That's Right#lackadaisy#WHICH i have been reading since at least '07 when i was thirteen my god b/c this animation is based on the ongoing webcomic#like does its influence show up Directly in some Discrete way i can point to in my art? not very easily probably. And Yet.#the inspiration....i wasn't able to be Regularly Only for at least another year / art done Nonprofessionally Online was novel to me#like wow ppl can make & post fanart of w/e they love huh....didn't know webcomics were a thing & i never really read that many since but.#good god the quality of Lackadaisy at its onset is like this is superb?? this person putting in all their talent and effort???#and Then you get years & years more art and i don't even know what superlatives to throw out abt its quality as it evolves. obsessed w/it..#if i see a new lackadaisy comic page i Will be acting out. obviously this animation is a delight & also stunning. and fascinating to also#juxtapose as a Translation / Interpretation of the comic in a different medium & standalone snippet of Story#and that we're not even quite there in the comic timeline; Taking Notes abt character info we get distilledly here....genuinely love like#take it back to '07 i'm like oh boy can't wait for the dream team to assemble. then a decade later when it did? Oh Boy. that is payoff lol#namely hooray for stitches and mudbug at the field office for every passing gangster. killing one marigold associate but not the other#which seems like a promising start to shootouts w/the other dream team triumvirate. i adore that in canon so far mordecai freckle & rocky#have met but only over a nice brunch. re: all intentions anyways. anyways i'm like Gifs Must Be Made while i'm also so riled afresh abt the#comic that i've been sooo hype for for over fifteen yrs now babeyyy Deservedly. i've done a couple of rereads & ought to do another....#For Interest it'd probably take a few sittings to catch up from the start but there is much to be engaged over....this ongoing story that's#historical fiction prohibition bootlegging cats with plenty of focus on characters & several Mysteries. which i'm better at parsing now lol#like one of the more recent rereads like Oh Of Course x (probably) accidentally killed his y & z took the fall & that's a binding secret...#Not [oh of course] abt the circumstances surrounding a's death & how b & c were involved. nor the ''what's marigold's damage'' mystery#which is great. love to not know things. love that we can readily follow all the emergent drama everyone's wading in nowadays. hell yeah#anyways admire my organized approach to gifs here. four shots each Expressions Atmosphere Action Groupshots#sure might've muddled through gifmaking for this anyways but fr being a huge lackadaisy comic enjoyer for now most of my life helps#and its very Overall Inspiration like. just really getting the [you can really just draw stuff out here] going. fr the art's detail & skill#and that enrichment like i'm gonna have a great time following this. #it’s one of my dreams to have a novel of mine be adapted to the screen#I could just write for the screen but I think a good adaptation can actually add so much to a book#I’m interested in language more than anything as a means to communicating concepts and emotions as precisely as possible#im doing my degree in design tho so I get how important visuals can be#idk I think of a book as a more direct form of art whereas movies leave more of an impression#and I think it’d be very cool to talk to people about their impressions of my work#especially people who are so good at what they do#anyway I’ll be posting the new chapter soon#your fingers in these wounds#my writing

might be the first time I had a dream about a videogame and woke up genuinely disappointed it doesn't exist
#it's like a 3d action game where you play as an anime girl with long pink hair and fight surreal monsters in some kind of dreamscape???#it was also very pink and the floor was like very shallow water from which the monsters come up#idk if it was just one stage or if it was the whole game#but the monsters were mostly dark colored#and the boss I died to was a giant woman with a negative color scheme#like colored black with white lineart#and she had an attack where she grabs and eats you#anyway the fun thing about the game was that it was like. reading your fighting playstyle to determine the character's personality#you could open a menu at any time and see a breakdown#it was like. broken down into a few pairs of opposing personality traits based on whether you spent more time doing X or Y#so like if you spent more time dodging than doing combos you would have personality trait A and if it was the opposite you would have#trait B#and then that would influence the story segments#also there was a character (not the protagonist) who was different every time and his appearance and behavior depended on the stats#from your last run#I think it must have been like a roguelike situation where if you die you die#and it was split like. between visual novel segments and wave-based fighting segments#that were just on that one level#also there was good music I think#the game was VERY pink. <- positive#herearedragons speaks#anyway I like the 'fighting playstyle influences story' idea#because in the dream it forced me to try and master different styles#to get new dialogue/content#like if I wanted the dodging-based trait I HAD to master dodging#and if I wanted the trait based on my damage output or whatever I had to learn to play aggressivelt

I woke up this morning from the weirdest this-fandom related dream ever. So, in my dream, Vash and Wolfwood were sitting by a campfire and griddle talking about weird meats. They had some weird meats with them, as in meats from different animals that they were planning on cooking and eating. Vash drew out a plastic wrapped package (vacuum pack, looked like my local store brand) that looked like a pork chop, but declared that it was, in fact, human meat. He'd gotten it from a little post-apocalyptic Noman's Land shop that specialised in such things. He said that, as a Plant, he wanted to try it to see if he was compatible for eating human. Dream!Vash? What the actual FUCK?!!! And so unwrapped it and put it on the griddle and creeped out Wolfwood, but Wolfwood understood. Something like that. And then I flashed back into my body. This entire scenario was one that I was writing as a fanfic on a public counter in some kind of cafeteria at an anime convention. Above it, appearing almost immediately, was a fancomic someone else did on the upright part of the counter that recounted the events of my fanfiction (a fancomic of my fanfiction) except that whoever did it made it more Vashwood than I had intended my story, ending it with Vash and Wolfwood kissing. At the same time, I was thinking "My fanfic doesn't deserve this, it's not that good. It's not like Sin Eaters by dragonofeternal, which has a similar theme done much better." Yes, I was literally thinking of a real fic I'd read in my dream! I commented aloud on the comic that "This is more Vashwood than I'd intended, but I'll take it." As in, it's not really my ship, no one that I see as canon, but I like people in fandom shipping whatever they like and I enjoy Vashwood when it's done well and makes sense, which it kinda did in this fancomic even though it was inspired by my fanfic, which hadn't gone in that direction. Cue some snotty twenty-something with blueish purple dyed long pigtails and a Goth look sitting around nearby looking at all of this informing me "Vashwood is canon." and I said "No it's not." And she argued that she'd read some very obscure comic where it was - and it turns out we had both, by then, shifted into Batman fandom and she was referencing some obscure storyline in which Batman and Robin had fucked like animals. I further argued that I was going by a very specific canon (ala, "Batman the Animated Series" - which was somehow Trigun now), but concededed that while I wasn't as much into the deep lore of the comics, that I wouldn't be surprised if Batman/Robn (Vash and Batman now? Huh?) was canon in some form. Brain.... what are you doing?

Wonderful news to share: Today I acquired the sacred knowledge of how to use a printer! (A skill that has long eluded me for more than I can remember.)
For a while, I’ve been experiencing headaches from looking at my screen, (after lowering my brightness, reading in night mode, trying a pair of blue light glasses.) With nothing getting done, I ventured out to try printing my draft, wondering if I would have an easier time with the process on paper.
Lo and behold, my friends… When I held that physical copy, I swear my writing was ten-times better! Imperfect of course, but what was once an abomination I hated looking at now seemed like an acceptable step towards actually being a story!!! I swear, it was so official, I actually felt like an author!
So, um… physical ink on paper is a really cool thing. In addition to touching grass, remember to make something you can hold once in a while. Your hard work seems so much more valuable when it’s something you can finally interact with.
That’s the end of my speech. Printers are cool— Bye!

MUCH. of it flows exactly like blank verse. it kinda bothers me#i do dream about editing and publishing my own edition of behn's plays and i would definitely amend these to be verse#i wonder if montague summers' version is verse? idk this is the first janet todd edited play ive read#i dont yet know the differences between their editing styles#god i wish more than 2 ppl in history had ever bothered to edit and publish this woman's collected works#oxford world classics should definitely put out another volume of her plays#i love the one they have featuring the rover/feigned courtesans/lucky chance/emperor of the moon#but she's got what like 15 other extant plays? and oxford world classics has the range and capabilities to do it#or if penguin classics ever wants to pretend they're really as good as oxford they can print their own#as far as diversifying the canon and widening the availability of older texts. oxford still beats penguin any day#but it does piss me off that no classic book publishers take this period of early-modern women's drama and proto-novels very seriously#or rather. no big ones that i know other than oxford#im not counting print-on-demand companies that reprint the texts of public domain works w no editing#those serve a purpose but those are not leaders in the publishing industry for a reason. theyre not sposta be

I strongly believe that I had the similar power as Wednesday did that morning lol since she has visions of the past and future. I don’t practice black magic or anything witchcraft or worship anything dark whatsoever I am a Christian young woman but I felt like I was experiencing my first vision it was cool as I am a fan of Wednesday. I see a lot of familiar faces in my dreams as well and people who I know in real life like family members and people I don’t even know. I am also vegan and an animal lover.”

I also had a dream about my grandmother who passed away and she visited me in my dream I still miss her very much. My mother frequently has dreams about family members too and she has dreams about her mom who passed away too and she still feels sad and misses her mom. I feel that her and I are just like Wednesday and Morticia since they have visions too. My dreams are unique and always remember that everyone and you too are unique in your own way diversity is what makes this world great and a better place so be proud to be you and don’t change for anyone just be yourself. noclip documentary on Legacy of Kain coming out in November, just in time to properly hype me up for the remaster coming out in December
#my entire relationship with the Legacy of Kain series is that my brothers rented Soul Reaver from blockbuster when i was in. 4th grade?#and of course I couldn't play but i watched them play about an hour and i was OBSESSED#and then i was never able to play it at all ever#how much of that game did i actually see them play? no idea#i just have flashes of a memory of raziel slinking around killing people and it might have been my first video game crush lmaooo#by the time i was old enough to think 'huh i should maybe play this for myself' it was too old to work on any equipment i had access to#i never watched a lets play (which i did for a lot of video games i couldnt play in highschool). maybe i couldnt find one?#every now and then ive remembered it and felt a Longing#no way it lives up to the half-remembered dream of an impression its left in my brain#google let me know this summer that the graphic novel was happening and i thought.... hmmm....#so when they finally did announce the remaster i felt a) vindicated b) sad that im breaking my 'no new games' THRICE this year

Honestly, if I thought it might actually be possible to just... exorcise the Amy brainrot from my head and move on with my life, fic ideas unwritten, fics unread and Worm unfinished, I'm tempted to.
Not because of the brainrot itself, but because of how fucking annoyed thinking about Ward and all the Ward-era WoG shit Wildbow pulled gets me.
#Grumping#Anti-Wildbow#I just-#This guy writes this character and then proceeds with Ward and all the Ward WoG to undo literally everything that makes her interesting or#even like a narratively meaningful part of Worm#If that really was his intent the whole time than HOLY SHIT even just going off Interludes 2 and 3 he failed so fucking hard at it given hi#WoGs about Interlude 3#and like if he's that fucking bad of a writer than wtf?#or he genuinely did change his mind or overcompensate because people 'weren't getting it' and that's just even#more bullshit#and like - getting pissy at Creators for this sort of shit is common in fandom and hardly new for me but it's all still so burningly active#and I don't need this sort of negativity in my life#but I do actually enjoy a lot of the worm fics I'm reading and the fics I'm dreaming up and most days I don't really think about this shit#that much and writing fics and people reading fics I write does in fact spark joy and will give me the sort of outlet to get past all this#crap#speaking from experience#but I have to actually get there#and then the smug assholes of the fandom who get really fucking snotty about 'canon' and 'fanon' and hang off Wildbow's every word like he'#a fucking prophet as if he hasn't been wrong and inconsistent in his own WoG before#and like the worst part is he is a good writer and a compelling writer but he's quite clearly a shitty person as far as I can tell like#maybe person to person he's fine but sweet fucking jesus#I need to stop letting him and stupid asshole BNFs live rent free in my head#Kylia Writes a Novel In the Tags#A fucking trilogy even#fml
