Science Cont Yapping

Character Concepts, Ideas, Possible things, oh my ! Mostly putting this out here to discuss my thought process, you can have a look into my mind if you'd like and lmk what you think !

OK ! So I think I've sorted how I'm going to go about the science continuity ! I'm thinking that I'll split it into two (like how IDW Robots in Disguise and MTMTE take place during the same time but follow two different storylines and eventually fit back together). So we have Science AU Ambition - following Jetfire, Wheeljack, Ratchet, and Perceptor stuck on the moon of Ambition trying to accomplish their mission (finding a way to restore Cybertron + returning home)

Science AU Cybertron - an anthology following various different characters as they struggle to fight a war on a dying Cybertron

Brainstorm and Prowl start out on Cybertron but eventually make their way to where Jetfire and the others are.

I'm still trying to keep this on a small scale but omg it's so hard when I want to do so much and there's so many characters and moving parts.

But here are some fun stuffs; character concepts !

Women have arrived ! I heavily changed Lifeline from her G1 version.

Design wise; I drastically changed her, I wanted to give her a bigger build, I think I could've definitely pushed it a bit more but I want Quickslinger to have a vastly different and heavier build compared to her.

here's what I have in mind for Lifeline;

She works with her bodyguard and assistant Quickslinger and their job is to stabilize critically injured bots on the battlefield so they can be brought back to the base's Medbay, First Aid and Red Alert can handle the rest.

Lifeline is their superior while Ratchet is away and she's more experienced than First and Red. First Aid wants to be a field medic as well but Lifeline keeps telling him no, mostly because he's too inexperienced and she's low-key scared something is going to happen to him because well. They lost Pharma and Ambulon.

In terms of personality, Lifeline is more serious and exhaustion from working has drained her. Fighting is not her forte nor is it something she wishes to participate in, but if push comes to shove she'll immobilize her opponents with the electromagnetic pulse in her palms or she'll just sick Quickslinger on them. She's desensitized to a lot of the horrors on the battlefield and someone needs to give her a paid vacation asap.

Oh also Minerva will be here eventually she's another medic, she mostly works with making the medicine.

Of course, Miss Arcee is here too, she goes on scouting patrols with Bumblebee and Hotrod and they're besties. I imagine they all have a more sibling dynamic with one another.

Arcee I imagine is a mix of Cyberverse and Earthspark in terms of personality, she's chipper, fun to be around, and shows her affection through punching. Arcee has a big heart and that is both a strength and weakness, she would not hesitate to throw herself in recklessly into combat if it meant protecting her allies. She's more a melee type of fighter and uses her speed to her advantage. I kept her design relatively simple and kept her pinks light since I wanted Elita-1 to have darker pinks.

Hear me out guys,, what if Thundercracker was an Autobot ? I'm biased but PLEASE !! THUNDERCRACKER !!

I changed his outlier ability to be more electrical based. As for his defection from the Decepticons.. I imagine he was nonaligned for a while but realized he can't survive alone, then Bumblebee's scouting team found him on a patrol and brought him in. His place on the Elite Trine has been replaced by Slipstream, so it's now Starscream, Skywarp and Slipstream. Haven't worked out the details but I'll cross that bridge when I get there, but they're pissed about Thundercracker, trust.

Thundercracker works with Windblade and Cosmos as Autobot Air Support.

Before President-elect Donald Trump has even taken office, Meta is again capitulating to false right-wing claims of anti-conservative bias and censorship, announcing that it will end fact-checking and remove most content moderation from its platforms.

Both the substance of the changes and the messaging from Meta mirror — and are seemingly a direct appeal to — Trump and MAGA media, who have spent years claiming to be defenders of free expression and victims of censorship.

But Meta’s announcement omits two key facts: Right-leaning Facebook content has consistently outperformed left-leaning and nonaligned content, showing it’s not being censored. And previous gaps in content moderation have caused real-world harm, helping foment the January 6 insurrection, contributing to anti-LGBTQ sentiment, and fueling vaccine hesitancy.

your head rests on your hands as you lean on the counter of traffic's mini pop-up stall, intently looking up at its owner. business is slower now that the evening is setting in, and most inphernals are either home or rushing to get there, so traffic has all the time in the inpherno to focus on his lone customer. and though you don't buy anything, he always appreciates some good company.

you softly sigh, your warm breath forming white puffs of smoke in the cold air. "y'know, i don't get out of here as often as i should.. i'm just too used to crossroads, i think i'd perish anywhere else. like a fish out of water." absentmindedly, you glance to one of the colossal green signs towering over the street leading to one of the factions. those have always felt imposing, like it looked down upon you for your nonalignment. being born in crossroads with no allegiance to any faction made you free, but you mourned your lack of a definite culture.

traffic lazily grins, his relaxed expression void of judgement. "that's alright. think you'd change yo' mind if i tell you how it is in those other places? it might help."

you nod immediately. even if you aren't able to be convinced to pick up traveling, you just like to listen to traffic's voice anyway. and you figure he's probably itching to share his experiences. he's mentioned how little he gets to talk to the other vendors.

he leans back in his chair, placing a foot on the counter and bringing a hand to his chin while he thinks. "i always need to wear at least 6 layers when i'm travelling to blackrock, that weather's no joke, dude. they got loads of sweet tech all over the place, though. almost everything is replaced with technology: busses, menus, think i even saw a robotic ball that sprouted legs and brought itself back after it got thrown," traffic mimics a walking motion with his index and middle finger, "craaaazy cool."

"sounds like it came straight out of a dystopian novel.." a shiver travels up your spine at the mental image you've started to conjure up. a faction run completely by machine, with little organic life... compared to crossroads, which is almost always bustling with inphernals and liveliness, blackrock sounded dead and cold. thinking back on all of the blackrockians you've met before, it makes sense why they act that way.

he laughs, and the gems strung across his horns jingle, as if laughing with him. both sounds float away in the night breeze. "yeah, it kinda does. but the snow is real pretty, maybe i should take you to just see that then blast outta there." your eyes light up at his off-handed suggestion of taking you along.

"sounds like a plan." travelling is better with friends, especially with friends who are experts. and more especially with cute friends who are experts. so maaaaybe you'd be a bit more open about going to blackrock if he's coming with.

he continues on, "then there's playground. dude, those guys are jaaccckkeeddd. i almost got jumped one time by one of the gangs there." his hand reaches behind his head to scratch it, as if he should feel awkward about it.

traffic mentions it casually, like it's an everyday experience he's used to. on the other hand, you straighten up and abruptly lean towards him with a worried face painted on your features. "seriously?? did you get hurt??" in your concern, you don't seem to notice how a faint pink dances over traffic's face at how close you are, yet he doesn't lean back to create distance.

playing it cool, he waves it off, "nah, i offered some of my 'supply' and we all got stoned. they were chill after that." despite his reassurance, you sweat. is that really how he should be defusing situations...?

you sigh in disappointment and it almost tugs traffic's usual smile into a frown, his lips twitching slightly downward before quickly reverting back upward. "i hope you're not doing that every time you get into trouble, that stuff has bad long-term effects." it's probably all stuff he's heard before, but you still nag, like he'd actually listen to you. maybe a part of you hoped it would be different if it came from you.

"i heard you can get brain fog and memory problems from it. if you ever forget me, i'll seriously cry. then i'll put you in the ground after." you hold up a clenched fist for emphasis as you narrow your eyes at him. your threat has no true malice behind it, but you still want him to take it seriously.

traffic playfully quirks a brow. "aw, now you're makin' me feel bad." he shifts in his seat and crosses his arms, but not defiantly. "alright, i'll lay off for a while. just for you." then, he has the audacity to point finger guns at you and shoot a wink your way. you simply roll your eyes and groan at his corniness, which earns you a wheezy laugh from him.

after he comes down from his little laughing fit, he resumes his stories. "you've probably never been to a thieves' den festival, eh? the fireworks are a sight, lots of colors and really sweet designs. lots of demons set up a picnic on one of the cliffs and watch with friends and family. we should go together sometime."

"you asking me out?" you tease, naively hoping to catch a glimpse of a flustered traffic.

"yup." your hopes are crushed with his blunt response, and instead, it's you who gets a little embarrassed. out of the kindness of his heart, traffic refrains from laughing, if only for your sake. "though, there's lots of pickpockets there, especially 'round festival time. we'll have to stick kinda close together, that coo'?" he talks like it's already been settled that you're going. but considering your track record of being unable to say no to him, it's a reasonable assumption.

you huff, "oh trust me, i wouldn't dare stray too far from you in a place i know nothing about. i'm gonna cling onto you for dear life."

traffic snorts, finding amusement in the thought of you anxiously holding onto him like the introvert friend at a party. "i wouldn't mind that." because of course he wouldn't. he probably wouldn't even mind it if you climbed him and rode on his shoulders the entire time you guys were there.

you mutter a 'good' under your breath, and he moves on, "finally, there's lost temple. its golden desert goes for miiiiiles. 's great to look at but not to hike through... i'm still shaking the sand out of my shoes weeeeks after." he chuckles, a husky noise. "the jewelry is real gorgeous, though. super detailed craftsmanship and stuff, dude."

"ooh, you wanna bring back any for me?" when you ask, you mean it rhetorically, as silly banter. like you're half-expecting traffic to say 'nah', even if you know it's not in his nature.

but there's an earnest look in traffic's eyes when he asks, "don't need to if we're going together, right?" and he holds a hand out, like he's inviting you to go now, even though the both of you know fully well you're going nowhere when it's so dark out.

for a moment, you simply look at his hand, as if you have no clue what to do with it. "you're really bent on that, huh? you don't even have the courtesy to be discreet about it.."

but it only delays the inevitable of your hand joining his, slotting almost perfectly on top. he feels rough, but enticingly warm. it doesn't help when his fingers gingerly move to enclose around yours, ensnaring them in a trap of tenderness.

"my bad, i'm just excited to have a travel buddy, 's all."

I fell down another biological fantasy rabbit hole and realized another reason why a Drow living on the surface might need to avoid sun exposure outside of just their eyes.

Given that they’re a subterranean species with no natural exposure to UV light it’s extremely likely they have a very good natural ability to absorb vitamin d from their environment. This would also be a good reason for them to have diets that include insects which typically absorb this vitamin from eating soil.

Upon going to the surface however they’d be absorbing it easily from more sources than they’re used to, especially if they continue to eat mushrooms which will also gain vitamin d from sun exposure.

So…add in the sun which they have no natural protection from…and they’d be highly susceptible to sun sickness (which is where the body literally has an allergic reaction to UV light) but also vitamin d toxicity.

More nonalignment related reasons to keep your surface Drow covered up during the day.

What are your opinions on the Justice League International? They were a controversial time for the League for sure, a lot of news outlets around here, red state, you understand, called them a 'joke' and 'an embarrassment on the good name of the League,' but they were heroes, if you ask me.

Any red state dipshit who wanted to say that about the JLI would have to then meet me in the parking lot after I smacked my work gloves across his face.

The "Justice League Detroit" (A name I put in quotes because it IS meant to be pejorative in its original context, though the surviving members of that team wear it with pride ) had disbanded after a violent clash with Anthony Ivo left several of its members dead around the same time that G Gordon Godfrey was first able to whip up a popular discontent around superheroes.

This, of course, lead to the famous "Battle of the Lincoln Memorial" where a group of heroes defeated Godfrey and stymied the plans of his ultimate master, Darkseid. Bringing together a new team with the realization the world always needed a Justice League.

The team would handle various crises until the came into the interest of billionaire philanthropist Maxwell Lord who approached them with an idea: Seek official UN sanction, granting greater resources in exchange for government oversight. This period is when the most iconic lineup joined the team more or less, including the American mandated Captain Atom, his Russian counterpart Rocket Red with personable duo Blue Beetle and Booster Gold.

The First thing that caused an international backlash was the WAY the UN sanction was secured, namely that it was a TRANSFER of the Global Guardians' sanction to the League which was WIDELY unpopular in the majority of the world, especially among the Nonaligned Nations. The Global Guardians were and are deeply respected in the areas where they are active and cutting them out in order to replace them with a line up of the Justice League was seen by many smaller nations as America muscling in on the international stage.

This international outcry was somewhat quieted by the addition of popular Brazilian and Norwegian heroines Fire and Ice to the group and the mandated acceptance of Russia's Rocket Red. Though concerns remained that its claim to an international organization was hollow due to its majority American membership in contrast to the truly global commitment of the Global Guardians, worries I sympathize and agree with to a degree.

The OTHER "problem" many had with the team was with its general bearing and membership. The League was at that time, and still often is, thought of in terms of "The Seven", its most famous and prominent members with other heroes playing a peripheral role in the eyes of the public. With Batman very swiftly bowing out once media attention glued itself to the team, the only member of that chosen few that remained was the Martian Manhunter who is often disregarded by a certain...kind of observer. This lead to a perception that the JLI wasn't the "real" Justice League despite the total confidence placed in the JLI by personages like Superman or Wonder Woman.

It also got itself involved in rather less serious matters and conducted itself in a sometimes less than proud manner, mostly due to the public debacles that Blue Beetle and Booster Gold became wrapped up in. But I've already made a post about my thoughts on both men and why I think both are deserving of respect.

My evidence is as it shall ever be.

If you are slightly older than me you probably clearly remember when an alien alliance lead by a race calling themselves THE DOMINATORS tried to conquer the Earth via military force of arms. Which team was at the forefront of the counter attack that saved all our lives? The JLI.

Who pushed back the intergalactic despot Despero to such a degree that he STILL thinks that these are Earth's greatest champions? The JLI. I would dare ANYONE who would like to question their legacy to stand in their shoes and still see if their big mouth avails them.

U.S. President Donald Trump is right to say Russia’s war against Ukraine “never should have started”—but the blame for it lies entirely with Russian President Vladimir Putin, not with Ukraine and its president, Volodymyr Zelensky.

At his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on Tuesday, Trump went on to say: “You have leadership now that’s allowed a war to go on that should have never even happened.” On Wednesday, Trump went further, calling Zelensky a “dictator” who took money from the United States to go to war.

This is not a war that Ukraine sought but is the result of having been invaded by Russia. Ukraine is merely trying to defend itself, rightfully regain territory seized by Russia, and ensure this doesn’t happen again. And the dictator in this war is Putin, who has been in power for two and a half decades, not Zelensky, who was democratically elected president of his country in 2019.

As U.S. and Russian officials conclude their initial talks in Saudi Arabia on the war, it’s important that Americans understand that it is Putin who bears responsibility for the massive loss of life among Ukrainians and Russians. Putin is guilty of war crimes and genocide against the Ukrainian people. Putin is the one who could stop this war at any moment.

Pressure to end the war, in other words, needs to be applied on Russia, not Ukraine.

For decades after the breakup of the Soviet Union, Russia interfered in the internal affairs of Ukraine, despite various agreements recognizing the country’s independence and territorial integrity. But the pivotal moment came in the fall of 2013, when Putin pressured then-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, an openly pro-Russia figure, against signing agreements with the European Union to which he had already previously agreed.

NATO enlargement, it cannot be emphasized enough, wasn’t an issue at all when Putin decided to invade Ukraine the first time in February 2014. (In earlier remarks, Trump said the Russians would not “allow” for Ukraine’s NATO accession.)

In 2010, the first year of Yanukovych’s presidency, Ukraine became a nonaligned state under legislation that ended pursuit of NATO membership as a foreign-policy goal. The issue in 2013 involved the EU and Yanukovych suspending preparations to more closely integrate with it. That sparked what became known as the Revolution of Dignity that saw Yanukovych flee to Russia—he was not overthrown—in February 2014.

Ukrainians by the hundreds of thousands protested against Russian interference and a leader who clearly sided with Moscow. It was the second time in a decade that Ukrainians turned out in massive numbers. The first time, in 2004, was against Yanukovych’s attempt to steal a presidential election.

Watching the revolution unfold undoubtedly unnerved Putin, who couldn’t stomach the idea that Ukrainians could turn out in the streets and effect change. In light of sizable protests in Moscow in 2011 and 2012, Putin worried that Ukrainians might provide a dangerous impetus to Russians to revive their own demonstrations against the Kremlin.

To try to stem the tide, Putin sent “little green men”—the term used to describe his invading force—into Crimea, the peninsula part of Ukraine, and arranged for a rigged referendum to argue that Crimea wanted to become part of Russia. Putin and his pliant parliament illegally annexed Crimea in March 2014.

Feeling emboldened from that takeover, which Ukrainians didn’t resist militarily, Putin then tried his luck in Ukraine’s Donbas region. There, Ukraine did put up a fight, and thousands of Ukrainians were killed as a result of Putin’s initial invasion starting 11 years ago. Ukraine was then forced to sign two cease-fire agreements in Minsk that Russia never had any intention of respecting, ultimately leading to the full-scale invasion in February 2022. This history—and the fact that Putin has never viewed Ukraine as a legitimate, independent state, a view he most clearly articulated in a treatise in July 2021 titled “On the Historical Unity of Russians and Ukrainians”—is vital for understanding the last three years amid the talks in Saudi Arabia.

Following Zelensky’s election victory in 2019 with 73 percent of the vote, he sought to advance NATO membership for Ukraine. As a sovereign, independent state, Ukraine has every right to determine its own foreign policy and orientation. The first Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014 increased support among Ukrainians for joining NATO with its Article 5 collective security guarantee. Zelensky pursued closer ties with the West because the people who elected him president wanted to integrate more with NATO and the EU.

Yet Zelensky met strong resistance from some NATO member states, especially Germany and the United States, and was making little progress. It was widely known that NATO lacked consensus for admitting Ukraine into the alliance when Putin launched his full-scale invasion in 2022. Once again, NATO enlargement wasn’t an issue when Putin decided to attack Ukraine. His intent was always to create a vassal state similar to neighboring Belarus while eradicating Ukrainian identity and extinguishing its statehood.

Contrary to Kremlin propaganda occasionally parroted by Westerners, there are few wars in which responsibility is as clear-cut as this one: Ukraine is the victim of Russia’s unjustified, unprovoked, and barbaric invasion. Putin, therefore, must not be rewarded for what he has done to Ukraine. Nor must Ukraine be excluded from negotiations that involve its fate. Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.

subsets of stellarian for anon! siriusian is based on sirius, a blue star, polarisian is based on polaris, a yellow star, and keplerian is based on kepler's supernova!

like my lunarian and solarian subsets, i wanted the colors of these flags to be adjacent to the stellarian flag and look like if you combined them, they'd made the stellarian flag. the first two flags are 'split' into yellow-green and blue (which don't really combined to the stellarian green but oh well) and the third has darkened, desaturated versions of the stellarian greens to represent unalignment/nonalignment.
