here's what it is I think. it's so hard to just enjoy stupid shit anymore bc it's all so commercialized. commodified. we couldnt just enjoy frogs and mushrooms- I have to see 30 posts a day that are reblog bait for people's Etsy collections of pride colored mushroom themed frogs. we couldn't take away anything of weight from be gay do crime, instead I have to see it slapped onto every conceivable piece of merchandise in every font under the sun, for years on end. it's not fun anymore. it makes me hate things I used to enjoy.

#this very nearly happened to highland cows which have been my favorite animals for years & years #but people lost interest in them before i had to deal with the commodification burnout thank god #i know everyone needs to get their bag but fuck dude how many bubble style frog stickers does etsy need #how many be gay do crimes possoms in inoffensive sanrio styles can you stomach #theres nothing interesting or unique about this anymore its content for the content mill #its corporate art style for poor people im so tired of seeing it EVERYWHERE

Fixing history using the power of editing and my editing skills!!

For today we have, New Titans (1980) Issue #100

✨ Wedding Special ✨

@robstarblog @robstaryeah pinging yall just in case so that this doesn't get lost in oblivion (It'd be painful since I worked 5 hours non stop on it lol)

I think the most time was taken by the final panel and adding in the finishing touches since I pretty much had to change everything to the pixel level, quite literally lol (I'm serious, I did)

Welp I hope the results were worth it! And with that, another one gets a good ending!!

I kinda didn't add sleeves in the first two panels of the final page because it didn't look good and looked janky with how I was editing it so yeah please ignore that-

As a big sibling with a lil sib with epilepsy, when they read TBC they Honestly thought if they got struck with lightning reciting the lord's prayer they'd be cured like Shadowsight is from their epilepsy. I had a discussion with them on how that's not how it works, but ge was so upset they took it away from Shadowsight that he hasn't picked the books back up and has stated that 'he hopes Ashfur wins and starts a new religion.,'

I do not even know how to respond to this besides saying that your little sibling is 100% right to be pissed and I now also hope Ashfur wins and starts a new religion.

#Legit I did not know that Shadow's epilepsy being taken away was so deeply upsetting to SO MANY people #I put it back because putting it back was just the right thing to do (even asked the small following I had at the time what type to portray #(they picked the full tonic-clonics. I would have just done localized or absence if they'd asked me to)#And I did all that research for one single anon who asked for an epilepsy herb guide #So holy cow I didn't know that SO MANY people were snubbed and upset by canon's choice to do that. I'm so sorry #Your little sib isn't missing anything btw they do just go on to confirm that Shadow no longer has seizures.#In book 4 of TBC they say that it was all Ash all along and that's what they've stuck with into ASC #I'm sitting on an essay about... That plot thread. The Ashfur Grooming one #But it's in my drafts because I was a bit afraid of controversy #because i think it was written poorly. Even on top of Book 4's pivot to retcon away Shadow's seizures #I know a lot of people like and are invested in the grooming subplot of TBC. But. I think it was executed AWFULLY #and its really telling that THIS is the plot they tout as grooming *by name* in-canon.--#--and that Shadow has to 'pay' for what he 'did' in some way as if there was ever a choice in the books they wrote--#--But seemingly didn't even seem to clock that what was happening in Spotted's H was grooming until there was intense backlash #and a big part of my contention is the way that Book 4 suddenly tries to retcon that Shadow was groomed from the time he was a child #when it was actually part of book 1 that Shadow was able to personally tell the difference between a real vision and Ash's suggestions--#--BECAUSE he didn't have an accompanying seizure #So like... just know it's also NOT just 'you' if you connected to the character that was epileptic. It WAS there. It was a BIG part of him #Book 4 retconned it so that his epilepsy was part of a long scheme when before that point it was part of him #''ohh ur destiny is to see into the shadows'' BULL SHIT!!#bone babble

to be deeply incredibly annoying about interior design: something that bugs me in the interior design/decor influencing space is how Stuff will be accumulated not because it has any real emotional meaning to the designer/homeowner, bur simply because it "looks nice" or "fits the vibe" or "is elegant" or whatever. this is less about, like, furniture and more about art that populates these spaces. the idea that you swap out art seasonally or will grab endless kitschy knick knacks from the thrift store to populate your shelves and your walls (don't get me started on the book collectors who Collect To Collect and not to read) really sits poorly with me. art being a vehicle for mindless consumerism does make me want to gnaw on metal.

#also please don't get offended by any of this -- I'm not speaking about the average homeowner here #like I have a 7yo metal golden cow skull from Target because it looks cool obvs not all my design choices are made w/ Great Personal Meaning #I'm speaking to the influencers and stylists and others who are really just trying to churn out content and thus cycling in and out things #in order to keeo the content rolling... which sits poorly w me because it feels antithetical to building a meaningul personal collection
