Agreed. Andrew is my favorite version of Peter, the vibe of his movies really speak to me. I love the scene you’ve mentioned, but it breaks my heart because of Gwen’s fate. However I would love to do that for Miles and Gwen. Right now I’ve got a lot of pieces in progress, so don’t expect it right away, but if I find a chance to do it I will ✨

I really enjoyed drawing their kiddos and had every intention of drawing them differently from the comics. I wanted to do my own interpretation of their kids since the spiderverse style if different from the comics. I actually based Gwen’s braids on some of her concept art, I loved that look (it’s viking-ish which I dig) so I wanted to do something with it.

Though Miles and Gwen 42 are not exactly canon, I still love the idea of them and so I’m glad you have enjoyed what I have made.

There was a man who looked like Sammy in the studio. But he was not Sammy.

At least, people were pretty sure this wasn't Sammy. For starters, he spoke with a Southern accent. It was a thick one too. None of them could place where it was from, exactly, but it was very different from Sammy's normally flat accent.

Second, he was friendly. Incredibly friendly. He'd walked into the studio and immediately struck up a conversation with the employees who had been milling around in the entrance area. Sammy never talked to anyone until he'd had his coffee. And even when he had, other people usually had to initiate conversations. Sammy didn't just walk up and start talking to people unless it was about work. This action had thrown all of the employees for a loop, except for Susie, who had immediately responded as if this was completely normal.

"This is kinda freakin' me out, man," Wally whispered to Henry as the two of them watched this strange Sammy lookalike cheerfully chattering with Susie. "I never thought I'd see Sammy's face lookin' so...happy."

"It is... a little weird," Henry admitted. He was having a bit of a hard time wrapping his head around this, partially because of how tired he currently was.

On one hand, he was pretty sure this wasn't Sammy. It wasn't like Sammy to play a prank like this. But on the other hand... Sammy had been known to do unexpected things when pushed by spite.

He was about to go ask this Sammy lookalike if they could help him with something when Bendy suddenly entered the room. With Sammy behind him.

All of the employees froze, staring between Sammy and his lookalike with open mouths. Aside from Susie, Sammy, and his lookalike. Even Bendy looked shocked.

"...I'm not the only one seein' this, right?" He said. "There's two of 'em, right?"

"We see it too," Henry confirmed.

"Hey, Sam!" The lookalike gave a big smile, waving to Sammy. "Hope you don't mind my droppin' by."

"It's fine." Sammy waved a hand dismissively. "You seem to have broken my coworkers, though."

"Who is he?!" Wally yelled, pointing at the lookalike. "Why does he look like you?!"

"Oh, this is Sammy's brother!" Susie supplied brightly. "His name's Peter!"

"You have a brother?!" One of the other workers exclaimed.

"Can't believe you have a brother and you never told us." Bendy shook his head in exaggerated disappointment.

"Sam does like to keep his cards close to his chest," Peter laughed. "Been that way since we were kids."

"People don't get to know things about me unless I want them to." Sammy folded his arms.

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Peter." Henry stepped forward, extending a hand. "What brings you by the studio?"

"Nice to meet you too!" Peter replied. "I was just droppin' by for a visit." He paused before adding, "And because Mom and Dad are worried about Sam."

Susie looked over at Sammy, eyebrow raised. "You haven't been calling them, have you?"

Sammy pointedly avoided looking at anyone, arms still folded. His silence spoke volumes.

"Tsk tsk, Samuel." Bendy continued to shake his head,. "You can't go makin' your parents worry like that."

"I just forget, alright?" Sammy grumbled. "I have a lot on my plate. Calling gets... lost along the way."

"Which is why I'm here to remind you." Peter closed the distance to put a hand on Sammy's shoulder.

Sammy slowly turned to face him, his eyes narrowed. "You came here on purpose to embarrass me, didn't you?"

"Not specifically to embarrass you." Peter's smile widened. "I wanted to meet your coworkers too!"

Sammy let out a long sigh, rolling his eyes. "You're lucky I have good coworkers."

"I wouldn't have done this if you didn't."

"Oh!" Susie clapped her hands together. "While you're here, we have to show you the Music Department!" She didn't wait for a response, immediately grabbing Sammy and Peter's arms and beginning to drag them away.

"Wait, no! I need to show Henry the song!" Sammy protested.

"I'll show him!" Bendy assured him, arm snaking out to snatch the papers from Sammy's hand.

And with that, the Lawrence brothers were dragged away by Susie. There was a moment of silence before Wally suddenly asked, "D'you think he's got any embarrassing stories about Sammy?"

Bendy grinned, looking positively demonic as he rubbed his hands together. "If he does, we're gonna get every one of 'em."

Henry just smiled to himself. He had a feeling Sammy wasn't going to live this down for a while.

rumi - lived several consecutive lives of tragedy trying to shield themselves from terrible trauma by taking on new identities, coming to the point they lost track of who they really were, they became rumi after acquiring the holy blade which was used as a way for zuen to feed rumi visions that enforced the identity zuen wanted them to have and rumi spends the campaign becoming disillusioned with said identity and in the end becomes elena <- and this is very much a summary but rest assured rumi is very identity fucked

exandroth - eldritch angel who i headcanon was influenced by zuen to become a bloodthirsty retribution seeking guy, has a very wounded ego and took that out on peter, over the campaign picks up human traits and is less bloodthirsty, BUT THEN GETS STABBED and starts wanting to possess rumi and acts like rumi probably wants to be rumi, but then you find out that exandroth has a peter form like WHAT THE FUCK did she start being that when possessing peter does exandroth even consider itself an angel anymore, and it actually IS an angel which exandroth literally got (as far as we know) all the rest of her kind killed, so he's very much an outlier, also gave up maybe its literal heart or like symbolically its heart or like some sort of essence probably to make the robots who did the killing, you know i like to imagine that exandrothwas given a robot heart in return like yeah robotic angel now

thanatos - a guy who's soul was put in a robot who then became a murder robot guy, who was then abducted by the royal family and made to believe he wasnt a murder robot guy, but then he remembered he WAS a murder robot guy, and he killed his adoptive dad and left to go on the robot murder mission he was given but then learnt to be more than just a murder robot, also he meets tristan who also made him who is like "you should totally just blow up the world" like he put than in thanatos' coding, also exandroth who was his bro also turned out to be his mom???? hey . oh also he's the last murder robot out of all the murder robots that all looked exactly like him.

rolan deep - so rolan was a kid that died and then rolan deep the bug came out of it who still had the memories of original rolan who carried out school life and left the hive that had been starting so the hive was like "lol wait we sorta needed him" so rolan goes off and probably utterly dosnt like himself becomes an alcoholic and drinks so much than he literally is built different, then he comes back to galloway and starts the bug apocalypse and doesnt know he's a bug but finds out and its like oh shit!! but thne hes like nah i think im still a guy and then like helps blow up the hive you know how it is.

roachel rant - aka the hive queen who first assimilated rachel into the hive and we dont really have a gague for how much rachel influenced her but it's my headcanon that the entire concept of a human collective whatever was pulled from rachel and informed how the hive would end up being structured and that roachel rant actually shares a lot with rachel rand like the hive queen and rachel rand become roachel rant something new that is sort of both of them but neither of them and roachel rant isnt even evil but like misguided after having to rationalise human concepts when she's actually a bug alien, do you think they were even bugs or did rachel make them take the form of bugs maybe rachel had a bug interest after all they ARE imposter things what if they were never bugs at all and that was all rachel's influence

okay wait. I watched Into the Spiderverse yesterday again and i have more thoughts. And questions. I have so many questions.

They really did plan a lot this form the beginning, huh?

The 42 was very obviously planted everywhere, even at the start of the movie, like damn, talk about holding it under our nose and us not seeing it lol. The theme of the movie was put right under our nose by that essay Miles had to write about expactations and who he wants to be. At the end of Itsv he found an answer for himself and that answer is bascially what he upholds in atsv when he's confronted with....well the Everything. It's also seen in the mural he draws which is a loopy silhouette of himself that's eerily smiliar to Spot (talk about creating your own threat lol)

(also for how long are ppl (in the movies i mean) going to blame Miles for things Fisk and Doc Oc did. They ripped the hole in the multiverse. They created the collider. Miles had literally nothing to do with that. Like. 'you ripped a hole in the multiverse'. no. The others did, they got the spider over here from 42 and they were the ones losing said spider. Miles literally had no doing in ANY of that. My boy was just trying to live his life and stumble trhough the lyrics of his fav song)

And given that they obviously planned so much aheard... Didn't Gwen already save her dad? Isn't the canon already disrupted?

In her flashback in itsv we already see in the shadow her punching Green Goblin and him turning into Peter. But she also said 'saved my dad' with the visual of pulling him out of a bullet's way. The 'canon' event so far has been 'a police officier close to Spidey getting crushed after saving a child'. So maybe that wasn't the canon event but isn't not being able to save the captain A Thing?

And in atsv Gwen's dad has quit. He's the captain she's closest to. So her world, her canon is already disrupted. Her universe isn't collapsing. Also as we have seen with the spidey people in itsv not everyone had an uncle die on them. It was their father (Peni), best friend (Gwen) and Uncle Ben(jamin) (Noir/Peter B.). And we've seen in atsv so many more Spidey ppl so who's to say there aren't more options about this? Who says that it has to be death? you're telling me in infinte possiblities there isn't one spiderman out there that avoided the whole death thing?

Also, in itsv Gwen was blown into last week. Meaning the displacement wasn't just world, but also time. Is that important? How did the Time Part play into the Space Time Collapse? Why is Gwen the only one so far we've seen being affected not only by Space but also by Time? Also what 'canon' event did Miguel interrupt for his universe to collapse? And what happened in Pav's world with the big blob that took out part of his world? Can it be contained? How? And if it can be contained, can that be used against Spot?

Guess who just saw Spiderverse again. Holy smokes I liked it even better the second time. The art design that went into this movie, the care and the craft. I wish this had come out while I was still in college because I know all my friends would have been raving about it and we would have all gone in a big group to see it multiple times together.

I noticed so many little details this second time, just little art and design details that I didn’t notice before because I was too busy being blown away the first time. And details like Miguel swearing in Spanish, lol, which I TOTALLY didn’t catch the first time. (The only Spanish I learned from my dad: swear words. Thanks dad) I also noticed Miguel say “shocking”.

Ok so I’ve been reading fics on here and it was driving me a bit nuts, everyone was censoring his swearing and make him say shock or shocking instead of fuck. What was this, some annoying new TikTok censoring thing or what? But then I learned this is what he says in the comics, so it was funny. Then hearing him say it in the movie and know what it is was even funnier. ESPECIALLY when he’s just straight up saying fuck in Spanish, lmao.

Miguel is definitely my absolute fav, what an intriguingly written and animated character. It’s funny what an impression he leaves when he’s really not even in the movie for that much screen time. That man’s been through some shit. There’s some… really strange discourse happening right now with him and imma just go ahead and ignore the whole thing and stay in my lane.

I still stand by what I said before, I don’t care for Peter B’s characterization in this, but I can forgive it because of the way they had him kissing Mayday’s little baby head all the time, cause that’s exactly what you do when you carry a baby like that.

Ugh. I just got home but I want to go out and see it again. I haven’t ever wanted to scrub frame by frame through an entire movie as bad as this before.

also as I'm editing this in the end I realise i understood this completely wrongly– and used this as fav dialogue about the duo so sorry!

so, so so many (from the five pages that we have)

1) i had to do this as the first one okay, this sentence lives in my head RENT FREE i had to

like can we scream about itttt it's been 14 years 14 freaking years and yes, granted sirus didn't get a chance to cope or do anything

but even the the amount of frankly devotion (@padfootastic used that word once and i have to yet shut up about it it's the most perfect word for them) is mesmerizing.

2) You say you remember him at Hogwarts, Rosmerta,’ murmured Professor McGonagall. ‘Do you remember who his best friend was?’

‘Naturally,’ said Madam Rosmerta, with a small laugh. ‘Never saw one without the other, did you? The number of times I had them in here – ooh, they used to make me laugh. Quite the double act, Sirius Black and James Potter!’

rosmerta you have my heart for saying these words, the world may consider you a throwaway side character, but not to me– you, along with prof. flitwick spoke the golden words about the friendship between james and sirius. first time reading it inwas like oh shit that's bad to be betrayed like that but on subsequent rereads you're like– oh, oh shit that's bad how did they even think Sirius could something like that to james

3) the 800 word story. it's such a unique perspective on these two messers from canon perspective cause we don't really see them interact (untainted by anything else, ever) because the story fucking starts with james dying they are shown in a very angst heavy scene throughout. and we don't really have anyone to show all the lovely beautiful boyish young parts of them.

and this story was wonderful in showing that– them racing the bike, elevendork , the bantering and also the the sudden ease with which they transform from two 19 year olds to war soliders and also the ease with which they took them down i have no doubt that this James Potter thrice defied voldemort

4) this is a mix of every little and not so little moment from canon that just manages to ruin me with 100 paper thin cuts and I'm not even mad at it– the mirrors for detention, Godfather, best man, running away to james, becoming animagi for remus (somehow i really don't think peter thought of doing this), "probably slytherin" and "i thought you seemed alright" maybe I'll break the tradition (aw kid, you're definitely gonna shake things up dw) also young sirus black in chapter one when re-read ing it hurts so much. just the myriad of pain and love that they are.
