i agree wholeheartedly with the tags in your post about "sexualizing" sleep token. in the sense that, i'm not ace, and ofc i have eyes and am able to find people attractive but. BUT. the thing is i'd rather invite vessel to coffee or dinner and TALK about like. lyrics and his mind and his interests and his creative process than actually "oh i want to sleep with him SO BADLY". like he's hot, yes. a lot of people are hot. but his psyche super fascinating (as is for example that of writers/poets/musicians/creators I like) and i think a lot of the fandom (at least in tumblr) are able to perceive that and you know, physical attraction is just a plus.

and the same goes for the rest of the guys!

I'm so so so so sorry for taking this long to answer. This 1 to 2 days might be the new baseline for my reply speed appearently.. I was debating if i want to talk about the sexulaization topic in more detail or not but at the end i decided not to. Maybe one day, but not now.

We are certainly on a similar mind, but for me it's like.. not even wanting to invite him for a coffee. I'm satified with what is given to us through the art. There is so much in there already.

If he is ever willing to share his process with the public, sure by all means but what more could he add other than like actual specifics on the experiences he pulls from? This started with trauma and working through it, that is abundantly clear. And it shifted and changed because we all shift and change as the years go on. It is all there. Laid out raw and bare for all of us. It is there in the music, the lyrics, the visuals. I'm not sure how much sense this makes or it is just me being weird and delusional -i wouldn't count out the latter as an option- but anyway.

Also just a sidenote, i really really love your art and i have a bunch of it in my drafts soon to be rb-d T-T♥

this is so, so true. i remember feeling the most exhilarated and enchanted when reading those passages. they're simply so refreshing, so youthful, so true to the aesthetic, so indulgent, so raw. i don't think i've ever desired anything more than to be there with them, getting daydrunk and storming francis' ancient family library. the essence of youth is enciphered in those pages, that text. it's one of the concrete reasons i fell in love with TSH in the first place. any scenario at the country house — bacchanal excluded — is one i would let myself be flayed in order to experience.

in addition, you're undeniably right — it does read like a coming-of-age during those passages, painfully so. it's what makes the book all the more alluring. dark academia — yes, pretentiousness and malice galore, but not without an occasional sprinkle of youthful indulgences and pleasant endeavors that not only make us sympathize with the characters, but be attracted to them.
