Mystrade as Parents
Greg gained custody of his daughters two years after the divorce from his ex-wife
Mycroft had always wanted children but knew it would most likely never be possible because of his sexuality
Mycroft spoils them
(auntie) Molly comes around to babysit when Myc and Greg have date nights.
They adopt their son Wilfred when the girls are finishing high school
Greg's eldest daughter, Charlotte, is starting to train in the police force.
Greg's second daughter, Grace, becomes a lawyer.
Mycroft is very proud of them both and definitely doesn't cry at their graduation
A/N: I made Greg's daughters names up. Idk if they have official names, just tell me if they do
@sarcasstic-jpmvr any more ideas??

Mystrade Monday 1.0 #42 - "For the hundredth time, I'm not your babysitter."
@mystradepromptsandscenarios
On AO3
483 words - Rating G

"For the hundredth time, I'm not your babysitter."
Sherlock stood in front of Greg and replied cockily, "But you are, aren't you? What my dear brother asked you to do when he asked you to keep me occupied is a sort of babysitting."
Greg sighed, "I mean, I'm not Rosie's babysitter!"
John stepped between the two men in a pleading tone, "Please, Greg. Just for tonight."
Greg sighed again, "That's what you've been telling me for the last two nights. I like Rosie very much, but has it occurred to you that Mycroft and I might like to spend the evening together?"
Sherlock interjected, "Oh come on, like you've got something planned."
"Sherlock..." John sighed, "You're not helping."
Greg, tired of their bickering, interrupted, "That's all right, John, I'll take care of Rosie, if only to get the two of you off my back."
Moments later, Rosie in his arms, Greg closed the door on the two men.
He turned the little girl around in his arms and said softly, "Here we are, just the two of us, honey. We're going to wait for Uncle Mycroft. He'll be so surprised... or not."
The little girl babbled back as Greg sat down on the sofa. Then he bounced her in his arms, which made Rosie laugh, so Greg did it again.
A quarter of an hour later, while he was having fun with the little girl, he didn't hear the apartment door open and was surprised to hear Mycroft's voice say softly, almost with admiration in his voice, "You're good at this."
Greg smiled and took the tired little girl into his arms.
Mycroft came and sat down beside them, putting his arm around Greg's shoulder and watching fondly as the little girl fought sleep and finally gave in, burying her head in Greg's neck.
Greg dropped his head to Mycroft's chest and Mycroft kissed his hair.
He then whispered so as not to wake the little girl, "I'm sorry, I couldn't refuse again."
Mycroft shrugged and replied, "Don't say anything, my brother's been insufferable again."
Greg nodded. Mycroft continued, "Then don't apologise, and besides, Rosie isn't the most troublesome of children."
He gently brushed aside one of the little girl's blonde curls that had fallen across her face, and the little girl continued to sleep, unperturbed.
He added, "Let's take advantage of this quiet moment to rest, after all it's not too different from what we would have done tonight."
Greg chuckled softly in reply before leaning back a little more against Mycroft.
In the sweetness of the moment, Mycroft found himself wishing that one day it wouldn't be Rosie in Gregory's arms, but their own child. For the first time, the thought of becoming a father didn't frighten him.
He knew he wouldn't be alone.
Leaning his cheek against Greg's hair, he sighed with contentment at the thought of a possible future.

#132 - A secret fear
(one shot, 221 words, mystrade)
Summary: Mycroft needs Greg's help ASAP!!
“You called?” Lestrade enters the flat with a cocky smile, the one that always sent butterflies directly to Mycroft’s stomach.
In a panic, Mycroft jumps on Greg, “Yes! I’ve got a problem… and I need your help!”
“Oh, that looks serious…” The policeman's face turns grey. “Something happens to one of them?”
“No, no, sorry… it’s just that I was here drinking tea with Sh…” He quickly rephrases “I was ARGUING with my brother when they both left quickly for a case.”
“Okay… and this is a problem because?” A confused Greg asks.
“Ms Hudson is not there and…”
“Yes… and…”
“They left me with… the baby!”
Greg, unable to control himself, start laughing merrily at Mycroft expense. “Come on, Uncle Mycroft!, she's only a toddler!”
“Children are like dangerous animals… I am not well equipped to deal with a… baby panther.” Mycroft mutters, ashamed of admitting a secret flaw.
“Don’t worry Myc’, I’ll help you! Children are not that difficult…” He turns his gaze towards the back of the room where Rosie was asleep in a portable cot. “But for now… there’s nothing to do except wait for her to wake up…” He pushes Mycroft onto the sofa playfully, sitting beside him before he starts kissing him.
“Ohhhhhh…” Mycroft sighs… “I think I may finally see some perks to babysitting…”
If you are super-enthusiast and don’t want to wait to read the 221 ‘221b’ in that series in order: The sum of their secrets

“How d’you know it was me?”
[Mystrade. 1000 words. Humour and fluff.]

It was upon John Watson's birthday that The Incident occurred.
Mycroft had offered to pay for Sunday lunch at a country pub in Beaconsfield - a fond gesture, in honour of the recent pleasantness between himself and Sherlock. His brother's new-found paternal inclinations had done him credit. Relations had been excellent since Rosamund's birth, and Mycroft was eager for it to continue.
He'd even been entrusted with his niece's care once a week - Tuesday evenings at Uncle Mycroft's house. He'd initially taken on the responsibility with some small amount of concern, but now found it by far one of the most pleasant parts of his week. Rosamund was a charming child, quick and headstrong; her addition to their lives was very much worth celebrating.
The country pub to which they were going had a deservedly excellent reputation - a cosy inn, comfortably out of the way, with a selection of ales that varied colourfully from week-to-week.
They had a children's menu for Rosamund, too. Now three, Mycroft's niece was very selective in her tastes. She'd picked up Sherlock's tendency to insist upon things with some vigour.
Sadly, she'd picked up a few other things as well.
Just as they were leaving for the pub, as Sherlock carefully fastened her into her puffy purple coat, the toy elephant she was intent on taking slipped from her tiny grasp. It hit the floor with a clunk, at which point its head became sadly dislodged from its body.
Rosamund looked down at it - and in a clear and exasperated voice, sighed,
"Fuckin' ‘ell."
Mycroft nearly swallowed his tongue.
John spat out the mouthful of cold coffee he'd been finishing, while Sherlock blinked in staggered astonishment.
A loud, delighted laugh sounded from the stairs. "Brilliant."
Sherlock recovered his senses first. As he fitted Rosie's elephant back together for her, flushing, he called,
"I'm not sure 'brilliant' is the correct response to the situation, Lestrade!"
"Are you kidding?" Greg said. He reappeared in the sitting room, holding his car keys and grinning from ear-to-ear. "That was fantastic. I wish we'd been filming it... Christ, I'm gonna treasure that forever..."
"And what other 'fantastic' vocabulary have you taught our three-year-old, might I ask?" Sherlock demanded, annoyed.
Greg gave him a startled look. "How d'you know it was me?"
Sherlock scoffed. "The London accent was a fairly reliable clue, for a start. And need we mention your proclivity for bad language?"
"Whoa, whoa..." Greg held up his hands. "Steady on. London accent? She said two words, mate. You can't judge accent from that. And I hardly ever babysit her, do I? Once in a blue moon. My hands are clean in this."
"And who else do you suggest would have taught her that particular turn of phrase?" Sherlock asked him, furious.
Mycroft drew a silent breath.
Greg held Sherlock's gaze for a few seconds. He thought about it, poking his tongue into his cheek.
Then he said,
"Alright... it was me. Slipped out a few weeks ago - stubbed my toe on the door - I didn't think she'd heard me."
"Well, clearly she did," said Sherlock. "And now our toddler has the lexical inclinations of a docker. She's only just mastered the simple past tense, Lestrade. Now you've enlightened her in the fine art of profanity."
"Right... sorry, Sherlock. Sorry, John - I'll get my mouth washed out with soap when we get to the pub."
"See that you do," Sherlock snapped, hoisting Rosie up into his arms. "I knew you would be a poor influence. Your irresponsibility staggers me. Perhaps you could try following Mycroft's example more closely? At least she has one suitable role model..."
He swept out onto the landing, head held high.
John, fighting a smile tooth-and-nail, gave Greg a look of mock severity, then followed.
In the silence that followed, Mycroft screwed his toes tightly into his shoes. He'd somehow managed not to blush. It came flooding forth now, flashing across his face as he watched Lestrade turn to him slowly.
Greg raised both eyebrows, and waited.
Mycroft bit down into his lip. "Thank you," he mumbled.
Greg couldn't hold in a grin.
"You owe me," he said. "Big time."
"Entirely understandable."
"Wouldn't do for them to discover that responsible Uncle Mycroft has been enlightening Miss Rosie in 'the fine art of profanity', would it?"
Oh, dear lord. Mycroft's insides squirmed.
"I knew that she'd heard," he said, pained. "But I truly didn't think she'd remember... heaven help me, it was weeks ago..."
"What happened?"
"I only stepped into my study for a moment to monitor my e-mails... I found a message to say a junior clerk had wiped a critical file, and somehow wiped the back-ups as well. I was - naturally somewhat annoyed... then, when I turned around, I discovered that Rosamund had followed me... she - presumably heard my... ah, outburst."
"And picked up some choice new words, huh?" Greg hooked his thumbs in his belt, amused. "Well, Mycroft... that's what happens when you're a 'suitable role model'..."
"I'm so sorry," Mycroft said. "I - should have revealed myself. It was wicked of me to let you - ... it's just been very pleasant, to be getting on so well with Sherlock after all these years - and Rosamund is very dear to me, and I'd hate to - ..."
"Oi," Greg said, softly. His eyes sparkled. “It’s fine. I don't mind. Uncle Greg can take the fall on this one. John's clearly not too fussed... I'll just buy him a pint at the pub. Problem solved."
Mycroft's flush deepened. "And I shall buy you one."
Greg winked.
"Buy me one next week," he said. "When we're there on our own. I need a clear head today, if I'm gonna act like I've never seen the place before." He shook his head, grinning. "All these lies I keep up for you, Holmes..."
Mycroft's heart squeezed happily.
"I'm - very grateful for your trouble, Lestrade."
Greg's eyes shone - deep and playful and dark.
"C'mon," he said. He jangled his car keys. "Let's see if you can act like you've never seen the back-seat of my car."

Mystrade Prompt
After Greg and Mycroft adopt their first child they both worked full time jobs so they each took turns in taking her to work with them. When it was Greg’s turn he carried her around on his hip the whole time bringing her to all the crime scenes and shielding her eyes from anything too gory, everyone at the station adored her and doted on her constantly they each took turns babysitting her when Greg was busy. And when it was Mycroft turn he took her to the office where she sat on his desk drawing pretty pictures on boring and unimportant documents while he typed away on his laptop, they ate lunch together and she make quite the mess but he didn’t mind. And when they all got home they would all sir in the sofa together watching Disney movies until they all fell asleep.

Fanfic rec. Parentlock!
And here’s a new rec! I must say I love kid fics. Not sure why, but well… Now, a lot of this are post S4, but some aren’t so... be warned!
Anyway, I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I did ;)
DaisyFairy
Author’s summary: Sherlock is babysitting when John comes home early. When John overhears Sherlock telling Rosie a story it will change their relationship forever.
Additional notes: tooth rotting fluff! sweet and cute!
Father's Joy
Johnlock, complete, 4300 words.
Author’s summary: John Watson is moving back into Baker Street, but he's not coming alone. He's bringing his daughter with him and Sherlock is thrilled. And terrified. Because he's never been good with people, with loving them. What if he can't love this little girl? After all, she's the daughter of the woman who almost took everything from him. But then, she's part of John Watson, too. And there's never been a part of John Sherlock couldn't love. (Well, questionable moustaches aside.)
Additional notes: I adore baby fics. Don’t like them that much IRL, but I do in fics.
If Clouds Should Win
Mystrade, side johnlock, WIP
Author’s summary: When returning to London five years after being convinced to adopt a child, Mycroft has to deal with his ex-boyfriend, said ex-boyfriend's cheating wife (again), and his brother's very obvious crush on an army doctor.
Or: Parentlock where Mycroft and Greg are awkward exes being forced to work together, and Sherlock and John don't know how to talk to each other.
Additional notes: so many feelings!! Mycroft is too adorable for this world!
A Weird Place
Johnlock, complete, 7600 words.
Author’s summary: John is always there. It's weird. It's brilliant.
Additional notes: post S4, the happy ending we were hoping for.
Bloody Precious
Johnlock, complete, 1300 words.
Author’s summary: “Only twenty-three days old and this is already the worst day of his life. We must be absolute shit at this.”
Additional notes: adorableness. Also Mary doesn’t exist.
Find Where Love Hides
Johnlock, complete, 1500 words.
Author’s summary: Sherlock is certain that he knows everything about babies. He knows their brain development patterns. He knows when babies typically start teething and crawling and walking and speaking. The information has been invaluable on a surprisingly large number of cases. Most memorably, a kidnapping case that ended with Sherlock deducing that the child had recently started walking and the mother was unaware. The child had walked away from the house and was sleeping nestled among the tall grass and wild flowers that covered the property. He hadn't even need to see the scene. When John moves back into 221B with his infant daughter, Sherlock concludes that he knows absolutely nothing about babies.
Additional notes: post S4, cute but painful at points.
And that’s it for now! You can find other recs here:
Misunderstandings part 1 and part 2.

mystrade babysitting rosie for johnlock though
greg takes her at the door. sherlock’s packed an entire travelling bag for her, just for one afternoon. he’s having a minor meltdown over leaving her, but john’s pretty chill. he hands rosie calmly over to greg and puts a soothing hand on sherlock’s back and guides him back to the cab.
‘sherlock, we’ve been through this love. she’ll be fine. i promise.’
‘what if mycroft CORRUPTS her though, john, wait, did we pack the second spare dummy?’
'yes, sweetheart. and the third and fourth as well. and yes, you triple-sterilised them all. come on.’
greg cuddles her as he waves goodbye. she coos happily and hits his chin with her baby fist.
mycroft won’t take her, to start with. but greg tells him reassuringly that he’ll get the hang of it, and gently plops rosie into his arms and goes to make a cuppa.
mycroft warily inspects this little creature in his arms. she looks sternly back at him and says 'blllb.’
when greg comes back rosie’s drooling on mycroft’s silk tie. she chews gummily on her lil hand and gazes up at him with big solemn eyes.
and mycroft's looking down at her like he can't quite believe she's real. 'her hands are so small,' he says.
and then he looks up and greg's grinning at him with his eyes crinkled at the edges, and mycroft clears his throat and says quickly, 'that is, she seems quite fully functional, as far as babies go.'
but greg knows what he means, and he shakes his head and says, 'for someone with such a big brain you can be completely ridiculous sometimes, mycroft,' and he smooths his hand over rosie’s downy lil head and kisses mycroft's forehead.

Hope you’re having a great holiday season! I was wondering if you knew of any good fics with johnlock being around their parents (could be Sherlock’s or John’s)? Any situation really, but really just them spending time with parents. If you have anything hat comes to mind, I’d love to hear about it. Hope you’re having a wonderful day ♥️
Hi Nonny! *hugs*
I’ve absolutely some fics with this trope! I’ve actually a list I’ve done previously with this trope!

So let’s put them all into one, plus with some newer additions!
PARENTS AND FAMILY
Further Impressions by grannysknitting (K+, 1k+ w. || Friendship & Family) – Sherlock meets the people who made John Watson the man he is today… the reciprocal family dinner. Sequel to First Impressions
There’s Always Three of Us by Itsallfine (T, 1,765 w. || Post-S4, Parentlock, Love Declarations, First Kiss, Anniversary, S4 Fix it Fic, Fluff) – Sherlock takes John and Rosie out to Angelo’s and gets a chance to correct the biggest mistake of his life.
Anne Bonny by Spartangal22 (K+, 2K+ w. || Family & Friendship, Mary is Nice, Watson Family, Holmes Family) – Sherlock just wanted to do something nice for the baby, but a simple phone call leads him and the Watsons back to his parent’s cottage, where Mr. and Mrs. Holmes welcome the little girl as their own.

Wintery Hell by Belldere (K+, 2K+ w. || Friendship & Humour, Christmas) – With Sherlock being roped into spending Christmas with his family, John had his own Christmas all planned out with his other friends and family… That is until he’s extended a forceful invitation from Mycroft and an assumption from Sherlock who, once again, failed to notice John wasn’t in the room when he ‘asked’.
Engaged by lifeonmars (NR, 3,146 w. || Marriage Proposal, Fluff, Holmes Family, Song Fic) – Sherlock did not believe in marriage, but he wanted to be married. He found this something of a surprise. Part 2 of Damage

He retreats to his mind palace in the desperate hope of figuring out what he wants, unfortunately for him his mind palace is full of people who keep trying to give him advice.
Christmas at Holmes Cottage by johnlockedstarkid (G, 4,295 w. || Christmas, Fake Relationship, Love Confessions, Holmes Family, Pining, Kisses, Fluff, Allusions to Mystrade) – Sherlock doesn’t want to have to deal with his mother’s wishes for him to find a partner when he goes to visit them for Christmas, so asks John to pose as his boyfriend. Little does he know he’s not the only one who wishes that the relationship could be real.

But that doesn’t mean she can’t see when someone else wants something – even if she doesn’t happen to care overmuch for that person. And it doesn’t mean she isn’t willing to help.
Caught In The Act by ShirleyCarlton (E, 7,009 w. across 6 stories || Est. Rel, Voyeurism, Character POV’s, Masturbation, Switchlock) – This is a series of six scenarios written from the points of view of six different people as they accidentally walk in on Sherlock and John having sex.

Twelfth Night by yourdykeinshiningarmor (E, 15,139 w. || Fake Relationship, Christmas, Mutual Pining, Friends to Lovers, Angst & Fluff, BJ’s, Anal) – John is invited to his aunt’s Twelfth Night ball. Sherlock offers to attend with him as a friendly face among strangers, but John’s family force him to address his true feelings for Sherlock.
Never-Ending Cycle by orphan_account (T, 17,211 w. || Christmas, Est. Rel., Proposal, Fluff) – Or, four times Sherlock Holmes attempted to propose to John Watson, and the Christmas Party at which he finally did. Sherlock thinks he’s a miserable failure, John is confused, Mrs. Hudson and Lestrade provide some unsatisfactory advice, and Mummy is, as always, the solution. All in a lovely, fluffy holiday theme.
With All My Heart by QuinnAnderson (E, 19,257 w. || Red Marks / Soulmates || Magical Realism, Growing Up, First Kiss / Time, Falling in Love) – AU in which every time a person falls in love, a red line like a tally mark appears on their wrist. Sherlock is determined to keep himself from ever gaining one of these marks for fear that love will corrode his mental faculties. Then he meets John Watson.

An unsettling idea especially when John will have to play ‘Boyfriend’ thanks to Mycroft. But why exactly does Sherlock want to avoid a family party?
Hitting the Water at Sixty Miles an Hour by what_alchemy (E, 30,568 w. || Fake Rel., Roadtrips, Slow Burn, Mummy Holmes) – “You love your mother, Sherlock?” John watched the muscles in Sherlock’s jaw jump. He nodded in one sharp jerk.“Then we’re going to her party and making her happy.” John let out a resigned sigh. “As a ruddy couple, you bastard.”
Our Enthusiasms Which Cannot Always Be Explained by withoutawish (M, 32,961 w. || Christmas, Fluff and Angst, H/C, Post-TRF, Case Fic, Mild Gore, Sherlock Whump) – The list that is tacked haphazardly on the refrigerator of 221B reads, ‘Kidney(s), and/or a full cadaver (preferably male, late 30s, under six feet tall), bag of fresh toes, sixteen cow’s eyes (corneas retained), dual exhaust hand –held flame thrower, an unopened first edition copy of Joseph Conrad’s ‘Heart of Darkness’, and no less than ten abhorrently gruesome murders in the upcoming month.” The one neatly hanging next to it simply reads, “Sex.” One of these lists is not John Watson’s. If John Watson were to put what he really wanted in list form, to live in a land somewhere beyond ‘almosts’ now that Sherlock Holmes has indeed returned to him, he would never be able to look his flatmate in the eye ever again.
Pater Noster by SilentAuror (E, 34,256 w. || Case Fic, HLV+, Family Trauma, Sherlock POV, Villain Mary) – During the autumn that John is staying at Baker Street again after Sherlock was shot, he ruminates over the similarity between Sherlock’s shot and the one that killed his father when he was fifteen. Cold case meets series 3 fix-it. Part I takes place entirely within His Last Vow, Part II takes place starting at the end of HLV and continues after.
Where Else Would I Be? by cwb (E, 34,910 w. || Retirementlock, Domestic Fluff, Falling in Love, Parentlock, Fluff and Smut, Reminiscing) – John and Sherlock’s five-year-old granddaughter spends the weekend with them in Sussex. Sherlock happily indulges her whims, and John takes care of them while quietly revisiting the past thirty years of their lives together.
Classified(s) by blueink3 (E, 36,153 w. || Wedding Date AU || Fake Relationship, Jealous, PIning, H/C, Idiots in Love, Happy Ending, Mary is not Nice, Escort Service) – Clara’s American father is the ambassador to some such territory that Great Britain probably used to own, but she (and Harry’s undying love for her) is the reason John is getting on a flight at 12:30pm, flying across the second largest ocean in the world, and pretending to be in a perfectly happy, healthy relationship with an undoubtedly perfectly coiffed stranger. See, Clara is not only American (and wealthy to boot), she’s also best friends with John’s ex-fiancée. Whom she’s placed in the wedding party. As Maid of Honor. And John just happens to be Best Man. Bloody brilliant.
A Promise Made to Be Broken by PlantsAreNeat (E, 37,018 w. || Fake Relationship, Pining, Slow Burn, RST, Eventual Relationship, POV Sherlock) – A young John makes an ‘if we’re still single at 40, we’ll get together’ pledge to a woman who ends up all wrong for him. She keeps reminding him of the promise, and won’t let go of it. John asks Sherlock to pose as his boyfriend at a family wedding, so as to dash her hopes permanently. Sherlock, who has at last acknowledged his feelings for John, reluctantly agrees despite knowing how painful it will be to ‘have’ John, but not keep him.
The Pieces That Fall to Earth by Itsallfine (M, 49,513 w. || S4 Fix-It, Epistolary, Love Confessions, Slow Burn, Parentlock, Past Abuse, Coming Out, Questioning Sexuality, Mental Health Issues / Therapy, Angst, Happy Ending) – John and Sherlock have hit rock bottom, but with all their armor stripped away, they can finally speak honestly, seek healing, and find the truths that matter most. An epistolary post-s4 fix-it fic. Now complete.(This fic is rated T except for one very clearly marked and easily skippable chapter, which is rated M.) Part 1 of The Pieces that Fall to Earth
Bedroom Tales by Junejuly15 (M, 49,950 w. || Friends to Lovers, Through the Years, H/C, Military Kink, First Kiss / Time, Romance, Insecure Sherlock, Voyeurism, Post-TRF, Ficlets, Fluff and Angst, Fix-It Fics) – Bedroom Tales is a collection of John and Sherlock ficlets. They are set at various stages of their relationship and are in no particular order. Some are fluffy, some sexy, some angsty, there is hurt and comfort, romance and love. What unites them is that they all play in a bedroom, but not necessarily the one in 221B.
The Homecoming Series by sussexbound (M, 51,744 w. across 12 stories, WIP || Domestics, PTSD, Love Confessions, Hurt/Comfort, Cuddling, Jealousy, Family Issues, Cuddling) – Sometimes home is all you need. After three years of horror, betrayals, and crushing loss, John and Sherlock find their way back home to one another, and together find new footing in a world that has changed forever.
Spare Change by Ermerness (E, 51,966 w. || Rich Holmeses AU || First Kiss / Time, Holmes Family, Virgin Sherlock, Anal, First Meetings) – The Holmes family is one of the richest and most powerful in England. Sherlock spends his time flying around the world on the family’s private jet drinking a lot and shopping at expensive boutiques as a way of trying to alleviate his endless boredom. His mother decides it’s time he settles down with someone powerful, wealthy and well connected. John Watson happens to be none of those things.
John Watson’s Twelve Days of Christmas by earlgreytea68 (M, 53,464 w. || Christmas, Holmes Family, Fake Relationship, Alternate First Meeting, Falling in Love, Fluff and Angst, Hardcore Pining) – It’s the holiday season. John Watson needs money. Sherlock Holmes needs something else.
Albion and the Woodsman by Glenmore (E, 54,437 w. || Post S3 || Parentlock, Pining Sherlock, Angst, Family, Drug Use, Depression, Sherlock POV) – Sherlock and John are devastated after Mary Morstan makes her final moves. Sherlock relapses at the crack house, John walks around the world … and a lot happens in between. Parentlock, in the good way.
between each beat are words unsaid by darcylindbergh, hudders-and-hiddles (T, 107,998 w. || Epistolary, Slow Burn, Friends to Lovers, Angst, Happy Ending) – On their wedding night, John and Sherlock gift each other with the things they each said when the other could not hear, the things they each put down where the other could not see: a collection of writings that illustrate the way their love for one another has grown over the years. Part 1 of between each beat
The Swan Triad by Pennin_Ink (T, 121,660 w. across 3 works || Swan Lake AU || Magical / Fairy Tale AU, Romance, Falling in Love, Pining, Psychological Torture, Transformation) – Sherlock and John grow up spending every summer together. Their mothers’ attempts to play matchmaker only fuel their mutual resentment and scorn. But then, one summer.
Unkissed Series by 221b_hound (T to E, 184,168 w. across 46 works || Established Relationship, Ace Sherlock) – Sherlock returned from the dead a year ago. John returned to Baker Street six months ago. They’ve been in a couple since then. Or at least, not NOT a couple. For two smart men, they sure can be dumb.

Prompt: Mystrade babysitting Rosie for reasons. Possibly taking her to a crime scene.
"Oh, come on," Sally says when Greg walks up to her wearing the baby bjorn. "Thought you got a sitter."
"Do you know, they get sick sometimes," Greg replies. "If it were any other kid, I wouldn't dare step on a bug in front of them, but Miss Watson-Holmes has certainly seen enough to handle one more crime scene." Greg bounces Rosie lightly as he says it. She coos and gurgles, one fist jammed in her mouth.
"When are they back?" Sally asks, giving Rosie a suspicious look. Not a kid-friendly person, is Sally.
"Three days," Greg says. "Got to say, Mary had the right idea getting both her men out of the city to get some quiet time. Sherlock's barely been able to text, they're so far in the county." He yawns, jerking in surprise when Rosie jams her fingers into his mouth. "Oi," he says, taking her wrist carefully and pulling her hand away.
Sally snorts. "Sticking her fingers right in your mouth? Definitely learned it from Sherlock."
Greg chuckles. "Chalk one up to nurture, there." He looks over Rosie's head at the scene, taking in the details, then going very still when he spots a very well-known figure in the far corner. "Donovan, you want to tell me why we've got a Holmes on scene? Especially one who couldn't take the baby because he had a very important meeting right at this time?"
Sally glances over, rolling her eyes as she spots Mycroft. "I don't want to make any wild guesses, Guv, but I think he lied to you to get some quality shots of you and Rosie at a scene judging by how he's holding his phone."
"That sneaky bastard," Greg says, unable to stop a smile. "I'm never gonna hear the end of it from John when he sees those, not after the lecture I gave him the first time he showed up with her."
"You're all fucking berks," Sally says.
"Language," Greg says, glancing at Rosie. She's still gnawing at her fist, seemingly content to drool all down her arm for awhile.
"You just said 'bastard,'" Sally points out.
"Don't use logic on me. I've been babysitting a seven-month old," Greg says. He pushes Rosie's hair off her forehead and kisses her absently. "Besides, save it for helping me yell at my husband, and I'll show you some quality photos of him asleep in mismatched socks."
Sally's eyes light up. "Christmas card?"
"Oh, you bet."
