"I've lost my smile"
My happiness lies dormant,
in a cave somewhere beyond my reach.
I would love to call it back to me,
but sadness has stolen my speech.
Sometimes, I can hear it snoring,
or talking out loud in its sleep.
Other times, I miss it so much
that it makes me want to weep.
I hope someday to wake it up,
to rouse it from its rest.
But until then, I try to carry on,
and just keep hoping for the best.
