Dietitian vs doctor: a neverending bickering

Mun Ari: I saw this post of @kindan-no-kanojo regarding what kind of doctor our ocs would be. Now! I'll take this chance to make some headcanons regarding this AU:

*Tiny note before we start: most thing stated here were made regarding my personal opinion and/or experience, please don't take them seriously or by heart ^^*

Yes, Ari is a dietitian. Yes, it isn't exactly a doctor, but a dietitian is within the health sciences~.

No, a dietitian isn't exactly the same as a nutritionist.

Let me explain it: dietitians are recognized as health professionals and they use specialized diets as treatments for their patients. They have knowledge in various pathologies and know how to prescribe diets to complement the patient's treatment. A nutritionist on the other hand may have some basic knowledge on nutrition (some may have taken a course) BUT are not recognized as health professionals.

“All dietitians are nutritionists, but not all nutritionists are dietitians,” explains registered dietitian Amber Sommer, RD, LD.

A little cultural fact now: this explanation I gave you is in terms of the USA, but here in Mexico is the other way around, can you believe it? [Mun Ari: I studied and I'm a certified nutritionist which is the equivalent of a dietitian in the USA]

Now that that's settled: Ari is a registered dietitian (according to what I found it works the same in Japan). So yeah: she's a health professional.

We know that Kino is a Psychosomatic physician which, and I cite: "provides a comprehensive approach to the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral needs of the patient". So yeah, it is in the psychiatry area.

Now, it is well known that sometimes (not always) is quite common for doctors to feel… a little above others. [Mun Ari: trust me, I've been there and experienced it first hand, but not everone were like that ^^]

As both professions are in the health sector, they of course met in college. I can imagine they did in one of those in common subjects within the first semesters ^^ (you know, those were various careers share some classes since they are in the same area)

The "competence" or "frictions" happen naturally and they are initiated by doctors… 9 out of 10 times.

Ari was just, you know, existing and happened to share the same subject and classroom as Kino. Being a doctor student he was started with the passive-aggressive comments/jokes and sometimes it got in Ari's nerves.

You know me, so I'll go with the rivals/enemies to lovers prompt on this one since it is what it is~

If Ari had to thank Kino is that those comments forced her to push herself even more on her studies, so she can defend herself when he wants to brag how "his career was harder than hers".

Call it bad luck, but they spent the first semesters in every common medicine class together. People knew it was Kino messing with her and she was only defending herself. Everyone was making bets on who'll get better grades in the exams or projects and secretly they ship them together.

However, nothing really happened and they actually got to spend more time together UNTIL their internships. They got in the same hospital and that was hilarious to those that knew their story or saw it develop from the beginning.

They worked in the same area and in the same team within the same patients. They tried to keep it professional, but we know Kino and he can be annoying :). They both got scolded once in a while. Residents, nurses, doctors, dietitians and even patients found their dynamic amusing and will find it delightful as long as it wouldn't interfere with their work and affect others (specially patients).

Ari earned Kino's respect after various times she showed just what she was capable of. Ari admired doctors and all health professionals in general, but she felt happy when he actually said it to her. Then their attitude towards each other improved.

Inevitably they started considering each other as friends and valuable teammates, knowing they had each other's back. Dietitians and doctors work together, they just need to learn to do so.

Yet, like in the original timeline, Kino fell for her first… and harder lol. He'll get possessive of her, he doesn't like when she is paired with other male residents or interns and is specially cautious of doctors. It was hard for him to keep an eye on her when they were rotating on different areas, but he always managed. It was tiring and Ari at first couldn't really understand why he would do it.

Of course it got into a point where he declared his feelings to her and Ari became aware of them and made sense to her his attitudes. Ari didn't answer his proposal immediately as she didn't see him as a lover, but as a friend.

After that, Kino made it his mission to conquer her and long story short he did and became a couple. It brought certain peace to kino as now that they had the title, everyone would know they're dating and some may respect it.

So yey! Health professionals AU for Arino came to me on my own internship and Idk why I forgot to post at least the commission lol.

If you wonder about the rest of the crew: Naomi I already stated is a gynecologist, I can see Yuri as a nurse or maybe nothing related to health since he wouldn't be able to deal with that and Kino (let him rest already!) and Sabine I can totally see her as a cardiologist or maybe an anesthesiologist :D

He would use Light Snow to his advantage in hide and seek, tickle you half to death, everything! However, he’s always sure to make up for it after with a sweet treat, or cuddles.

2　 ﹒　Very keen on nap time, but not strict, he’s yet to fully grasp that whole trait yet. If you don’t want to sleep, he’ll get super conflicted! Yes… you should sleep, but if you don’t WANT to, there’s not much he can do, is there? However, if him napping right by your side is what convinces you, he’s willing to put work and duties away for a while, juuusssttt so his baby gets some rest.

3　 ﹒　A big brother! He would be content just letting you watch him scroll on his phone for a few minutes if that’s what you’d like, he would leave you money to spend on yourself once you’re big, everything!

Mun Ari: ahhhh thank you so much for your kind words dear!! They are all great questions!! And I do have given them a thought!

Yui's relationship with my girls:

Yui and Ari are good friends. They used to spend more time together, but since Ari moved in with Kino they now only spend time every once in a while and only while in school sadly :(. They keep in good terms and sometimes they write each other letters. As they grow up, Ari and Yui are still friends and their respective clans have a strong alliance thanks to that. They keep in touch and one particular child of Arino sees and adores Yui as an auntie... I won't say who~

Yui and Naomi: they have met and mostly spend time together when Ari is present. Ari introduced them, they're 'a friend of a friend' basicallly(? They are also fellow rulers of their clans further in the future. Naomi does find Yui adorable and cute and enjoys spoiling both of them when the three are together ❤️. Naomi is like an older sister! Naomi has a weakness for cute, kind and 'defenseless' girls (plus points if they're shorter than her jijij)

Yui and Sabine: yeah... Sabine is a difficult person. Sabine doesn't find her worth of her time, but her father does force her to treat her with respect at least since she's not only the Eve but also the queen of the vampire clan. Let's remember that the Vibora clan only recognizes as leaders of the bat clan the triplets, so in my AU Ayato becomes the ruler and therefore takes Yui as his wife/queen, so the Vibora clan respects and supports her. Sabine isn't that mean towards her, just doesn't find her interesting.

Yui and Amelie: The wolf clan mostly remains neutral overall the political aspects. Amelie is very shy and soft spoken, so she doesn't interact or socialize actively. Amelie does respect Yui for her being Eve and as a fellow queen. They have had their tea parties both alone and with the rest of the queens, and they share various interests in common. Ari, Amelie, Naomi and Yui have had their own private tea parties or gatherings over the years and Amelie does like both Ari and Yui. Amelie is younger than Naomi, so they doesn't know each other for long compared to Naomi and Sabine for example. However, Ari and Amelie understand each other for being shy and introverts, so they have each other's back. Amelie is pen pals with Yui and they write each other letters once in a while as well and I find that cute! Amelie once took both Yui and Ari on her back as a wolf when they were pregnant when they felt tired 🥹.

Love interests:

As for Sabine: after a lot of thought, I came to realize the most logic thing to happen is for her to have an arranged marriage (of her choosing of course) with a noble Vibora man. Either as a favor for his family supporting her ascending to the throne or merely for political reasons. I did imagine that the man she ends up marring won't be either a super soft-loving husband nor a jerk one, he'll be somewhere in between and overall Sabine will have a nice and decent marriage. His husband won't have the power or influence of Sabine, but will be what Sabine needs and that's all there's to ask for in Sabine's case at least ^^.

As for Amelie: I'm not very sure ^^'. Depends in which context I might need/want her. In UTDC, she's underage and hasn't had her debut. So, the thought of marriage plus her shy personality makes it for her and her parents to seek her a proper suitor. However! I do plan on her to be able to meet a nice young man who'll love her just as she is. I even thought of ***** from UTDC [spoiler lol] since they'll make a great couple 🥹 or maybe someone I came up with like in Sabine's case, I haven't fully decided yet jijij~. Within the actual timeline... I don't find the idea of shipping her with a diaboy crazy though 👀. If I had to choose a diaboy as you suggested: some good options could be Shu or Azusa though. They are nice enough and good prospects for Amelie~. Shu could be more likely since Amelie’s parents might prefer someone of noble status better for many reasons, but if Amelie were to fall in love with Azusa por example I can see them changing their minds if Amelie were to speak out! I like how these options sound 🙊🙈.

Breaking news: Ari has another suitor!? :0

As a second love interest? If that's what you mean the answer is: In UTDC AU? Yes. In the normal timeline? No.

Let's talk about that second love interest: Isaac. As you may know or remember, was Ari's crush for almost 5 years. They were classmates and got along nicely, but Ari never had the courage to declare her feelings towards him. In the end, she ended up getting hurt by baseless rumors of him starting to date some other girl.

In UTDC AU, as a manhwa inspired fanfic to me... you need a second male lead/love interest, don't you think? LOL. So! I took Isaac once again to be the second ml~. I haven't gotten into that part yet, but I can't wait to develop this messy love square I'm planning for UTDC >:D.

But otherwise, no: Ari doesn't have any second love interest or suitor in the normal timeline 🙊

The way that abilities are percieved in Bungou stray dogs is so facinating to me because its clear that they’re painted by people in a very negative light, you can even imply that its considered shameful to have one.

That is so intriguing. The war and the ability users in it caused other gifted people to realise they’d be seen as a threat. It effected everyone, and still does by the main timeline of bsd. You can understand why the Port Mafia went off the rails, because they had more skill users joining them. It makes the Agency’s dynamic so much more serious, if that’s the only place where they can feel safe using their gifts.

Bsd Theories that I don’t believe

Discussing the "Naomi isn't real theory" and "dazai can't die".

Ppl who want to Baby atsushi.

Dazai and chuuya at 15.

Including: Naomi, Tanizaki, atsushi, chuuya and dazai.

I accidentally put this Clip here but I wanted smt else, how the hell do I remove it???

So I saw this theory that Naomi isn't a real person and Tanizaki created her with his ability.

But why would he create an illusion of her?

I read that it was because Naomi is death and he couldn’t handle it, so to not go insane he created the illusion of her.

I do get why people think that she isn't real but here is why I think she is real.

So first we should look into the work of the real Tanizaki Jun'ichirō: the irl Tanizaki published a book with the Titel "Naomi" Naomi was a character in the book, a very importierent one. The story basically follows Naomi and the main character who is a man (and I forgot his name) they met at a Restaurant (if I remember correctly) and Naomi is a waitress there, he falls inlove with her and they became boyfriend and girlfriend but to not be judged from others (bc they Aren't married and it was back in the day) they just said they are siblings but they are NOT siblings. I think in the book they also started to live togehter (again if I remember correctly).

In the book Kirako Haruno also Shows up who is also a character in bsd and is mostly known as Fukuzawas Assistent. In the book she is (again if I remember correctly) an stage actress.

So Haruno and Naomi are both not acual people who lived in real live but characters based on the work of Tanizaki.

It's normal in bsd that some of the characters Aren't inspired from real life and are characters from books from the irl authors. Or are ppl who had something to do with them.

So like I said the "Naomi isn't real theory" is a theory I don't really believe, why?

Well first of if Naomi was an Illusion created by his ability then why would he worry all the time about her ? You guys remember how he was ready to kill higuchi when she almost killed her? If she was truly just an illusion created by him then he would have known that she wouldn't die and she wouldn’t have been bleeding from her attack.

We also saw him being worried about her in season 4.

It's just like with Elis, when mori and Elis (whom is his ability) fighted with Fukuzawa and mori basically lost and Elis was disappearing he wasn't worried or something because he knew nothing would happend to her.

Or when he and Elis almost died in the car that was meant to kill them Elis saved him in time and he also didn't ask if she is alright he knew she was because she is his ability, so he naturally knows that she is alright.

But it was never like that with Jun'ichirō and Naomi. He was very often worried and she did things that suprised him like the time when Higuchi almost killed her he was taken aback.

While I do recognize that it also could be that he believe that so much that she is alive and well so he subconciously made her so "real" thats why she is injured sometimes.

I think they must have meet in school or a little before.

Asagiri properly wanted to add his work in this way and it was mostly meant to be a funny way to include the work of Tanizaki.

Was it really funny? Not really.

Is it a little strange that he did that like this? Yeah it is.

And also:

Jun'ichirō is obviously unconfortable with all the physical Touch Naomi gives him in public. He often tells her something like

"Naomi we're in public not now" and she dosen't really Listen to him. Which makes it even more uncomfortable to watch because he’s often very uncomfortable with it. She is definitely overstepping a boundary with that which isn’t okay. We always see her being very close or having her arms around him but that isn’t what he minds it’s that she is doing too much and also touching him too often on purpose to get this reaction of him being nervous.

I really don’t know why asagiri did that to Naomi.

However, we can clearly see that they both really care for each other (even though they can be very uncomfortable to watch).

I do admit its strange that she talks in 3 person but it’s only when she is with him.

I think both are very good characters but often a pain when they are together, separate from each other they are definitely more comfortable to watch not only because they aren’t touching each other but also because we get to see a very positive side on both of them and that they also care for there fellow friends around them.

Also in real life there was an actress for Naomi whom was Tanizakis sister in law.

What is funny is that the irl chuuya, at some point, fell in love with her and called her his Ideal wome in the poem he wrote about her.

Yep He even wrote a poem about her (thats kind of cute tbh)

So would Naomi be chuuyas ideal women in the bsd universe? Well... I don't know but I guess so.

I also wanted to say that I think It's pretty obvious that Tanizaki and Naomi Aren't siblings.

And I'm 100% sure that there not siblings.

BTW : The real Tanizaki was WILD he tried to rizz up his DAUGHTER IN LAW and he had a Sex game (I can't) with his sister in law ( Naomis actress) and his wife...

Also I don't think dazai can't die or that he is the book.

Listen if dazai was on that one Thing last year where some rich ppl tried to go to the Titanic I swear he would survived that somehow but I don't think he is unkillable.

When he was shoot by fyodors Assassine he was injured and could have died but fyodor didn't plan for dazai to Die, I think he knew atsushi was there to save him.

Also remember how chuuya shoot him in the shoulder? Well that was unplaned and he was really pissed (chuuya) so he took revenge so no, dazai also dosen't know "everything" and literlly not everything is in dazais "perfect plan" and chuuya could have acually died in the 'Prison break arc' when he and fyodor where " drowning " And I'm pretty sure that dazai didn't tell chuuya abt that, that he and fyodor will take a swim in that strange water they were in and yosano, kenji and Tanizaki could have died too while he was away (how did they even survived that long? I guess there plot armor is pretty good too)

If chuuya didn't pull that "one trick that they did all the time back then" with the gun shoot he could have really died so yeah.

And if chuuya really was a Vampire back then fyodor could have easily killed him tbh.(how did Dostoevsky didn't get that chuuya isn't a Vampire I thought he had an almost or same IQ as Ranpo ?)

And why I don't think he is the book or that he knows everything? Well in the one chapter where he found out about fyodor Dostoevskys Real ability he looked so suprised so if he knew about everything he would have know that all along.

(Dostoevsky that mother f**ker is the real unkillable man lol)

(I'm tired of hearing ppl say "it was dazais plan all along thats why they didn't die" like what-?😭🙏)

Anyway lets also talk about how the fandom wants to baby atsushi + the sexualisation of Chuuya and dazai when they were 15.

I think it’s SO problematic that the fandom is basiclly sexulaising chuuya and dazai when they are 15.

Sorry but if your older then 16 you shouldn't be thinking that when they where 15 that they where "hot" or whatever. Dazai is shown to be very unstable at 15 and chuuya dosen't even know who he is at 15 because he had zero memory's of his past.

Only after stormbringer he knew who he was and what happend to him and alot of traumatic stuff happend to him and by the way just bc you know your past dosen't mean you now know who you are.

He was 16 in stormbringer and still had to process what happend to him which was btw alot.

Remember the one Clip where he shot that guy and keep shooting even though he was already dead? Well, many find that hot.

However, dazai (in the anime) is speculated to have had a Breakdown and you can notice that when he said: this is more then you deserve

And his eyes where very dark in that moment and the artist of bsd herself said that the eyes are a reflection of there mental well being.

In the novel it was : what a luxury!

Anyways, what I also wanted to point out is that It's so SO weird that ppl want to BABY atsushi who is an 18 boy, okay he might be come across as naive but that dosen't mean he is stupid or acually naive.

It is the same with Armin of aot.

He had a VERY traumatic past (man literlly Has PTSD )and anyone who has been trough abuse is naturally a little more mature then ppl there age or knows how to take care of themselfs and while I do recognize that atsushi wants acuall love and affection from others I don't think making him seen like a Baby and wanting to Baby him is what he wants lol.

He isn't a Baby who can't take care of himself so why are yall acting Like he is?

Also atsushi is ruthless and he can be really mean.

All the ppl who say : atsushi would NEVER say anything mean!!!

Yeah he would never with YOU (🫵) but he would with akutagawa whom he lets his inner mean side out and is basiclly letting him 90% of there interactions very much known that he isn't quit found of him.
