So I have a theory about MLP

Fluttershy is disabled.

She says herself that she's a weak flier. We barley see her fly and when she does it's for short periods or barely off the ground. She normally walks everywhere.

While I don't think she's like Scootaloo and can't fly, I think her disability is chronic pain. It hurts for her to fly at all or for long periods or distances.

Elder Flower's Greedy Bat Theory

Shining Armor made the shield.

i was watching this video on what the meaning behind Elder Flower's greedy bat story could be. they brought up a great point that bats could've been a specific choice to represent alicorns because they have wings.

Some of their theories said that the bat 'Dawn' is Luster Dawn and possibly this means she became an alicorn, but honestly, she was an extremely minor character, I don't think she'd be used like this, though its not impossible. I do think it's more likely that it's Twilight, Twilight could easily be represented with the Dawn from her color palette and the fact that she controls both the sun and moon, and Dawn is the time in between night and day.

So following that bats = winged alicorn, I'd guess that that would mean the spider would have to be something else, and what non-alicorn do we know that has shield related powers, who Twilight would go to for help, and who has been explicitly shown in a photo this chapter? Shining Armor.

Also Elder Flower brought up going to a wedding with shapeshifting ponies right before telling this story. (i dont think she was actually there i think shes experiencing visions)

i don't know if i believe this theory at all tbh but i was watching that video and brain was like bro what if

It's a really simple algorithm for it.  All MLP Characters have a certain amount of syllables in their names - based in importance to the story.

She's not only the main character - but her name is the only one with 4 syllables. Now - let's look at some MINOR characters -

Colorshy's views on the magical universe of MLP

So this post is going to contain a fair amount of ideas and views of what happens in the MLP Universe. So you might want to sit down and enjoy my odd ways of thinking; All of which is going to be unbiased from the teasers of My Little Pony Season 4. Little to none evidence will be given, these are all personal ideas, influenced by some other MLP Fan ideas. Read all of these after the break. Disclaimer: These all requires a pre-existing knowledge of the MLP Universe.

Death--

Death is a given anywhere, we only saw a funeral in one episode. My idea is that when a pony dies their Cutie Mark vanishes from their skin. This is how we get some ponies with somewhat similar Cutie Marks in older generations. The cutie mark is the ponies special talent, undoubtedly some ponies are great at the same thing over time. They however don't keep their exact Cutie Mark, they receive a variant of their old Cutie Mark.

Changelings--

The definition of a Changeling is creature left in place of a child. This supports my idea of: Changelings where originally a filly or a colt that where lead away into the Everfree Forest by a mysterious force or figure. The young ponies are then captured, cocooned and converted into Changeling. The holes in their legs? Lack of calcium from the "Husk process" The body is just an exoskeleton created during the cocooning. Their skin is peeled away with time and a insect like creature is exposed. A Changeling. Changelings are capable of shape-shifting into any pony approximately their size. Some can speak as the pony they are disguised as, their only flaw? Speech patterns, we all have our own, some ponies use a selective vocabulary. Big Mac is an example, he normally speaks with "Yep"s and "Nope"s. No changeling would know this. Changelings, now missing skin and having acquired less mass from the conversion, now weigh less then an average pony, but so do Pegasi, when a Changeling flies it has the sound of paper-like wings flapping rapidly, rather then the long slow strokes of a normal Pegasi.

Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Discord, King Sombra--

Princess Celestia can raise the rotate the planet that the ponies in habit an accelerated rate or decelerated rate. Princess Celestia doesn't control the sun, just the planet's rotation. Princess Luna doesn't control the moon; Princess Luna controls the universe. With power to do that Luna went corrupt with power and was banished to the moon. Luna didn't go corrupt on her own she was influenced by Discord, the sole controller of Disharmony. King Sombra took over the Crystal "Kingdom" by dark magic, An arcane most likely studied by Star Swirl and most evidently Princess Celestia. Sombra may or may not have a connection with Discord, after all he is using Black or Dark magic. 

Pony Lifespans--

Pony lifespans could possibly not end at all, some lasting more then a couple thousand years. Ponies believe in life-after-death. Such as Twilight Sparkle becoming a winged unicorn (Alicorn) or Princess Celestia knowing that Twilight Sparkle would fill the role as a Harmony holder, along with her friends. "You come a very long way; I've watched you since the very first day." Now that isn't very clear, Celestia could meant from the first day she became her apprentice, or the first day of her life. This is also why I believe Cutie Marks vanish upon death. (*See Death)

Equestria and more--

Equestria as far as we can tell isn't the whole world in the ponies' case. Equestria might have multiple countries surrounding it with sentient beings that have no idea the ponies even exist. A few sentient creatures we've seen are: Dragons, Ponies, Horses, Diamond Dogs, Griffins, and Changelings.

Equestria and it's military-- 

Equestria has a standing military that is visibly active. There are 5 races of ponies: Unicorn, Pegasus, Earth, Bat. Only Unicorn, Pegasus, Earth and Bat ponies have been seen as guards. Bat ponies are Princess Luna's Royal Transport. Unicorn, Pegasus, and Earth are all under Celestia's command. Unicorns seem a likely candidate for using bows and manning big weapons such as catapults. Pegasi are seen using Javelins and Spears. Earth ponies are more likely to use the same weapons as Pegasi, but have been shown to be messengers.
