“Hush, hush, I think I hear someone,” Sirius whispers to Moony, climbing off of him and grabbing his shirt from where it was discarded from the floor. Moony follows along, putting his shirt and running his hands through his hair; his attempt at making it seem like it wasn't just grabbed and pulled over and over by a bloke. 

The door opens to the astronomy tower to find a dumbstruck James. His eyes go wide and his hand goes over his mouth, dumbstruck. 

Sirius glances over to Remus, who is blushing furiously and looks like he would rather be anywhere else but here. 

“Prongs, this isn’t what it looks like.” Sirius starts, even though it is exactly what it looks like. 

“Really?” He starts, hand falling down and coming to rest on his hips. “Because it looks to me that you guys were snogging here, in the astronomy tower.” He condescendingly states. 

Sirius curses. “Well, it may be a little bit of what it looks like. We would never do it here, bu-” He stops and curses again. 

Remus stands up, trying to fix the situation that Sirius has undoubtedly made ten times worse. 

“Here’s how this is going to go James, you don’t tell on us, and I don’t tell on you,” he starts with full authority. However, Sirius wonders what Remus could have to tell on about James. James must know, because his eyes go wide for the second time tonight and he shuts his mouth. 

“Or,” he continues, “I cast the fidelius charm on you to keep this secret between the three of us,” he shoots a glance to Sirius, “and I’m pretty sure you don’t want that.” 

James speaks in a wimp voice. “Not really Remus.” 

“Good on you lad.” he holds out his hands to Sirius who takes it and they exit the astronomy tower.

Once back to their dorm, Sirius lays back on their bed and looks up the curtains surrounding their bed. Remus lies next to him, sitting as close to Sirius as he can without being on top of him. 

They sit there in peace for a few moments till Sirius’ curiosity gets the best of him. “What did you mean that you’d ‘tell on’ James if he told on us?” Sirius asks. 

Remus turns over to Sirius and kisses him on the mouth. “Best not worry about it Siri,” and then Remus goes back to kissing him.

p.s. i really hoped i used the prompt word correctly, its a tricky concept to understand the fidelius charm el oh el and i hope i used it right, if not dont come after me thank you

one of the things that continues to strike me on reread is how much the character of Darcy, and Austen through him, finds Mr. Bennet dead. And how much Elizabeth, in growing and changing and discarding her past blindness, has to move past her way of seeing her father and thus of seeing reality, because the two are connected! Darcy’s letter exposes her father’s flaws to Elizabeth in a way she’d never been able to see before. Most especially the way his laziness and neglect of his own gifts have hurt his family and that ultimately he doesn’t. care. Not enough to change. It literally says that she comes home from Hunsford and tries to laugh at her sisters’ and mother’s folly (the way she used to; the way her father has taught her to by example for her whole life) and she can’t anymore! It sticks in her throat. She is grieved by the failures that she sees in him, all the more so because she IS his favorite and she loves him! And the thing about Mr. Bennet is he never changes. The Lydia/wickham situation exposes to him sharply his own conduct and the consequences and he feels it! Because he is neither stupid nor unfeeling. But he, like everyone, has free will. And he chooses not to change when the opportunity presents itself. He even jokes about how quickly his feeling bad will pass and how soon everything will go back to normal, to his laziness and his selfishness. He is set in his ways and he serves as a contrast to Elizabeth’s personal journey because he embodies a version of a person she could have become and was in danger of becoming if her only goal at all times was to laugh at and judge people from the sidelines.

putting my prediction on record now that the coming decade is going to see the rise of viral-marketed fancy at-home water filtration systems, driving and driven by a drastic reduction in the quality of U.S. tap water (given that we are in a 'replacement era' where our current infrastructure is reaching the end of its lifespan--but isn't being replaced). also guessing that by the 2030s access to drinkable tap water will be a mainstream class issue, with low-income & unstably housed people increasingly forced to rely on expensive bottled water when they can't afford the up-front cost of at-home filtration--and with this being portrayed in media as a "moral failing" and short-sighted "choice," rather than a basic failure of our political & economic systems. really hope i'm just being alarmist, but plenty of this already happens in other countries, and the U.S. is in a state of decline, so. here's praying this post ages into irrelevance. timestamped April 2023

I will never, ever be over the way Shepard and Kaidan are so comfortable in each other’s space. They don’t need dramatic declarations of love; the way they are just existing together in these intimate moments shows you just how much they adore each other. They’re literally soulmates 🥺

after the events of star court it’s common for the Party to see steve walking around carrying robin in his arms. but instead of piggybacking like normal people, she’s against his front, chest to chest with her legs and arms clinging tightly so he can still use his arms. and they’ll go around doing normal everyday things like a two-legged three*-armed creature. if robin is eating something this gives her good access to share with steve while he stocks shelves or whatever. the one time a Party member asked why they don’t just piggyback instead the two of them gave the whole group looks like THEY were the weird ones for suggesting it, so that ended that discussion.

and after s4, the whole group is witness to a whole new ridiculous mass of limbs and heads as a certain metalhead decides it’s his job to cling to steve’s back. and steve now visibly starts to struggle under the weight (only a little tho), but always has on the happiest grin the Party has ever seen

Hey, time to overanalyze magic again. It makes sense to me -- follow closely now -- that earthbending would just be the control of rocks. It's all the minerals that come from the ground, and sure, even some artificially created ones as long as they have the same structure. But just rocks. Not dirt.

Why not, you ask? I invite you to consider what dirt actually is. It's lots of things! Some rock dust, yes, but also crumbled plants, and decomposed animals, and a variety of fungus, and bits of poop from creatures both microscopic and large. Basically, it's a mess of all things organic (plus tiny rocks).

You don't want an earthbender for dirt.

You want a necromancer.
