it's very funny to me that (in naddpod) brian murphy credits brennan lee mulligan as his daddy dm, and as the person who introduced him to dwarves as russians

and that's true and correct

but when brennan brought izzy in as a dwarf pc, izzy said "i am a dwarf who is jersey trash" and brennan said "you are correct"

idk where izzy is from, but murph is FOR SURE from new jersey

FEARS Magazine executive editor Joseph B Mauceri talks with writer/director/narrator Alex Dawson and fabricator/puppeteer Dan Diana about their New Jersey gothic musical THE DEVIL AND DAISY DIRT.

THE DEVIL AND DAISY DIRT is the haunting tale that is centered on the annual eating contest known as "I 8 the Devil," taking place at Lucille's Luncheonette affectionately referred to as the "Devil's Diner." The waitress, Daisy Dirt, is taking out the trash and stumbles upon a peculiar sight out by the dumpster. Lurking in the shadows behind it she encounters a wounded creature, adorned with strange wings and antlers, miraculously alive. A Piney palm reader named Effie enlightens Daisy as to what her future with the creature might be. Armed with an arcane piece of muscle meat discovered in a basement game locker, Daisy embarks on a risky mission to a portal that will open above the Apple Pie Hill fire tower after a midnight lightning strike and save the manifested beast.

THE DEVIL AND DAISY DIRT is the spawn of Alex Dawson, Arlan Feiles and Dan Diana. The concept, based on the legend of the Jersey Devil, is Dawson’s yarn, parts creature feature, folk/blue-grass music, and narrated by Dawson himself. A creative writing teacher at Rutgers University, Dawson specializes in folklore and horror and has experience developing and executing programs other cultural events and live productions in the central Jersey area. Fabricator & puppeteer of the devil, Dan Diana, studied prosthetic make-up with the legendary Tom Savini and spent time in Hollywood working on films, the majority being Marvel movies. Diana and Dawson have collaborated on many other projects. Between their full daily schedules and prepping for future performances of THE DEVIL AND DAISY DIRT, I had the pleasure to speak with them both about their take on this Garden State legend with a Southern Gothic twang.

I'm sure I'm not the first to notice this, but the movie is like a live-action combination of Toy Story and Rise of the Guardians. It works but all I could think about was Andy saying "I don't wanna play with you anymore" and Jack Frost doing a backflip when he realized Jamie could see him 😭
