to terms with his predicament, but still holds out some hope that he'll get back to his sister before she gets home.

I can't quite remember where, it was either here or on ao3 that you mentioned that Chris is a bit of the jealous/possessive type. At least because of his condition maybe, and it got me thinking about that.

It feels like it would definitely have a sinister vibe to it, I can certainly see it building in GP. Watching Ryan, potentially following him around, the ambigious touches, the weird conversations, and the revealing dreams. It's just below the surface, but noticbly inches out closer to the full moon or after interactions with Dylan. It's just so interesting because nobody would think that Chris has any bad intentions. He's just an old dude who's hard set on his rules and is openly fond of Ryan in anyone else's eyes.

Seeing glimpses of what could be him losing his composure is tantalising and creepy at times. As the reader, we have a different perspective than Ryan. He just really wants Mister H, and it's amusing how frustrated he's become. But then that begs the question, what is going to happen when he gets him? All bets would be off, I guess.

I've been trying to imagine what they might be like once it's all up in the air. That Ryan knows Chris wants him and how Chris might alter his behaviour. What's the use of hiding his intent when that person is aware? It's difficult to think of how different things might be after that. And I'm quite curious just how open or obvious Chris might be about his possessive, overly protective feelings towards Ryan might be. I'm also curious about who else Ryan might be meeting, but I have a feeling it could be some of the other hacketts? Maybe Travis, god, imagine if Ryan somehow got to meet Constance or Jed. It'd maybe go okay if he did as he was told and kept being polite, but he wouldn't like them. Didn't he say he doesn't like Jed at the start of GP? If he met Bobby, under normal circumstances, I feel like there'd be room for a comedic moment. Both of them just awkwardly stand there in the woods or something.

Bobby not knowing what to do because there's nobody to tell him what to do, plus Ryan isn't a threat. Then our poor guy is panicking, thinking, "Who is he, is he a hunter, I thought they weren't allowed on the property? Why does he kinda look a bit like Chris?" Imagine Chris behind the camera freaking out and cursing up a storm. He rushes down there to defuse and talk their way out of the situation. Only to reach them and see of all the bizarre things that Ryan and Bobby are having a simple, weird, but positive conversation. Maybe Ryan said something blunt and awkward like "nice, knife?" and Bobby just started explaining to him how he got it and what it's good for. It could be the most crackiest, chaotic convo, but Ryan is just nodding, listening, and making a few comments. Meanwhile, Chris is just confused behind a tree or something, feeling conflicted bcs it'd bad that Ryan bumped into Bobby. But idk maybe if he and Bobby have a decent brotherly relationship, he'd feel kinda grateful or happy that Ryan is making an effort to talk to Bobby. Yk like how he liked that Ryan makes an effort with Kaylee and Caleb? It'd be the most chaotic and weirdly funny thing if Ryan managed to accidentally get Bobby to like him. Especially considering what happens in canon. But that's just a funny weird little imagine ramble, haha. I doubt it'd actually go like that, it was just funny to think about. Pfft, imagine Chris telling Bobby that if he promises to keep the interaction a secret, he can come see them later. All the hacketts except the parents having lunch with Ryan. It would be chaotic af, lmao.

Sorry for that long-winded ramble, I only meant to ask and wonder about Chris's hidden possessive mannerisms. I ended up coming up with an odd Bobby and Ryan bonding moment instead of all things, haha.

heya! it was a while, since we talked the last time. and considering how, i’m yet to re-read my works to recall, where i’ve dropped it all, my memory on that bit is also rusty. but chris sure is possessive! though, i’d say that the wolf part of his nature is only half of the problem. the other part is that chris himself have those feelings / emotions no matter what, but if he wasn’t a werewolf, he would have been better at hiding / controlling it. 

and honestly, jealousy is generally not a good thing / emotion, even if i’m an absolute sucker and advocate for it in fiction. jealousy is hot to me, as well as possessiveness. irl, it would be a different matter, but considering how good portion (if not all tbh) of my ships usually have at least one ‘yandere’ or emotionally unstable individual, it makes perfect sense for them to lean very heavily into that aspect. express their dedication to a person in somewhat extreme ways. tho when i’m looking specifically at my supermassive ship, funny enough there is not much space for such stuff, haha. at least, not in how i write it. i mean, if we take idk john/andrew, there isn’t any possible rival there, bc andrew and john are kinda joined by the hip and get along to the point, where every other interaction in comparison just doesn’t live up to what they have. well, from my point of view, anyways. but in chris and ryan's situation, it’s different, since ryan despite being a quiet, weird kid has people, who have crushes on him and then there are folks, who are friendly to him. and generally, chris’s view on ryan isn’t similar to john’s on andrew. from chris’s perspective ryan would eventually date and prob marry people, which naturally doesn’t sit well with him. he’s not proud of it, of how he seem to put an invincible claim on ryan, but it is a thing lol. and in GP, he’s way more weak-willed vs in ASB. he cannot help himself, and the further it goes, the worse it gets. and yeah, that’s the scary, might i say even realistic part about chris. he’s fatherly, friendly, old-educational kind of man. you look at him, and think, hey he’s rough around the edges, kinda awkward, but he’s nice and tries his best. and yeah, he does tries his best. he's fatherly and overall (usually) means well, but he’s not nice lol. and while at first, he did tried to be a parental figure for ryan, he honestly wanted just that, eventually it twisted and changed as ryan got older….less boyish and more ‘easy on the eyes’. and then, most importantly, he’s also chris’s first ‘friend’, the only attachment beyond his family nest. so in a way, you can see how he will get weird about it tbh. esp bc he and ryan get along so well. he would be afraid to lose it. to see ryan moving on. and while he knows that it would be for the best, it's also one of those instances, where he wants to be selfish about it.

as for how they will act once they’re properly ‘together’, well, it would heavily lean onto the lil plot that slowly happens in the fic. besides they cannot be a ‘normal’ couple in public for example. not only are they're a boss and employee, but ryan is way younger than chris. and it’s if we won’t take into account both of their families, and how ryan and chris themselves were raised. and how while it’s part of why they understand one another, they also will be 'weird' in any relationship. even if in their case, it’ll be somewhat comfy, bc they’re both like this. but what i can say is that ironically chris prob be less aggressive toward dylan, once he and ryan are together lol. one might have pictured it the other way around, but nope. but like, why would chris be jealous of that poor lad, when ryan picked him? it's like set in stone from that point on, esp when chris will see the 'proof' of it. ryan means business. but that applies only to dylan, haha. bc chris always feels somewhat bad for picking on him so much. since really, it’s not his fault for liking ryan, from chris's bias perspective, who wouldn’t? but there is also another aspect of how much one can let the other person know, the level of ‘creepy’ they are about them. if a person is smart and have at least some understanding about what is ‘okay’ and ‘what’s not’, and if they know that they're actively doing the later, they would try to either play it down or keep it a secret. out of all my supermassive ships, only du’met can be openly creepy, bc he’s a serial killer and he’s well-aware that he's what one might call bat-shit-crazy. and then, charlie is a low-key narcissist, so y'know...it works, haha. in comparison, everyone else will be partly scared to alienate the other person, to push them away, bc of how obsessive they are about them. and in chris’s case, it’s also complicated by a simple fact, that he’s a werewolf. him and ryan being together not only somewhat ‘problematic’ for 'normal' reasons, but also bc chris essentially a serial killer. it would be so-so much harder for him to be ‘decent’ about stuff, or seem this way, if one will be like ‘jesus, he’s a real deviant. he prob liked killing and eating those people too. and prob have some murder fantasy about that ryan kid too’. even knowing everything, ryan won’t think this, naturally. but chris will still hold that fear, bc he cannot know for sure what ryan might assume. to him, it’s a very tricky territory. but then again, if only he knew the extent of ryan’s own obsession, he might have been a bit calmer about that part, haha. i also must say, that ryan is prob the one, who isn’t fully aware about his own ‘claimship’ on chris. 

i mean, he doesn't want to imagine mister h having a type and all. also if someone thinks, that chris is hella unreasonable with dylan (which he kinda is), you just wait what would have happened, if ryan suspected that chris might have new 'favorite' camp counselor. i even had that hilirious one-shot idea, where both ryan and chris are both jealous of dylan. like chris would try to keep dylan closer to himself, so that he'd spent less time with ryan, but from ryan's pespective it would look like he might be getting replaced. like y'know a classic rom-con stuff, haha. i honestly tend to feel somewhat bad for people like dylan, who is bystander and just kinda gets caught in the middle of it all, while being absolutely clueless. and it gets even more messy, if everybody learning what hackett fam was doing all this time. learning what chris was doing, and ryan is over there still openly simping for mister h, regardless of it, haha. like, it's pretty much canon, and it's amazing. i'll be honest, it's not super important to me what other characters think about my ships within the story. but i love how often, it would create some very awkward situations or an actual 'bruh, wtf' moments. ryan can overlook kidnapping, cut off limbs, deaths and all, if only it would mean, that chris did nothing wrong. amazing. great! one of my biggests personal let downs is that no one in LH, calls out john for almost instantly forgiving andrew abandoning / accidently killing people. john and ryan share that 'selective blindness' to a t.

and oh, since it takes me so long to continue the story, i’ll drop a lil spoiler for you. yeah, jed and bobby are one of few people, who ryan will cross paths with. but it won’t be cute, haha. and he will meet travis too. he prob will met every hackett, beside constance. i wanted him to hang out with caleb as well, since the last story had more spotlight on kyalee. feels fair to give the other hackett sibling some time with ryan too! and yeah, ryan did think that jed sounds like an asshole lol. bc well, he is. ryan despite his emotional stupor, still can see the difference between how his own grandparents raised him and what chris’s parents did. there is a thin line between ‘tough love’ and negligence / low-key sadism, but ryan can feel it. for him chris's family sounds closer to his mother vs his grandparent. so no good 'role model'. ryan also keen enough to notice, that chris has that weird almost automatic response to any critic toward his parents methods. if someone was raised in a norm fam, sure they would defend them, but not to the point of almost knee-jerk reaction.

and this kinda why i often feel, that people mistake chris’s obedience / need to inform his parents about things for him being ‘the spoiled child’ out of the 3. when in fact, he prob ‘has to do those things’, bc he thinks that he has to do them. same with travis. If you look at constance’s favourite phrase of ‘encouragement’ aka ‘good boy’, it legit sounds like smth that you would say to a dog tbh. not to mention, that all 3 of hacketts brothers still live in that very same place, next to their parents, even if they’re all beyond 40. And you can see why well, bobby be there. but while travis was no doubt gaslighted / manipulated into staying, bc what if they needed smth. chris on other hand most likely was ‘conditioned’ to keep the family business running. he might still like his job and love nature, but it didn’t mean, that he couldn’t try to open a camp someplace else. but he never did. like, there is a lot of ‘what the hell’ moments from ryan’s pov when it comes to things that he notices about chris and his stories and interactions with his family. if you love someone, and see them being mistreated or cut off from bigger opportunities or just generally mislead for someone else’s needs, you would feel offended on their behalf, won't you? besides, it’s not like chris is a big fan of ryan’s mom either. but at the same time, he’d be more mild and understanding about ryan’s grandparents, bc they low-key remind him of his own parents, and like travis, he tends to come up with excuses for them. anyways, sorry tangled! as for bobby and ryan’s dynamic, i actually feel like out of 3 brothers, bobby is naturally sadistic, even if in a child-like way. but i do think and hc, that he has this 'odd' kind of interest for ryan. not romantic or anything, but more of lines when a small, cruel kid sees a wounded mouse and decides to see what he can do with it, simply bc it cannot run away and prob will die, anyway. so their interaction won’t be adorable, but i love your take on it, haha. in a lighter themes fic, this surely has a place! in GP, tho it’s more of horror and ‘bad’ progression. 

with this being said, i don’t hate any of the hacketts, not even constance. it takes a lot for me to downright hate characters. i also cannot hate characters, who are effective in the story, which chris’s family is. we as a player walk in their home, we see them interacting with one another, and we can see why chris and travis are the way they are. the message about the family sticking for each other isn't bad on paper, it's really aren't. but it depends on what sort of family it is. what kind of dynamic it has. and what we see paints a picture of a very unhealthy co-dependance between all of the hacketts. but it runs so deep, that neither travis nor chris seem to think that anything was wrong. or rather, that there was messed up stuff, and smth didn't felt right / nice, but it's all okay, bc this is just how family are, right? as even in the end, travis was like ‘we never wanted to hurt anyone’, when constance and jed, clearly gave zero shits about murdering and burying people as long as it kept their family safe. and it’s not the intent and motive itself that is chilling or twisted, it’s the way, both jed and constance talk and behave about it. like it’s nothing. and it’s kinda different to travis’s stoic and shell-shocked behaviour, to how he nearly numb to it, bc it’s too much. or to chris’s nervous, skittish guilt, that doesn’t stop him from doing those things, but clearly makes him feel disgusted with himself. jed and constance have none of those things lol.

either way, out of all the main characters, only laura had a chance to get ‘close’ to the hacketts and kinda explore their broken family in a more personal way. and i kinda really wanted ryan to do the same. esp bc is this also raises a question of how ‘better’ hackett brothers would have been, if their parents just idk, died. and i feel like, that in a scenario, where chris’s kids are still alive, things could have been somewhat ‘chill’. at least as far as it possible. but with them gone, well….yeah. i always felt like kaylee and caleb were kinda the glue, that held both travis and chris mental states somewhat together. but in better universe, without hackett patriarch and matriarch, yeah, thing might have gone somewhat well. i do believe, that kyalee and caleb could have made chris and travis be less bitter about things and each other. and ryan being latest addition to the family would get accepted just fine. like, travis cannot even be a bitch about chris having a romantic relationships with ryan, bc he himself prefers younger women lol.

so in the context of that au what is theons relationship with ned and cat

ok it is complex.... theyre his legal foster parents and they consider him a son but but its distinctly different from the way they consider their biokids their children. and theon was like 12-ish when he got taken in so he already had a solid foundation of personhood, he has a 'real' family (who he has a horrible insane relationship with but theyre still his family!) and his 'im a burden' family that he knows took him in more because theyre kind and good people than because they love him specifically. he grew up feeling like a stray dog that they took in! yes they love him but in a pitiful almost dehumanising way, as if he is a concept rather than a human if that makes sense. because obviously when youre normal people and you wind up with a weirdo abused mafia brat with very obvious gender and sexuality problems tee-em youre gonna treat them with kid gloves like theyre glass like theyre a wounded animal!! idk if this is making sense.

PLUS this is throbb so theon+robb had a very weird brotherly/friendly/boyfriendly relationship which affected nedcat's idea of theon and theon's idea of family. theon more considered nedcat as "my friend robb's parents who i freeload with" as opposed to "my own legal parents who i live with as their son". i think ned and cat considered theon a brother to robb(+ the kids in general) more than a son of them if that makes sense, he's family in a very complicated way. and then here are these boys who THEY see as brothers who are clearly engaging in behaviour that is not brotherly (getting high and jerking each other off) which makes them go all pursed lipped which makes theon think they hate him and think that he's an outsider corrupting their perfect golden boy son

anyway specifically their relationship as adults... when theon turned 18 he was like Ok i will stop being your fucking burden you have to clothe and wash and theyre like cmon theon dont think that we love you. here let us show you that by clothing you and washing you but not hugging you and also pretty obviously disapproving of your relationship with robb. after theon reemerges from his horrible terrible ramsay year from hell they don't really know how to talk to each other. after ramsay, robb and theon sort of became essentially a couple (this post is already long enough i CANNOT go into my insane idea of their relationship basically its complicated) and now ned and cat have to reckon with the fact that throbb isnt just teenage sexual experimentation and it's like a real thing they cant just ignore. also they pay for his therapy but never have conversations with him about his problems(not that theon is like TRYING to or anything lol. he is actively working against it but yknow. complicated).

My favourite Kroppcest headcannon is that they learned to be incestous from all the bands that they grew up with. Maybe they didn't even know brothers weren't supposed to be that close until they were adults. They just naturally fell into the same codependent roles that most brothers in bands tend to fit. Sleeping in the same beds, cuddling, and even kissing never seemed to be wrong to them. Their idols were licking their younger brother's nipples onstage, after all. A russian journalist Hera Ugrumova published in X (former Twitter) the text of a petition to MEPs from citizens of russia and Belarus. Belaruthians were indignant at this.

The authors of the petition write about the mass refusal of EU banks "to have legally guaranteed basic bank accounts for residents with russian and Belaruthian citizenship." They testify that in some countries you need to have a bank account to continue the DNI, but when the DNI expires, the banks close the accounts, including the basic ones, making it impossible to continue the DNI. It is said that bank employees often cite non-existent sanctions against citizens of russia and Belarus and also refuse to accept documents indicating that they are waiting for a residence permit as proof of residency. Activists are asking the European Parliament to adopt a resolution or directive aimed at preventing this practice. According to the authors of the petition, such actions of banks "feed the negative narrative of putin's propaganda about the "Russophobia" of the West."
