I have been thinking of a way to bring back the Metalocalypse gift exchange I hosted last year and decided that this year instead of a gift exchange I would try and host a themed week. This year’s theme is Rare Pairs! I SURVIVED KLOKTOBER 2023 WITHOUT MISSING A SINGLE DAY I THINK I'M INSANE

i wrote 59,199 words over these past few weeks. i did a nanowrimo of mtl fanfic. i need to be institutionalized. (i'm also a nanowrimo veteran, and the median word count for these fics was just over 1667 words, so ain't that crazy.)

Tell me your Pickles (or Nickles) headcanons!!!

There's no structure to this (I did say I would be rambling to be fair)

Him and Seth are twins and his parents don't remember who is actually older but they switch it depending on the situations

Ex. "Respect your older brother!" vs "You have to look out for your younger brother."

Pick a lane.

I personally hc he's FTM and did shit like cut his hair and steal Seth's clothes until his parents just gave up and bought what he'd wear (It's not like they actually give a shit about him cuz they're the WORST)

I think SnB was like fairly short lived? I think that's canon but it's MTL there's no reason fucking timeline. Regardless. He left at 16 but when it fell apart he had to move back in with his parents and that's when he finished HS and then got the fuck out of there again.

He, god bless him, will never fucking learn to give up on his parents. (I relate. It's hard accepting your family is shitty and harder to cut them out) He will keep reaching out, he helps his parents when they ask, he still throws Seth more than he deserves now and then.

He wanted to have more of a leadership role when Dethklok formed given his experience but found it really easy to for the most part let Nathan take the lead.

Him and Magnus for SURE had history. They got messy divorce written all over them. He thought Magnus flipping out like he did came out of no where but the more he thought about it he kind of realized he'd been making excuses for him. He was his friend and lover Just like with family it's hard to accept someone you love might just fucking suck. (Disclaimer: I'm not saying Magnus as a character is the same to Pickles shitty family. He's a really interesting character and I like exploring what we didn't get the chance to see)

He did not fuck with Skwisgaar when he first showed up. Skwisgaar was younger and kind of a diva who would clash with Magnus and that bled into their interactions. It pretty quickly sorted itself out after a few months though but man their fights were not fun to be around for.

They would both hide each others shit (Pickles kept throwing out any coffee that entered that apartment. Skwisgaar would fucking flush whatever Pickles had around and even figured out he had a stash in the car? Fucking nightmare. Nathan had to put his foot down)

He treated Murderface like a little brother when he joined because he related to having a shitty home life and Murderface was just barely 18 when he joined he was a fucking baby someone HAD to look out for him (Reminder I like to ignore MF being second oldest cuz fucking look at him in preklok. That's a child. Don't give him booze)

He didn't actually grow out of treating him like a younger brother but his soft spot for him has hardened over time (He loves him! But fuck man he can get annoying)

Emotions hit him really hard. Man starts his day with his glass half full so he is just spilling over most of the time.

i headcanon Nathan as being Miccosukee & pickles as being trans. these are really the only constant & recurring headcanons i have, otherwise im open to a bunch of stuff

the only constant romantic ship i have is Nickles, they are truly It for me. as far as the rest of the band goes, i prefer a family dynamic for them. you won't really find any romantic Skwistok, Skwisface, Murdertooth, or any other ships with Nathan or Pickles here. that being said, if you ship all of them or mix n match them up that's okay 👍👍👍👍

I think that if you had given more information about Snakes N’ Barrels, we would have known the actual sound and the glam essence of the band that it’s actually very similar to GnR too *Because everybody knows that SnB is a parody of Guns N Roses * 

Above all it’s similitary between Water Horsey Blues and You’re Crazy (With the difference in the lyrics and the more grave sound in the Pickles' voice)

💖- Happy headcanon - aw do you think when dethklok post doomstar was doing charity stuff pickles was like working with some kids and they all kinda look up to him because he's big and successful and so nice and also he's gay like them :). so he starts to hang out with them and like help them with their problems. he starts to make them feel more at home and even decides to make a shelter for any runaway kids who need a home. pickles also denies that he cares about the kids he's helping as he's hugging them all tightly. caring isn't brutal (he's crying)

😋- Funny/stupid headcanon - i think he just knew how to play drums randomly. like when dethklok was starting nathan was like 'we have a singer and three guitarists can you play drums?' pickles is like 'no ive never played drums but ill try' cue like one of the best drum solos those guys have heard and murderface is like 'how the FUCK did you do that?' and pickles just shrugs. literally winging his successful music career

I'm on the fence with this one! I think ultimately i would say I don't ship it, though i still really enjoy content for it if i see it (it's pretty rare lol)

I have my own age headcanons in my head and while they may not be canon they have an effect on how I view the charas. I always saw pickles as the oldest and mf the second youngest, and I feel like from pickles' pov he views mf as more of a kid brother or something similar. Going back to the episode dethcamp, it kinda cements for me the idea that murderface is one of the 'kids' in the dysfunctional family that is dethklok lmfao.

But of course none of this is canon and people all have their own versions of the charas in their head, so I can't get mad at anyone for shipping it. And I even enjoy content for it from time to time. It can be cute!

What would have made you like it?

I'm not sure, tbh! My versions on the charas are kinda cemented in my head at this point, so i'm not sure if anything could change that...
