The timepieces of Eos You may have noticed that Noctis's trendy outfit includes a wristwatch. This highly detailed chronograph features the royal mandala, date dial, a dial with what looks like a map and a another dial with the legend XV Final Fantasy. They even made a real version! Caelum chronograph black. Other characters wear wristwatches too. Weskham has a gold watch with a W on the dial. Camelia's watch has a rectangular dial and a brown leather strap. Monia wears a minimalist timepiece with a white metal band. Dustin wears a classic wristwatch with a metal band. Sania has modern chronograph with a black plastic strap and square shaped lime green face. It also has a compass. And in the present day, Talcott wears a large, modern chronograph with a leather strap. The random NPCs in Lucis seem to prefer wearing cuffs and bangles but some of the the NPCs in Altissia wear watches. The men all seem to wear the same chronograph with leather strap and the women wear a simple wristwatch with narrow leather strap.

I recently saw somebody headcanoning that the reason Lucis Caelum seem to have only one child per generation for some time before Noctis is that they kill any children born after the first one. Like, it's an actual royal decree and all.

Anyway, what to you think about that?

Do I have thoughts on this? Of Course I Do. I think it's very game of thrones. I do like it for the drama and everything but here's my take on why there arent any more branch families.

Personally I prefer to go with the theory that there are only a few Lucis Caelums born because their magic either 1) kills most of them in the womb due to their fragile mortal bodies being unsuited to it 2) die in childhood or their early adult years because of said magic feeding on their lives.

But let me get deeper into the whole 'magic is not compatible with standard human bodies' thing. I think that in the early years of the Kingdom for the first say, ninety generations, things held pretty steady. The royal family was popping out the standard three children, there were fights over the throne, etc.

But then those branch families died off.

But then the royal family stopped producing as many children and began to see more miscarriages and stillbirths. Soon if there was more than a child a generation one of them would survive and the others would die. It was as if something was conserving magical energy by limiting how many Lucis Caelum's there were and how long they were able to live.

Which was exactly what was happening. The time of the Prophecy was nearing, the Chosen King would be born soon. What good would branch families be to him? What good would it be for the Crystal and Bahamut to waste magical energy on those who aren't the Chosen.

"If you wish to change what happened, you need to go further back. Back to my time," The regretful ghost of Somnus Lucis Caelum, who hides in the wilds of the Beyond, away from everyone out of guilt and grief, who Nyx had to hunt down just to get answers from, tells him.

"That far back?" Nyx Ulric, who thought the sacrifice unjust and unnecessary, blinks, startled.

"It started then because of me. Thus to stop it, you must stop me. Once the thought enters my head, you won't be able to."

"You don't mean-?"

"Nyx Ulric, if you land in the time when the Ceremony will take place, you must kill me. I won't stop, I don't realize the wrongness of my actions though I regret them until I see my brother again during the Founder's Day Celebration."

"So if I land months or years before then," Nyx says, eyes sharpening.

"... you may be able to, " Somnus reluctantly admits. It's obvious which version Somnus prefers.

"I'm not going to kill a younger version of you who hasn't done anything. I won't punish a version of you that still has the potential to go done a different path," Nyx retorts. Then adds grudgingly for Somnus's peace of mind, " I will kill you if I land in the Ceremony where you try to kill your brother."

Somnus relaxs and nods. "Thank you."

He gathers the ingredients needed to prepare the spell. "Please. Save him, save my brother."

AU where Nyx Ulric gets sent to Somnus's past. He was supposed to end up in YA Somnus's time but gets knocked off course by the intervention of Noctis and the others arriving. He ends up as a child in Somnus's childhood, during a traumatic time for Somnus. Nyx saves child Somnus but has no idea where Somnus's home is and Somnus is too injured to direct him.

Can he save Somnus and fix everything by being his childhood friend or will Nyx in the end be forced to kill Somnus after all to stop the prophecy?

No but like, genuinely, unironically, I buy into that as an actual headcanon, at least as far as superficial stuff goes for Noct. Is it important in the grand scheme of things? No, he'd date anyone with any color hair if they passed the vibe check. It's more important to Noct that you love him for being him, and not because he's royal. Cliche? Yes. True? Absolutely, yes. He's demiromantic — he doesn't fall easily, but when he does, he falls hard.

For Prompto...I'm gonna tie this in with one of the other questions on the list, but he tends to be physically attracted to femininity or androgyny. Again, not to say he wouldn't date someone who was maybe more typically masculine, but it's bonus points, yanno? To answer this the same way I did for Noct, personality-wise, he needs someone that compliments his own energy, whether that's by matching it or balancing it out. He also finds confidence super attractive. Maybe because it's aspirational.

what is your muse's ideal first date?

For Noct, he'll want to get away from the crowds. Maybe drive you to a nice high vantage point in the Regalia, lay on the hood on a summer night, and gaze at the stars. Or maybe have a picnic on the beach on a weekday when it's not too crowded. The latter might just be an excuse to take his date fishing, but only if they're willing to indulge him and maybe learn a thing or two from him. He'd be just as willing to go and try out something that they enjoy. He just prefers quieter, more intimate settings — crowds tend to put him on edge.

Prompto will go anywhere as long as he can be out and about. He's not a "go to dinner and sit down and talk" kinda guy. Sightseeing! Amusement parks! Anywhere he can sneak cheeky little pictures of his date and compliment how nice they look! Shit, rent out some chocobos and go off to the races! He's gotta go out and do things and try his darndest to make his date smile and laugh! Though, of course, he'd be more than willing to crash in the evening once the adrenaline starts to wear off, and curl up for a cheesy bad movie and laugh about it before taking the lucky person home.

Prompto frowned as he skimmed the front page article. Everyone knew the story of the missing Niflheim prince. Right at the end of the war, as the Emperor was chasing down Besithia for his misdeeds, his youngest son went missing. Sentiment was generally split between believing the poor boy was dead or being hidden away for some future political purpose. Officially, he was listed as missing, and periodically someone would pop up claiming to have found him in order to collect the reward. Prompto felt for the young prince, but he was selfishly glad he would probably never be found. He didn’t want Noctis to have to marry someone he’d never met. He didn’t want Noctis to marry anyone. Anyone not him, the traitorous voice in the back of his head whispered.

Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia Costumes Part 9

The Ally Costume Token Exchange shop just became available in the Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia (DFFOO) mobile game.

This shop contains all the costumes that have been released in the English or Global version of DFFOO.

Normally, you need to pay real money in order to get and be able to equip these costumes. But the game is planning to give players 2 Ally Costume Tokens for free. You can use this Token to exchange for a costume from the shop.

Sadly, the reason why we’re getting these Tokens for free is because DFFOO just announced that it will discontinue or end its service on February 29, 2024.

I talk more about that in another post, but that announcement came as a shock. Really wish that news wasn’t true. Wish the game wasn’t ending at all.

Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia Costumes List

Anyway, I talk more about this in another post but I already picked and got my 1st costume. Ended up choosing the 1st costume of Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII (#ad). Now I need to figure out which costume to pick with my 2nd Ally Costume Token.

Unfortunately, at the moment, I still have no idea which costume to pick. There are a lot of choices, and there are lots of costumes that I’d love to be able to have. I talk more about this in another post, but it’s really too bad that we can’t get them all even with the game ending soon.

So now gonna have to go through all the available costumes then try to decide which one to pick. Hopefully, I’ll be able to make a decision soon. Want to be able to make use of these costumes as much as possible before the game ends.

Anyway, below is a list of all the costumes that are available in the Global or English version of DFFOO.

I like Yuffie's costume way better than her default outfit but don't really use her all that much so this one's out.

Ignis Scientia from Final Fantasy XV

The 1st one looks nice enough but don't really like the look of the 2nd one.

So the 2nd is out. As for the 1st - I think there are other better costumes so this one's out too.

Noctis Lucis Caelum from Final Fantasy XV

Noctis's costume looks nice but I like his default outfit too. Since I don't mind Noctis's default outfit, might as well go for a different costume so this one's out.

Lunafreya Nox Fleuret from Final Fantasy XV

I like Lunafreya's costume but I like her default outfit too. Both look pretty plain and simple when compared to the other available costumes but I like them anyway. So Lunafreya's costume is in for now.

Don't like how Cor looks in his costume, and I think I actually prefer his default outfit so this one's out.
