Developing a new product line is both thrilling and challenging. Almost all firms make the same faults during the process of new product development. Understanding the food product development challenges can aid in prevention of time delays and keep your project on track on time.
It is August 29, 2024 and McDonald’s Singapore had just released not one but two new variations of the classic McSpicy burger. I have mainly kept away from the McSpicy since it was introduced in Singapore in 1999 because just like name, it is over spicy for me. It is not nicknamed McLaoSai / McDiarrhea for nothing as quite a few customers get stomach upset due to the extra spiciness. Over the years, I have tried it a few more times and I have noticed that the heat level has since been adjusted down. So here I am, bringing you the reviews of the all-new Sweet BBQ McSpicy with Egg & Cheese and Sweet BBQ McSpicy with Chicken Bacon.

Went straight for the Sweet BBQ McSpicy with Egg & Cheese Special (S$8.90) that comes with the burger, Crisscut Fries and a soft drink which I changed to a small Ice Green Tea (topped up S$0.75). Opening the box, I can see the cutlet of fried chicken thigh, sitting on a fried egg topped with melty cheese, sweet BBQ crème sauce and ample crisp lettuce. All these are sandwiched between soft, glazed sesame seeds buns. First bite impression, crispy juicy chicken with plenty of the sweet and smoky sauce dripping all over my hands. That fiery heat is now more manageable, and I am finally enjoying it with the cheese and egg combo.
The next day, I ordered the Sweet BBQ McSpicy with Chicken Bacon Special (S$8.90) which lack the egg and cheese but comes with a few strips of chicken bacon. Topped up S$1.15 to change the gassy drink to a medium Ice Lemon Tea. I still get that crispy chicken thigh patty and smoky BBQ crème sauce with crisp lettuce. The bacon add a crunch factor to the crispy chicken thigh. Maybe adding on the bacon to the Sweet BBQ McSpicy with Egg & Cheese would make it an even better burger.
Bought mum the Extra Value Meal of Filet-O-Fish (S$5.50) with medium French fries and a small drink. She loves the fluffy soft buns with the fried fish fillet. She didn’t care for the drink, so I left it in the fridge and drank it the next day.

What ever you do don't think about Percy reading Estelle a little kid version of 'The Odyssey' because that's what Sally read to him but he doesn't want to scare her. Don't imagine Sally looking on with guilt in her eyes cus she HAD to read him the real one so he knew what to expect. Don't think about Sally looking down on her little girl with tears in her eyes cus she doesn't need to worry about snakes in her bed or teachers being Cyclopes. Don't think of Sally seeing Estelle with Paul and having to leave the room cus when Percy was that age they had Gabe. Don't think of the unimaginable guilt that Sally must feel for being relieved that Estelle's biggest battle at 16, is her Dad being her teacher. And whatever you do don't think about Percy feeling like an outsider in his own family even though he gets constantly reassured that he's part of it and loved.
The mattress cleaning people today were very lovely and efficient. They said the pee stain from Leeloo probably wouldn’t come out but it would be sanitized and deodorized.
We had a good chat about video games, they saved me $20 cause they liked me, and the stain came out. I’m so looking forward to sleeping in my bed again tonight, cause it’ll be fully dry well before bedtime.
there has to be a better term than plant-based. it seems like such a cop out. like it doesn't guarantee something is vegan, if that was the case they would label it vegan right? seems like a phrase to invoke veganism but leave wiggle room for contaminates and non-plant derived additives because, well, it's plant based, not 100% entirely composed of plant material. like the phrase is obviously completely unregulated and linguistically roasted vegetables with butter added are still plant based. a vegetable broth risotto with bits of pancetta is still like 90% plants. what does it mean. if it's vegetarian or vegan just write that
a November photo dump to celebrate 1k followers! /// atm I'm trying to get my shit together and I'm always super motivated to study when I'm active on studyblr bc I need to study to have something to post about lol
Samama is looking into the Magnus protocol :pogchamp:
I mean, I’d be curious too having heard about the Magnus Institute then seeing a reference to a protocol.
Gwen being “trapped here forever,” I wonder if that’s literal or just a reference to Elias. 😂 Also would she be Elias & boat captain guy’s kid?? Asking the real questions.
Also, is Augustus’s voice a character from The Magnus Archives proper or a new voice actor/character?? Okay, new voice apparently!
Last Fortnite? /j
Okay so the violin is definitely paranormal or has paranormal origins.
Also the name Oliver strikes me as very familiar but idk why. 🤔
FAR AWAY MUSIC? ITS THE WAR MUSIC THINGY?? MAYBE THE HUNTING ONE?
“Unseen maestro of his own imagination.” Oh yeah no the music man is back in some form or it’s a new thing.
BRO JUST LEPT FOR IT??? Holy fuck. Wait did this thing take hold of his tutor, then the carriage guy??
A FLAME FIGURE??? THE FIRE LADY ENTITY??
This instrument is hot! 🔥
I wonder if the musical notes will burn the audience or something. 👀 Oh shit it’s musical talent for blood! ⚰️ Vampire ass instrument. Deal with the devil type shit.
Oh shit... he fed other people to his violin. I wonder if it ate him in the middle of the night because it got hungry & he hadn’t fed it.
HOOOOOOLY SHIT CANNIBALISM SONG!
“Feed my violin nephew.”
“I could disappear again, they would never know!” WHO & WHY??
Had wanted to buy the newest burger from McDonald’s Singapore on the day it was launched but mum called to say she had already bought dinner. So on Singapore’s 59th birthday, I decided to treat myself to the Ha Cheong Gai Chicken Burger Special (S$9.90) set meal with Crisscut Fries but proceeded to change my gassy drink to a medium Mocha Frappé (S$1.80). I also added an Apple Pie which was offered to me at S$1.40.
Yeah, two Ha Cheong Gai Chicken Burgers (虾酱鸡汉堡) because mum wants to try it too, so I got an ala carte burger for her at S$7.95. Maybe you are wondering what on earth is Ha Cheong Gai. In plain English, it means prawn paste chicken (虾酱鸡), a Singaporean fried chicken dish consisting of fried chicken wings in a batter with fermented shrimp paste. The burger form came with a crispy chicken patty and a prawn paste-infused dressing, so you get a savoury and umami-laden flavours. Between the sesame seeds buns, you also get crisp cucumber slices and lettuce. The Crisscut Fries is crispy and nice, especially when you dipped it into the garlicy chilli sauce that McDonald’s customized for us Singapore. Overall, I find this new burger a better eat than the Satay Burgers.
This morning, I went for a hike with my dog up the mountain, passing through forests of chestnut, beech, and oak trees.
There, I found the first late-summer flowers, like cyclamen and autumn colchicum, adding their delicate colors to the trails. It was particularly interesting to see the aconite vulparia in bloom, one of the most toxic plants in Europe.
When I got home, I decided to do an intense workout that pushed me to my limits. The effort was so great that I ended up with pain in my wisdom teeth. I really need to ease up on my body!
I tried to study some economics afterward, but between the pain and the exhaustion, I didn't accomplish much. Before dinner, I took my brother to get a new pair of shoes, and when we got back, we enjoyed a delicious homemade pizza with fresh ingredients with my family. It was nice to chat and laugh together. After dinner, my brother and I took the dog for a walk around the village.
