If there is a spectrum and at one end of the spectrum is Lex Luthor, who represents extreme egotism, arrogance, nihilism, and like big city cynicism, and at the other end of that spectrum is Clark Kent, who represents relentless kindness, optimism, and hope and belief in the good of humanity. Then right in the middle is Lois Lane. Lois believes in kindness and that people are good, but she also has the right amount of ego, arrogance, and big city cynicism to her.

And that is why it’s always so interesting and entertaining to watch her interact with both Lex and Clark because she is just different enough from both of them that it will never be dull. Her dynamics with each of them is always some of the most captivating ones in any story.

jason todd headcanon

post-death jason is really bad at expressing his emotions and asking for help, but the thing is he fucking loves music. so, bruce hooks up a bluetooth sound system through out the whole manor (+ the cave) just for jason. he just plays different songs over the speakers so everyone know what mood he is in and occasionally to ask for help. he also will at random send a song to individual members of the batfam when he want just a particular person to be aware. everyone knows the protocol: if jason starts playing Good Kid from the Lighting Thief or On My Own from Les Mis everyone within the house will quickly locate him and then just exist next to him because he is not doing well and doesn’t want to be alone. they will usually find him sitting somewhere reading a book and they just file into the room and settle in. they don’t say anything or acknowledge the song in anyway because Rule #1 is if jason wants to talk about it he will and you have to wait for him to initiate because if you acknowledge it beforehand he will immediately retreat and get defensive.

Like a scared cat you have to wait for him to come to you.

Are there any ships you would like to end up canon in the show at all?

At the least, would you want Alastor and Lucifer to get along as you depict them in canon or would you rather them stay as petty rivals sort of thing?

Totally get the aspect of enjoying stuff but not wanting them to necessarily be official, I have some things like that myself too. It's just silly fun stuff :3

Given the amount of screen time they are allotted to tell the story of hazbin hotel, it’s difficult for me to imagine that they would have time to cover so many intimate relationships? (Not that it’s impossible)

The relationships between characters is such an incredible and core element of the show which I adore (platonic/familial/enemies/toxic/romantic) but I’m really invested in;

-The story of redemption and Charlie’s role in hell

-The foundations of Heaven and Hell

-The complexities of deal making and soul-ownership

-And MORE SONGS.

And they have the task of balancing all of that information as they tell their story of Hazbin Hotel.

It’s a lot to do in an 8 episode season!! So I guess I just don’t have many expectations for seeing them depict an ace experience in a more intimate relationship—specifically because in Alastor’s case, it seems he doesn’t really even know how to have a real friendship yet? 😅 All his relationships are transactional or duplicitous at the moment (he’s so bad, I love him so dearly)

I want to see him be able to learn how to have a true friend though for sure.

Personally, I do think Lucifer is a great contender for a friend since Lulu doesn’t want anything from Alastor (other than for him to get out of his life lmfao), can’t really be overpowered or scared by Alastor, has so much in common with Alastor, and is forced to live on the same floor of the hotel with him for god knows how long 😂💀

AND THEYRE BOTH LONELY LOSERS HAHAHA

Again, it’s not like it’s impossible to pull off depicting a QPR tastefully! But my expectations pretty much extend to seeing Alastor learn how to make at least one real friend haha. (Hopefully more!! 🥹)

Also lowkey, it would be awesome to see Alastor go through the whole series without being in a relationship (because that’s a pretty bold move and my aro ass would love that)

But yknow, I’m open minded! I’m a good faith fan, I look forward to seeing what they do.

Normally I when to check out when watching Hold them down animatics, or at least look away during Penelopes part, but with you animator I front feel the need to. Yes it made me sick to my stomach but you represented how S/A can be in such a realistic way (coming from a survivor of S/A myself)

About the SA part. I take that matter very seriously, i knew that if I were to draw the act graphically and raw it would not serve any pupose at all. (i'd be even ashamed to draw such a scene)

Also i dont want anyone to look at that segment and think "smash" because of the beautiful voice of Antinous and the handsome charadesign, it would RUIN the song for me.

Whats important (to me) is to portray penelope's suffering gracefully and with dignity. So i opted for psychedelic colors to show the intensity of the moment and the feelings. All the meaningful symbolism are there to distract you from the action and make you think about the mental state and the consequence instead. Its a heavy topic it must be handled with the utmost care.

Also I'm a big hater of sex scenes in mainstream movies and shows wether its SA or just horny out of nowhere.

hi, OP! let me see if i can try to explain.

DC has a not so subtle fetish with making Bruce Wayne as miserable as they possibly can. If there is an opportunity to make Bruce more miserable, then he already is. They are absolutely going to take it and anytime, they let anything good happen to that man it is always a set up to make him more miserable later on. This often results in them characterizing him as a ridiculously awful father. Most people who really love the batfamily hate this characterization of Bruce and the characterization of his relationship relationships with his kids.

And given the nature of comics and how the continuity is constantly changing a lot of fans take up the mentality of accepting what they like from canon and ignoring the rest because it makes them sad and really mad.

Now I wanna say a good percentage of batfamily fans understand and acknowledge that Bruce is not a perfect parent and his relationships with his kids are not perfect. But they definitely do not agree with this idea that Bruce is a horrible parent that would treat his kids the way most of comics depict. or that his kids hate him.

There is a percentage of fans that straight up refuse to believe or acknowledge that Bruce is not a perfect parent with perfect relationships with his kids that are also perfect. I would say they’re loud, but small minority.

This fact is why a lot of the batfamily fans refused to acknowledge or engage with most of canon. Because why would they read about their favorite characters being miserable and sad when they could just not do that? (also since most of comic characters have been around since the 40s all of it could technically be considered fanon/fanfiction if you really think about it.)

I think the only piece of media that the batfamily fandom really really enjoys is the WEBTOON “Wayne’s family adventures”. it has good dynamics between all the members of the batfamily well also still acknowledging that all of them have a lot of baggage and are not perfect. if you haven’t read it, it’s definitely worth the read. It’s really great! and it’s completely free to read!

i hope this helps to explain it a little. as for the rest of DC fans, they more or less subscribe to the same mentality, “take the shit you like from canon, ignore everything else, and filling fill in the holes with your own ideas that you like better”. obviously people take it to varying levels of extreme, but honestly, for the most part, i can’t fault people for deciding to build their own timeline, considering how long comics have been around and how often the canon changes.

DC (more specifically batfam) has one of the only fandoms where I've seen people explicitly and proudly say they refuse to consume or interact with the source material at all. ????????? what ????????? it's genuinely impossible to avoid bullshit ooc fannon stuff because this site is absolutely flooded with it I dont get it

People try too hard to make Curly an active participant in Jimmy's abuse. Isn't the whole point that he's passive in everything Jimmy does? Abuse occurs because he actively doesn't do anything? Not to call someone out or be mean, but I saw a post saying Anya's ID being in Curly's locker at the beginning shows that he intended to prevent Anya from filing an HR report and I disagree. I get where that interpretation is coming from, but I think it's a little uncharitable. I don't like being too kind to Curly because he's like...a morally mid dude at best lol But if we're going by the HR report interpretation, I would say it's more likely he requested Anya's ID in order to file an HR report on her behalf. After all, the only way to contact Pony (that we see) is in the cockpit, he's the Captain, and Pony Express sucks bad so I wouldn't put it past them to only allow the Captain to use the communication device thing. As we see before, Curly is the only one able to use tools around the ship that you would think other employees could use (ex. Swansea should be able to use the axe if he's the repair guy. Idk why they'd need an ax but that falls under manual labor which Swansea is designated for as the mechanic/fixer dude. But it has to go through Curly). I never got the vibe that Curly moved to actively protect Jimmy. He just lets things happen without say a word; Jimmy walks all over him, and by extension, the whole crew. I get why people would think that because he gives the whole "Hey Jimmy, we can get through this together, bud" spiel right before the crash. This part interests me a lot because there's so many ways to interpret Curly's intentions there. My interpretation is that Curly is on autopilot mode. The responses seem so stilted in comparison to Jimmy's. Like it's the kind of thing Curly's said before again and again and again when Jimmy's gotten in trouble. However, as others previously pointed out, I don't think Curly ever dealt with Jimmy doing something this irredeemable. He doesn't know how to respond, so he just goes for the default "You've gotten through tough situations before. Work through it one step at a time." Like the response is lame af lol I think he was in shock; he was scared (and just so I can say it one more time: he's super lame).

Anyway, this is way longer than I intended and I've said things a billion people have already stated. But uhhh tldr the whole point of Curly's character is he's passive; he never acts. He just watches. Making him an active participant in the abuse by taking actions to cover for Jimmy (like preventing Anya from filing an HR report) defeats the purpose of his character. He's a bystander.

i 100% believe every single adaptation of superman should be judged for accuracy based on how well they understand just how completely unhinged lois lane is as a person. because if you think THE lois lane wouldn’t do [fill in the blank], you’re wrong. she absolutely would do that and she will not be apologizing for it. superman being in love with her only succeeded in making her more comfortable and willing to do insanely dangerous things than she already was. because yes, she will 100% launch her body off a skyscraper just to prove a point. and guess what, idiot? she was right, so it was completely worth it and she will be doing it again. i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, lois lane is absolutely bat-shit crazy. clark just happens to be really REALLY into her particular brand of crazy. like there is nothing lois won’t do with the right motivation. she is an absolute force of nature and that should scare the shit out of you.

when it comes to live action my stance is still “lois does in fact lack any and all talent for cooking if she can’t pop it in the microwave or air fryer” like she just doesn’t have a talent for it given the fact that her dad was a military man and they moved around a lot i just assumed it was a skill she never captivated and when she moved out she quickly learned that she also didn’t have a talent for it either. she’s not a total disaster but she is definitely bad at it. she has a few meals that she can manage but other than that she has zero talent. but as far as anything that isn’t live action, all bets are off. as you said she’s lucky if she doesn’t accidentally open a portal or burn down a building.

i just have always thought it was funny if once they start dating and they move in together clark is just like “how are you alive?!” as he watches her devour a tub of ice cream for dinner and she’s just tells him with a mouth full of ice cream “spite.” and clark immediately decides he is now in charge of feeding lois because “clearly she can’t be trusted to do it herself”

quite honestly if bruce doesn’t want to kill the joker, the best way for him to deal with him and ensure he never hurts anyone ever again is to build an underground one room bunker that’s soundproof and made of lead in the middle of the sahara or the amazon, drop his ass inside with like 100ish years worth of supplies, weld the door shut, and then walk away. he never tells anyone what he’s done and he never writes it down anywhere. that information lives only in his head because he knows no one will ever be able to torture that information out of him. i think the only person he might have to give a vague heads up to is superman. because if clark sees a underground bunker made of lead he’s definitely checking it out. so, i think bruce would just be like

bruce: hey, clark, just so you know there is an underground bunker in the middle of the amazon and it’s made of lead and it contains the most dangerous thing on the planet. it must never be opened.

and because it’s clark, he would be like: do you know what exactly is inside it?

bruce: yes.

clark: and to keep the world safe, i just have to do nothing and ignore it?

bruce: yes.

clark: okay.

eventually everyone would forget about the joker and on his deathbed, he’d tell dick about the bunker and dick would tell jason. together dick and jason would go and pry it open and just see a very old joker laying in his bed still laughing and without blinking jason would just shoot him in the head, they would reseal the bunker, leave, and never discuss it again.

but that will never happen because of bruce’s dogmatic and immovable morality. he will always catch the joker, he will always give him a trial, and he will always send him back to arkham. but if i got control of dc comics i would make him do this.

unpopular opinion maybe but sam has been pissing me off lately

i think it started with him laughing in gwen's face about the bonzo thing and (as far as we know) not apologizing???

it's like he only thinks supernatural things can happen to HIM. sam wtf why are you gatekeeping the horrors??

he also only ever listens to celia, alice indulged his magnus thing as long as she could but realized shit was getting dangerous and wanted to protect him

alice is also flawed (jealousy is a bad color on you babe but i forgive you) but like everyone is?? and sam is just dismissing her every word because of it??

he doesn't have to follow her advice but could he at least let her speak??? i hate how dismissive he is, even celia listens to alice more than him

and in episode 24, his "well what can i do about that" mentality was sooooo irritating

he said it twice, when alice said gwen wasn't okay, and when alice said the tape recorder thing was hunting them

1. gwen not being okay could be something you at least pretend to give a shit about, like seriously. everyone tolerates your childhood rejection trauma and you don't bother batting an eye as gwen crumbles? jesus man

and 2. why is it only something 'crazy' when it's not you saying it sam? he expects everyone to believe the evil about the magnus institute (with honestly no evidence? i think we gloss over how little ties the institute actually has rn because we listened to tma) and dismisses alice's concerns that they're all going to die
