The Crimson Mare & Boulangerie Colmar - a cc lot by moonwoodhollow

It's finally time for another lot! I feel like I've been teasing this one for far too long, but it's here now and that's all that matters!

The Crimson Mare & Boulangerie Colmar is a bar and boulangerie/café that works gameplay-wise as both a bar and a café and is best placed in Britechester. I've wanted a really nice pub feeling for The Crimson Mare and I hope I succeeded in making it ~classy~, yet also cool enough for university students to visit and have a drink with friends. Boulangerie Colmar is partially inspired by some boulangeries I've visited over the years in France and Southern Germany, it has a lot of charm and is the perfect place to meet for a coffee date or with friends to study gossip.

So what do you get?

The Crimson Mare is a 20x20 lot best placed in Britechester on the Pepper's Pub lot. The building is mostly furnished, meaning only the ground and 1st floors are fully furnished, while the others are empty. It's also been playtested.

The left/corner building is The Crimson Mare - a long-established pub loved by students of Britechester University and residents of the town alike and the building on the right is the Boulangerie Colmar, a café in which your sims feel as if they're in a cute street café in France.

If you want you could add a flat above the café for a sim who'd have it as their own business, or maybe just for storytelling purposes! (just an idea btw)

Jason Todd x reader

Synopsis: You meet Tim and Steph, Jason is not happy about it.

Notes: Some drama is finally here brought to you by Tim and Steph. This is the power of embarrassing a sibling.

The past week had been… odd. And that was putting it nicely. True to his word, the next evening was filled with Red Hood replacing your window locks with newer fancy ones attached to an “Out of date” alarm system (his words not yours). He showed you how to set it up and how to attach it to your phone, so if anyone got in while you were away you would know. It seemed a bit excessive to you, living on the sixth floor and all but he was adamant about it, so you let him. He told you if you wanted him to come in and share tea you would have to leave the window unlocked for a frame of time. If he didn’t show in that frame of time, you were to lock the window anyway.

“No later, understand?” He had ordered gruffly, and you had just shrugged. You’re pretty sure he rolled his eyes in response, but you couldn’t see them. In the days following he showed up every day even if it were just for a couple minutes. Sometimes you shared food, sometimes just tea. If he stayed for longer than a few minutes, you would sit amicably at the dining table or at the island. Sometimes in comfortable silence and sometimes conversing about your days, mostly you than him. You finally settled into a routine. After his visit, you would get ready for bed and repeat the day over.

Work at Jackie’s was booming. With the fall season in full swing, people came in requesting pumpkin this and pumpkin that, only to be disappointed to find out Jackies only had one pumpkin item and that was pumpkin bread. It was a blast. You kept up with the regulars and Darla would edge her way around you, collecting gossip. Over the next week and a half, she would sporadically bother you about if you had gotten Jason’s number or if you had fallen in with some other guy. She said she saw some of the signs of a guy but wasn’t too sure. When you asked what she meant she didn’t offer you any explanation.

It was a Thursday when you met Steph. When she came in, you mentally prepared yourself for another no-pumpkin showdown. You try not to judge a book by its cover, but her blonde hair and purple athleisure made it hard not to.

“Hi, Welcome to Jackie’s. What can I get for you?” your lips twitch into a customer service smile. She grins at you like this was the most excitement she had had all day.

“Hi, I’m Steph. How are you?” she asks politely.

“I’m good. What can I get for you?” she sags slightly at your shutdown of the conversation. Overly friendly new customers in Gotham were never good. They usually wanted something.

“Right,” she perks back up, “One hot chocolate and one black coffee.” She pauses for a moment while you put in the system. When you look back up, she asks “Do you know Jason?”

The sudden question slightly takes you aback and don’t answer, so she continues.

“He's about this tall,” she holds her hand in the air, “black hair, looks like he could punch a brick wall.” You nod slowly and she smiles, “Great, where does he usually sit?”

You point to the table nook he usually hides in, and she nods, “We’ll sit there. I heard that you bring the drinks out?” You nod again, still confused about this girl. No Pumpkin spice latte, and she knows Jason? Strange.

“How much do I owe you?” you finally snap out of your stupor. She pays, you thank her and tell her it will be out momentarily. She turns and greets a lean boy as he walks through the door. She tugs him to the booth quickly and they talk to each other in hushed tones, both glancing up at you occasionally. You try to ignore them as you stumble through making the two easiest items on the menu.

You glance up when the bell dings and a smile flits across your lips when you see Jason before it turns into a frown as he frowns. His eyes staring at his now occupied table. You pause in your task and come up to the register as he takes a few slow steps towards it.

“You okay?” you ask as you glance at the two at the table. They’re looking at Jason like they’ve won the lottery.

“Did they talk to you?” He ignores your own question.

“She did. Only to order though. Do I need to call the cops?”

Jason snorts at the question, “Yeah that’ll go well. She just ordered? She didn’t ask you anything?”

You give him a strange look. What is with people and odd questions today?

“She just asked where you sit. Sorry, I gave you away.”

He breaks his glare from them and meets your eye with a softness.

“It’s okay, Sweetheart. They would’ve figured it out even if you hadn’t given it to them.” Your heart flutters at the pet name. He had called you that the few times you had seen him since your walk home and it was starting to get to you.

“You want me to dump out their drinks and just make yours?” you ask as you try to force your focus away from the warmth on your cheeks.

“And ruin your hard work?” his eyes stare into your own and he finally breaks it when you hear giggles from your spies. You drop your chin down. “It’s okay,” he repeats, “I’ll sit with them.” He nods at you and heads for the table. The two sat there leaning together and whispering. You wonder who they are and how Jason knows them.

You get to work make the drinks, no longer stumbling, and with bounce your step. Darla stands next to you with a smug smile and makes some refills for customers.

“You could have asked for his number when he was alone but now there are people. Your poor self won't ever be able to do it.” She says teasingly.

“Thank you, Darla,” you say with an eye roll as you load the drinks on the tray. You take your time to meander to the table as Jason looks like he's berating the two that sit across from him. It doesn’t look like it's working as they both sit there with smug grins. You set the tray on the table and all eyes are on you. You keep your own eyes down as you move the drinks from the tray to the table. Your eyes try to catch Jason’s book for the day because you know you won't be asking like you normally do. You pull the tray from the table and rest it between your side and your arm.

“Anything else I can get you?” you glance at the two but meet Jason's eye. He looks flushed, possibly upset. Steph speaks up.

“No that’s okay. What was your name again?” she says like you had already told her. You break eye contact with Jason and look at her. She’s smiling and you can't find any malice in it, so you tell her. She nods like she already knows and points to the boy sitting next to her.

“This is Tim,” she points to Jason, “and obviously you already know Jason.” You hear a quiet thud from under the table and Tim flinches but smirks as he looks at Jason.

“You missed,” he turns to look up at you, “It's nice to meet you fin-” he cuts himself off and you wonder what the last word was.

You nod politely, “you too,” you say and look at Jason again for some explanation and a defeated look crosses his features as he shrugs.

“Brother” is all Jason gives, and you nod in semi-understanding. Based on the few mentions of family in passing conversations, you had always guessed he had a tense relationship with them.

“I didn’t know you had siblings.”  You look back at the two. Tim and Jason could definitely be brothers. Aside from their stature and slight skin tone difference, everything else is similar. Black hair, blue eyes. Though you would argue that Jason’s were prettier because they were green sometimes. Not that it mattered. Your eyes meet Stephs again. Blonde hair, green eyes, bright smile. Very different looking than the two boys.

“Are you the only girl in the family?”

Steph makes a gagging sound, “I’m not family, Thank God!” Tim snorts at her over dramatics.

“I’m sorry.” Your face flushes slightly as you flounder, “Then what…?” Your hand gestures to them all sitting at the table.

Jason's eyes narrow on your embarrassed state.

“Don’t worry, she’s just a leech.”

“Hey!”

“Would you mind getting me one of those chocolate croissants?”

You shift on your feet with a look of confusion. He never asks for anything else. You nod, “Sure, anything else for the table?”

Tim looks like he’s about to ask for something, but Jason cuts him off with a glare. Instead, he shakes his head no. You hesitantly step away from the table but take your time going back to the kitchen to pull out one of the chocolate croissants and warm it up. Your eyes periodically glance back at the table. They crouch over the table and talk to each other. You worry for a moment that they’re talking about you and then decide that it doesn’t really matter. You had only met Tim and Steph today. Their opinion of you was worthless and You knew Jason wasn’t one for gossiping about others. You’ve watched Darla try and fail. Once you finally make it back over to the table with the croissant, Tim and Steph are gone leaving their half-full drinks on the table.

As you set the plate on the table you ask, “Scare them off?”

Jason lets out a sigh.

“If only. I’m sorry if they made you uncomfortable.” You shake your head in response.

“I'm sorry I made assumptions before I had all the information. I hope I didn’t offend.”

“I doubt you could ever offend anyone sweetheart” Your cheeks warm again.

“That’s not true I work in a public job, and I offend people all the time just standing” you joke. Jason smiles and nods.

“That’s fair. How could you be so lazy?” he teases. You giggle.

 “Speaking of lazy, I should get back to work.” You point a thumb over your shoulder where a man leaves a table full of dishes.

“What time do you get off?” he asks. Your body freezes mid-turn at his abrupt question.

“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to” he adds on, “I just enjoyed walking with you the other day and I parked my bike around the same area again, so I thought maybe…” He trails off his own cheeks flushing. Your body relaxes as you look at your watch to think. He had convenient timing; you were off soon. It was nice having someone to walk with and it wouldn’t hurt to see him on his bike again. You nod with warmed cheeks.

“I get off in about thirty minutes if you don’t mind waiting?” you say as your eyes meet his. He nods, smiling.

“It’ll give me time to read.” He lifts his book that was sitting on the table, the cover reading Pride and Prejudice.

“Again?” You can't help but ask. He looks at the book cover and rolls his eyes.

“You really want to have this conversation again?” you shake your head quickly at his question.

“I'll see you in thirty minutes.” With that, you walk away from him and throw yourself into your finishing tasks.

Additional notes: This was originally a much longer chapter but I decided to split it up. So, the next chapter is about them walking home. I have to tell you I cannot wait for ya’ll to read the next one cause I got carried away for like three seconds and had to do some backtracking. The plot was happening where I didn’t want it. I loved having Tim and Steph involved in this and just not being subtle about anything. Jason may have tried to kill Tim once but that won't stop him from being a little shit. ALRIGHT, *cracks knuckles* let's get into that teaser, shall we?

Should I itemize this? I think I'm going to itemize it lmao.

So:

Starting here because this is a baseline for Stede, he's got no neckerchief here. This is likely early in the season, probably the very start.

Man's got a fuckin' ARM.

This is Ed. You can see the bare right arm in both shots.

Red neckerchief. Ed's scrap of silk? Beat to shit if it is, which, he did toss it out to sea so, it would be.

Ed's not wearing the knee brace. Or gloves for that matter. I know the knee brace being an actual mobility aid is unconfirmed canon/fanon but it does make me :(c to see him without it. Either it wasn't actually considered as a mobility aid or he's lost it like he's lost his gloves OR he's going without it because he doesn't care if it hurts.

I just wanted to point out all the knives stabbed into the table. Also, those look like bits of paper on the windows, did they keep some of the books to repurpose for window blocking purposes?

THERE HE IS!!!!!!!! Other people have already pointed out the makeup and his ring still on his tie, along with the whip on his hip cjizzy real. He's got a new baldric but I also think his clothes look. Darker? Than in season 1? This is a darker/heavier contrast setting but it carries into other shots of him too I think? Like they're less sun/saltwater faded or something?

Other thing to note: If I have my orientation right, this is to the right of Stede's bed nook and to the left of the library, which means this shelf is the one with the auxiliary wardrobe opening mechanism. Which I bring up because:

This little guy seems to be in the place of the mannequin. Ed kept the auxiliary wardrobe and gothed up the mannequin to justify it still being there.

SO much here. This is, I'm fairly certain, Benjamin Hornigold. This camp he's set up (along with what he's wearing) looks like it was made out of a shipwreck. Ed's barefoot and missing his jacket and gloves, and his shirt's torn up at the sleeves. Definitely where he washed up from his dip in the ocean.

Note the trees and the lighting, that comes up later. Ed shoots here and Ben moves with the shot but it doesn't look like he was actually HIT by it to my eyes.

'Wanted. |Blackbeard| Villainous Pirate. Murderer, thrice over. $400 Reward for the criminal responsible for: theft - brigandry - larceny - arson - tax evasion ➡' Presumably there are more crimes/info on the back, though we see the reverse side in the next cut and it's either blank or all in very small text, I couldn't quite tell.

The poster to the right says 'Port' something which has me wondering Port Royal but that's just the only 'Port' something I know, could def be somewhere else.

Babygirl. . . But also that Bride Ed figure kinda slays. Little bralette with the midriff showing, I see you Babygirl. When will he be allowed to just rest and do silly little crafts WITHOUT heartbreak looming over him?

Well. Four is not nine. So. There's that. The other five could be used or out of frame though, of course.

OH. He's back to his fingerless gloves! They might actually be different from his original ones though, they look different at the wrist to me, not quite sure though.

The BOYS!!!! Frenchie looks like he's having a GREAT time. Considering he suggested they turn the hostage into a table and complained about the Republic of Pirates being a bit gentrified I'd say this is more in line with what he's used to in piracy. I 100% buy he was going along with Stede's way because he knew it was an easy ride compared to real piracy. This wouldn't necessarily be a return to form for him but definitely something he's more used to? And he gets to be kitty :3c

And FANG!!! Look at him showing a bit more skin!! Good for him!!

Everybody say 'Thank You David Jenkins'. Right now. Look at this Mad Max shit. Fuckin' Imperator Jimenez right there. LOVE that tye added the 'beard' after the 'fuck's wrong with your face?' bit in 1x10. Full 'it looked weird on you but I slay' energy.

Near as I can tell at least. I can't make out if Frenchie is in the shot and I'm pretty positive Ed isn't cause he stayed by the cake when they charged in.

Man, yknow I know we were all kinda clowning on it a bit at the end of 1x10 but this look really is so JARRING. Like, in the dark it's menacing but in the light? It's unhinged and that reads as more dangerous imo.

Also just for comparison's sake the pre-Ed-ified version of the bride figure. He really did full on customize that thing lol.

I DON'T THINK ANNE KISSED STEDE HERE. It feels out of character of the show to pull the 'It's fine if a woman does it to a man' kind of thing with regard to unwanted kissing. This is the frame the scene starts on in the trailer. She's leaning back from him and isn't nearly close enough to his mouth to say for certain that's where she was coming from. My money is on her leaning in to whisper something into his ear, maybe under the guise of it being an advance/intended kiss, which would also explain the annoyed look when she's interrupted. She either got ACTUALLY interrupted or it's part of the act. Stede doesn't look nearly as uncomfortable as he would be if she'd kissed him or tried to, he looks confused.

Izzy going for his sword when this guy tries to get the drop on Stede. He either is starting to care or he knows how much Ed needs him alive.

Also, this is the other potential source of Stede's neckerchief. Mr, Knife right here has a red one and Stede doesn't have it in this scene. I do think this one is a little less distressed than the one Stede has though so it could just be coincidence.

See? No neckerchief. He DOES have a sword at his hip tho! So this, I think, is after Izzy's started training him.

Also, he actually looks really good in red lol.

Baby. He's definitely missing the ring in this shot. It sits higher than the baldric is covering. I want to give him a little kissie on his ouchie and then let him have a nap, he needs that.

The pants match the coat. Also, black shirt. Stede is kinda slaying ngl.

ANYWAY. On the left (our left) side of the barrel you can see the tip of his right boot so he's def got that leg off the ground. Perhaps someone is trying to relearn their footwork? Now that they've got a different balance than they're used to? And perhaps a difference in sensory input in the leg he's standing on? Possibly?

This is the same beach Ed was on when he did the fuckin' RAD takedown of the other officer but it definitely looks like different times of day. Having both in the teaser is def meant to be a red herring. He doesn't have the neckerchief in this shot either.

Is Jackie's hair the same here as it is in the VF pic with Ed? Or like, similar enough to be a 'later in the day after some Fun™ messing it up a bit'?

Roach!!! Fully sleeveless now, added a belt, got some flowers tied to the strings/straps of his apron. Looks like he's having fun lighting that cannon lol. Pretty sure this is the same scene as that one leaked photo of him dancing with Fang and Izzy's green screen sock. He had the flowers in that, right?

Thinking about the Lighthouse wisps and them being helpful as well as up to mischief.

Emmrich: fitting themselves around the edges of whatever book he's reading when candles burn low, so he still has light to read by without using his own magic reserves. For mischief - yeeting said book across (or up) his study.

Manfred: knocking books Manfred's after from higher shelves so he doesn't have to clatter up a ladder, and tinkle-chirping from the general location of whatever other bits and bobs Manfred's looking for. For mischief - hiding said items or zipping off with Manfred's scarf or a glove, and it winds up a merry game of chase down the wisp.

Harding: nudging around pots so plants have all around light exposure, reducing the risk of leaf damage (let nature work alongside magic), or helping her gather up seeds that've accidentally been scattered into every Maker-damned nook and cranny. Diving in and out of soil when she's repotting to make holes and divots for her to work with. For mischief - doing this with Harding in range so there's clumps of soil and fertiliser in her hair and on her clothes, and knocking over watering cans (but not onto the plants!)

Bellara: relocating her quill whenever she misplaces it, chiming over the inkpot when she's running low during a writing session, and nudging over the next ingredient she needs when it's her turn to cook. For mischief - doodling on her face with the ink when she's sleeping, and swapping out seasonings when she's not paying attention (sugar for salt, pepper for paprika, etc)

Neve: bundling her notes back up into their proper order whenever they're knocked over, chiming over particular bits of paper to draw Neve's attention to the scribbles, and sure enough it's what she needed to spark a theory from where she's vocalised being stuck. For mischief - stealing absolutely anything not nailed down in her room. Especially her hats.

Davrin: playing with Assan and distracting him while Davrin's carving. Kicking up little whirlwinds of the wood shavings from his work, and by the time he's done there's no cleanup to be had because they've been swept out as the wisps have teased Assan into open air for some flying. For mischief - nug carving treasure hunt around the Lighthouse. And the DA equivalent of laser pointers for griffons, so Assan pounces on Davrin whenever he's daft enough to nap in his chair.

Lucanis: Spite is somewhat territorial of his Crow and their space so the wisps can't be directly helpful while they're around, but whenever Lucanis returns from an outing his yarn stash is always reorganised from the chaos Spite left it in (they know better than to interfere with anything involving an assassin's weapons, so they stick to the yarn). For mischief - playing tag with Spite around the pantry and leaving a trap somewhere, without fail, to keep Lucanis on his toes. Otherwise there's an entire bag of flour to be upended on his head (his coffee!)

Taash: the wisps learn Taash's exercise routines and become their own personal cheer squad to push for one more rep, and one more, last one! Their routine with the arm ropes, the armour, the LoF jewellery and regalia and lifting every second or third piece for Taash, in the correct order. Trailing cloth and straw and string in the air to create moving objects for Taash to practise their fire breathing on. For mischief - they can't carry a full watering can but they can carry little clay pots and bowls, and so the fire Taash has scattered around, they extinguish, and Taash relights, and they extinguish, back and forth and back and forth (until Taash isn't upset anymore, they're either a bit grumpy or laughing as they chase the wisps away)

the winter breeze is brutal.

coupled with the featherlight flutters of falling snow, there’s nothing you want more than a mug of hot coffee, hot chocolate, hot anything. not hot enough to scald, not lukewarm, just right — warm to the touch of your hand and a heat that reaches to the depths of your bones and every crevice.

your gloved hands are shoved into the pockets of your coat, hanging heavy on your shoulders with a nice weight akin to a grandmother’s hug. god knows you need one right now, the colder days haven’t been kind to you and just getting yourself up and out of the house is a struggle all on it’s own. maybe some fresh air will do you some good, but it doesn’t feel like it when the snow’s crunching under your feet and soles of your shoes barely find purchase on the pavement as you take slightly faster but cautious steps towards alchemy’s brew.

the soft chime upon stepping in welcomes you with a sweet tune, the warmth that envelops you causing a sigh to slip out. this place was always a cosy visit no matter the season, a little nook that was a pleasant surprise to find and become your regular caffeine pick-me-up spot. you shoot a smile at the young barista working the counter as she greets you, walking over to a small table which is seemingly the only one unoccupied in a quiet corner.

small items prove difficult to handle with gloves on, let alone dollar bills and change as you fumble with your belongings. dusting away flits of white and gently tugging the fabric off your hands finger by finger, you drop them off on the table and turn around only to bump straight into a firm surface, eyes widening at the flash of jet black before you can stop your movements.

“oof—“ “woah watch ou—“

kuroo isn’t having the best day, well morning, the day just started. emails and emails, did i mention emails, bombarding his inbox and gods it’s his day off, do they even see his out of office notice? surely they can read.

it’s cold out and he much prefers the warmth of his apartment but alas, he is driven by a caffeine addiction. corporate norm if you will. he’s been meaning to try out this cafe since he moved here but he’s been so caught up with everything and everywhere in between that it just became a forlorn thought at the back of his mind, months passing and it still remains an untouched pin on his map.

he needs to step out and put his laptop away from his line of sight before he breaks his personal “no work on my off day unless it’s an emergency” rule, why not take the chance?

so he finds himself at the front of the line of alchemy’s brew, slipping the barista change and a polite smile, turning to find a seat while his hands warm up from a delicious hot drink, head in the clouds and lost in thought. maybe things are looking up.

until he completely fails to see ahead of him and collides into a smaller frame.

“i am so sorry!” you and the unfortunate individual that you ran into blurt out simultaneously, minds in sync to the horror of the scene in front of you, marked not by splotches of red, but a rich brown against tan vinyl.

your eyes quickly scan his clothing, letting out a held breath at its unstained appearance. finally bringing your gaze up to his face, the first thing you note is his very tussled hair, it resembles the ruffled feathers of a bird, or maybe more like a black cat that’s just had its coat aggressively petted and you can’t help but let the corner of your lip quirk up in amusement for just a split second before returning to a concerned frown. poor guy just wanted to have a peaceful morning and a hot drink and you probably ruined it.

what looks like a hot chocolate sloshes in the cup in his hands, slowly coming to a still after the sudden movement just a moment ago. what you assume was once full now stands half empty, and you meet his gaze with a wince, mustering up the most genuine apologetic smile you can, hands twiddling in nervousness.

“really, i’m so sorry about that, i should’ve seen where i was going.” you gesture towards his drink, “can i get you another—“

you visit this place regularly enough that you can easily get a new one for free and having made friends with the barista on shift today. you’d be willing to pay either way, it would be the right thing to do. you just want to move on from this situation as quickly as possible, the stares from the other customers starting to get under your skin.

he’s quick to cut you off with a panicked wave of his hand, “no, no, you don’t have to! you had your back turned to me, you couldn’t have known. if anything it’s my fault really.”

the way his eyes widen and words spill from his lips hurriedly doesn't quell the guilt, and instead makes you double down even more, unable to stop yourself from wanting to make it up to this seemingly sweet soul, lord knows you'd be on the verge of a breakdown if the same thing happened to you. “oh my god please, it’s the least i can do.”

"no, no, no, ok how about this— since we're both alone, or at least i assume you are? correct me if i'm wrong—"

the cafe's unexpectedly pretty busy on this saturday morning, a steady stream of customers and quiet chatter filling the air. there’s something for everyone here no matter the vibe or purpose, a solace standing the in midst of the cold like a crackling fireplace, a sanctuary.

as nice as the place is, you'd think no one in the right frame of mind other than yourself would be willing to get out of their warm bed and come outside in the snow — no one in your circle is at least, and you're certainly not waiting on anyone.

"i am!" you sound almost too chirpy affirming him about that and he thinks you so adorable.

"okay perfect, you can repay me with your company then."

"oka— wait what. are you sure?"

"i promise it's fine, you seem nice and i uh, would like to get to know you! i-if that's what you're comfortable with—" kuroo leaves out the part where you were settling down in the table he was eyeing before this whole thing happened, but he's slightly flustered, usually certain and sure but now thrown into a loop by the pretty girl that crash landed into his day, not that he's complaining. well other than maybe his spilled drink but that’s totally on him.

now that the initial shock is over, meeting his hazel eyes with a smile, you only just notice how pretty they are and compliment the rest of his features well, finally taking note that the man before you is actually very handsome and suddenly you're slightly bashful and even more embarrassed about what just transpired.

thankful that your scarf covers a little bit of your newly flushed demeanor, you nod with a shy smile and eyes averted, "i'd like that."

with a matching grin, he puts his cup down and pulls out a chair for you, and as you try to subtlety squint your eyes to peek at a scribbled name somewhere on his cup, he notices and laughs, a sound you think may be the music to your reddenned ears for the next hour or so. you’re not sure if the colour is still a reflection of the cold or a growing interest in this unnamed man, but who are you kidding, it’s more likely the latter.

“it’s kuroo, well—my name’s kuroo.”

it surprises yourself that as you sit across kuroo, this man that you just accidentally met in the middle of a cafe on a wintry morning, you think that there's nothing more in the moment that you want than to make him laugh again.

Blitz's Horse Ranch - Sims 4

I did it, I made a lovely little ranch for Blitz, Stolas, Via, & Loona. Here's some pics. (Horse count is around 30 last I checked, btw)

Exterior Shots: Front, Front Porch, Back - I'm not a great builder, it looks big but all of the rooms are somehow so small? IDK, but we ran with what we built. (also most intricate roofing job of my life i swear) Landscaping was done with Stolas in mind, I think he'd keep it all looking very pretty... I'll do the back at some point, plus probably put a little garden out there. We also have a telescope on the second story deck and a nectar making station for Blitz on the back porch lmao

Interior:

Foyer/Kitchen/Dining Room - I tried to pull in little pieces where I could, apart from all the horses, but also the polaroids & photos on the wall. (I intend to play with them, so all the blank frames are there to fill during gameplay.)

Informal Family Room - I spent like twenty minutes choosing a couch... this is about where I lost my commitment to using as much of the Horse Ranch pack as I could... I still think I used a whole lot, though.

Formal Living Room/Bar Room - IDK what this is, but I know Stolas got to design it (there's also a lovely bar back that for some reason just wasn't showing up while I was taking these screenshots?? It's not just that little bar on that side of the room I swear)

Guest Room (For when Millie & Moxxie come over) - Very simple, because for the most part this is just an extra room where I'll probably keep skill items.

Primary Bedroom & En Suite - Blitz & Stolas - I tried to really lean into a story here, I love coming up with a story as I'm building, and this story... well, I think it's clear to see that there were many battles when they were moving in together. Stolas won when it came to picking out furniture, but he obviously caved for some of Blitz's design choices... namely the monstrosity of a rug. He hates it because its' ugly, but he loves it because Blitz loved it enough to offer sexual favors for a month if they could buy it. (An empty bribe, it's not like that wasn't going to happen anyway.)

Loona's Room & En Suite - You can probably tell that I started getting bored once I got upstairs... I've been doing this for about eight hours, I'll definitely go back in and add more to the upstairs, but this is what we have for now for Loona. (Claw marks are there bc of nightmares, just so you have that angsty backstory I came up with.)

Via's Room - I feel bad because its so small, I'm already planning to renovate it, but this is what I got for now.

Stolas's Reading Room - This was the first room I decorated and it probably shows, but honestly I loved making him a little library/reading nook here. He also has a cow plant, and once it's seasonally appropriate in-game, he'll get a little garden out back.

I also made them and started playing (Blitz rescued his first horse, Sunbeam). This is the only screen shot I remembered to take, and Loona started walking away as I took it - rude - but they were all just sat together in the family room watching a movie it was so sweet!

I did make Stolas & Via spellcasters, and Loona a werewolf. (I'll have to throw my Angel & Molly into this save as their neighbors.)

Cupcraft's Sims 4 Build Requests Challenge

Hi Hi! I have been very Sims 4 build-pilled for the past couple years and you can see builds I've posted on the tag #cup.builds (or by gallery, DispleasedBrick).

Thought I'd challenge myself to do small builds on request but to challenge myself.

I am doing a 2 pack challenge (+ basegame always included).

General Rules:

I won't use any custom content in the build itself.

I can only use packs I own, so if you request a pack I do not own it won't be included obviously (I will make clear what I own!).

Debug & Basegame will be fair game as long as its only debug for basegame or the packs you requested. Basegame will always be included.

I am doing this for free on my own free time so requests won't be quick necessarily and I may not finish them all/take all requests (depends on how many I get really).

How to Request:

Requests I'm looking for in the format of: I'd like you to try to build a STYLE/THEME/CHARACTER'S HOUSE/ROOM/APARTMENT/ETC. With 2 PACKS YOU OWN OF MY CHOICE. So for example "I'd like you to build Gregory House's apartment with everyday clutter kit and seasons" or "I'd like you to build a modern ranch house with horse ranch and eco lifestyle" etc.

You can also request minor terrain/misc things ie "it'd be nice if the home had a pond!" or even "try to include these color palette I like!"

Do not request very large and complex things ie castles, giant manors, things that involve extreme terrain manipulation (Ie mountain house). This challenge I also won't rennovate any townie houses. Not that i would never do a request like that but I want these to be finishable. I will build most houses and styles :). Even something as small as a room or apartment rennovation (not townie house, but apartments are more feasible ie the ones in eco-lifestyle or the highrise in lovestruck).

I ask for now that if you request the everyday clutter kit you are mindful that currently the game is glitched and it is missing 17 items and it has not yet been patched!

I have bonded pair of a Wout and a Jonas. They recently became friends with a Mathieu whilst out hunting and did not growl at each other but worked as a team! They've seen each a lot since then, do you think it's safe for a Mathieu to be included in the bond?

This is a beautiful example of a natural and spontaneously developing bond.

In the wild, a Mathieu will initially conduct parallel hunts beside a potential bonded companion. Once both are reassured neither wishes to harm the other, their hunts will gradually converge until a hunting partnership emerges. If it is mating season, a Mathieu will then present his potential mate with a gift of prey he has brought down himself. If his chosen mate consumes it, they will progress to courtship rituals such as play-hunting each other. You can expect to see some of these behaviours if your Jonas and Wout are interested in the Mathieu.

Wouts are deeply protective companions, and that your Wout is willing to trust this Mathieu to hunt beside your Jonas is an excellent sign! A Wout who wishes to show interest will vocalise frequently and softly, with gentle rumbles distinct from an aggressive growl. He may even roll over to show his belly.

Your Jonas may show his own interest by inviting the Mathieu to bask with him. This can involve repeatedly circling a basking nook, with many glances towards the Mathieu. This is a deeply intimate activity, as Jonases often clean each other while basking. If things progress to the point where the Jonas and Mathieu are basking together by snuggling up to your Wout in lieu of a heat lamp, you can congratulate yourself on a successfully formed bond!

When introducing a Mathieu into an already occupied enclosure, ensure sufficient hides are present to allow each of its inhabitants their own space when needed. Your Wout will have his den, and your Jonas his basking nook, but it is important that your new Mathieu have a space that is entirely his own too. Don't forget to transfer his enrichment toys and comfort items to his new home, as despite the bond the amount of new scents may be initially overwhelming to him. The three of them will likely soon be inseparable!

The Sims 4 Free Content Update

What’s a birthday without gifts? On February 4th, The Sims 4 base game will receive a huge update, bringing 70+ new in-game items to all players. There will be new Create a Sim options, including two new hairstyles, baby hairs added to three classic hairstyles, and a goatee for those looking for new facial hair options. Kiddos won’t be left out, as Toddlers will receive a new hairdo! In addition, there will be new clothing from head to toe, like a new turtleneck and bodysuit, along with jackets, jeans, bike shorts, and so much more. And don’t forget to accessorize with a gold chain or a classy set of pearls, a fitted cap, and new shoes, including heels, sneakers, and sandals.

The Sims 4 Blast From The Past Event Begins

Get ready for a free, limited-time Event where you'll need to venture into Live Mode to participate.

The Sims 4 Blast From The Past Event will feature rewards inspired by iconic items from the 2000s, like a milk carton, telephone, alarm clock, triple-tiered birthday cake, and inflatable chair and loveseat. 

The Sims FreePlay: FreePlay 2000 Events

The Sims FreePlay has an exciting update planned! Starting February 4th, we’re taking you back to the 2000s, where The Sims all began. Participate in special events, unlock velour tracksuits, and enjoy 25 days of in-game gifts featuring some of the most iconic items from The Sims' history!

Finally, we're wrapping up the birthday celebration with something really special. This March, The Sims FreePlay will release a new option to add enhanced lighting for all your home lots. With this addition to the game, sun rays will be able to flood a room, giving it a bright and lofty feeling, or you can dim the lights and create a cozy nook in front of a flickering fireplace. We can’t wait to see how Simmers use it to make their perfect homes.

MySims: Cozy Bundle is Coming to PC

Has anyone else not been able to put down the MySims: Cozy Bundle since it was released on Nintendo Switch? The retro re-release includes MySims and MySims Kingdom, where players can explore familiar worlds full of puzzles to solve, locations to discover, and fan-favorite characters DJ Candy, Yuki and Chef Gino to meet. There’s plenty to build, paint and decorate! 

The MySims: Cozy Bundle on Nintendo Switch also includes Create a Sim customization options, blueprints, decorations, fun characters and The Gardens location—content previously exclusive to the original MySims on PC.

Speaking of which (drumroll, please)... the MySims: Cozy Bundle will be coming to PC on March 18! We can’t wait to share more with you all soon. Preorder MySims: Cozy Bundle on PC via EA app™, Epic Games Store and Steam®.

New Experiences from The Sims Labs: Updated Townie Homes, New Main Menu and more

You may remember that last Fall, we shared some BIG updates on The Future of The Sims, including a movie based on The Sims.

We’re happy to share that The Sims is looking Plumbob green as The Sims Labs has been cooking! We’ve learned so much from recent playtests, and that’s all thanks to the thousands of players that jumped into the various innovations across future and current Sims products. And just a reminder for all the Simmers that have helped us in our playtests, what you might see are slices of experiences that are in very early phases of development, and we’re still finalizing the final product.

All Simmers have experienced the great work that’s come out of The Sims Labs, including the “Apply All” button and the “Occult Switcher” in The Sims 4. We will continue to keep innovating the game experience as part of commitment to building and improving The Sims 4, including the main menu:

Your latest save will now be front and center and ready for you to hop back in and play. The good news? This main menu update is now available for everyone!

Alongside today’s main menu update, the team renovated and rebuilt the iconic townie homes with the content and items released from the base game updates over the years for The Sims 4. The refreshed townie homes including the Pancake, Goth, Caliente, Landgraab and BFF houses, now have pools, hundreds of swatches and more! You can read more in the Patch Notes here.

You nearly gasped as you stepped away to approach the nearby booth. It had been so long since you had seen the sweet treat, and you chuckled to yourself at the memory of having to be pulled away from it so many times. It was a seasonal enjoyment for you and your family all those years ago, and you wanted nothing more than to pass the tradition on.

"How much for this?" The merchant answered your question and you handed over the necessary amount of credits. "Thank you so much for this!" Your voice was as warm as the sensation in your chest as you joined Din at his side once again.

"What's that?" Din's voice was solely curious as his gloved fingers pointed at the bundle in your hand.

You nudged his arm with your own. "It's a surprise." You smirked and tucked the bundle into your belt. "I'll show you when we get home."

Even Grogu cooed with curiosity at that, his ears rising while he sat in the nook of Din's arm. Din tilted his helmet and subtly brushed a hand over your back. "In that case, I'll be quick about finding the last of the supplies."

You laughed and shook your head. Din, of course, followed through on his word, and soon you were stepping inside the cabin you called home. Din set Grogu on the counter before he began putting supplies away, and you began to unravel the bundle on your belt.

Grogu made his way closer to you to inspect the item. You grinned and showed the dark-colored powder to him.

"I bet you've never had anything like this before." You began to heat some water. "It's cocoa, straight from Chandrila."

Your words also caught Din's attention. "Cocoa?" He repeated the word from where he stood with the lip of his helmet practically hovering above your shoulder.

You turned around to face him and nodded. "Have you ever had it before?" Din shook his head. You smiled wider and began to distribute the powder into three mugs. "You just wait. It'll be one of the best things you've ever had in your life."

Din removed his helmet and set it aside. "That's quite a promise you're making."

You gently hit your shoulder against his own. "And I intend on keeping it."

You thanked the stars for the quickness of your boiler, and soon you were combining and mixing the three mugs together. The smell alone brought you back to your childhood, only making you more giddy as you soon handed a mug to both Grogu and Din.

"It's very hot," you warned them. "So be careful."

Din furrowed his brow and smelled it up close. His brow instantly relaxed as he closed his eyes in delight. "Smells great already."

You brought your mug up to your lips and blew on the hot liquid. "I told you."

Din swished his mug around and began to draw his first careful sip. You held your breath, excited to share this small piece of your past with him. His eyes widened as he truly tasted it, his brown gaze sparkling as he offered you an impressed look. "You weren't wrong." He lifted the mug in his hand. "This is very good."

You beamed at him, using your thumb to wipe away some of the cocoa that stuck to the hair on his upper lip. "Yeah?"

Din's cheeks began to flush as he nodded. "Yeah."

You turned and rested against his armored chest, letting his arm secure you in place as you focused on Grogu. "And what about you, buddy?"

Grogu set down his mug that was already empty, letting out a burp and a satisfied coo. You laughed and shook your head, only feeling more amused as Din did the same behind you. It was a sweeter memory than the drink ever had been itself, especially as you got to share it with your new family.

Strangetown Zoo & Optimum Alfred’s Tech Factory TS4 Lots

I couldn't find versions of these lots on the Sims 4 Gallery, so I made my own versions! Both lots are CC-free residential lots and use a handful of packs.

The Strangetown Zoo lot is made with the idea of Sancho & Bigfoot (2 Sims, Bigfoot lives in the top floor) living there. It also has objects for taking care of chickens, cats, dogs, and mini goats and mini sheep.

Optimum Alfred’s Tech Factory was made with Optimum Alfred, a Servo, in mind, but it had items that can be used to restore all of a regular Sim’s needs. There’s some lighting glitches in it, but I'm not sure how to fix any of them?

It costs §56,284. Most packs aren't actually needed, as they're just used for decor.

Optimum Alfred’s Factory uses: For Rent, Horse Ranch, Cottage Living, Discover University, Get Famous, Cats and Dogs, City Living, Get to Work, Werewolves, StrangerVille, Vampires, Dine Out, Outdoor Retreat, Laundry Day Stuff, Spooky Stuff, Basement Treasures Kit, and Blooming Rooms Kit. It costs §63,490. Get to Work, Werewolves, StrangerVille, and Horse Ranch are extensively used.

I know holiday season is over, but I just thought of the best holiday scenario for the Sturniolo triplets!!!

Scenario: You and the triplets are going to your family’s house for Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year’s, and it’s the first time that they’ll be experiencing your folks’ unique style of cooking. In your household, when it comes to food, it’s all about large proportions and tantalizing flavors. Every holiday season, your family goes big, making enough food to feed two football teams… and, oh boy, is that food delicious! Fried chicken, Mac and Cheese, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Collard Greens, Deviled Eggs, Ham, Sweet Potatoes, and all sorts of delicious things! The triplets have never had a meal like the one your folks have got prepared, and they don’t know what they’re in for.

Aftermath: The guys absolutely loved your family’s good ol’ southern cooking. They were a little put off at first, but once they took their first bites, they were hooked. Enchanted by the deep, rich flavors of all the foods they tried, they each ate way more than they thought they would… and now, they’re dealing with the consequences of their greed.

Here’s how I think it goes:

Chris:

Of the three, Chris has definitely eaten the most food. Usually, he’s picky about what he eats, and doesn’t really like to try things that he isn’t familiar with… but he was hypnotized by the spread that your mom put out, and made sure to sample every single item on the menu. From his very first taste of your aunt’s Mac and Cheese, he was addicted… going back for seconds, thirds, fourths, and fifths. Eventually he lost track of his number of servings… and then his manners… and then the time. It’s only been a couple of hours… hours of him hanging out with your relatives, having a good time with everybody, and eating most of the food… but, for all he knows, he’s been stuffing his face for days. Now he’s down in the basement, laying on one of the couches like a corpse — bloated up like a blimp, sweating buckets, and flowing in and out of consciousness. He’s miserable and full of gas, but it just won’t come out. All of that food and hot air is trapped at the top of his stomach, in one big clump, creating an alien shape… like he’s pregnant with an inhuman baby, with an enlarged cranium. That clump isn’t budging anytime soon. Chris’s gut is making so much noise, it’s hard to hear anything else over the sound of its gurgling and churning. Needless to say, as much as he enjoyed the food, he greatly regrets having let himself pig out.

Nick:

When it came to making his plate, Nick was the most reserved of the three. He stuck with the foods that he knew, and hardly stacked them up on his plate. He found a corner of the room to get comfortable in, ate very slowly, and snuck back into the dining room to grab seconds… then repeated the process again. Like a mouse, he just shrunk into the corner, trying not to bring any attention to himself as he ate. He’s had that energy about him all day — a bit closed-off, cautious, and tense. Nick only had two plates of food… and yet, somehow, he’s gotten the most bloated. Maybe he’s got a sensitive stomach, or his insides aren’t agreeing with something that he ate… but he’s even rounder than Chris is. His belly is massive, and so taut, and he’s trying his best to hide it. He looks like he’s super pregnant… and, like a pregnant woman, he’s not hiding his bulging midsection well. He’s been hiding in a corner in the basement ever since he finished eating, just keeping to himself. He tried to sequester himself in your bedroom, to be alone and away from everyone, but you wouldn’t let him disappear like that. When he’s not tucked away in his little nook, Nick is in the bathroom, trying to get whatever’s going on inside him to move through his system as quickly as possible… but nothing’s budging. He doesn’t feel sick, or tired… just heavy, gross, tight, and embarrassed. He only wants to be invisible.

Matt:

Matt ate a pretty good amount of food. He picked his favorite items, and kept going back for more of the same things… which you expected. He’s hot and cold when it comes to his willingness to switch things up, and it seems like he was introduced to your family’s cooking on a cold day. Though he stuck to a lot of the drier foods — like some of the breads and deserts — and only had thirds, he’s been in the bathroom for what feels like ages now. It’s not that Matt feels sick, or anything, but all that food definitely moved right through him, and he’s been occupodo since he finished his last plate. He was reluctant to use the toilet at first, not wanting to be disrespectful to your folks… but when he realized that he couldn’t contain himself anymore, he stopped questioning it, and bit the bullet. God knows what he’s doing in there. It can’t be pretty.

You:

You’ve been keeping your eyes on everyone, just to make sure they’re all doing okay. You rest with Chris on the couch, gently rubbing his tight belly, to help him feel a little bit better. You reason with Nick, reassuring him about his bloating and playing it down, so he’s not as insecure as he tends to be. You get up and check on Matt every now and then, making sure he’s not dying on the toilet. It’s hard work, taking care of triplets… but you’re cut out for it. After all, this is exactly how it’s going to be when holiday season rolls around again.
