This week has been an eventful week. My aunt came to visit, my Summer break has officially started, Eid was on Wednesday (Eid Mubarak!) and July is just around the corner and I'm ready to start a new month 🌟

Everyday is a new day, every month is a new start, and every year is a new beginning.

To start off those new beginnings, let us do our best to better ourselves by incorporating/increasing healthy habits into our daily lives.

Instead of thinking about the millions things you want to accomplish, achieve, or start.....think about the things you can do at your own pace! at your own limits and adding new habits!

Since 2025 will be soon, lets begin to add these habits in our daily lives!

Consistency in time management for Salah

Add Sunnah Namaz

Read Quran daily (To start with consistency, start with reciting ten verses---then a page---and so on.)

Decrease in foul language

Increase in the remembrance of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

Memorize repentance surah/dua to recite anytime and anywhere

Increase in repentance

Cleanse your soul (Whether its distancing yourself from negative people, content, hobbies...etc.)

Speak and think kindly of yourself!

Of course there are times where we fall and our deen falters. That is why we should always ask our Rabb to make it easy for us and to of course do our best in our part.

1/12/2024, The Beginning

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

I'm finally sitting down at my computer after having the idea for a long time. I want to write. Not in a Fitzgerald, Jane Austin kind-of-way, but more in an unusual, stream of consciousness way. Much in the manner of how someone would write in a hidden journal or diary.

Thus the aptly named title of this new blog.

I'm not quite certain how many people still use this site, or if what I write will even reach anyone at all. But that's necessarily my goal. I wanted a place to share my thoughts and ideas. The added plus would be to reach people who would want to share their own; their own stories, experiences, questions even.

One thing I think in this new day and age that we are lacking is the personal connections of the community. Honestly, it's not the community that most people would assume, people who you can relate to. I want to know people who I could never relate to. People who have had such vastly different lives that the worlds we live in seem like two entirely separate universes. I want to increase my perspective of the world. We are all limited by what we know and what we don't know. Is that not another factor that separates humans and God, He is All Knowing, All Seeing, and well,,, we can never be.

Bittersweet really, while being a very frustrating part of this temporary existence; not knowing gives us the privilege to learn, and like every old person has said, "it's about the journey, not the destination."

So, shall we begin this journey? With me or not, that's your decision.

Its Ramadan, and yes I know I'm 6 days late. Honestly, this year I have been debating on whether or not I should my 30 day Ramadan challenge and it seems a bit harder since I am working full-time and I'm 6 days late...

But! That does not mean I won't post at all. Inshallah, I will do my best to share my journey of reaching all of the goals listed above. Ramadan Mubarak to all and remember to keep the Muslim Ummah in your prayers 🤲🏻📿💕

This was #me on the way to see my grandpa for the last time. en-route to Dambatta. He barely recognized me, but he eventually did. I don’t blame him though, I wouldn’t recognize all my grandchildren as a centenarian with a long lineage. May his soul rest in jannatul firdaus, Ameen.
