Captain Marvel, new Den-Mother (despite the fact he himself is a child even if the league isn’t aware of that fact) for the Young Justice team blinks. Klarion, so-called chaos lord, blinks back in the middle of a spell. 

He tilts his head. The other baby realms-being mirrors him. His own magic-fueled core pulses, and a chaos-core vibrates back. Oh. Ah. So that’s what’s happening. 

“They can’t play right now,” he explains to the barely-younger ancient-in-training, ignoring the team’s incredulous looks at his words with the practice of someone who had to deal with the voices of gods all the time. And Batman’s narrowing eyes. Scary. 

The chaos-core thrums in a distinct pouting-sensation, alongside a whine unique to young ghostlings. A whine that he replied with, even if only they could hear. Come play later, busy now, he insisted again, even if Klarion’s pouting was turning visible before it shifted to a scowl. 

“Fiiine…” And then the chaosling was gone, his familiar with him. Billy really wished he could join in disappearing, seeing the info-hungry look in the others’ eyes.

what's ur opinion on sukuna being a victim of chimerism and was gaslighted by medieval folks into believing that he ate his twin?

I was looking through my old Sukuna posts because I was sure I wrote something about that, but anyway...

1000% agree!

If we were in another manga where "having agency before birth/being born evil" was a thing, then Sukuna might've had a point saying he ate pre-Wasuke. But in JJK it's the opposite, here it's about chosing your own path, and an unborn child is categorically unable to chose anything. Sukuna would not have been able to "reject his fate of being a twin" at that stage of his life.

Though to be fair, he probably meant it in a more primal way: the drive to survive and evade death. But his wording of "rejecting" suggest that he thinks he had more agency as a preborn than he could've had. That was the second time reading JJK where I thought that Sukuna is full shit - full of shit in the sense that he believes things that don't hold up under scrutiny and betray his inner contradictions he holds on to.

Sukuna already told us that he was ostracizied as a child by society and that he hated the people that did that to him. Believing that he had agency to start cannibalism inside the womb is something that more than likely was imposed on him by said society as well. But just like his hatred, he couldn't let go of that believe and it shaped him into being an actual cannibal and so much more.

I would not call what he had chimerism, though. That's only on the genetic level and not something people back than could've found out. To make sense of his backstory, Sukuna would've needed to be a conjoined twin, or better said: a parasitic twin, with actual body parts of pre-Wasuke attached to his body.

Only then would "eating" his twin in utero make sense 1000 years ago: with actual evidence of that twin present in the form of its body hanging off on Sukuna in some form or fashion. Not only does this cover the popular retellings of the mythological Sukuna, it also explains his extra arms and mouth he has in JJK.

That's how I wrote him in one of my fics: Sukuna was born with his twin's arms under his own, his twin's legs above his hips and his twin's head inside his belly. Those appendages didn't grow with Sukuna, and stayed small and lifeless on his body, until he consumed and perfected cursed energy in such quantities that he transformed the arms and the mouth of his twin into working limbs. (He cut the legs off, though, those were too bothersome.)

So yeah, society saw a disabled child and cursed it immedeately, making Sukuna believe in things that weren't true... until they were.

the ladies are LOUD today.

the best thing about beekeeping is the drama. it’s been a game of thrones year for our hives already. hive #3 murdered their queen on the second day of her reign and then defected to hive #2. yesterday I drove an hour and a half north to pick up a replacement nuc for the abandoned hive. it was a real cute facility with a LOT of nice looking mead that I’m really looking forward to trying. driving back from Middle Of Nowhere: Hills N Mills Edition to Middle Of Nowhere: The Black Marsh in a diesel pickup truck with a medium iced black from dunks, my dawg, and a box fulla bees on a beautiful spring day probably added like a year to my life, I’m sure of it.

while I was moving the new hive #2 in I checked up on all the other hives and discovered something even more shocking. hive #10 has undergone civil war. about half of the swarm has evidently joined hive #5 (whose comb runneth over so hardcore for a brand new hive in may I needed to give them a second super already) and — even more scandalously — even though many stayed in #10, on the farthest side of the hive from the current queen, those who remain have secretly created five replacement queens that they will pit against each other in a fight to the death, in order to send the victor after the current monarch to kill her and usurp the throne. this dark and solemn ritual is known as a supercedure and it’s the first time I’ve seen it in real life. I’m on the edge of my seat honestly — in the next couple weeks I’ll find out if the coup is successful and the new queen is established. as soon as I see new brood I’ll call it a success… and I’ll steal some babies from hive #5 to recoup some of the losses because as we all know Larvae Ain’t Loyal.

honestly talking and thinking about bees makes me feel like a lunatic because they are such interesting animals, I’m so so so lucky I get to work with them, and I really want to get very good at this (I’m mid at best at this point lol).

modern got au in which asha is a "teen parent"

or more accurately, asha and theon have a much larger age gap, 10/15-ish years, type of age gap (she's at least 18/19 and theon's only like 4/5), and in a series of freak events, their lives are turned on its head.

their brothers were dead. their mother and father were ruled incompetent, the former left a shell of herself after the loss of her sons, no longer able to care for her remaining children, the latter was never a father to begin with and he didn't seem to have any wish to become one now.

she was an adult by law, meaning she was free from the hell that was the system. her kid brother - the one who smiled at her for seemingly no reason, the one who crawled into her bed when thunder rattled the house, the brother who held her hand on their rare family outings - was not.

she couldn't leave him there, even if she wanted to, even if it would make her life so much easier. she wouldn't abandon him like the rest of their shitty family. he was blood for fucks sake, she'd die before she let's him get taken away from her and given away to strangers to be used and exploited or treated like a shelter puppy to be pitied and fawned over.

cue asha fighting for custody of her baby brother, doing whatever it takes to be deemed a suitable guardian, and the two of them taking on the world together.

more thoughts:

they have to find an apartment cause they can't afford to keep their family home. moving into the cheapest place they can find with only the stuff they can fit in asha's truck, sharing an air matress and eating off of a coffee table while watching movies they rented from the library.

asha cleaning her brother up before his first day at his new school, trying to get him to look suitable, but not really knowing what suitable means for a kid going into kindergarten/first grade

theon comforting his sister when she gets overwhelmed with it all, doing his best to ease her tears. the night ending with them both curled around each other, just two scared little kids trying their best.

asha fighting anyone she has to to keep custody of theon, whether it be the social worker, the judge, people who called cps to report her. she doesn't care, no one will take away her baby brother.

asha taking theon to work with her (she works in a boat shop cause she already knows what she's doing) and having to keep him entertained while she works so they don't get sent home.

their first christmas/birthdays by themselves. theon putting together gifts at school (finger paintings or paper mache or something of the like) and asha cherishing it forever. asha spending all the money left to her name each time to get him something nice so eh can feel like a normal kid.

theon doing sports in school (little league or something) and asha making sure she goes to every damn game, being the loudest in the stands.

asha getting more and more used to being physically affectionate with her brother at time goes on. before everything she'd tense up when he'd hug her legs or hold her hand, but now she scoops him up like a rag doll, ruffles his hair, kisses his forehead, without a second thought.
