I was taking photographs from behind the shelves in a gas station when I noticed this stamp on the back of the potion bottle. I thought it kinda looked like a chocobo so I went and had a look at the game files to get a better look. On the elixir texture you can just make out the word chocobo. I wonder why they put the stamp there. I hope the potions aren't made from chocobos! All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.

Dino Ghiranze, reporter by day, jeweller by night. He's not shy about showing off his wares. If you look closely you can see he wears a silver coloured lapel pin on his jacket, a brown leather necklace with a silver coloured tube on it and a brown leather wristband with an ornate fastening. The centre of the wristband looks like it's missing a gemstone so the boys better hurry up and do those side quests, then Dino can finish the job. All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd

I noticed today that the caravan has Michelin tyres. The name is a mirror image in the game but if I flip the image and enhance it then you can clearly read the word "MICHELIN" on the tyre wall. Is this yet another real world product placement or simply coincidental? (Please ignore the pink wheels. I was using my Pride of Lucis Caravan mod)

There are many interesting architectural and decorative styles used in Final Fantasy XV and on a recent visit to Pitioss Ruins I became fascinated with this tile pattern on the inside the giant yellow rotating globe.
The colours and textures remind me of ancient carpets or tapestries but the surface reflects the light of Noctis's flashlight. The symbolism is strong with two masked faces with halos, one light and one dark, mirror images of each other, surrounded by flowers and other patterns. I have no idea what they represent but the pattern is beautiful. All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.

For over a decade the use of leaded fuel in road vehicles has been banned in every country in the world, but Lucis is a little behind the times. When Noctis refuels the Regalia the sign on the pump says, "Contains lead (tetraethyl) and is to be used as motor fuel only. Not for cleaning or any other use. Avoid spilling." I guess on Eos the daemons pose a bigger threat to life than poor air quality. All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.

I love how mods can show us little details we may never normally have seen. I was doing a retexture of Noctis as a young boy when I noticed this skull pattern on the back of his shoes. It's such a cute detail. I want shoes like that! All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.

I found another fascinating detail today. If you look closely at the polished stone in the circlet of the main statue in the royal tomb you can see the whole room reflected it in. All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd

I have to admit when I found this it kind of blew my mind. The clock in the Regalia keeps the right time. Someone took the trouble to programme it so whatever time of day it is for the bros, the clock is correct. It's the little details like this that really make this game special. (Thanks to Rinual's Mod Menu for allowing me to change the time.) Video copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.

There is so much hidden detail in this game but I guess they lost their momentum when it came to this fire extinguishers in Gralea. They distressed the instructions label to make it look old but the text is just random letters spaced to look like words. "Kasheudg is lasnrhi gaise. Kdhsi ddomig etsnn gasny. Tagebudy Ohshi Fltysu is Lxlasterxd oposryt is gsuar tgodso yxsption Sxwd.Rsasingryu ydgri dgo..." or something to that effect.

not sure if you've already done it (Tumblr search function is terrible) but apparently there are fully modelled areas in Altissia either used in cutscenes or pre-release that are just left there, inaccessible but fully intact
Yes, a friend told me about them. IIRC they are accessible during the Leviathan fight. I blogged about it here: https://hiddeneosbymrsflowerpot.tumblr.com/post/681633800610037760/can-you-keep-a-secret-theres-a-secret-room-in and here: https://hiddeneosbymrsflowerpot.tumblr.com/post/681635429826674688/after-visiting-the-secret-room-in-altissia-i

Gladio is often seen with a bottle of root beer in his hand but he never actually drinks it. Why? Because the cap is still on the bottle. All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.

If you venture into the archives you'll find that Prompto has a choice of two different cameras that he can use. His default camera is the Lokton LX-30 but he also has a sleek black model, the Lokton LX-X1R. The archive says it' takes's a camera exclusively for photo fanatics. It takes crisp pictures with a slightly bluish tint. The both cameras appear to be identical apart from the colour and placement of the Lokton logo but the black LX-X1R's lens does not reflect the scene like the LX-30 does. Wish birds When visiting Altissia Noctis takes part in an old Altissian tradition. If you write your wish on a wish bird and throw it into the mouth of the Tidemother statue, your wish will come true. Noctis uses a black ball point pen to write his wish on the bird but what he wrote will remain a mystery as it's too blurry to read. He throws the bird in the air and it glides towards the statue. We don't see it go in the mouth but Noctis exclaims, "Yes!" so I think we can assume he was successful. Looking closely at the statue you can see some wish birds stuck in the metal frame of the statue and others that have landed inside. I hope Noct's wish came true. Edit to add Looking at the game files there are 5 possible wish choices. I don't know what influences which wish is used. Four are unreadable, two appear to be the same wish but written on opposite wings, but one quite clearly says, "Beat Prompto's score on JMV". All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.

Altissia, the Leviathan battle. Special MTs emerge from dropships and flythrough the air on wires to attack the Tidemother. As Noctis makes his way to the altar you can see them whizz past but they are little more than a blur, unless of course you have Ansel. With their fancy uniform and gruesome smiling masks they are a pretty scary sight! All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.

I will always be amazed at the level of detail in this game. Today I was photographing Lunafreya at Galdin Quay (thanks to mods) and I noticed they put a zip on the back of her dress. I don't think you ever get to see it in the game, I mean you barely get to see Lunafreya in the game, but they still did it anyway. All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.

This post is in response to @samsassinparvismagna who wanted to see Ignis with a wristwatch. This is a Steam mod called Accordo Ensemble (Ignis) by Mouse Marple. It is basically Weskham's outfit recoloured in shades of grey and tailored to fit our trusty advisor. It includes Weskham's wristwatch done in silver. I think it rather suits him. Do you ever feel like you're reading the same magazine over and over again? If you're in Lucis that's exactly what you're doing! These images are from the game files and they show that while the magazine covers may be different the content inside is exactly the same. The only exception is Heatwave. I guess their readers would be disappointed by the lore of Lestallum.
