Thinking about an AU where the outcome of Maigu Ridge:

Bingmei didn't survive at the very end, but SQQ did survive (He's the actual protagonist of SVSSS, despite what he thinks.)

I know Xin Mo might not be able to be wielded by a human--but hear me out, OK? If any human is gonna be able to do it it's SY-SQQ, who knows all its inside secrets and has his connection with Binghe. So for the purposes of this we're just gonna say he can. It's not easy, but he can. It fucks him up in the head, but he can. And he will. Because it's his only chance.

And isn't Bingge thrown off when, in the middle of court, a veiled stranger cuts a rift through space into his palace, wielding another Xin Mo, bowing to him and pledging to serve and protect him for the rest of his life.

I just think it’d be hilarious if Shen Yuan and Shang Qinghua were internet friends AND internet enemies. And of course, since neither wants their normal internet bestie to know about their unhinged behavior, i.e. Shang Qinghua writing a terrible porno for cash and Shen Yuan reading the thing in its entirety just to leave hate mail, they are completely unaware of the duality of their relationship. The amount of identity porn shenanigans of them both having a regular account where they have an absolutely normal friendship, and a side account for their deranged fandom content where they hate each other would be peak comedy.

AU where while Yue Qi is in seclusion after forcibly bonding with the most powerful sword, a new disciple becomes head disciple of Qiong Ding/ poses to become the next sect leader.

And… it’s none other than transmigrator Shen Yuan. Who very loudly doesn’t want the position but he’s forced into it after unfortunately showing some common sense after Yue Qi made the worse decision that permanently kicked him out of the running for Qiong Ding head disciple.

Hanahaki is a delicious trope in fanfiction, and yet sometimes I'm like, "You can't ALL rather literally die rather than confess your feelings." (Yes, the mechanics of Hanahaki work differently on a story by story basis, but the original is just about confessing your love rather than keeping it inside, not about needing to be loved back.)

Like, it would be embarrassing as hell to confess your love if you genuinely didn't think you had a chance, but seriously (as much as I love going along with a well-written, angsty, whumpy story), some of these characters are practical enough that I think they'd just suck it up and say it. They're adults! They have shit to do! And some characters are assholish enough that I think they would just decide to confess and make their feelings someone else's problem, which is a funny scenario to think about, perhaps underused in fanfiction.

Character A: "Sorry, you were DYING because of a magical flower curse?! And now you're better because you confessed your love to me?! What the fuck am I supposed to do about any of this?!"

Character B, trying to remain chill while their face feels like it's on fire: "Sorry, I don't know. You figure it out, I guess."

Same thing with truth serums and other curses that manifest your feelings and whatever. It's fun to have the "Ohhh, nooo, I can never tell them" and the "Surprise! Your love was requited all along", I love those, but I'd also love to see more awkward subversions of tropes. More "Well, fuck, might as well say something" and more "Shit, now what?" of romantic interests getting bodied out of left field by the main character's feelings.

The moment Luo Binghe is shoved backwards into the Endless Abyss, he knows he will never return. No one comes back from the Abyss, the rift torn through reality. Doubly so, now that the seal upon his demonic heritage is shattered.

He sees Shizun’s face twist in something complicated and horrible, even as it grows smaller and finally disappears.

But he doesn’t ever hit the ground. Instead, warm water closes over his head and the force of his fall drives him deep. The water seems too thick around him and eventually even his cultivator’s lungs need a reprieve. And when he involuntarily opens his mouth all he tastes is blood.

Luo Binghe panics, gasping for air that is not there and searching blindly for the surface. And somehow he finds it, clawing his way out of the blood like some half-dead thing. There is blood in his eyes, he’s completely coated in it. He probably looks like a monster.

Somewhere to his side there’s the sound of people jumping to their feet, cries of shock and fear.

“Jiejie! Get Wei-gongzi! Now!”

something about mu qing and feng xin seeing hua cheng and xie lian happy together and feeling as if they’re seeing their failure personified because they were never devoted enough in the end

something about mu qing’s lasting regret being not so much about the wrongs he’s done to xie lian (leaving him, not standing up for him, etc) so much as about the way he’s spent his whole life pushing everyone away

something about mu qing realizing that he has spent 800 years with so little to show for it beyond his achievements as a god…but personally, all was lost with the death of his mother…until xie lian ascends again, but well, though they can be friends now, xie lian has a life separate from him now

and then something about how feng xin begins to give mu qing the benefit of the doubt. at first for xie lian’s sake, he’ll try to be his friend. but this person actually isn’t so bad. in fact, isn’t this the person that can understand him best in this world.

feng xin showing mu qing kindness, allowing mq to realize that maybe he hasn’t ruined everything for himself. realizing that feng xin isn’t actually so much of an idiot. letting his defenses fall away bit by bit.

the realization that even after 800 years, people are capable of change. feng xin is capable of considering mu qing in a totally different light. mu qing is capable of forgiving himself and letting himself be vulnerable.

mu qing finding one day that he’s in love and it’s terrifying because feng xin hates him still, right? he’s just being nice for xie lian’s sake.

feng xin not having any qualms about loving mu qing. at first, he’s surprised himself, but he considers how happy he is these days with him.

feng xin and mu qing understanding each other better than anyone else and falling in love because of it!! growing independently and together at the same time!!

not instant love, not 800 years of pining, but slow, patient changes that lead to a deep trust and affection and understanding between the two that they both thought was impossible just a few years ago.

Near or at the point of no return, system ooc locked! How can he turn the tides and survive his death flag?

You know what would've been nice? Shen Jiu ending up on a different peak that's actually good for him. Maybe Qian Cao, or the beast taming peak could've been hella therapeutic. Or the alcohol/brewery peak to drown away all his sorrows. But what if he stayed fucked up, in a way that's actually good and productive for society? Yeah, I wanna toss him over to Yin Hui and let him run wild! I've seen many iterations of Yin Hui, the fanon peak for espionage and poisons in fanfics. By extension, Yin Hui is also covertly the assassination peak, and I wish this peak got more attention around here tbh. Why do I think this peak is the most well suited for Shen Jiu? BECAUSE ASSASSINS. Duh.

So here comes a baby demonic cultivator Shen Jiu and the Yin Hui peak lord immediately wants him. Shen Jiu would be more readily accepted by his peak martial siblings, and no one would bat an eye at Shen Jiu, his standoffish personality or shady past. A lot of Yin Hui disciples are from questionable backgrounds since the Yin Hui peak lord naturally has to be very particular about selecting their disciples. Yin Hui was established to protect the sect and its people by any means necessary. Sure, the rest of the sect may fight against the supernatural, demons, and the undead, but Yin Hui fights an even greater monster: people.

The Yin Hui peak lord manipulated things so that the first impression the rest of the sect has about Shen Jiu is 'that new badass Yin Hui disciple that killed the criminal Wu Yanzi and saved the future sect leader!' (Seeing as Wu Yanzi would be the very sort of ppl they assassinate, he's already getting goated on Yin Hui too.) So Shen Jiu is known as that new prodigious disciple from Yin Hui and is getting some goddamn respect! And just because of his association with his peak, fewer people are inclined to question his background and whatnot since there's an understanding that the identity of the YH disciples needs to be heavily guarded. The Yin Hui peak lord finds out about the Qiu's soon enough, and they erase any and all traces leading back to Shen Jiu. Even framing it in a way that makes it look like WY did the massacre. Any credibility Qiu Haitang could've had for Shen Jiu's murder accusations is thrown out the window. (Ain’t no way in hell the Yin Hui peak lord is going to name SJ that stupid trauma inducing name like a certain Qing Jing peak lord, that's for sure.)

I'm pulling in elements from MDZS over here. In my version of Yin Hui, they have disciples who practice demonic cultivation, but they make sure it's in a safer way that won't hurt them. There's a surprising number of disciples who have damaged cultivation and chose to cultivate the ghost path. The previous generations of Yin Hui peak lords have created Wei Wuxian's inventions in this AU, and is used by the rest of the peak, like the compass of ill winds, paper metamorphosis, the spirit attraction flag, and empathy. I lowkey want a Wei Wuxian that's native to SV to be the Yin Hui peak lord, now that I think about it. He's good with his kiddos and would be an awesome shizun. And ofc, Shen Jiu is a reflection of his environment, so he's certainly making an example out of Wei Wuxian, one of the only positive influences in his life.

Shen Jiu still has his violent tendencies, so nothing has changed about that, but he learns to take that pent-up energy out on missions instead. And he does them well. It even gives him an edge. Everyone else thinks he's just reallyyy good at his job, as expected of the talented head disciple of Yin Hui!!

He really does try his best to not be an ass (bc he gets the love he deserves on Yin Hui) and ends up venting in a different way (coz he knows better than to take it out on people who don’t deserve it.) His shizun really gave him the free reign to kill sl@ve trad3rs, human tr@ffick3rs, r-ists, and other scum whenever he wanted, in the name of stress relief lol. If killing a particular person becomes politically complicated, like the Old Palace Bastard, then you best believe he's going to scheme like the little schemer he is. He's going to Nie Huaisang the OPM.

Since Shen Jiu is not salty about his fucked up cultivation, and his martial siblings respect him, they get along just fine. His cultivation is some parts similar to Wei Wuxian's: Shen Jiu is a ghost cultivator influenced by music. Sure, he may not be that great of a spiritual cultivator, so what? He's pulling up like the Yiling Patriarch with his demonic cultivation and a haunted guqin of his own.

And guess what? Shen Jiu enjoys teaching. He's training miniature assassins, spies, and the art of demonic cultivation, so forgive him if he's more than a little enthusiastic about it. I imagine that he's exactly like Shifu from kung fu panda when it comes to teaching. Still extremely harsh and strict when training, but outside of actually teaching, he's an attentive and caring shizun. And yes, he completely does act like a father figure who is proud of his murder babies, and ends up being called A-Ba so much that all of Cang Qiong thinks he's officially adopted every single one of his disciples. (After being saved by SJ on a mission, NYY persistently begs SJ to take her in even though he desperately thinks Yin Hui isn't a good fit for her. And then, after being under him for a while, she's completed her first mission successfully, has smn else's blood on her face, and is smiling brightly. 

Ning Yingying: "I completed my mission shizun! Are you proud of me?"

Shen Jiu: "..."

Some other peaklord: "Haha like father like daughter! She's definitely your girl alright!"

Shen Jiu: "...!?!" )

Yue Qingyuan is conerneth about his Xiao Jiu, but as long as he's happy, who cares. Shen Jiu has a better relationship with the other peak lords, so when asked about why he visits brothels, he straight up tells them that it's the best place to gather information in the dark. He doesn't have that mentality of "why explain myself when no ones finna believe me anyway" He actually trusts them and is more honest with time. Shen Jiu does come clean about killing the Qiu's at some point, and the peak lords are all like-

"I didn't hear shit"

"See, I'm blind in my left eye, and 75% blind in my right-"

"Completely understandable, Shen shidi!"

They don't even ask why he did it and just assume he had a valid reason, and he absolutely fucking did.

Oh, Shen Jiu gets accused of playing dirty? Liu Qingge, he literally kills ppl and makes poison as a daytime fucking job ofc he's gonna play dirty! Shen Jiu tried killing you that one time on the well mission? Bro you good? The fact that you think he tried to kill you and failed?? You just insulted an entire peak of disciples and their ancestors. You would've been dead before you could even think of sensing their killing intent if it were true. And there was a witness too, doofus. Be fucking for real. Nahh coz there definitely would be more people who are taking Shen Jiu's side whenever the two of them fight.

Shen Jiu uses a shit ton of versatile weapons because most of his fighting and cultivation prowess comes from his wits and adapting to fighting with different styles/methods. He is kinda similar to Xie Lian bc both of them lack spiritual energy/qi (damaged spirit roots in Shen Jiu's case), but that does not mean they are weaker. It just means they learned to train their body and minds instead of relying on cultivation/qi. He has a massive arsenal of weapons along with the demonic cultivation.

Yin Hui has got to be my favorite fanon peak, and Yin Hui! Shen Jiu plauges so many of my waking thoughts, I can't stop-

I can add elements from my other hyperfixation into this AU, the Avatar Chronicles. Which are the written books from ATLA. The criminal organization Kyoshi joined, the Daofei, for example, could be a good plot point. Or the Platinum Affair from the Yangchen books. If you don’t know what the Avatar Chronicles are, just ignore this last part lol.

I am a simple woman.

If I see SVSSS content, I will like, I will follow, and I will open another tab to read every fanfiction recommendation. (Even though I shouldn't with my 64 open tabs right now. 27 of which are ongoing ff as I patiently wait for more chapters to be released.)

That's not all though.

I'm considering getting back into writing some fanfiction for my current addiction. I have a few ideas, but I would love to hear your favorite ship, crackship, headcanons and so forth!

I'm heavily debating on a few fic ideas:

SY and SJ shenanigans : Disciples? Estranged Siblings? (LBH Sobbing in the bg)

SY as a rogue cultivator, successfully avoiding LBH for most of the plot. (Switch between LBH and SY pov?)

Modern SVSSS, College!! (SJ the prettiest and pettiest of college professors, he doesn't get paid enough for this. Why is his student flirting with him? Why is his student flirting with his brother? SJ might consider homicide as justifiable.)

Modern SVSSS, SY and SQH wake up from their strange dream. Find out Cucumber and Airplane know each other in rl. Ensue chaotic best friend behavior. (In the bg cue, MBJ and LBH handling this with nothing but poise and grace. I'm lying. They're doing the exact opposite. Don't worry, I'm not a monster. LBH and MBJ find their wives, eventually, probably.)

Modern Cultivators! SY and SJ didn't think they would ever run into an actual demon, demons are rare these days. They often face ghosts and spirits. Cue SY accidently waking up a good old Blackened/Sealed Lou Bing-ge. Cue (dun dun duhhh) chaos.

Demon SY? Cultivator SY? Dunno yet, SY in the Abyss. (I read an unfinished fic about SY in the abyss, and I'm obsessed with the idea of SY just absolutely trying to get LBG to speedrun the Abyss, and LBG deciding "Nuh. I'm staying here, with you". I was also considering entire Abyss ancient civilizations because I'm unhinged, and the idea of what used to be sprawling demonic kingdoms in the abyss is beautiful.)

Have you ever accidently married the emperor of the 3 realms? SY did. Now, SJ has to ask YQ for help to save his brother. (Subsequently: You ever accidently end up with a husband? LBG was surprised, too, but he has a system, a way these things work. Just because SY is a man doesn't change anything. LBH now has to make sure his frail husband doesn't die and doesn't get kidnapped by pesky cultivators.) Three povs???? SJ (trying to save his brother and getting pettier by the minute), LBG (thwarting SJ's plans, spying on his husband, general court affiar), SY (fangirling over everything, getting himself into trouble, falling into every wife plot under the sun).

These are just some ideas, some of my favorites that I've been clinging to. Free game, take em, write em if you want. The more fanfiction and content we have, the better!

I have a thing for memory loss stories so this is a Moshang memory loss idea [that I don't have the time for, so I thought I would share as much as I have].

This is very much an AU story. Before the start of SVSSS/PIDW plot Qinghua was already reporting to MBJ. And we all know the tender care Mobei Jun took of Qinghua. Well, there was this one time... A very unfortunate event, really. Mobei did not mean it. He struck Qinghua, not even that hard, and Qinghua fell, hitting his head on the table.

Qinghua lost consciousness. He bled badly and wasn't waking up when Mobei shook him or even fed him spiritual energy.

Mobei had no choice but to take him to healers in the demon realm. They were the ones to explain to him how fragile humans actually are. Qinghua lost an eye in the fall. He could have died of shock if Mobei didn't bring him to the healers. They did everything they could. Really, please, prince, do not punish them, but the human lost his memories as well - his brain took some damage.

Qinghua has amnesia. He does remember all the general knowledge - he knows how things function, how life works, he remembers about demons and cultivators, he even knows about demon lords and peak lords. But he also has some of the strange knowledge Mobei Jun or the healers do not understand - electricity, computers, cars, etc. Mobei thinks he is a seer.

What is curious, for the first time ever, Qinghua does not cower before Mobei. He knows Mobei brought him to the healers and he is grateful and curious. This is not something Mobei is used to and he does not know how to react. But he tries. He knows how fragile humans are now so he tries to be gentle. Especially after Qinghua witnesses some violence between demons and becomes frightened of them.

Mobei does not want Qinghua to be frightened of him anymore. He hides the fact that it was because of him that Qinghua lost his eye and memories. He keeps him in the castle and treats him like a prince himself.

With or without memories, Qinghua is still Qinghua. He knows that love is not unconditional. If he wants Mobei to keep him around, he needs to make himself useful. He knows now that he used to be a spy for Mobei and he used to give him advice so he does research. He reads political treaties and catches up on history. Applying his 'general knowledge' he is able to keep advising Mobei Jun into many successful ventures.

Mobei says he doesn't have to. Qinghua says he does.

It will take a while for Qinghua to understand that people [Mobei] may care for him simply for being him not only for the services he provides.

At some point Mobei breaks down and begs Qinghua for forgiveness for how he had treated him - beatings and making him belief his life is only as important as the information he is able to give. Qinghua is so much more and Mobei will not ever let him forget that.

Okay, so it might have been sort of an excuse to draw Mobei hugging Qinghua's thighs. I am a weak person, what can I say?

I just learned about the Cakeverse. We NEED to make SVSSS fic for this! There's like ONE FIC and it's in Italian and I have a cousin but I CANT READ ITALIAN PLEASE CHAT DO IT FOR MEEEEE

Of course I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't at least offer a little something of my own, so here's the bit:

Shen Qingqiu was a fork, and everyone knew it. The readers of Proud Immortal Demon Way knew it. The Peak Lords and disciples alike of Cang Qiong knew. Hell, even people from other sects had heard the rumors about the Qing Jing Peak Lord.

As for Shen Yuan, the first few months of experiencing it had been really demoralizing! And worse–the cute little white lotus protagonist himself had taken the initiative to cook his meals, and he wouldn’t even be able to taste them at all! How could he appreciate them properly?! Luo Binghe knew this, and STILL he put his whole effort into cooking his best meals for his teacher. Ah, truly there was no disciple more filial than Binghe! 

If nothing else, Binghe’s cooking had been pleasing to look at, and the hot steam that wafted up from it felt soothing on Shen Qingqiu’s face, so of course he would eat it. He wasn’t going to waste food, okay?! He knew he was immensely blessed to experience Binghe’s cooking on any level at all. Still, it would have been nice to not leave the flavors to his imagination.

Thankfully, today’s breakfast brought a breath of hope to the poor transmigrator that caused him to shed a tear of joy behind his fan. It seemed his old sense of taste was starting to come back to him after all! Perhaps the System just needed some time to adapt Shen Qingqiu’s body to better suit its new occupant. 

The flavor wasn’t much, just a hint of something in the dough, vaguely sweet like icing. Thinking about it, it made sense that the power of the Protagonist’s cooking was enough to pierce through even the Scum Villain’s taste buds! At this rate, maybe he could avoid the original Scum Villain’s fate as a human stick for almost devouring Binghe after accidentally tasting his blood at the Immortal Alliance Conference!

Luo Binghe eagerly watched as Shizun ate his breakfast with an intense glint in his eye. He knew what he was, and what he had done to his beloved teacher’s food this morning. It wasn’t much. He had just pressed a little kiss to each of the buns before cooking, but the effect of his saliva was just enough. Shizun did taste it, Binghe could tell. Shizun wasn’t reacting aggressively and seemed not to suspect Binghe at all. Maybe he would add something a little more of himself next time. Something that would prickle all of Shizun’s senses. That sounded delightful indeed.

All Shen Yuan knows is that his family pays like... $100 a year in taxes. You know, as billionaires do. All those lovely tactics of tax evasion and legally minimizing their tax burdens by buying more property, opening various charities and foundations where they "take business trips to Caribbean's" so that they can holiday there AND deduct it as business expense, and more. What is even the point of taxes? Not much.

Shang Qinghua: We need to eAt ThE RiCh! Shen Yuan: Aren't you, like, the second richest cultivation in this world? Shang Qinghua who's been officially crowned Empress of the North (at last): Shuddup.

What if Binghe never grew up with his washerwoman mother, but was raised by Tianlang-Jun and Su Xiyan in the demon realm, and when he became Emperor, he was given many concubines

Among them Shen QingQiu (Jiu), an Omega (who used to be a beak lord, slave or still a disciple of Wu Yanzi) and they take him by force as Luo Binghe's concubine, and there develops a relationship of resentment and love

practically the sultan.

Does anyone want to write it or are there fanfics similar to this?

Fun svsss fan fic idea

What if the system tried to send SY somewhere else like for example frozen before he went to PIDW? And because of the mix up he would be a human man with ice powers being constantly confused for a demon?

And it would be even better if he had to complete missions for frozen in PIDW and having to stick to an Elsa like character until unlocking ooc, collecting B points would be fun to like “what do you mean I have to reenact that one part?! I don’t want to sing let it go! I don’t even have a brother?”

This is just one example you could probably do this with any movie or show I think.
