Fidaa is very dear to me. I saw the video she took of the bombs. We cannot imagine the horrible nights she suffers with her innocent children. We cannot imagine her daily hardships. We cannot possibly fathom the depth of her heartbreak.

YET SHE HAS HOPE. SHE WILL SHARE HER FAVORITE FOODS WITH ME AND WE WILL WALK THROUGH BEAUTIFUL GARDENS TOGETHER. THIS IS A REALM I *CAN* IMAGINE. BECAUSE IT IS MY HOME. DARLING SILA SHALL HAVE DOGGIE FRIENDS TO PLAY WITH AND LEARN TO SWIM AND THE TINIEST MAN HAMMOUD WILL BE A BIG HANDSOME AND HAPPY GUARD OF THE INNOCENT. PERFECT STRENGTH AND GENTLENESS AND HIS MOMMIE'S WISDOM.

Our dear friend el-shab-hussein has told us to be helpful and adopt a family to assist their fundraising. I have made some of the dearest friends I have ever had, some I am honored to even THINK of as my family. That I should be so lucky makes me ashamed sometimes. And truly, I wonder if I'm not partly compelled to share all my good fortune as quickly as possible to defy this feeling. Feeling undeserving or greedy or selfish or wasteful. Or god forbid, feeling guilt that can never be lessened.

fidaa is a 29 year old woman from gaza with two very young children, muhammed and sila, one of whom was born during the war. her home was destroyed and she’s been displaced many times, and is currently separated from the rest of her family- her husband, her many siblings, and her parents. i can only imagine how nerve-wracking this is.

she’s doing her best to take care of her children by herself, despite facing hunger, thirst, widespread disease, and the threat of death. the other day, there was intense bombing near her and another family close to her was killed. life in gaza right now is hell and she told me they feel like they are just waiting for their turn to die.

fidaa and i talk often, and i feel lucky to know her. she’s an incredibly strong person, she travels long distances to find limited supplies for her kids and helps her siblings raise money even though shes separated from them.

but she needs help. the situation in gaza is so bad right now, the idf is preventing aid from entering and the food, water, and medicine available are extremely expensive. please share and donate to help her and her children survive and eventually leave gaza

Last week, FEMA announced a nearly $9 billion shortfall for Hurricane Helene recovery efforts. On the same day, Israel announced it was receiving $8.7 billion in military funding from the United States. Since then, Hurricane Helene has devastated communities across six states as flooding stretches for over 600 miles.

The storm’s devastation and lack of government funding for local infrastructure and response has left over 100 people reported dead with hundreds more unaccounted for. Millions of Americans are stranded without water, food, electricity, or gas.

Every dollar the US government spends on genocide in Palestine cannot be used to protect our own communities. The US cannot continue to provide billions of dollars in weapons for Israel’s war crimes in Gaza and Lebanon while Americans suffer from lack of investment here.

We understand this catastrophe within the context of the Israeli government’s genocide and ongoing dispossession of people across the Middle East. We cannot mourn the loss of precious people and places in this country and turn away from the same devastation our tax dollars fund in Palestine and Lebanon.

We cannot separate the climate crisis we’re witnessing at home from the immense damage to the earth the US and Israeli militaries have caused for decades. Israeli colonialism is responsible for the destruction of Palestine’s natural ecological systems and a major contributor to climate change. The US military is the biggest contributor to global climate catastrophe.

Palestinian liberation includes ending the climate crisis and protecting all people — from the US to Palestine. We will not waver in our demand for our government to STOP ARMING ISRAEL and end the preventable deaths of so many across Palestine, Lebanon, and the United States.

The Spanish far-left is stepping up its pressure on Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez for Madrid to suspend all arms deals with Israel that are currently in force and urgently implement a ‘full arms embargo’ on Tel Aviv. Since the start of Israel's military offensive following the Hamas terrorist attacks of 7 October 2023, voices within the Spanish far-left have grown louder, denouncing what they describe as the ‘genocide’ of the Palestinian people and demanding that Spain sever diplomatic and trade relations with Israel. “Our obligation (in the government) is to step up our efforts and do everything in our power to stop the ongoing genocide that is taking place in Gaza”, sources at the Ministry of Social Rights said on Wednesday. The Minister of Social Rights, Pablo Bustinduy, has this week sent a letter to the Spanish Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles (PSOE/S&D), requesting that Spain suspend any ongoing arms sales contracts with Israeli companies. Robles on Wednesday stressed that since the Hamas attacks last year, which left 1,200 Israelis dead, Spain has only contracted with the Israeli military industry for the repair of parts, El País reported.

A petition was filed, Tuesday, in federal court in Canada to force Foreign Affairs Minister, Melanie Joly, to stop issuing export permits for military goods and technology sales to Israel, Anadolu Agency reports. The suit, launched by Palestinian-Canadians and the Al-Haq Palestinian non-governmental organisation and the Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights (CLAIHR), argues the sale violates Canadian and international law. Canada’s Export and Import Permits Act states that the Foreign Minister must deny military goods and technology exports and permit applications if there is a substantial risk that would undermine peace and security. “We are seeking to hold Canada to its own standards and to its international legal obligations,” CLAIHR board member, Henry Off, told Al Jazeera in a telephone interview.

U.S. & Canada ARM GENOCIDAL TERRORISTS

The US has announced that part of $20 billion worth of munitions to Israel will be manufactured by a Quebec-based company.

It includes more than $60 million worth of high explosive mortar cartridges and related equipment. In March 2024, Canada froze arms exports to Israel over concerns about violating domestic and human rights.

Israel has always been a top receiver of Canadian arms exports, with over $15 million worth of military exports to Israel in 2022, according to Radio Canada, following $19 million in shipments in 2021.

Canadian lawyers and rights advocates criticised the move as it falls short of ensuring that weapons produced in Canada are not used in suspected human rights violations abroad, as mandated by law.
