Backstory 11

Kai and Nya

Kai(born 73 AAG, Fire bender) and Nya (born 76 AAG, water bender) were raised on the island of Ninjago. From a young age, they was taught to be a blacksmith by both his parents. Their early childhood was relatively peaceful, Kai was taught fire bending by his father, and his mom took him ice dodging, while Nya Was trained in water bending by her mother and taught how to do her hair in a fire nation top knot by her father.

Their parents intentionally raise them to respect and honor both of their cultural roots. Teaching them that they were both fire nation and water tribe, no matter what bending they possessed.

And so all was well throughout the early childhood. Until a pirate raid went much farther inland than before. The small village where they lived was hit, and Ray and Maya were taken. They were able to hide Kai and Nya. Kai was 14, and Nay was 11.

Two years later, Master Wu passed through their village. He had known Ray and Maya back when they worked with the refuge program and wanted to see them again.

See that they were gone and presumed dead, Wu decided to look after Kai and Nya. They were suspicious of him at first, but he provided that he knew their parents and moved with him to his monastery. They both started training in spinjitsu and their respective elements.

In the ninjago avatar au (if your still doing it) will Lloyd and Akita ever interact or maybe have some small forbidden friendship? Since they are the only current characters who are of that age.

Dont need to be a ship if you dont want too i just LOVE their dynamic

Also is kataru in the story? Will he apear someday?

And just a suggestion; Akita befriending a spirit who resembles her form in cannon as a little reference to her being a formling without it clashing with the atla verse set up.

Ok, been awhile since I've thought much about that au, but I do know that Lloyd and Akita were going to become friends.

And there was going to be something to do with Spirits and Akita's family and Kataru, but for the life of me I can't remember any specifics. I think Vex might have fucked around and found out and got stuck taking care of Akita?

Ninjago Avatar the Last Airbender AU

There has been a lack of these in the Ninjago fandom and it personally offends me.

Background to get out of the way: these are characters existing in the Avatar universe. The gaang have their adventure which affects the ninja leading them to meeting each other.

Cole

Cole lives in the Fire Nation as a noble.

Jk, he lives in the Earth Kingdom. He lives in Gaoling and attends Master Yu's Earthbending Academy. He has a lot of pressure to succeed and do well because his nonbending father Lou shows him off. Lou does a lot of community theatre, but doesn't have much time for Cole. Cole and his father were heartbroken after his mother's death. She died helping a small village fight the Fire Nation. They're distant and barely know each other.

He wishes to have more value and help people with his Earthbending just like his mother. He never expresses this to Lou, knowing his father wouldn't let him. He seeks out ways to help people and runs into a man who goes by Wu. He's young, in his early 30s. He offers Cole to join the White Lotus. (but cole doesn't know it's the white lotus)

Cole talks with his father, trying to bond with him. They break out into an argument, causing Cole to run away with Wu. They're searching for more White Lotus members, now that news of the Avatar returning has given them hope.

Jay

He lives with his parents in a more industrial part of the Fire Nation. His parents work in a factory, so Jay is often left alone at home playing by himself. He likes to tinker with gadgets and taught himself how to bend lightning. (Jay has some weird thing where he can't do normal fire, but can do lightning. It's because he's always wanted to power things, so his brain is just wired that way. In his teen years he tries to undo it, but can't) He's insecure as he can't bend fire like a normal person is viewed as a freak. He's talkative and a little cuckoo as he talks to doodles he made and pretends they're friends.

Overall, he has a nice life with his parents, completely clueless of being adopted.

It all changes when he meets this weird dude from the colonies and this other buff dude from the colonies. One of the dudes, the one with the mustache is really obsessed with paisho. They keep helping him out and being friends. He learns their names are Kenji and the buff one is Gen.

One night there's this serious mood in the air. Jay decides to play paisho and he learns the pairs real names. He soon learns about the Order of the White Lotus. Wu does some really dubious thing, offering Jay a chance to learn engineering at a higher level. He doesn't tell Jay the cause and purpose of the White Lotus yet.

When Ed and Edna hear about the offer they're ecstatic. They hope Jay will get rich and help them. They let Wu steal Jay away.

Zane

Zane lives in the North Pole. He is chill. His father died recently, so he's depressed, but he's doing alright. He desires to help people beyond the North Pole. He's skilled in bending water, as he trained under Pakku for years. Pakku can tell Zane has a desire to help people. Zane doesn't vibe with other people from his own Nation and is very awkward around them. Pakku decides to send Zane to Wu, knowing he'll be better there.

Zane is sad about leaving his home. He finds Cole and Jay very nice, but weird. He has no idea why they can't talk about missions in front of Jay. Zane finds the Earth Kingdom odd, and hopes Wu comes back from his trip to the Fire Nation.

Kai & Nya

Kai is a blacksmith who lives in the countryside of the Fire Nation with his sister. They don't know why their mother is and Ray is serving in the war. Kai is a firebender, while Nya is a waterbender. They live in the Fire Nation as their appearance is more Fire Nation than Water Tribe. Kai is no master of firebending, only knowing tricks to help him with blacksmithing. Nya, is worse off, as she can barely move water without getting angry and giving up.

Kai is angry and wants the war to end, so his father may come home. He feels comfortable being a recluse in the forge, whereas Nya goes to school. They both work hard at hiding their Water Tribe heritage. It's Kai who goes greater lengths than Nya.

Kai is focused on making money so they both can survive. He wants to wait for his father to come back. He spends most of his time in the forge. Nya likes to read about inventions and breakthroughs, but can't work on her craft as she lives in the countryside.

They get visited by a strange man and are annoyed with him for wasting their time. I supposed the they in this case is just Kai. Kai is annoyed at this strange man from the colonies browsing his workshop.

When Nya comes back from school and the man sees her he's intrigued. (As in Wu has a really good hunch)

One night Nya wakes up detecting an intruder. Kai rushes in to fight against the intruder. The intruder is very good, he extinguishes Kai's bending quickly and much better at wielding a weapon than Kai. Nya panics and does a surprise attack with her water on the intruder. Kai uses the distraction and tries to knock him out. The intruder reveals themselves as the man from earlier. He begs them to join the Order of the White Lotus. Wu recognizes they have great potential to be powerful benders. He tells them their mission and what they do. Nya joins because she's sick of hiding her waterbending and wishes to improve. (She ends up getting tutored by Zane) Kai joins out of fear that Wu would spread their true heritage. He doesn't want to get killed. They both go on a boat to the colonies, awaiting to meet with the group.

The meet up

The five all become a group, very unsure of what Wu is planning. Nya is the happiest, as she is being trained by Zane and improving at a very fast speed. Cole is enjoying himself much more than his time at home, but he and Zane agree that they haven't done anything substantial. Kai is the most suspicious of Wu. Wondering why he'd get a group of five together. Why would he do this? What does he want? Kai is snooping when he's not getting training with Wu. Wu is a firebender so he trains under him directly. Jay spends most of his time playing around. (Wu can't lightning bend. Wu knows most in the Fire Nation Royal Family can. He also knows only one other person outside of this, but it's due to other factors)

Cole and Zane join Kai on inspecting their living quarters. They find a bunch of scrolls on the Spirit World. At dinner they bring this to Wu's attention. Jay figures out he's being lied to. (And doesn't care) Nya is pissed. Wu comes clean, saying the Spirit thing is a side project. He wants them alive to fight on the side of the Avatar. He says the Avatar will have an army, but they need ninja. He wants to train them to be ninjas.

I'll make one about Lloyd and his family later. I need sleep.

I've watching Avatar and I was inspired to do a version of Ester as one of Pandora's species, the planet is portrayed in Avatar (2009)

Like other species, Na'vi can deepen their bond. They are very intelligent, they have own clan, culture, music, language, each of them can also have them soul mate like Pandora's whales - Tulkuns

incoming rant abt a possible ninjago atla au u have been warned

the gist of the au and what i have in me head is that lloyd is the next air avatar but for some reason the air nomads are skeptical/afraid of baby lloyd so misako takes lloyd and skidadles far away from the temple. because of this, lloyd grows up as a regular kid with no air benders around to teach him air bending And no knowledge that hes the avatar (and therefore that he can bend the other elements)

fast forward to when hes like 9?? 10? wu finds him, surprise ur actually the avatar its training time something something big spiritual evil that might be related to garm something something then wu Leaves and so the training bit falls onto the ninja. which. none of them is an airbender mind u and lloyd Still doesnt know airbending. so they teach him the other elements and Hope that he somehow learns air by proxy

i have a very small and not rlly thought out idea for what an equivalent of the aging tea could be but this is basically it in terms of bg and going forward its just ur usual avatar and ninja shenanigans

ok. now. i have a couple ideas for why the air nomads could be wary of lloyd. one is that they know garmadon is his dad and garm has been cursed by a Particularly Evil spirit and so they think evil dad equals evil son and they dont rlly wanna deal with that so they r like we must get rid of the child he will reincarnate either way its no biggie which,,, uhh yea lets not

the other one is that the nomads have discovered that lloyd is going to be the first avatar that is a direct decendant of the first ever avatar (the fsm) and so they want to like?? harness his power or smth idk.

(the only problem with these ideas is that it kinda relies ok the air nomads having kind of violent and evil solutions to problems so i stil. dont rlly know 😭)

the point is!! one way or another, misako starts seriously fearing for lloyds life and the fact that he might not ever have a choice over it as his own so she takes the baby and Runs.

[abt the fsm, raine lowkey gave me this idea entirely so shoutout raine hello but i was thinking that theres two of them. like. u have the FSM, the first ever avatar, all plwerful godly being. and then u have the dad, the f in fsm stands for Father, this guy is just wu and garms dad. i dint have much else thought out for him just. yea]

now. if i want to talk abt the possible aging tea equivalent i need to talk abt garm. soo augh idk abt garm but i think rhe gist of it is that hes been possessed/corrupted by a spirit bc of a deal he made or for messing with a spirit when he was researching things. the point is hes known as this being that brings chaos and stuff but then wu and misako reveal to lloyd like, thats ur dad actually, and misakos being researching ways to bring him back and lloyd stumbles on this research and decides (not so smartly) that if one qants their dad back one must do it himself so. he manages to contact the original spirit that garm annoyed

so they talk and the spirits like "well i Would give him back but he kinda made me lose my time and energy on him for like,, 4/5 years so unless u figure out a way to give me rhat time back i aint giving him to u" and lloyd goes bet take does from me no biggie

so then lloyd makes this deal not rlly knowing what hes doing and he goes back to the real world and suddenly he has a brand new dad and also abt two whole heads more in height woops

(this all happens post training arc starting so lloyd already knows the ninja and has been living with them for a while)

OK NINJA TIME

so ive been Rlly debating whether i should do the Usual thing and just stick em in the element rhat they have in the show. OR (and this is the idea im leaning more towards) i go with vibes. obviously the vibes are still informed and consider their element in the show

ok first kai and nya. i want them both to be fire nation buut idk if i should make them both firebenders or make them have their usual elements. i do wanna let nya be a waterbender, However since they do live in the fire nation (most likely in a more rural town far from the mainland) nya would be a waterbender that uses mostly firebending styles and techniques. i just have always found this type of mix and match they do with aang and zuko specifically SOO COOL i love it so im gifting that to nya

cole is an earthbender obvi. i havent rlly thought much abt cole bc i immediately decided he would stay an earthbender and didnt question him further.

NOW HEAR ME OUT HERE. i kinda rlly want to make jay earth kingdom and leave him as a non bender. why??? bc the Vibes man. i want to rlly focus on his engineering and tinkery side. i think he would still be rlly involved with bending and stuff and he tries to find different uses to bending outside of fighting. maybe him and cole are childhood friends and jay is always bugging cole to try some of his projects with coles bending.

and finally zane!! hes water tribe but i struggled to settle him on either tribe. i think the northern tribe could fit him in the future but i do think he's originally from the south. i feel like the south gives him more potential to be the specific brand of Peculiar that zane was in the beginning of the sbow. and since this is situated pre war, the southern water tribe would be bigger and better off than how we see them in atla so it would be cool to explore that

so im picturing him as the weird son of the local medic and whatever else dr julien gets up to . so maybe dr julien is teaching zane stuff and he gets Rlly Rlly good so they send him to a bigger settlement with better teachers and eventually he decides to leave the south pole to continue learning and stuff.

i do have ideas abt how wu gathers them together but ive ranted way too much so i will make another post on that if i remember to

Dragons Rising takes the ‘New Generation’ to a new type of storyline.

Because usually when we cut to ‘Next Generation’ it’s always set in a future when the characters from the last generation are either dead, old or have skipped from beyond their prime and full potential.

Meanwhile Dragon’s Rising doesn’t do that, it doesn’t skip to an era where, the Ninja are dead, however they created this new ass government or with the Ninja Dead a dystopian system happens in the world and some main characters find the only remaining Ninja alive or the main characters just find old tape recordings of the Ninja and try to fulfill their legacy.

No. It took LLOYD finding Arin and Sora instead of the other way around and I think that’s a nice touch into the next generation, we can see the Ninja slowly getting into their Prime Years and see how the Next Generation is handled with the Ninjas still there.

Backstory 15

Voyage of Destiny's Bounty Part 1

1- The letter

In 90 AAG, Wu got a letter from Misako telling him about Lloyd. She thinks he might be an air bender and is worried about his safety. In her letter, she asks Wu to go get Lloyd and bring him to Ninjago, where he would be safe from the fire nation.

Wu decided to go and take Kai with him, but leves Nya with the Ninjago royal family as she is too young. They get a ship called the Destinie's Bounty and set sale for the colonies where Lloyd lives.

2 - Kiyoshi Island

Their first stop after leaving Ninjago is Kiyoshi Island. They need supplies and directions. They stop in a village called Lek and meet with the local chief Lyet and Leader Kyoshi warriors Pixel.

Pixel is intrigued by this new fighting style and wants to learn it. Unfortunately, her duties as the leader of her village's kyoshi warriors keep her from leaving her island with her Destiny's Bounty.

3 - Junkyard

On their way to the colonies, they were attacked by the Soto pirate. They were able to get way, but the Destiny Bounty was damaged, and they needed to make it to a port to repair the ship.

They stopped in the port town of Xiǎo Zhēn in the South Isla colony for repairs. Wu hired Ed and Eda to do them and they brought Jay with them.

Jay and Kai end up hanging out, and kai tells him about his family, bending, and Spinjitsu, and Jay is fascinated by it all. He talks to Wu about spinjitsu and asks him to teach him. Wu happy agrees and invites him on their voyage.

4- Omashu

Their next stop was Omashu, where Wu met with King Bumei, as his a member of the White Lotus. Bumei agrees to help them and give them supplies. While Wu is talking with Bumei, Kai and Jay go to explore the city.

While out, they get separated, and Jay runs into Cole, who is secretly practicing his earth bending. Jay scared the crap out of Cole, and they ended up in the tunnels underneath the city.

Kai freaks out when he can't find Jay and go's to Wu. Bumei officers help in finding the 2 lost boys.

Meanwhile, Cole and Jay are trying to find their way out of the tunnels and run into a Badger mole. Cole is able to connect to/ Impress the badger mole, and it leads them to the King Bumei, who is waiting at one of the tunnel openings with Wu and Kai.

Bumei kenw and was friends with the Badger mole and somehow knew were to pick up the boys. He was impressed with coal's ability to connect with the earth and recommended him to Wu for further study.

Wu accepted and offered Cole a place on the destiny's bounty. Cole, wanting to get away from his father, agreed.

5- School

They finally make it to Lloyd's school in the New Azulon colony, but they are too late. Garmadan got word of his sons a weakening power and swooped in before Wu could get there.

The teacher who originally told Misako about Lloyd's power tells them about Garmadon and that he is planning to train Lloyd to be a master assassin and to be loyal to himself and the fire nation.

Garmadon in the meantimehas taken Lloyd to his personal base on an island in the middle of nowhere. The base is run by Fire Nation's staff, but it is outside of the fire nation Territory, so we can avoid all the bureaucracy of the colony governors.

6 - Snake

To find Garmadon's base, Wu tracks down one of Garmadon's informants, Pythor, to an island of the north coast of the earth kingdom.

When they get to the island, they meet Zane, who is helping the local resistance against Pythor and his men. With the help of the locals and Zane, they defeat Pythor and capture him.

Because Pythor is a snake ( not literally in this case), He tells them where Garmadon is and how to get there in return for his life and his freedom. They agree but leave him locked up on the island, with Echo in charge of the island, promising to free him if they return.

They finally know where to find Garmadon and Lloyd and begin the final leg of their voyage with a full crew.

Avatar TLA AU

Bare with me on this one, because I just had a Realisation:

Reverse TLA where a group of benders of the different elements (aang, katara, toph, and some random firebender. Along with Katara's brother Sokka) come together to fight the fire nation.

After ~a season they hear about the legend of the Avatar: the greatest bender of all time. They're convinced that on of Them has to be the Avatar, and they spend the next few episode fighting over which of them it is, with no result.

Turns out the Avatar is actually the son of the fire lord (Zuko). They all hate him, part because he's the son of the fire lord and because they all wanted to be the prophesied Avatar. Turns out, despite being the son of the firelord, the avatar is a chill af guy and they end up being besties and taking down the firelord, his dad, together.
