DAYILY REMINDER TO THE TF2 FANDOM
Pyro is a grown ass adult.
Pyro is not cannonly a child.
Pyro is a grown adult. who cannonly ran his own business, who suffers from a mental illnesses, and shouldn't be infantlised just because Pyro acts silly.
Pyro can be in a romantic relationship if you want them to be
Pyro can be aroace and not interested in romance and gender if you want them to be
Pyro can be a elderish Abomination if you want it to be
Pyro can be a cis man if you want him to be
Pyro can be a butch lesbian it you want her to be
Pyro can be in a father child relationship with engineer if you want
Just DONT push your ideologies onto others
I've seen so many posts about peaple getting mad at Texas Toast shippers for 'proshipping'
Pyro and Engineer are not cannonly in a father son relationship. Those two are grown consenting non-related adults!
So if you see Pyro and Engineer as family, that's fine just don't go into every goddam Texas Toast comment section and go "Erm actually they are father n son" because no one like you if you do that. That is why you don't get invited to partys Steve! Because you are the fun cops!
Seriously: Just don't do that bullcrap you weirdos. Not everyone thinks like you so just respect their opinion(unless its proshipping. Then don't respect the proshippers)
Thank you for coming to my tedtalk.

Gosh I love small fandoms where everyone is equally insane and everyone's just making references to the source material.
Like, I can go "y'all I just saw a badger, I sure hope he doesn't become King of England" and everyone will get what I'm talking about while people who aren't in the fandom are confused as shit.
#shoot from the hip#I could insert a neurodivergent joke but not everyone here is neurodivergent so it feels kinda weird#anyways I love insane fandoms!!#personal rant incoming but I've been in fandoms where (for whatever reason) fandom culture stuff is discouraged??#like people hated shipping non-canon ships and people were called cringe for reading a lot of fanfiction#I've since left the fandom but it was still one of the weirdest fandoms I've ever been in#idk if it's the fact that it was on reddit or if the source material just attracted non fandom-y fans

Ok, really not tryna vague or be shady, but I just gotta say: I do not and will never understand why there's so much drama around ships becoming canon or not.
Seriously, why do you care. Is your ship game that weak? Do you need a stamp of approval from other people for what you like and how you creatively express yourself? Because, sorry, but that's technically what that is and you don't need it.
C'mere. Come to auntie. Listen. I multiship like crazy and lots of weird and niche rare pairs too. Whenever any of my ships become canon that's pretty much an accident and a statistical outlier and because I just happened to like what the creators like for once. And then I usually think "oh that's nice" and go on with my madness. No getting smug and using it to put others down either!
I'm telling you this because I simply can't stress enough how much more chill and fun shipping is if you become deeply unbothered by what's canon, what the creators think and what other people approve of. Again, you need nobody's stamp of approval. And if people nag and bully you about what you like then these people suck and they have no right to demand explanations from you.
Make your case not to justify yourself to bullies - they won't be convinced anyway - but to get other people interested. Make your case through your art, your writing, your headcanons, your conversations with other fans. Make your case through passion.
And stop letting others tell you what you can and can't ship. Which goes both ways, just saying.
Ok, that's it, bye
#to be clear this has nothing to do with liking ships that already exist in canon (i do too! sometimes)#this is exclusively about the people who get into an (at that time) non canon ship and then spend years whining and demanding that it be-#-comes canon#ok? ok#rant over#tough love from auntie cílil#(i guess)#again saying this with absolute peace and love#do yourself the favor of not worrying about it that much and not causing drama around it#fandom#shipping#fandom wank

I need the people who look at posts talking about Wyll's treatment in both the actual game and especially the fandom and respond with "but i don't like him and I think he's boring" to know that shutting the fuck up is 100% the better option 100% of the time. Him being the only origin character to not have at last 10 hours of content and the existence of mods that literally whitewash him and his dad - among everything else wrong with how Wyll is treated - are not suddenly okay because you, personally, as an individual, don't find him interesting, and your personal individual feelings about him are irrelevant to the issues surrounding his treatment in the bg3 community at large, so like. Stop barging in with your unwanted, unhelpful opinion

Will mostly be reblogging for a while I think, but I’m gonna be real, 70 percent of my reason for making this blog in the hopes of writing was that I noticed a big chunk of CoD x reader posts on this hellsite have readers with like…concerningly low ages. There’s a lot of reader character minor-coding going on, and it’s weirdling me out (no shade to young writers, I know a lot of the reason is that a majority of CoD fanfic writers are 18-25 here, which, yk, fair that you wanna see self-inserts with similar ages).
But as I said, it gives me the ick, so if/when I end up writing x reader, I wanna go ahead and make it clear that I will not be writing a reader character in a romantic/sexual position BELOW the age of 25 at most. Most of the Call of Duty men are, like, 28 at the youngest, and I’m more inclined to write reader characters with matching ages, especially afab readers.
In other words? I’m gonna write milfs and dilfs. I’m gonna write top!reader. I’m gonna write unhinged women that leave the various men of TF141 screaming crying throwing up. I will NOT be writing virginal, innocent, or overly naive reader characters; I do not do minor-coding. Y’all have been warned.
#cod#call of duty x reader#call of duty#call of duty: modern warfare ii#cod mw2#tf 141 x reader#my posts#unofficial post#rant/#not trying to be salty but I’m super tired of and squicked out by the amount of like….pedo-coding I see in the x reader fics#it’s gross#I do not think these 28+ men would be searching for partners 10 years their junior#and btw to all the young people who might read these tags#if you’re 18 and a 28 year old man is trying to date you. you should not be flattered by that. it’s weird. even more so if he’s 30+#also we just simply need more older!reader content!!!!!#not to mention the amount of non-con I see in this fandom is VERY concerning and disturbing and I mean that with my chest#but that’s a different rant

Seeing fan discussions about Blue Eye Samurai and especially Mizu's identity is so annoying sometimes. So let me just talk about it real quick.
First off, I have to emphasise that different interpretations of the text are always important when discussing fiction. That's how the whole branch of literary studies came to be, and what literary criticism and analysis is all about: people would each have their own interpretation of what the text is saying, each person applying a different lens or theory through which to approach the text (ie. queer theory, feminist theory, reader response theory, postcolonial theory, etc) when analysing it. And while yes, you can just take everything the authors say as gospel, strictly doing so would leave little room for further analysis and subjective interpretation, and both of these are absolutely necessary when having any meaningful discussion about a piece of media.
With that being said, when discussing Blue Eye Samurai, and Mizu's character in particular, I always see people only ever interpret her through a queer lens. Because when discussing themes of identity, yes, a queer reading can definitely apply, and in Mizu's story, queer themes are definitely present. Mizu has to hide her body and do her best to pass in a cisheteronormative society; she presents as a man 99% of the time and is shown to be more comfortable in men's spaces (sword-fighting) than in female spaces (homemaking). Thus, there's nothing wrong with a queer reading at all. Hell, some queer theorists interpret Jo March from Little Women as transmasc and that's totally valid, because like all analyses, they are subjective and argumentative; you have the choice to agree with an interpretation or you can oppose it and form your own.
To that end, I know many are equally adamant that Mizu is strictly a woman, and that's also also a completely valid reading of the text, and aligns with the canon "Word of God", as the creators' intention was to make her a woman. And certainly, feminist themes in the show are undeniably present and greatly colour the narrative, and Episode 4 & 5 are the clearest demonstrations of this: Mizu's protectiveness of Madame Kaji and her girls, Mizu's trauma after killing Kinuyo, her line to Akemi about how little options women have in life, and the way her husband had scorned her for being more capable than him in battle.
I myself personally fall into the camp of Mizu leaning towards womanhood, so i tend to prefer to use she/her pronouns for her, though I don't think she's strictly a cis woman, so I do still interpret her under the non-binary umbrella. But that's besides my point.
My gripe here, and the thing that spurred me to write this post, is that rarely does this fandom even touch upon the more predominant themes of colonialism and postcolonial identities within the story. So it definitely irks me when people say that the show presenting Mizu being cishet is "boring." While it's completely fine to have your opinion and to want queer rep, a statement like that just feels dismissive of the rest of the representation that the show has to offer. And it's frustrating because I know why this is a prevalent sentiment; because fandom culture is usually very white, so of course a majority of the fandom places greater value on a queer narrative (that aligns only with Western ideas of queerness) over a postcolonial, non-Western narrative.
And that relates to how, I feel, people tend to forget, or perhaps just downplay, that the crux of Mizu's internal conflict and her struggle to survive is due to her being mixed-race.
Because while she can blend in rather seamlessly into male society by binding and dressing in men's clothing and lowering her voice and being the best goddamn swordsman there is, she cannot hide her blue eyes. Even with her glasses, you can still see the colour of her eyes from her side profile, and her glasses are constantly thrown off her face in battle. Her blue eyes are the central point to her marginalisation and Otherness within a hegemonic society. It's why everyone calls her ugly or a monster or a demon or deformed; just because she looks different. She is both white and Japanese but accepted in neither societies. Her deepest hatred of herself stems primarily from this hybridised and alienated identity. It's the whole reason why she's so intent on revenge and started learning the way of the sword in the first place; not to fit in better as a man, but to kill the white men who made her this way. These things are intrinsic to her character and to her arc.
Thus, to refuse to engage with these themes and dismiss the importance of how the representation of her racial Otherness speaks to themes of colonialism and racial oppression just feels tone-deaf to the show's message. Because even if Mizu is a cishet woman in canon, that doesn't make her story any less important, because while you as a white queer person living in the West may feel unrepresented, it is still giving a voice to the stories of people of colour, mixed-race folks, and the myriad of marginalised racial/ethnic/cultural groups in non-Western societies.
#blue eye samurai#mizu blue eye samurai#fandom critical#blue eye samurai meta#wank.mp3#shut up haydar#fandom.rtf#this is a bit of rant but the prevalent whiteness of fandom in general just gets on my nerves i'm sorry#giving me flashbacks to a:tla fandom fr cuz it's the same shit! people love to devalue the stories of non-white non-western identities#also to be clear i am a southeast asian living in southeast asia and similar to mizu i am often alienated for having mixed ethnic ancestry#and even for speaking english (bcs my granddad served the fuckin. british colonials. so my fam speaks mostly in english)#cuz where im from it's still extremely hegemonic racist patriarchal misogynistic homophobic like the setting in the show#so like even though the story is set in historical japan and may seem far-removed from the experiences of a US or european audience#those of us outside the west and in the global south still face a lot of the struggles that mizu goes through till this very day#so please dont just dismiss that. it feels incredibly tone-deaf#okay rant over

...Wtf is wtrb youtube?
I don't mean the show itself I mean the fandom. The theories.
I got recommended a video bringing up a continuity error and I was genuinely curious.
You wanna know what the "error" was, tumblr?
"The games and books take place in the 90s! But Trinity (who he doesn't mention by name, just calls her "one of the main characters") has a phone! This must be an error!"
...
*INHALE*
The worst part?
Everyone in the comments is treating this as theory fodder.
INCLUDING "this is actually about Nicky's kid, so it's Nicky Jr." As well as "They aged everyone down two years, so Nicky is 11"
W H A T ? ! N O ? !
A. Nicky Jr??? No??? Stop just- I'm not even justifying that with a rant.
B. Just wrong! They're in Ravenbrooks Middle school. Now you could argue, "but 11 years old is middle school" however, Maritza and Ivan still seem to be younger than Nicky (Enzo, Trinity and Nicky are the same grade and Maritza is still Enzo's younger sister) now, if he is the MINIMUM age/grade for middle school, why is she there? Exactly. Theory debunked.
In general, that video's theory and 90% of the comments can be explained so easily like- guys- it's not difficult. Tiny build literally just decided to bump this series forward in time. Why? Who cares!
Also, to call this an error makes it seem like ONLY Trinity has a phone, but like- the realtor has one, Maritza has one, etc. Also
MARITZA USES GEN Z SLANG GUYS
This is as bad as the people who look at- Nicky's eye colour change and are like- still calling it an animation error? Like guys- animation errors like this don't go on for a whole episode and teasers.
Just- how does the youtube side of this fandom stretch so hard for nothing then shut down the actual theory fodder? I don't understand
Kaydin looked at the comments more than I had the strength to, so they're gonna rant about it too <3
(Live footage of me entering discord dms with Kaydin when this came up [the autism makes it painful to hear people be so wrong about the hyperfixation])
(Live footage of Kaydin reading the comments [this is a transition])
Operating under the assumption that everything is canon to a singular timeline restricts the creativity of the Dynamic Pixels team as well. It's very clear they're very passionate about their franchise, despite its very obvious mechanical problems. It's very story-driven, whether one likes it or not, so timeline shifts aren't a concern of mine because they don't affect the story. Planting a story in a certain period can lead to some interesting plot points due to what is 'canon' to real life (ie., Theodore being a mechanical genius in his prime between (presumably) the 70s and 90s), but just because it's important in other media like the books do NOT mean it's important to the show. The games could have been set in 2145 for all I care and still had its current aesthetic. I would have been a *little* confused, but it would have been obvious in that instance that the time didn't matter. The story did. Hyperfixating on details like the type of phone or slang being out of place in a media you don't actually know the time period of for certain is ignorant at best and misinformative at worst. Because we do have those details included in the show, though, proves that we can assume it's at a point that we have cell phones as well as the term 'sus' being used by 11-13-year-olds. As in, it's taking place in the modern day, based on the details we have.
In fact, Theodore's technological prowess hasn't even been *mentioned* as of Season 1's release, we just know his house if fucking crazy.

Would it be okay to comic dub your identity v comics. They are funny and cute also what are your fave or types of ships you support and like. Do you also ship lucanort
👀
Absolutely! As long as there are credits with link back to my blog ^^ Do send me a link to the video, I'd love to see! :0
As for ships, I'm currently into nortalice, and I have a weak spot for my OC couple, Emmett and Melanie, if that one counts. Most other fandom ships I'm rather indifferent about or they're not really my cup of tea ^^;
#ask#samicupid#and thank you!! ;u;#I'll also say that I haven't been very involved in the ship part of fandoms before#it didn't interest me much and potential drama wasn't the least appealing#But I tend to ship hard once I've become invested in a couple...#alice and norton was a very rare and unexpected occurrence and remains the only exception till this day when it comes to non-canon#an enigma. a blip in the system. a mystery. I cannot fully explain nor comprehend.#just to be clear I don't have a problem with other people shipping or shipping in general#anyways rant over

Something about how Cassandra’s lady in waiting dress represents her being forced to suppress her genuine self and fit into preconceived ideas of femininity as well as class structure and how we’re shown how much more comfortable she is in her more masculine presenting clothing because she’s no longer defined as subservient to royalty (especially rapunzel) or to her role as a woman
And then this contrasted with certain corners of the fandom where she’s presented in that same dress in heterosexual bliss

problems i think a lot of readers (especially young ones) have is taking things at face value, especially if a character is saying it or explaining it - like don't trust them fucks!! and don't trust the narrator either! treat every word like a mystery, a crime scene from the unreliable witness and you're the detective; discover the unwritten, find the innucuous lies and the partial truth, and analyse what isn't spoken.
#ha rants#literature class is important#it is equally important to note what is said and what is not said#and especially who said it compared to who did not#if a character does say something do their actions also follow?#so many people praise certain characters for saying a bunch of good principles but when you analyse their actual actions#you realise its just nonsense#i'm a little mad at n*mj and l*xc okay#and how the fandom eats them up and places a label of righteousness at their feat#when no???????????#n*mj was one of several sect leaders who led the seige okay#and you're telling me he nor the others DIDN'T see how it was like a bunch of non-cultivators#the weak and the old????#yeah#right#okay#for sureeee#(this was edited tags at because i was informed that l*xc was not there and it was l*qr who was there 29.04.24)#(still doesn't mean he didn't passive let it happen and the consequences thereafter)

Wish me luck y'all.
I'm gonna go to the gym for the first time in shorts without leggings under them so my hairy legs are gonna be on full display for about two hours.
Luckily there aren't many people who go to the gym I go to on Sunday, but it's still a little nerve wracking 🫠 I don't like feeling nervous about going out how I feel comfortable, but I gotta start somewhere right?
I already went to pride this way, but this feels so much more different than being surrounded by a bunch of other queer people vs going to a gym where everyone else goes.
