could i ask for advice with spider legs? i have this image in my head of them coming out of a regular persons back sorta like angel wings, or placement wise anyways, and i can't figure out how to make it look right

ooh, spider legs on a humanoid back, that's a fun challenge.

we'll start by looking at spider anatomy.

so in order to attach those legs to the back of a human torso, you kinda have to turn the thorax upside down. but that would make the legs go backwards, so you have to rotate the thorax without rotating the legs. it's gonna be funky lol.

adding the spider legs would create quite a lump on the back, which could be rather heavy, so it makes sense to me that they'd have to lean forward quite a bit, depending on how big the legs are. if they're intended to be functional, they'll require more space and be quite large and sturdy. if they're purely decorative, they'll be smaller and lighter and won't affect the posture so severely.

My bug demon has never looked so cool. I updated Mantis's design with some more intent and care than I did last time. I gave her Tarantula Hawk wings and colors, I gave her as close of a tail as I could get to an Arizona Bark Scorpion physically, even if the colors are Tarantula Hawk colors. I gave her those big fake mandibles that Earwigs have. I tried to give her some armor that is actual armor adjacent - granted its still very Fantasy Armor. Also I made her hair style easier to read? Kind of anyway, it still has anime hair cut syndrome. But Mrs. Demon of Change/ Mutation has never looked so cool. As always its fun to try and figure out how I am going to pose her and her six arms.
