what’s Mystery’s backstory !! how did she get to know the other rogues (maybe including the krakens :3) !! /nf
Edward
She had just moved to Gotham to live with her grandparents after finishing compulsory education in England. (Compulsory education ends with year 11, that's age 16. Or it was when she left school. In changes within a few years of her leaving.) She was walking around reminding herself of the place since she was last there when she noticed a door hidden away with a question mark painted on the door. She decided to investigate and went inside it. She had not been informed that there was a new rouge in Gotham so she had no clue she had walked into a riddle room. One set up for Batman to be exact. Lucky for her, Edward figured out she didn't know who he was and decided to just ask her riddles instead of making her do the room. To his surprise she answered the riddles with ease. As a reward he gave her Riddler Trophy that was meant for Batman.
After that Edward would seek her out as he was curious to how a teenager could best him. That is where he found out she has always had a lovely of riddles and actually enjoyed answering them for him. He always discovered that she had a way of getting information. From then on he would get her to work with him where after about a year they were more friends than colleagues.
Jonathan
She met Jonathan when she was at one of Edward's hideouts. He snuck in And saw her picking plans up of Edward's desk. Thinking she had broken in he attacked her and injected her with fear toxin. Edward came in a minute later and realised what had happened. He would then proceed to scream at Jonathan that people can't just break in and that she was the person he had told him about and to give me the antidote. Unfortunately Mystery would have to endure the full effort of the toxin for the next hour or so.
She was properly introduced to Jonathan the next day once she had calmed down completely. She was very surprised to find out that he was actually really polite and civil when not Scarecrow. They soon became close friends despite the ten year age difference. They bonded by annoying Edward constantly.
Jervis
Mystery had a much better time meeting Jervis for the first time. Edward had to go to him to collect something and took Mystery with him. He instantly decided that they were friends. as Hatter he created a new character for her to be in Wonderland.
Most of the other rouges she met while working with Edward or gaining them as clients when she started as an information broker.
In the 14 years Mystery has been living in Gotham there are only a few rouges who know her real identity. Edward, Jonathan, Jervis and Harley all earned her trust to tell them her real name. They have never revealed it to anyone.
The Krakens
Not too sure how she became involved with The Krakens. It could be:
They had been going to Mystery for information and they decided that she would be a good fit with them.
The Krakens were in the middle of a mission and were stuck with something they were trying to do. Mystery who was doing her own little mission at the same place helped them out without a word and carried on with what she was their to do
I kinda like the second one better. The situation just seems funny to me.

Veilguard fails to realise that for those who believe, faith is stronger than anything, even facts.
Right in the beginning of Veilguard all the Dalish/veil jumpers are so nonchalant and against their gods returning, as if they were convinced offscreen that their whole faith was based on a lie (even though they all still wear vallaslin) and their gods were Evil™. This, again, fails to consider that the vast majority of the Dalish would either not believe or not care because it's their religion, their faith.
Morally ambiguous gods exist in real life religions too and it didn't stop people from believing in them. Divine morality transcends mortal understanding, so their actions are always rightful. This also leads to the concept of a 'god-fearing' person - even the term used (θεοσεβής) can mean both respect and fear. Mortals are humbled by the gods' power and greatness, and willfully submit to their divine authority.
You needn't go further than the goddamn Bible itself to see countless examples of unethical things that God did/supported including legitimization of slavery and punishment (Exodus 21:20-21 “Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property." is one unhinged example), cannibalism, many kinds of violence, war, and of course, genocide, one of which was literally the deliberate destruction of nearly all humanity and living creatures on earth. The god of the most widely practiced religion in the world for millenia. Ask a devout Christian if they would stop believing in God just because 'um actually he is bad'.
Mystery is also a great aspect of religion, which also makes it an excellent worldbuilding element for writers. Mystery adds to the immersion because just like the characters, we don’t know everything except the beliefs and unanswered questions. And we're not supposed to, because this is how religion works in real life, where faith is about belief rather than what’s fully understood. It makes the story feel more real and engaging. Professional writers - of a AAA title no less - should know this.
Religion was one of the greatest themes in all previous games, especially Andrastianism and the Elven pantheon. Reducing it all to 'the Evanuris did it' is disappointing to say the least, and even if it was the truth that only the writers knew, they should have kept it that way, or at least some of the mystery. It adds immersion, drama, nuance, it encourages thought and discussion. For all Veilguard failed in the 'show, don't tell' rule, in this case this is too much exposure, and not even done in a good way. ''Religion is fake, so now everyone's atheist or unfazed. Oh, except for one (1) person who is mildly upset'' is not how faith works, especially in a setting so religious as Thedas.

Rambles under cut!
MORE FIDDS LORE BECAUSE I FUCKING LOVE THIS MAN.
He's known in town as "That Nice Old Man" that lives with his son in the cabin near the lake.
What a regular guy, that man. Yup. Old Man Mcgucket. Totally normal, regular old man, haha. Yeah. Him? A cult leader? Ridiculous!
In my perfect world where this AU is an actual fully animated show, the episode when the mystery twins first officially meet Fidds would be called "Out of Sight, Out of Mind" because fuck yeah baby. It sounds cool as FUCK.
When the twins meet Fidds, they somehow found someone with EVEN STRONGER cultist vibes than their grunkle.
"Come closer, kids! I don't bite."
"Tell me, children: How are you feeling? Anything... bad, happen lately? Anything you would like to forget? No? Well, don't hesitate to tell me if there's anything you would like out of your head, anything at all. I would hate for youngens like you to be forced to deal with such... unsavorable memories. Better to have them gone and out of your head. You know what they say: Out of sight, out of mind." *boop*
I'm making him a manipulative conniving little rat with good intentions but utterly ABYSMAL execution (babygirl, you can't just go around deleting people's memories)
Since Fidds is actually the leader of the Society of The Blind Eye, the cult is a lot more organized and covert, and actually do their job pretty well.
Tate knows. He knows his father is hiding something from him, something dangerous, but he can't remember what. He tries to get the twins to stay as far away from his father as possible because, while he's certain his father won't actually hurt them, there is no telling what the kids might be getting involved with.
During the cult fight "episode", Mcgucket would be chasing the kids, Ford, and Bill around, but mostly just for the latter two rather than the children. He would never actually hurt the twins.
"Please, I'm trying to help you, kids! Don't you understand? KNOWING is what cost me my eyes; KNOWING might be what costs you yours, or worse, your life! You can't remember any of this. And I cannot in good conscience let that- that demon stay inside your Great Uncle's head to rot him from inside out like- like some kind of PARASITE."
And then bada bing, baba boom, the twins defeat Fiddleford and his weird cult and they survive with their memory instact and their Grunkles not dead, yipeee!!
Fidds disbands the cult and chucks himself into jail willingly, and casually just becomes the boss of all the other inmates there with his natural old man charms. He gets the Gideon treatment for his ending <3
It's okay, tho because Mabel and the others visit him sometimes just to chat and keep him company.

Silent Phantom
Ok, here’s a dead silent fic idea (dead silent is Cass x Danny right?). Anyways, in this, Danny is mute. Either his accident (and lynchinburg scars) traveled up to his neck, permanently injuring his vocal cords so he can’t speak or I get into ghost lore where Danny is considered a type of banshee so while he can speak, his voice is literally his wail and causes a lot of damage. This happens in both human and ghost form. If I go this route, then the wail will not drain Danny of energy as much as it does in the show but it will be so destructive that Danny can’t use it without hurting others so it’s a last resort. Anyways, Danny can’t speak. The justice league hear about this new hero going around and helping people, stoping natural disasters, and defeating these other strange creatures (ghost have started appearing out of just amity thanks to the natural portals) and the justice league try to make contact however, Danny can’t talk to them. He can’t shout at them over fights or even respond to their questions in normal conversations. So most of the time he just leaves or stands there in awkward silence before turning invisible and leaving. The justice league think he’s rude and that he’s just ignoring them. But Cass sees how Phantom reacts and how he doesn’t seem to speak at all. Like, not even crying out in pain when he’s hit. So one day, she sees him and goes up to him and just starts signing ASL. Phantom lights up and he gets super excited and starts frantically signing back. He comes right up to Cass with a bright grin asking questions, asking where she learned sign, about the justice league, all kinds of things and they have an actual conversation. For the first time, it was like Phantom was acting like a kid. The justice league eventually learns why Phantom had been ‘ignoring’ them and Phantom bonds with Cass and they start teaming up. They also learn why Phantom can’t speak. (I kinda like the banshee idea).

Thoughts on the rogues? and which ones are your favorite?
Favourite Rogues:
Edward Nygma - The one she has know the longest. Sees him as a brother and will treat him as such. (Will annoy him just to get a rise out of him.) Believes that he should lower his ego as it is way too high.
Jonathon Crane - One of her closest friends out of the rogues. Enjoys how they can just sit in the same room and not speak to each other and it never be awkward. Hates when Scarecrow takes any interest in her and will keep out of his way.
Jervis Tetch - Also sees as a sibling. Both loves and hates the fact that they cause trouble together.
Harley Quinn - One of the few girls she is close too. Appreciates how she will include her in activities and will not push her to do things she does not want to do.
Oswald Cobblepot - Treats him like an uncle. Knows that if she is in any serious trouble he will help with little to no questions.
Some of the other Rogues:
Joker - Both hates and is afraid of him. Has had a few very negative interactions with him. She is always cautious around him and is always annoyed by him.
Harvey Dent - Not overly keen on him but hasn't given her a reason to be afraid.
Victor Fries - Respect him and his work and will help where she can, even if it is just getting him some chemical. Hope he can find the cure for his wife, Nora.

Enneke taking a rest in a battle axe after a fierce fighting.
So ended the fourth of the Dragon Wars, after many years of strife, and there was relief and hope for a time in the courts and hearts of Pokemon. And the hosts and knights of the fairy kindred marched under flowers and song to where they had departed so long ago. The Dragons and their heretical servants were scattered across the lands and their machines torn down, but their dark allies and Demons were not completely destroyed. Many of the Dragons repented and returned to the guidance of the gods and their servants, yet also still remembered their enemies in their hearts. The dark tunnels beneath the island of Skir were filled and the gates sealed, but deep under the earth the caverns still remain as a harbour of evil. Some remained to watch over the island, but none settled there for the dread of war clung to the soil, and because the burning mountain that stood high over the island and the former green meadows of the Emerald Hills were blackened with ash. Countless Pokemon of the Fairy kind and many other kin and Dragons who were their allies perished in the battles and the crossing of the sea. The high king of the Riverland was no more, and his realm would not find peace until long after. Those who had joined the host of the Fairies in search of glory and honour now departed in sorrow, and once more the kindred of Pokemon grew estranged.
