Sometimes I remember that nico lost his mother and then was put in a hotel for seventy years and finally get let out and then found out that his dad was a Greek god and he was so excited but then his sister decided to join the hunters of Artemis and he’s happy for her but also scared once he finds out that she’s going on a quest so he makes the cute guy who saved him earlier promise to keep her safe only for him to return after the quest and tell him that his sister had died and then everyone hated him because of who his father was and he realized he was in love with the guy who he blames for his sisters death and hates himself for it and then he goes on a side quest with Percy and brings him to his fathers palace under the impression that hades just wanted to talk with Percy because he said that it he brought Percy to him then he would tell him more about his family but then hades tricks the both of them and imprisons Percy and Nico goes to save him but Percy doesn’t trust him anymore and then he single handedly brought three gods to help with the battle of manhattan only to still not feel welcomed and then he learned that there might be a way to bring back his dead sister only to find out that she had chosen rebirth and then found his other sister and brought her back from the fields of asphodel and then found another camp and started to actually heal and then Percy shows up with no memory and he lies to him and promptly dips and ends up completely alone in Tartarus only to get kidnapped by two giants and get stuffed in a jar with only a limited supply of pomegranates and then when the seven finally come to save him he finds out that most of them didn’t even want to save him and thought it would just be better to leave him in the jar to die and then he had to watch the guy who he’s not rlly in love with anymore fall into Tartarus but not before making him promise to lead a group of people that hate him to the house of hades and he agrees to it and then everyone except for his sister stay away from him because they think he’s creepy and weird until he has to go on a side quest with Jason to retrieve something from Cupid and he is forced to admit that he was gay and in love with Percy to a guy he barely knows let alone trusts and then realizes that no one would hate him because of that and he makes his first actual friend and then he volunteers himself to go on a deadly quest to take a ginormous statue back to camp via shadow travel and he nearly dies from it but he also developed a strong friendship with Reyna along the way and after the war he finally allows himself to be loved by his friends and tells Percy how he used to feel about him and meets Will and is finally happy for the first time in a while and then his boyfriends dad shows up as a mortal but he doesn’t think much of it until one day he feels the same feeling he felt when Bianca died and realized that Jason had died and goes into a deep depression and then Reyna also joined the hunters and everything just sucks again but at least he has Will and people at camp don’t really hate him anymore but then he starts getting plagued with nightmares and it gets so bad to the point where he finally gives in and goes down into Tartarus again but with Will this time and is forced to face his demons but ends up embracing them and freeing his friend and everything is now kind of okay again and he starts kinda developing a friendship with Piper and he’s actually happy but who knows how long that’s gonna last cause he’s been happy before and look where that got him

“It’s a good thing that father of yours is so protective of you,” Dionysus said, joining the demigod on the beach the next night, looking cautiously out to the lapping waves to gauge his uncle’s mood.
The demigod blinked, eyes bright despite the lack of light.
Dionysus ignored his surprise and studied the demigod carefully, noting the faint hint of gold exuding from his skin.
Ah. Well then.
He could remember noting the same sheen to his own skin millennia ago now. Jackson was on the precipice of something, and only time would tell if it were madness or greatness.

Summary:
"All of you demigods are bred for war, for me," Ares said. "That's just a fact of life." He took another drag of his cigar, then snuffed it out on the bricks near Jackson's ear. "You're chess pieces to move as we want, and nothing more."
Jackson laughed, his voice echoing in the small alleyway in a way no mortals should. "I'm surprised you even know what chess is," he snapped. He grinned, all sharp teeth and eyes that saw far too much. "I thought that was more Athena's area. You're just carnage."
Ares tightened his grip, wanting to see the boy squirm. Jackson reminded him of someone from millennia past, a Hero still loved by the ages. Ares wished he could place who.

“That was a mistake,” Ares says, walking beside him. “You’re not one to abandon your post. This is going to eat at you.”
Just like every other time he’s spoken with Ares, Percy is vibrating with anger. How dare Ares tell him what’s best for him. At his sides, he tightens his hands into fists tight enough he’s sure he’s drawn blood.
“What’s it to you?” he spits out.
“You’ve got war in your heart, boy,” Ares says. Percy can’t see his eyes because of his sunglasses, but he’s sure they’re glowing red like charcoal. “I can taste it.”

Summary:
“Get up,” Dionysus ordered.
Percy ignored him. As they always did, memories of Tartarus crept back, a hold on him that never quite left. Falling, falling, falling. Always falling, never quite clawing his way back to the surface.
Dionysus hauled him to his feet, hands a burning brand.
Percy panted and met his eyes, barely able to stand under the force of the god's divinity. He wondered if this was what people meant when they talked about the myths, why people loved and worshipped the gods and feared them in turn. Percy had never seen them as people to revere and love. They were cruel; petty. They had done nothing but treat Percy like a pawn in their schemes, then thrown him to the proverbial wolves once they’d been done with him.
But he thought he was beginning to understand. He felt tiny before Dionysus, insignificant. It was more of a comfort than Percy wanted to admit.
“What’s happening to me?”

Percy had left something of himself down in Tartarus, and he didn’t think he’d ever get it back. He wasn’t sure he wanted to.

Summary:
"You should have ascended years ago," Zeus said without preamble, looking down at Percy. The other Olympians, even his father, remained silent, watching the proceedings with uncharacteristic solemnity.
"I said no years ago," Percy snapped, rage making his voice tremble and hands shake. "I didn't want to be a God then, and I want to even less now. I've seen how horrible eternity is."
"You would defy the fates themselves?" Athena asked softly, leaning forwards with narrowed eyes. She looked more godly than Percy had ever seen her, to the point where it was nearly unbearable to look at her face. Percy did so nevertheless, glaring at the Goddess he'd lost almost all respect for.
"You had children die today," he snapped, desperate to return to Camp. "Annabeth could still die—hasn't she done enough?"

“Find Medusa?” Percy spluttered, trying and failing not to sound indignant. “Nobody wants to find Medusa. You run into Medusa while trying to retrieve your uncle’s stolen lightning bolt and then mail her head to the gods after she keeps talking about how your eyes are like your father’s.”
From behind him, Piper raised a single finger. “When you mail what to whom?”
Percy glanced over his shoulder to give her a shrug. “Don’t worry about it. I was twelve,” he said before turning back to where Gabe was still fighting against the ropes binding his hands together. “Do you have any idea what to do with him?”
Nico leaned over, craning his neck to better peer at the hot sauce that still stained Gabe’s face despite the years of statue-ification. “Um, we could see if your dad wants to turn him into a fish or something?”
Percy grimaced. If Gabe Ugliano was a fish, then he’d be forced to hear the man’s voice in his head for years to come. But also, he could maybe mount him on a wall, so perhaps it wasn’t an entirely terrible idea.

“This… this would qualify as a mental breakdown, right?” Triton asked, frowning over his shoulder to where Percy was still fuming in the corner. And now I can’t leave unless he leaves,” Triton continued. Percy opened his mouth to object that wasn’t what happened at all, but the tyrant only waved a hand to silence him. “He’s seen war or whatever, so if you could maybe just drug him then I’ll throw him into a suitcase and we can be out of here by the Summer Solstice!”
Silence. Finally, the woman cleared her throat and turned to Percy.
“I’m guessing he’s the one you want checked into the mental hospital?” She asked. Triton gasped as Percy punched the air in victory.
“Aha!”

A stern and familiar man looked down at him, concern and apprehension written across his face.
“Hello, Kassandra.”

Or, when Apollo cursed Kassandra before the Trojan War, it didn’t go as planned. Now, millennia later, Apollo and Kassandra are still stuck in an endless cycle of death and rebirth. Video games I think the Seven would like
These are all games that I have played 👍
Percy-> Dadish. Loves the dialogue. Gets Annabeth to do several levels for him, and if she can’t do it, they ask Nico. Does dances to the soundtrack when he thinks he’s alone. Beat Hot Dog in one try and won’t shut up about it.
Annabeth-> Sims 4. Spends hours just making the characters and whole days making the houses. Makes Pinterest boards for her landscaping + decorating. When she’s frustrated with somebody, she makes them as a sim, puts them in the pool, and removes the ladder. Prints out screenshots of their death and tapes it to the person in question’s door.
Jason-> Spiritfarer. Guy loves his feels. When he first finished Alice’s quest line, he walked around the whole day like a kicked puppy and everybody was like “what’s wrong?” And he just goes “my hedgehog died” and breaks down in the middle of the dining hall. He finishes Elena’s quest the fastest and it gives him deja vu.
Piper-> Chants of Sennaar. Likes the connection of cultures aspect of the game. Makes it through the Abbey, Fortress, and Garden easy peasy, but when she gets into the Galleries, she gets really fucking scared of the monster (just like me for real). She gets Annabeth to do that part for her and Leo laughs at her and offers to do it but gets killed immediately. She laughs at him. She keeps Annabeth and Leo around for moral support.
Leo-> Slime Rancher. Does a stupid southern accent every time he plays it around other people. Goes “yeehaw” every ten seconds. Ends everyday by partying with his fire slimes because he reprogrammed them so they wouldn’t hurt him. Has no clue what the story is about because he doesn’t read a single letter and just goes with the flow.
Hazel-> Papa’s Freezeria. Makes it a point to memorize the basics of every customer’s order. Vocalizes her frustrations out loud when she gets a grade less than 100% on building. “What do you mean, Bruna Romano? Did I not put enough godforsaken bananas on your freaking sundae?” Hates the Rico’s Chiliworks minigame. Loves the Breakfast Blast minigame.
Frank-> Stardew Valley. Avoids the mines because they kind of scare him. Asks Hazel to do it for him but she’s scared of them too, so they ask Leo. They have five chests full of ore and are forty levels down after thirty minutes. Frank tries to be friends with everyone EXCEPT Pierre because Piper told him he was an asshole. Marries Maru every time.

So… my Married Valgrace AU got me thinking about the implications of wedding vows in the Riordanverse.
Like you know for a fact that there’s an afterlife, so “til death do we part” now gets a whole lot more complicated. Do you swear to keep loving them beyond death? What if only one of you ends up in Elysium? Or what if you both end up in Asphodel and can’t find each other again? What if one of you dies years after and now there’s an uncomfortable age gap? Is this something couples have to consider when writing their vows?
And don’t get me started on wedding vows that are sworn on the River Styx. You’re already making a vow you shouldn’t break. Now you’re making a vow that you can’t break, lest there be dire consequences. But it’s not like you can go to your betrothed when writing the vows like “actually, babe, I wanna say “I do”, but I don’t, like, wanna swear it on the Styx, just in case.”
Promises and broken promises are a definite theme in the Riordanverse. It shows up time and time again- Percy’s promise to Nico to protect his sister, the Gods’ promise to pay child support, Leo’s promise to Calypso, Jason’s mom’s broken promise to come back for him, Apollo’s broken oath to not play music or use archery, and his oath to Jason to remember his humanity. Swearing on the Styx is a BIG deal, promises in general, and I wonder how that reflects in a promise made, not only in front of friends and family, but also in the eyes of the gods. Marriage vows particularly being Hera’s department, Queen of the gods. It is taken SERIOUSLY in demigod culture. Especially since probably not many demigods survive long enough to get married.
Now, in Jason’s case particularly his whole identity has been shaped by a broken promise- his mom saying she’d see him again when she left him at the Wolf House- and also something about my theory that “trust” is Jason’s fatal flaw. Making a vow to Leo would be a big thing for him- a good thing, to show his devotion to the man he loves. But if he makes a promise, he means it.
And Leo, who has always been pushed aside, the Repair Boy, the Seventh Wheel, who’s nothing to no one if he’s not useful, can’t quite comprehend someone doing something that meaningful for him.
Similarly, Jason has always given his life for other people. For Camp Jupiter, the gods, his friends. His needs have always come last. In canon, his last act was to save his friends so that Apollo could continue his quest, his final wish being that temples were made to the gods at the two camps. For Leo to be devoted to him, to want to be with him, to vow to him- that’s the first time someone has ever done something that powerful.
I think in Valgrace’s case, they don’t need to swear on the Styx. In fact, I think it’s more meaningful if they don’t. Showing their dedication to keeping their promise without the incentive of divine punishment if they break it. Knowing how much making that promise means to the other one. Knowing that it goes without saying that they intend to fucking keep their promises. They’d swear to love each other beyond death, though. The consolation of “No, I’m NEVER leaving you. Not even if you explode again. I will go to the ends of the earth to be with you, and nothing is gonna stop me loving you, not even us being on different plains of existence.”
Anyway, there’s a lot to be said about the theme of promises in PJO, and how that applies to marriage. A lot of this can be used for Percabeth as well.

this was pulled out of my head on the Discord and decided to share here ^-^
My ranking of godly parents
1) Apollo
this just goes without saying. do i even need to explain?
ONWARDS!
2) Dionysus
cried when his son was killed. asked percy to keep other son safe. is seen eating with his sons in CHB.
3) Aphrodite
helps Piper and her friends on their quest. helps the Seven on their quest. the only bit of bad parenting i remember is forcing piper into clothes she doesn't like.
also Aphrodite is a good mom in the mythology so
4) Hera
#unpopular opinion with wider fandom
Juno is Jason's mom. fight me.
She is actively mourning his death, something Zeus DID NOT do, and helped Jason out as much as she could.
also Hera gets way too much flak from the fandom
5) Hephaestus
keeps an eye on his kids. points taken off for little contact with them, but it's kinda understandable because of his social awkwardness.
6) Ares
#unpopular opinion with wider fandom
"he was gonna hit Clarisse!" was he though? or is it implied Clarisse was raised in an abusive home so when Ares made any sudden movements she would react like she would be hit?
also he gives her not one, but TWO electric spears and his blessing. he provides her armor when she has none.
Ares is a good dad fight me. also it's canon in mythology
Mars is also a good dad, but everyone already knows that.
7) Poseidon
#unpopular opinion with wider fandom
first thing he tells percy is that he wishes he was never born. granted, it was more foot-in-mouth but come on. you've had kids for a WHILE Poseidon you should know not to say things like that.
points for saving Percy a few times (The Arch, Princess Andromeda) but it's probably really easier to give a helping hand to your mortal kids when you only have one mortal kid who hasn't done anything to screw up his or your name. eyes what happened with Theseus
i have other points of contention but i'll stop here.
8) Hades
#unpopular opinion with wider fandom
said he wished Bianca was alive instead of Nico. granted he regrets it so points there but YOU DO NOT SAY THAT TO A CHILD DAMMIT
i don't consider tsats canon but what the fuck was up with that shit. be glad i didn't consider that or he'd be sent towards the very bottom of this list for sending his son to hell on purpose.
9) Hermes
#unpopular opinion with wider fandom
bro fixated WAY too much on Luke and ignored his other kids. coughs in Didn't Claim Chris coughs in Ignored Connor and Travis when they were right in front of him coughs
10) Demeter
absent parent. didn't bother to help Meg or Lityerses, resulting them being raised in abusive households (Nero & Midas/Commodus)
11) Athena
in the words of Stixlx on the Discord: "she sends her kids to die like soldiers rather than kids"
12) Zeus
an abuser is an abuser. therefore he gets dead last.
he also saved thalia but didn't save jason, so there's that too.

Hello, I hope you’re doing well :D
Recently I was thinking about the “X falls first, Y falls harder” trope with specific regard to Percy and Nico and idk in my head you’d be the best at playing around with and breathing life into it so here goes:
Nico’s confession and how he does it is still canon (in vibe, maybe not word choice), Percy ponders that confession, breaks up with Annabeth (for reasons separate to the confession), builds a friendship with Nico, falls SO hard, but Nico has been trying so hard to get over this man at this point and put so much into feeling Platonic Thingz™️ only that his response to Percy’s confessions and advances is denials and soft rejections—dodging what look like one on one dates, “I love you” R being met with “I love you” P, and, when Percy outright says “I wanna be with you” Nico is like “Ummm… no you don’t?”—but eventually Nico confronts himself and they wind up very happily together?
Yeah :)
Hello! The “X falls first, Y falls harder” trope is definitely perfect for Percy/Nico. However, as sweet as it sounds, there's also a lot of potential for drama and.. angst.
One of the things that us, percico shippers usually love to delve on is the interactions between Percy and Nico in canon (tbotl is such a percico book 😏), hence their chemistry. But also, that's the thing!—they had so much history it would definitely take time (years, maybe) to fully unpack everything and realistically get them together.
This might be longer than I'd intend it to, so I'm putting more details under the cut:
It is undeniable that Nico indeed fell first. But what makes Percy fall harder? It's time—the time that has passed since Percy knew Nico (but Percy has to reflect on that) and the time Percy would only ever have after everything is over (outside quests and saving the world). Inevitably, it's also the same time that wasn't allowed for perc*beth to have (which might be the reason why Percy and Annabeth haven't fallen hard enough for each other, but that's for another time).
Going back to what makes it angsty.. What if Nico can't wait that long? What if by the time Percy wanted to be with him, Nico had already accepted that they're not meant to like each other that way?
As for Nico's self-confrontation, ig we're taking the hoo!Nico route where Percy hasn't done enough to be his friend (which again, Percy didn't have the time). Some of the reasons why Nico would dodge Percy's advances are 1) Nico thinks Percy is just being too kind to him; 2) Nico thinks Percy is still guilty and would want to take responsibility for how Nico turned out to be; or 3) Nico enjoys their friendship too much and thinks that being "more" would destroy everything between them.
I took the "mild" route in one of my fics because I gave Nico time to go away and Percy stepped back. But with your ask, if Nico and Percy are always together, and Percy is more.. forward, I think no matter what Percy does, it wouldn't be enough to make Nico believe that Percy loves him.
Again, the waiting time here is crucial. Yet we know that patience is never Percy Jackson's strong suit. So Percy just.. snaps, either by outright kissing Nico or (adding drama here) yelling something along the lines of "I love you, Nico! Why wouldn't you believe me?" Going from here, there has to be an outside intervention (e.g. Hazel or Jason or Reyna or even Persephone if Nico runs to the Underworld)—anyone or anything that would make Nico realize that he and Percy actually can have the chance.
It ends maybe with Percy finding Nico, Percy saying "Fine, if you don't believe me, just never leave like that again. I'd take what you'll give me." And that's when Nico sees himself in Percy—that somehow cements his belief, that maybe, Percy Jackson has fallen for him, too.
Whoo.. I hope you're ready for such a ramble, because I can never stfu about them. Thanks for the wonderful ask 💀🌊

I cannot stop thinking about what would’ve happened if Luke found Nico in the labyrinth and it lead to a domino effect where Nico joins the Roman’s way earlier.
Obviously Minos lead Nico to Luke as a way to get revenge on the gods.
Luke takes in Nico not only because he’s a child of the big 3 so super powerful and younger then Percy, if Luke kills Percy then Nico will be the one in the prophecy.
So Nico joins Luke, and Luke knows exactly how to deal with an angsty 10 year old. Mostly by promising Nico that he’ll kill Percy for him in revenge. So Nico stays and chills with Luke. He’s not super into the whole killing the gods thing but he is for vengeance. So he stays.
During the Battle of Manhattan Nico’s at the mountain base, hidden away so that he’ll be safe for after Percy dies.
Jason and Reyna find him after storming the base and defeating the titans there. As far as they know, he’s Roman and Nico, realizing that Luke’s left him as well, joins them.
Nico does everything to be Roman, it’s an easy switch of the most part, his odd fighting style is explained via him summoning skeletons to teach him how to fight. Mythomagic helps him easily switch from using the Greek names for the gods to the Roman names.
Learning Latin is a struggle, but he learns out of a mix of desperation and worry they’ll realize he’s not one of them. Knowing Itallian helps thankfully and no one is any the wiser and the ghosts know to keep their mouths shut.
Everything’s fine for awhile, Nico makes friends, he’s close with Reyna and Jason. Maybe Hazel’s there, maybe she’s not, I’d say not personally.
And then Percy Fucking Jackson shows up out of nowhere and Jason goes missing. And everything around Nico silently crumbles. Everything he’s built will be gone, everyone will realize he’s a son of Hades and not a son of Pluto. He’ll lose his friends and his home. He’s already lost Jason, though the dots are easy to connect, he’s definitely at camp half blood.
His saving grace is Percy not knowing who he is.
It’s almost cathartic for Nico to watch people tense up around Percy. How the find him strange and how he’s so clearly an outsider.
The tables have been turned. And Nico watches every second of it with glee.
Even before it’d been revealed Nico was a son of Hades the campers at CHB were weary of him on instinct. Nico remembers how one of the other unclaimed kids told him that he was... off. There was something strange, threatening about him.
And now Percy gets to experience the same thing with the Roman’s and their distrust of Neptune and his children.
Once Percy goes on his quest Nico knows he won’t die. So he busies himself with looking for Jason, slowly trying to inch everyone towards the correct conclusion without being too obvious.
But it all comes to an end, and Percy returns with the eagle and his memory intact.
Percy stays quiet, pulling Nico to the side when no one’s around and asking him what happened, why he’s here, how he’s here. Nico shrugs and shadow travels away.
It gets worse when the Argo II comes, when Jason sees Nico and even though he doesn’t remember there’s something so achingly familiar about him he knows that at some point they were close.
No one is as confused as Annabeth, who immediately knows.
“Nico? We thought you died.”
And all hell breaks loose.

Am I the only one who thinks that satyrs on quests are so weird. What mean is that sometimes the satyr counts, and sometimes they don't. Quests are supposed to have three participants, right? And satyrs count. The og trio is Percy, Annabeth, and Grover. They are a group of 3.
In tlh Coach Hedge doesn't count. Piper, Jason and Leo are the trio and he simply doesn't count. But when he goes with Reyna and Nico to deliver the Athena Parthenos, he is considered part of the quest and it is a considered a trio.
Am I just reading too much into this? Someone make it make sense.

Octavian is not the villain all of you make him out to be.
He's annoying. He slices open teddy bears to supposedly see the future. He's a rich boy (although we never actually see him brag about that). Out of context, he sounds like a demonic toddler. He's a blackmailer. He's a fucking asshole. But that's all.
Not trusting Percy? Perfectly normal. If all your life you were told that there's this group of people that you've been in war with ever since before the Roman Empire was a thing, that this group of people hates you with a burning passion and wants nothing more than to see your doom, that you've hurt and humiliated them and they've hurt you and humiliated you back, that they inferior to you in every way, and then a person from that group showed up at your doorstep, chased by monsters and started making friends with a suspicious looking guy that turned out being a spy and an undead person, would you trust them?
Personally, I wouldn't. Remember, the audience knows and loves Percy, but to a stranger Percy is a random, aggressive, powerful dude that causes chaos everywhere he goes and is the main suspect in multiple cases of terrorism. To Octavian, a person he knew and had worked with and might have enjoyed the presence of suddenly went missing, and then this troublesome, forbidden kid shows up and hangs out with a spy and a zombie. What reason could he possibly have to like Percy? How is he a villain for not trusting Percy? He's just being a freaking sane person dude.
Not go mention that Percy was also a forbidden child, one that typically everyone is wary of. And what does the greek forbidden child that causes chaos and develops friendships with spies and zombies do? He goes in one quest and is immediately granted the position that Octavian has wanted and has been working for for years, which happens to be the same position that Octavian's... Friend (?) had before he literally went missing. Doesn't it sound a bit suspicious when your powerful friend disappears, and a powerful potential enemy with questionable company shows up and steals your friend's job?
What luck, am I right? For a powerful enemy to show up as soon as there's a position of power open that needs to be filled by somebody who has power? Who's to say that Nico, who was later on proven to be a spy, wasn't send there by Percy? Who's to say Percy wasn't the one to kidnap and maybe even kill Jason, so that the position of the praetor would be open for him to take, and then allow Greeks into the camp so that they can destroy it and win this endless, centuries old war between Romans and Greeks?
And isn't that exactly what Percy ended up doing? He was granted praetorship, allowed Greeks into that camp on a heavily weaponed, flying warship, and they ended up blowing up part of the camp!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And what excuse do they give him for that? "This dude you don't know and don't trust and has built this warship got possessed by a ghost who we claim is rising but have no real, solid proof to support this claim. But she is rising and she did posses Leo, he didn't want to do it, he's a good guy that just happened to walk into your property with a huge weapon and blew up your house by accident. Despite all you've ever been taught about Greeks and despite that all the history books have told you about how much they hate you, and despite the extremely suspicious circumstances surrounding the situation, and despite blowing up your home, Greeks actually love you and want to work with you. Trust me bro." And this was coming from the dude that was friends with a literal spy that lied and kept secrets from everyone.
You know guys, you're right, I'm starting to see why all of you hate Octavian so much. He's being so unreasonable and overreacting over such small things. 😐 /sarcasm.
And then you were all upset that he gathered an army to go to war against the people that threw bombs in his house to defend himself.
Octavian was a dick, that's out of the question. He manipulated and blackmailed people. But the only thing he did that crossed the line of "dick" and entered "villain" territory was being the primary suspect for Gwen's murder. And she didn't even stay dead, so even that is not that bad.
This proven.
And for scientific reasons, I want to see if I actually convinced anyone.

Jackson Twins AU
Imagine, for a moment, a Percy Jackson who grew up an only child, but was born a twin. His stillborn brother, Theo, an ever-present shadow that he misses.
Imagine a Percy Jackson who grows up sharing dreams with a stranger boy, who looks a little bit too much like his mum for it to be a coincidence.
Imagine a Percy Jackson who goes on his first quest at the age of 12, the same as this strange boy he knows - but he's not a boy anymore, but a girl.
Imagine a Percy Jackson who guides, cares for, and mentors little Nico di Angelo in the same way as this girl mentors little Jason Grace.
Imagine a Percy Jackson who mirrors his twin on their journeys in life, until they finally properly meet for the Prophecy of Seven.
---
Theseus Jackson is born to Neptune and Sally Jackson on August 18, just before sunrise. Just before his brother. He's taken away though, and the Mist is used to make Sally believe he'd been stillborn. He's trained by Lupa and raised by the Vestal Virgins of New Rome, a template for Jason Grace to follow in four years.
Theseus Jackson leaves his mark on Camp Jupiter and New Rome, growing up in the legion. He builds a reputation as the son of Neptune. He changes attitudes, just a little bit.
Then, when he's twelve, he realises he's not a boy, but a girl. Her brother has just discovered he's a demigod.
She chooses the name Iovita. He is claimed by Poseidon.
They start their first quests on the same day. They finish their quests on the same day. Vita heads toward the East, to a city in New York state. Percy heads toward the West, to Los Angeles in California.
The next summer, Vita goes on a quest with Jason to deal with the Trojan sea monster in Washington state. Her fatal flaw is excessive practicality. Percy goes on a quest with Annabeth to the Sea of Monsters off Florida. His fatal flaw is excessive loyalty.
In winter, Vita is on another quest and guides Reyna to the Wolf House. Hylla chooses to join the Amazons instead, before they can leave the dock. She goes on a quest that ends on Mount Olympus. Percy is on a retrieval mission and guides Nico to Camp Half-Blood. Bianca chooses to join the Hunters instead, before they can leave Westover Hall. He goes on a quest that ends on Mount Tam.
The labyrinth is used against both camps the next summer. Iovita and Percy help lead their respective camps in the battles.
The final skirmishes of the Great Prophecy take place on August 18. Their birthday. Everything ends at dawn, between the twins' times of birth.
Everything regarding them has been equal, balanced, mirrored, measured.
When Hera takes Percy, in this world, she does not take Jason. Instead, she takes Vita, because the twins cannot meet yet. (They have passed each other on quests, seen each other and helped each other when their paths cross. This is not the same as properly meeting each other.)
Vita wakes up on that bus, holding the hand of a girl who says they're best friends and a row behind a boy who is supposedly her boyfriend. She doesn't remember anything other than one name, and an affectionate laugh: Reyna. Percy eventually wakes up in the Wolf House, surrounded by wolves. He doesn't remember anything other than one name, and a sharp smile: Annabeth.
Vita has an easier time at Camp Half-Blood because of the legacy Percy left. Percy has an easier time at Camp Jupiter because of the changes Vita caused.
Vita has big shoes to fill, with this brother of hers having saved Olympus (what is this jealousy she feels?), and revolutionised the treatment of the non-Olympian gods and goddesses. Percy has big shoes to fill, with this sister of his having destroyed Othrys (why is he jealous?), and revolutionised the perception of Neptune and his children.
Vita has to rescue the Queen of the Gods from Mother Earth before the solstice. Percy has to rescue the god of (Peaceful) Death from the Bane of Pluto before the Feast of Fortuna.
Vita takes Drew Tanaka and Leo Valdez on her quest. Percy takes Hazel Levesque and Frank Zhang.
Vita chooses a bunk far away from her brother's in the Poseidon cabin - she refuses to be an extension of this great hero, because she is her own person. Percy takes the only empty bunk in the Fifth Cohort barracks, and his glad it's far away from his sister's - he refuses to be an extension of this great soldier, because he is his own person.
Vita ends up becoming a mentor to a lot of the younger campers, and helps Annabeth and Grover lighten up and relax a bit. She creates her own place as a leader in the structure of Camp Half-Blood. Percy ends up becoming a mentor to a lot of the younger legionnaires, and helps Jason and Reyna lighten up and relax a bit. He creates his own place as a leader in the structure of Camp Jupiter.
When Percy finally drinks the gorgon's blood, saved from Phineas on his quest to Alaska, it helps with both of their memories.
Vita looks back on these warm moments and realises, oh. Oh. She has a massive crush on Reyna. Percy looks back on these warm moments and realises, oh. Oh. He's not in a good relationship.
Vita catastrophized her relationship with Reyna when she couldn't remember. Percy romanticized his relationship with Annabeth when he couldn't remember. They're now able to be objective about the relationships, and everything has changed.
Vita is still a little bit doubtful of her crush. Percy is still a little bit hopeful for his relationship.
They meet for the first time when Annabeth, Drew, Vita, Leo, and Grover fly over New Rome.
Reyna enters Vita's line of sight, and her heart stutters for a moment in response. Annabeth judo flips Percy, and the legionnaires of Camp Jupiter react accordingly.
Vita stays quiet. Percy stays quiet.
Something goes wrong, and they have to leave quickly after the peaceful lunch and reunions with old, half-remembered friends.
Hazel, Frank, Percy, and a retired legionnaire join the five already on the Argo II.
Vita and Percy properly meet 5 minutes later, in the communal bedroom belowdecks. Things are awkward, until Vita asks for stories of their mum and Percy asks for stories of her childhood in return.
Things turn out pretty good.
Then Annabeth is caught by Arachne, and Vita bends to cut off the web still attached to the proud girl's ankle. She manages to saw it off, but it's now stuck to her and pulling her towards the hole to Tartarus. Percy, per his loyalty, tries to catch her and hold her up. They both fall.
Things are bad, sure, but their bond strengthens. They fully and properly understand each other. They do dark things they wouldn't otherwise, but understand the necessity and don't judge the other for it.
They come out of the House of Hades and continue to follow through on their quest.
Vita gets a cut on her leg. Percy still gets a bloody nose. Gaea still stirs.
The battle at Half-Blood Hill is fough and won.
Vita asks Reyna out. Percy breaks up with Annabeth.
Percy goes home to his mother. Vita meets her mother.
The Ship of Theseus: If each plank of wood in a ship is replaced over time, until all the ship has been replaced, is it still the same ship? If another ship has been made using all the original materials, which is the original ship?
Theseus and Iovita: If Theseus Jackson survived and grew up, but changed and took on a new name, is it still the same child? If a body has been buried under the name Theseus Jackson, which child is Theseus?

My brain can’t stop thinking of AUs lol (Pt. 1)
An AU where Luke just has a feral group of Demigod kids when he’s found by Grover.
Thalia, Jason, Leo, and Annabeth are just chilling with Luke.
Luke being lets just say extremely most hesitant to join Kronos because he still has three insane kids to take care of.
But ultimately he does betray camp and it’s probably right around S.o.M when they find out it was Luke who poisoned Thalia’s tree.
Luke possibly trying to recruit them + Percy who has unofficially joined Luke’s band of kids (Jason joining??)
The titans curse with both Luke and Percy trying to get their hands on the Di Angelo kids (both of them getting one in the end? Luke getting Bianca and Percy getting Nico)
Bianca like, not dying lol.
Battle of the Labyrinth, Annabeth finally getting a quest, chasing a mysterious demigod through the labyrinth and in the end, the explosion of Mt. Helens, the demigod army invading camp, Jason becoming the host for Kronos, possibly trying to revive some other titans in the same way as well with Luke and Bianca preparing to become hosts for other titans. Bianca not feeling right about joining Luke anymore and leaving after seeing her brother nearly killed by Kronos and his army.
The Last Olympian with Percy having to fight Jason, one of his first friends at camp, a reminder of innocence and how easily Percy could’ve been Jason after his mother died.
Leo finally stepping up from the sidelines with newfound courage to fight Kronos, especially after the death of Beckendorf.
Luke and Annabeth finally coming face to face properly. Annabeth facing the Titan that’s inhabiting Luke’s body, and Luke’s death (which I imagine be very similar to canon especially because he’s not Kronos host).
Bianca and Ethan coming face to face (who probably have a very interesting history). Ethan’s revenge and Bianca just wanting to save her brother.
Having a way more deadly and bloody battle of manhattan than in canon.
The death(??) of Jason and the getting together of Percy and Annabeth after the final battle finally allowed them to push through their final obstacle in the way: themselves and their grief.
The Lost Hero when Percy goes missing after all they’ve been through and Annabeth doesn’t have anybody left except Leo (and Nico to an extent). When these mysterious demigods shows up and nobody knows why.
The Son of Neptune when Percy has been wandering for months only remembering a set of blonde hair. When he gets issued on a quest with nothing except two random demigods and his instinct.
Mark of Athena when the seven has finally formed (thinking Nico, Frank, Percy, Annabeth, Leo, and two other demigods). When wisdoms daughter finally has a prophecy on her shoulders when she walks to her death.
House of Hades when Percy falls alone because he doesn’t want Annabeth to die down there in the horrors of Tartarus because enough people have died already.
Blood of Olympus when Percy deals with the aftermath of his journey, when Gaea’s secret weapons: Hazel and Piper are finally revealed, when Gaea is hoping to get the true seventh wheel, the strongest demigod of the era on her side. When Percy takes on the prophecy himself because the Battle of Manhattan can’t happen again (he still has nightmares about everyone who died).
lol I dunno just a thought, those two other characters would probably be ocs because
1. Hazel probably would never be found by Nico because of when Bianca dies and how old Nico would be and how he understands.
2. Piper doesn’t have a reason to be loyal to the demigod world if/when she’s found. There’s no Leo or Jason for her. She’s alone and as far as she’s concerned she’s always been alone. Why not join Gaea and bring out the system that had a part in her staying alone.
As for the plot of HoO itself I wanna change it a little cuz ngl it’s kind of basic lol. One of the major problems is that Gaea doesn’t have a reason for her actions that really makes you think like Luke’s did imo. Could have her embrace the “mother” part of Mother Earth lol.
Maybe she’s mad because the children of the earth, her children have been disrespected and abused for too long, pawns of the gods, maybe on this timeline when Kronos tried to recruit her (which I think he did?? Not sure) she wasn’t able to reform fast enough and her actions are driven by the guilt of the grieving mother who wasn’t able to protect her children in time idk just SOMETHING to make her not one dimensional and boring lol.
I probably wouldn’t write this but it would be cool if someone did.

@Sweetconnoisseurgardener -- please part 3
Raising children in Olympus
Tumblr media
When you were brought to Olympus your job was easy; Cater to every god who requested you .. which was almost everyone at every moment-- but you finally put your foot down and said you weren't catering to grown adult gods and goddessss. You did the boldest of moves and ignored them; Persephone had the bright idea of saying you clearly enjoyed taking care of children so, why not send you to camp half blood
So to camp half blood you were taken, there you basically mothered the children, helping them with wounds, or giving them advice or cooking dinners, lunch, breakfast, etc
You would teach kids basically stuff how laundry, cooking, knitting etc just to help them in the real world when they're not being gods or doing quests.
Very long story short; the kids are obsessed! They love you so much! Like thank you for just being present! They love everything you do and worship you like their own goddess of their own religion. (Shocked their parents actually, like; why? You are gods?!) you just tell em it's whatever, again you didn't mind the kids, sure you didn't exactly want kids but to be fair most of them are teenagers or at least older children, so they were easier than just infants.
Percy, Annabeth, Jason (grace), Nico (di Angelo), Clarisse (La Rue) etc all love you (just to name a few because I'm not putting them all here) they're your biggest fans, you could be doing normal things and sudden, everyone celebrating it like you spread apart the sea!
*Reader knitting the kids torn shirts/pants*
*Percy coming up behind her to scare her*
*Reader; hello Percy*
*Percy groaned loudly and sat on the grass next to her; how'd you know it was me?*
*reader; I'm helping with raising you, of course I know you*
*Clarisse jumping on Percy to beat him up, before stopping abruptly to look at reader; hey auntie Y/N your looking lovely and happy today. *Goes to back punching Percy*
*reader; hello Clarisse*

Exotic Pets I think PJO Characters would own
Disclaimer: This post does not encourage the purchase or distribution of exotic/endangered animals to be kept in captivity. This is completely for entertainment purposes
Percy owns a Blue Mosaic Axolotl and he named it Mandy. This is because he originally thought she was a salamander. When he took it home and showed it to Annabeth, she corrected him but the name already stuck.
Annabeth has a Canary Barn Owl named Cato. She does not own this owl per se. Cato was flying near their apartment when Annabeth decided to leave some food out for him. Since then, Cato has been keeping an eye on her and following her around from the apartment to her college campus to the grocery store.
Grover has a Kinkajou he named Jumper. Again, he does not particularly own him. Jumper just happened to jump onto his shoulder while he was taking a hike through the woods one night. Jumper was hungry so Grover gave him some food. Every now and then, Grover would go back and feed him.
Nico (besides Cerby) owns two melanistic foxes named Aspen and Amber. No one knows the true origin of these foxes, all the campers know is that they just showed up out of no where and follow Nico around. Despite what they think, Aspen and Amber are actually very friendly and they only get defensive if you intend to harm Nico (besides Percy. They hate Percy for some reason).
Jason has a Racoon Dog named Jojo. Jason found Jojo while he was out for a walk. It was raining and it looked like Jojo was injured. Thankfully, they weren't that far from camp so he took him back and gave him a warm bath and treated him. Once Jojo was fully healed, Jason tried to release him back out there but he wouldn't leave
Piper has Anna's Hummingbirds. She built a bird house one time with Leo and hung it outside of the cabin. Next thing she knows, hummingbirds are inhabiting it. Two paticular hummingbirds she sees are two Anna's hummingbirds she named Luna and Aurelia.
Reyna (besides her two dogs) has a Serval Cat she named Aenea. Reyna does not own her but she goes to feed her every now and then and lets her take shelter during storms or when she wants
Bianca has an Unkindness of Ravens. Not one, not two, an Unkindness. EDIT: She was on a quest with the hunters one time and the ravens warned her about where they were going, where they should go, etc. The ravens got attached to her, being the daughter of the dead. And she eventually got used to it, but some of the hunters still get jumpscares when they wake up and see Bianca being surrounded by dozens of ravens. Two Ravens in particular, she named Argus and Sergio. These two are in charge of looking after Nico. Yes, she can speak to them; Yes, they are also messenger birds.
Thalia has a Sugar Glider named Jason. She found him on the shelf in her cabin looking for food. She was about to help him down when he flew to the drawer beside her bed. She took him to Annabeth to figure out what he is. She gave him some food after that and thought that he reminded him of Jason.
Hazel has a Chinchilla named Amy. Amy (short for Amethyst) looks like she's purple but really, she's a mix of grey and blue, which is why she looks purple. Amy was actually a gift from Frank.
Will, scarily enough, has an Edit 2: Sunbeam Snake he named Bowie. Again, no one knows where he came from, they just walked into the Apollo Cabin and freak out when they see the snake slithering around the cabin and they just go, "Oh, don't worry, that's just Bowie". Bowie only likes being held by the Apollo kids and Nico.
Leo has a Tarantula named Felix (Fix for short). Oddly enough, Leo was never scared of spiders, if anything, he loves them. The Athena Cabin always asks for his help to get rid of spiders. He found Fix crawling on his work table, almost getting killed when he interfered. He scooped him up and sent him back into the woods. The next day, he found him again on his table. He kept putting him back till he gave up and made a little space for him

Screw it, I'm never gonna actually write this. So here, fanfic idea for anyone interested in writing it. I've been holding onto it since I was like 16 or 17 and I'm in my 20s now. Someone else can write it.
Adopting it, you can do what you want with it. But this is all I’ve personally thought up for it:
So it'll start with Percy and Nico being adults, they're married, they're happy.
Then Nico gets a prophecy and he leaves to do the quest.
But when he finally comes back via shadows, he's halfway dead and beyond saving, having used the last of his strength because he didn't want to part from someone he cared for without telling them goodbye.
A month or two goes by, it's the day after Nico's funeral, and Percy is sitting in their room, still in shock that his husband is dead.
There's a knock at the door, he ignores it. Once, twice, gone.
Then Aphrodite appears in front of him, startling him, saying something along the lines of "Well, I WAS trying to be polite but that apparently wasn't an option."
Before Percy can shoo her off, she tells him there's a pocket of Kronos's powers only she knew about and she's willing to give it to Percy so he can go back and save Nico. Not out of kindness, but because it's basically like a movie having a shitty ending to her and she wants to fix it.
He ends up accepting, but gets thrown too far back, to when he was 12 in the Lotus Hotel & Casino.
He realizes what's happening, tries to find Grover and Annabeth like last time. But on his search, he bumps into a young boy asking if Percy's seen his sister, and saying everyone’s being weird and saying it’s different years. And Percy feels just a wave of emotion remembering how Nico looked back when they had first met. But then he’s confused because this hadn’t happened last time he was here.
He helps Nico find Bianca, Bianca doesn’t trust Percy but her and Nico agree to follow him because he’s the only one with some sense of normalcy compared to everyone else. They help him find Annabeth and Grover, who once finally out of the Casino are confused at the two new kids, but Grover senses that they’re demigods.
This time, Percy knows his mother is alive and Hades has her, but on top of remembering he has his helmet, he now has 2 of Hades’ kids. So he doesn’t know what to do there (In other words: I don’t know)
Then when he gets to Olympus, all the gods acknowledge the time change. They want to just strike Percy then and there, but know he’s the prophecy child, and aren’t risking putting Nico or Bianca in that place because at least Percy is mostly guaranteed for them.
So another thing is that this time around there’s no Hunters of Artemis around to pull in Bianca. So she sticks with the trio and Nico at CHB. Whether her destiny is to die or not is up to whoever adopts this.
And with Bianca alive, or at least having a more settled life for him to properly mourn, Nico might end up living life differently.
Nico cautiously opens up to Percy about liking guys (Specifically in the scene where Nico popped into Percy's apartment window and was invited in for cake), and by TLO they’re a couple.
In HoO, when Percy loses his memory, all he recalls is a skull ring and that it belonged to someone he cared about. When he gets to Camp Jupiter, he just senses he knows Nico, and it’s amplified by the fact Nico has that same ring. But Nico, knowing he can’t reveal too much, pretends Percy has the wrong guy. When Percy finally remembers, he embraces Nico, but stops when he remembers Nico’s closeted still.
Story goes on mostly as normal, but with more of the two together and Percy thinking about their future and how to protect him.
Due to Nico’s fears, they keep their relationship secret aside from Grover and Sally. But then the Cupid scene happens, and Nico tells Jason about his and Percy’s relationship. Jason is supportive. When they all meet again, Jason lets Percy know that he knows and that he’ll keep them secret.
By the end, instead of the “You’re not my type” talk, it’s instead “I think I’m ready for the world to know.”
And it’s Annebeth being the surprised one (Unless you want to include her in the few people who knew)
Stuff goes on as normally, ToA happens, they’re somewhat long-distance except when Nico sneaks out via shadow travel to see Percy. Adult life comes around, they move in together, get married, and this time around have a surrogate kid. But the day is closing in, the day Percy has been dreading since he went back to the Lotus. And when it finally comes, he begs and pleads for Nico not to follow the prophecy, who’s about to put his foot down. But then he exposes the truth, how this wasn’t the first life they’d lived, how this wasn’t the first time they were there. And how Nico was going to die.
And at this point, Nico knows what’s going to happen, the quest isn’t going to stop just because he said no. And he would’ve walked out the door anyways despite Percy’s protest because at least his death will keep them safe, if their kid hadn’t overheard everything and now knew their dad/step-dad was going to die.
This was the point where my brain also pooped. Does Nico die anyways? Do the dangers come to their home instead? If so, could that lead to a sequel/just continue where they go to save their kid? Or does it conclude around here? Because there WILL be consequences to them majorly defying fate. And probably some consequences from Percy using a speck of Kronos’ power.
So feel free to do with this as you want. I have so much thought out but I’ll never actually write it.
I also have other ideas I’ll never actually write myself, but I’ll talk about those some other time.
Also, it was inspired by this fanart by @minuiko

Reyna's entire arm is covered in weird scars. No one really knows how to ask her about it - probably some odd quest she and Jason went on as kids. Then one day she walks into their biannual argo 2 group meeting while Jason is pacing back and forth while Leo is chattering up a storm about some project, using words only Annabeth understands.
Jason isn't really the type to pace, that's more Leo's and Percy's thing. He's more like Annabeth, sat down with tapping feet and fidgety hands, hyperfocusing on one specific thing to keep from going insane. But there he is far in the back of Percy's cabin. It's back and forth, from wall to wall. He chimes in with a clipped tone at times. It's odd, but no one calls him out about it. He seems stressed. Drawing attention to his stress tends to only heighten it.
Then Reyna barges in. Her question, "Where's Nico?", goes answered by Hazel, but she doesn't turn around and walk out. Instead she catches Jason's speedwalking form. A scowl immediately cuts her face. She stomps through the group's impromptu circle on her way towards him.
"Jason!" she barks, hiking up the sleeve of her left arm. The scars are much lighter than the rest of her skin. "Arm!"
Jason draws short. His eyes are wide when he looks at her. Then an annoyed draw of his eyebrows. But before he can say anything, she grabs him by the back of his head, dragging him down and shoving her arm into his mouth.
Suddenly the scars make much more sense.
There's a moment where nothing happens. Jason just looks pissed off, Reyna is unbothered, still holding on the back of his head, and everyone thinks he's going to detach and snap at her with whatever annoyance is glowing in his eyes.
Then a guttural snarl rips out his chest. It's more animal than human. It takes a minute to realize Jason was the source and not some emergence of a creature from the shadows. He bites down and Reyna barely flinches. She draws up to the balls of her feet as Jason rises with her arm in his mouth. Her other arm falls to her side. With a roll of her eyes, she sighs and turns to the confused group before her.
"When we were younger and he'd get overstimulated and agitated, I'd let him chew on my arm," she says, like it's the most normal thing to say about a childhood. Then again only two of the demigods in the room had vaguely normal childhoods, so it's not necessarily out of place.
"Why not just get a chew toy?" Piper asks. "Or a bone?"
Jason drags his teeth down to Reyna's wrist. She squints at him and he pulls back up a bit. "Because Jason likes fleshy things and it's less creepy to chew on your friend's arm instead of the dead rabbit you caught and ripped the head off.
"Jesus Christ," Hazel mutters.
The neutral look on Reyna's face remains. "Exactly."
Frank grimaces when Jason draws up to her shoulder and a weird noise clicks in the air. Leo has already moved on and is rambling about his latest project again, Annabeth turning away from Jason and Reyna to listen in. Percy eyes the two for a bit before going back to placing star stickers all over Piper's face.
"Doesn't that hurt?" Frank asks, slightly drowned out by Leo's loud chatter.
"I still a feel it, but it stopped hurting after the third time," Reyna says. A bit of blood drips down her skin, Jason's eyes wide and feral. "Apparently I have a degree of nerve damage in this arm, which is why-" She cuts her gaze back to Jason who is uninterested in anything else but chewing her skin like he wants to rip it open and eat it. "-he's not supposed to go near my hand."
He chuffs around her arm and bites harder into her bicep. She flicks his forehead. It lasts another minute. By the end, the others have drawn their focuses back to one another. Jason drops Reyna's arm out of his mouth like a cat giving a rat to its owner. They knock their foreheads together. Jason rubs his cheek against hers, then draws back. There's still a simmer of something in him, but he's not pacing like he's trying to catch up on his steps for the day.
Reyna marches back to the door and repeats her initial question. Annabeth answers with a wave goodbye. In the back of the cabin, Jason has relaxed in a slump on the floor. No one questions him, but eyes are drawn and Leo fades off for the first time since they all sat down and asked, "What have you guys been up to?"
However Leo is never silent for long, and shouts, "Are you gonna start biting my arm? Because I've kind of been thinking about mangling it up on purpose to make myself into a bitching cyborg."
All three girls reach across to swat him across the head at the thought, but he just ducks it with a laugh. James draws up out of his slump. He stretches long like a dog waking up from a good nap, and crawls over just enough to drop his head into Frank's lap. He reaches around to grab his hand and drops it into his hair. Frank rolls his eyes but starts petting.
"No," Jason says, tone clipped. "I stopped doing that when I was like thirteen."
Frank tugs once at Jason's hair. "When did you start?"
Jason's eyes slide close. "When was I given to the wolves?"
Hazel's nose wrinkles. "Those poor fucking rabbits. Did you at least eat them?"
A wide grin splits Jason's face. Then he shakes his head and twists over a bit so Frank can cover some more ground in his pets. "Of course," he says, half into Frank's belly. "But I've got other things I can do now." He doesn't elaborate on the other things. "Camp's just loud. I forgot."
Before Leo had launched into his latest project spiel, Jason dropped that he was meeting with minor gods across the country. Touring cities and states alone certainly approached more silence than the screeching and yells of kids calling out to one another from several feet away. Or the constant clang of swords, the breakout of musical renditions from the Apollo cabin, or the braying of pegasi and unicorns.
"Jason, you grew up around wolves and Hannibal," Frank laughs, "And you don't like noise?"
Jason gestures to his ear. "Sound carries on air. I hear a lot more than everyone else."
Oh, they all think, then grimace at memories of embarrassing noises they've made when they thought they were far enough away no one else would notice it.
"It's more... in-depth," Jason adds quiet. "Like the flap of a butterfly's wings. And the last few gods have lived closer to the nature. Quieter, solitude." He laughs a quiet wisp of a laugh. "And then I come back here and it's more than just leaves rustling." He's quiet for a breath, then, "It's noise. And it's like it's inside me."
"I get it," Percy says. "I have whales trying to talk to me and that goes right through my bones." He shakes his head, voice quieting down. "It is hell."
Jason's knees draw up closer to him, his face twisting further into Frank's lap. "Yeah. It is."

I'm a sucker for Nico being considered the official Prince of the Underworld (needs more ff on that because I live for them at this point) even tho the noble titles don't really matter for Demigods standard. BUT! Here's the thing. Even if for the demigods don't really care that Nico,or someone else (Percy,Thalia,Jason, and Hazel),is a royal,in his father's domains it's a really big thing. Nico is the only son of Hades alive, and probably the first in a very long time,he is also very polite and respectful, accepting them for what and how they are. And since his father is the King of his own domains,Nico has the title of Prince as his birthright. The being of Underworld see that as a title with a real weight and importance. Not taking in consideration his others titles too (Ghost King and Ambassador of Pluto).
Like,Nico would walk around the Fields and every souls would bow a 90° to him,in sign of respect. When he is in the palace, the servants would fulfill every request he has because that's their job and it's the prince that asked for those,no metter how much strange could they be. Nico is attending a trial and the judges, before starting, bow to him and in the end ask him for his opinion on the final verdict. Cerberus loves him and allows him to climb on his back and carry him wherever he needs to go. Charon is almost his personal ferryman, everytime Nico use his ferry that man focus all of his full attention on him. When he is on quest, and some ghosts or souls meets him, they refer to him using his noble title (Nico is pretty embarrassed by it–) and try to do anything to help him. If there are more than one, they often argue trying to win his favor. He goes on diplomatic missions as the Ambassador of Pluto for Hades, and the dead are just.... extremely collaborative with him in everything because he is their prince and they would never dream of going against him. He think his influence as the Ghost King is what make them so available with him,and in part it's also because of that, but it's also the fact that's he is the prince of the Underworld and they are his subjects. And if he find a souls from a different Pantheon? If those souls don't show the respect he deserves the souls in the Greek Underworld will come looking for them, because no one disrespect their prince like that. When Minos betrayed him? Hades himself was there for his trial and Alecto was in charge for his punishment. She was pretty brutal with it,making sure that Minos had an orrible time for what he did to the little prince, before Hades destroyed his soul. The souls of people that tried to hurt, harm or betray the prince? The Fields of Punishment were too good for them. Thanatos and Nico sometimes worked together, because Hades want Nico to start understanding that he actually does have certain duties he needs to fulfill as a prince and that no,he is not joking.
And in all of this Nico is not really aware of how much does the title Prince of the Underworld really influences his father's reign, because he think it's only thanks to his powers that he has that much of leverage. But that's ok,the Underworld love their prince very much and will do anything for him, even if he dosn't realize it yet.
