What are tropes/tags that you absolutlely hate? Like you see them in a fic and instantly go 'Nope nope nope'
Oh boy, where do I even start? You really want to know how obnoxiously picky I am? Okay, you asked for it…
I guess I'll start with the biggest and most obvious one, the one I immediately exclude from every AO3 search, which usually knocks out like a third of my fic options right off the bat: fluff. Then there's anything even related to fluff and/or healthy normal relationships, including but not limited to: friends to lovers, soulmates, established relationship, safewords, aftercare, SSC, and absolutely anything to do with babies, kids, or pregnancy.
The other major category I typically refuse to read is AUs, though tragically there's no good way to filter them out because there's too damn many and tagging is so inconsistent. Canon divergence or AUs where the canon events could still plausibly play out with only minor tweaking is fine (ex: omegaverse), but the wildly non-canon stuff like high school AUs, fantasy AUs, historical AUs, etc are hard no's. I read fanfic because I want to read more about the characters and stories I already love and if you transplant them into a completely different setting with completely different backgrounds and life experiences, I'm sorry, but they are no longer the same characters – that's original fiction. There's nothing wrong with original fiction, it's just not what I want to read.
I've mentioned it previously but extreme violence, gore, and body horror are squicks for me. Reader fic is a BIG nope. Other misc tags and genres off the top of my head that I avoid: het fic, body swap, genderbend, time travel/loops, roleplay, and miscommunication.
As for fandom specific tropes, I won't read Actual Good Guy Rumlow and I especially won't read anything where he and Bucky are portrayed as being in anything even resembling a healthy relationship. And last but not least, I absolutely 100% will not read dom Bucky. He can be allowed to top sometimes, as a treat, but that boy is a sub and I will entertain nothing else.

Hello I love your art!!! I was reading through your changeling au and Felix mentions that fae are creatures of mirth. They literally need attention to survive. But what kind of attention? I guess I'm wondering because Adrien has been in the public eye for a while now, but has been personally neglected for even longer. What does that mean for him? Is he starving? Is he in danger of dying? Does he even know it? (I assume not given he doesn't even know he's Fae).
If he is starving / in danger of starving who is the first to realize this?
it depends on the mirth, on the attention, on what it is they seek. Without making things too complicated - I don't like to define everything into neat little boxes after all, there's fun in nuance - Felix is just explaining from his experience, the Fae he was with tended to be "entertained" by certain aspects of their playing, which was the mirth that kept them relevant. Relevancy more than anything is really what keeps their wheels greased.
In Adrien's case though, the reason he's cloying for so many names and to have so many thralls and attendants is because he SHOULD be a more social creature and has been kept woefully alone. He is kinda starving in the way a fae starves - he's relevant, but only in an image his father constructs OF him, which means it isn't REALLY him - and he has no one to play with. No friends, no lovers, and no rivals, makes a very sad fae

I love your take on Crowley!
I know that the early, non-Diasomnia stories aren't really your thing, but are you reading the novels at all?
I have been following some of the fan translations and the second book seems intense! Would love to hear what you think about them.
thank you! 💚💚💚 I'm not really sure why you think I don't like the earlier arcs though, I love pretty much all the characters and their storis! (I think 5 and 1 are my favorite of the past episodes, though 6 infected me with the Shroud brainrot something fierce.) I just...ESPECIALLY love diasomnia. :') but there is room in my heart for all of these dweebs! like, who among us is not just as ride-or-die for Adeuce as they are for us.
that said, I don't really follow the other adaptations like the manga (aside from a dip-in just to see the new Yuus) or the novels, though I keep meaning to check them out! I do like seeing the differences between the different forms of media, and how certain things get adapted one way or another! but alas, time/a lack of accessibility stands in our way more often than not. :( someday...someday I will have time to consume all of the media...

Hullo to my fellow fandom creators.
How you guys doing? Good? Good.
I just wanted to drop you a little note to say I hope you’re all having fun out here. Because fun is what it’s all about, right? Fun and excitement and hobbies and interests and all that good stuff!
While I’ve been wandering about in my little corner here at tumblr dot com, I gotta tell you, it can be so easy to get discouraged sometimes. Like SO easy. And I dunno folks, I guess I just wanted to remind you (and me!) that when we create stuff for our fandoms, it’s for fun! Because we love it! Because we love making it! We love sharing it! We love the source material and the characters and the world-building and all that other neat stuff!
Sometimes we all need a little reminder, I find. Because sometimes people don’t like what we’re making. Sometimes they’ll be rude or complain and make demands about how fandom "cOnTeNt” (yuck) should be made (double yuck) and act kind of entitled about it. And idk, that gets kind of disheartening. Especially when you’re pouring all your heart and soul into what you’re making, simply for the love of it.
So! Yeah I just wanted to check in with you folks because I’m seeing a lot of that weird entitlement in various fandoms lately, and from one creator to another, I wanted to just say -if I may wax poetic for a moment here- nuts to those people. Nuts to ‘em. NUTS, I TELL YOU.
Not everyone is going to like the stuff you make, and that's okay. The important thing is to remember that their opinions have nothing to do with you or me or anyone else making art or fics or edits or whatever our little hearts desire. Just because what you're making doesn't tick someone else's personal boxes doesn't mean that what you're making is wrong or bad!
If people want specific stuff in fandom, they can make it. If they don’t like what we’re making, they can move on - that's fine. If they want to publicly whine about it and try to make it everyone else's problem, that's their baggage and we don't have to take any of that on board. It’s no reflection on you if someone wants to demand that their own specific tastes be met, rather than actually taking part in the community in a positive way. Because we’re here for fun, aren’t we.
Are you having fun? Good. That’s all that matters.
Go make something cool and fun, and have a great day!
Love you!
