How did Velvet and Veneer handle their mother’s death?

Velvet and Veneer were about seven when she died, to young to loose your mom when you have a whole life ahead of you. At first, the twins had no idea what had happened. They just thought their mom went into a deep sleep like the fairytales their parents would read them. When Vaughn finally found them they begged him to kiss her so she could wake up. Perhaps actually seeing their mother lifeless resulted in how they grow up. Especially Velvets character.

It wasn’t until her funeral did they realize their mom was gone. Veneer would be in denial for a while saying that she’d come back. Velvet knew. She kinda grew up too quick, grew more attached to her father; not really wanting to let him out of her sight.
