Photo Dump from Indy’s Very Own Popcon!

Just to be clear, this was not my only cosplay for this three day event! However, Saturday (yesterday) was the biggest day with the most events, so I did my best cosplay for it! On Friday I was John Marston and my friend was Arthur Morgan from RDR2, and today I just went in a simple gyaru makeup look!

But that’s not what you’re here for!

Here’s my Black Jack cosplay just a few months late of the 50th anniversary year of the series. I knew that since my face is very round and that I have a button nose I wouldn’t be able to do a “one for one” cosplay look that I think would do him justice. So instead of working against my body, I created a look that embraced it… I call it Drag Jack!

Please understand that this was my first ever time doing this cosplay so I ended up putting the skin patch on the wrong side of the face (it’s actually the correct side of the face the wig just is backwards and I forget to flip it), but also I didn’t do the scar on his chin either because I forgot as well, let alone any other scars on my body. Next time I did this cosplay I’ll make sure to fix it!

Full body shot, even though this was in the convention center bathrooms the tile gives that sterile hospital look so I mess with it.

Head shots, as you can tell I’m not good at choosing locations for my photos. I plan on redoing it with better photos and not gluing my brows, so stay tuned!

I really should’ve Got2Be’d those spike before I left house… the strands are everywhere.

Advice for Cosplaying BJ

WET-DRY MAKEUP METHOD!!!! The Wet-Dry method of makeup is used in Drag makeup and many other makeup genres to set face paint or heavy makeup. For Black Jack’s face patch you’re going to want to start with a wet facepaint color and then set it with translucent setting powder so it doesn’t only stay all day, but also looks more matte and not porous. Next time I do this look, I plan to use more so my skin looks a bit flatter.

CREAM CONTOURS!!!! Use a cream based contour to contour your nose, cheekbones, and temples. If you use a powdered contour it will come off VERY easily and it will be hard to get a clean line with. I relied on these cream contours mostly for my nose since, again, I have a button nose so I really wanted to contour that to at least make it look a little thinner and longer.

SAFETY PIN YOUR BOW!!! If you want a bow that looks “cartoony” you won’t get that just by tying a red ribbon around your neck. I sewed and glued my bow then safety pinned it my collar to appear like it was standing up on its own. It’s cute!

WEAR TIGHTS (if you’re doing this specific black jack look lmfao)!!! If I did not wear those tights way too much of my hip would be showing. I’m personally not comfort showing that much of my body, so I wore tights underneath my fishnets. But you do you! I like the darker color since it sorta looks like I’m wearing see through dark tights but matching your skin tone as close as possible can make it seem like you aren’t wearing tights at all even if you actually are! Highly recommend!

DON’T FORGET YOUR EAR!!! This isn’t required but I think it looks nice to put a bit of face paint on your ear to look like the skin patch covers that area as well as your face. It’s a bit more cohesive but also doesn’t matter too much.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO BE CAMPY!!! Black Jack’s character is over-the-top and exaggerated, so you shouldn’t be afraid to do the same. If I really wanted this to be Drag Jack, I would’ve done an entire drag makeup look and I think that would be PERFECT if someone better than I at that kind of makeup does it! The bigger the bow the better too! Get some props like a kids toy stethoscope or a mask or gloves! Monopoly money too haha!!!

Bob Dylan’s nostalgia-packed 1974 tour with The Band gets a massive 27-disc box set—and reveals the most impressive reinvention of his career.

In retrospect, Bob Dylan likened his 1974 reunion tour with The Band to Elvis Presley’s “Fat Elvis” period. It was powerful, sure, but it was nostalgia; creatively unsatisfying. And a cash grab. Ultimately, it showed him the way he didn’t want to go forward, as he recalled in 2004 in Chronicles, Vol.1.

Still, 1974 was a landmark year in rock ’n’ roll, and it was Bob Dylan and the Band who kicked it off in January, playing 40 shows during their six-week trek together—a groundbreaking feat in and of itself—often putting on matinee and evening arena shows to satisfy demand.

If, during his Thin Wild Mercury music period in the mid-1960s, Dylan had given songwriting a new vocabulary, and had created the look and attitude of the modern rock star, in 1974 he updated all of that for a new era, for good measure adding a tour that presaged the bloated, arena-filling tours that would become, and remain, a staple of the music business.

Dylan, who’d released a couple of laid-back country-tinged albums and had performed sparingly since his last tour with The Band in 1966, had signed a new record deal with David Geffen’s Asylum Records—leaving the storied Columbia label—and was about to have his first #1 record, Planet Waves, recorded with The Band. Geffen enlisted the legendary promoter Bill Graham to handle the organization of the entire tour, a highly unusual move at the time, with tickets sold via a mail in lottery. Dylan and The Band even traveled cross-country by private plane, a Boeing 720 passenger jet.

“It was a mythical tour, even at the time,” explains Rolling Stone’s David Browne, the author of the new book Talkin' Greenwich Village: The Heady Rise and Slow Fall of America's Bohemian Music Capital, which chronicles the fabled New York City neighborhood, and is particularly strong in how it deals with Dylan during the mid-’70s. “Dylan hadn’t toured in eight years, and, at least to my knowledge, none of it was filmed,” he adds. “Plus, it was the only tour he did with The Band after the ’60s, and it was a greatest hits tour, where Dylan was reintroducing himself to the world. All of those things together have given it this mystique, I think. When you add all those things up, it does give the tour this added allure.”

Of course, these weren’t the trailblazing, amphetamine-enhanced pied pipers of the 1966 tour, where at just about every stop they’d been booed. While everything that was frenetic and swinging about the ’60s was on full display on The 1966 Live Recordings box set, now, eight years later, the grim hangover that was the 1970s was upon everyone, and Dylan and The Band’s music and collective attitude while on the road early that year reflected all the weirdness, darkness and edginess that entailed.

The 1974 Live Recordings celebrates the 50th anniversary of Bob Dylan’s return to touring that year.

Legacy Recordings

“A lot of the revelations on here are on the first five to 10 discs,” says Ray Padgett, the author of Pledging My Time: Conversations with Bob Dylan Band Members. “Hearing the trajectory of the playing, and hearing Dylan’s vocals go from nuanced to beautiful to almost shouting practically every word, is fun to follow along show by show.”

The Band, of course, were a force in their own right by 1974, having released the era-defining albums Music from Big Pink, The Band and Stage Fright. But perhaps even more importantly, they had backed Dylan on that legendary ’66 tour. So, even if it was Dylan everyone was really coming to see, there was a healthy dose of nostalgia afoot.

“The year 1974 is interesting, because that was the year that was the beginning of pop culture nostalgia,” says Browne. “Because you had not just Dylan and The Band reuniting for a greatest hits tour of songs from the sixties, but you had Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young reuniting for their tour, you had American Graffiti, you had Happy Days starting, Grease was on Broadway, a hit musical. Suddenly, in 1974, the culture, for whatever mysterious reason, was looking back at the mid-to-late-’50s to the early-’60s. In fact, one of the big summer hits that year was a song called “Beach Baby” by The First Class, which was basically a fake Beach Boys song, who, ironically, made their big comeback with the greatest hits double album Endless Summer. That was 1974.”

Perhaps nowhere is that nostalgia more evident than during Dylan’s nightly acoustic sets. Older and certainly more world-weary than the man who had wowed and confounded audiences in the previous decade, Dylan attacks some of his most famous songs with a ferociousness that simply wills you to listen. Suddenly, the songs that had made him the voice of a generation seem recast for the weird and wild 1970s, with a keen sense of the foreboding that seemed to be everywhere.

“You can argue that this period—the Planet Waves album and the '74 tour—is kind of an official entry point into Dylan's second act as an artist,” says Elizabeth Nelson, who wrote the liner notes for The 1974 Live Recordings. “He has become a legend, flown too close to the sun, retreated into domesticity, and now is officially reentering the great public arena, a wizened gladiator. The whole period is one wherein he essentially signs the blood pact of being a public person forever.”

The recordings themselves are a mixture of crystal-clear mixes from multi-track tapes, to the occasional muddy and hissy board mix. But that’s no doubt the price you pay for such completeness. Besides, the highlights are plentiful: the opening night in Chicago, the Jan. 7 show at Philly’s Spectrum, the Jan. 27 matinee in Houston, and the final night in Los Angeles.

“What struck me, beyond the normal stuff you would expect to hear on a long tour—the players tightening up as the shows unfold, and then exhaling a bit—was how much they seemed to start out the tour on almost a war footing with the audience,” adds Nelson. “Robbie Robertson talks in the documentary Once Were Brothers about how strange and traumatizing being booed off stage practically every night in 1966 was, and you can tell that there was still some real scar tissue there. When they come out the first night and start with ‘Hero Blues,’ the deepest of deep cuts, it’s almost like they’re testing the audience to see how deep their loyalties run. As the tour progresses, and they evolve a more fan friendly set, you can almost sense the growing realization and relief that they are being well received.”

“It’s a strange thing, and you don’t sense that the question of that trust between performer and audience is ever fully resolved,” she continues. “Even at its most crowd pleasing, the shows run on a razor’s edge of intensity.”

I haven't done a post about the Ice Capades Barbie... but I did do a silly joke post about the Ice Capades Ken.

(Please note there's no actual lore I gave behind that... the entire purpose of that post was just that I think his outfit is great and I love that he's so dazzling.)

I assume this is the one you're referring to when you say the pink dress Barbie - this was released for the 50th Anniversary of the Ice Capades in 1990 (some sources say 1989 - this was the year the doll went into production, but the Ice Capades debuted in 1940 putting the 50th anniversary in 1990, so I think that is a more fair attribution date).

The Barbie and Ken were not the only parts of the collection though!

This skating rink was also released as a part of the collection. Pictured is another doll staffing a concession stand, and I am not sure who she is. That being said I am typing this on a day my weather app has put out an "extreme heat" warning so perhaps my brain is fried.

There were also fashion and accessory packs from the collection.

There was also another Ice Capades Barbie, also from 1990, but missing the 50th anniversary branding.

Also, the collaboration went both ways: they featured Barbie in some of their shows in 1990 as well. I can't find a good quality picture of a program with this featured but I've seen a few references to it.

The Ice Capades were actually losing popularity at the time of the 50th anniversary and this collaboration with Mattel, as a part of their wider 50th anniversary campaign, was presumably to breathe some life back into the brand. (I don't have a source that this campaign was for that purpose -- I'm just presuming, because ticket sales were in decline through the late 80s and the owner company went bankrupt in 1991, went through a few different owners, and then officially disbanded in 1997).

I am not saying Disney on Ice was the reason why, but they did start up around the same time as the declining Ice Capades sales started, so I don't think it helped.

Here I am writing while being in the middle of nowhere in the air. 4 hours left and 6 more hours to go. 10 hours flight time in total to Cairo, Egypt from Dulles Airport in VA.

I didn’t have a good sleep last night because I was very overstimulated, overtired and anxious about my upcoming trip. As I mentioned before that I haven’t gone on the solo international trip since 2012. I went to Nigeria alone when I just graduated from college and went there to celebrate my mom’s late 50th birthday.

Fun fact about me

Personally, I am not a social butterfly but love to tell stories through social media (instagram) where I usually share pictures/videos and real life experiences. I often make stories about my cooking/baking as I enjoy trying different cuisines/pastries. My kids love to try mine and give ratings.

I used to be a high school teacher for the deaf and left my career to become a full time stay at home mom. No regrets. I am very fortunate to be able to have good relationships with my kids. My kids are my everything.

I have a longtime dream which is to travel around the world with my family for a year. Before my boy(s) was/were born, we were a family of 4 and usually traveled a lot visiting different countries. But then having one/two more kids and COVID happened had pausing our travels. And it’s getting really expensive to travel with 4 kids now. I hope we will be able to travel and visit at least 2 countries within two years. Life happens, you know? I have passion for traveling because I find it very fun to discover the unknown and exciting.

N and S are my inspiration and my number one followers. They are mainly why I am so eager to write blogs again because I want them to jump into my world while I explore and learn more about my Nigerian culture. I simply love to tell stories and educate my kids about life in general. I am a teacher and storyteller at heart.

Anyway, let’s go back to the story about my first day of travel today. Day #1

I couldn’t sleep in the early morning, so I decided to bake banana breads for my kids (their other favorite pastry) and my sister and her family in Nigeria who I plan to stay with for a few days.

The bananas were not very ripe but will be in a few days so why not using them up before they turn spoiled.

Yes, I baked banana breads in 2-3 am in the morning because I couldn’t sleep due to being overstimulated. And I was thinking too much and very anxious about my upcoming trip to Nigeria. Like I said before, I had not gone on solo trip in a very long time.

After baking banana breads, I was watching a Netflix series for a little. I told myself I had to go back to sleep for 1-2 hours and I did. So yea, my sleeping schedule has messed up big time. And I know I will not be able to sleep well in Nigeria when I arrive there because it’s six hours difference between Nigeria and USA. Let’s see how fresh the bread will be after 20+ hour. Would they stay moist? I packed the bread for my sister and her family. Hoping they will like the bread. I couldn’t wait to eat a slice of banana bread whenever I get hungry in the plane.

I had hugged my kids close to my heart because they grow up fast before my eyes even blinked. And they are my precious gems.

After my kids going to school this morning, my partner, Harish, dropped me off at the metro station nearby. He couldn’t drop me off at the airport because it would be an hour drive each way. I could take an Uber but the fare is insanely and ridiculously expensive. No thanks! I am frugal and a hardcore hustler/ baragin finder. Thanks to my N, I was able to ride the metro for free using her kids ride free smart trip card. She has saved me $4-6!

The con about using the metro is the long ride- 23 stops and an hour trip. Harish said the metro (train) cars would not be very busy or crowded and he was right. It was not like before (pre-COVID). The cars were less crowded and quiet. So, I was able to rest a little and little sleepy due to baking banana bread and insufficient sleep.

Leaving my family this morning was not easy. I was surprised that I was not very emotional like crying or something. I guess I was too tired to feel sad or cry.

Arriving at the airport exactly an hour later. The silver line to the airport was added a few years ago and is now effective/convenient for travelers/commuters.

Dulles Airport is very extremely big and it takes a lot of walking from the metro station to the ticketing office. Lot of escalators and steps to take but here I arrived there before 10 am. My flight would be boarding around 1050. So I had some time to rest and talk a little on the phone with my loved one.

Not lot of people here- no long line for security checkpoint or checkin for tickets. Easy and quick.

When it was time to get into the plane, I went inside and found my seat. I was immediately upset because the leg room was so small. I kid you not. I am only five feet and 4 inches tall considering myself a petite short person and there was not much room left for me to rest my legs. My phone fell down by the side of window, and I had hard time reaching down because I couldn’t move, wiggle or bend my legs. What I always look forward going on international plane is food and entertainment.

Unfortunately, EgyptAir airline is the worst flight ever even though the plane has not moved yet. Why? No one cared enough to make sure I am accommodated or having full accessibility due to my deafness. No warm welcome. I waited and waited for the stewards to come to me and explained to me about the safety. Don’t think they knew. But one knew I was deaf because I asked if there is any movie that has English subtitles since I am deaf. The steward helped me and then said sorry. Believe it or not, there is only one movie that has English subtitles while the rest of movies/shows have Arabic subtitles. Oh great. I was like wow what would I do for ten hours if I never brought my iPad. Thank god I downloaded offline Netflix shows/series.

I guess I must be very tired because when I woke up I was in the air already. I didn’t feel the take off or anything. How strange. I usually am a very light sleeper and can feel movement easily. But no, I missed the takeoff. Oh well. And, I was not very comfortable due to very small space here. I fed up and decided to write a message for the steward. I explained that I would like to know if there was any important announcement for my safety.

I also told him that I want to sit alone because I do not feel comfortable tapping someone’s shoulder for him to move so I can get out of seat and go to the bathroom. I do not have strong bladder, so I can imagine how frustrated he would be if I keep tapping his shoulder or interrupt his sleep every time I need to go to the bathroom. The steward found three empty seat row and asked me if it was ok for me to sit there. Of course!

I feel much better after moving to new seat assignment. Finally, I can breathe and be more comfortable here. I took a nap and it was not that great or comfortable but it was better than nothing. More leg room.

Foods are not that yummy. Just ok-ok. Subpar food and entertainment. That is what I get what I pay for.

No snacks. Just one meal platter and one small sandwich. Don’t think they will serve any more food or snacks. Good thing I brought my own snacks to feed my hunger if needed. Can’t wait to eat that slice of banana bread that I made a few hours ago.

I didn’t sleep well because I swear I felt like I was in the snow globe that was constantly shaken! The plane was tumbling too often and too much. That scared me a lot because I didnt know if it was normal or could led to dangerous condition. Was it because of the bad storm or what? What caused the bad turbulence? How annoying! I felt like you had seen enough snowfalls, why keep shaking me up? You know?

I couldn’t think of any good thing about this EgyptAir Airline- I guess it’s just this very affordable fare to book with good itinerary. The layer is not too long though.

Sigh. Only three hours left now. Then a three hours layover then catching another flight to Lagos for 6 hours.

I do not know what time now is. I get lost with time and everything. Good disconnection I guess.

Sims 4- 50 Adoptions Challenge

This challenge is loosely based on Simlady36's "Foster Challenge" and the Foster-to-adopt system in the US, with a number of adaptations to fit the currently available gameplay options. I will include links to my inspirations at the bottom of this post.

Story: Your sim aged out of the foster system after spending their life moving from house to house. Not only does your sim long for a family of their own, but they want to be that stable family for other kids in the system. Being that person for foster kids where no one was there for them growing up. They resolve to adopt as many kids as they can in their lifetime.

Goal: to adopt and raise 50 happy healthy children

Setup: Create your first sim; they can be any gender or orientation; they are a young adult. Use Story mode to determine Traits, Aspiration, Starting Skills, Career, and Starting Money; No Cheats Allowed. Lifespan is set to normal. Move into a home or rental your sim can afford.

Rules:

No Cheats

Before you can begin adopting children your sim must find a marry another sim. (Having a committed platonic partner works too!)

Before your sims can begin fostering both they and their spouse must attend a parenting skill class (find in the phone). (If you have University) Your Guardian sims will need to take a parenting skill class every 4 in-game weeks to maintain their foster parent certification.

When ready to begin: use a random number generator to choose the child your sims will be caring for(there is typically 18 kids up for adoption at a time). How many children your sims have in the house at a time, and how quickly your sims bring them into their home, is up to you but you MUST use a random number generator to select the child every time. newborns-infants-toddlers-and children are all possibilities.

Newborns: You must get the birthday notification before aging up.

Infant: Infants can be aged up once they have tried all the baby foods (they do not have to like all of them). They should age up with the "happy infant" or "top-notch infant" traits NOTE: if you have Growing Together installed, infants only need to have tried 3 mashed baby foods, and one finger food; however they must reach the crawling and pincer grasp milestones before aging up or have received their birthday notification.

Toddler: Toddlers may be aged up once they have at least level 3 in all skills or the game ages them up automatically.

**Note: there is currently a bug regarding toddler and infant traits, please do not stress if your infant or toddler does not earn one**

Child: Children can be aged up once they have an "A" in school, have completed their aspiration, and have "high confidence" or the game ages them up.

Teen: Teens can be aged up once they have an "A" in school, have reached the top of a teen job or after-school activity, and if you have parenthood, must be in range for at least one positive character trait and no negative character traits, or the game ages them up.

TEEN OCCULT NOTE: If you have vampires, werewolves, or spellcasters packs installed and a teen is given an occult aspiration, they MUST become the occult type sim they want before becoming a young adult.

Additional Notes:

All traits and aspirations on age-ups must be randomized.

The child will NOT count until they become a young adult, if the child dies, or gets taken away they do not count towards the 50 children goal.

If one of the parents dies you cannot adopt any more children. The youngest child continues the challenge once they become a young adult.

If you have the GTW Expansion and one of the current parents is abducted, and it results in a pregnancy, that will count as an adopted child provided they make it to Young Adult age.

If you have Parenthood you MUST set a curfew.

If you have Parenthood, and a child or teen is assigned a project, they cannot age up until they complete the project.

The challenge ends when the 50th child becomes a young adult.

Passing the "Home Study"

To pass the foster system "Home Study" your Sims home must meet the following requirements at all times (as best as possible) This is because a home study is a requirement of foster parent certification and even after approval, social workers are allowed to make unannounced visits for home and welfare evaluations. This list is based on common checklist items that are able to be replicated in the sims.

Must have functioning smoke detectors on every floor and near or in children's rooms

No overdue bills

Child gates on stairs

No Bar

If there is a fireplace or wood stove it must have some sort of cover or screen. (you can size down a room divider)

fencing around swimming pools or other still pools of water on the property

If have GTW: must have a Fire extinguisher in or near the cooking area

You posted that you'd choose Doom Coalition for your desert island disc. Is it your favourite BF story of all time? Can you share your favourite which doesn't feature the doctor?

I do love Doom Coalition! I chose that first disc for my lonely exile because of the variety it packs in - a bit of Gallifrey, introducing the Eleven, introducing Helen, established Eight-with-Liv, and four very different stories. Doom Coalition definitely is among my favourites, and it's a set I've listened to more than most, but I'd hate to have to pick just one favourite from the whole range. My shortlist of 'ones to revisit every few months' is pretty long now!

As for a fave non-Doctor title... hmm. I adore The Bekdel Test, from the Diary of River Song #5 set - the one where River meets four different incarnations of the Master. They're all great stories on that set, but that Missy one makes me ridiculously happy!

The third story on the first Missy set grew on me slowly to become a huge favourite, too - The Broken Clock.

One of the new series UNIT stories really stood out for me - Invocation from the UNIT: Encounters set.

I get a big kick out of Masterful, the multi-Master special released for the Master's 50th anniversary.

And I'm a huge fan of the original run of Gallifrey - series 1 to 3. I've continued to follow the saga over the years, of course, but I've listened to the original run of stories over and over. I particularly like the second story from the first series, Square One.

Crème Shop Haul

In Asia Crème Shop is a very popular brand. It’s actually known as a US brand in Asia as the company is in California but, for some reason in America it’s advertised as “Korean Beauty”. I actually have a hard time finding their products in the US. I have found some at Ulta and Sephora but, none in warehouse retail stores like Target or Walmart. I was very surprised to find the products at Walgreens. Crème Shop is mostly known for its cute packaging and they often have limited edition packaging for Products of characters like Hello Kitty and Pusheen. I’m a big sucker for cute packaging. These products are hypoallergenic and cruelty free. I have a hard time wearing eye cosmetics because they make my eyes itch and water. Crème shop never does that but, big American brands like Covergirl, Maybelline, ELF, even Physicians Formula make my eyes water. Which is kind of disappointing because, I really like the look of the Covergirl eye makeup and it’s really affordable too.

I highly recommend the face powders for anyone who has a 10 year old Sephora kid. It is almost impossible to waste these powders because of how they are packaged. The loose powders are contained in a closed case with a mesh net over the opening. You can only get out maybe 1/4 a teaspoon of powder at a time. This works great for kids who over use products and if they accidentally knock the product over very little will be lost. My favorite is the “Banana Powder” but, that wasn’t available so I got the BT21 powders and the classic “Moon Dust”.

The Crème Shop is currently having a BT21 collaboration so a lot of the products have the BT21 characters. I was able to also find some of the Hello Kitty 50th anniversary skincare products too. I was really hoping to find the Pusheen makeup brushes but, they weren’t available. I did pick up some BT21 brushes as I haven’t replaced my brushes in over 10 years and really needed new ones. As you can see many of the products haven’t been opened yet. That is because after opening the products they only have a 6-12 month usage date before you have to throw them away.

The Hello Kitty care pack only has a 3 month usage date so I only purchased the mini products, except for the full size face wash which I use twice a day and know it will not go to waste.

I did get the Hello Kitty makeup removal wipes specifically because they smell like watermelon which is my favorite fruit. Normally I use the more eco friendly reusable makeup remover cloth. The wipes actually work better than the cloth. I was able to get all my makeup off using only one wipe even the waterproof mascara. However due to the wipes not being biodegradable I’ll probably not buy them very often.

The Velvet Revolution (Czech: Sametová revoluce) or Gentle Revolution (Slovak: Nežná revolúcia) was a non-violent transition of power in what was then Czechoslovakia, occurring from 17 November to 28 November 1989. Popular demonstrations against the one-party government of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia included students and older dissidents. The result was the end of 41 years of one-party rule in Czechoslovakia, and the subsequent dismantling of the command economy and conversion to a parliamentary republic.[2]

On 17 November 1989 (International Students' Day), riot police suppressed a student demonstration in Prague.[3] The event marked the 50th anniversary of a violently suppressed demonstration against the Nazi storming of Prague University in 1939 where 1,200 students were arrested and 9 killed (see Origin of International Students' Day). The 1989 event sparked a series of demonstrations from 17 November to late December and turned into an anti-communist demonstration. On 20 November, the number of protesters assembled in Prague grew from 200,000 the previous day to an estimated 500,000. The entire top leadership of the Communist Party, including General Secretary Miloš Jakeš, resigned on 24 November. On 27 November, a two-hour general strike involving all citizens of Czechoslovakia was held.

In response to the collapse of other Warsaw Pact governments and the increasing street protests, the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia announced on 28 November that it would relinquish power and end the one-party state. Two days later, the federal parliament formally deleted the sections of the Constitution giving the Communist Party a monopoly of power. Barbed wire and other obstructions were removed from the border with West Germany and Austria in early December. On 10 December, President Gustáv Husák appointed the first largely non-communist government in Czechoslovakia since 1948, and resigned. Alexander Dubček was elected speaker of the federal parliament on 28 December and Václav Havel the President of Czechoslovakia on 29 December 1989.

In June 1990, Czechoslovakia held its first democratic elections[4] since 1946. On 1 January 1993, Czechoslovakia peacefully split into two countries, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic.

The dissolution of Czechoslovakia occurred mainly due to national governance issues between the Slovaks and Czechs (the two major ethnicities comprising the former Czechoslovakia).

long rant about the pack incoming i'm sorry in advanced

it's beyond weird for us to be expected to buy a pack (or even a couple) just to be able to enjoy the basics of each life stage imo. and there's still no content for elders, looks like we're never getting preteens, barely anything for children... and i have to say it's so sad to see that 2/3 of additions we got to life stages are about school. sim relationships, interactions and personalities require so much imagination because there just isn't any gameplay to back it up. staying up till 2 am giggling with the group chat as a teen, making up secret languages as kids, sneaking candy to your grandchildren behind your child's back as an elder, going to your high school reunion as and adult (huge mussed opportunity for this pack!) etc are all details that make a life stage unique and we get none of that. it's all high school and uni preparing you for the same job options we've had for years. idk i'm just tired of playing half the game in my head ig.

ps i love forests a lot more than an average person but god this feels like the 50th forest world. just no variety what so ever. and who the hell wanted this teen sim influencer thing, let us do stick and pokes under the bleachers and write essays for other sims to earn money
