Okay, I think I can finally share this now.

In my version of "Moriah" Chuck orders Jack to kill Castiel with the promise of bringing things back to how they were before all the mess they're in now, Mary included. Jack starts panicking and crying and is clearly being played but he's in no state to rationalize things so he starts blurting out all kinds of stuff and eventually resolves to actually do it. Sam and Dean are forced to watch by Chuck and are totally incapacitated just like us, hypothetical viewers, are made to watch Jack's tragedy as it unfolds.

But Castiel is okay with that and actually plans to do the deed himself in order to avoid at least this one pain in Jack's life so he comes close to Jack and holds his face in one hand while the other is ready for the blade. He needs to tell him one last thing before the end. They're both crying but somehow Cas find the courage to recite a different type of blessing over the children, one that of course doesn't involve God and it goes something like this:

Jack, don't cry. It's okay, it's okay.

I need to tell you something, Jack and I need you to listen carefully, okay? Okay, good.

Being elected as your father has been the greatest joy and honor of my life. Hey, it's okay, shhh, it's okay, listen to me.

It was a joy so great that I got scared, Jack. I'm sorry Jack but I got so scared. I didn't know it then but it was this gnawing fear of losing it all, of losing you, that made me make... many mistakes. It was this fear that prevented me from understanding who you really are, from seeing the truth. So here it is.

Jack, you were, are and always will be such a luminous, beautiful and important presence in this world. Ah, as a matter of fact, in any world. Because you're... you. And you are... amazing.

No, no, no listen to me now, please, shhh, it's okay: You have to know that whatever happens in your life, I will be there for you. No matter what, I will be by your side. If things will go wrong, I'll be there to give you my energy. If things will go right, I'll also be there to give you even more energy.

You must never forget that you're loved, Jack. Oh, look at you: my son...my son... I love you. So much.

Cas, in an instant, is ready with his angel blade but it's in this moment that the Shadow erupts into the world to take Castiel away: no reasoning, no strategic plan, nothing. The moment of happiness is the moment of unconditional love.

Chuck's frantic because this "unconditional love" thing wasn't in his script and yells that it was not supposed to happen this way, that he gave them the possibility to access everything they ever wanted, the price was just one self-loathing, doomed-anyway angel but it still wasn't enough for them, was it?

It's also the moment where Sam, briefly freed from Chuck's powers, gets his lucidity back and decides to pull the trigger on Chuck (and himself). In the background, Jack's screaming and crying so much that the mere force of his screams is enough to resurrect the whole cemetery but Cas is not coming back to him.

Chuck is wounded by Sam (who's also hurting in return) and is forced to flee. Dean is also wounded beyond repair and is like turned to stone and almost can't breathe because he's living, again, one of the worst moments of his life as we go back to a distorted, more messed-up version of s12 finale and to the beginning of Jack's tragic story.

Jack is spiralling and he's out of control and out of himself as he starts opening woundsrifts after rifts through dimensions and worlds looking for Chuck, looking for the Empty, looking for whatever comes first at this point because he's moved by the dangerous, unpredictable and explosive bomb that is revenge spurred by love. Until Billie finds him.

adventures in ficbinding!

I’ve been messing around with bookbinding a little bit lately and I wanted to bind a fic.

(caveats: I am new to bookbinding and am super into using materials I already have at home. I know most fic binders use book cloth, cricut machines for heat transfer vinyl, and make and marble their own paper and all that, but that’s not my jam right now. maybe if I get more into it later.)

I went with On Labor by @agoodsoldier bc I love it and bc it’s a shorter fic. I make prototypes pretty small so I don’t use up a lot of materials on something that might not turn out very well. when the stakes are lower I can relax and focus more on having fun and learning new things than on making something perfect.

this book is 1/4 letter size, which On Labor was the perfect length for.

since this is my first fic bind I didn’t get very fancy with design (also I already spend 40 hours a week on a computer, so I wanted this to be more of a hands on project than a design one).

I used bookbinder js to get the pages into signatures (the little bundles you sew together). here they are all folded up and ready for sewing.

then I sewed them together with coptic stitch using waxed linen thread.

I printed the title onto a piece of card stock for the cover. the spine is fabric I turned into an approximation of book cloth by adding heat and bond using this method.

This plus jpad low key castiel erasure in a recent spn revival statement he did and misha blatantly shading jivorce and the finale cas erasure in an april fools article post it all feels like they’re all testing the waters and trying to see (or prove) what fans would welcome more (destiel vs no destiel) and what I’m getting from all of it is that there might still be an infighting going on it’s so funny and scary to think about, but also I’m living for bedlund just blatantly saying that they buried the destiel subtext he wrote (and probably directed too) like that’s such a power move tbh because then if s16 destiel does NOT happen or even if it does but it’s really watered down and buried THEN there’s absolutely no doubt about WHY it happened he basically just confirmed the reason.

Some tea from Richard Speight, Jr. about filming Cas’s testament scene has surfaced from DLC6. [x]

nothing cut from script to screen but they added things, such as Cas having to paint the sigil on the door and leaving the bloody hand print on Dean’s shoulder [my note: wbk about the additions during filming. There's still the matter of the spanish dub because the latam dubbing team felt a verbal I love you from Dean, made sense. And a few other lingering questions that have not actually been resolved and we may never know, but I'll go along. If Rich is happy with what was filmed and got to screen in the US, I'm glad. I love 15.18 either way. Rich's comments also goes to show how collaborative making tv is and how fluid the process can be.]

Rich said the scene wasn’t intended to be about Dean’s reciprocation, it was to give Cas his moment to speak his truth, to speak his love for Dean, and Cas didn’t expect an answer back, he just wanted to be heard, wanting Dean to know. [my note: makes sense to me, and it’s what I’ve thought about Cas pov. Cas pov not being the same as audience pov and what the story might need next and what Dean’s needs are. But for that scene, Cas feels complete. It also very much means the emotional story from Dean's side is not resolved. Dean wasn't given his chance yet, by creative design, perhaps because the only way they could get this greenlit at all is if it was only Cas who got to speak. We'll see what happens next.]

Rich saying because they did many takes of the scene with Dean’s emotional reactions, there are shots where Dean is crying more, or crying less. Editing put together different angles from different takes. [my note: the irony that naysayers are already trying to weaponize this to shut down the idea that anything got cut when per Rich himself, the facts on the ground are that the full range of Jensen’s acting for Dean’s response got reduced. No shade on Rich. But let's not erase or deny what was going on with Jensen's acting and how Jensen gave 110% and what wound up on screen was about 80% of whatever work Jensen did. Dean wept more than we saw, even before Dean was on the dungeon floor sobbing. Jensen’s performance as it stands is beautiful and powerful and full of emotion. It has taken an inordinate amount of hate and erasure, which is 100% cynical concern trolling to deny Dean’s feelings for Cas. More shots of Dean crying openly wouldn’t stop it, there’s no excuse for those responses. What’s there is loud enough. Only the most willfully cynical gaze could deny the love and anguish Dean showed.]

Rich said the parallel for John and Mary’s confession in TW 1x07 to 15x18 is a “coincidence” yet went on to talk about the trope of confessing love in a life or death situation and cited Leia and Han Solo among others [my note: it was also used again by an ep Rich recently directed in another piece of media I won’t say so I don’t spoil it. Also I’m laughing about how it seems he answered this. Total coincidence!! And spn 15.18 is like TW 1x07 is like Han and Leia and love confessions in dire situations is a common (romantic) trope. Pls, if anybody is taking away from this some kind of shutdown on creative recognition of the Destiel implications of it all, I don’t even want to know, I’ve had my fill of poor comprehension skills, poor critical thinking, and poor media literacy, oh my god]

Rich saying he was glad Cas’s words meant a lot to queer fans and that he feels it was important and a “bold” move that Bobo and Misha fought for. <3

So that's confirmation from director now, to add to writer intention, both actors, and an EP who greenlight Bobo's pitch for Cas’s testament as romantic. That is canon. That is a lock.

Cas's testament started out carefully padded into an “open to interpretation” zone. We have watched it be eased out of it and into the open.

I’m pleased it's openly acknowledged for what it is...and what I knew it was when the ep aired. I did expect it would be eventually, and would take some time. I’m glad it's here now.

Ranting about supernatural because I hate this show so so much (I’m so so obsessed with it to the point where it’s concerning) and I’m on season 6 episode 20 “the man who would be king” and can I just say how incredibly annoying the boys are! Like can you maybe hear cas out maybe! His reasons for doing these things aren’t malicious or demonic. He is fighting a war in heaven which they couldn’t give to shits about and now they are gonna be mad because he was MANIPULATED by crowley (I love the man but still) like can they use their brains for one moment. And I feel this may come off like I hate Sam and dean and I do not in any way they are very complex characters with trauma and trust issues but cas has done everything for them. He was trying to save them. He didn’t know the outcome. Like Sam and dean have never made a mistake before. Because I remember a couple seasons ago where Sam was going crazy gorging on demon blood because he thought he could do good with that power! So why be so hypocritical and get mad at cas in the way they did. And can we just talk about how broken cas looked when they trapped him in the holy fire! Like Sam said to him did you bring me back without a soul on purpose and his eyes god! Like in what world would castiel who saved you both from hell do that purposely! It was already hard enough to save dean it was a group project in a way he didn’t have help with Sam! And cas is also doing all of this because he thinks its what god wants. He is so blinded by his faith again because he got brought back to life. He had the idea that he was brought back for this reason and chuck did absolutely nothing because all he wants is drama and trauma for the collective and not caring about how his kids feel! Castiels faith breaks my heart because no one could understand it. Dean couldn’t and Sam couldn’t. Castiel has been an angel since the beginning it’s not so easy to give up everything you’ve ever known even when you know that it might not be the right thing. Was it easy for dean to see his father the way everyone else saw John. No. So why can’t it be difficult for cas. They truly never give cas a break. And yes I’m a major destiel shipper. But the way dean acts towards cas sometimes makes me so enraged. But this “breakup” dean looked heartbroken. Castiel had lied to him. Him of all people. The man who he had a profound bond with. He just wanted cas to ask for help and cas didn’t because he doesn’t do that. He’s never been not capable before things have never been this difficult for him before. And when you look at what castiel did there was truly nothing wrong with it. He was blinded and manipulated and he didn’t want all of the shit they endured to stop the apocalypse to be for nothing. He didn’t go to dean because he saw dean living a normal life he saw him getting out and he wanted to respect that. How could castiel have known dean wasn’t happy in that life. Castiel isn’t very good with human emotions and his thinking is very black and white while the winchesters have shades of gray thinking. So how is it fair to blame cas for all of it. I’m sorry about this rant i just feel so much about this! Like castiel is my favorite fictional character of all time and I wish I could’ve teleported into the show and been his lawyer because no one would listen to him no one ever does. I love all of them very very much but it would be dumb to think castiel doesn’t deserve better. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk about castiel. It may happen again

Since you have a bunch of people crawling up your butt again about JA and DA, and how you’re not a "body language" expert, I thought I’d share my perception of them, too.

Before I ever came across a single anti blog, I was looking through pictures of J2, Jared and Gen, and Jensen and Danneel on instagram. I was newer to the fandom at the time. I’m no tinhat, but if just one of those pairings was a couple, I would have guessed J2, especially in the earlier years of SPN. The way Jensen looked at Jared was like … the embodiment of heart eyes, just soft and happy to be around him. I think this is part of why AAs and hellers hate Jared, because Jensen used to look at him like he hung the stars. He still calls him brother. They still both show fondness on stage, but I think it’s toned down. Eanwhile, JA throws shade at Misha anytime they share a stage together.

Jared and Gen when interacting are very sweet together. They show each other respect, even when they lightly poke fun at each other. I think they come off a bit awkward in pics sometimes but that could be because the ones we see are usually intended for social media. They also have some pics that look very intimate and where you can see their affection shining through. But it’s their interactions that really show the care they have for each other, and the way they speak of each other when the other isn’t around.

Jensen and Danneel. They have some pics where they look content enough together, older ones. But more and more I started noticing how awkward they looked in pics, how distant and out of sync they often seemed. Yesterday, they both look happier in pics with other people. Nit to pull a heller by bringing family in, but I swear this is true. I even showed my brother who likes SPN and J2 well enough, but isn’t involved in fandom at all, and he immediately said Jensen and Danneel looked like they were not into each other, and at the same time, he though Jared and Gen looked very into each other. Now, I certainly don’t agree with him on everything. He thought Jensen didn’t seem overly annoyed when he yelled "where is Destiel real!.." into the crown at JIB that time, and I disagree. But he saw the lack of chemistry between JA and his wife, and he has no horse in this race.

Anyway, then I saw the AD House tour video and it was nothing but red flags. Danneel is pushy and obnoxious, while Jensen looks tense and embarrassed half the time. They have chemistry like Jensen and Misha, conflicting wrong ends of the magnet repulsion. During the press for The Winchesters, they look actively hostile, and when Danneel tries to touch Jensen he brushes her off. They cut each other off when speaking. At that one con where she kissed him on stage, he looked like he was enduring something unpleasant. At the latest comic con, Danneel kept shoving at Jesnen's arm while he actively ignored her and never touched her once. They are not in sync, and if someone thinks they are … it’s because they WANT to believe it.

Good Omens/Supernatural Crossover

Okay yes it's been done before but I have an idea I haven't seen in a fic yet, nor can I find the posts I saw about it before that put the initial idea in my head, so here we go.

Aziraphale and AJ Crowley as Castiel's parents.

Good Omens universe remains fairly consistent, but we switch out Gabriel's antagonist role for Michael. Also, all of history has lasted as long as it has in Supernatural instead - the ineffable husbands have just been officially a couple for around the 6000 years. Castiel isn't credited with anything important from before 4000 years ago or so; because he didn't yet exist. SPN Michael and his followers subbed in false memories of him for the angels that had to work with him directly. (I don't know if that works in SPN but it would work in GO so fused canon)

Some angels - those who were issued corporations in the beginning (not all were) were given the ability to produce lower level angels early on, but that ability is linked to their true forms and corporations, which are physical manifestations of how they want to appear. By the time Castiel came into existence most angels had lost their corporations, but there were still a few left. Crowley is the one who nested and had their fledgling, but it took a lot out of him. Michael was able to catch him unaware, in a moment of weakness, and was able to kidnap Castiel. I don't think Aziraphale knew what was happening in the moment, or this wouldn't have gone down like this, maybe at all; Crowley might not have even told him, if it happened early enough, in a panic about whether it might scare the angel off or something. However it happened, they managed to get Castiel into the clutches of Heaven, unaware of his own origins. It helps explain what makes him different from the other angels.

(also, for the purposes of this AU, we're fucking with levels of angel. Guardians of the gates of Eden were decently powerful angels, so we're gonna run with that and put Principalities pretty high on the ladder even though they're not in Biblical lore)

Good Omens proceeds more with the vibe of the books, where the ineffable husbands are "married since the Flood" vibes, with extra shades of resentment because they know Heaven has Castiel. But the Archangels don't know about Aziraphale's involvement; Crowley claimed the angel he'd been with was dead, killed after their bond was established. Heaven kept Cas from Aziraphale not because of concern over what Aziraphale would do, but concern that his investment in Earth would draw Cas towards his demonic heritage, which they had previously kept from him. After all, Crowley's a fallen angel; Cas' true form would still be angelic.

Picking up ahead at Supernatural, though! Castiel still drags Dean out of Hell, but in his betrayal of Heaven at some point there ends up being a confrontation with one of the Archangels, who lets it slip that his known parent was a demon. So he ends up with the Winchesters seeking answers about his own origins. Balthazar ends up joining forces with them out of curiosity and is the one who uncovers the information about how old Cas really is, which angels still had corporations at the time, and ultimately, the only possible angel who still has one - Aziraphale.

Balthazar reports to the Winchesters and Company, who have yet to become Team Free Will (I left off at around Season 6 the first time ok), and ends up going to meet with Aziraphale by himself. By this time Aziraphale knows, even if Crowley was slow to tell him, and the moment Castiel's name comes up, he stops Balthazar and calls Crowley, who arrives as fast as the Bentley can carry him, and Balthazar explains what's been going on in Heaven since Aziraphale dropped off the reports.

scribble in some actual plot here but basically Aziraphale and Crowley end up joining up with the boys and Bobby and Balthazar to save the world, and are Cas' parents along the way. Which naturally lends itself to Destiel, as Aziraphale senses the love changing forms, though he isn't gauche enough to outright confront them in front of each other. He does bring it up gently with Cas in private, reminding him that Dean is a mortal, but also that love isn't, and letting him make his own choice. Crowley doesn't really get it, but he knows well the pain of being denied the chance to love who he wants, so the last thing he's going to do is let anything stand in their way.

Somebody with better knowledge of how SPN progressed from Season 6 can fill in the rest, or me when I eventually get there, just flinging this into the void. Hopefully this latches onto somebody else's brain like it has mine.

Everything is connected to everything, here's how

In 1979, the CIA began Operation Cyclone as a response to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, which funded and trained the Mujahideen, who were fighting back against the Soviets. A Saudi Arabian millionaire also helped fund and train the Mujahideen. This man was Osama bin Laden, and he would go on to found Al-Qaeda and perpetrate the 9/11 attacks.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, a man walked into his internship at Cartoon Network when he witnessed the Twin Towers fall. He used music to help deal with the trauma and got to founding a band. The man was Gerard Way and the band was My Chemical Romance.

MCR got popular enough that it grabbed the attention of Mormon housewife Stephanie Meyer, who had a dream about a sparkly vampire, who she named Edward Cullen, thus kicking off the Twilight series.

Meanwhile, E. L. James made a Twilight fanfiction called Master of the Universe, which was adapted into a book trilogy called 50 Shades of Grey, and that eventually got a movie deal starring Dakota Johnson in her breakout role.

Dakota Johnson was confronted on the Ellen Show, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, for not being invited to her 29th birthday party, and Dakota made sure to invite her for her 30th birthday party. However, Ellen never attended the party and instead went to a Dallas Cowboys game with George W. Bush, circling it all back to 9/11. And when Dakota had been invited onto the Ellen Show again, she called Ellen out for not going to her birthday party, and this sparked investigations that revealed the toxic work environment and how Ellen DeGeneres treated her guests and staff. This caused the show to run for a 19th and final season. This is how the CIA is connected to the downfall of Ellen DeGeneres.

There is also the story of how the 2007-08 writer's strike caused Georgia to go blue in 2020, and this may be a wilder ride.

The writer's strike of 2007-08 caused the TV series Supernatural to lose 6 episodes of the back half of its third season, which caused Dean to go to hell due to the show being written into a corner.
