Just a gentle reminder that EPIC the Musical is a musical. It’s not a movie script, not a play adaptation, but a musical itself. Which means, to talk about it with anything less is inorganic, is missing an important piece of the story itself. Because it’s not just the lyrics that display the scene—music tells its own story too.
The way the soundscape for each saga (and sometimes different songs themselves) is so unique that it creates the atmosphere for this certain event almost immediately, the experience of which you cannot go through merely by reading the script. With the Cyclops Saga we have a dark and edgy theme, with the Circe Saga we have a more tropical (mostly due to the drums) and at the same time elegant one (due to the strings), with the Underworld Saga we have this very gloomy theme which is straight up Underworld feels…this is very common for music, but it’s just something you won’t get from the script.
The way the delivery of so many lines is so good that you can feel the emotions so vividly—something lyrics alone can’t display. (Which is also the reason why there’re so many lamenting paragraphs in tragic plays and why there’re pauses between spoken lines in writings where writers describe the expression and movement of characters.) The way you can hear the anguish and desperation in the delivery of so many lines from Mutiny, the way you can feel the emotional struggle of Odysseus at the end of Thunder Bringer in the way Jay sings…there’re so many moments where you just feel the raw emotions coming from those lines that you can’t experience it by reading the lyrics and interpreting with wild guesses.
The way the reoccurring motifs and riffs tell so many things that lyrics won’t is already well-known. Danger is nearby motif already gives you the alert of what is to come; storm motif depicts a harsh encounter on sea that it captures that moment so well; that specific motif from those three songs (the beginning of the second verse of The Horse and the Infant, the first and second verse of Survive, the beginning of the second half of Mutiny) is foretelling the turning point of events (and also asking someone to kill the other being)…and then we have characters’ own motifs. Odysseus’s cunning motif shows the moment where he plots the course of action; Athena’s Warrior of the Mind motif already indicates her appearance and more; Polites’s Open Arms motif just destroys your emotions cuz why not; Eurylochus’s Luck Runs Out motif shows the development of the dynamics between him and his Captain…there’re so many to rant about that I just can’t put them all in this one post. As for the riffs, the most famous one is of course the way Athena and Odysseus and Telemachus sing “miiiiind”/“fiiiiiine”/etc. as Jay has already yapped about in his video, which just shows the dynamics between these three characters so perfectly. Hey look, another thing which the script won’t tell you.
And then we have these characters’ own instruments. I don’t even think I’ll need to elaborate on this one. Most of you have known that already and understood how genius this idea is even though it’s not Jay who came up with it. This is totally something you can only experience in the music itself, but meanwhile it says a lot about the scene already. As in Done For where Odysseus’s electric guitar continues playing under Circe’s lines which indicates he has taken hold of the situation already (even though temporarily). It might be a minor thing, but still it’s very well-thought, and sometimes even foreshadowing (like how Poseidon’s trumpets have already shown up in Storm).
There’re so many things to rant about this musical that a single post is far from enough to discuss them all. Here I’m only pointing out that EPIC is an organic combination of lyrics and music (and action when it comes to stage production which I believe it will eventually) that it’s impossible to treat them separately while still getting the whole story right. Once again, the piece you’re talking about is not a stage play—it’s a musical that is epic.

DRDT x EPIC (part one?)
design notes for the nerds like me v
DAVID
He is wearing a diadem, which is the crown worn by Ancient Greek kings, as he is the King of Ithaca in this AU.
The chain holding his glove on is made of silver, which is the same material Min’s armour is made of.
His cape was a gift from Teruko (Penelope) that she gave him before he left to go to war.
After Survive, he takes Eden’s gem and uses it as the clip holding his cape on.
After My Goodbye, he loses his gloves as he no longer has connection to Min.
After Ruthlessness, Xander gives him his bandana.
After Monster, he loses his diadem as he is no longer the merciful King of Ithaca that left for war all those years ago.
EDEN
She is holding a lotus fruit, which she got when she and David went to the island of the lotus-eaters.
David takes the gem on her belt when she dies and replaces the star on his cape with it.
She’s the only mortal character with non-fingerless gloves.
XANDER
He actually still has his eye (until Mutiny, when David pulls it out during their fight), he wears the eyepatch to help him see better out of his other eye while fighting.
He’s the only mortal character to always hold a weapon to foreshadow him leading the mutiny against David.
He gives David his bandana after Ruthlessness as a silent apology for opening the bag.
MIN
She’s the only character who only wears silver armour/accessories to separate her from the mortal characters.
After We’ll Be Fine, she adds a wolf pin to her cape to symbolise her friendship with Nico (Telemachus).
She’s glowing because she is a goddess.
Her spear is made of gold as it is a more precious metal than bronze, and gods deserve the best of the best.
Her arm-guard have feathers engraved in them.
The type of owl she’s specifically based on is the tawny owl, which are brown and white/silver.
During the time dive in Love in Paradise, her cape turns into a functional pair of wings. She also uses this while arguing for David’s sake in God Games.
Her hair is not actually pink, it’s just glowing.

So now that the thunder saga is out we can reflect on the foreshadowing Tiresias shared in No Longer You
"I see a song of past romance (siren song) I see the sacrifice of men (scylla), I see portrayals of betrayal and a brother’s final stand (mutiny). I see you on the brink of death (the end of Thunderbringer), I see you draw your final breath, I see a man who gets to make it home alive. But it's no longer you."
Jorge also revealed part of the chorus at the end of No Longer You: “siren song, Scylla throat, mutiny, lightning bolt” The rest also contains spoilers so he hasn’t revealed that yet!

COMMENTS on 2x04 - SPOILERS ahead, obviously^^
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
God that play is really…. and to see the joy just leave Claudia
And the foreshadowing with her soul leaving her body!!!!!! Holy shit.
Louis’ face mirroring the disillusionment.
Lol, Santiago getting a BJ while getting ready and bitching about the play. 💀
Armand and Louis in Dubai saying different things about that time…
Armand’s notes threw😬 me - and to call her lack of enjoyment of this play after 500 performances sabotage? Definitely a choice.
Ah, I see that is where that Santiago outfit comes in^^ - I would not have expected it to be Claudia there. I so feel for her there, it is so bitter. And Santiago having her back there and challenging Armand (and his relationship with Louis) damn. Also, Louis being so… IDK. Happy to ignore the warning signs now??? Ouch.
The coven going at each other, lol
That discussion “after”. And Louis’ “inner Lestat” commenting on it all - bitter
“Do you notice how hot the room gets”!!!!! FUCK
“I try to find the vulnerability in the object.” DAMN
The laughter. And Louis calling himself out there lmao.
They didn’t like Daniel changing track that’s for sure^^.
Santiago and Claudia 😭 - god I wished. And his warning her… damn.
Oh…. so THAT is where the “tender” comes in. Ouch again.
Madeleine and Claudia
The mimicry at the banquet. Ohhhhh it’s going to go SO BAD
But it’s nice to see that when Louis snaps… he snaps^^. Canon, baby, canon.
I felt so bad for him at the photography evaluation…
The fragility comment re Armand.
The photographs mixed in!!!! Holy shit. What is going on there - has been going on there????
“This is a Stein”. LOL Armand… “Probably Rashid”. Yeah, sure.
The body in the plastic!!!! Oh we are going full horror next episode, aren’t we.
Louis letting his “inner Lestat” criticize him. Aw sweetie. “I end up eating them”…. yeah.
The laughter again. And ”Lestat” mocking Armand as being “barely Balthasar”. 💀 Oh Louis. (I do feel bad for Armand. He wants love so badly.)
Madeleine’s story. One of many I would think. I … liked how they did it.
The Louvre.
“Vintage Lioncourt” - and then his “inner Lestat”!!! That expression, lol. And also the “ha” later… that is interesting.
In sync. “Okay” Argh.
HOLY SHIT! I KNEW THEY WOULD GO FULL IN AND DARK. AND THEY ARE 😵‍💫 OHHHH DAMN.
The coven abandoned by Magnus(??). And “Lestat” shaking his head.” Interesting.
I ALMOST thought we would get a Memnoch-type event!!!!! Damn, I wanted them to go there :))))
Armand threatening Claudia -.- . And letting her know. Talk about making things clear.
The thing about Santiago’s maker again...
Practicing the fire gift I see. Ah yisssss. *rubs hands*
“manipulative gremlin” LOOOOOLLLL LOUIS HOLY SHIT
God that scene with Claudia. Me and you, indeed.
“Bad decisions”. “Love makes you stupid”. “The wilderness that is our daughter”. 😭😭😭😭
Louis trying to say goodbye to Lestat there… heartbreaking. “An elicit couple out for the cheat”. Yeah. No double meaning at all. NONE. Their theme. The initials stitched in. Letting the rain pour down. Summoning Armand. “Mutiny brewing”. 😭 God Louis, why didn’t you just leave. “I used to be real good at running things”. Louis geeeeeeeeezzzzzz you are playing with FIRE. (Yes, I know, foreshadowing.)
And Santiago and the others using that moment to get the evidence they “need”. 💀
“You sure about that, Arun?” “Yes, Maitre.” Ohhhhh fuck. So fucking dangerous. “He is Louis’ creature indeed.” DAMN. Louis dammit you beeeeep Sorry, but honestly, that was… STUPID. You make your only protection look WEAK.
And them arguing in the bedroom. Louis probably having done that himself??!?!!!
Daniel using the time to go through the material - and remember. Oh the FORESHADOWING
And cut.
So in total:
Loved it, lots of very bitter foreshadowing once more. Loved all the little flashback hints. Knowing where the “tender” as a description for them comes from is… 😬. Louis trying to let Lestat go - I KNEW that would be a breakup scene, but I had guessed it would be another one that came later in the book^^, loved this change though. Unfortunately we already know it won’t quite work… Louis deciding to (try to) let Lestat go (which we know won’t work), and trying to take the “bull by its horns”… god. I mean. I get him. But that made my teeth hurt I clenched them so hard because that is literally… like, I said it above, but ARMAND calling HIM “maitre”? When the coven is already plotting? Oh boy. Not good in the long run. Not good.
So yeah. Loved it. So much in it!!!
And... my heart breaks for Armand.
__
And the EPISODE INSIDER. Spelling it out once more: (A gag order definitely dropped away^^)
“Lestat is just ruining Armand’s and Louis’ romantic evenings together.”
“He almost takes on the Lestat role in his relationship with Armand.” 😬
“Louis’ relationship is a response to his relationship with Lestat.” “Armand is a rebound. A rebound that lasts for 70 to 80 years.” 💀
“I think Louis knows he can get away with more.” “Like Armand is maybe a bit of a pushover. He realizes he can manipulate that relationship a little bit more.” (LOOOOOOL JACOB)
“Ghost Lestat [] is also like Louis’ doubts about Armand.” “He tries to accept Armand the way he is.”
“Armand will always see a little bit of Lestat in Louis.” “His paranoia is all encompassing.”(!!!!)
“It’s this really sad aspect of his life.” (indeed.)
And last, but not least:
“But it’s also seeing Louis slip faster with Armand than she had planned.”(!!)
HOLY SHIT. 💀

So let’s talk about No Longer You from Epic: The Musical
I just finished listening to The UnderWorld Saga from Epic and even though it’s the shortest saga out of the musical the amount of lyrical symbolism and foreshadowing from this saga is incredible but I specifically want to talk about No Longer You and how this song uses foreshadowing to its advantage but also to show the inevitable character growth and development that Odysseus will actively go through in Act 2. Tiresias, when Odysseus first meets him and gets his prophecy pretty much not only tells Odysseus how his journey will end but how to do it. First is, ‘’I see portrayals of betrayal, and a brothers final stand’’ now to Odysseus this seems like he is going to lose another member of his already dwindling crew however to the audience and those who know of the myth know that this is to show Eurylochus’s mutiny that will/is happening, its hinted at in the opening verse of Puppeter that Eurylochus was going confess to Odysseus that he’s the reason why the wind bag was opened, so this was pretty much a warning by Tiresias for Odysseus to be very careful of those around his crew, so this might come into play in Act 2 about Odysseus being a little more apprehensive around Eurylochus and his crew. Second is, ‘’I see you on the brink of death. I see you draw your final breath. I see a man who gets to make it home alive but it’s no longer you’’, these lines are the most important in the entire musical cause it show that at some point on Odysseus’s journey back home he will go through such a change that the ‘’final breath’’ is to show that the Odysseus we knew since the beginning of the story will ‘’die’’ and a new Odysseus will emerge to do what ever is necessary to get back home and will accept ruthlessness, I also find it interesting that Tiresias says the exact same words to Odysseus when he first got his prophecy it’s as if Tiresias is almost telling him ‘hey, this is what’s going to happen to the exact dime, change your way of thinking now or you will not live long enough to get back home’ and in Monster, Odysseus finally accepts ruthlessness and at this moment I believe is the old Odysseus’s ‘’last breath’’ and in Act 2 we will see how this new Odysseus will use what ever tools he has to get back to Penelope and Telemachus. No Longer You is an excellent use of foreshadowing and how it can be used to show a character’s growth and development and this song should be studied for writers to help better use clever foreshadowing in there stories just, aaarrrghh it’s so good!

I was relistening to the entire Epic earlier and noticed a very, very neat way that the theme of justification goes through the story. Needless to say, casus belli is something that's heavily discussed in the Homeric text(s) as well. It's not a new thematic invention.
What I admire is the gradual progression of it through Epic as Odysseus slowly changes as a person and applies the same logic of "this is a small price to pay" — convoluted logic! — to newer and newer objectives.
In the Troy Saga, it's the death of Astyanax/Scamandrius justified as necessary to prevent the promised doom to, apparently, the entirety of Achaean forces and their homeland if the boy is allowed to live. One could expand this and argue that it's the cruel justification of the siege and burning of Troy overall — to prevent possible future uprising.
In the Cyclops Saga, Odysseus considers murdering Polyphemus ("it's just one life to take") to preserve his men's lives. As a major separation from his mythical counterpart, he decides to not go through with it when given a chance to, though — the motif of mercy as a solution is unique to Epic.
The Ocean Saga reads as a thematic interject. Odysseus doesn't particularly choose to sacrifice anyone for a greater cause. I view Luck Runs Out as a forewarning for one of the following sagas. This saga majorly introduces the theme of ruthlessness as opposed to mercy — also a dichotomy unique to Epic.
The Circe Saga lacks a sacrifice for a bigger cause. Yet again, we receive foreshadowing in Eurylochus' willingness to leave Odysseus' crew behind not to face a foe that seems unbeatable — something that will come to be important later. Odysseus' mirrors are scattered across the entire musical, he's one of them.
The Underworld Saga is the point of no return. I know that arrival to the Underworld is part of the Odyssey so it isn't unique to Epic but placing Odysseus' narrative turning into "the monster", a thing that is not exactly in the Homeric narration, in the Underworld journey is a very "Greek myth" concept. A katabasis as a story of change.
In the Thunder Saga, Odysseus truly goes off with the justification of crime. The Sirens are punished for being a possible danger in some unknown future much like Astyanax/Scamandrius was. Scylla & Mutiny following up that one scene with Eurylochus in the Circe Saga finish the circle of mirroring between these two: Yes, Eurylochus, Odysseus agreed to leave some men behind to save the rest, though, a few sagas after.
The Wisdom Saga is part of a different thematic layer, it doesn't respond to any of Odysseus' struggles with morality. If anything, it just introduces Athena as his mirror (there are more than just two).
In the Vengeance Saga, the circle of justification comes to an end, in my opinion. Odysseus ultimately aligns with Calypso (his other mirror) that justification through love is ultimate. He will do anything and everything justified with love and it is presented as a positive thing no matter how convoluted it is.
Epic!Odysseus goes a full circle.
He starts off as a man who wants to go home but doesn't want to make that homecoming a bloodbath, as much as being actively in the war makes it possible. He ends up a shell of himself that wishes to cause more bloodbath just to get home; he personalizes and self-focuses any danger as one aimed against him and him alone — unlike the beginning sagas where any danger was a danger to the entire army/his men/his homeland.
Epic is structured very well, narratively.

Other neat musical notes from the Thunder Saga!!
In Suffering, when the Siren is telling Odysseus where to sail to avoid Poseidon, she uses a variation of the melody on Zeus's line, "He will burn your house and throne. He'll find you wherever you go" from The Horse and the Infant, emphasizing how Poseidon really will inevitably hunt down Odysseus
A totally new musical theme on "Different Beast"--representing the complete change from everything Odysseus has been before
"Different Beast" ends on the ensemble singing "Odysseus," giving his name the same "boss battle" significance it has in No Longer You (the final choir vocals are singing his name) and that other enemies have (Polyphemus, Poseidon)
The juxtaposition of Scylla saying "you know that we are the same" with Eurylochus's confession indicates her words apply to him, and through him they'll apply to the whole crew in Mutiny, but her words ALSO foreshadow how Odysseus will "leave them feeling betrayed" and "break all the bonds he's made" when he sacrifices his men (👀 ok Tiresias! But they had it coming)
Odysseus being the only one to acknowledge Scylla's words hints that he had known about her in advance, as he is not occupied with fighting her but is calm enough to listen
The reprise of "Luck Runs Out" from the crew instead of Eurylochus 👌👌 they've been on his side for a long time
Eurylochus sings his lines on the Sun God's island in the Divine Directive melody (Zeus in The Horse and the Infant, Odysseus in Survive), indicating that they are indeed on hallowed ground, and that the gods are influencing them to make this mistake
Danger motif in the background chorus in the first verse of Thunder Bringer!
Once again Odysseus begs Zeus, "Please don't make me do this"--the blood is still on his hands, and all he can choose is whose!

So about the choir in No Longer You
I don't know if I can properly express my respect for the sheer amount of foreshadowing Jorge can fit in 2 minutes and 48 seconds.
He's confirmed the first four chants, being: Siren song! Scylla throat! Mutiny! Lightning bolt!
Obviously all foreshadowing the events of the Thunder Saga. But I think I have a pretty good idea of what the last two are:
Run Poseidon! Kill all the suitors for love!
"Run Poseidon" (I've also heard some people guess "fight Poseidon" but I personally hear "run" more) would obviously be foreshadowing the confrontation in Vengeance, which would be Get in the Water and I'm guessing 600 Strike as well
"Kill all the suitors for love!" would be about Odysseus (originally named King), where Ody goes around doing… just that.
I could talk about my theories around NLY for ages since, like I said, this song is chock-full of foreshadowing, but I'll leave those for a later date

Something I've been thinking a lot about recently
Would be Eurylochus's line in mutiny, "If you want all the power you must carry all the blame!" Because even though he sings it to Odysseus, it's not about Odysseus at all. That line perfectly encapsulates Eurylochus's own arc, and foreshadows his death.
I'm sure other people have talked about this as well, but I had to comment on it and how clever it is. Because Eurylochus did want all the power. For a while now, I think. That isn't to say he's been power hungry, but throughout the course of the musical he has grown increasingly dissatisfied with Ody's decisions. Especially from Ocean saga onwards, when Polites isn't there to keep the peace, I get the vibe that he feels that if only he was the one in charge, he could get them home. He would never have gotten them into these dangerous situations they find themselves in. It's his coping mechanism - blaming Odysseus helps keep his own guilt about the wind bag at bay. It's probably why he feels he can tell Odysseus about the wind bag, because he feels that it isn't entirely his fault.
Odysseus doesn't agree, of course, and all of this pent up anger and frustration finally comes to a head in Mutiny. Eurylochus yells this line to him, fully believing that Odysseus doesn't deserve to be in charge anymore and he has a point but that's a post for another day. What Eurylochus doesn't realise, though, is that when he takes Odysseus's power from him and becomes the leader, he will be held to the same standard.
So when he chooses to kill those cows, his words become a self fulfilling prophecy. For a moment, he had all the power. He made a choice. And he had to carry all the blame.

wait, i just thought of something...do you think Scylla was just taunting Odysseus, or do you think she was foreshadowing the events of the next two songs for Odysseus, Eurylochus, and the crew?
"Give up your honor and faith" Odysseus giving up his honor by sacrificing the men who trusted him to get them home safely directly led to him losing the faith Eurylochus and the crew had in him. Eurylochus in particular is hopeless in the second half of Mutiny, and that hopelessness leads to him killing the cow.
"Live up your life as a wraith" (wraith - noun. a ghost or ghostlike image of someone, especially one seen shortly before or after their death.) Odysseus gets to make it home alive, but it's no longer him. He lives!! But he's a ghost of his former self!!
"Die in the blood where you bathe" Could be referring to the crew dying in the same sea where they had slaughtered the sirens. Or, might be referring to Odysseus's humanity fully "dying" as he drifted through the water, stained with the blood of the men he had let Zeus kill.
and all those things were a direct result of him sacrificing the six men to Scylla. which he was doing as she sang those lines.

I have just listened to Epic: The Thunder Saga and I have some thoughts.
Suffering:
I knew something weird was going on because Odysseus doesn’t have a daughter.
A Different Beast
When he said “Kill Them All”. 😦 “When does a man become a monster” indeed.
Scylla
The defeat in Odysseus’ voice…god.
Mutiny
The callbacks to "Luck Runs Out"...heartbreaking. And the anger between Odysseus and Eurylochus, these two characters who love each other...heartbreaking. I really love how you can hear the melody that Zues sings during Odysseus' vision in "The Horse and the Infant" foreshadowing Zues showing up in the next song.
I genuinely thought Odysseus was going to kill Eurylochus for a second. I knew Odysseus didn’t in the Odyssey, but Jay has been taking creative freedoms and I'm pretty sure his crew never staged a mutiny, but I honestly don't mind it. I was legit screaming “DON’T EAT THE COWS!!!” But in the Odyssey, Odysseus told his crew not to eat the cows, but they did it anyway.
I have a lot of thoughts on this song, can you tell?
Thunder Bringer
I am low-key in love with Zeus’ voice. You don't get hear much from him in "The Horse and the Infant". You can tell the guy has some opera singing background. Towards the end of the song when Zeus makes him chose between his crew and his own life, I was almost crying in my car. And once again, we hear "When does a man become a monster?" which is the whole theme of this musical.
This entire saga was a rollercoaster of emotions.

These jokes are getting Auld. (If you know you know)
Most things were phonetically written.
WOAHOO!!! - James Thompson

The Raft of the Medusa - We knew where that was going.
Johnathan Miles is a Horse Girl
Foreshadowing of the Cannibalism and Mutiny
HOOSH
History is a Panopticon They were just people... (Also a Note. I am worried that a lot of the fandom thinks that the concept of a Panopticon originates from TMA and that it was a TMA reference. It was not. I am wondering now if the TMA listeners know who Jeremy Bentham is.)
Cultural Understandings
IceBound Not Down - I did not take a lot of notes on Professor Hester Blum's panel. I was far too invested to write and when it was over I realised I had not made any notes. She was incredible. I loved her narratives very much. I would love to get her book. It is on my list! You would have had to have been there. It was wonderful. Not News: Dan Simmons is a wee fuckboy. We have established this a lot. He also establishes this for us. (?) Umlaqtalik - There is a boat there.
Imperialism is a disease.
How to read Ethically!

Some of my Notes from the Panel with Paul Ready and Nive Nielsen:
Tumblr media
"You can hear a smile in a recording" - Nive Nielsen
Paul "I am not an expert on Anything" Ready
He is so very attached to Goodsir. Goodsir is very much a part of him. Hearing him talk about how integrated Goodsir is to himself was wonderful.
"I think we need more Goodsirs in the world."
Nive and her impressive education on the importance of indigenous representation and how that impacted her. How her voice as not only an actor but an Indigenous Actor was taken with such respect and was given the space to allow for respectful and creative extrapolation on the Set.
A small Note in my book that says: Oh goodness me he is hideously beautiful. I cannot stand how beautiful he really is. Oh my goodness.
"Nothing is good or bad. Just the potential to be." - Nive Nielsen - Terror Camp 2023
Nive: All Humans are good at picking up sincerity.
Goodsir would have hated Hickey.
"Ah. Would you look at that. Dead with my ass carved up." - Paul Ready
Nive: You cannot kill people or let people die because everything is connected and you do not know how that will effect your future. You have to depend on each other. So when there was conflict you had to solve it with as little violence as possible.
A very Important Book Nive Nielsen had spoken about!
You can get a copy on Thriftbooks of "Give Me My Father's Body" by Kenn Harper Here
Tumblr media
I had an incredible amount of fun during this event. I am so excited for tomorrow. What notes you are seeing here are just references to part of the panels and some side comments I had made between all of my other more detailed notes. There was so much to be had and so much that we saw and heard. The speakers were incredible and each individual was incredibly dedicated to their impressive Art and Passion. It truly showed. As Nive said: You can hear a smile in a recording". I feel as if this applies to every one of the speakers and all of the panels we had the pleasure to enjoy today.
I have more detailed notes in my journal which, of course, you can see I scrawled a lot in. I had amassed about seven whole pages worth in that time. So to type them all would be just simple a task I cannot do. But I am open to discussions regarding how everything was if you did not get to attend it! Also Terror Camp has a wonderful setup available for you to explore the other avenues that they have presented on their website. So please do go check that you if you are interested! I cannot wait to do this tomorrow with my fellow Shipmates. Thank you so much for everyone that put together @terrorcamp. I am quite excited for tomorrow!
With much love and saltwater kisses,
Second Leftenant in heart and spirit,
-Wilbur E. F. C.

Everyone's probably saying this but the Thunder Saga is SO GOOD!!! Following on from his resolve in Monster that leads to his treatment of the Sirens in Different Beast? The progression of that mindset that leads him to sacrifice the lives of others in Scylla? The way that the rift between himself and the crew, foreshadowed way back in Puppeteer ('I have something that I must confess') comes to a head in Mutiny? The references to all those past songs when it comes to the Sun God's Cattle? The way Odysseus sounds like he's tearing up towards the end of Thunder Bringer when he makes his decision? Like I can't even with this musical

the teensy little detail of zeus saying odysseus's name the same way odysseus said eurylochus's name in full speed ahead really got to me. it's kind of like a brief foreshadowing of how ody will inevitably choose himself over his crew, eurylochus included. the thunder saga is so interesting when exploring the dynamic between the two characters. they've been through so much shit together and it's finally the end of that. in mutiny it felt as though they almost swapped roles? the parallels between this song and luck runs out go crazy, and when eurylochus says he's 'just a man' before trying to kill helios's cow it's like the cherry on top. they're both equally as desperate.
they've lost that brotherly connection by the time the thunder saga ends, and it all feels farrr more intense when heading into the next saga. jorge is crazy for details and i eat them all up
