I'm sorry but I finished ep 1 of act 3 and had to write this to get my emotions out about ekko and powder being a thing in an alternative reality bcz just RAHHHFHSHEHSHHS my gay ass is crying (no offense to the timebomb shippers, you do you!! If you like this that's cool💪💪) ENGLISH ISN'T MY NATIVE LANGUAGE, IF I MADE SOME SPELLING MISTAKES I'M SORRY ALSO SPOILERS FOR ACT 3!!

Warnings: uhhh just angst, mostly angst, this is for my girlies who might be feeling the same

You've always liked Powder, every since you were kids, and still when you are teenagers.

Their was always something about her. The way she made the most creative inventions, the way she always seemed to have some sort of spark in her eyes. Her laugh, her hair, her eyes, it's hard for you to explain the feelings you have towards her.

You knew the way Vi's death was heavy on her, you could see that with the days, and soon years that came after. You we're always trying to be there to support her, make her feel a little better. You gave her space when she needed it, and we're there for her when she needed you the most.

And then there was Ekko.

You never hated Ekko, you 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 hate Ekko. he was a good guy, you got along with him. He was around Powder nearly just as much as you we're, maybe even a little more. When you were around Powder, he wouldn't take long to show up as well. You didn't mind.

But you couldn't deny that you we're jealous of him, of Ekko. The way he charmed his way into Powder's heart over the years. With his sketches, ideas, personality, kindness and understanding. You wanted what him and Powder had as if what you already had wasn't enough for you. You could see the way she looked at him, how 𝙝𝙚 looked at her the same way.

You often wished it was you instead of him. You try to forget about your jealousy, push it asside. You try to push your jealousy and selfishness asside, keep everything natural between you three. But it got harder and harder the more time went on.

Ekko has been acting strange recently, or at least that's what Powder told you. How he 'seems not to remember anything' and how he says these things about how in a dream her and Vi we're completely different. You noticed yourself too, how he was more around then usual. You assumed it was because of his project or whatever.

Now you find yourself here, on the dance floor in the last drop. Inventions around you everywhere as music and colorful lights fill the bar. You look into the crowd, trying to spot Powder. It took you a whole 5 minutes to finally spot her, but to no suprise, Ekko was there. On the dance floor, with her. Dancing together to the beat of the music like it was just the two of them. You tried to move your eyes away from the sight, let them be happy and together. But the jealousy ate you from the inside out, this all just left a bitter taste on your tongue. It all got so overwhelming so quickly, so you decide to leave the place before you explode and do something stupid.

So you decide to go out to Powder's little Hideout for now and go back once you've cooled down. You look at the massive invention across the room, stunned as fuck how they made this. You don't want to pay too much attention to it though, so you continue walking through the massive space before sitting down in front of the small memorial that Powder made for Vi.

You lighten the place up before just.. Sitting there. You sigh, looking at the picture sat on the desk. Vi always knew you had a thing for Powder, she always encouraged you to tell her how you felt. Whenever the situation was on your mind, you'd go here. You'd talk, like she was still there. Because to you, she was. To everyone, she still was. Now wasn't any different, you talked about what has been going on recently. With Ekko, Powder, and everything else.

"I just.. Don't know what to do, I know I'm supposed to be happy for them.. Ekko is a great guy, a-and if they become a thing, I'll be fine with it but.. Theirs this voice in the back of my mind that just doesn't seem to go away.." You groan, your head in your hands as you thought for a moment.

You knew you couldn't hide your feelings forever. If Powder wasn't going to feel the same way towards you, you might as well tell her what you've been feeling all this time. Just for an answer, a yes or a no. Anything. If she didn't feel anything as well then at least she'd know.

"I'll tell her, tonight. Like you always wanted me to do.. I'll.. I'll get this over with, okay? For you."

You found yourself walking back towards the last drop, but then you see Powder, going in the direction of what you knew to be the place where Vi always took her to. So you decided to follow.

If only you weren't blind enough to see Ekko walking along with her.

You climbed up to the place, heart racing in your chest as you tried to think about the things you could say. Your mind was running a million miles and you tried desperately to calm your nerves.

You we're finally gonna do it, you we're gonna tell her how you feel.

But just as you nearly reach the top, you see her. And Ekko.

Their kissing.

In front of your eyes.

Your heart dropped, hope that you knew was useless in the end shattered as you saw the image.

Wrong fucking timing. You stood there, frozen in time before quickly getting out of there. Trying to hold back the tears that we're threatening to fall.

She likes Ekko. She only likes Ekko. It was never you. Not in childhood, not in teenage years.

She likes a boy. That boy.

Your not that boy, and for now, you had to live with that.

You we're never going to being the one kissing her. It was always going to be him in the end.

Just to say Buddie as a ship is not the big draw for everyone that BoBs think it is.

When 911 was a little baby show I was one of the first in the fandom and there was only about a dozen or so of us. It was a cool little fandom and very chill. Then Eddie arrived in s2 and so did the shippers. The fandom exploded and I could see the writing on the wall for my enjoyment, because I'm old and well used to what fanon shipping does to when it becomes all that the fandom is about.

So, long story short, I left and became just a GA viewer for the next few years.

Then I was scrolling tumblr one day when I discovered that Buck was going to be bi, and ngl my heart sank a little because I thought they were going down the Buddie route, and even though I was stoked about bi Buck, I wasn't sold on it being Buddie. So I was pleasantly surprised when it was Tommy instead.

I re-joined the fandom after years away, because finally I had a ship for my favorite show that I could enjoy and get behind, and a partner for Buck I really liked. So no amount of tantrum throwing and meanness by butt hurt shippers is going to drive me away a second time, even if Bucktommy doesn't end up being endgame.

Tl;dr if all my years as a member of the GA with friends who are also just casual viewers has taught me one thing, it's that shipping does NOT enter the minds of any of 99% of us, unless we're active in fandom spaces.

so assuming Avery is actually pregnant / doesn't early-trimester miscarry (which is not a given), there's two reasonable ways this can go, right. number one is she gets an abortion, the plotline is used to pull them all back together again, and they all have some collective hurt/comfort about it. number two, the one i would write - don't get me wrong, i'm all for women getting career-driven abortions, but hear me out - is the one where she does have the baby. under the cut bc it got long.

she goes to med school at first while pregnant - Max is right, it can be done, people in my cohort did it - and either gets lucky with the timing of the actual birth being during holidays, or just works her way to getting time off for a few weeks around it. And then... there's a baby. And you know what else there is? There's two dads (because we're 100% Mamma Mia-ing this bitch. they never find out who the bio dad is and they never seriously try. Baby comes out with Avery's exact skin tone so that's no clue.), and an entire cruise ship worth of backup babysitters. So Avery goes back to med school, and leaves the baby with Tristan and Max.

And, yes, raising a baby while also running an infirmary with a rotating cast of temporary substitute nurses filling Avery's role isn't the easiest thing they've ever done, but Robert loves fulfilling grandparent duties any time he's not on duty; Rosie gets one of those strap-on baby carriers and walks her (i don't know why i've decided the baby is a her but i have now) around the engine room pointing out parts and explaining concepts and hey, the baby never complains about her Michigan stories; Corey gets a cart and a bundle of clean sheets and pushes her down the corridors until the smell of laundry powder automatically makes her start laughing.

Max and Tristan make a pact to send Avery at least two photos a day - which ends up getting supplemented by everyone else who's with Baby - and FaceTime her most days, and whenever she gets a few days off she meets them in port. (The most expensive part of baby-raising ends up being her flights to wherever the Odyssey happens to be at the time, at least until Robert finds out and figures out a way to start paying her 'maternity leave', despite her insistence that the whole point of this is that she isn't maternity-leaving and he should probably be paying himself that and anyway, isn't she technically not an employee right now?)

And the thing is, during this time, Max and Tristan start... realising some things. Like how neither of them feel like they've lost their only partner, because they.. haven't. Like how the co-parenting's been working out better than either of them expected, because they fell instantly (minus a few minor bumps) into a shared rhythm. Like how sometimes they look at the other one holding Baby and feel like their heart's about to explode.

Also, they've both started sleeping in Max's bed. Because Baby's spent so much time sleeping in the corner of the infirmary that now if she wakes up at night and can't see both of them, she starts crying inconsolably. And obviously Max's suite is more suited to multiple inhabitants, and they're usually too damn exhausted to even remember the first time they were in this bed together.

(usually. most of the time. and when they're not, they don't make it the other's problem)

So at the end of the first year of this, the last two days of the year's last cruise have been packed with crisis after crisis after demanding patient after crisis, and as soon as they finally wave the last passenger off they hand Baby gratefully over to Robert and go crash out in Max's bed.

Avery was supposed to be meeting them on board tomorrow, but her last exam gets unexpectedly moved up by a day (believe me, med school loves to pull that kind of shit on you), so a couple hours after the passengers have gone, she shows up to surprise them. And finds Robert (a known ody3 shipper) first, who lets her take Baby with minimal captainly sulking about it, and while she rocks and kisses Baby, tells her (as a known ody3 shipper) that the two dads will be on the Pelican deck, but they're probably asleep.

Avery kinda frowns at him, but doesn't question it, and takes Baby up with her to Max's suite to find them. And they are both fast asleep, on either side of Max's bed with a space carefully preserved between them (because it's usually where Baby would be and they're both terrified of accidentally rolling onto her in the middle of the night). She's also exhausted after exams, so she crawls into it, lies on her back with Baby on top of her chest, and goes straight to sleep.

Tristan and Max wake up before her, and when they look across at each other, at Avery and Baby between them, they both simultaneously realise, oh. oh. oh, this - this three, two-and-half, four people, all together - this is it. this is the love, this is the children, this might even be the home - the second, third, fourth bucket list items to happen in this bed.

Aphmau deciding to move on from this shithole but never actually leaving due to disgusting sentimentality that she will never admit is a huge weakness of hers.

Aphmau tough loving the village back into something decent. But no, she doesn't stop there, now she's invested. And she is going to make this shithole the best village on the entire freaking map. Out of totally just only spite.

Garroth as a snobbish prince who hides his identity out of fear of shame being brought upon him. He ran out of cowardice, fear of the throne, of what it promised. The power was too appealing, he craved it, and when he realized he'd rather cast his family aside than not become king- "lord", he knew he had to run, not willing to lose his heart to himself.

So canon Garroth often represses his feelings, keeping stoic, until they explode in a huge disaster. Whereas upside down Garroth is a walking hot mess barely keeping it together, covering it up with bravado, but he has a silent violent anger and ambition that he never lets see the light of day (at least he tries to)

So in Phoenix Drop, Aphmau meets this pompous, entitled, self obsessed asshole, and they immediately but heads. Rivals to lovers anyone? Garmau shippers? (Jk jk)

As Aphmau begins really accidentally instating herself as lord, Garroth is just like "You think you have the right to just burst into this village, cause a huge ruckus, and steal the title of lord?"

"Tf are you talking about, Armor Stand?"

"You... Literally everyone sees you as Lord."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

"..."

"..."

"So you're my head guard-?"

"In your dreams, short stack." Yes Garroth is still her head guard.

Zane's a bit tricky in my head, but I imagine him to be extremely confident, a bit airheaded, but doing his best. He's still the high priest but chose to be because he was told to. He doesn't really care about ancient texts or supposed gods. He just likes people, so he's fine with the role, it lets him travel a lot. He likes to help the common people but can come off as very strong to a lot of people. But he's not a bad person. (Unlike canon Zane... holy irene)

For plot, I like to think that he's a bit of a political puppet in the huge game of chess that is the political climate of Ru'an

As Phoenix Drop grows, like canon, people start to view it as a valid possible threat. But like WAY more. Aphmau's harsh demeanor comes off as genuinely threatening to other villages. Cue MANY assassination attempts. The ones from the Shadow Knights, Zenix ends up thwarting. (He's a mostly good guy) The non Shadow Knight ones? Garroth is on top of it. He comes off as very lazy, and he definitely has his moments of sloth but when he locks in he is a force to be reckoned with and by this I mean he reacts like a mom seeing their child about to stick a fork in an electrical socket. Insane panic but killer reaction time. That's our boy.

woagh i wasn't expecting anyone to actually wanna see the bracelets !!! here:) so sorry it took a while, i was having trouble getting decent pictures!

i have been saving some of the beads used on the zane bracelet for YEARS (for zane)!!! and the blue moon and the green flower were added for garroth and vylad (the purple hearts also have meaning sorry im still a mystreet zanemau shipper) <3 when i made it i didn't really have any black beads so i decided to lean heavy into pink for fun

dante's like my fastest bracelet ever... i just knew Exactly what i wanted on the bracelet. i LOVE the dante one sm. the little pink kitty...<3 AND I JUST NOTICED ONE OF HIS BEADS FOLDED IN THE PICTURE NOOOO but im not retaking it. on the right side the blue bead closest to his name is a smiley face:)

travis' WAS going to say travis, i even spelled it out, but the pull of not-alone-buddies was too strong. he's my buddy:) it doesn't really show in the picture, but there are some purple beads on his!

kawaii~chan/nana's was completely on accident it just happened but it's VERY CUTE so i'm not mad. blue bead is for dante!

and the MiD bracelets:

all the daemos have little pink beads that reminded me of ava! they also all have two of the same silver beads somewhere on them. rhys will have both of these too when i get to him!

leif was the first one i made on accident when i was going to make a laurance bracelet and the rest just followed after that..... his has some old broken/scuffed beads on it because that just made sense. it's also intentionally more asymmetrical than i usually make my bracelets!

asch's was supposed to have a really silly bead on it but i couldn't fit it on:( rip funny bead. i loved how his turned out too much to rework it in, i think it's my favorite of the MiD ones.

ava's says gaslight because she's the gaslight queen and it's very funny to me. there are no demons in her apartment you slammed your head on her door and you made it up. she is a powerful sorceress and if you don't leave her spell room Right Now she'll explode you with her giant novelty pencil. (it also has some little blue beads because. um. pierce/ava my favorites forever)

pierce's says yes because it was funny. funny won. (and he has a little extra pink because. um. pierce/ava my favorite forever). and you can't see it in the picture, but near the bottom is a little butterfly charm that's a personal reference to an old fanart i did lol

i don't have many notes for noi other than i'm surprised how much i like it because orange is my least favorite color. sparkly boy
