“If you’re cold, I can get a fire started,” Carlos says and already walks to the stone oven in the corner. There is a single log inside it on the gray stones that will not last for long but TK doesn’t comment on it. He expects Carlos to just look at it to have flames spring up or just think about it, but instead Carlos twists around and retrieves something from a drawer. Blanket around his shoulders, TK walks over, curious to see why it takes a while to find Carlos retrieving a long lighter from its packaging. 

There is no flame yet, but TK feels a little warmer as he stands behind Carlos. It makes him wonder if there is heat radiating off the men or if it comes from within himself. Carlos stiffens when he notices his presence, but doesn’t acknowledge him as he brings the lighter to the log.

The flame that erupts from it grows larger, too large to be natural, and yet the log doesn’t seem to catch on for a while.

“Fire isn’t my affinity,” Carlos says when the log still doesn't burn properly.

“Affinity?” TK settles down on the ground beside Carlos.

“Elementals can’t master all elements equally. We can use all of them, just not to the same degree. There's usually one or two elements that come easier and more naturally to us.”

“What are your affinities?”

“Earth and water.”

Somehow, that doesn’t surprise TK. There is a calm to Carlos, that makes TK feel like he is sitting on sun-warmed soil near a river, eyes on a steady flow that echoes in the air like a gentle murmur. It would be easy to sink into it, slump to the side and into Carlos, and finally settle from a life in mid-air.

Remembering I can draw fanart for my own fics, SO BEHOLD! The most mentally sound halves of a fusion imaginable! Technically a redraw of art I did way earlier for the same fic! Flexing my art muscles and thinking about these two is good for the soul. Love them. Bastards to write though. I can't wait to write them fused back together, but we're not here yet and it's AGONY.

Hi Ghost. I read your Robin fic, and I'm wondering if you can recommend other "gay" stories. It's pride, and I'm just not seeing a whole lot out there.

to be completely honest, the only actual queer stories i’ve read in the fandom have been centered around steddie.

because, like you’ve said, there’s not a whole lot out there outside of that.

i’m going to offer up my steddie recs (not steddie x reader but solely steddie, although there are some magnificent steddie x reader fics that include lovely feelings brewing between the boys!!), but also… followers, help some friends out? reblog with some of your favorite queer fics? pretty please?

i would recommend (and most are ao3 recs so be prepared for heavy emotional themes and canon haha):

sticky notes (has been discontinued, but also includes HOH!steve)

heartbreak hotline (includes smut/phone sex)

off the beaten path (challenging the headcanon of eddie knowing he’s gay and steve being clueless - steve realizes he’s gay before eddie does)

keep it steady, eddie (pretty popular amongst steddie fans so you might have heard of it already! includes robin x vickie)

i like to see you in the morning light (fix it fic for canon, where steve was eddie’s alibi when he survives 😌)

and of course, one of my ultimate steddie fic recs and one of my ultimate fic recs for this entire fandom, the lathe. this is the time loop fic for the fandom. i won’t be taking criticism. it made me bawl like a baby and was one of the first major fics i ever read in the fandom. i’ll never sing high enough praise for it. the twists in it are fucking remarkable. it’s just. it’s an experience. also, very popular, and for very good reason.

i would like to note that i haven’t read most of these in a hot minute, so my brief recounts aren’t very helpful probably. also, i know there’s a few notable authors amongst steddie readers, but i only included fics i’ve personally read.

as i said, i’m begging for anyone who sees this who has more queer fic recs to add to do so! i know there’s several in the fandom currently compiling lists as well as there’s been a few robin fics coming across my dash — i just haven’t read them yet! most of my queer fics i’ve gathered from ao3 as you can see lol. in ao3 we trust in this household 🫡

Hear me out, bi-han or any mk1 man with a goth/emo reader? like they dress super dark and listen to metal but are super fun and extroverted and like are super nice and caring??

-I'll start by saying that Bi-Han doesn't care about people appearance. -If he gets close to you, it's because Bi-han appreciates your brain and personality. Just looks won't take you anywhere (it's the starting point, he just hates everyone equally) -He enjoys your presence. Your caring side makes him warm all over his body. -Plus, you are able to make him laugh! You should win an award for this. -Sadly, Bi-Han isn't a fan of metal music. He has sensitive ears, and that kind of sound is a bit too harsh for him. -Doesn't mean he isn't in love with you enough to gift you a building where you can listen to it undisturbed.

Day 13 - Shikoku

This looks a little bit wonky because streaming the process live when you haven't done it in like a decade is pretty nerve wracking 😂 But it was nice! Will definitely do again. Just maybe not for the next one already, I'll first have to see if the stress of it has any repercussions for my health at all.

Speaking of stress... I accidentally didn't save the .clip file after finishing 🥲🥲🥲 so I just have the empty file I saved before I started and if I ever want to do anything else with it I'll have to work on top of the jpg. But the timelapse and the large jpg are saved and that's more important probably.
