I'm wishing a very Happy Pride Month to all the queer people who:
are disabled
are chronically ill
can't celebrate for health reasons
disability gets in the way of their gender representation
disability got in the way of a relationship
don't have anyone to celebrate with
have homophobic caretakers
Happy Pride Month to all disabled queer people

Not everyone who is a woman is a non-man, and not everyone who is a man is a non-woman. Some people's genders aren't non-anything. Sit on that and nurture it and let it hatch and grow up to be a healthy worldview love and peace on planet earth

Quick reminder that you don't need a solid sexuality! You can just be in love! Or not be in love! Or have a gender! Labels are a choice, not a requirement. All you need to do is be someone you like being! If labels help with that, great! But they are not required. You don't owe it to anyone, so don't feel pressured to choose labels if they aren't your thing!

trans women can be butch without it invalidating their womanhood. trans men can be femme without it invalidating their manhood. if masculine cis women and feminine cis men exist, there will always be masculine trans women and feminine trans men. if being a butch woman doesn't invalidate cis womanhood, it doesn't invalidate trans womanhood. is being a femme man doesn't invalidate cis manhood, it doesn't invalidate trans manhood. trans people are allowed to be gender non conforming, too- this delight isn't reserved just for the cisgendered.

I'm often posting and talking about Mexico and my "mexican point of view" on media and news. This time, however, I feel deeply saddened and disappointed of my country
Yesterday, Jesus Ociel Baena, the first non-binary Mexican magistrate and their partner were found dead in their home in Aguascalientes. Magistrate Jesus Ociel was well known and recognized for their efforts to protect and promot LGBTQIA+ rights in the public sector, specially within the judiciary system.
The details are still unknown, but what it is clear is how Mexico is still a heavily LGBTQIA+-phobic, with media using incorrect pronouns and social media users celebrating the death of a person
Jesus Ociel, we name you and remember your fight for us LGBTQIA+ Mexicans

Happy Thistle Debut Day!
#dungeon meshi#Thistle#Old dungeon meshi fans remember the days when it was ambiguous what gender Thistle was.#Now we know Thistle uses he/him pronouns but in my heart Thistle is still non-binary. Clowngender elf with poor coping skills.#I hope the anime-only watchers know that this is a character to keep an eye on.#Love (in it's many forms) and desire (in it's many forms) is the main course of Dungeon Meshi and THIS silly jester?#My goodness. What a perfect encapsulation of how one can hurt other's so deeply in the name of love.#The actions we take to 'protect' other's is often the route to doing the most harm.#Love is letting go. Sometimes that means control and sometimes that means saying farewell forever to someone.

In fact, here's a small taste, in case anyone is reading this but is still confused or frustrated by odd non-binary genders:
Start by just momentarily accepting that other genders can exist. You don't have to believe this for longer than this explanation, but we'd sure would like you to, but at least humor us here.
Now, if you happen to have a gender that is not male or female, and also not agender, what are you going to call it?
Let's say you do a lot of soul searching, experimentation, and playing around to kind of get the feel for what makes you feel most comfortable, most confident, the most you.
Wouldn't you want to take what you've learned and find a poetic name for it all? Something, a label, that metaphorically describes what you feel, so that someone else can sort of intuitively grasp it?
That's what dragon is for some of us, as a gender.
It's not a species, a kintype, or some sort of metaphysical sense of our beings. Not in this case.
It's a gender that is best described by the word "dragon".
For many humans that have dragon as their gender, who are dragons or dragongender, the gender expressions and gender roles can be described, poetically, as draconic.
We might tend to hoard, for instance. Maybe in a disordered fashion, or maybe we're just careful collectors.
We might tend to like to find a place to inhabit and let people come to us.
We might see the bigots who come after us for being queer as being like shepherd boys and knights trying to prove something to the church.
We might like to wear ostentatious outfits with flowing coats or dresses that feel kind of like wings hanging off our backs, and hats that feel like the kind of head adornments mythical dragons tend to grow. Or we might just like to cover ourselves in shiny symbols of dragonhood, like pendants and whatnot.
We may see ourselves as not fitting into society very well.
We may particularly like receiving gifts.
But, these are all just examples of roles and expressions we associate with being a dragon as a gender. Just like with man or woman, there are none that are actually inherent in it. It's all about what makes the particular human dragon feel most like themself, the strongest, best version of themself.
And, ultimately, it's about feeling like you are being seen properly when someone acknowledges that you are a dragon, in exactly the same way that a woman or a man feels much better when someone sees them as what they are.
Those of us who are dragons know that we are dragons when we hear ourselves called dragons. It's really that simple.
How someone might come about developing as a dragon gendered person is a whole other lecture and mostly speculation when it comes to anyone else besides ourselves. We'll spare you our autobiographies for this post. It really varies from person to person, just like with girls, boys, men, and women.
Remind me to make a longer post about this later, but I think there's an interesting similarity in the way nonbinary (or genderqueer people in general) talk about the nuances of their gender and how people really big into specific music scenes talk about the nuances of the genres they listen to. Like there's the description you give other people in your community, and the "normie" description you give to people who aren't as familiar. And "genre" and "gender" are both constructs in similar ways too. Just my little binary observation tho.
I'll expand more on this later. But anyway, start asking people what genre they are and what gender of music they listen to.
