I need MAWS (Ny Adventures With Superman) to effect everyone’s brain chemistry like it’s effected mine bc. Guys they gave Superman autism. And like not subtly.

Clark’s entire internal conflict is that he feels out of place, weird, and misunderstood. He calls himself weird a lot. And crucially- it’s not that SUPERMAN feels like a weirdo when he’s in costume and saving people, CLARK KENT feels like a weirdo. People remark that there’s something off about him.

His entire childhood of being told to hide his quirks, eventually leading to self-isolation as he feels like he can’t make friends? The fact that his first real friend after getting his powers was Jimmy, a fellow weirdo, who he met in college? “You’ve saved my life 12 times?” I’m screaming I love them so much

And the MELTDOWN. Granted he pushes through it, but the super-hearing and sleep deprivation gets to him so bad he starts being unable to fly and slamming into the ground. This really reminded me of violent stims, like banging your head on the wall. Clark’s really good at holding to together so the fact that what takes him down is NOISE? And people staring at him? (And sleep deprivation yeah but mostly the other two). He’s so autism coded.

The black mercy shows us that even if Clark was raised on Krypton he would STILL be considered a weirdo. This isn’t a “all Kryptonians act like this” situation. Brainiac has no reason to treat Clark poorly right now. Ideally, he’d be making Clark feel so loved and so happy he’d never want to leave. But he doesn’t do that, because he’s an AI and Clark is weird even by Kryptonian standards- Brainiac has no clue how to treat him because he doesn’t have data on a Kryptonian like Clark.

Me and my friend did a count of how many times Clark is called something dehumanizing/someone says something dehumanizing in a derogatory way (so like- freak, weirdo, alien, “earth is for earthlings” etc) and season 1 was around 25 and season 2 was around 45? I think? They’re so mean to my boy

i 100% believe every single adaptation of superman should be judged for accuracy based on how well they understand just how completely unhinged lois lane is as a person. because if you think THE lois lane wouldn’t do [fill in the blank], you’re wrong. she absolutely would do that and she will not be apologizing for it. superman being in love with her only succeeded in making her more comfortable and willing to do insanely dangerous things than she already was. because yes, she will 100% launch her body off a skyscraper just to prove a point. and guess what, idiot? she was right, so it was completely worth it and she will be doing it again. i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, lois lane is absolutely bat-shit crazy. clark just happens to be really REALLY into her particular brand of crazy. like there is nothing lois won’t do with the right motivation. she is an absolute force of nature and that should scare the shit out of you.

Clark being autistic headcanons

Stims by flying, helps him clear his head

Hovering like 5 inches off the ground is his version of toe-walking and it’s his preferred way to move, the JL always tells him to stop because it makes him even TALLER

Super destructive meltdowns, all control over his powers goes out the window, though if he’s able to he’ll fly up into the upper atmosphere and that usually helps him relax

Special interest in farming, specifically sustainable farming and agriculture, and cows. He loves cows.

Plays farming games like stardew valley

Lois got him a cow squishmellow and he cried

Hates being out of the loop on stuff, constantly asks Lois to tell him pointless gossip because he just wants to know what’s going on

He’s accidentally very nosy but it definitely helps him be a better journalist

Hyper aware of tone because he’s bad at interpreting it, he thought Bruce hated him for ages before realizing B’s just monotone

Extremely, painfully empathetic. Like can’t watch sad movies because he’ll have a meltdown over the characters being sad empathetic.

Superman is very much a mask, and a very strong one

Incredibly sensitive to noise and smells- Batman keeps ear and nose plugs in his tool belt for Superman
