Grown adults will go “I hate musicals 😒” and then pull up a YA musical who’s target audience is 15 year old girls. Yeah. It’s not meant for you lil bro.

Happy #worldtheatreday
Here is a throwback picture of me performing at an Andrew Lloyd Webber tribute concert a few years ago
Being on stage, performing, acting, and creating in general is something I still miss, and in the last few years, this ache has been growing stronger.
My radio shows, the online specials and the especially the amazing and kind stars of the stage I have met through this have made it easier as because of them it feels as if I'm still part of this wonderful community.
Special thanks to Ethan Freeman who's kindness and support made me feel confident enough about interviewing and hosting💖💖

Get them all here!
Enter a glittering world where everyone has a song in their heart. Each book in the Hearts of Broadway series follows a Broadway star on the journey of falling in love. And when these artists fall, they fall hard.
A national tour, a brand-new musical, a co-star who makes life miserable, and one too many rejections: navigating a challenging career is already a complicated dance. So when they meet the people who tug on their heartstrings, managing the choreography of their lives gets more difficult... and exciting.
Showtune references abound and each book comes with its own playlist, which you can find on your favorite streaming app. Read together or stand-alone, the characters in the Hearts of Broadway series will sweep you off your feet.

I find musical theatre fandom utterly fascinating. As someone who was/is a theatre kid in the sense of working in theatre, seeing people post about like three specific shows as their blorbos is just captivating. Keep on keeping on you guys.

My interview with Carmen Cusack is now available to watch!!
youtube
Carmen is known for her incredibly versatile voice her stage credits range from Christine Daaé in "The Phantom of the Opera" to Fantine in "Les Miserables", Dot in "Sunday in the Park with George", Nellie in "South Pacific", Mrs Lovett in "Sweeney Todd" and Elphaba in "Wicked".
She also created the Tony nominated role of "Alice Murphy" in Steve Martin's "Bright Star" on Broadway and recently starred in the new Broadway production "Flying Over Sunset".
In this interview we discuss her times on Broadway, West End and beyond, her upcoming projects, the difficulty of singing Elphaba eight times a week, the feeling of singing Sondheim and working with Steve Martin on "Bright Star".
We also touch on companies mistreating actors and other darker sides of the industry.

friendly reminder that normal is a myth. everyone has issues they're dealing with. and there's a place you need to go, where you belong. where the things that make you different, are the things that make you special. special like your father, yes percy you are special. like food the colour blue, all the things that make you you, are the things that will make you strong. so be strong 🫶🫶

Top 5 musical characters you relate to most
Oh that is a GOOD question…that is particularly difficult because a lot of times I don’t see my personality represented in musical theatre, but I think I really relate to specific aspects of these characters.
In no particular order:
1. The Baker’s Wife from Into the Woods
2. Katherine from Newsies
3. Bobby/Bobbi from Company (particularly Katrina Lenk’s portrayal)
4. Lydia from Beetlejuice
5. Dawn from Waitress
Honorable mentions are Rosie from Mamma Mia! and Cathy from The Last Five Years
